Clive Adavahr

First prince of Terrowen, "The Prince of stone"

0 · 1,213 views · located in Khadian

a character in “Quest for the Everstone”, as played by blueluckster

Description

Name:Clive Adavahr

Age:21

Gender:Male

Appearance: Clive is an even 6" with ocean blue eyes and short brown hair. Although he is a prince, you'd never know it based on how he carries himself. He spends most of his time training and learning in the castle, but whenever he gets the chance he often goes out and helps people in his kingdom. Everything from saving a cat stuck in a tree to helping save people from a cave in at the mines. He often uses his powers to assist him in his endeavors and practices with them daily.

Personality: Clive has never been called shy by anyone with a brain. He always does what he believes to be right no matter the consequence, even if it means disobeying his father. He would rather jump in front of a armor piercing arrow then allow any one of his men take the hit instead and believes that if he doesn't lead his men from the front in battle, he would not be worthy of being a leader. Clive is most afraid of failing his people and he'd give his life for them, although he'd put up a hell of a fight if possible before it came to that.

Ability: Affinity:Earth Clive can move any type of rock or metal. At the moment he has a maximum range as well as a limit to how much he can lift. The denser the metal the less he can move.
Most known for using his power to shield people from damage.

Wish: For his fiance to be safe in his arms.

Weapon of choice: Double edged sword 30 inches (2.5 feet) with a 8 inch long handle studded with amethyst. Twin daggers he carries concealed as well as a pouch with various items such as poisons, sleep tonics and smoke bombs. Wears full armor, the best that can be bought. Heavy and solid with few openings.(no helmet)

Kingdom: Terrowen

Background: Clive Adavahr is the first son of the king of Terrowen. He and his younger brother have been trained since they could walk in the arts of combat and the finer points of etiquette. He has learned battle tactic and the ability to use a large variety of weapons as well as how to fight against many other styles. He has been trained in how to use magic from one of the greatest mages known since he was very young and often fought mock battles with his brother, attempting to make each other stronger. In his free time when he isn't training, studying or patrolling with his men he likes to speak with the townspeople. He often walks around town helping with odd jobs or just chatting with people to see if he could do anything to improve their quality of life. He spent most of his life going so fast and only thinking about his next duty or the next thing he needed to learn until the day his father introduced him to Arwen. The two met at a party celebrating the two kingdoms long standing peace and it was the first time Clive's world stopped. They danced and spent the entire time at the party together until it was time for her to go. He assumed his father had introduced him to a rich noble or someone that could further the prosperity of their throne, but it wasn't long until his father told him the truth. His father, the king of Terrowen wanted him to marry the princess of Hanivall. He assumed his father wouldn't give him a choice in the matter, as it was accustomed and resigned to just go with it. The more time he spent with Arwen the more he fell in love and the less he spent going 'too fast'. He began to start thinking of more then just Terrowen. About a month after they had started seeing each other, he was helping out in the mines. Clive was using his powers to assist some of the miners in moving some of the larger rocks out of the way so they could continue digging when he saw the vision.

So begins...

It was very quickly obvious that her plan had failed. She had scared the two. The girl reached into her pocket and pulled out.. a light? Viola closed her eyes and even blocked the light with her hand, but she could still see the shine. She knew what it meant and she was happy to be right. Their footsteps disappeared behind her as they ran past. She sighed. Well.. so much for that plan. she thought. Then she realized they were running towards where the others were and cursed to herself before taking off after them. Her companions were about to get a scare which would only scare the two neophytes more. And that wouldn't help anything.

She had just entered their cave when the boy screamed about dead bodies and the girl looked around in fear. They probably looked like quite a sight. A girl with thin eyes and a sparkling dress that was a little ragged at the edges. A boy who clutched a mirror beside a wall of vines and dirt. And a sleep deprived thief with a fiery arm appearing before them in the dark. Yeah... that could've gone better... I should've really thought that one through.

She walked further into the cave and stopped before the two. She kneeled down before them and held out both of her hands. She stashed away her knife showing she wouldn't harm them and her fire had disappeared leaving only the reddish-orange stone behind. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you. I haven't... slept yet so my mind is a little.. dull. Do you have a stone like this one? Did you see the princess?" She realized that this was probably a lot for the two to take in at once. She noticed just how small the boy was and pulled out a treasure she had taken just the other day at the market. A small wooden figurine of a horse. She didn't know why she kept it or even wanted it. She wasn't a big fan of horses and it wasn't like she was collecting carvings. "Here. A peace offering. My name is Viola. I'm from Donnally." She gestured to her companions. "That's Rowas from Xayen. She's new to the group, too. And Clive from Terrowen. What about you two?"

Arwen almost had Clive asleep when the newcomers came around the corner. He didn't even have enough time to react as they tripped over him, kicking him in the chest. He felt the pain but quickly rolled over and grabbed his sword. He was about to draw it when he saw for the first time what he was dealing with. There was a scared little boy as well as what seemed to him as a fragile girl trying to be tough in the face of danger. Clive's anger quickly faded as he paused to get a better look at the duo. He recognized them from Terrowen but he couldn't place their names. For a moment he forgot all about what he had just revealed to Arwen. Instead of trying to figure out who they were he silently hoped they wouldn't recognize him. He never thought there could be a down side for trying to help so many people from his kingdom so often. Clive wasn't sure having more people on their quest would be a good thing. The more people they had meant more people he had to protect as well as increase the chance of betrayal. He almost scoffed to himself at the thought. "There was no way these girls would turn out to be traitors," He thought to himself. He looked back into the mirror and told Arwen what had happened based on what he had heard. As he spoke, he could see Arwen's eyes light up at the thought of more assistance for the quest. Clive knew the princess was too trusting but he also knew there was nothing he could do about it. He held the mirror up towards the group to let the princess introduce herself.

Viola smiled as the boy took the small figure from her and then grinned at the girl. "So you're a part of the quest now, too, huh? Welcome to the group." She said as she motioned to her companions, shrugging off sleep. "Each stone has a special power. I guess we discovered what yours does...and mine." she added sheepishly. Again, she hadn't meant to frighten them. The might be a thief but scaring children was not part of her repertoire. Clive muttered to himself and then started explaining to Arwen in the mirror what had occurred. She was about to explain to Altair and Carina what he was doing, when he held up the mirror to the group.

The Princess was overjoyed at the fact more had been added to the quest. She was a little distraught that the latest seemed to have brought a young child with her and she hoped that it was for good reason. This was a dangerous journey and no place for a child. But, she still put on a smile and introduced herself to the group. "Well look at all these faces!" she chirped. "It's a pleasure to meet those new to the cause. My names is Princess Arwen Alondriell of Hannivall. I have summoned you all for a quest to give the world back it's magic at the sacrifice of my soul--which is trapped in the mirror realm. It was to keep the stone safe from a betrayal in my court." She frowned and her hands tightened into fists. "This is a dangerous mission. I'm not going to sugar coat it for our younger audience. Can you protect him?" She asked the girl who appeared to be his sister.

Carina and Altair listened to the others talk and watched the girl in the mirror. Carina listened as the Princess talked about the younger audience, which she knew meant her brother. You're seriously asking me if I can protect him?!?" she said with anger in her voice. "He shouldn't even be here! But for some reason when I touched the stone since he was touching me it pulled both of us here! You act like this is my fault! She said as she stood up helping her brother up off the ground. "I remember the vision with you in it. How was I supposed to know that touching that stupid stone would bring him with me?!? I would have made sure he wasn't anywhere near me! He needs to go home! I can protect him against dangers..but not against.. Before finishing she trailed off looking at her brother with a frown on her face. "She's very good at protecting me against things trying to hurt me, but she can't protect me against my own sickness. he said looking back at his sister. He walked towards her and hugged her. "She's very protective over me, so please don't get mad at her for freaking out." he said looking at the others around them.

Rowas had just rolled over when someone stumbled into where they had made camp for the night. She sat up quickly and did inventory of who was there; Clive, Viola, Rowas, and two new people. With that she stood up quickly and put her back to the wall. Viola made introductions and gave the young boy, Altair, a small horse figurine.

Her mind was still reeling from finding out the princess from her vision was trapped in a mirror and Clive was talking to her as if it was normal. She was so confused and grew more confused by the second.

While still leaning against the cave wall, Rowas said, "So you are his older sister, Carina and Altair's sick and now you are both here, with another shard, to help us put the Everstone back together? And the Princess of Hanivall is trapped in a mirror that Clive talks to as if that is normal. Am I the only one that thinks that this is the weirdest situation ever!?" Her voice kept growing louder and when she ended, she was close to shouting.

"Carina can we help her please? She seems to really need it." Altair said looking at his sister with sadness in his eyes. Carina looked down at her brother and sighed. "Altair we need to go home. Your medicine is there and you need that medicine." She said putting a hand on his arm. "No! That's not right Carina and you know it! Since when have we ever put ourselves before other people? Never!" Altair said jumping up his voice getting louder. "I know that Altair but it's different when we have your medicine on hand. But what happens when you have an attack? What happens if I can't stop the attack?" She said looking at him. "Then I'll die! But I'd rather die trying to help someone then die doing nothing at all!" he yelled at her pushing her hand off his arm. Carina's eyes opened wide looking at Altair. She was shocked and proud all at one time. Shocked that her brother would talk about dying. But proud that he would be so willing to risk his life for someone elses. She got on her knees and put her hand back on her shoulder. "You know Altair, I sometimes wonder if you should be the older sibling. Yes, we can stay and help. With whatever it is we have to do." she said smiling. Altair's face lit up with joy and hugged his sister tight. "Thank you! Thank you Carina!" he said hugging her. Carina hugged him back and then looked towards the others. "If we do help, we need to get medicine for him. He can't do much without it. I wont lose my brother helping someone else. He's the first on my list to protect." She said smiling towards her brother. "I'll do my best not to be a burden to all of y'all!" Altair said turning towards the others and smiling brightly.

The princess watched and listened as the others gave their piece. She smiled at the little boy and wished she could be there to offer some comfort, though it seemed he was doing the comforting. The princess's smile was sad as she explained, "I'm.. not entirely sure how we can get the medicine to him in as quick of time as he needs it. Maybe.." Her gaze moved to the edge of the mirror where she assumed her love, Clive, stood. "Clive, do you know of an herb or anything that would help?" She looked back to Carina. "What exactly is his ailment? Also, Rowas, was it? You're forgiven. As I said. this is a lot to take in."

Roderick Von Firth stood, glaring at the mirror. He hadn't seen the princess for hours now and silently began to wonder if she had found a way to escape. Then he shook his head, waving his hand at the air as if to dispel the thought. It was impossible to escape that realm without breaking the mirror her soul was originally trapped in. He made sure to ask the mages and scribes to confirm and they had, albeit reluctantly. The fools still held allegiance to the fallen royalty, though they'd never admit it. Not to Roderick's face. Maybe he could make an example of them...but no. He needed their minds.

He heard footsteps behind him and turned. There stood guards and a young man with pale hair and piercing blue eyes. Roderick grinned. They found the boy as instructed. He rubbed his hands together. Excellent.

"Braith!" He greeted the boy, stepping towards him and taking his wrist in his hand. The boy returned it with a nod of his head. "Good to see you, my boy. Have the guards passed on my instructions?" Braith nodded, ever the silent spy. Then he said, "Yes, my lord. And I look forward to the Everstone being whole again." He brushed some of his pale hair from his eyes. "Good. Here. Take this as well. It'll allow you to talk to Arwen." Braith smirked as he took the small, polished hand mirror. The guards had told him of the man who left under Roderick's employ, but failed to make his first report. He would make his Lord proud. Roderick didn't even have to pay him a single piece of copper to partake in such a mission. He was to receive some funds, but only as a means to stay alive. "Just tap the glass and she'll come to you. As for a shard, unfortunately, you're on your own. However, you have a stunning sixth sense for someone without magic so I'm sure you'll find another shard soon. "

Braith merely nodded and was escorted from the room. Roderick was left grinning madly once more at the mirror. He reached out with a hand and tapped on the surface, the sound echoing throughout the mirror realm. If she didn't show, he would have to punish the young princess the only way he knew how. Threatening her body. He was working on furthering his plan with the corpse like body anyway. He just needed a proper soul. "Guards" he commanded, "Bring me Dorina."

Braith roamed the grounds beyond the castle, waiting for the sound of a snick that told him magic was nearby. The longer he traveled, the further from the castle he had to journey until he was at the Glass Lake. That's when he felt it. An unexplainable tug at his core. A shard was nearby. He walked to the calm, glassy surface of the lake and gazed into the pool of water. He could hear the humming, but beyond his light blue eyes staring back at him, he didn't see anything of consequence. Just a strange blackish stone that suddenly seemed clear in a blink and then blacke once more. Well that certainly seemed magical to Braith. He reached down and wrapped his fingers around the stone. The world seemed to disappear from around him. In a blink, he was somewhere else. Somewhere dark.

He could still feel the cool surface of the stone in his hand and he smirked. Step one: complete. He held tight to the stone, hoping whatever it did would be of some use, and began to walk. Off in the distance he could hear voices. This was easier than he thought.

((sorry for tossing another character in so soon and so quickly. I need to start moving Roderick's plans forward and I need this character type. Since Claw seemed to have abandoned the rp (who played this role as Jurgan or whatever) I have instead given the task to Braith. He won't come into play until my next post though.))

There was so much going on at once. One second it was just Viola and Clive on a quest to save Arwen and now the group more then doubled. He looked around at the new members one at a time then looked over towards Viola. "I know a place we can go that isn't far from here. There isn't a better place to get medicine without entering the city, but we'll have to go in the morning." He thought about sleep but for some reason he wasn't tired in the slightest. Just from a glance he could tell Viola was tired. "I'll keep watch for the night." He said while he pointed to the mirror. "Can't sleep anyway!" He figured Viola wouldn't like the change of plans but it wouldn't do them any good if they were both staying up for the night. Clive walked over to the water and put his hand in it. The instant he felt the water he felt revitalized. He felt it before but now that he was tired it seemed more effective. He cupped his hands together and brought water from the fountain to his lips. He felt the cool water run down his throat and didn't even feel hungry any more. Clive pulled both crystals out of his pockets and once again commanded the water to listen. He moved the water through the air towards the back of the room. He knelt down and began making two more beds for the new arrivals, which took considerably less time then before. He purified the excess water and put it back into the fountain. He looked over at Carina and Altair and knelt down to look at the kid. "Go on and try it," He said while pointing to the bed.

Altair tilted his head to the side as he watched Clive make the beds. "Go on and try it." he heard Clive say. He nodded and laid down on the bed looking up at Carina. "Thank you." she said slightly looking towards Clive as she sat down on the bed and Altair laid his head in her lap. Carina started to brush his hair out of his face as she sighed softly. "Get some sleep and hopefully tomorrow we can get some medicine for you." She said quietly as she leaned back closing her eyes. She started to think to herself about everything that has been going on in just one day. A kingdom over thrown, the Princess locked in a mirror, people with magic, her herself having the power of light. And now her own brothers life in danger just for having been close to her. She was mad at herself for picking up the stone. She wishes she would have left it alone. Then her brother would be safely at home and none of this would be happening.

Viola watched, eyelids growing heavy. She shook her head hoping to dispel her exhaustion for only a moment or two more, but it was not a success. She rubbed at her eyes with the back of her hand and stifled a yawn. "I'll keep watch for the night Clive offered her. She opened her mouth to object, but had very little reason to do so. Instead, she nodded and moved to her mossy bed and laid down to sleep. Almost as soon as her head rested on the moss, she was unconscious and moving through a very different realm than the one the princess currently occupied: The dream realm.

The princess watched and listened to the others. She didn't have much else to say to the group now that everyone was calmer. Well.. there was one thing she could say. "Thank you, everyone," she said. It was soft, but the strength of her voice allowed her words to carry through the cave. "I know it wasn't easy and many of you didn't even choose to be here, but thank you." As the others lay down for sleep, she heard a knocking. It was faint and distant, but there was no mistaking who was on the other side of the surface the knock originated from. Roderick. She clenched her jaw and her hands curled into fists once more. By the end of this journey she would have nail marks permanently scared into her palm. She looked sadly at Clive and said, "He calls to me. I have to return when he does. He has my body and if I ever want to be with you again, I need it to be in one piece." She kissed her fingers and pressed them to the glass before turning and moving towards the sound.

Roderick stood before her, that terrifying mad grin etched into his features. "What do you want?" The man continued to grin. "Now, now. Is that any way to address the person in charge of your body?" She glared but bowed slightly at the waist, her arms flourishing a little. "What can I help you with Lord Von Firth?"

"That's better. I need nothing at all from you actually. I just wanted to make sure you knew who was in charge. Be on your way to wherever you are. Know that when I seek information. You're to give it to me. Otherwise I cannot promise the safety of your body."

Anger rose up in her chest and she backed from the surface. She didn't want to give the man satisfaction of watching her react to his words. As quickly as she left, she returned, knocking on the surface so Clive knew she was there.

Meanwhile, the guards had retrieved the bodacious and blonde woman that Roderick had requested: Dorina. Roderick kissed her softly on the cheek. More as a mark of ownership and not of fondness. "Dorina I have a request of you and I'm sure you would not object." The woman grinned at him, the kind that echoed his own. "My love, what did you have in mind?"

Braith stood in the darkness of the cavern, watching his targets as they prepared to settle down for the night. The group seemed awfully big and he didn't want to add to the noise. It seemed they were taking off towards a town in the morning and he decided it was the perfect opportunity to join in the fun. He sat down and leaned against the wall. He closed his eyes and allowed himself to rest for the night. Tomorrow his work would being and he was going to make his master proud.

Clive nodded towards Carina in a silent you're welcome and headed back towards the center of the cave. He looked at the mirror and once again saw the beautiful face of the princess looking back at him. Even when he was back home and everything was normal he couldn't spend so much time with her. It was a sad fact that a terrible tragedy had to happen for them to spend a decent amount of time together. Clive knew with both Arwen's and his schedule and duties it would always be difficult to find time but this incident forced him to see how great it would be if they were actually together. The thought of it both scared him and made him incredibly happy, that is until he thought about the possibility of failing this quest. He shook that idea from his thoughts. He would NOT fail! Arwen suddenly had a look of confusion on her face then annoyance. She kissed her fingers and touched them to the glass as a form of goodbye and Clive did the same on the mirror opposite Arwen. He smiled to her as she left, hoping to give her courage to face the traitor Roderick. He walked over towards the front of the cave and sat near the fountain. The prince used his re-found earth power to send tiny shock waves into the ground. Each shock wave would bonce off objects and it made something like a 3D map in his head. He saw the steady breathing of everyone in the room. The only exception was the boy who was sound asleep next to his sister. His heart beat a bit differently and he could tell he was sickly. Once everyone near was accounted for he pushed further out with his powers so he could be better aware of his surroundings. He began to map outside until every rock and boulder was accounted for in his map up to as far as his powers could reach. After he finished with the outside he ventured inside the cave. It wasn't long before he felt another heart beat not too far from the group. He focused hard on that object but it seemed as if the source of the heart beat was asleep. He silently walked across the room and sat down at the very end of the cave where the light from the fire ended. Clive was no fool, He set his sword off his belt and rest it on his thigh. He held his hand on it's hilt and closed his eyes. He wouldn't sleep but it helped him focus more on controlling his power. There was one thing the prince knew for certain though, There was no way anyone could beat him when he was surrounded by rock. A couple minutes after he set himself up to protect the group, Arwen returned and tapped on the mirror. He opened his eyes and almost broke the connection. He kept it going slightly in the background, just enough to keep watch of the stranger and spoke to the princess. "There's someone else in the cave with us but they don't seem to be making a move. It might be another shard holder but just in case I'm keeping an eye out." He showed her his smile again like he always did to cheer her up before he spoke again. "What did the traitor want?" He said curiously.

Arwen saw Clive's smile and instantly felt better. It's so strange to miss someone so much. "What did the traitor want?" he asked her. Her smile faded and her eyes turned steely. Not towards Clive, but Roderick. She almost didn't want to tell him what Lord Rodrick said to her, but hated the silence as she allowed it to stretch on. "Lord Roderick" she said with disgust as if the name was acid on her tongue, "wanted to remind me who was in charge. That I have to listen if I want my body intact." The second part of his words came back to her and she squeezed her eyes shut. "I also have to report any new information to him. I'll try not to give anything to damning. I wish I could freeze the blood in his veins."

At Arwen's words Clive balled up his fists. He wanted to smash his fists against the stone wall and pretend it was Rodrick. It wouldn't do him any good and it would wake everyone up but it would make him feel a bit better. He thought against it. The group already had a hard day and could use all the sleep they could get. He looked at Arwen and he could tell that she knew what he was thinking again. He quickly shoved the anger away and smiled again. She needed him to be strong for her. The prince spoke quietly. "Do whatever you need to so you can stay safe until we can find a way to rescue you." He paused and looked at the others that appeared to be asleep. "Even if you have to sell us out, do it!" Clive pulled out both shards from his pockets. "As a group we already have five shards with us and two safely at the tower." He knew he was just stating the obvious but sometimes it was necessary to keep things in perspective. "I don't know how many there are but now that we were lucky enough to find the earth shard I'm much more confident of our fighting strength." After a moment of silence he could hear Carina stirring. She hadn't been sleeping and she seemed to be walking in his direction. He quickly put away the shards and spoke up. "What are you doing awake?

As Carina is laying against the wall she sighs looking down at Altair. How can he sleep so peacefully after everything that happened? she wondered to herself. She couldn't figure out how he could be willing to risk his life for someone who he didn't even know. She knew her brother was a better person then she was, but she still wanted to protect him.

She slowly stood up gently laying Altairs head on the ground and she started to walk away. As she was walking she didn't even notice that she was walking towards Clive.

"What are you doing awake? Clive asked looking at her. She jumped slightly realizing that she hadn't been alone and then when she saw who it was she sat down on the ground across from him and looked back towards the sleeping group. "Couldn't sleep. There's just too many things that have happened." she said looking back towards where Clive was sleeping. "Yeah it must be a lot to take in." He said looking at her. "Whats the worst part?" he added. She looked up at him and then looked back down. "The worst part?" she laughed slightly. "Not even the fact that this is a dangerous situtation. I just want to be able to protect him, but I'm useless. I can't fight, I can't use this stupid stone." she said getting mad. "How am I supposed to protect him if I can't do anything? The only thing I can do is, I'm really good at with a bow. Give me a bow and arrow and I can hit anything. But mines at my house. It's at my house with his medicine. I can't do anything right." She said putting her head in her hands. "I just want to protect him, but clearly I can't." she said looking down.

[[Enter Time Skip! Normally I'd do a post, but Viola will need to be woken up, Braith won't come in until after they've left the cave, and Arwen can only communicate with Clive so... It's up to you guys! Sorry it's kind of annoying :/]]

Clive knew what Carina was going through. Maybe his brother didn't have a severe sickness but he often got hurt and Clive always felt like he needed to protect him. "For now let me take care of protecting him." He smiled kindly. "I have somewhat of an idea of where you can get a bow but for now it does your brother no good to stay awake worrying." Clive stood up and put his hand on Carina's shoulder for comfort. "Get some sleep we have a long day tomorrow." He stepped away and walked over to the water fountain. What was he doing promising to protect people. He knew he had his power back but he needed to focus on bringing Arwen back. Clive looked down at the fountain and saw his face. He looked tired but he could tell from the look on his face that he had purpose. He cupped water in both hands and splashed it on his face. Instantly he felt revitalized again. The prince walked over to the wall he created earlier and sat down. He brought the mirror to his face and smiled at the sight of the princess staring back at him. Still keeping an eye on the intruder in the cave, he talked to Arwen until the rain stopped.

Right when the rain stopped the sun came up. He hadn't realized how long they had been talking but it was good to be able to catch up. Clive moved the earth to create an opening in the wall leading outside. The brightness of the sun made it difficult for his eyes to adjust. It was about time for the group to get up. He thought about the best way to do that without making everyone worry so he turned back and looked at the wall he had created last night. A large wall of earth with a funnel like contraption made of earth coming out the center and reaching into the sky. He motioned his hand down and the wall fell silently down into the earth. He did his best to remove the shock wave of the earth retreating into itself. As it fell, light from outside flooded into the cave. Clive threw his arms into the air and stretched. It wouldn't be much longer until everyone inside woke up.

Carina nodded her head and went and laid down next to Altair and went to sleep. Later on Altair woke up seeing the sunshine and he stood up looking at Clive who was stretching. Altair walked to Clive and looked up at him with a smile on his face. "Good morning!" he said cheerfully. "Did you have any kind of fun last night watching over us? Did Carina sleep at all? Did you sleep at all? Is the Princess okay?" Altair flooded Clive with many questions but being 8 years old, it was kind of Altairs thing. Carina sat up looking over towards Altair and saw him talking with Clive. She smiled slightly remembering what Clive had said that night. She sighed in relief to see that Altair was okay and his health wasn't effecting him just yet. But she knew she needed to find a way to get medicine for him fast. And soon. She stood up and walked over to Altair kissing him on the forehead. "Morning Altair. Morning Clive." she said her eyes looking up towards Clive. She looked around and saw the others still sleeping and looked back towards Altair. "Come on Altair lets go to the water fountain so I can clean your face up." She smiled as he nodded and walked to the fountain. She turned towards Clive and looked at him "Thank you, for what you said last night. I appreciate it." She said as she started walking to the fountain.

When she got to the fountain Altair had already begun splashing his face with water. She knelt down next to him and and began washing the dirt off his face. "Hey Carina." He whispered to her quietly looking around to see if anyone else had woken up yet or could hear them. She looked up at him with a confused look on her face. "What?" She said in her normal tone of voice. He quickly covered her mouth with his hands and shushed her. "Carina. Whisper." he said looking around again. He removed his hands from over her mouth and looked back at her leaning towards her. "Haven't you noticed how familiar he looks?" he whispered looking towards where Clive was standing. Carina's eyes went to Clive as well. "Yes he looks familiar but no I don't know where from. He probably just looks like someone from home." she whispered back to him going back to washing his face off. "I know who he looks like!" he said a little louder with a bright smile on his face. Carina laughed and rolled her eyes, deciding to amuse her brother. "Okay. And who does he look like then?" she said turning to start washing her face. He leaned towards her and whispered "He looks like the prince!" he said smiling. She looked at him with a shocked look on her face. "The prince? Really?" she said. "Yes! That's him!" He said happily. She looked at her brother and couldn't contain her laughter anymore. "Are you serious? Altair that isn't the prince. When we get home we need to get your eyes checked." she said laughing as she turned back towards the fountain and continued to wash her face. "I'm not joking Carina! It's him!" He said loudly then quickly looked around to see if anyone woke up. "Altair. He is not the prince. Okay? The prince wouldn't be here. And in case you didn't realize, the prince is at home helping people there! He has Earth powers. Not water. Now drop the subject. Even claiming that he was him, could cause issues for him. " she said finishing up her face. He sighed looking down at the ground. "But Carina!" he said crossing his arms. "I said drop it Altair. That isn't him! So let it go." She said angrily. "This is not a time to joke around like that." She said standing up. He sighed and nodded as she walked away towards where they slept. "But I know that's him." he mumbled to himself looking down.

Carina walked over to where Viola was and leaned down slightly tapping her on the shoulder. "Viola. Viola, it's time to wake up." she said lightly trying not to scare the exhausted girl.

Viola tumbled through the darkness of her dreams. They were, disappointingly, shadow free. She missed her shadows. They were her friends even if they couldn't communicate... or really thing for themselves. Instead she dreamed of fire and how the contact was comforting and warm and not painful and burning as she had originally thought it would be. Distantly, voices trickled into her dreams, but she could not make out what they were saying. She rolled over, a grunt escaping from her chest and then sat up with a start as someone tapped at her shoulder. She reached for the dagger she kept on the "table" near her bed, but found it had disappeared. She blinked a few times in confusion and then remembered where she was. They were in cave. In Donnally. On a quest for a magic stone. She squeezed her eyes shut and rubbed her eyelids. "Sorry..." she muttered. "I must've overslept."

She yawned and peeled herself up from the mossy bed that Clive had made. Funny how comfortable plant growth could be. She opened her eyes and found a beam of light shining directly into her face. She hissed and hid her face in her hands. "Ugh.. why so bright?" She stumbled to the cave wall and used it to brace herself as her eyes adjusted. Then she walked towards their resident earthbender and medicine man and said, "So town? Maybe food?" was all she said as she stepped out into the light on the other side of the Earth wall.

Clive stood there eying the clouds far off towards the mountains. The wind was sending the storm away from where they were going which meant no more rain for awhile. The sun was climbing into the sky slowly yet powerfully, a beacon of light. The warmth of the sun made it seem like the day was going to be more peaceful then it actually was. The prince knew today wouldn't be easy. They would have to traverse the bandit and monster clad mountains to find the shard and they didn't even know where to start. From the one incident they had, they could assume the shard would be close to where it teleported them but they couldn't be sure. With any luck having multiple shards with them this time would make tracking it a bit easier. He felt his pockets to make sure the shards were still there, which he probably did too often. Despite the fact that he could sense their presence he still physically checked, but they were right where he kept them. Clive felt small shock waves in the ground heading towards his location. The only person this small in their group was Altair. Clive shook off his thoughts for the moment and turned to the approaching footsteps. Altair came walking up to him with a curious look on his face. He couldn't tell for sure but the kid looked familiar. His thoughts were thrown off by the young boys rapid-fire questions. There were too many questions to answer and luckily Carina came by to save him. She pulled Altair off and told him to wash his face. As she turned to join him she thanked him for last night. It wasn't as if he forgot, but it wasn't the top thing on his mind at the moment. He just smiled at her as she turned to walk away.

Clive turned back towards the trail leading away from the mountain that instead headed towards the city. With Carina's presence he remembered the little side quest they would have to undertake before they could go looking for the shard. Just as he was about to give up and decide to wing it he felt another set of footsteps heading towards him. This set felt sluggish through the earth like its owner had just woken up. That meant it was either Rowas or Viola. He couldn't tell the two of them apart yet with just the vibrations of the earth so he turned and looked towards the cave entrance. Viola walked out and attempted to adjust to the brightness of the sun. Clive silently chuckled and waited for her to speak.
"So town? Maybe food?" She said and he quickly remembered that they hadn't eaten. He didn't know why but whenever he drank some of the water from the fountain his hunger, thirst and tiredness went away and he felt more alert. He assumed it was just in his head at first but frequent trips throughout the night with the same effect must have meant it was a part of his new powers. Clive thought about that for a second and realized that he would have to think harder and continuously remember about feeding the group. There was also a suspicious thought in the back of his head that told him he would need to eat as well to keep his strength up. That water wouldn't be enough to sustain him forever so he would have to keep on it. He looked back towards the trail and thought about it for a minute. "The place we can go to get the medicine isn't in the city but near the outskirts. Besides it wouldn't be a good idea to actually enter the city with this many magic users." As he said that he gestured towards the cave filled with the rest of their party. "We'd have to pass a large stream to get to the doctor's villa anyway and I thought we could take a break and catch some fish. After we eat and get the medicine we can come back and look for the shard." Clive turned to look at Viola. "I have coin for the medicine and anything else the doctor might be able to provide if you agree that's the course we should take." He thought about it for a moment and realized Viola was actually from here. "Was there something you needed to get in the city?"

Clive looked back towards the group. "Well ... the only people that know the city are you and I and I think we both agree having everyone go together would be a bad idea." He turned back to look at Viola. "Maybe one of us should go in and buy a decent bow and some cloths and the rest should take care of Altair's medicine. We could go after we eat. However we do it we need to buy another small mirror also for a backup just in case." Clive looked at the ground. He didn't know if Viola would be more comfortable staying with the group or going alone into the city. He knew she was from Donnaly so she would know how to stay safe. Whichever she was more comfortable with he'd be happy to do.
