Introduction
The Kingdom of Araluen has experienced almost a full decade of peace. The Ranger Corps has had little work. Most of the jobs for the past ten years have involved putting down minor internal uprisings, forming treaties with other countries, and keeping Scandian raiders off the backs of the coastal regions. Apprentices are trained, the skills are taught. But there have been no wars, not even any major battles, in what seems to be an interminably long time. Some of the Rangers are getting bored…
And boredom does strange things to people.
His name was Forthwind. Forthwind de Montfort. He was still very young, but he was strong, bold and opinionated. Charismatic and ambitious. He was a favorite in the Corps, a loyal friend and an eager learner.
But sometimes… what you see is not what you get.
Forthwind, since his fourth birthday, had harbored a deep hatred of the Ranger Corps, and all of its Rangers. He blamed the Ranger Corps for the deaths of his parents at the hands of Morgarath’s armies. That hatred festered and grew within his heart.
He never had the interests of the Corps in his heart. He wanted only revenge. But Forthwind was clever. He knew he could not fight the Corps; not one man, hardly a full-fledged Ranger, against forty-nine senior Rangers and their apprentices. His mind was his greatest weapon.
And his mind worked.
He gathered his own army of back-stabbers, thieves and trouble-makers. Enemies of the King. He spread them out over the many miles of Araluen, to all of the different fiefs under the Rangers’ command. And in one massive, coordinated movement, Forthwind’s army made their attacks. Ten Rangers died that night, twelve more were horribly injured. With only twenty-eight Rangers and seven apprentices left to fight, the Rangers are struggling to find the enemy and destroy him…
Before he destroys all of Araluen.

"Come on," She called, beckoning to Vyce, "You must be hungry. You too, Dylan."
Vyce was wary, but he came forwards, taking a bowl of stew.

Eymund rose from the table, in a slow and dignified way, and then turned towards the door. "Damn, I entirely forgot." he muttered, as he poked out his head and whisteled. Paya and Vyce's horse imediatly came running around the field and over to the house, both of them soaked a little in water. Paya looked at Eymund with a 'This-is-going-to-cost-you-a-great-deal.' glare. Then he swiftly took off the saddle, and took out his equipment, which included a damp sleeping bag. He also took himself the time, to grab Vyce's bags too.
He dropped all the bags on the floor, where they landed with a 'plump'. He unrolled his bedroll, and wrapped himself into his carpet. Laying up alongside the wall of the small cottage. He had a clear view of the stove and fireplace. "I'll just lay down now." he said, with a tired smile.
Setting

"Get up," She ordered, "There's a bed for you, you know."
She glanced around, "There are beds set up for all of you. I'm not about to let my guests sleep on the floor."

"Besides Aura, if 'they' came around, it'd be a sound strategy to have someone near the door to defend it untill the rest of us were up and ready." he said in a reasonable tone, leaning back on the bedroll and closing his eyes.
Setting

She shook her head then, sleek white hair glistening.
"Whatever. Do as you will." She turned to the apprentices, "Vyce, Dylan, I'm sure you'd both like some sleep? I'll show you to your beds."

My brother turned it down.
He'd rather play WoW >.<
I feel so embarrased by that statement ._.
Sorry folks!
Re: [OOC] Ranger's Apprentice: Turncoat
We need at least the second apprentice to start. We don't necessarily have to have the retired ranger.
Re: [OOC] Ranger's Apprentice: Turncoat
As soon as he figures out a username for the Forum -.-
We've read all book in the series, with number 7 as an exception.
And I'll be pecking at him, to make him write in at least the semblance of proper 'engrish'. ^^
