Hannah Jones

"Don't try to change me, just because you don't like me."

a character in “PURITY Correctional Camp”, as played by Grumpy-Converse

Description

Image
They don't understand us, and never will. That's the only reason why they constantly kill."

The Basics

Full Name: "Hannah Elizabeth Jones, thanks for asking." Hannah, meaning Grace, Elizabeth, meaning God's Promise, and Jones, meaning Son Of John. Her mother chose the name Hannah after seeing it on a TV programme, and Elizabeth after her Grandmother. Hannah's, not her mother's.

Age: "Sixteen.. not yet old enough to drink, but..." *shrug* Hannah is Sixteen, born on May 14, making her star sign Taurus. And she definitely shows some of the Taurus signs -- her bad moods and fiery-temper being just two.

Sex: "If you are so thick you have to ask, then I'm not going to answer." Female, one of the only ones in the house, being the only daughter.

Sexual Orientation: "I'm a lezzie, and proud of it! This camp is fucked up! No way can they change who I am!" Lesbian

Appearance:

Height: "I'm not really sure, because I don't take out a measuring tape every day and measure myself, do I? But.. short, I suppose..." Hannah is 5'2, which, for her age, is most definitely considered short. She has been teased about this before, but nothing cruel, just playful teasing, and it would be considered one of her insecurities, even if if it just a small thing.

Weight: "Well, I would say, between 110lbs - 120lbs? That's just a guess, though." Hannah weighs 113lbs, which is due to her small height, and her inability to put on weight, even though she eats like a pig.

Hair: "Um...well, it's black. That's about it." Hannah's hair is a silky midnight black, always has been, always will be. Well, sorta'. She once dyed a blue highlight in her hair.. but she only kept that for about a month. It hangs in waves around her shoulders, and falls to just below her chest. She has a side fringe that hangs over her right eye.

Eyes: "Um... brown?" Hannah's eyes are a golden brown, and are symmetrically placed on her face. They have a mischevious glint to them, and are framed by long, dark eyelashes and thin eyebrows.

Build: "Um, small. Yup. Small." Hannah has, being both short and slim, a small build. She is one of those girls that never seems to grow, and never adds weight, though she admittedly eats more than she should.

Personality:

Hannah can be nice, when she tries. But, apart from that, she would probably be considered as... okay. Not that she complains, or ignores, or whispers behind peoples backs - though, to be honest, she probably does do these things. She tends to insult people without realizing it, and then laugh at their reactions, or teasing someone about something playfully, to the point where it just gets annoying. But, we all have flaws, don't we?

Apart from that, Hannah is a sweet girl. She tends to put people before herself - well, on most occasions, at least - and is always there to listen to your problems or give a helping hand. If someone is mean to her, she'll let it slide. But if someone is mean to her friend.. their dead. She is fair, too, and hates for people to be left out, or for someone to get more than another. Not to mention, if you be mean to her friends, you are dead. You have to get even, right? She can also be biased towards friends in some situations but... overall, she is a pretty fair person.

You do not want to go near this girl when she is in a bad-mood. Her... less nice side comes out to play. She is most likely to snap at anything you say, or just ignore you. You'll probably be called a variety of 'nicknames,' most of them meaning idiotic, or something along those lines, and prepare for some glares or eye rolls coming your way. Then there is her hyper mood, which is probably just as bad. She tends to laugh... alot. Like, I mean alot. As in... all the time, alot? As soon as someone says something mildly funny, she will be laughing for the rest of the day. Or, at least, until she calms down. She also tends to be more annoying, jumping around the place, singing, saying random stuff and asking random questions.

There are two things that Hannah is absolutely terrible at - comforting and flirting. She's the person who, while everyone is saying, "Are you okay?" or "You'll be fine" or even "They're in a better place now," will be skulking around the back of the group, awkwardly. When it comes to heart-to-heart conversations, she is a great listener and great secret-keeper, but when it comes to comforting? A big no-no. And flirting is pretty much the same. To be honest, Hannah isn't really sure what to do. How are you supposed to flirt? You can't just go up to someone and start fluttering your eyes, making you look like you have some sort of eyelid spasm!

She is actually a pretty good actress. Not that she has been in many performances. No, when I say acting, I mean lying. She can get away with almost anything, by saying the right things. Though, it's usually her big mouth that has gotten her their in the first place...

So begins...

Hannah nodded her head slightly to the music coming out of the earphones. She was playing Don't Trust Me - 3OH!3 off her iPhone, and mouthed the lyrics along to the song. Her mother sat beside her, ignoring the awkward silence between them. They soon arrived at a parking lot, but Hannah didn't bother looking up.

"This will be good for you," her mother said, not looking over at her daughter. Hannah just continued nodding her head to the music, as the song changed to Gives You Hell - All American Rejects.
"You can't ignore me forever, y'know."
No response from Hannah.
"Hannah!"

The dark haired girl glared at her mother, and hopped out of the car. Still not talking, she took her suitcases out of the trunk, as her mother quickly scuffled out of the car.

A woman jogged over to the two of them, a smile plastered on her face. "Hi there! Glad you could make it!" she said enthusiastically. Hannah rolled her eyes, and the woman turned to her mother. "Could you tell me your daughter's name?"

"Ha-" her mother started, to be interrupted by Hannah. "Hannah Elizabeth Jones. But you can call me Hannah Jones." She crossed her arms, an annoyed expression crossing her face. "And even if I am bi, I can talk for myself you know. I'm not some foreign species."

The woman's smile faltered for a second, as Hannah stormed off in the direction of the cabins. "Sorry about her," she heard her mother murmur, which made her even angrier. She sped up her pace, just as the woman shouted out, " Miss Hannah Jones, you will be in the Faith Cabin!"

"Fuck your faith!" Hannah yelled back in response, to which she got a shockedgasp, though she couldn't tell if it was the counseler woman chick or her mother.

"Hannah! Language!"
Hannah didn't respond. She didn't care. She just continued on her way to the cabin.
"Bye Hannah!" The sound of a car speeding away alerted her to the fact that her mother had left. In a hurry to get out of this gay camp. Hannah rolled her eyes.

She finally arrived at the cabin. With a deep breath, she opened the door.

Audriana paused her fit to glance up at the newcomer. Finally seeing a familiar face, Audriana sighed "Hey, Hannah! I haven't seen you since...forever! Never thought you'd end up in this hell, huh?" Her and Hannah had known each other from elementary school, they were best friends, but they drifted apart over the years; Audriana never expected to find that her old friend had turned homosexual, too. Hannah had always been sort of a rebel, though, so she wasn't that surprised that Hannah had resisted. Audriana looked at Hannah, and saw that not much had changed. True, she didn't have blue highlights anymore, but she still kept the same small build, and the same mischievous glint in her eyes.

There it was, Camp PURITY. We had been driving for what seemed like hours, and it was a relief to finally pass through the camps gates. Josh sat in the backseat of the car alone, he had his iPod with him, and luckily he had remembered to bring the charger cable at the last second, but he had decided to not listen. All the songs he had on his ipod reminded him inadvertantly of what happened at School with Ben... plus he was hoping he could talk his dad out of this, but he couldn't work up the courage to speak. He sighed quietly as they passed the large cross shape sign that said PURITY, coupled with a quote from the bible below.
'God is with you in all that you do - Genesis 21:22' he read out loud. He contemplated the kinda creepy implications of the quote as the car stopped, and he got out. Up ahead in front of all the buildings was a woman in a pale blue top with the camps name etched on the front.
"Hi! Welcome to camp PURITY!" She chirped, in an almost condescending tone, she then turned to dad "Could I ask your sons name?"
"Uh my names Josh Haynes, oh and not Joshua, just Josh" he interrupted, looking to his dad before turning to the counselor. He just had the same vacant expression as usual these days.
"OK, You're marked here under Faith cabin! That's the building right over there" She replied enthusiastically, handing over a map, a schedule and a brochure. Josh stole a glance at the clipboard and quickly memorized a few of the names under 'Faith'. Audriana, Hannah, Jackson, Joshua and his own name were the only ones he saw before the counselor woman looked at him expectantly. he offered a murmur of thanks and nodded to his dad, who nodded back with a strange vague hint of a smile. Progress, Josh thought to himself as he gathered his belongings and made his way down to the cabin.

He walked around the camp circle, around a couple of guys who were chatting happily together. First come first serve, he thought to himself disappointingly. He shyly bypassed the group without saying hi, and walked into the cabin.
'...Never thought you'd end up in this hell, huh?' He walked in and found two girls talking, it looked as though the brunette one had just arrived, and the striking pink haired girl was on one of the beds, holding a pillow. they both looked at him and he felt as though he interrupted something.
'Uh, hi.. I'm Josh' He said, before realizing 'wait are these cabins like unisex or am I in the wrong section?'

"Wait, are these cabins like unisex, or am I in the wrong section?" The newcomer, Josh, asked looking sort of confused "No, you're in the right place, but the boys side of the cabin is over there," Audriana replied, pointing across the room at a bed. As Josh made a facial expression that she assumed was supposed to be a smile, she noticed that he was sort of cute. Not extremely hot, but something worth noting. "So Josh, why are you here? I'm here for being bi, 'an outrage to human kind'"she asked, making air quotes. Audriana was curious to hear what this stranger's story was.

"Hey, Hannah! I haven't seen you since...forever! Never thought you'd end up in this hell, huh?"
Hannah's mouth formed a wide O at the sound of the voice.
"Audriana? Oh my god! It's been ages!" She gave her former best-friend a grin, just as a boy walked into the room. He had light brown hair that fell in tufts on his head, and brown eyes to match.

"Wait, are these cabins like unisex, or am I in the wrong section?"
Hannah grimaced slightly. Probably unisex. So we will have sex, and rid us of our old gay ways. Whatever," she said with a roll of her eyes, just as Audriana added, "No, you're in the right place, but the boys side of the cabin is over there." She pointed to the other sid eof the room, where some beds were. "So Josh, why are you here? I'm here for being bi, 'an outrage to human kind,'" Audrianna added, making air quotations at the end of her sentence. Hannah noted how Audrianna was looking curiously at Josh, and how she specifically said Josh's name. "Bi?" Hannah asked, raising an eyebrow. "As in, boys and girls, yeah?" Maybe Audrianna did like Josh.

But it seemed that Josh either didn't hear the uestion, or was avoiding it, as he started unpacking his bags, and once he was finished that, he left the room, leaving the girls in awkward silence. "So..." Hannah said uncomfortably, giving her friend a sheepish smile.

(PS: ACCIDENTLY TAGGED THE WRONG JOSH.)

The brunette girl seemed to grimace at his disruption, and then rolled her eyes. He was probably interrupting something he though to himself, and began to awkwardly walk out again when the striking pink haired girl replied
'No, you're in the right place, but the boys side of the cabin is over there." She pointed to the other side of the room, where some more beds were. Josh attempted a smile at the helpful direction, but he assumed from her expression that he messed it up, but she smiled back 'So Josh, why are you here? I'm here for being bi, 'an outrage to human kind'
Josh couldn't help but analyze the stranger. She was, admittedly, hot, but in a girl next door kinda way. She had massive blue eyes, and seemed properly dressed, but had this striking pink hair, he can't imagine how she got away with that with her parents, he assumed only really religious people would send their kids to a place like PURITY, but he guessed he was wrong. It also looked like he was wrong on the bi thing, he was worried that he would be shunned by all the fully gay guys and girls for not 'accepting who he truly was', but it looked like he wasn't the only one. Just then he had realized that some time had passed and he had started unpacking, the others were looking at each other awkwardly.
'Bi?' the brunette questioned 'As in, boys and girls, yeah?' OK maybe he was wrong about the acceptance of the bi thing. He felt like he was intruding so he decided to leave, but realized he didn't really have anywhere else to go, and that these two girls, probably the Audriana and Hannah off the list he saw, would make up around half his cabin mates, so he needed to make a good impression. Besides, they did seem really nice. He walked back in and stood in the same position as before.
'I'm sorry, that was kind of rude, I just get lost in my own thoughts sometimes' He attempted another smile 'I'm bi too, my parents aren't like fully against gay people, but they don't believe I am one, which I keep telling them I'm not anyway' He felt like he was rambling 'The whole bi concept goes right over their heads' He tried a wink in the pink haired girls direction, but her expression didn't change. Awkward, he thought to himself.
"So what's your guys story's?"

The whole bi concept goes right over their heads" Josh was saying, and this applied so well in Audriana's situation that she got caught up in his words, and missed when he winked at her. By the time she realized what he had done, it was too late to respond.

Josh ran his fingers through his hair, which pulled Audriana's attention to it for the first time. His hair, at a first glance, looked plain brown, but it actually had honey blond highlights. Cute she thought.

"So what's your guys story's?" He asked, trying to fill in the awkward silence. "First things first, I don't think I introduced myself! I'm Audriana, and that's Hannah. To answer your question, I grew up in a super religious family, so of course they almost had a heart attack whenever I did something out of line. Dying my hair pink, skipping bible school, being bi. They just don't get it. So they sent me here." Audriana replied, happy that the awkward moment had passed. Josh attempted another smile, and she couldn't help but giggle.

Josh sat down on the bed opposite the nice pink haired girl as she explained her situation.
'First things first, I don't think I introduced myself! I'm Audriana, and that's Hannah. To answer your question, I grew up in a super religious family, so of course they almost had a heart attack whenever I did something out of line. Dying my hair pink, skipping bible school, being bi. They just don't get it. So they sent me here.' Audriana replied animatedly. He was surprised at how bubbly and open the girl seemed to be, with the religious parents she had. Dying her hair pink, openly admitting the bi thing, with no sense of hesitation or fear, to be able to do those things with the obviously strict parents she grew up with must have taken a special kind of courage, one that seemed incorruptible by adversity. Josh didn't think he would fair so well under the same circumstances. He smiled at her, and he must have stuffed it up again because she giggled, he let himself stare at her for a moment. Cute, he thought.
"They seem kinda strict, are you religious as well?" He asked, inferring that she wasn't from the skipped bible classes, but wondering how she couldn't be growing up with it as such a strong influence.

Only then did the he really look at the cabin. The door he had walked in from came from an outdoor porch, but he remembered seeing another door on the other side, so he assumed that went to the guys area. There was an open corridor between the two sections that had two doors on each side of the hall walls. He guessed they went to bathrooms and counselor areas and stuff. Above the door to the outside was a huge embellished sign that read 'FAITH'. Josh was worried that he was getting rapt up in his thoughts again, and quickly turned to who seemed to be Hannah, who looked as if she was staring into space. She kinda reminded him of someone, but he couldn't figure who, she seemed really small in statue, and had a kind of curly black hair that covered one of her golden brown eyes. Josh always really liked that kind of style. He was enjoying talking to Audriana, but also wanted to make a good impression on Hannah too, and he was also just genuinely curious about everything in the weird situation they had all found themselves in.
"And I'm sorry, but I couldn't help overhearing you guys talking before, do you know each other?' He ruffled his hair awkwardly 'I mean, Pre-PURITY?'

"They seem kinda strict, are you religious as well?"  Josh asked. "I'm not really into anything against who I am," Audriana replied, happy with how well that came out.  "And I'm sorry, but I couldn't help overhearing you guys talking before, do you know each other?" "I mean pre-PURITY"  he added, ruffling his hair, once again bringin Audriana's eyes to his honey highlights. "I'm probably annoying you, blabbering on with my big mouth," Audriana laughed "So I'll let Hannah explain" Hanna looked up "Well, okay," she said, pulling herself up to a sitting position.

"I'm bi too, my parents aren't like fully against gay people, but they don't believe I am one, which I keep telling them I'm not anyway," the boy, Josh, said. "The whole bi concept goes right over their heads." He shot a wink towards Audrianna, who looked slightly startled, but didn't respond. Hannah smirked and nudged her friend with her elbow, muttering, "Stop being so dry," into her ear.

"So what's your guys story's?"
Before Hannah could respond, Audrianna butted in. Gettig the first word, of course.
"First things first, I don't think I introduced myself! I'm Audriana, and that's Hannah. To answer your question, I grew up in a super religious family, so of course they almost had a heart attack whenever I did something out of line. Dying my hair pink, skipping bible school, being bi. They just don't get it. So they sent me here."
Hannah opened her mouth to speak, but again, Josh spoke;
"They seem kinda strict, are you religious as well?"
"I'm not really into anything against who I am," Audrianna responded, though by what she meant by that, Hannah didn't really know.
"I'm here. That's all you need to know, right? And all you care about, too." Hannah had never been that comfortable sharing her past, even if it wasn't exactly an ugly one.

"And I'm sorry, but I couldn't help overhearing you guys talking before, do you know each other? I mean, Pre-PURITY?" He ruffled his hair, making Hannah smile. She had to admit, he wasn't bad looking. That didn't mean she liked him though.
"I'm probably annoying you, blabbering on with my big mouth," Audriana laughed. "So I'll let Hannah explain."
Hannah shot a joking glare in the girl's direction, since Audrianna probably knew that Hannah wasn't exaclt one for small talk. She plastered a smile on her face though, and turned to Josh. "Well, okay," she said finally, sitting down on a bed. "Basically, we knew each other in Elementary school. We were sorta' best friends, y'know? Haven't seen the girl since." She ruffled her friends hair and grinned.

'I'm not really into anything against who I am," Audriana replied. Fair point I guess, Josh thought to himself, considering their at a religious camp against their will, but these days he kinda viewed faith as a support mechanism rather than a set of morals and rules.
Hannah said something, but he didn't catch it fully. Crap, he thought, should I ask for her to repeat herself or is that awkward? He looked at Hannah again, there was a slight frown and she had her arms folded, she looked a little evasive about something, so he changed the subject.
'And I'm sorry, but I couldn't help overhearing you guys talking before, do you know each other? I mean, Pre-PURITY?'
'I'm probably annoying you, blabbering on with my big mouth,' Audriana laughed. 'So I'll let Hannah explain.'
Hannah shot the girl a fake icy glare, Josh wasn't sure how much she was joking though. She finally sat down on the bed.
'Well, okay,' She smiled 'Basically, we knew each other in Elementary school. We were sorta' best friends, y'know? Haven't seen the girl since.' The smile grew wider as she ruffled Audriana's pink hair. They're kinda sweet together, Josh thought to himself, I wonder if they.. and I wonder why they didn't stay in touch?
'So, Hannah' his eyes darted between the two girls awkwardly, questioning the possibility, he sat up straight 'It is Hannah right? Are you bi as well?' His eyes widened 'oh, I hope I'm not interrupting a personal reunion or anything, am I?'

"Oh, I hope I'm not-" "All campers please report to the auditorium. Thank you." The voice echoed through the camp, cutting Josh off mid sentence. "I have no idea what that's about, but we better go," Audriana said, standing up, while pulling Hannah up by the hand "You too, Josh," She added when he didn't stand up. He stood up, and followed them into the auditorium. "Might as well all sit together," Audriana said, choosing a seat. Hannah and Josh also sat down. Audriana tapped her foot, waiting for something to happen. "So, Hannah, how've you been?" She asked, hoping to catch up with her old friend.

"So, Hannah," Josh said. She noticed him eyeing Audrianna and herself, almost warily. We're at a gay camp, Hannah, she thought to herself. Think about what this must look like.
But Josh quickly moved on to what he was about to say. "It is Hannah right? Are you bi as well?"
"Yup, Hannah. And no. Not bi." She smiled. "So you won't have to worry about me."

Josh's eyes widened, as if he had just realized something.
'"Oh, I hope I'm not-" "-All campers please report to the auditorium. Thank you."
Hannah wasn't sure what he was just about to say, as she never had the oppurtunity to ask, for at that moment, Audrianna piped up; "I have no idea what that's about, but we better go." She stood up and grabbed Hannah's arm, pulling her to her feet. Hannah smiled warmly at her friend, as she followed her out of the cabin.
"You too, Josh!" she called back. Hannah let out a small, giddy laugh of nervousness and excitement.

The three arrived at the auditorium.
"Might as well all sit together," Audriana suggested, as she popped into a seat. Audrianna had always seemed to be the oneho liked to be in te spotlight, or in charge, to Hannah. Or maybe it was just her out-going personality.

Hannah took a seat beside Audrianna, and started playing with her hands nervously.
"So, Hannah, how've you been?" Audrianna asked, awakening Hannah from her daydream.
"Oh, y'know. Fine, I suppose," she gave a small laugh, before continuing. "Well, I'm here, so not fine, I guess. But I'm alive." She shrugged. "And Ben and Jack are good, too. Y'know, in case you were wondering." Audrianna obviously knew who Hannah was referring to; Her brothers, Ben, aged eighteen, and Jack, aged fourteen.
"Oh, and Ben's moved out. But, anyway, enough about my brothers," she rolled her eyes, and shot Audrianna a teasing grin. "What's been happening with you?"

"Oh, y'know. Fine, I suppose," Hannah said, laughing as if something had dawned upon her."Well, I'm here, so not fine, I guess. But I'm alive." She shrugged. Good point Audriana thought "And Ben and Jack are good, too. Y'know, in case you were wondering." She immediatly knew who Hannah was talking about, her brothers, Ben, aged eighteen, and Jack, aged fourteen.
"Oh, and Ben's moved out. But, anyway, enough about my brothers," She shot Audrianna a teasing grin. Hannah knew that she used to have a crush on Ben, so she stuck her tounge out. "What's been happening with you?"

"Well, I'm alive, too," giggled Audriana "Duh," She thought about what to say next "I dunno, my love life has been a bit boring. I've only dated one girl, and I have yet to date a boy," She smiled in Josh's direction, but he wasn't paying attention. "And stop teasing me about Ben already! That was a while ago," Audriana playfully punched Hannah in the shoulder.
