Sally blushed beet red when she heard the polite, crisp offer from the student before her. She was always so quick to lose her temper and usually regretted it immediately after. She was the sort whose temper burned quick and bright before sputtering out and leaving no trace. The young teacher knew that it was just her abundance of nerves that were making her so frazzled but it was nerve wracking. She was new to this school and she’d never really taught before, her students would be teaching her just as much as she them and she supposed now was a good a time as any to start.

“Oh God, of course you’d send a witness to my humiliation.” The young Englishwoman muttered at the ceiling before answering the young man. ”I do apologize for the scene. I could blame it on caffeine, or lack of sleep, nightmares… but I’ll be honest. I am new and I’m lost and your offer could not have come at a better time.” Sally finished with an impish smile, hoping that she hadn’t completely lost all respect at least if she ever had any to begin with.

“Right, anyway. I’m the new health teacher…nurse. Well, two for one combo deal, you lucky, lucky people. Sally Winters, and you are?” She introduced herself charmingly, forging right along from her previous humiliation and brightening at the prospect of finally finding what would be her lair for the year. She already had a million ideas about what she’d like to do with the space that was allotted to her, something which Sally preferred to focus on rather than the actual teaching or healing of her students.

Teaching intimidated her; she was loathe to admit it but generally hoped that the more experience she got under her belt the better she’d be at it. She consciously avoided the thought of actually nursing these accident prone students. Sally already dreaded the months to come that would be full of broken bones, contusions, flues and stomach viruses, but she’d been given these abilities for a reason. To use them.

Gabriel had finished his eggs some time ago, now only a lowly degrading pile of toast remained. On the table a fat book lay out before him, equations and mathematical answers scrawled across the page. He had a note book resting against one side of the book, jotting down various notes as he prepared for the lab he was going to begin with the students today. Thankfully, Gabriel did not begin classes till 11am with the First Year students, so he had plenty of time to get the lesson in order. Bartleby grabbed at a piece of toast and took a massive bite, crunching the bread as he stared down at his work.

A fluttering of his feathers signaled the approach of another being and Gabriel cast his in human blue eyes up to meet said individual. Eric approached, an orange in hand and his usual charismatic jovial nature surrounding him. The winged man sat back form his work, his wings stretching back from the chair as he greeted the headmaster with a nod.

"Your right. I did owe you $20" Raised brows signaled Bartleby's confusion, but he accepted the money none-the-less, "I forgot which game we had stakes on; or maybe I'm a deluded loser..." Eric spoke, shrugging at the thought. Gabriel chuckled slightly, his memory of the wager coming back to him as he recounted the event. Maybe a small amount of hustling on his part, but he knew the age old man could handle it. "You were holding back the first game weren't you? And I fell for it, like a sucker. And you're meant to be the angel?" Gabriel smirked, nodding his head at the thought. He swallowed the meal final, having finished chewing, and opening his mouth to reply only to have Eric beat him to it, "You eat, you're beat. Enjoy your winnings, for now."

Gabriels mouth hung open as the headmaster turned on his his heel and moved across the cafeteria. Of course, Eric and his flamboyant charismatic nature at it again. It still felt strange to think of the man as an employer rather then Professor Caydon- Gabriel had been one of the immortals top students when he had learned at the school. Shaking his head, Gabriel ran his hand through his blonde tresses and finished the piece of toast he held.

He closed the book with the notepad inside and stood, grabbing his try to walk it over to the bins. He kept his wings pulled in close as he walked, trying to avoid knocking out and unsuspecting students with his wingspan. Gabriel exited the cafeteria and made his way down the hall, heading to his classroom.

While it was still the beginning of school, Bartleby already had a stack of papers waiting for his attention. The first day of class had merely been a 'get to know the students' kind of day, so thankfully he did not need to grade. But he had school work he needed to finish, papers he needed to sign, and a few things he get in order for the Masquerade. As Extra Curriculars Director, Gabriel was in charge of most of the work that needed to be completed for the party to be pulled off correctly. He already had a sign in front of his classroom, welcoming students to sign up (extra credit promised) and volunteer to help with the dance. It was the beginning of the year though, so he was not so sure many would be joining them.

With a furl of his wings, he stretched them out as far as they could go and allowed them to hand limp now that he was in the confines of his own classroom. He took a seat at his desk, leaving the door open incase and students needed his attention. Turning to the pile of paperwork, Gabriel set to work signing and reading over the files.

Aiden was surprised when Jessie joined in the singing. He‘d paused briefly at the end of the fourth line, glancing at her to see if she was going to pull him off the bench, and she seemed to take that as invitation to join in. He grinned broadly. This was going to be great! As she entered the final part of the song he joined in, loud and clear, “The record shows, I took the blows and did it my way!” There was a bit of a pause for things to wind down. Then they finished in voices quieter than before but still clearly audible over the silent cafeteria, “Yes, it was my way.”

The song finished, he took Jessie’s hand and a deep bow. He figured she was doing the same, but he always closed his eyes when he bowed after a show. Looked more elegant that way. After the bow he glanced at Jessie, smiling a handsome smile, and said “You have an amazing singing voice, y’know that?” Or he tried to. Only she interrupted him about halfway through, hissing at him to get down off the table, for all the world as if she hadn’t joined right up with him.

Shrugging, he sat back down and munched happily on a waffle as she went on to explain how she was ready for the masquerade (Already? He thought. On the first day? They must do this every year.) ”Either way,” he remarked, ”I’m gonna need to find a mask by the end of the week at least. Maybe a nice coat. Ah, bet I’ll just find some town not too far away and zip across. Get it all done in an afternoon, y’know?”

He stretched out comfortably, polishing off the last of his fourth tray of food (he ate whenever he wasn't talking or performing) then glanced over at Professor McQuillen. “So what do you teach exactly? Not sure I heard.” And it would be good to know ahead of time which class he should really prepare for. Unless there were other hot teachers? That hadn’t occurred to him. This could turn out to be a very interesting school.

Jason Martin Blake

The woman in the hallway looked up briefly – not up at Jason, but up at the ceiling, muttering something. He made a point of listening through her ears and caught the tail end of it. Something about ‘humiliation.’ As he approached, though, she turned her gaze on him directly and spoke loud and clear. ”I do apologize for the scene,” she said, “I could blame it on caffeine, or lack of sleep, nightmares… but I’ll be honest. I am new and I’m lost and your offer could not have come at a better time.” This was accompanied by a smile he could only describe as ‘impish.’ He noted too that she had an English accent – somewhere northerly if he had to guess. “Right, anyway. I’m the new health teacher…nurse. Well, two for one combo deal, you lucky, lucky people. Sally Winters, and you are?”

Ms. Winters seemed eager to bury the subject of her outburst. Jason could certainly understand that - it was hardly becoming of a teacher, even a new one. Still, as she apologized he saw no sense in holding it against her. Besides, she would be teaching Health here for some time. They shouldn't get off on the wrong foot. ”My name is Jason Martin Blake,” he said, bowing his head slightly as he introduced himself. “I am a student of seven years at this school, studying to assist in teaching the sciences.” He had in fact been here when at least one of the current teachers was still a first-year student. Not that he had been in any position to take over the subject after his fourth year, being only sixteen at the time.

“If you would follow me,” he continued, “the office of the nurse is not far from here. From there the Health classroom is only a short walk further. As the breakfast period has only recently begun I would be happy to lead you to both.” After all these years he could have navigated the corridors of the school blindfolded, even without the sight of others guiding him. He could easily lead her there and still have time for a quick breakfast.

“Colour me your color, baby. Colour me your car. Colour me your colour, darling. I know who you are
Come up off your colour chart. I know where you're comin' from. Call me! On the liiine. Call me, call me any, anytime!
Call me! My looove. You can call me any day or night. Call me. Cover me with kisses, baby. Cover me with love. Roll me in designer sheets. I'll never get enough. Emotions come, I don't know why. Cover up love's alibi....”

A powerful female voice could be heard coming from behind the hanging vines and branches of the unusually large willow tree causing new students to stop and look as the vines parted to reveal a young, barefooted woman twirling out with small and colorful flowers popping up from under her feet as she walked towards the school, her knee-length hair decorated with small white daisies swishing. The sun seemed to shine brighter as the happy Amazon danced her way into the academy, apple in hand.

She paused briefly to visit the dormitory areas, banging loudly on the doors of Arturo and Divinia Castiglione, caring little whether she disturbed Arty's roommate or not. She adjusted her hair before continuing on, taking a bite from her apple, enjoying the beautiful morning as she hummed. She came to a sharp halt, causing a boy walking behind her to slam into her. “What the fuck?! Could you give a guy some warning next time? Bitch.” He hissed as he stood back up, having gathered his books. “You should really see the nurse about that situation on your face.” The thickly accented voice of Kaelana purred as she turned around with an expression that a girl gives her friend when a makeover goes awry. “What thing?” She almost laughed because he fell for the sitcom line. Almost. But the tall girl was too busy swinging her heavy fist into his face.

She smirked as he dropped his books and ran for the nurse's office, spewing more curses to her name. Shaking her head, she tuned her ears to the sound that had stopped her in the first place, a grin from ear to ear taking place on her face as she sprinted towards the noise.

Kaelana's smile was bright as she entered the cafeteria, throwing her arms out and belting out the rest of the song she had been singing earlier. “Call me! On the liiine. Call me, call me any, anytime. Call me! Oh my looove. When you're ready, we can share the wine. Call me! Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo, he speaks the languages of love. Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo, amore, chiamami, chiamami. Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo, appelle-moi mon cherie, appelle-moi. Anytime, anyplace, anywhere, any way!! Anytime, anyplace, anywhere, any day-ay!! Call me! My looove. Call me, call me any, anytime. Call me! For a riiide. Call me, call me for some overtime. Call me! My looove. Call me, call me in a sweet design. Call me! Call me for your lover's lover's alibi. Call me! On the liiine. Call me, call me any, anytime. Call me. Oh, call me, oo-hoo-hah. Call me my love. Call me, call me any, anytiiiiiiiiime.”

She grinned as she made her way over to Aiden and Jessie, the tattooed female blowing Aiden a kiss. “You know the only way I'll stop stealing your show is if you tryout for the Titans.” She cast a sideways glance to see Anastacia with her "older brother" Cheveyo. They looked similar in a few respects, his family adored her, and they had been friends since his first day at Maldoy so she often looked to him as the big brother she never had. She gave them a wave before turning her attention back to Aiden and Jessie. “So I'm going to see you both at tryouts, right?”

OOC: Will have the other three up ASAP.

Jessie exhaled in relief when Aiden managed to sit down again. She ate her food, and sucked the remainder of the nectarine off the stone, and started to drink her chai latte. She half listened to Aiden's plans, and just sat quietly. She finished her breakfast then looked towards Aiden, and answered quietly. "Well that sound great Aiden. You should join the Acapella group or tryout for one of the art groups if you like singing that much." She smiled slightly then looked on her phone, and saw that classes would start in a little while. "Oh yeah, never gave you that schedule. Here's the first year schedule." She handed Aiden a slip of paper with the first year schedule. "You've got English first up. I'm in my second year so I've got battle instead." She explained, pointing out the classes.

She sighed and rose from the table, picking up the little sparrow from the floor with the injured wing. "Well, I've got to go now. see you later I suppose..." She then left the cafeteria very hurriedly, her word print dress swaying nicely with her steps. Better find the new school nurse... She walked up the steps towards the nurse's room, moving quickly and then saw what seemed to be a new teacher and Jason. "Oh. Hey Jason." She looked him up and down before turning to the new teacher. "Hi. I'm Jessie Garlow. Evil apparently. Who exactly are you?" She reached out her hand after putting the sparrow on her shoulder. She smiled and blew a strand of hair off her face, eagerly awaiting to find out who this new teacher was.

“I'm awake, Lana! See you at breakfast!”

Divinia slid a pressed rose between the pages of her slightly aged book, marking her place as she offered a sigh before sliding out her phone and tapping the letters on the screen. Wén Xīn Diāo Lóng is quite an amazing read; I can't believe I've only just found out about it. Thanks again for getting me an untranslated copy. She sent her text off to the Headmaster and her future employer before smoothing out her skirt and standing to confront her vanity. She puckered her lips to apply ruby red lipstick, topping it off with a light layer of peach scented gloss.

She grabbed her binder and slipped the book inside, grabbing her leather journal and gently placing it inside her purse before heading out. She had been up for the past few hours studying theology in deeper thought than usual, taking heavy notes. She closed and locked the double doors behind her; Divinia didn't exercise her true powers often, but after deciding to remain at Maldoy and become the first Professor of Philosophy, she decided that she no longer wanted a roommate and had created her own reality within her room. Her room was her own little world that catered to her every desire and defied the laws of physics.

She shouldered her purse and was on her way, contemplating what she would have for breakfast when she paused and heard the last few notes of "Call Me" by Blondie. She smiled contently and shook her head as she made her way through the halls and down the steps towards the academy cafeteria; Apparently Kaelana was trying to wake the entire school. Divinia was fond of the rambunctious Amazon, trying her best to be alongside Cheveyo as the voice of reason when Kaelana and Arturo were up to their shenanigans. But she couldn't deny that it was often fun and refreshing to walk on the wild side with them every now and again.

She entered the cafeteria and headed right for the line where she grabbed a tray and served herself with a bowl of blueberry oatmeal, an orange, a carton of soy milk, and a banana nut muffin. Content with her choices, she was off to the table in the center of the cafeteria, the usual spot for Titans. She looked around at all those present, a tad surprised not to see her friend and intellectual equal, Jason Blake. He was usually among the first to breakfast. Shrugging, she grabbed her muffin and bit into it with her gaze curiously fixed on a girl sitting in a window alone.

OOC; Cheveyo and Arturo will be up soon. Philanie is open for interaction.

Donovan MatthewsDonovan shot out of bed as his alarm went off for the third time. ”Kae’s gonna kill me.” He repeated as he got dressed. He split on his vintage spider man tee, his slightly baggy skinny jeans - an oxymoron really but did he care? Nope.-, A red plaid shirt top his tee, his high top converses and his favorite green beanie. He very much liked the way he looked in hats. Some people had shoes, he had hats. He grabbed his backpack up quickly. He had a lot of studying to do but he’ll cram all that in later, the last thing he wanted to do was piss of Kae, she was hot and her temperament was just as fiery. Just as he was about to run out the door, his wrist watch alarm went off. ”Damn it all to hell.” He groaned and went back into his room. He set down his backpack, opened it and pulled out a black case. He unzipped it and pulled out the glucose meter. He pricked his finger, without so much as a breath, and pressed the meter to his bleeding finger. Once the blood was being read, He sucked the small hole in his finger and waited. After a moment. He got his results as sighed. 13.7. Not good. He put the meter away and grabbed the insulin pen. He rolled up his pant leg and stuck the needle into his thigh and pressed the plunger. He waited a moment, shook his leg to get the blood flowing and then proceeded to pack up his stuff and slung his backpack over his shoulder making a beeline toward the Titan of Tunes. I ran down the seemingly endless corridors and heard Kae’s powerful voice. He stopped, slid and stumbling into a wall before straightening himself and walking in casually, just as she finished with talking with a few others. ”What up!” He said and smiled at the group. ”What I miss?”

“I'm up! Be down in a minute!”

The Italian-American called from within his room, glancing and wincing to make sure he didn't wake up his roommate before adjusting his tie and fedora. He slung his briefcase over his shoulder and was ready to head out before rethinking. “Henry! Wake up, dude! Breakfast is calling our names and it would be positively criminal not to answer.” He picked up a few pillows and lobbed them at the slumbering strongman before heading outside into the hallway.

He was greeted by giggling girls that blushed and waved with a chorus of "Good morning, Arty." stroking his ego and painting his smile as he winked and made his way towards the cafeteria with his usual swagger. On his way did a young man rush past, nursing a busted lip and seemingly broken nose along with various other bruises and bumps adorning his face. Wild guess says Kaelana did it.

Donny breezed right by him likely having gotten a rude wake up call from Kaelana as well. He shook his head and pulled out his pocket watch, checking the time. He had plenty of time for breakfast; Those who were studying to become Staff or Professors didn't really have to be in any particular class on time. They needed only to study before proving themselves worthy and knowledgeable of their desired position. He was among few who were taking an extensive amount of years to study. He shoved his pocket watch back into his pocket before pulling out his silver flask.

The doors were opened by a few girls ahead of him so he simply slid on by and surveyed the area. Kaelana was addressing a guy that he assumed was either about to get beat up or recruited. His chocolate gaze fell onto his sister as he made his way over, snatching the orange from her tray with a grin as Cheveyo and Anastacia joined then with their usual coffees. The orange was suddenly no longer in his hand and instead a tray mirroring his sister's sat before him. His sister gave a light wink to which he responded with a grin. He was among the few who knew the extent of her abilities and was often a tad envious. But he loved her nonetheless.

Cheveyo Qaeltaqa & Philanie Ferreira

Cheveyo felt his girlfriend's grip tightened as they entered the cafeteria and he was positive that it was because of the girls around them trying to flirt with him. He usually didn't even pay them any mind because his Ana just gave him tunnel vision. He regarded the multitude of females with a polite smile and nod before kissing his girlfriend lightly. “Alright baby. I'll meet you at the table.” He turned to the large table of food where there was a line and found himself standing beside three of himself. Cheveyo was a really nice guy and was known among the Titans as such; The three Native Americans that were one grabbed trays and began to load up on breakfast for several others. Cheveyo had long since learned that having his clones eat and rejoin him would give him the world's absolute worst upset stomach.

Trays loaded high, they made their way to the center table, setting them in the center before becoming one again. “Hey, I'll be back in a sec. Dig in.” Cheveyo had become distracted at the sight of one lone student sitting in a window, recognizing her as Ana's new roommate. He strode across the cafeteria, stopping just in front of Nina.

Philanie looked up as she heard Cheveyo clear his throat. “Can I help you...?” She recognized him as the guy that was sleeping with her roommate. Her blue eyes took in his formal attire and her brows rose ever so slightly. He smiled politely and offered his hand. “Actually, I wanted to apologize for not formally introducing myself. I'm Cheveyo Qaeltaqa; Future Battle Professor. Everyone calls me Atreyu or Chevy. Pick your poison. I wanted to invite you to have breakfast with myself and some of my friends.” Philanie lifted a brow a grabbed her tray before standing alongside him. She shrugged before heading towards the table where she took a seat, shortly followed by Chevy. “Seems like I've been personally invited to the cool kids' table.”

She smiled up as she wrapped her arms around her boyfriend or at least one of them. Anastacia always tried her best not to get the real Cheveyo mixed up with a fake one Even if they were the same person, it made her feel as if she was cheating on him. Something she never wanted to do. She couldn't do that to her boyfriend. She lightly kissed him before sitting down in the couple's regular seats, setting down their two coffees. Her being stained with her pink lipstick while Chev's was perfectly fine. One Cheveyo started speaking to the table, she looked up at him with her big eyes. “Hey, I'll be back in a sec. Dig in.” She looked towards the direction he was looking, seeing a rather pretty girl with black hair. She then saw closely that it was her roommate and the girl Damon had told her to talk to as soon as possible. But, that was her. She didn't know why her boyfriend was going over to the girl. As he walked towards Nina. Annie released a sigh before setting her bag into his seat just so no one would take it. Even though most people knew who always sat next to her, even the newer people had seen Cheveyo and Ana around, being the cute couple they were.

They didn't get voted cutest couple for nothing. She looked towards Arty and his sister, Divinia as she tried to distract herself from being that over paranoid girlfriend she was feeling like. “So, let me guess. Kaelana woke you both up.” She said with a smile on her face, trying to mask the frown she had just a couple of seconds ago. Not long after Cheveyo had returned with Nina. She removed her bag from his seat before leaning her head on his shoulder with the genuine smile returning to her face. She looked at Nina before clearing her throat. “Hi Nina, I know that you're new here but my,” She glared over at Damon who was too busy talking to his little followers to notice her. “Friend, Damon wants to talk to you whenever you get the chance.” She and Damon weren't friends, whatsoever but she didn't know what else to call him; her ex, her puppetmaster? Not with Cheveyo next to her, she didn't need him to know that he still was manipulating the poor girl after two years. She looked at the time on her new phone before putting the phone back on the table and looking towards her Chevy. “We should get going soon, Chevy.”

"We volunteer!" She smiled toward Aiden before looking at Jessie, who didn't seem just as enthusiastic as the new kid was. "Uh, what I meant to say was... Oh, come on, it'll be fun!" She clapped softly as she spoke. “Wonderful. And with you there Aiden, we should finish in no time!” She added before looking around for Eric. So, in other words she zoned out of the conversation. "We can meet people and talk while we're at it. Plus with our powers we can get our shares done in no time. C'mon, I bet you always wanted to try that Disney trick where you get a bunch of woodland animals to do stuff for you. I'll even sing along!" She smirked as she continued looking around the dining hall before seeing him talking to another one of their friend and teacher, Gabriel. But, she quickly returned her hazel eyes back to Aiden before Eric had the chance to her staring. The last thing she needed was to be caught by her boss for gazing at him of all people. She looked back at Aiden and Jessie as she started to hear singing, and when she turned to see who it was. She saw that it was Aiden. "For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught!"

Then turned towards Jessie as the red head gave her opinion on volunteering "Been there done that, and who said I would volunteer? I am going to, but you should ask first." Ariana raised an eyebrow before speaking, “Thanks Jess.”
The woman said with sarcasm before seeing Jessie send an apologetic smile towards the Irish woman. Before she started singing as well. "To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels. The record shows I took the blows and did it my way! Yes, it was my way" They sounded good. She wouldn't go as far as saying that they were as good as some of the members of the acapella group that Ariana was the coach of but, with help they could definitely become great. Jessie hissed for Aiden to stop, clearly being embarrassed but at this school nothing really was unusual. "Anyway, I'm organised for the Masquerade, you don't need to get me anything." She chuckled before seeing Eric walk towards the table. She looked towards him smiling as he sat down next to her. ”I’m gonna need to find a mask by the end of the week at least. Maybe a nice coat. Ah, bet I’ll just find some town not too far away and zip across. Get it all done in an afternoon, y’know?” She was snapped back to reality as she heard Aiden. “You can talk to Anastacia over there. She the one with the golden hair,” She said as she pointed towards the table where the small Italian girl was sitting with Cheveyo right next to her with most of the other acapella members sitting around the table as well. “Her and her brother have tons of masks. It would save you some time and money.”

“So what do you teach exactly? Not sure I heard.” Aiden asked her. She had no problem saying what she taught, unlike most teachers who taught the classes that kids mostly dislike. Ariana taught them how to be creative and how to act. Not really the most difficult thing in the world. “I teach theater arts. You know, singing dancing, acting... The fun things people like doing in school not like history and all that boring stuff.” She said as she smirked towards Eric. After that Kaelana started singing before walking over to Aiden and putting her really tan arms around Aiden's shoulder. “You know the only way I'll stop stealing your show is if you tryout for the Titans. So I'm going to see you both at tryouts, right?” Ariana shook her head with a smirk on her face as she took a sip of her coffee. "Well that sound great Aiden. You should join the Acapella group or tryout for one of the art groups if you like singing that much. Oh yeah, never gave you that schedule. Here's the first year schedule." The woman looked at the yellow paper as it was handed to Aiden who had one of the "boring" classes that Ariana had said. "You've got English first up. I'm in my second year so I've got battle instead,"

Ariana looked at the time herself before Jessie excused herself and walked towards the new nurse. She turned her attention towards Aiden with a small smirk, “You should be heading to class as well, Mr. Dyre.” She turned her glare over to the man next to her “As should you, Professor Caydon.”

Aiden was more than pleased to hear that his new favorite teacher happened to teach his favorite class. He grinned broadly, already looking forward to the opportunity to spend some quality time with the beautiful professor. "No way, like my best class! We should- uh..." He noticed then that Ms. Mcquilen was once again not looking at him, but at the head bossman nearby. Seriously? How was he that distracting that she couldn't keep her eyes off him? Sure, he was handsome enough, but come on. She was like a schoolgirl with a crush. Normally girls looked at him like that.

But Aiden was himself distracted soon after by the arrival of a voice he knew well from last summer, down at the bars of Miami beach where he technically wasn't allowed to be in the first place. Kaelana Mãe Natureza came striding down the cafeteria, singing Call Me by Blondie at the top of her voice (and doing a lovely job of it) as she made her way toward them. Just as she finished her song she even blew Aiden a kiss. He caught it on two fingers and planted a kiss of his own on them. Just like he remembered her. She spoke up right after. “You know the only way I'll stop stealing your show is if you tryout for the Titans. So I'm going to see you both at tryouts, right?” she said, looking between him and Jessie. "So I'm going to see you both at tryouts, right?"

Aiden gave her a thumbs-up. "Just name the when and where, you know I'll be there." He paused, a rare frown creasing his features. "Eh, not my best work. I'll come up with something better for tryouts." And then it vanished like clouds passing the sun, leaving his customary smile to once again light up the room.

Unfortunately Jessie took that moment to announce her intent to do no such thing, despite her wonderful singing voice. "Well that sound great Aiden. You should join the Acapella group or tryout for one of the art groups if you like singing that much. Oh yeah, never gave you that schedule. Here's the first year schedule." She produced from somewhere in a pocket of hers a slip of yellow paper which Aiden accepted curiously, reading through it to see what the day had in store for him. "You've got English first up. I'm in my second year so I've got battle instead."

"Alright," he muttered to himself, "English, not so bad. I can do English- Wait, there's a Battle class?" He looked up to find that Jessie was leaving. "Wait, what's this about a Battle class? Do I have to hit things? I'm a lover, not a fighter."

But nobody seemed in the mood to tell him as at that point Ariana spoke up again, apparently over her brief bout of Headman-related daydreams. "You should be heading to class as well, Mr. Dyre," she told him before glaring at her boss. "As should you, Professor Caydon." Wait, so the guy in charge also taught a class? Huh. Must have a teacher shortage.

As others around the cafeteria finished up, Aiden inhaled the last few morsels on his several trays of food, stopped to check he didn't have anything caught in his teeth and smiled at Kaelana, the only one still here. "I should probably mention that twenty minutes ago I was wandering around the halls completely lost and I never actually found a map. I could use a beautiful guide to show me around the school."

“I teach theatre arts. You know, singing dancing, acting... The fun things people like doing in school not like history and all that boring stuff.” Ariana explained jovially, swiping a smirk at Eric. Lowering his head slightly he grinned, Touché. The glancing attention amongst the pawing teens was an art, Eric decided; though he edgily noticed a certain chef’s glare from the serving counter.

“As should you, Professor Caydon.” Ariana was looking to him again, though Eric had been momentarily distracted again by the chef glaring at him from the other side of the service counter, and as a result Eric missed the previous undirected words that explained what he was supposed to “should” do. He smiled almost uneasily, filled with concern. I’ve forgotten something, haven’t I? Eric stood mimicking several others around, pushing his chair back, still clutching what remained of his orange.
Aiden beautifully interjected Eric’s thoughts "I should probably mention that twenty minutes ago I was wandering around the halls completely lost and I never actually found a map. I could use a beautiful guide to show me around the school." The Academy’s bell unfortunately overlaid the end of Aiden’s plea after the word “beautiful”.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriing!

”English!” Eric exclaimed in relief letting out a chuckle, ”I’m gonna need a better system then just attempting to remember these things… Besides your prompts that is,” Eric grinned thankfully. Note to self: Find suitable English teacher.
He turned to look at Aiden, ”Dyre, next time specify "female", you’re with me it seems; aren’t you the lucky guy today.” The side of Eric's mouth raised up into a smirk glancing back to Ariana who it seem was on the move as well.
”It was nice, Ariana,” Eric said in all serious, ”Seeing you at the start of the first day.” And with the pleasantries concluded Eric moved to exit the canteen Please tell me Qadira's ceased her death stare, Eric checked in his peripherals noticing the chef hadn't budged. If she had powers Qadria would definitely be cyclops, I can literally feel the back of my head melting!

The hallway was a bustle, the first day meant the students were all super-charged and nervous as well as mostly lost; Eric paused and raised his voice, "Students!" The horde slowed as some stopped, Eric shouted again, ”Students, new and old,” he continued as most of the remaining nearby students took notice, ”Good luck with your first day here or back; just a slight heads up, most of the classes have changed room the prevous year - first years with me - that is all.”
The silence erupted as a lot of the older students cursed, it amused Eric infinitely to keep his students on their toes but in truth the process leveled the playing field somewhat for first years and gave them all a mind-bending task to engage their minds. First room's free first years, Eric mused whilst navigating the corridors.

Second note to self: Find English teacher, or is that still the first note... Make it first and second. One of Eric's eyes squinted at the chalkboard in the room, the board read:
"Idiomatic Expressions"

It was in bold and squiffy writing, My handwriting is a bomb. The majority of the chairs were empty, except Aiden who had nipped around Eric, seated himself and was already copying out the module heading. A few students that had followed after the speech start filtering in moments later. Now... Where did I put the chalk?

Opening out into the vast corridors Michael soon found himself encompassed by students, the bell had sounded only moments ago. Now where was it I’m meant to go? Michael stilled getting barged as he looked around, English but where… "Excuse me," Michael tried but several of the recipients just shoved past ignoring his request. "I’m trying to find the English class," Michael tried turning his head to students as they past without success.

”… first years with me - that is all.” Michael faintly heard a corner or two away and with reserved strength fought through the jumble sale of students. I could do with a locker… Michael observed students as the he made his way down another hallway, though he realised it wasn’t as if his room was far away and some students could be living off campus. Michael shrugged and turned a corner to where the announcement had been given in time to collide with - The mother of all beefcakes – getting knocked squarely on his arse. ”Watch it Freshie,” the enormous tank boy growled, "I bring the pain in all colours of hell," he warned, then scoffed, unimpressed with Michael before finally moving off.

Picking himself up and ignoring the new burns he’d some how accumulated Michael scanned ahead but the speaker had vanished, along with the first years. ”Awh come on!” Michael complained racing forward but he skidded to halt when the corridor split three ways. ”Now what?”

Michael exhaled deeply and looked around, only older students now loomed, ”Anyone know where the English room is?” Michael asked in a raised voice but the remaining students at the very least acted as if they were busy. I know it’s loud out here but someone could at least share this information with me” he stewed grinding his teeth a little.
Suddenly the hall felt wavy and it was as if purple streaks flowed out, when it touch the nearest student, an older blonde, she turned to Michael, ”It was announced only recently that all the classes have moved from the rooms of the previous years, sorry.” The girl suddenly snapped to and looked at Michael puzzled before frowning, slapping him and walking off. ”What was THAT about?” Michael questioned, slightly dazed, rubbing his cheek with a hand.

Is this so complicated!? Michael stood frustrated as the corridors began to clear. He hung his head shaking it and running both hands through his hair. Composing himself and looking up he noticed a girl rushing towards him with what looked like - A slice of pizza? – She seemed to recognise him which Michael found strange as he was new and hadn’t. –
Shower girl.

Michael swallowed and his heart quickened. Hh..How? Wait. Did she see me looking from my room? Michael pondered wide-eyed still unsure if he'd been knocked out by that enormous man boy thing a corridor or so back; though the pizza she carried wasn't exactly on the fantasy short list.
"Hi," Michael managed to stutter out, "English?" he asked.

And of course even that hope had to be crushed. Aiden closed his eyes and slowly exhaled, just a bit annoyed. "Rain check, then, gorgeous," he said, rolling his eyes and smiling at Kaelana despite his exasperation. "We gotta catch up, I haven't seen you in like a month. Looking forward to a bit of quality time." He paused a moment for her to comeback to the obvious flirt, then carried on. "I can't wait to tryout for - you said Titans, right? Like that cartoon? Look me up after class and I'll be all over that."

After the goodbyes were all done, Aiden caught up with the Headman and the mob of first-years he was leading. They hadn't gotten so far he'd lost sight of them, so moving faster than those slowpokes was a piece of cake. He couldn't help but remark at the bossman "You know, Professor, at a certain point you're just being a dick." Rob him of a prime opportunity to spend time with a hot girl? Not cool. Do it on his first day at school? Definitely not cool. Do it twice? Now he's just a dick.

Once they got to the classroom Aiden zipped in to grab a seat next to the window, near the back of the classroom, before anyone else could get to it. It offered a great view of the grounds but was shaded from the sun by a large tree not far away. Much more slowly he got out his books and papers and crud like that, boredom already seeping in at the thought of the class ahead. He noticed the teacher had written something on the board in flowy, flowery handwriting that was kind of hard to make out... In the end he just shrugged and decided not to bother. Instead he began drawing dinosaurs - objectively he knew his drawing was awful, with the lines all wobbly and uneven and everything the wrong size, but dinosaurs. And he liked drawing. And dude, dinosaurs.

Hopefully someone would come by soon and relieve him of the boredom that was prompting this behavior in the first place. Ideally a hot, female someone, but anyone interesting and fun would be nice.

Samantha let out a depressed sigh realizing that she was really late for breakfast, she had not noticed just exactly how late it was until she saw that everyone was already either finished eating or just waiting for the class to start at the cafeteria. She spotted a few familiar faces but didn’t say hi to anyone, after all that could wait but her demanding stomach could not. Sam always had a big appetite but as she used more and more her shifting abilities made her hungrier more often than before.

She had somehow gotten lost even though she had already entered the school for a few weeks before, it wasn't her fault that the institute was huge after all. Even when she had already been to school she would have to start in the first year mostly because she was a transfer student and because according to the school, 'it was the most appropriate' thing to do given the circumstances, whatever that meant. Of course, Samantha was not happy at all but there was nothing she could do, besides her mind was worried now about what she would have for breakfast or if she would even have one at this point instead of concerning over anything else.

Finally, she finally made her way towards the cafeteria. She had a silly grin like a child opening a Christmas gift, a look she always had whenever it came to food. Apparently they had pizza on the menu and, contrary to what Sam thought, there was still a lot of food left. She couldn't fight her grin and came closer finally grabbing a few slices when suddenly the bell rang. Eating as fast as she could she walked slowly toward her first class, English. Having her policy of, 'Do not leave any slice behind' she simply grabbed her slice and walked towards class.

People had already begun to walk towards their classes and Sam waited patiently not wanting to get caught up in the crowd. Finally when it wasn't nearly as crowded she spotted someone nearby, she recognized him as she had seen him a few moments before. Sam had forgotten something back at her room so she had to run back to her dorm, it was then when she saw him walking not too far from the place. She had never seen him before, so there was a chance he was new, but then again the campus was huge so maybe he had been around before and she never noticed.

Samantha came closer and noticed that he had also somehow recognized her, being a bit curious she moved closer to him with her pizza on her right hand and her left hand holding onto the strap of her backpack. Finally when she was close enough he suddenly asked while stuttering, "Hi, English?" Samantha smiled and let out a small laugh, "Actually It's Sam, but English is fine too you know?" she teased a bit with a smile.

She wanted to ask if he had seen her before but for now they had to get to class, "I'm guessing you're a first year too. English class is actually over here" she said pointing in the right direction, waiting for him to follow her. While they walked to class, her curiosity wouldn't leave her be so she finally asked, "so, have we meet before? It looked like you had already seen me before and I doubt it was only my delicious looking pizza that you recognized" she asked joking a bit and with a smile. She would wait for him to say anything before they got to class where she would probably sit down in the first seat she could find and maybe even finish her delicious slice of pizza .

The girl laughed a little, "Actually It's Sam, but English is fine too you know?" she smirked. Michael contained a laugh and smiled looking directly at her, How does she make beanies look so beautiful?
"I'm guessing you're a first year too. English class is actually over here" Sam continued pointing down a corridor; a door a way down, Perhaps we won't be too late after all, Michael mused but he was glad now, bumping into her had turned today around.
Whilst walking along side Sam, Michael chanced a look, Busted! Sam caught him but either she didn't mind or didn't show it, "so, have we meet before? It looked like you had already seen me before and I doubt it was only my delicious looking pizza that you recognized." Sam was still smiling at Michael and Michael blushed slightly, pulling his arm up and round grabbing the back of his neck, "I... erm." How do I explain THIS!? Michael panicked inside letting out a nervous chuckle. Taking a deep breath and then letting it out he confessed, letting his arm drop back to his side.
"I sort of saw you this morning," he began before quickly explaining, "My roommate was berating me about some sort of law he has going and I well... drifted off a bit, to the window." He could see Sam was still waiting for all the dots to connect, "...and so, well, you were through the window... technically two windows." And there it was, Michael's half-guilty confession. He bit his lip. And only moments ago, I wouldn't have been anywhere else, now anywhere else would do!

They'd paused before the English door while Michael had explained himself, but she didn't seem mad, maybe stunned Michael thought, But that could mean anything...
Professor Caydon could be heard muted through the doors, "...temporarily stuck..."
They both turned to see the Professor; he was looking directly back at them! The sudden obligation cut short Sam and Michael's discussion, and he pushed the door to, sound erupting form inside as he held the door for Sam. He followed after a short sigh and entered, seating himself beside her.

“Why don't you find me instead?” Kae smirked as she twirled and soon disappeared with a few others. The other Titans weren't as easily persuaded into leaving their table so quickly for class; They remained as seemingly everyone else made a break for the doors. “Shouldn't we head to class...?” She tilted her head to the side before looking to Anastacia. Damon...?

A bad feeling nagged her in the back of her head, causing her to immediately put up her guard. “Sure...I'm free for lunch.” She couldn't pass up the chance to wrap another male around her finger. Cheveyo shrugged as he slung an arm around his girlfriend's shoulder. “You're looking at Maldoy's top students. And Professors in training. We kinda just do what we want and catch no backlash from it as long as we make the grades.” He shared a howl of approval with Kaelana as she sat down next to Arturo, the three of them giving wolffish grins. Divinia, however, stood and held with her a muffin and an orange untouched by human mouths. “I have a study meeting with Jason in the library, actually.”

She rolled her eyes at the childish catcalls and whistles and the ever popular Kindergarten “Ooooohhhh” that came from the group. She had considered Jason to be one of her very few intellectual equals and likewise a close friend since she had first met him years ago in the sorry excuse for a science class. After that meeting they both seemed to motivate and aid each other to pursuing and reaching their goals - Often it seemed their paths would cross on missions to improve the classes. Divinia herself had founded Aristotlethes; The Academy's math and science club. She also prided herself on forming the Philosophy Group. They didn't have a catchy name, but they often met up and discussed ideas and read their favorite philosophical works together. She had regained hope in the super powered teens attending the school. She also planned to later have a meeting with the Headmaster; And not a happy one either.

“So. I was thinking that we should request a school trip to Cabo San Lucas this year; Serious road trip, guys. Or Machu Picchu. Somewhere besides Florida.” She grumbled under her breath the last part. Kaelana was well traveled and quite honestly didn't have to attend the trips that the school took to random places in the United States every year, but she loved the experience and preferred it to traveling alone. But she grew tired of the blandness of America and craved for a more exotic trip; She felt that some people deserved it and that if they were going to go on a trip, they should go all out. As she whined, Arturo placed an arm over her shoulders. “You know that they're just going to tell us they ain't got the budget for five hundred kids to take a trip to God knows where.” He gave a shrug as Kaelana's face landed on the table. Meanwhile, Divinia had set up shop in the far back of the library, eyes scanning three different books at once, all in different languages. Just some light reading exercises.

As he was adding the flames coming out of the dinosaur's mouth (well this one did have fire breath, so there) Aiden glanced up at the teacher to make sure he wasn't looking his way and chanced to notice a couple of students slinking in late. Checking to see that Head Bossman was still busy with the whiteboard, he gestured at the seats next to him, almost the only ones unoccupied by now. Whether they saw him or just saw the seats, the two new kids made their way over to them and sat down, the guy next to him, the girl on his other side.

Aiden flashed them both a grin. The girl was amazingly cute. Dark hair, largely swept to one side, about shoulder length, smoothe features and a carefree air about her that instantly endeared him. He resisted his first instinct to flirt with her, though - partly because they were in class but mostly because there seemed to be something between the two of them. The guy seemed nervous, constantly glancing at her as if trying to gauge her mood, like he'd done something bad and was worried she'd snap at him. Well, he had sat down next to her and she didn't seem about to change seats (and if she did, there was an empty one right behind Aiden) so she couldn't be too furious with him. Unless she just hadn't decided yet whether to be furious or not. In which case, that guy could be deep in it now.

Either way, far be it for Aiden to get in the way of another man's relations with the fairer sex. On purpose, anyway. Thus he had the courtesy to keep his fat trap shut for once and just watch them out of the corner of his eye to see how this unfolded. It was way more interesting than whatever the teacher was saying.

When all else was said and done, Jason made his way to the library with five minutes to spare for his appointment. Breakfast had been satisfactory, though he scowled at the sight of pizza on the table. Honestly, as if the school didn't serve enough unhealthy fare already, now there was pizza for breakfast? What kind of institution was this supposed to be? The new Health teacher should be focusing her efforts on the faculty almost as much as the students. Shaking his head at the thought, Jason stepped around a bookcase and smiled (a rare event) at Divinia Castiglione sitting at a desk and browsing several books.

They had met some years ago, before he became a graduate student, having been assigned to work together on a science project. Naturally the project was not only interesting but visually impressive, but more importantly he had found along the way an intellectual equal whose company he actually enjoyed, something rarer than platinum in the school. He had also found a strong infatuation - one strong enough indeed to persist to the present day. At first he had not recognized it for what it was, but once he did he had found much to consider.

Love was a subject that almost everyone spoke of at some point, usually in glowing terms. Still, for all its supposed virtues the drawbacks were also noted, and having seen them he viewed the matter in an entirely different light. While a certain sense of emotional fulfilment at the mere presence of another and the knowledge of her approval seemed appealing, it also implied a lack of fulfilment at her absence or disapproval. Furthermore he had found himself distracted, his mind wandering at any given moment to think of her. It was unhealthy, he decided, for one's happiness to depend so greatly on another person. Practically obsessive. For that reason primarily he chose not to pursue any relationship with her beyond that which they already had.

That was not to say that he avoided her, of course. He may not have any romantic notions or intentions, but he did enjoy their discussions and value her opinion greatly. They were, for lack of a better word, good friends. He had no intention of abandoning that simply because he could not cope with infatuation properly. Instead he freely took pleasure in her company - probably what had allowed that infatuation to remain over the years rather than dying out like a guttering candle - and simply exercised self-control where his emotions were concerned, as he always did. For all the artistic insistence to the contrary, following one's heart over one's head seldom brought joy or contentment. Usually it only resulted in disappointment.

On reaching the table he set down his briefcase and brought out his laptop, nodding cordially to Divinia. "Good morning," he said politely. "Enjoying your light reading?" It was nice to see they kept a copy of Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment in the original Russian. For all that the school failed to do in policing its students or looking after their health, it did provide adequate resources for education at least. Otherwise he would have left the moment he learned to master his abilities.
