APPEARANCE
Height: "I like to call myself 'fun sized'."
Five foot seven
Distinguishing Marks: "Nothing you need to know about, cheeky."
For starters, the first thing people notice about Cordelia is the eyeliner around her eyes. It's heavy and she wears it pretty much every day, it's like she almost sleeps in it and reapplies to where it's faded. Besides that, her face is bare naked from any type of make-up whatsoever besides any lip colouring products on the occasion. She even keeps her body bare from any types of piercings and tattoos(she leaves it to her sister). A reason for this, as she says is because it's to prepare herself for any fights she may get herself into so she keeps her body clean in case they'd try to rip them out of her body. Saves her a lot of pain.

Her hair is dark brown and sometimes she dies strands of her hair in various bright colours whenever she wants to. Her hair is naturally wavy but most of the time she straightens it to keep it tame. The colour compliments her cerulean shaded eyes that stand out from her ivory, somewhat freckled skin with her long eyelashes framing them. Most of the time, her hair is kept slightly below shoulder length.

Cordelia is usually seen with a playful smile on her face. She's like a venus fly trap waiting to trap you in her claws. There is always this glint in her eyes telling you to come over to her.

Though the biggest secret? Her scars, the various scars around her body that are not all caused by her. Yes, some are self-inflicted but many were from other causes. She wears whatever the heck she wants. Usually punk style clothing involving bold colours such as reds, purples and greys as well as leather clothing. Her preferred type of shirts are usually tank tops.

Yet she loves necklaces. She's always seen with one on, a different one for each day, honestly. Bangles and bracelets too. She's constantly wearing them. They are the only type of jewellery she will ever wear.

PERSONALITY
"I'm an ace in the hole."
A diamond in the dirt. She has many rough edges.

Cordelia never considers herself as reclusive or anti-social, but she does prefer to stick with her small circle of friends than having to deal with being friends with everyone. She has trust issues and that somewhat explains it. She will say hello to people every now and then and talk to people. But she sticks with the people closest to her which is why some deter from actually socialising with her. Though she has her way with people. Socially charismatic however, she tries to show people that even though she hangs around her friends, she's much different personality wise. Willing to communicate and get to know people on the occasion, she likes learning about people.

She's a playful little kitty, her eyes and attitude speak for themselves. Always with a smirk on her face and that gleam in her eyes. She has a way with her words, as if her intention is to draw people to her. The way she acts can be seductive at times. Teasing and flirting with people, biting her lip. Getting too close for comfort on the occasion. The brunette doesn't like to get too close for comfort and will back away from the hassle if she feels the need to do so. Feeling emotionally stable enough to cope on her own. She claims she doesn't need a man, or a woman; though it's different for sexual pleasure. She's certainly someone who sleeps around often. She likes the thrill of sleeping and leaving. It gives her a sense of power, a thrill of the hunt.

Though her attitude can be bitchy quite often. Not always nice at heart. The brunette tends to have an attitude problem on the occasion. She get's easily bothered by things and will not only pick at them, but a fuse within her is likely to burst. She is known for her short fuse and her extreme frustrations. Constantly backlashing people for how they act, what they do and whatever. Abrasive by nature, she is loud-mouthed and obnoxious, full of attitude, spite and all of the sort that isn't so nice. They say honesty is the policy but when Cordelia opens up, there's a problem? She doesn't give two shits about what other people think about her really. She's in her own world.

Manipulative. Cordelia has the ability and tendency to focus on the personal and emotional state of other people and uses this to her advantage. Taking control of them and trying to ruin people's lives by doing so. Though not many people know about her crude demeanour towards others as it is always behind closed walls. Constantly blackmailing other people to get what she wants. She bends and breaks people into a form of her liking and will do whatever she can to get what she wants.

She takes up bad habits for the sake of it. Smoking? She does it. Drinking? Yep, most certainly. Not as reckless as some people but she has her moments. She has this sense of pride/arrogance within her that stop her from doing certain things. She somewhat wants to keep her life intact somewhat however and just does it for the high sensation.

HISTORY
Relationship Status: "Moving around, braking hearts. I'm a big deal."
On the fling
Family and Friends: "A love so kind. Yet a lover's so blind."
Janine Christina Fields: Her older sister. She loves the other female to bits and would never know how to live without her really. Her sister is like her absolute other half and will try to keep her safe and look after her at all costs.

But besides her biological parents whom she abhors, she has her five favourite people she can count on when times get tough for her. As well as her two fathers whom she loves so much.

Known Languages: "Well I'm half Dutch so wouldn't it make sense if I spoke the language? Duh."
English || Dutch || French( a little bit).

There is only one person she truly cares about in her life. Her sister. Janine was born a year before Cordelia was, so they are able to maintain a close relationship throughout the years. They loved each other a lot. They lived in Sydney, Australia until they were around eight years old. To get away from trouble some people were causing for the family, they moved away to America where everything seemed so much easier, or so it seemed. They didn't move with their biological parents, instead, by the time they got to America, a few days later they were taken away because of their parent's extortions from the work place in order to get away. Their mother was a drug addict and their father was a gambler associated with various loan sharks and gangs, how were they meant to look after their family? It didn't look too god for Annette(who had also been known to abuse their children) and Christoph Montgomery, only subtly, it wasn't all the time.

The girls were then adopted by two men. Ashton and Croix Fields, who actually made things better for the girls. Being with them wasn't so hard and as time went by, the girls missed their real parents less and less. This was how it felt to be in a real family right? A place where you are loved, appreciated, you lived in a world full of happiness? It's true. It happens. Happy lives meant friends, being praised at home and in school and fun. That was what the girls managed to get, so through out their pre-pubescent years, things were going pretty smoothly. Everything was going normal for them so far.

Until it happened.

Suddenly, old trucks follow new trails, as Ashton and Croix had received phone calls from mysterious people. As both Janine and Cordelia started attending high school, they had received harassments within their phone calls and even threats on the occasion accompanied by ridiculous prank calls. It was made obvious that the original family wanted their children back. Feeling they were entitled to keep their children and that the authorities, as well as the law were not being fair separating them from the young ladies they called their daughters.

It was around the age of thirteen years old she had her first thrill of the hunt(as she calls it) as she found some pesticide hidden in the bathroom, the type that Croix used to stop bugs from getting on the plants within the bathroom, as well as the garden. So what she ended up doing was sneak out to meet with her parents after trying to get close to them again through writing them letters. She told her fathers that she was staying over at a friends house, but she met her biological parents at their hotel room and brought them food as a gift, stuff she made herself at school. After a while she claimed she had to go, they ate it and a few days later, after complaints about them neglecting their room and causing it to smell, they were announced dead. All she wanted was for them to leave her family alone, the family they weren't part of.

Though she hasn't truly coped with killing their parents but has managed to get herself out of being a main suspect thanks to her fathers, sister and their lawyer. But yet, the idea of doing it again truly captivated her.

She wouldn't give a second thought next time.

So begins...

There's hands on his hips, thumbs sliding below his waistline, lips on his neck, fingers undoing the button on his jeans, a tongue pushing against his to exchange a pill or two. He drops his head on someone's shoulder, drinks down whatever's pressed to his mouth. Alcohol, bitter. Doesn't matter, it does the job.

There's a flame somewhere and it catches his attention, pulling his mind from the haze the drugs created. He pushes hands off of him, steps away and across the room, eyes locked on bright orange dancing in the smoke. There's a laugh, close, though it sounds far away, before someone's crowding in his space. Older, attractive, blue eyes and artful stubble. He feels hands go around his neck, drag him in for a kiss, slow and filthy.

There's a forehead pressed against his, a bright flame filling the space between warm breaths, and he lifts his hands to cup them around the warn lighter. He doesn't notice when the man moves behind him, pushes him up into the wall, whispers something in his ear before cloth is falling around his feet and his body is erupting in pleasure. He fingers dig into bricks, whimpers fall off his lips, but he never takes his eyes off the dancing fire.

***

Jake wakes up surprised he can remember his own name. He blinks a couple of times, takes in the sunlight from the opened back door and painted black windows, doesn't have a clue what the hell he took last night or who the hell he did. His nose wrinkles up at the smell in the room, a combination of sex, drugs, and cheap booze.

He runs a hand through his hair before pushing himself off the floor, untangling his legs from someone else and throwing an arm off from around his waist. He doesn't recognizes any of the sleeping faces scattered around the room -- on the bed, the couches, pressed up against the walls. Doesn't really care, either.

He finds his boxer briefs by the wall, double checks the tag just to make sure it's his name written on the inside, finds his pants on the balcony. His eyes hurt when he pushes his way through the half open door, and there's a woman in the room across from him staring with her mouth open.

Jake waves as he steps into his jeans, doesn't bother zipping up before he's going back inside. He had a teeshirt at some point, but he can't find it as he picks his way to the front door. jumping around on one foot at a time as he finds his shoes. His hoodie is over a radiator, so he grabs that, double checks the pockets for his phone and his lighter.

He steals money for a bus out from under some guys foot, finds a bagel for three dollars at some street vender, and actually makes it to school in time for first period.

Whoever said he didn't have his priorities together obviously needed to recheck their logic.

School wasn't anything interesting, though. Jake spent first period asleep, face tucked into the crook of his elbow, trying to drown out the pounding in his head. Surely he had a pill somewhere for hangovers...he just didn't particularly feel like looking for it.

Second period, at least, was more interesting because he finally got to see his friends. Or, well, friend. Cordeila Fields was quite possibly Jake's favorite person on the planet. Her personality was a little bit addicting, and Jake usually found himself sitting next to her and almost smiling while she interacted with everyone else. She was a spitfire, that one.

Third period is British Lit. which flies right over Jake's head unless he's high, but at least Seth is in that class, which makes it bearable...and quite possibly the only reason why Jake was passing.

Fourth period Jake spends at the back of the classroom, hood over his head, passing notes with Talin and having absolutely no clue what in the world the teacher was talking about. The bell eventually rang for lunch, so Jake gathered his things and walked with her to their usual spot in the far corner of the cafeteria.

Raven's already there by the time Jake sits down, and he steals an apple off his friends lunch trey before the others all gather around. They don't talk about much, they usually don't during school, but the more charismatic ones out of the group have a little conversation.

Jake draws stick figures on Raven's wrist.

He doesn't see much of his friends in the classes after lunch, only gets pushed around by Mark Willson a couple of times in the hallway, and the day ends as unremarkable as it began. His last period is gym which, nope, hard pass. So Jake gathers his things, flops down under a tree in front of the school, and flicks his lighter open.

Image Her lips plumped up in a pretty red gloss, her eyes as blue as ice, her figure as flawless as a hourglasses. Raven held her gentle in his arms as she wrapped her long arms around his neck, leaning against his body. She looked at him like she wanted to devour him, even the heat from her body tangled it's self around him. Her black wavy hair was long enough that he could tangle his fingers in it by her waist line.

The smell that rose off her body, any man could tell that she wasn't a child or some teen girl wanting her virginity taken away, but a woman knowing what she wants and wont stop until she gets it. Even her satin red gown was tempting. If only Raven was like every other normal guy, if only he took this all to be tempting.

Smiling at her with his wickedly charming grin that held no meaning but death behind it. Caused her to shiver in his arms as he lifted his hand from her waist to slowly smooth it down her jaw and to the crook of her neck. He chuckled once at her reactions, playing with her with every second he had. "Married woman should stay at home where they belong, because they never know what might happen to them in these situations."

Her blue eyes looked at him as if she was startled by the twisted look in his eyes. "You don't feel loved. I understand." He chuckled once again and slid his hand slowly down her chest, but stopping before he reaches her breasts. "Woman who don't feel loved, can never truly understand the meaning. So why are you here? I bet you ask yourself that."

Her face became pale and she removed her arms from his neck. She looked at him know as if she couldn't believe a word he was saying, even though they where everything she felt inside.

"Don't worry, you won't be missed right? Is what you think you know. So why not just end your suffering now? I could help you, but you must end it yourself." He gripped her by the waist and turned her around so that her back end was facing him and her front was pointed towards a bottle of her medicated pills that peeked out of her purse on the sofa in the cheap motel room. "You've thought about it, over and over again. Why not do it while you have the chance?" He thrusts her hips into his own and than let go of her stepping to the side.

She stood there pondering as he watched her do it. His eyes full of pure lust, lust of wanting her to do it, lust of wanting to see this all play out just as he had planned for it. Slowly she reached out for the bottle...
***

Waking up to his alarm clock he rolled over pushing his black hair back. The sine was bright and nearly blinding. Today would be like any other day, long boring and hot. That was until school was over. But today he wasn't going to go to school until about around lunch time.

"Reibun, my sweet child. Did you pamper your face today?" His mother spoke to him in fluent Japanese, with smiling eyes and a gentle touch with both her hands cupping his face. "Us ladies but always look our best, because we never know when that special person might show up and take us away." She stood up on her tip toes to place a soft kiss upon his chin.

His fake smiled washed over his face as he took a hold of her wrists in his hands. "Of course, I wouldn't couldn't forget such a thing. That would be careless of me. I even fixed my hair to look it's best today. Mother it's a very special day you know." His grip tightened around his mothers wrists as he kept his fake grin upon his face. "It's special because I finally see the truth."

She winced at the pain and looked at him surprised. "Ladies are not suppose to be strong! that's disgusting! How dare you put shame into this family!" She tried to glare at him but the look of her being scared washed over. "L..Let me go you despicable girl!"

He watched as she struggled to break free from his grip, hardly even budging him. He could feel her heart pulsing under his finger tips. She was like a frightened mouse in his trap. "Shameless? Despicable? And a girl? Mother, why must you speak of yourself this way?" His grin became a wide heartless smile as he let go of her hands and reached for her face. He cupped her face easily in his hands and yanked her to him, letting her face linger just inches away. He tilted his head to the side and laughed softly. "I was never your little girl, you silly silly woman. You know this and so do I." He pet her hair softly as her eyes panicked. "Mother, this is your fault, you know this too. You should take responsibility." Pressing his cheek against hers, he never let go of her face. "Do it mother, do it for me. End this miserable life of yours and finally be happy."

He chuckled and let her go. "I have school, I've wasted enough time pampering myself. I wont let you ruin today for me." He waved her of as he walked away.

By the time he got to school, the lunch bell started to ring and he made his way over to his groups table. He was the first to be there like always, waiting for the others to show up. It didn't take long either. Jake was already drawing on Raven's arm. And lunch passed by before he knew it, along with the rest of school day.

"Yo it's Raven, sup man!" Mark Wilson came up to him and took him by the hand and giving him a bro hug. Raven was only friends for him for one reason. Mark bullied Jake and Raven didn't particularly like those who mess with things that belonged to him. And he felt his friends, specially Jake were his to bully or do anything with.

Raven tilted his head to the side as Mark wrapped his arm around his shoulders like they where best friends. "Mark." Raven slid his finger down the guys jaw and smiled softly as if to show his cute side. "I know your secret and yet you still come to be after what we did. How sweet of you. It makes me feel all warm inside."

Mark looked around and took a hold of Raven's hand. "I said not in school!" He whispered to him and looked at him in a begging way.

"You came to me. You always come to me." Raven took Mark by his shirt and pressed into his chest with his arm, causing him to fall to his knees. "I will do whatever I want with you. Remember that."

Mark shivered and nodded at Raven once Raven pulled his face away and started to walk off in the direction to where he saw Jake playing with a lighter. Smirking, Raven leaned against the tree and hovered over Jake in a sexy and charming way. "You didn't come get me, how cruel of you, I feel used, like you hate me." He caught Jake's eyes with his own, boring his stare right into his.

"Seth are you done or not?" Rachel asked, "my parents are going to be home any minute."

"Trees that are slow to grow bear the best fruit, Molière" Seth replied coolly.

"Yeah well Molière's parents aren't going to be home in a few hours," she rebutted, "If I knew that it was going to take this long to heal I would have just gone to a professional tattooer."

"This is scarification you philistine."

"Same diff-" she winced at the pain, "-rence."

The boy lifted his knife, letting the tip trail along his customer's side. She had a beautiful body, a perfect canvas to carve into but she was utterly vapid to talk to. She was dull, unlike the scalpel he'd used on her. That blade was a medical marvel, or rather it was a marvel of medicine. Originally he'd lifted it from the hospital when he was recovering from an appendectomy (he wanted a souvenir for his surgery), but the more he toyed with the knife the more he appreciated its usage. Its smooth edge always fascinated him and the fact that it made such clean cuts only made his art easier.

"Alright we're done here," he said, slapping gauze on her, "just keep that shit bandaged up and you should have a sweet scar in a few weeks."

She sat up, grabbing her purse.

"How much do I owe you Seth?"

"Art like this can't be found everyday," he said, "you're going to have to pay a pretty penny."

"Money is a little tight right now," she said coyly, "isn't there something else you want?"

Despite asking, he was already on top of her, shirt off and pants following after.

"Didn't you say your parents were going to be home 'any minute'?" he asked, planting rough kisses along her neck.

"Don't worry I told them I needed something from the st-"

"What the hell are you doing to my daughter?"

As if by some cosmic irony, the door of Rachel's unlocked bedroom flew open to reveal an angry father, a concerned mother, and a sister that Seth was pretty sure he'd gotten high with once.

"Now now, 'for every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind'. Ralph Waldo Emerson" Seth quoted, slowly crawling out of Rachel's bed and toward the window.

"Rachel, grab the belt."

"But Dad-"

That was all the signal Seth needed to leap out the window and start heading for the hills, deciding that he would rather lose a shirt than lose his life (or his knife).

---

"Yeah sorry I only take cash or cigs," he said, "art like this can't be found everyday so you're going to have to pay a pretty penny."

"Well I hope you change your mind in the future," a blonde-haired man replied.

"Hope is a waking dream," Seth retorted before turning back to the board.

They were in first period, the one that the Japanese boy tended to sleep through or make deals in. Despite not being his favorite (because who actually enjoyed math?) he had a few connections from remedial kids who wanted to be edgy but didn't have the cash or parental permission for tattoos. He wouldn't have considered himself popular by any means given that most people knew him as the "cutter" (both inaccurate and imprecise) but at least they got his name right. He'd used his knife to etch his initials into all the desks he'd ever sat in and even the underside of Mr. Fforde's "special chair." It was his way of marking his territory, flaunting the fact that the school was his canvas.

"Alright fine. What about a carton of cigarettes, menthol even?

"Meet me behind the school next Thursday, four o'clock."

With a curt nod, the rest of Seth's day ended up being pretty boring, namely full of things that he already knew how to do. Second period was science, very chemical, very boring, very already taught in tutoring. Third period, was the Bronte sisters, wherein Seth derived more enjoyment out of watching Jake's half-puzzled, mostly bored face.

If only the books were about the history of fire, he might actually give a shit.

Fourth period, fifth, everything else blurred under the the Japanese boy's wandering, apathetic mind (lunch included) as he waited for the final bell to ring, the ticket to freedom, the thing that said "yes you can leave now!" Yes, even when the teacher was so bold as to say "the bell doesn't dismiss you, I do." It wasn't true.

The bell allowed Seth the freedom to half-walk and half-skip his way to Jake and Raven's spot under the tree. As usual Raven, no Reibun, was putting on his seduce-you-with-charm face which was slightly different from his seduce-you-with-fear face, but very similar to his seduce-you-with-seduction face. It was all in the eyes, but to anyone who wasn't in the group it was hard to discriminate.

"Well I'm pretty sure the fact that he hasn't immolated you is proof enough of his devotion," Seth cut in, taking a seat on the grass.

ImageThe music pulsated through the large home. Piercing through the air like thunder. Talin sat alone on an uncomfortable black leather love seat. Tucked away in the farthest corner of the living room. She held the red plastic cup in both of her hands. For the past two hours she had been nursing the same cup of alcohol since her arrival to the party.

She stared down at her bare thighs and suppressed the urge to frown. Upset with everything and everyone. Ethan had dragged her to this party. He always was the one to. It was a celebration for their latest win. But their school had the best football team in the district. They won every time. The more popular people were always on the look-out for any reason to throw a party. She was not usually invited to these types of gatherings, which she was fine with of course. Though, as of the late she was a special case. Ethan was important to the team, and she was his girlfriend. For the time being anyway.

She lifted her head from her lap when she felt a presence approach her. Her grey green orbs met striking hazel ones. Talin opened her mouth to speak. To ask him to finally take her back home. She was willing to lower herself to actually begging. She hated being there. "Sidney." His voice cut through and she promptly closed her mouth. "You've been sitting here ever since we came in. You didn't even dance." She carefully schooled her features into a blank stare as she listened to his complaints. The slight slur in his in his voice indicated that he was bordering on light drunkenness. But the football player had exceptionally high tolerance. He always knew what he was doing. He was always aware.

She did not even struggle against the large hand that wrapped around her wrist. As of the late she resisted the compulsion to fight against him. At least she tried to. Instead she let him lead her. Downing the last of her drink in two large gulps, she tried to focus on the liquid searing its path down her esophagus. Talin struggled not to stumble in the high heels she was wearing as Ethan led her through the throngs of other teens. She gripped his hand and attempted to make herself as small as possible. Trying to avoid rubbing against hormonally crazed and sweaty people.

She bounced up the stairs hurried. Doing her best to keep up with the boy who easily went up them two, sometimes three, at a time. It did not take a genius to figure out he was dragging her to the bedrooms upstairs. Pushing her into an empty darkened room, the door shut loudly behind them. Within moments her petite body was being crushed against the bed cushions. Clothes fell to the pristine white carpet. Teeth bit at her bottom lip. Instinctively she wanted to push the muscled body off of her own. She disliked sex. Kisses trailed down her chest and his hand squeezed her neck. Unconsciously, threatening. He knew that too.

• • • • • •

That was last Saturday. Talin had been avoiding Ethan as inconspicuously as possible. Which was to be expected. It was a pattern.

She sat in her homeroom class and flipped through the pages of The Stranger by Albert Camus. Hands slammed down onto the wood of her desk and she looked up to see her boyfriend. Her face carefully apathetic. It seemed to be a mistake getting to school early. She should have known. She glanced at the digital clock on the wall. Only three minutes until the bell rang. "You forgot your phone." He stated, sliding the sleek mobile across to her. She hummed, in thanks supposedly. She left it on purpose. An excuse for him not to contact her.

The couple stared at each other for a minute. Each assessing the other. Talin's eyes uninterested. Ethan's, irritated. The bell rang and people began to file into the class room. He let out a stressed sigh. "Whatever." Was the last thing she heard before he disappeared into the hallway heading to his own class.

The rest of the school day continued rather slowly. Predictably. Listening to teacher's drone on and on about various subjects. The only good points about the day were when she saw her friends. Passing stupid notes with Jakob. Rolled up peices of paper with scribbles about everything and nothing. Chatting with Cordelia, well that was more of a one-sided thing. Talin was content to listen to her friend go off on anything and anyone. To be honest, Talin had a thing for accents. Tossing quotes from memorable authors back and forth with Seth. The boy was younger than her, but she admired how well read he was. Watching Raven interact, with anything really, was always interesting too. He was strange, she had always thought, but then again they all were. It was just that his strange was more of a captivating, alluring type of strange. If that made any sense at all.

The blonde packed up and shouldered her satchel. Standing up from her chair, she tugged her oversized black sweater down to her mid thigh and made her way out of the room. Signalling the librarian with a small wave, which the old lady all but flat out ignored. Which was okay with her, the two of them had a silent and mostly detached relationship. The woman watched over her as Talin preferred to spend her sixth period study hall in the library, and was fine when she decided to leave before the bell to try and beat the rush.

Though, today she failed. Only due to her decision to stop by her locker and stuff all of her things inside of it. Having finished all of her work early, she did not want to have to have to tote it around in her bag. Walking through the doors of the school outside, she spotted three of her friends under their usual tree. Talin glanced around and jogged over to them. At least she was not the last one. Pulling out a pack of spearmint gum she popped a piece into her mouth and wordlessly offered the others some.

Sex, sex, sex.

Cordelia was outside on the roof, it was therapeutic in her eyes, being above the world as if she was almighty. Her boots pressed against the roof tiles firmly to ensure that she would not fall off. It was the best relaxation technique she was ever taught by her older sister. Whenever she felt annoyed and wanted to blow, she came up here. But why was she here in the first place? Her and Janine had a fight, now within the school everyone knew how close these sisters were really. They'd always talk, exchange food, go out and smoke together and all that. But this time it was somewhat different. Everyone also knew that despite the fact Cordelia was somewhat nice and sociable, in comparison to her other friends, she was a ticking time bomb so when people actually wanted to talk to her, they had to think about not cutting the red switch in her fusebox.

The brunette had an argument with her sister over rumours spread that she was sleeping with Liam, her sister's current boyfriend. Though he was the type of guy who always smelled of cheap booze and wanted to get into a woman's pants as soon as he can within the relationship and it wouldn't only be hers he got into, so she wasn't surprise the rumour had gone around, yet it wasn't true. The problem was though, she knew who spread it, she knew it wasn't true but how she'd explain it to her older sister, she had no idea.

She took out the cigarette from her mouth and let out a gently blow, smoke came out and rose to the stars from between her lips. Cordelia liked laying here, watching the stars. But she turned as she heard one of the fathers shout for her because they were doing something together as a family today, ironically. The brunette wanted to run away because really, affecting her and her sisters relationship was like a knife to the thigh, it burned and hurt and you lose a lot from there but you could live with the wound once it was covered up and you just wait for it to heal. "Coming!" She called back, trying to sound as enthusiastic as possible, what a great night of ignoring, fighting and well, family time.

School was the biggest bore of all time. She walked there alone today which made things even worse as she had no company and hated walking with her neighbours, who she could not stand because they talked and talked and her ears just burned. Cordelia kept on the look out for her sister so she could try to get them to talk again but Janine was stubborn, never listening unless she wanted to.

The morning wasn't too good. Homeroom was a time to greet people, talk about their days and read news headlines, it was great to see everyone bore her with their discussions, but she believed her contributions were what made this time of the day interesting. Lesson one was always the worst, she felt little motivation from head to toe and always talked in the class, never listening to the teacher, more often than not she was separated from the class(by a table or something stupid) or kicked out because she didn't get along with the teacher either and would always have to study somewhere else. Cordelia never knew what would happen in these lessons, especially the ones she spent with her friends, but they made the day more durable for her.

As the day continued, from the first lesson, to second with Jake and having lessons with Talin, Seth and Raven later in the day, the brunette felt more excited as the day would closely draw to an end after that. Going home, seeing her family and spending her evening either watching films, playing games or listening to music if she wasn't sleeping around with men and women alike.

She heard the clock tick in her head. Tick, tock, tick.

It kind of sucked that lessons after lunch were times she didn't see much of her friends, she did have one lesson with Talin though, the girl was so quiet so she made it seem like she was listening to every word the brunette said. The last lesson she had was something along the lines of physics, which Cordelia was very good at, she just didn't enjoy it so much as Liam had a class opposite to her and they'd always meet on unintentional terms. She took a deep breath.

There was a reason she was suddenly avoiding that class now, physics, to avoid seeing Liam. Players will always be players but she is not letting her sister be played by a fool who is making up stuff about her. She made up an excuse so she could study somewhere else for the time being which not always works but sometimes it does, like right now. But yet somehow, their paths always intertwine, she glared at him as he walked to his lesson and he responded with a wink, provoking her. Since he had sped off, she couldn't do anything so she walked towards her locker to sort out what to carry and what to leave here and then walked away.

She hoped Jake had his lighter on him, she left hers at home and she really wanted to smoke right now.

Jake, to put it lightly, wasn't the kind of person known for letting his emotions show. His stoic expression usually stayed the same day after day - even with his friends; to say he didn't smile much was an extreme understatement. Still, those who knew him well could gauge his thoughts in his eyes. The way they brightened when Raven appeared, for example, was pure amusement.

The boy lifted his gaze from the fire in front of him just enough to meet Raven's, his pierced eyebrow raising slowly. Of course it didn't escape his notice that his best friend was attractive...extremely so, even. Raven had the kind of face that belonged on posters, and the charisma to go right along with it. But the seductive game never really worked on him.

Maybe it was because he knew Raven's tricks...or maybe because Raven took pity on his fragile mind and loose morals to ever use it in full force. The latter was probably closer to true - kind of like how Raven never manipulated him the way he so easily did others. Of course, there was always the possibility Raven did, because manipulative people had a tendency to make their victims feel special...

Seth's appearance, thankfully, broke through Jake's thoughts and, oddly enough, his constantly apathetic expression. The smallest of smirks curled on his lips at the boy's words, and nodded slightly as he watched Seth sit in front of him. "Kid has a point."

Technically Jake was exactly one year, five months, two weeks, six days, and approximately four hours older than Seth - he'd checked - but that didn't stop him from calling the boy 'kid' more often than not. There was really no explanation as to why, perhaps it was just one of Jake's many quirks or...something else.

Talin appeared out of nowhere, as silent as always, and offered gum to the group. Jake switched his lighter off, sliding it into his pocket before leaning over and taking one. Cordelia appeared next, and he offered the girl a nod in recognition before popping gum in his mouth. "So guys, what are we gunna do today?"

Image Raven's facial expression dropped after Seth's comment. Sure it was true and he didn't mind it, but he wasn't satisfied with that. And having Jake agree was even more irritating.

Raven smirked at Sydney as she offered them all gum including him. Though, he never really cared for candy, she was offering it when she didn't have too. Smoothly, he reached out to Sydney's arm that held out the gum and turned her around to lean his body on her back and his chin on her shoulder. "That's kind of you, you're so sweet Sydney, but I rather use you as a pillow instead." He sighed and leaned his head against hers. "Jake's being cruel and forgot to get me. They're trying to cover it up with pointless words and mind games. It's oh so depressing." He sighed again and frowned this time. "I was forgotten."

Depressed he played with her long blonde hair a bit, but glanced at Jake when he opened his mouth again. "Why not we all finally break free from our chains. It'll be fun." Still leaning on Sydney. "What'da say Syd? I bet that boy toy of yours is getting to be a real drag. Wouldn't it be fun to have Your sort of way with him?"

Raven chuckled and let go of her finally and stretched out his hands above his head. His Shirt and jacket lifting a bit to show his bottom half of his stomach's abs. And a little part of him wondered if his mom finally kicked the bucket on him. Something about this pleased him and he couldn't help but smile ever so slightly.

Glancing to the side he noticed Cordelia and nodded to her in acknowledgment of her presents, even threw in a soft smile towards her. She was fairly beautiful looking, even with the black around her eyes called eye liner. In fact both of the girls who were in this group of friends were fairly easy on the eyes. Unlike most people, Raven didn't really care about peoples flaws and these girls had them, in fact he always used it against people whenever he was bored or felt like he could use it. These girls were a bit different, he chose not to damage them, even if he could, he wouldn't fully do it to the point of breaking them.

The boys were the same to him as well. They were close to him and knew almost all there is to know about his silly mind games, normally people who figure it out, he'll get rid of, but he never really understood why he didn't feel like touching these friends with it.

Raven's phone started to vibrate inside his pocket and he let himself turn from the group and answer it. "Mm? What is it?"

"Reibun, have you seen your mother?" His fathers voice was sounding through the other line in an alarmed voice.

Raven glanced over at his friends and smirked, but kept his voice low enough so no one could hear him from where he stood a bit away. "Maybe she finally left you. Or perhaps she kicked the bucket. You tell me, you're the one who's suppose to be around to notice. Isn't she your responsibility? Don't you feel the least bit guilty for anything? Haven't you realized it yet? Don't call me ever again. The next phone call I want to get, is someone saying you blew your own head off." Raven laughed a rather stomach turning laugh and the joy in his eyes were almost in pleasure at the sight he put in his head and the words he spoke.

"How dare you! Who do you think you are speaking in that way?! Get your ass home right now!!" His fathers voice yeld so hard and loud, he was sure his friends could hear it.

Raven bent over and laughed so hard his face almost looked like a kid who was enjoying himself.

"What are you laughing about you little shit?! If I don't see you home soon, then I'll come to you. Don't think I can't track your ass down."

Raven's laughs started to slow down as he rubbed his stomach and started to stand up straight again. "Don't you have mother to worry about, you better find her before something happens." He hung up before his father could say any more and slipped his phone inside his pocket walking over to the group with a satisfied look on his face.

"Sorry about that." Raven sat right against Jake and leaned on him, taking his arm and pulling hip to where he could rest his chin on Jake's shoulder, letting his body lean halfly on Raven's chest. He noticed a smell coming from Jake, it smelt like booze, cigs and a sent of another man, he knew right away where Jake could have been, that night. Looking over at him, Raven just stared without saying a single word, but then he gave up and closed his eyes, pressing his face up against the back of Jake's neck and into his hair a bit.

The worst lies are ones that don't result in the consequences for the story teller. Making a move? He was not her type. He made her sick.

Everyone was here before her, she wasn't surprised though as she was always the last to arrive at such matters because something always held her back. She was either doing something or another really, be it finding her sister to go home or finding a buddy to sleep with. No one should be surprised by Cordelia's behaviour though, she will one day be the first one by the tree or at least won't be the last.

She stretched her arms, seeing her friends within the distance. It was a breath of fresh air from how sucky today was. The brunette gave a small wave before walking to them. Nodding to Jake and smiling to Raven. She reciprocated the actions of her friends, especially Raven as they were both the more social ones of the group. They were the ones who'd bring life to a dull party, she knew it.

The girl looked to Talin, her eyes just stared at the other girl for a moment. Out of courtesy she never took gum from the blonde. Another reason was because whenever she wanted a cigarette was when she was offered the said gum as well.

"Jake, pass me the lighter. Please." Cordelia then asks before getting out a cigarette and holding it between her fingers. Normally she'd either go outside the school or go to some unwatched part of the area and do it to give herself some peace of mind. Away from the hassle and hussle.

She looked at Raven as he took a phone call, she saw the smirk on his face but heard no sounds escape his mouth. But there was laughter, tons of laughter. "Zo dom..." The girl muttered to herself and let out her own chuckle. Raven was most definitely amusing to her. It was what she liked most about him, they had a similar sense of humour, they all did. Even silent Sydney, she knew it.

Cordelia was thinking about the question her fire-loving friend had just asked and thought about it for the moment. "Hm," She thought aloud for a moment, prominently touching her chin in a jokingly thinking motion as she went through various things they could do together. "Whatever we do, I'm up for it really." She said, suddenly shrugging. "There are so many people we could pick apart and fuck up." The girl muttered suddenly to herself. The idea was quite appealing. She liked Raven's idea of breaking free, finding some sort of release. "I second Raven's idea." She then added and then bit her lip gently.

"Kid?" Seth scoffed, "now it's my turn to be offended."

Still, he'd take whatever agreement he could get.

Everyone gradually spilled around the tree, some sitting and others standing. Raven had taken up the liberty of leaning (read snuggling) on Talin which left little room for Seth so he decided to just sit on the grass across from the pair. The blue-eyed man had a knack for utilizing his charisma to take advantage of people. While most people wouldn't be able to touch Jake without a sufficient amount of drugs or alcohol, Raven's charisma extended to the way that he moved around. His eyes combined with his touch made most people shiver (his friends less so) and though he he hated to admit it, there were times when even Seth was vulnerable to being caught. He admired the way that people became putty in Reibun's hands and even envied it sometimes. Seth had the intelligence to carry himself, but he had a bad habit of letting his mouth get in the way.

Talin came shortly after, offering a stick of spearmint that he grabbed and put in his mouth.

"Of all the consumer products, chewing gum is perhaps the most ridiculous: it literally has no nourishment – you just chew it to give yourself something to do with your mouth" he grinned, "Half the world is starving, and the other’s going, ‘I don’t actually need any nutrition, but it would be good to masticate, just to keep my mind off things. Russell Brand."

It was a playful rib, nothing more than a comedic book he'd read during fifth period. Plus he was sure she'd appreciate another quote. She was an intelligent woman, far beyond her years yet unappreciated by both her boyfriend and her teachers. Sure, she didn't act like the rest of the cookie-cutter students, but that's what made her so interesting. They could talk for hours about the different books they read, or well however long Talin wanted to since she was generally more of a listener. It only made her boyfriend's lack of appreciation of her that much more irritating.

In light of her boyfriend's recent escapades however, he would be a fun waste of time.

"Well if Cordelia seconds it, then I'm thirding it," he piped in before popping a bubble in his mouth.

While Raven was taking an intermission Cordelia was there to be the temptress. Usually she She had a cigarette between her fingers, ready to light itself and feed Seth the sweet, second-hand smoke that only barely substituted for what he wanted. He had been running low on cigarettes (more specifically cigarette money) which was why he took the deal for a carton of menthols but Thursday felt like an eternity away. He needed something to satisfy that craving of his, but he didn't feel quite right about bumming a cigarette off of a fellow underage friend (unless they offered). It was hard to get smokes these days, even more so if you weren't eighteen or above.

Jake rolled his eyes dramatically at Raven's theatrics as he blanketed himself over Talin. but the mans suggestion on what to do for the day was what really caught his attention.Could they really do what Raven was implying? Could they honestly break free from their chains...let loose...

Jake stared at the lighter in his hand as he passed it to Cordelia, letting his mind wonder to who exactly he'd like to...immolate, as Seth so eloquently put it. He was so lost in his thoughts that he almost held onto his most prized possession when Cory took it. "There are so many people we could pick apart and fuck up."

That. He couldn't have said it better. As Raven excused himself from the group, Jake's thoughts spun out of control yet again. Remembering the conversations they'd all had, blanketed by nighttime and covered in cigarette smoke. How easy would it be...to make all their dreams become a reality...?

He got so caught up again that he nearly jumped when Raven touched him, but let himself be manhandled until his friend was comfortable. It was another one of those Raven Only perks. Jake wasn't a very touchy person, unless there was lots of alcohol and drugs involved. Actually, having Raven so close was filling in the gaps of his memory from the night before, and he arched an eyebrow at the stare he received before the man gave up, nuzzled him.

Finally, Jake returned to the topics at hand, throwing Seth a rare seen grin as he took his lighter back from Cordelia. "If you're looking for something to do with your mouth, kid, I could give you a few suggestions." It was uncreative and too much of an actual come-on to probably be taken seriously - Jake was full of those. Half his vocabulary was shitty pick up lines.

But as Seth becomes the third of their friends to agree on their activities for the night, Jake sighs and draws his gaze up to Talin. Always the thoughtful one, she had yet to speak. "Well Tally," he murmured. "Whatcha think?"

Talin chewed her stick of gum slowly. Relishing the burst of cool flavor that erupted on her tongue. This only made her want to down a bottle of water as well. Just to feel the seemingly freezing temperature the two created when in contact with each other.

She waited for the others to either accept or deny the offer. Rather bored. She was not the type to get offended if someone turned it down. Nor was she the type that secretly wished they would turn it down, because she honestly did not want to give them any, but did not want to come off as rude. Talin was a gum junkie. Always had a pack or two on her. Never could just eat one stick at a time. So it did not really matter if she gave away a few pieces here and there.

She simply watched as Jakob slid out a piece and popped it into his own mouth. Cordelia turned her down with a simple wave of her hand. But she was expecting that. The girl rarely took one, at least, Talin could not remember an instance otherwise. Seth took one for himself and rattled off a quote. She smirked at the boy. He was good. Not many could so swiftly recite a quote on chewing gum off the top of their head. It was quite a nice one at that, she would have to add it to her repertoire. Shrugging, she quoted something of her own as a comeback. "'For some reason, chewing gum for me gets my brain going.' Brie Larson." She popped a bubble and grinned down at him flashing her pearly whites. "It also improves oral health."

She bounced Jakob's question around in her mind. What even was there to do? She was free for the rest of the day. Her mother worked the graveyard shift and would not return home until the next morning. Feeling a hand on her wrist, Talin barely had time to pull herself out of her thoughts before being pulled to rest on a lean body. A pink blush painted it's way across her cheeks at Raven smooth words and proximity. "Who could forget you Rae?" She assured him in her quiet voice. With him leaning over on her shoulder, she really took note of the height difference. It was not the first time that she realized how she was the shortest member of their rag-tag group.

Listening to Raven adress the group. She tossed his phrase over and over in her mind. Break free from our chains. That was what he said. In his flawless, seductive timbre. Talin tensed at the mention of her boyfriend. Raven chuckled and released her lithe form. She bit the inside of her cheek and resisted the urge to wrap her arms around herself protectively. Instead she simply stuck another peice of gum inside of her mouth and put away the pack.

Lost in her thoughts, the other's antics became nothing but white noise. Talin pressed the home button on her phone and watched as the screen lit up. Eyes scanned the screen for the telltale text icon and found nothing. She slipped the phone back into her bag. Part of her was unsure of what she was even looking for. She knew better than to expect a text from Ethan. It was a pattern.

He would hurt her. She would leave without him noticing. Avoid him for as long as possible. He would find her and there would be a tense confrontation that had a tendency to morph into  something more violent. Then he would ignore her for a few days, believing that it would pain her. When he finally got tired of the stint, he would apologize. Promise to be better. Talin went along with it.

The girl tugged on the neckline of her sweater. Her fingertips brushing the sensitive skin of her neck. Going over the last of her fading bruises. Even without looking she knew the location of each and every one of the bruises he gave her.

Break free. . . That was what Raven said. Voicing the desires of all of them. She wondered if he did it consciously, or if it was just a coincidence. Was something like that even possible? Unconsciously, her hands balled into fists and faintly she registered her nails scratching her neck before dropping her hands to her sides. Silently clenching and unclenching them. She could just imagine the feeling of Ethan's own neck under her palms.

It being much larger than her own, it would be quite the handful. Literally. Hardy har har. Talin could almost feel the way his Jugular would pulsate fanatically underneath her fingers. Her thumbs slowly crushing his Larynx with her weight.

Jakob's voice was what dragged her out of her delusions. She blinked owlishy at the four teens assembled around her and tried to remember what they were asking of her. "Oh. I'm game for whatever you guys have in mind." Talin agreed easily.

Image Raven wasn't surprised at any of their answers in fact, he had sort of knew they would all agree. "So..." Raven flashed a huge grin ans he softly, made Jake lean forward so Raven could get up.

Dusting off the back of his pants he chuckled softly and looked at everyone. "How about Jake'ol boy could plan things out. After all he was the curious one."

Raven shifted over to Syd and crouched down to pat her head softly. He then whispered something in her ear his lips barely touching the edge, something only she could hear and not the others. "If you need help, let me know. You got my number, use it if you need too. Specially with this." She and him both knew what he meant. She knew that he didn't like his friends being mistreated in anyway. Helping them out with anything is something he does without hesitation.

He hugged her head and smiled at the others. "Jack, maybe we should write this down. And then when everything is complete. We can burn it and we all will finally be set free. Sort of thing. How'bout it?"

No one ever knew what Raven was thinking, so if he never explained himself or said it out loud, it would be confusing on his part with everything. "I also think we should do this all together." Raven rested his hand softly on Syds hair. "It could get dangerous. Besides, haven't we all done things better when we all were together anyways? With us around we can finally be our selves, and we can do it together like we are all meant to be. After all I don't believe us meeting was just faith alone."

Letting go of Syds head, Raven sat down, stretching out his long legs and leaned back on his hands. Glancing at Jake he smiled a bit and then looked up at the sky closing his eyes. "Im sick of playing the normal game. It's has gotten to be a bit..." He paused as he mumbled his words, thinking of the right words to use. "...Numbing and boring." He let his hands slip from under him as he turned his body so he could use Syd's lap as a pillow. Taking her hand in his, he played with her fingers, after noticing she couldn't keep her hands still and the pained look in her face.

Care free, that's how Raven was. People's space or personal bubble held no meaning in Raven's world. He did what he wanted even if it made someone uncomfortable. But for him, the more he touches someone in a care free way, the more he thought of them as close to him. He did this with everyone in the group, but mostly the girls, they always did make great pillows whenever he needed it. Unlike a guys leg, a woman's was soft and comforting.

Closing his eyes again he rested her hand on his chest, he held it there with his own hand. His free hand rested along his stomach as he took in a deep breath and slowly released it. If he could, he'd fall asleep, but instead he was relaxing, listing to the others talk until he had something to respond to and enjoying what little sun that the trees leaves let peek through.

His phone on the other hand broke his relaxation mode. It kept vibrating and stopping on and off. Finally he just took his phone and blocked his father's number; just for now. After all he was bothersome and it wasn't like his father could actually trace his phone. Just a week ago, Raven had bought a knew look alike phone that is untraceable, just for this reason. Has father probably realized this and was trying to call to pick yet another drag along over dramatic fight.

She took the lighter from Jake's hand. She smirked as she took his most prized possession away from him in that very moment. The brunette placed her cigarette in her mouth and lit it up, using her free hand to try to block any incoming wind that could stop the cigarette from lighting up.

Inhaling, then exhaling. She watched as the smoke went towards the sky. It was therapeutic to see actually.

She let out a hefty chuckle at Jakob's vulgar come-on. "I'd happily do it." The girl responded, winking after taking the cigarette out of her mouth. Her eyes then turned to Seth and she smirked. "Wanna share? " She then asked him before smirking. "I don't have germs, promise." Cordelia then added, speaking in a modulated manner. An eyebrow suddenly raised as she took another puff from her lit up tobacco stick.

There are always hefty risks when getting what you want though, especially if you're killing someone. She thought, about what could happen if they decided to step over the boundaries. Do what they wanted to do. She thought about what Raven had said just there. It could be dangerous... The male was full of riddles and would say stuff she usually did not understand a word he said until he made things clear on his own terms.

"Who cares if it's dangerous? As long as it's fun I'm down for it." Cordelia then said suddenly, though of course she'd say that, she's a very risky person. Doesn't care what anyone thinks or how people act. She was willing to risk life and limb for the thrill. "I like a bit of danger." She bit her lip out of excitement as she thought about all they could do.

Cordelia took another puff of her cigarette before her phone buzzed. Though she didn't want to check it, not right now. Probably from her sister or something like that but Cordelia wasn't in the mood right now. She couldn't be bothered anymore with her sister's bullshit right now. Or the lies, or anything else these people were doing.

Inhale. Exhale. She took another from her cigarette and left it somewhat dangling in her hands for a moment.

"No amount of gum-chewing is going to save these nicotine-stained buggers," Seth laughed, as he answered Talin back with a bubble pop of his own.

It was a game of wits, one that she'd won this time around but he didn't really mind. Sometimes by losing a battle you find a new way to win the war. Donald Trump. He now knew she'd heard of Brie Larson. Or perhaps she had a litany of chewing-gum related quotes supplied by a website. Either was acceptable, but he figured that she probably just saw her in a movie with that boyfriend of hers. Her boyfriend seemed to have a taste for the mainstream and for that he deserves to die. Well not really. No one deserved to die in the sense of moral absolutism. He wasn't the platonic form of "deserves death."

He was just an excuse to break free. It was as Raven said. They started this club because they all had something in common: they wanted freedom. They wanted to get out those socially unacceptable urges to hurt and maim and kill if the feeling struck them. Everyone had their thing and Talin's was choking. As much as she hid those bruises, she knew her friends well enough that she knew they all knew of the things she underwent. She knew they were gunning for his head. And Raven knew how to capitalize on it. Jake was already raring to go after all.

"Well I'm always open to new adventures," Seth answered, clearly liking the idea, "kind of like your legs."

If Jake was full of shitty come-ons lines Seth was probably full of asshole comebacks.

"Not that I mind."

He turned then to Cordelia and shot her a look that was crossed between temptation and waning resistance as he slowly reached out.

"Well I don't want to impose but," he took the cigarette gingerly and took a long, needed drag as Raven continued his speech.

He was happy to do anything with an edge of danger and killing someone (even if it's not by his own hand) gave him a rush of adrenaline. He passed the cigarette back to Cordelia before taking out his butterfly knife and carving into the grass. He was ready for whatever their club had planned. This death would just be another notch in his belt.

Cordelia picks up on his come-on first, replying with a wink that causes Jake to stick his tongue out at her. It wasn't that he doubted she would...or even that she wouldn't be good. Cordelia Fields was gorgeous, and anyone that could hold onto her for more than a couple of hours was down right lucky, but Jake...couldn't do girls. He'd tried. More than once.

(His fourteen year old self thought that, perhaps, if he could be straight he would be normal. As it turned out Jake was a little more fucked up than just liking dick.)

It was Seth's comeback though that made him snort, roll his eyes fondly before flicking his lighter back open. His head stayed angled down towards the flame, but his eyes were peaking up through thick lashes, watching Seth share the cigarette with Cory...or, more importantly, watching the way smoke rolled off of the boys lips.

It was captivating, really, and he only snapped out of it once he heard Talin speak again; agreeing. Jake shook his head slightly, ran a hand through his hair, wondered if maybe he'd taken too much the night before...his thoughts kept wondering, pulling him out of the present, which was only an issue he really had when he was on something.

Raven pushed him forward and Jake huffed out of annoyance, but let his friend move before falling back against the tree again. As the other man walked along the group, spouting off ideas, Jake only drew his gaze up to offer a sarcastic glare when his name was mentioned, but it was a good point. Curiosity killed the cat, after all. One should know better, at least in their group.

Truth was...Jake was just as tired as Raven was about playing the Normal Game...he was sure they all were. Sitting around, day after day, pretending they didn't have the ability to take out anyone who got on their nerves...

Jake's mind shifted slowly to Mark Willson...it wasn't like he was new to getting shoved around, wasn't even like Mark was his only problem, but he was by far the biggest. Truth be told he could just turn to Raven, point him out and have the problem taken care of nice and clean. The same way it had before.

But Jake was getting this itch under his skin...to do something himself. To watch something bigger burn...to smell it twisting into the smoke. If they stopped playing games...if they just let themselves go...they could have the world.

Jake nodded a little, flicked his lighter shut and reopened it. Again and again and again. Each time his heart beat a little faster. "Let's do this, then."

ImageFeeling a light pressure on her head, Talin peeked up owlishly through her long lashes. Raven. Her lips parted to say something, but was stopped as the boy leaned in close. Feeling the the warm breath cascade about the shell of her ear, a shiver ran through her spine. A faint smile painted her lips at his words. Weak. Tired from the stress of it all and the expectations. But grateful all the same. She was not blind enough not to see the people who offered to help her with her troubles, even though they had their own. And she was not naive enough to take it for granted.

"Ah!" Talin exclaimed quietly as Raven's arms wrapped around her head. "Thank you." She told him awkwardly, but sincerely. She listened intently as he turned and addressed their small group. Taking in his smooth words. The ease he said them with made her wonder. Had he been thinking about this for awhile? Probably, but she could not be positive.

Raven was right. They worked better together. Comparable to a well oiled machine. The five of them, were pieces of a puzzle. Each jagged and awkward alone. Only showing tidbits of some dark masterpiece. But when fitted together they shown as a beautifully macabre image.

Talin had not noticed she was still clenching her hands until she registered the fact that Raven was currently lying in her lap and fiddling with her fingers. She released a deep breath and ran the fingers of her free hand through his inky locks. The boy seemed to have no concept of personal space. But strangely enough, she was okay with that. With wide perceptive eyes, Talin scanned the faces of her other friends. She knew them all well enough.

They each would be willing to jump right on into whatever plan Jakob and/or Raven could conceive in their twisted minds. Not that she was judging of course. She was equally as messed up as they were. Raven made a valid point. As usual. It was exhausting and senseless to keep forcing themselves to be normal. They were not. If you had not noticed. And people were prone to judge either way so fuck it. Right? Eh. . . For some reason, she was hesitant. Sure she wanted to. Had tasted the freedom they were after before, just for a split second. And it was delicious she would admit.

But there were consequences for every action. Especially for the actions they were thinking about taking. She wanted to jump into whatever they planned too. Carefree of the aftermath like the others were. But someone there had to at least attempt to be responsible. If something went wrong, what would they do? What would she do if one of them were hurt? The thought terrified her, but she tried to remain confident. Their group consisted of some of the smartest teens she knew. People threw themselves to the ground for Cordelia. With a few silk like words, Raven could bring anybody to their knees. Jakob was the glue that kept them together and sane, he was the leader. Seth, was their brains. Anyone who crossed him has felt mentally incompetent at least once.

A shrill ping reverberated through the air. Talin unlocked her phone and read her new text message. The corners of her lips turned downwards in a worried frown. Swiftly tapping out a reply with her thumb, she sent it. Tapping Raven with the hand he held hostage against his chest, she signaled that she was getting up. Sliding from underneath him, she swung her worn satchel over her shoulder and brushed the off the blades of grass that stuck to her backside.

"Tell me what you guys come up with. Mom's not feeling well, so I am heading home." She told them in her naturally mellow voice. "Try not to do anything dangerous just yet." She warned. Throwing her hand up in a simple wave, she headed off. Walking off the campus, she only lived a few blocks away fortunately. It was a good fifteen minute walk.

. . . TimeSkip : The Next Morning . . .

School would be starting in about thirty minutes Talin realized as she strutted around the kitchen in nothing but a tank top and underwear. As she buttered her toasted bagel, she apathetically noted that she might be late. She could make it-- early even --if she tried, but she was not feeling it that morning. She was tired. Physically. She munched on her bagel absentmindedly and wondered if Jakob came up with anything yesterday. Holding her breakfast between her teeth, Talin pulled on the black skirt she threw over the chair and the thin sweater.

Bending down to pull up decorated thigh-high sock and slip on a convenient pair of Converses, she picked up her school bag and situated it on her left shoulder. Talin poked her head into her mother's bedroom and stared at the lumpy figure hidden under the sheets. "Lumpkins. Ya' headin' to school?" The muffled, nasally voice spoke up. Talin nodded her head before remembering that her mother could not see her.

"Yeah. . . You feeling any better?" She asked. She was more than willing to stay home and care for her, but knowing her mother, she would deny any offers made.

"I'm fine. Fine hun. Just go. Don't be late." The older woman's head popped up from the blanket and she shooed her daughter. Talin gave her one last soul searching look, then with a whispered, Love you, disappeared down the hallway. Ms. Donalds heard the front door shut loudly and closed her eyes.

Talin jogged the whole way to Tom Grady High without breaking a sweat. She arrived just as the last few students were shuffling through the entrance.

Getting up from Syd's lap, Raven rose to his feet while adjusting his shirt. "Alright, let's meet tomorrow after school in the same spot. It'll be best if we didn't text each other or call each other about any of this. We need to keep this all face to face only. And never speak of any of this other than here."

"Tell me what you guys come up with. Mom's not feeling well, so I am heading home." Syd told them in her naturally mellow voice. "Try not to do anything dangerous just yet." She warned. Throwing her hand up in a simple wave, she headed off. Walking off the campus.

Raven started to walk off himself as well, but he paused and looked at Jake. "I got something to discus with you tomorrow, so wait up for me after school before we all meet up. Plus I rather make plans when everyone is present." He turned and walked away while lifting his hand as if to wave everyone off, just the same as Syd did.

**TimeSkip : The Next Morning**

Image Not being able to go home last night, Raven was sort of left in his yesterday clothing. Not letting it bother him too much, he just did what every man would do. He took off his over shirt and it had left him wearing his black tang top or wife beater. Along with his slit black skinny jeans, he decided to let his hair match by dumping a bottle of water on his head and drying it off with his other shirt, he had then combed it back with his fingers and called it good. Sure it was sloppy of him to wear clothes a second time, but sticking around home was a bit of a no go for him.

Closing the trunk to his car, he turned to lean his bottom on the trunk hood, waiting for Jake to arrive. Bored he started to searching through his phone and sent Jake a text. Letting him know he was in the Lot of the school and that the two of them had other plans for the school hours. Ditching if you will, but it wouldn't interfere with everyone meeting up, that was for later.

Pushing himself up more into the hood of the trunk, he leaned his back against the window and let his long leg curve down to allow his heel to his shoe hook onto the finder. And other leg to just hang loose. By then the bell had rung and Raven let himself close his eyes in waiting.

****

Raven! His mother's voice yelling through his darkened vision. Raven... She started to crying holding her stomach in pain, as he could barely see in the room. ...Rav...

Her cries had become even more pain as she leaned over to the side a bit, pulling her hand away from her stomach only to reveal a once fully pink kimono, in a bright shade of red flowing lines scattered from the handle of a knife. He stared at her as she cried out his name as if pleading to him, begging him to save her.

Her breathing quivered as she tried to control her self, staring at him through her straight long black hair. Hair long enough it covered her back like a blanket. When did you become such a big boy? She let out a smile as a little blood slid down the corner of her mouth. I've missed so much...

A twisted darkness of detestation was show in Raven's eyes as he watched her smiling face. He just couldn't believe that in her last moments, this was it. This was what she gave him. This was what was shown. A worthless realization of her to him. You're a little late. Late to the point of seeing you now, doesn't show any meaning towards me.

Her smile wavered, but she still tried to hold it as she fell to her side onto the floor. Such a good boy, Raven.

****

Raven's eyes fluttered open, only to be shown a bright sky before him and the sound to a few late kids rushing to class. He could feel his heart pounding inside his chest like a drum, but it wasn't out of fear like it would have been for normal people...

As it seemed, the alerts on Talin's phone signaled everyone's respective end to the meeting. She had to go see her mother and being that she was the main character for this little escapade he was better off heading out and wasting time than staying at school, tempting as that was.

"Fair enough," he replied to the blonde girl, "I'll try not to choke my mom today."

He was the next to leave, slinging his backpack over one shoulder and walking toward the bus stop.

His father lived in an apartment complex a mile away from the school, a city away from his mother and about eighteen blocks away from Rachel (the girl he'd given a tattoo to). For the Japanese boy, it wasn't a far walk but it was a hassle compared to the handful of seniors whose parents gave them a car for the very hard achievement of living sixteen or so years. Gerald Johnson believed differently. The fact that Seth was living rent-free should have been enough compensation for his birthday.

PING!

Seth pulled his phone out.

Your mom is coming at five. Clean the house.

"Fucking typical" he whispered, rolling his eyes. His dad only ever messaged him if it involved his parents...or drinking.

Why?
If you aren't there then who cares?

Look, I'm not going to be home until 9. I don't want to hear it from your mom

You're not the one who's gonna be there for the shitshow so stop caring

Talk about Daisy like that again and you're grounded

Seth eyed his phone before locking it and getting off the bus. He was a latchkey kid, but honestly, it was better than the alternative. He liked having the alone time and the space to throw scarification sessions or smoke his hookah whenever he was feeling stressed. His father rarely questioned his habits unless they dipped into his funds and when they did, well, Seth could always throw the fact that all of his past step-mothers kept breaking up with Gerald (because of Seth through no fault of his own). The short-haired boy sighed as he stepped into his home.

The acrid smell of vomit hit his nose like a truck, punctuated by the fact that he'd nearly tripped over the vodka bottles strewn on the floor. They weren't comically oversized no, but like all forms of alcohol, they led to Gerald.

Money, like vodka, turns a person into an eccentric. Anton Chekov, he mocked as he grabbed the bottles and walked toward the kitchen. If that were really true, his father was a double-whammy for fucking lunacy.

As expected, the smell came from the trashcan wherein his father somehow managed to miss the trashcan entirely and vomit on the couch. Yes, their rent-to-own couch that would surely rob them of their four hundred dollar deposit. It was one thing to vomit on the bathroom floor (Seth had done so quite a few times), but another to do so on fabric. He had to sit on that fabric and worse yet he attempted to cover it up using his jacket.

Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to stupidity. Hanlon's Razor. Hanlon's Razor.

No when Seth was on death row it would definitely be a product of malice. It would be beautiful too: his stepmother's naked body scarred with his father's name over and over again. There would be no true significance for why he chose that method of death or his connection other than his handwriting and his desire to see his parents hurt. He knew very well that his father was falling apart, but it didn't excuse this level of incompetence. He was a routine alcoholic, how could he not know how to navigate to the bathroom drunk? The Japanese boy hesitated as he decided that to have a smoke.

At five o'clock sharp, the house smelled of fresh strawberries courtesy of Seth's hookah and his other family was at the door.

"Knock knock!"

"Oh...hi mom," Seth greeted, pulling his sleeves down.

--Time skip--

"Sasuke!"

"What? I have school in like thirty minutes," the black-haired boy asked as he hopped into a pair of red high tops.

"I can drive you. It's on the way to work," Gerald tried to force a smile, "we can even get donuts like we used to."[/b]

"Someone once said that you caught more flies with honey, but science has shown the opposite. Fruit flies, gnats, what have you all prefer vinegars if only because they're easier to sip," Seth mused, "If you want something just say so."

"Have you seen my tweed blazer?"

"It's in the laundry. I saw it on the table so I just threw it in with everything," he shrugged.

Gerald eyed his son. "Really? That's all you did? You didn't look through it. You didn't look through it, steal my money, screw around with my shit?"

"Why? You have something important?" Seth continued playing dumb as he grabbed a slice of pizza from one of the boxes on the table.

A pause.

"No, of course not."

"Well if it's nothing then don't ask," he replied cheekily as he slammed the door and headed to the bus.

It was a short ride to school as well as a short breakfast but he'd much rather take the bus and avoid another argument with his father. The man always suspected that Seth was up to no good (probably because he was) and every time that he had something to hide it showed. He would become nice, attentive, and talkative. He even offered to drive Seth to school today! That hadn't happened since he had to loan Gerald money to pay the electricity bill.

Fingering the small bag in his pants pocket, Seth left the warm, vaguely urine-scented embrace of the bus to enter Tom Grade High School's more vanilla arms (vanilla meaning boring in this case rather than actually smelling like the flower).

Seth took it and gave it back. Cordelia just smirked as she took the cigarette from his hand, took one last puff and threw it. There was no need for it anymore as it was small, useless and Cordelia didn't want to burn her fingers. She could tell it did him good. If Seth didn't have any, Cordelia was more than willing to share, it wasn't as if she stole them or had anything to feel ashamed about. Her fathers didn't give two shits about whether she smoked or not, it was a life choice that they also did, so they couldn't judge.

She knew she wouldn't be beautiful forever.

As Jake stuck his tongue out at her, she just laughed. When it came to dirty jokes, or even come ons , Cordelia knew all about them so she would be the first to get at them. The brunette liked Seth's response to their Polish friend, it was somewhat amusing. She adored Jake and knew any thing he did say sexually would never be directed at her, or Talin, or any other girl. But she'd still have fun with it.

She was pleased everyone agreed to do Raven's suggestion though how they'd truly pull it off, she had no idea. Though they'd think it through, find a way to do it and find a way to get out. They were very intelligent individuals. Her blue eyes focused on Raven suddenly as he told them to meet up here tomorrow in the evening in order to keep it private and within the group. Cordelia just nodded, it was serious now. Even she felt the playful atmosphere fade. "Sounds good to me." The female said suddenly. Then waved to Talin as she walked off. "I hope your mum feels better soon." She said more genuinely to the girl and waved to her, then turned and also waved to Raven after as he left too. She mentally heeded the girls warning of not doing anything dangerous, it would be risky to be straight into it before thinking. But thank god she had no demons to kill off yet.

Though suddenly she frowned, her car was at home and her sister probably drove off now. As it was just her and Jakob now, she smiled to him, acting more genuine than before. "I'll see you tomorrow then, Jake." The girl said and turned into the direction she was walking to. She didn't like the bus as it usually smelled and was full of people always. So she walked home, thank god it was only 20-25 minutes away for her. Cordelia then waved at Jake, unsure of when he'd leave and made her own way before she dragged it on and it got too dark.

She picked her phone from her pocket and read the text.

From: Lucky Dad #1 (Ashton)
When will you be back? We're ordering takeaway, what do you want to eat? xx

Cordelia took a deep breath and laughed before responding, her fingers tapping away at the keyboard.

Not hungry Ash so get whatever.

As soon as she came home, she greeted everyone and went off upstairs. She felt weary and wanted to sleep, Ashton and Croix knew not to disturb her when she was like that. The results were never pleasant.

Cordelia slept like a baby. As soon as she got up she had walked downstairs in her underwear and a long jumper and went to eat breakfast. She didn't have much usually but today, she started her day like her sister. With cereal. She walked to the living room and saw Croix and Ashton walking around and getting ready. "Where's Nina?" She then asked, though they were both getting ready to for work and whatever, Croix had the time of day to give her an answer at least. "Was with Liam yesterday, probably with him at his house." The male then mentioned, while Ashton left the house, Croix went to the bathroom for a wash. He leaves a bit later than Ash so he would wash and relax for a little before leaving.

The girl got upstairs and went to get dressed. Going for a bodysuit instead of the usual bra and briefs. Deciding to pick a short skirt and t-shirt over trousers. She always dressed the way she wanted to, even if it contradicted the weather.

The door opened and closed, then the same happened again. Though Croix was in no real rush, he left to buy something to eat out, thinking everything in the house tasted like shit and preferred 'real authentic food', whatever that meant. Anyways, Cordelia was the last to leave the house as per usual. She put on her fishnet tights, combat boots and a white t-shirt over the suit and headed out.

She wasn't in too much of a rush so she walked it again today, it would be good for her. More fresh air, relaxation and a chance to not get on a crowded bus with strange people. What more could she want from it?

A few minutes later, just before school started, just before; she managed to get in on time. Saw a few girls, smiled and waved to them before rushing off inside the building. And then there was Liam, not her main concern but a massive pain in her backside, that's for sure and made sure that all hopes of avoiding him were possible. Listening to music, she tried to take herself away from the dread and negativity a lot of this world had to offer her.
