Takashi is a golden boy in all aspects of the word. He stands at 180 cm, and his lean body is proof of his athletic ability. He walks with confidence, and a charming smile, no matter how slight, is always on his face in public, as Takashi would never allow his charismatic facade to crumble. Even without his careful grooming, it is impossible to deny that Takashi is naturally handsome. His skin as a slight tan to it, and his spiky, yet silky golden-blonde locks frame his face in an eternally tousled state. Takashi's cat-like eyes are arguably his most captivating feature. They're an amber-orange shade, with hints of forest green. Takashi's European genes are obvious in his appearance, and make him an eye-catching figure.
Takashi has a liking for warm tones and black, and always wears the trendiest street clothes. Outside his day life, Takashi gives up his bold color choices in favor of warm-toned neutrals, and allows himself to indulge in some of his more expensive tastes. He enjoys wearing silk button-ups, and trench coats when it's colder.

As someone who is naturally good with people, Takashi's charisma, along with his genial nature and his athletic abilities, has propelled him to the top of the social ladder. He is the person everybody wants to be friends with -- the charming top athlete who would help an old lady across the road without hesitation.
But beneath his magnanimous character, Takashi's fatal flaw consumes him. His need to gain others' approval (especially that of his family) drives everything he does. Although he can charm everyone at school with little effort, his family isn't fazed by the warm and considerate senior his classmates love. Takashi wants to be the cunning male heir his father has always wished for. He needs to be the calculating and intelligent character he so admires out of his sister. To his family, Takashi is a charismatic airhead. He is too soft, too concerned for the well-being of others, too idealistic for the cruel world he's supposed to dominate.
But Takashi both respects and agrees with his family. And so he tries to be like them, to be like the people he admires most. Takashi joins his sister in her discreet criminal activities. He blackmails his peers when it suits him best. Takashi's desire to emulate his family overpowers his natural altruism. But even though he understands the characteristics he needs to be at the top, Takashi isn't getting any smarter. He's brilliant at bluffing, and manipulating people through their emotions, but he isn't capable of being the mastermind his father and dearest sister are. He doesn't understand how to utilize the tools he's learned from his family. Takashi's biggest insecurity is that he's not made for the role he was groomed for, and underneath that realization lies the idealism and concern for humanity he has suppressed to be someone he cannot be.

Born to politician and businessman Kanayama Kenji, and powerful German business magnate Angelina Kiefer, Takashi grew up with mountains of cash, a grand legacy to uphold, and an ever-absent mother. As the youngest of four and the only son of the famous Kanayama family, Takashi drew a fair amount of attention. But Takashi was quick to realize that the attention was undeserved. All three of his older sisters graduated top of their class, with a few extra talents on the side. His oldest sister, Rina (利奈, +10 yo), was simply the ideal heiress, and was quick to establish a position for herself in their mother's company in Germany. Hikari (光, +6 yo) was a world-class violinist and pianist. And Aki, (燦, +2.5 yo) the sister Takashi was closest to, had a mind far sharper than her three siblings put together, and made her name known by cracking the final Kryptos code. Takashi, on the other hand? Merely an above-average athlete who was below-average at school, with a pathetic dream of becoming a singer.
It was made clear to Takashi and his sisters that they were to uphold the Kanayama legacy. For Rina and Hikari, there was little issue doing so. But Takashi couldn't even place in the top ten of his class, much less stand a chance to his family's expectations. And Aki, who was far from lacking in intelligence, had very little interest in the family business, and was deemed the problem child over Takashi, the family idiot. Perhaps their positions as black sheep was what caused Aki to take a liking to Takashi. Although she preferred isolation, she was always particularly fond of Takashi, guiding him through his shortcomings. After introducing Takashi to her turf in the Red Light District, Takashi determined that although he would always strive towards being the son his father wanted, Aki was the singular person he would admire above all.
He is Kanayama Takashi; subpar student, talented athlete, aspiring musician, and eternally trailing at Aki's heels.
