Yui is small, but mighty. There is evidence on her body of suffering, but she can't recall where they are from or what happened. Her appearance is very nonthreatening, severely underweight at 50 Ibs. Her hair is the color of delectable butterscotch, or maybe caramel candies. Yui's eyes are a deep set blue, her complexion milky white and doll like with big round eyes and a button nose. Behind her ears, are a bit of a peculiarity, feathers seem to have sprouted, angelic like and pure. They aren't earrings and should you pull on them it will cause her great amounts of pain; best to just leave them alone. Yui's fingers are long and slender, made for playing piano or weaving. As far as clothing goes, she wears whatever is given to her and does so without complaint. Overall, her entire figure seems to be doll-like and sought after, others seem to just want to put her on a shelf and admire her, but Yui wouldn't let them do a silly thing like that.

Yui has no memory of her past, the Freedom Fighters have informed her that she was liberated from one of Shoku's many secret labs across Japan. Yui has no recollection of this event and has to be reminded constantly of small things and actions. They are uncertain whether she has any intellectual abilities and thus far seems incapable of speech. Vocals appear to be in working order after restoration, although it is possible that Yui has simply forgotten how.

The truth is that Yui and her brother were the first two Light Bearer's. She was born with the mark, a small white flower bud on her stomach that slowly blossomed with age. It was this strange deviation that prompted a look-see from a doctor during their mandatory visit and Yui and her older brother were swept out of the office and into a research facility to better understand the transforming nevus. The tests that followed were painful and enough to drive anyone to the point of insanity. The poking and prodding that dug up nothing led to stabbing, burning, and torture all in the name of "science" and the "future of the Commonwealth." By the time the team of researchers had uncovered the children's abilities the two youths had been broken, their innocence stolen far too early.

Yui was separated from her brother and was forced to use her ability on people deemed traitors of the country. Her gift with blood manipulation was a terrifying thing and she was locked in the sub-levels of the research facility, the only light coming from artificial bulbs in the ceiling. There she was isolated, only allowed to see scientists that came to torture her with more "research" or the criminals she was about to execute. In truth these were small tests to push her towards corruption. Alongside this, the scientists were testing drugs in an attempt to subdue or control these light bearing gifts; some of which had unruly side affects that caused nightmares or did odd things to her body.

It was during these trials that Shoku discovered something remarkable and managed to activate something within Yui, which in turn, led to the slow progression of her death. After spending months in the tank, Yui awoke and was isolated. She seemed incapable of speech and movement, an empty slate, a doll in every sense of the word.

|| Let the Flames Begin || Paramore ||

Tomorrowland was a blast, and eating at the Death Star was quite the novelty. Their next destination as spied was Toon Town, the area where kids thrived most. Once Aria was a child, when had that all changed? She, Yurei, Damian, and Xavier just doing stupid childish things, what happened to those easy, mindless days? Aria finished her seafood platter and it was time to go. What caught Yui's eye first was the Gadget Coaster, which Ally wanted to go on too. "You might be scared without me, so I'll have to sit with you." Ally said despite Aria existing as Yui's main escort. So she let Ally take the leash since they were going to be seat mate for this one. The idol sidled in next to Damian instead, while Xavier and Jenny more or less stole the front row of the train.

Obviously it wasn't going to be as intense as Space Mountain but they made up for it with the nifty little tricks and turns and spins to awe the children that rode the ride. Well, ride wasn't the right word. Experience, maybe, wasn't that what Disney liked to call their attractions? Aria, Xavier and Jenny formed a competitive trio in the next ride, where they played go-kart on a Roger Rabbit themed attraction, making one child cry because he couldn't move because Xavier cornered him and kept on bumping him. What a horrible bully Xavier was, so Ally bought the kid some ice cream to shut him up. "A lady is always graceful." She said, trying to teach Yui what it meant to be highborn. "Are you listening, this will be important once you grow up, you know." Aria groaned, pinching Ally's nose. "But if Yui doesn't want to be graceful she doesn't have to be." When was Aria ever graceful anyways? Ally crinkled up her nose and turned away. "Th-then she won't be much of a Princess Loli then, will she?"

Princess Loli? No, Yui was a fish and would always be a little fish.

After finishing up Toon Town with Minnie Mouse's House as the finale, it was time to continue the counter-clockwise rotation and so they came to Fantasy Land, though Ally started asking everyone how their feet were doing, to the point that Xavier had to give her a piggy back ride because that was Ally's way of telling them her feet were hurting without ever actually admitting it. "Oh, Alice's Tea Party looks nice." Aria shrugged, looking at the spinning teacups. Damian, who had eaten the most at the Death Star, frowned a little. "I think I overate." He said sadly, shaking his head. He was going to sit out of this one. He was a chef at heart and so he felt it necessary to sample as much food at the Death Star as possible in order to expand his repertoire.

With Damian out it could be two per seat. Xavier suddenly had an idea. "Let's all play rock paper scissors to decide who sits with who!" People would be paired with who else chose the same. In the case of three people, those three redo it until two are the same and one is different, and that one will go with the leftover. Aria grinned at Yui and quickly flashed her a scissors sign. Was it cheating? Yes, of course, but Aria wanted to sit with her fish!

Yui didn't understand what Ally kept blithering on about. Being dignified? She had to sneak a look into her dictionary to find out what such a word even meant. Still, the words that Allyana touted had even bigger meanings and Yui couldn't help but feel as though she might have to emulate those things that Ally kept nosing onto her. So Yui stood up straight, she tried to walk gracefully, like she was floating, the same way Ally was, but in the end, Yui was distracted by Minnie Mouse. Yui was so happy to have her picture taken with the characters, even if she didn't understand how holos worked. "We'll print the pictures out when we get home," Xavier promised, figuring that Yui would probably want to hang them up in her room. In Fantasyland, they came across a large spinning teacup. Before Yui would let them get on the ride though, she wanted a picture with Alice. "Ari take picture with Yui and Alice?" Yui inquired, tugging on her sleeve. She looked down at her feet, blushing slightly.

Once they had their photo, Yui was explained the fundamentals of rock paper scissors and she thought hard about what she was going to pick. Somehow, Yui chose the same thing as Aria; scissors. "Yui sits with Ari?" She asked, blinking up at her. Ally huffed, ending up with Xavier while Leo sat next to Jenny. "Yui wants spin!" She took a grasp of the handles, but wasn't strong enough to turn their cup. Yui allowed Aria to spin it and tried to help, but mostly threw her hands up into the air and giggled. For Yui, it was the happiest day of her life so far and she knew that there were more adventures just around the corner. Yui clung to Aria, rather dizzy and feeling the slightest bit nauseous, but still, she was smiling. Once more, Yui collapsed into the stroller, but this time it was with happiness rather than confusion. She lifted her head up ever so slightly and closed her eyes, trying to make the dizziness go away.

Damian ended his conversation with a cast member who gave them all stickers. "Yui is collecting," she said, referencing the stickers. In which case the cast member handed her two more and Yui tucked them into her coat pocket. "Why don't we visit the Phillharmagic?" Leo suggested, knowing that they all needed a stationary ride. This one was a large room that you sat in with 3D glasses and watched a show about Donald stealing Mickey's magic wand. Yui was thoroughly amused by it, but some trickling part in the back of her mind told her she would have preferred the Little Sinner's music. "What should we do now? Meet the Princesses?" Yui was once more on the child leash, having regained her energy. "Princesses!" Yui agreed.

"Aria, you should pick the next ride since you haven't gotten to choose yet." Something sparkly had caught Yui's eye. She turned, seeing the boutique that sold princesses dresses. Yui glanced back at them, but ultimately, she was enthralled by the twinkling of the sparkles that adorned the gowns in the window. She sighed woefully, longing to dress like a Princess.

Spinning with Yui was good fun indeed, and taking pictures with Alice was always a treat as well. And as always Aria was glad to fill out a few more stickers in her sticker book. They all had one, but Yui was winning because cast members would always give her extra because of how small and cute she was. "You look satisfied." Jenny said to Yui, offering to take the stroller's handles. "Was that enough spinning for you?" Aria snickered, remembering how Jenny's udders bounced around on that ride. She could almost swear the girl didn't wear bras but she knew she did. Sadly for Xavier he hardly got a good view of the bouncing, instead it was Leo who got the extra show. The Philharmagic was a nice break from the movement,
at least for the boys. Aria was still going strong because she was good with intensity. "Princess time?" And so they went to the store to dress up as Princesses - Leo included, at Jenny's bullying -, Elsa and Anna and Sleeping Beauty and nearly all of them, leaving with a great deal more pictures in their phones.

"Well, if it's my choice, then I choose It's a Small World!" Mostly because it would be a good way to show Yui the world while staying in Japan. One song with cute worldly dolls later it was time to head over to Westernland. It was this land that Jenny was most excited for, and Aria could see why. For a gunslinger like her, Westernland's aesthetic must really be pleasing for her, right? "Let's go on the River Railroad, pardner!" Jenny said excitedly, nearly hopping up and down as they traversed into the dusty countryside where cowboys liked to have dramatic showdowns with their flintlock pistols at sundown. "Well, if that's your choice-" But in an instant, everything changed. All because of one off-duty Enforcer.

Remember how in the Allyana Welcome Operation, Jenny had forgotten her mask? Well, this enforcer was one that was there at the Black Reaper's side, one of his direct underlings as an elite Enforcer. "Code Red." He whispered into his radio, to the Black Reaper. "Target J has been sighted." So once the group got off the railroad ride and were ready to go to the next one, a gunshot was fired from nearly nowhere. It would have hit Ally and killed her instantly if it wasn't for a certain busty woman tackling her and taking the shot in the shoulder instead. Ronan appeared, dark grin on his face, smoking gun in his hand. "Well, what do we have here?" Aria immediately turned herself and Yui invisible to protect their identities, since Yui was probably target numero uno while Ari still had a social life as the Little Sinner she needed to maintain.

"Fugitives. Criminals. It's time to take you all in." But then he paused, suddenly thinking. "But let's make things a little more thematic." He tossed a gun to Jenny and used his blood tails to push everyone away so that it was only the two of them to face each other. "We'll take ten paces and then fire, okay?" Jenny forced a grin and cocked her gun with skill despite the injured shoulder. "Deal. If I win, we go free." The Black Reaper nodded in agreement. And so they took the ten spaces and Jenny turned around first, having the fastest reactions of anyone here. "Don't worry." Aria muttered to Yui so the fish wouldn't reveal herself and ruin the invisibility. "Jenny's the best gunslinger in all of Japan." Sadly while she was prepared for a gun, she was not prepared for a blood tail waiting for her right at her ankle, snaring her and lifting her up, knocking the gun out of her hands. But even so, she landed one good shot on Ronan's leg from upside-down in the split second it took for the tail to knock the gun away.

The Black Reaper smiled in insidious victory. "My win. Any last words?" Jenny locked eyes with Xavier in the crowd, opening her mouth to speak when the gun fired. Right then Xavier grabbed Jenny and transported the entire group back to Tsukasa's Yumenoshima base (since it was closer) using all of his strength before Ronan could finish his quip about how criminals didn't deserve last words. But Xavier wasn't fast enough - the shot was true and Jenny's blood soaked chest was proof of his failure to protect the woman he wanted to live the rest of his life with. Surprisingly, it was Ally, not Xavier, who began to cry and wail first, placing her face on the slowing ride and fall of Jenny's red-soaked chest.

|| Never Enough|| The Greatest Showman ||

Yui sensed him before she saw him. With her sticker book in one hand and Aria's hand in the other. The two were lagging a bit behind because Yui tired, but she didn't want to sit in the stroller quite yet. The fish froze up, sticker book dropping. "Bad Reaper," Yui whispered, feeling a hand slip over her mouth the same moment that Aria turned them invisible. Yui's eyes welled up with tears and her soul cried out, wanting to help. So Yui struggled against Aria's hold, attempting to twist her way out. She could fight him! She could stop him! She did it right before and sure, it cost her an eye, but Yui would gladly give her other one if it meant that she could have saved Jenny. "No!" Yui screamed against Aria's hand, thrashing. Xavier transported them and when the veil of invisibility dropped, Yui crumpled to her knees.

Xavier held Jenny close, he brushed the hair from her face as her body shivered. "Stay with me Jenny, don't go," he whispered,
holding her hand. Jenny smiled and stroked his cheek, bottom lip quivering. The blonde who put up such a brave facade was scared. "Xavier-" her smile faltered, her hand falling at her side. Jenny's body stilled, the painful rise and fall of her chest ceasing altogether. "No!" Xavier yelled, holding her, his cry piercing the silence of the room. "Jenny, please, stay with me! Don't go, don't leave me." He took her hand and held it against his cheek, rocking her body as he whispered sweet nothings to the girl who could no longer hear him. He looked to Leo for help, a flicker of hope in his eyes, but all Leo could offer was a shake his head. It was too late, the wound had pierced her heart, spearing it in two. There were things medicine and science could mend but a split heart was not one of them.

Jenny would get a Freedom Fighter funeral.

Xavier warily got to his feet, stiff as a board, to dig the grave in the backyard. He took a shovel and no coat, the wind stinging his eyes as he began to work, shoveling through the snow. Damian stood and wordlessly followed, Leo kneeling down to close Jenny's eyes.

The grave was deep, the mounds of fluffy white powder making it hard to dig. Xavier wanted to go further, he wanted to work until his arms were sore and fell off of his body. He wanted to work until he was clear to the center of the earth and could feel the warmth of the molten core. Xavier wanted to dig until his heart went numb and his brain ceased its screams. A hand on his shoulder made him stop, "It's deep enough," Damian whispered, his breath foggy in the cold. Xavier looked down at the hole he had engraved into the earth, the final memento to his beloved.

"No, it's not."

The blonde haired boy who claimed to be a fighter of freedom continued to dig while inside, they prepared Jenny's body for the burial. Leo had found the tools and wrapped Jenny's body in a white sheet, her blood staining a crimson heart over the place where her chest had been opened. Leo carried Jenny's body towards the hole, but Xavier eased her into her final resting place. Tomorrow he would not wake up with her beside him. Tomorrow he would not be greeted by her smile. Tomorrow he would go to her workplace and explain why Jenny, with her boisterous smile and everlasting spirit would never be returning.

"Do you want to say a few words?" Damian asked quietly and Xavier's eyes brimmed with tears. "Jenny," he whispered, but that was all he could manage. "Usually, when a Freedom Fighter dies, everyone says a few words, shares a fond memory, something of that nature." Damian explained, his hand never leaving Xavier's shoulder. "Why don't I start?" Damian looked down at the hole, at the blanket that was already spotted with beautiful spots of snow. "Jenny, you were loud, proud, and hated doing chores unless you were dressed in a maid costume," Xavier cracked an infinitesimal smile. "But you were the best gosh darn shot in all of Japan and possibly the world. May the light of the stars illuminate your path towards freedom."

"Here, here!" They yelled, fists reaching towards the darkening sky.

Yui went next, but she struggled with what to say. "Jenny was... friend," the girl said quietly, thoughtfully, her hand never letting go of Aria's. "Yui liked when Jenny... dress up." Damian nodded encouragingly. "Yui miss Jenny."

"Here, here!"

With that too quiet and all too deafening last rattling breath, it was all over. Ally was first, but Xavier was next and Aria couldn't tell if the hole in her chest was guilt for not having done anything, or anger for such an unfair death. Jenny had one the duel, she got the first shot off, she reacted first. But the Black Reaper didn't play by the same rules he set out and that was how he won. "I'm sorry." Aria said too softly, mostly to herself. "I'm sorry?" It didn't feel like it was her, it didn't sound like her voice. Jenny was gone, their sunshine, the one that kept everyone laughing and smiling when things were rough. Who would be their sun now? But maybe the worst part of it all was that Aria felt a tiny wave of relief, relief that it wasn't Mizu's body she was staring at, relief that it was Jenny instead.

A Freedom Fighter's funeral. Aria hoped she never would have had to see one. Hime, Mayumi, and the Doc arrived to see it, though Xavier had already dug up the hole. Even if anyone offered to help him dig, he would have refused it, he wanted the burden all to himself. Everyone spoke their memories, first Damian and then Yui. "I never saw you as a cow, even though I always said it." The idol's eyes sparkled with what was threatening to become tears. "I always thought you were beautiful but I never wanted to admit it." Then she smiled despite herself. "Jenny, you taught me the beauty of a girl truly in love." There was no one whose love shone brighter than that of Jenny for her Xavier.

Ally knelt against the mound of snow and dirt, an ashen look on her face. "It's my fault." She said, for the first time shedding her rich girl facade. "If she hadn't taken the first shot for me, she could have... she'd have been fine, she would've been fast enough." The first bullet the Reaper fired was aimed right at her but Jenny was the only one fast enough to react on time to save her. "It should have been me." She was shaking and the cold had nothing to do with it. "Thank you, Jenny, for adding a bright spot in a war that's too cold." Leo murmured. "We'll carry on the fight, so rest on now. We'll look after Xavier for you." He then helped Ally up and the girl went limp, not resisting in the slightest. "Come on, let's give some space."

"There was a ring in the jewelry store in Shinjuku I had my eye on." Xavier decided to speak now that he had gathered his thoughts. "After the war, I was going to buy it and propose to her." Xavier who was once so strong just looked like a dejected broken mess of a man, no simple comfort from anyone would be able to fix him, not when he had lost the woman he loved. "I... should have just proposed, instead of waiting for peace. I should have known something like this could..." He trailed off and stared listlessly in front of him.

Not even their superiors, Hime and Mayumi, were immune to the sadness permeating the place. "She was a good and strong girl." Mayumi said respectfully. "It was a pleasure having you with us, Jenny." Hime, too, wanted to speak. "May you join all of our other companions who died too young, for a cause we started." She said poetically. "We will dedicate our lives to ensure your resolve was not in vain." They weren't going to have time to mourn for long though because within moments all of their holos rang.

Raven, of course.

"Instead of feeling sad, isn't this the perfect opportunity to strike?" Raven grinned on the holo, pointing to a holographic map. "Setagaya Station. Shoku won't expect it, not with you guys mourning like this." Was this really the best time for this? "Instead of sitting around being sad, let's pay Shoku back for what he did."

Inside, the house was warm. Yui sat next to Aria as the battle plans were discussed, but Yui would not be going. She would stay here, with Leo and Ally. Protect the home base was how Hime had phrased it, but Yui knew what it really meant.

She was still too weak to protect anyone.

Yui had rid herself of the wig sometime ago. She held onto her Mickey ears, a relic of something that seemed to happen a century ago. Today was supposed to have been reserved for laughter and rather they were met with tragedy. It was a stark reminder that no matter where they went or what happiness they attempted to behold, the terrors of war would always haunt them. Outside Xavier cried, he pounded his fists against the ground, raging against the unfairness of the world, at a life lost too soon.

When he finally returned, Damian had a warm blanket and coffee ready. Xavier slumped into a recliner, an arm draped over his eyes. Damian covered him, pressing the warm mug into his grip. "Drink, you were out there for a while," Xavier's hands turned red as he sipped at the coffee, the warmth filling him. It felt wrong. "Let's pay him back ten fold for what he's done." Xavier dried his eyes, there would be no more tears. There would be no more sorrow, it would do nothing to bring the love of his life back. Hime began to fill him in on the plan, Raven would be here soon to pick them up and there was no time to waste. Damian retreated to the kitchen, it was best not to fight while hungry, it only weakened one's stamina. He prepared sukiyaki and together they ate, Yui sipping at the broth from the soup.

It was Yui's first time meeting Hime and Mayumi, who would whisper and stare. They had introduced themselves of course, but they seemed to be conversing about her rather than with her. Yui turned back to her food, no longer hungry. "Yui is tired," she confessed, closing her eye and leaning back in her chair. Yui was cold, exhausted, and needed to refresh her ena, but the little fish wouldn't leave the table until it was time to go. She followed them all to the exit, wincing at the wind when the door opened. "Good luck," Yui tugged on Aria's sleeve. "Yui will miss...Yui will miss Aria." She tried, looking down at her feet shyly. "Aria, come home." Yui didn't want to mourn Aria either. She didn't want to have to bury another friend.

"Come on Yui, let's go up to bed," Leo suggested once they had all left, holding out at a hand. Yui took it, allowing him to guide her upstairs. Yui soaked in her bath and said her goodnight's to Ally, who mournfully nodded her head and retreated without another word. They were still at this strange base, Leo and the Doc on standby in case they would have to treat injuries.

Yui had just fallen asleep when she heard an odd scraping around the window. She sat up in bed, realizing that Leo had left the glass panes open. The cold night air filled the room and Yui shivered, sliding out of bed. She had left her eye patch on, which was hanging off of one ear as she stumbled sleepily to end the cold. A hand closed around her waist and Yui tried to scream, but something was pressed against her mouth and nose and Yui felt awfully sleepy. She went limp against the person holding her and out the window they went, into an awaiting car. Her eye patch had fallen somewhere around the open window, the only indicator that Yui had occupied the room.

|| Let the Flames Begin || Paramore ||

The Setagaya Rail Station. This place is Ira Shoku's favorite place to hoard up on extra weapons and other required supplies for his Enforcers and his other armed forces. Everything is kept here, weaponry, technology, everything that makes an army dangerous can be found here in droves. Naturally this place is heavily guarded, but with the Black Reaper out of commission thanks to the bullet in his leg - Jenny's last present to them - so this was the perfect opportunity to take the teeth out of Shoku's army. If done correctly, it would take years to replenish the supplies here. Pretty in pink, the Matriarch herself found is necessary to personally take high command of this mission. "It sure is interesting to see you here, Mayumi." The two women were glaring one another up. "Oh, how you've changed, Matriarch. Unless you prefer me to use your other name?" There was a lot of history here but Aria didn't care. She wanted revenge.

Shoku took Jenny's life. So maybe this once it'd be okay to take lives in return. Even if the guards here were technically innocent, even if it wasn't their fault, they still enabled this. Because they didn't fight back, Jenny paid the ultimate price. "My question is how your tea isn't frozen in this ungodly weather." Mayumi scoffed and the Matriarch merely laughed. "Who knows?" Damian's laptop clattering away as he did his part of the operation was the other sound here. No one else had the heart to speak. Aria held her boyfriend's hand, the Fox was keeping them warm with his flames. "There, I'm in." Damian said quietly. "I hacked into the security systems and isolated their cells, so the guards won't be able to have any central organization for this operation."

Take as much as you can, destroy whatever else is there, and then destroy all evidence that this base ever existed. That was the mission here and Aria was glad to fulfill whatever she needed to. "Get us in, Xavier." Xavier did so, transporting all of them into the base. Raven, despite this being for her Ion Engine, was absent, claiming she needed to remain in Ikebukuro because of an urgent project that couldn't wait. It was just Aria, Damian, Xavier, Mayumi, the Matriarch, and Foxie here. That would be all they would need, too. Maybe if someone thought to, they'd have checked Xavier and Aria's marks, how a hint of grey was staining what used to be a flawless shine. But of course as they burst through security to extract and destroy whatever they needed to.

"I have a family, please!" Wind bristled around her wrists, the girl was mad. Grief turned to rage and the rage was now being dispersed in the only way it could. "Don't kill me, it's just the job, please just let me go!" Air blasted around her. "Jenny had a family too." Aria said with a wicked grin. "She had a whole life ahead of her, but no one gave her any mercy!" She swung her arm but then the Fox grabbed it and pulled it back. "Don't do it, Nemi, you aren't a killer." He said, and then snapped his fingers, burning the guard alive. "I am, but you should just remain a good girl." Aria ground her teeth angrily. "If I keep holding myself back, I'll never be strong enough." Not strong enough for Jenny, not strong enough for Mizu either.

"You can still be a good person and be strong, Nemi." Fox said, holding her close. "Don't lose sight of yourself. I love you, you're my princess." Ara wriggled but then relaxed. His words were, as always, soothing. "But it's okay for you to kill...?" Her boyfriend laughed self deprecatingly. "I'm already a killer, so one more won't make a difference. But you're still pure, and I want to keep it that way." She was still pure in a more intimate manner as well, he hadn't yet gone that far with her yet. "You can be a good person too." Pain rose in his eyes at those words. "Nemi, listen close, okay?" He ran a hand through his red hair, conflict growing on his face. "Whatever happens in the future, I love you. Even with me in the HIVE and you as a Freedom Fighter." It was almost as if he knew something Aria didn't.

Sadly for Xavier, there was no romantic interest here to stop him and remind him of his good side. Hands bloodied, with a trail of bodies behind him, he carried the Ion Engine with ease. "Here, the package is delivered." He handed it to the Matriarch who gladly took it. Xavier had taken lives. "Why don't you join the HIVE, Xavier?" The Matriarch asked him, sidling up closer. She saw the potential he had. "You're not like the rest of them, not after what you did today." He was a killer now, he had crossed a line. "You'll never be able to face them again, because now you're one of us, aren't you, darling?" Xavier's hands shook when he saw the blood. "I - I killed -" But then someone stepped between them. Mayumi, glaring harshly at her opponent.

"Isn't it bad form to try and poach one of ours?" The younger Hikari asked in a frigid voice. Sure, they were allies, but who knew how long it would last? Only as long as they needed to. Once it was no longer necessary all pretense of getting along would end. "Xavier, it's okay. You're still light, don't be afraid of it." But Xavier was crying now, with losing Jenny and breaking his own morality all in the same day, he was at a loss. "I'm darkening." He whispered, looking at the fire mark. "I'm not one of the good guys anymore. I - I can't look at Damian or Ari or Yui, I can't face them like this." He looked at the Matriarch with bitter hope in his eyes. "Please take me with you to the HIVE."

Yui awoke feeling very confused. She was disoriented for one thing, her wrists and ankles bound and a gag in her mouth for good measure. Yui slowly opened her eyes, the lights harsh and blinding. Her ear hurt, there was blood trickling down her neck from a tag being clipped onto her ear. With a start, Yui realized that the eye that the Doc had said would never recover, had vision in it. Yui blinked, attempting to fix her blurry sight on something familiar. The child attempted to cry out, but the gag sufficiently muffled any sound. "This is it? I ask you to bring me one and you brought me a kid?" The sound was irritating, grating against her ears. Yui didn't like this, she didn't like having her wrists tied or the gag in her mouth, so she did the only thing she could think of. While the two people argued, Yui used her blood to melt the bonds that were holding her. She ripped the gag out of her mouth and fiddled with the rope around her feet.

"It's just a kid, she's not gonna sell for much."

"But she's a light bearer, I checked, there's a mark on her stomach."

Their heads whirled around when Yui turned the doorknob. "Oy!" A gun shot rang out, piercing the door. Yui screamed, ducking down and holding her ears, the sound reverberating in her skull. The image of Jenny's still body filled her mind and something flicked on inside of her. In a blink the two were incapacitated, their bodies sizzling where Yui's blood had touched them. She snapped out of it in the hallway, after taking down three more guards; Yui shook her head, feeling dizzy. She needed to get out of here, she needed to go home, or else everyone was gonna worry.

"Stop her!" But Yui was too fast, her blood shooting through the person that yelled. One of Yui's eyes flashed red and she gasped, clutching her hands over her heart. What was wrong with her? She couldn't hurt people, Yui was supposed to be the good guy!

"Oy, stop right there." Yui turned around slowly, a gun level with her head. The little girl took a step back, the gun in the man's hands shaking. "I said stop!" He yelled, shooting. Yui screamed, using her blood to form a shield. The bullet melted against it, sizzling until it disappeared. Feeling weak, Yui directed the blood back into her body. Accidentally tripping some sort of alarm, she opened up a door she believed would lead her to the exit. Unfortunately, Yui was wrong, but she did find a room full of boxes marked in crude kanji that Yui could barely make out. The light bearer hid behind a box until the group of angry guards passed. She rifled through the heavy boxes, pulling on a jacket and a pair of boots that were several sizes too large. "Yui go home now," she said as she looked for a way out. At last, she found a chute of some sort and swallowed hard, trying to be brave as she opened the flap and climbed in.

Her fingers inched off of the platform, hesitance creeping into her spine but it was too late. Biting down on her lip to keep from crying out, she slid through the dark tunnel and into a bundle of dirty laundry. With a gasp Yui clambered her way out, entangling herself in sheets. Next she pulled on the jacket, feeling the cold, but waited to put the boots on until she found an exit. "Ah, Yui found it!" She clapped her hands, pushing the door open and stepping into the frigid air. With a shiver, Yui made her way outside and onto the street. It was still dark out, but the sun would be rising soon. Where was she? It was so cold, Yui wandered down the streets, feeling lost. A city with buildings that displayed bright advertisement and signs that Yui could not make sense of. This was Shibuya, which was bustling even so late at night.

The lights were too bright.

There were far too many people.

Yui didn't like this.

No, no, no!

She ran in the opposite direction of the building she had just emerged from, tripping on snow and landing on her stomach in a snowbank. A person stopped, kneeling down to help her up, but Yui ran away from them. "Don't touch!" Yui yelled in a panicked voice and ran until her lungs burned and the sun was coming up. The poor child was freezing, her stomach growling from having exerted so much energy and her head spun. Yui was hopelessly lost, she was in pain and tears sprung to her eyes. Slowly, Yui meandered into an alleyway, finding a large cardboard box to collapse in. There was a feral cat inside, who gazed at Yui with intense eyes before coming over and nuzzling her. "Kitty," tears danced down her cheeks once more as Yui hugged the poor cat who had changed its mind and tried to get away.

The Odaiba Base used to be full of laughter, joy, and happiness despite the hardship of war. Now, however, it was anything but. Jenny's dead. Ally, eaten alive by guilt due to losing Yui, guilt due to failing Jenny, has locked herself back up in her room again, blasting the music far too loud so no one can hear her cry. Xavier had betrayed them and joined the HIVE after Setagaya. Damian was mostly ignoring everyone and just clattering away at his laptop. The only ones seemingly normal were Aria and Leo, the former because she had the Fox here taking care of her and distracting her, and the latter because he was Leo, and Leo knew he needed to be mentally stable if he wanted to help everyone using therapy. Still, it can't be denied just how miserable the atmosphere is now. Mayumi was here too and she wasn't impressed by the state of the New Tokyo Freedom Figher Branch.

"You all should be at work trying to solve your problems." Mayumi told them authoritatively, visiting the base with an unimpressed eye. "There's nothing for me to do." The idol said tersely. "Hime's orders are that I remain here and not get killed searching out there." She yawned, tired and bored because of how quiet the place was. "And you, Damian, what are you doing?" The hacker looked up and then looked down again, too lifeless to want to put the effort in. He was the leader for now, but only because their real leader had gone missing. "Hacking." He said softly to no one. What he was really doing was hacking into New Tokyo Security Cameras to get a trace of Yui and find out when she was missing, as well as find out whatever direction her captors went while the fighters were at Setagaya.

Maybe if Aria wasn't so single minded on Mizuki, maybe if Jenny hadn't just died and Xavier joined the HIVE because of the blood staining his hands, maybe if Yui hadn't gone missing, maybe if Ally wasn't occupying all of Leo's worries with her abhorent attitude since Disney, then maybe someone would have realized Damian's problem. But because they were all self absorbed in their own misery, Damian was free to suffer in silence as not for the first time, he wondered if it'd be easier to just fry his own brain with his powers and die. Still, as the temporary leader he was sidled with too much responsibility. Too many people were counting on him and well, if they let Aria lead that was just game over,

"So according to the data she should be around here?" Hime asked. She had been out on the tsreets searching for any signs no matter how cold it was. Hime Hikari wanted the Goddess to be benevolent and happy, so she wanted to make sure she was safe at all costs. A little girl, was it really appropriate for the future Savior to be raised in a world of war and sadness? She stumbled through on her nightly journey, entering the Shibuya Ward.

Two figures on a bed one eager, the other, hesitant. "Is it really the right time for this?" Aria asked. She didn't really understand love and passion the same way others did. Or maybe she just didn't understand it in regards to Fox. She liked having Fox around yes, she liked all the things he did for her. But she wasn't comfortable with this. "Yes, there can't be a better time." He said, lust filling his eyes. "You never know when we might... die, so it's better to have done it at least once before it's too late." He pressed her down, giving her a kiss and dutifully, Aria returned ot. "I want to help find Yui." The idol writhed but Fox had her firmly pressed against the bed. "No." He whispered. "You're mine." Ari didn't really want it, but she didn't have the heart to disappoint the one who had looked after her all this time. She owed him too much. "Okay."

Yui had been living on the streets for almost a week now. Her box was her bed, it was cold, but she had found a few blankets in a garbage on the curb to wrap herself up in at night and keep warm. No one seemed to mind another dirty, scrawny, orphan running around. Finding food was the hardest part, most of the trash people threw out was half eaten, but Yui found a few spots that would put out goods which they could no longer sell at the end of the day. The convenience store on the end of the block, the bakery that always had fresh rolls. Yui would eat whatever she could and then promptly throw it all back up, her body still unable to tolerate solids. Most days Yui spent shivering in her box, the local cats the only things willing to keep her company.

Without her pocket dictionary, Yui had no hopes of communicating. She was lost, scared, hungry, and cold, but remained determined to keep herself together, because that's what a Freedom Fighter did. Even with her resolve intact, Yui spent most nights crying into the fur of a ragged street cat. The stray animals had taken a liking to her and Yui snuggled them in the dark to keep away the nightmares, using them to stay warm.

Today she was lucky, a local clothing store was getting rid of its old stock. Yui found a pair of boots that fit and a pair of gloves that weren't threadbare. She got pants too, two pairs and a shirt to slip underneath her jacket. Her form was no longer shivering as badly and if she collected enough coins that had dropped on the sidewalk, Yui could buy herself a warm drink from the vending machine, or take a shower at a manga cafe. She huddled into her jacket, checking her jacket to see how much yen she had collected. Nearly four yen, six more to go and she could get that shower. Yui coughed into her fist, her nose running. Her stomach growled, but it was still early in the day, the convenience store wouldn't have thrown out it's stock yet. Still, it wouldn't hurt to check her local haunts.

Yes! Yui got lucky in a dumpster next to a restaurant, finding four jars of baby food that were still good. She used the top of the cans to shovel the food into her mouth, glad for something that her body would be able to tolerate. "Hey you! Get out of here!" A lady waved her broom at Yui, as though to sweep her away from the back of her store. Yui didn't want any trouble, she grabbed the last can of baby food and ran, because the last thing that Yui wanted was for the Enforcers to be alerted. Yui hugged herself as she ran, finding her alleyway and crawling into her cardboard box. Yui took out a little picture she had found in the back of a manga shop while looking for a dictionary, a picture of the Little Sinner. "Aria," Yui whispered, touching the picture gently. She folded it back up and put it in her pocket, tears welling up in her eyes once more.

Yui missed them, she missed Aria. She didn't want to live here, in this dirty box, surviving off of scraps. Eventually the Enforcers would catch her and when that happened... "Bad Reaper," Yui was scared of him, after what he had done to Jenny, it was terrifying to think of facing him again.

Outside of her box, Yui could hear a meow. She lifted up the lid, a tabby kitten walking in, but unlike her ragtag group of street animals, this kitten had a collar. "Kitty," Yui reached for it, stroking it's back. The cat curled up on her pile of blankets, making itself at home. Attached to the tags was a camera, the kitten belonging to a very prestigious family.

Somehow a week had passed. Somehow even though Damian had recordings of Yui's location on the security cameras in Shibuya and had gotten Hime to go find Yui there, somehow Yui wasn't yet found. They next tried Ally's dream abilities but while she could locate the dreams because Yui could scarcely read it was impossible to tell where the fish could be. Ally was still doing her best to make dreams a comforting for Yui though because obviously, what else could she do? Not every night, of course, because some nights she had to try and locate Xavier with her dreams but just like with Yui, Xavier was mysteriously missing. "She isn't kidnapped by Shoku or anything, just lost." Ally said time and time again. "Hunting down Enforcers isn't going to make a difference, Ari."

Aria wasn't really doing the best. She was torn between family and duty. You see, they found out where Mizuki was. Or, Natsuo finally found it in him to tell her. "She's in Camp Epsilon, Aria." Natsuo informed her during a sibling meet up arranged by Yurei who had blackmailed them both into showing up. "Two years and she's still there." Aria grimaced. "I was busy getting ready for my show last Wednesday." She and Minapon performed at the Budokan. Yui mustn't have been there because she would've been able to hear the sounds from relatively close by and then come over. By now Yui was familiar with Ari's songs, right? Against her better judgment Aria did not tell the rest of her team where Mizu was. Mizuki was in Epsilon for two years... she could last a little bit longer. But Yui was the most important thing, Yui was the Ultimate Weapon. If enemies get their hands on her it's pretty much over. Aria of course did not know a Prophecy even existed.

Why did she want to cry every time the Fox came over? She loved him and everything he did for her, she loved that he represented security and normalcy in a time full of pain and stress. So why did she always feel disgusting every time he entered her? Why did she always feel like a piece of meat? The Fox was always so caring and gentle with her, not wanting her to kill, not wanting her to lose her light. Sure, he was a criminal and did bad things, but he still had a good side. It was just sometimes he got lusty and needed to release his urges, wasn't that normal of any relationship?

As for Yui missing, they just haven't informed the HIVE yet. If Raven found out, the alliance would be off.

If there's any creature that knew the streets better than any, it wasn't humans. No, it was cats, the stray felines that prowled the streets of New Tokyo in the endless cold and were still able to thrive. So Allyana went and found any stray cats she could and attached specially made VorTech cameras onto their collars and kept herself and Damian on the live feed. And one day one of her lucky cats happened upon a popsicle fish. "And there she is." Ally pressed a button, activating the mic control on the collar. "We're on the way. Stay in view of the camera at all times, Yui." Attached to the camera was a GPS signal that was only detectable to Damian and Raven's special tech. Basically, they were installed with HIVE tracking signals so the system would recognize them as HIVE.

"Let's get you home."

Yui was petting the kitty's back when it began speaking. "Kitty... talk?" Yui gaped at it, holding the kitten up. The animal rubbed its face against Yui's own and Yui held onto it tightly, waiting. The wind was howling loudly outside, the snow colder than ever. Surely, if Yui stayed there that night, even with her collection of street cats, she would freeze. So Yui waited, ever so patiently, for help to arrive. More of her cats came to visit, seeking shelter from the cold. Yui had bundled herself up in her blankets, a homeless little mouse with an armada of strays. She was growing tired, but knew that she had to stay awake because she wasn't within direct visibility of the sidewalk. Her ena began to crackle, drying out quickly and the water she had collected in a bowl outside had frozen. Things weren't so bad, however, as she did have the poster of the Little Sinner to keep her company. Yui took out the jar of baby food she had found today, but that too, had turned into a Popsicle.

At long last, a car pulled into the alleyway. Yui peaked out from her box, waiting, not wanting to jump out and be confronted by an Enforcer or run into trouble. Damian emerged from the car along with Leo, the two calling out her name. "Yui!" The little mouse crawled out, letting go of her cats who scattered as she moved. "Damian!" Yui yelled, running into his arms. "It's okay, you're safe now." Tears welled up in her eyes and Yui nodded, sniffling. "Yui missed... Yui missed all!" She said as Damian strapped her into the backseat. It was so warm, Yui had missed this, the heated indoors. They drove cautiously so as not to attract attention and Yui laid down in the backseat, curling up while her frozen body thawed. "Don't worry, Allyana is drawing a bath as we speak and there's food waiting for you." Yui nodded, taking it all in. She was saved, she didn't have to rummage through trash cans anymore or worry about how the temperature dropped in the evening.

Yui closed her eyes, falling asleep in the backseat. She awoke when the car rumbled to a stop and the engine cut; they had reached home. Damian gently nudged her up, allowing Yui to walk inside on her own. "Yui is... Yui is home!" The girl cried happily, unraveling herself from her multiple layers until she was just wearing her nightgown. "Yui!" Allayana had tears in her eyes as she ran down the stairs and embraced the girl. "I didn't miss you or anything, you dumb fish! You smell awful!" Yui grinned despite the insult, snuggling Ally. "Where Ari?" Yui inquired as the two girls went upstairs to the bath. "She's with Fox," Ally wiggled her eyebrows suggestively but Yui didn't understand it. "Yui, you're eye!" Yui nodded, "Yui is... all better!" She pulled off her nightgown, allowing Ally to dispose of it and she clambered into the steaming water, sighing. Her fingertips were blue and slowly, they turned back to their pale white.

After her bath came an examination from Leo. Damian spent forever trying to brush out her tangled hair while Leo poked and prodded, taking note of the lost weight and the scar on her eye that had all but disappeared. Yui couldn't help but cry once more with relief.

A meow came from outside the room and in meandered one of the strays wearing the collar that had the camera attached to it. "Yui, did you smuggle a cat in?" Yui blushed, reaching out for the kitty. "Cat is friend," Yui knelt down to greet him as Leo wrapped her hands, having treated them for frostbite. "Ari?" Yui asked again, standing upright. "Aria will be back soon, why don't we go eat something?" Yui's stomach growled loudly, responding for her. Yui shook her head stubbornly, "Yui want Aria," she sat in protest, but Damian lifted her up, carrying her easily downstairs.

"Let's do some practice on Ultimate Attacks today." Aria glared at her boyfriend. They weren't anime characters, their powers didn't have ultimate attacks. The only limits were how creative you could be with it. Still, Fox waved his arm, flames in the shape of a dragon circled up his arm and flew up into the air. Aria did the same, except hers was made of air. These were their most powerful techniques, the air and fire dragons respectfully. "Twin dragons of love!" Fox shouted, doing a girly idol-style spin and Ara just glowered. "You just look stupid, you know." She rubbed at her wrists, irritated that the red marks from the rope play still wasn't going away. "Shouldn't you be inspired by your boyfriend's idol moves?" Then her holo rang, it was Ally saying the fish wanted her. Code of course because Raven wasn't allowed to know that they had lost her.

"Alright, I gotta go. Yui needs me." Fox nodded and Aria conjured a cloud, leaving the Ikebukuro Base. She spent a lot of time there recently, secretly hoping to catch a glance of Xavier but he must not have ended up with Raven at all, but rather is working directly under the Matriarch. She only hoped she could see him again some day soon. Invisible, the idol wondered with dread just how bad Yui's condition was. Did they find her corpse? Maybe she had been caught by some leftovers of the Yakuza and was sold as a prostitute until now? Maybe she lost multiple limbs from frostbite? She steeled her heart, afraid for the worst. With how things had gone so far, there's no way she would let herself hope that Yui would be a-okay. Hope was dangerous, and losing Jenny, Xavier, and Yui within a day was a good lesson.

She entered the base, sighing deeply. "How bad is it?" She asked grimly, ready for the worst. "When are we burying the body?" She wouldn't let herself hope that Yui was okay. She lost Mizu, and after gaining Yui she had lost her too. No wonder her mark was a Spider Lily, her life was just an endless routine of eternal farewells. Xavier was probably gone forever too, following Jenny into death. "What body?" Ally asked her quizzically. "What are you talking about? Yui's fine, are you okay?" She grinned. "Did your boyfriend rot your brains with his pen-" She decided to ignore Ally and then continued walking, not daring to speak just incase she had misheard it.

But no, Ally was telling the truth this whole time. Yui was right here with Leo, alive and in better condition than when she left, since her eye was in working order again. "Next time you go missing I'm flushing you down the toilet, fish." The idol hissed, not realizing she was sobbing in utter relief. "Don't do this again! What were you th-thinking!" She then glared hard at Leo. "Did you scan her to make sure she's not bugged? This isn't a trap by Shoku, is it?" Leo nodded pensively. "Damian and I did that before bringing her here, don't worry."

Damian wouldn't let Yui leave the table. She fidgeted as he worked with a pair of scissors to try and remove the tag that had been clipped onto her ear like an earring. "Here, lemme try," Leo used a scalpel, but the blade went dull against the metal. "You idiots, it's an earring!" It took Allyana to figure out how to undo the clasp, placing the bloodied earring on the table. "I recognize this," Damian swallowed hard, "they're slave traders. They buy light bearers and sell them for... well, various purposes." Damian knew because he, at one point, had been in a similar situation. He looked into Yui's eyes, scanning her memory of that evening. "It looks like they knew about that base, we'll have to tell Mayumi and Hime that it's compromised." Damian stood and shook his head, hearing the door open. Aria had returned right on time and broke down into tears.

Yui stood, running to her, their new cat winding its way around their feet. Allyana had fed the stray, despite Damian urging her not to, because he didn't want to keep it. "Yui didn't... didn't want to go," she shook her head insistently, tears running down her cheeks for the umpteenth time. Damian set down dinner on the table, smiling. "Come on guys, let's eat." Yui nodded taking Aria's hand and leading her to the table. "Yui missed all," she said as Damian placed a warm bowl of soup in front of her. They were all eating ramen tonight, something comforting to warm up the soul. With Yui back, Damian seemed a bit more like himself; the house was beginning to grow lively once more, even with the absence of Xavier and Jenny. "Where Xavier?" Yui asked and Damian flinched. "He's taking some time to himself," Leo responded, no doubt expecting the light bearer to walk through that door any minute.

Damian cleared his throat, changing the topic. "Slave traders," he held up the tag for Aria to examine. Yui had finished her bowl of soup and held it out for seconds, which Yui Damian was happy to comply with by pouring more broth into it. "I have a feeling their target wasn't Yui either," no, their target had been a certain mind reader, but when they couldn't find him, they settled on a much smaller, seemingly easier target. "I've already examined her memory," for the first time in a long time, Damian smiled. "You should have seen how she escaped, Yui would have made you proud." Damian looked down at Yui then. "Can I show them?" Yui nodded and Damian projected the memory of how Yui cleverly escaped, using her powers to untie herself because she wasn't comfortable with the ropes binding her. It was funny how something as simple as a sensory processing disorder had set the mini light bearer off.

"Can Yui... Can Yui sleep next Aria?" The girl inquired as she squirmed, looking up at the female whom she considered her big sister. The cat jumped onto Yui's lap, it too, wanted seconds. Yui stroked its back, "Yui name cat..." she racked her brain for something suitable. "Yui name cat Ping!" She decided, choosing one of her favorite characters from Mulan. "Yui, don't name it, that means it's going to come back." Yui clung to Ping protectively. "Ping save Yui, Yui save Ping. Right Ari?" Yui held Ping out to Aria for her to examine.

The slave traders. Aria heard about them from Damian - the run in with them happened before Ari had joined up and was still investigating with Yurei - and once she did join she never had time to go after them because their focus was Shoku. "I might have Fox pay them a visit." She muttered, hugging Yui close. Ally decided to give a spiel then. "It's okay. We'll bounce back. I'll keep working on getting Xavier back too, we need our leader!" She paused and looked at Damian who might have been hurt. "Not to say you're a bad leader, but Xavier is more suitable for it." Damian shrugged as if he didn't care all too much. "We don't know where he is." Aria informed Yui, not wanting the fish to be lied to. "But Ally's been working on it, she's in charge of that."

When Damian showed them Yui's great escape, Aria snuggled the surrogate sister again, both in pride and in awe. "You did so well, but I'm sorry you had to, too." The idol was naturally protective, it was ingrained in her to keep bad things from ever happening to those she cared about. Funny enough, she was failing quite spectacularly at that, too. Ping looked strange and scruffy. He was a stray after all, even with the fancy VorTech collar with a camera and microphone and a GPS tracking signal. "These are proving to be very useful, actually." Damian had a half smile. "Now we have dozens of stray cat spies with these things on. We have eyes and ears through the entire city." The idol gave Ping a grateful petting session. "Welcome to the team, Ping." She said quietly.

With Yui secured, now they could do something else. It would be Aria's first time to propose a mission but she knew it was time. "Mizuki is at Camp Epsilon." She said. "I'll go and rescue her, alone if I have to. Any of you are free to help if you want." The HIVE would be joining too, Raven and Fox in particular expressed a desire in giving their assistance, in exchange for the help they gave during Setagaya. "Leo, make sure you have all the heart health stuff I wrote to you about, we're going to need them now." Two years was two years too long. It was time to take Mizu back.

----

Camp Epsilon was in upheaval. People were noticing how Mizuki wasn't put to work, how she was given special treatment. General Matsuoka, cruel and sadistic to most people, was kind to the child. Sure, they pitied her at first, they felt bad in the beginning, but resentment at their elongated capture only worsened with how cheery and unaffected by all of this the child was. While their minds and bodies were being broken, Mizuki went about each day with hardly a care in a world, at least to them. Sometimes she was even let out of the Camp and taken to the Roppongi Building where they actually had heating, something that didn't exist in the worker's barracks at any of the work camps. Even a special doctor was assigned to her by Shoku, known as Doctor Medicus. He had a son who was a resident but the son wasn't given approved access to the camps yet. Even if Mizuki told her fellow campers about the torture, with how smiley she was, no one would believe it. Maybe if she was the type to cry, but monsters don't cry, not for real anyways.

"Why do you get all the special treatment?" This wasn't the first time she was confronted and who knows? Maybe it wouldn't be the last, either. "Last time we did this the guards had to step in to protect you." The man held the butcher's knife in his hands and he was almost frothing at the mouth, Mizuki almost wanted to laugh. "But no guards stepped in when the Yakuza campers killed by sister just for refusing to date them! Why are you the only one protected?" A sickness had come and gone through the camp and in that time Mizuki was the only one put in quarantine in order to protect her from the infection. The others were simply made to work harder and hope for the best. "I guess the General likes me, then?" Mizuki smiled innocently. "Maybe because you're the type to brandish a knife in front of a little girl, maybe that's why he doesn't like you."

The man, Sato if she remembered correctly... not that she cared too much about remembering anyone here, really, he surged forward, with his friends making sure Mizu couldn't easily break out. "You with that smug smile, we're all sick of you. We thought you were a sweet kid, but you're the opposite. You're vile." So they were serious now, then? "Then let's play a game, mister! Let's play hide and seek!" If this was the only way, so be it. She ripped her pants right where her light bearing mark was, smiling like a doll would. "Just remember that I'm a light bearer, okay? Step aside or I'll kill you three." The sight of it was enough to stun them into letting her push past.

"But if you can find me, then feel free to do as you wish, okay?" This wasn't going to end up being anything major anyways. Matsuoka would find out and once again come to the rescue as always.

But he didn't. Because at the moment, a fight was threatening to break out between rescue forces and Matsuoka. The Black Reaper was back on the front lines, too. When those with a grudge against the youngest Matsuri realized that the guards weren't coming to save her, they took up arms. "Let's have a worker's revolt and break out ourselves!" An disorganized angry raging mob formed, with two goals. One, escape. Two, kill the General, the guards, and Mizuki Matsuri.

-------------

"Men, today is when we get the Prophecy for ourselves." K said with a smile as he - he was a he today - approached Camp Epsilon. Natsuo was at Epsilon, he arrived with his squad when he heard of the worker uprising. And since he was the Bearer, Mortimer knew it was time to strike. "Let's find and take Natsuo Matsuri for ourselves, friends." This would be their first offensive against Ira Shoku. Without the Prophecy, exact method to bring the Goddess to ascension, or darkness, or even to retain her humanity are all but impossible.

Yui glowed underneath Aria's praise. "Yui did what Ari... what Ari told her to!" She beamed, "oh, but Yui did not... defeat," she expressed, not remembering the word 'kill.' Yui listened as Aria opened up about finding out where her sister was. "Yui will help!" She volunteered, raising her hand. "Ping will help!" Yui nodded her head knowingly as Damian reached across the table to pat Aria's hand. "We're all going to help, Mizuki is family." And as family, she would have a place here, always. "Another girl?" Allyana's eyes lit up at the idea of having someone to talk to that could form actual sentences and didn't need to rifle through a dictionary to express what she was trying to convey. Not to discredit Yui, who was truly giving it her all in trying to expand her vocabulary, it was just boring waiting five minutes for a person to string together one thought.

That night, Damian gave Ping a bath, saying that the cat needed to be clean if it was going to live here. Yui opened up the door to Aria's room ever so slightly, "Ari?" She whispered, clutching one of the stuffed animals that had been in the carousel. It was a Shiba Inu, the guard dog of the Emperor. "Ari?" Yui tip toed inside, walking to the edge of the bed. Ping slipped into the threshold before Yui closed the door and sneakily, Yui clambered her way in, squeezing herself into Aria's arms. Ping jumped onto the bed, sleeping on the edge. "Goodnight," Yui whispered, closing her eyes, able to fall asleep knowing that the Little Sinner was protecting her. Had anyone gone through the pockets of the coat Yui had stolen while living on the streets, aside from four hundred yen, they would have found a picture of the Little Sinner, in her signature idol pose.

They woke up before the sun rose. Hime, Mayumi, Raven, and Fox had shown up to help plan, each with a team of Light Bearers and HIVE agents. Yui took her bath, savoring the warm water before Ally came to dress her up. Even during such a vital mission, Allyana had an outfit prepared. It was her final homage to Jenny, the sweet lolita. Yui bound down the steps to the busy lobby, where the table from the kitchen had been dragged in to make room for maps and battle theory. Leo beckoned Yui over, taking her hands to examine how the frostbite was. "They look good, but leave the wrappings on and don't forget your gloves." Yui nodded, giving a salute before running over to the table to join the excitement. "What can... what can Yui do?" She inquired, jumping to look between the tall people. Raven nudged her, lifting Yui up and placing her on a chair so that she could see.

"Yui, you can help with evacuations. You'll be directing the refugees to buses. Can you do that?" Yui nodded, "Yui can!" She raised her hand, Ping jumping onto the chair. "Who is this?" Hime asked and Yui knelt down, lifting the cat up. "Ping! Ping is Yui friend!" She did not mention where she had found him, feeling odd about confessing to the table that she had been lost in Shibuya for nearly a week. Damian had expressively told the others to keep it secret and Mayumi and Hime were not at liberty to discuss such a thing with Raven and Fox present anyhow. "The Black Reaper is back in commission, no one is to engage him at any and all costs." Hime stressed, not wanting to lose anymore of her footmen on this mission. Yui nodded, swallowing hard, she looked up at Aria and tugged on her sleeve. "Yui will help find Mizuki," she promised, her light bearing mark seeming to glow ever so slightly underneath her outfit. The past week had caused the darkness to stir and spread, but today, being back with her family made the light within glow.

Aria felt uneasy, she wanted Yui with her just in case because the one time she took her eye off of the fish was the time Yui was taken away. There was always a risk that that could happen again. But Hime and the Matriarch both expressed the need for Aria to be on the front lines if she wanted to rescue Mizuki in time. For some reason there was activity happening inside the camp and Aria wasn't sure what was going on, but she needed to get to the bottom of it before it was too late. She was donned in her school uniform, with a traditional-themed coat for warmth, and a mask to protect her identity. The Kasamino Academy uniform was entirely for Mizu's sake, so that Mizu would recognize her even with the mask on. "My job is to be the spear that breaks their formation." Aria was the strongest of them, she would be their wrecking ball. "I'll be at her side, naturally." Fox said, wearing his own fox mask to go with her.

"Remember, Yui." Aria warned before she left to the front. "If we lose you, I'm flushing Ping down the toilet, so you better not get kidnapped again."

Luckily Ally would be right there at Yui's side. In the past week, when Ally wasn't in dreams or bugging cats, she was training. Training to be strong - probably never as strong as Jenny, but strong enough to be worth her own salt. The girl was learning guns, though she didn't want to kill so she had tranquilizer darts in her custom-made gun instead, thanks to her father's genius engineering smarts. Her aim was above average for beginners, so hopefully she and Yui together would be a good duo for the evacuation squad. Aria stood at the forefront with Raven in her new baby, raving to go. Fox was with her as well. The three of them were the front line, with HIVE agents and secondary freedom fighters from Hime's undersea base assisting from the sides.

Facing them was the famed General Matsuoka, one of Shoku's more decorated allies. This man fought and defended them from China's attack in the Chinese-Japanese war of 2030, around ten years ago. He definitely had experience against China's mech suit armies, but was he prepared for light bearers and an army of criminals bearing military-grade arms stolen from Setagaya? Not to mention the Ionic Tank Raven created, it was finally ready for action. Raven took the microphone, grinning from ear to ear.

"People of Camp Epsilon, rejoice! Your saviors are here to save the day!" She shouted as the twin dragons of fire and wind rose up into the sky as a symbol of rebellion. "After all these years, it's time to stand up and fight!" The dragons burst forward, rushing right at the military battalion where the General stood like a shield wall to guard the camp. "Go." Raven said to Aria and the Fox. "I'll command the troops, you guys do your thing." The Black Reaper was here too, eager to get a piece of the action. Don't engage was Hime's order, but Raven wasn't under Hime's jurisdiction.

So she fired a railgun shot from her tank right at the Black Reaper who blocked it with his blood tails. "Idiot, it's electricity, blood conducts electricity too!" Not as well as seawater, but better than water because of the iron. The Black Reaper got a taste of electricity but somehow he seemed to shrug it off. It was enough electricity to take out a bull, so how was he still standing? "Shoku must have taught you well, then." She opened the top of her tank and glared at him. Aria and Fox were directly engaging the General, so it was up to Raven to handle the Black Reaper.

"It's been a long time, brother." She whispered to herself, thinking of days long past, of days that could have been. "I'm your opponent today, Reaper. Just try and kill me." And so Raven flooded Ronan's mind with seeds, each one screaming at him to obey her and shed the shackles that bonded him to Ira Shoku's control.

Someone was knocking on the door. Who could it be, who was banging? Mizuki sadly, wasn't burnable like a book so there was no such thing as a perfect hiding place, but the girl's bathroom was as good a place as any, right? Even if someone came in they'd have to check every stall and by then she could sneakily escape while they're busy distracted by the stalls. The knocking grew more incessant but then the door was blown down. Someone entered and then Mizu had the strangest feeling. So she peeked out from the top, standing on her tippie toes on the toilet seat.

That wasn't an labor slave at all.

"Natsuo?"

"Yui will be safe!" She promised, giving Aria a thumb's up and a grin. The little fish dug into her pocket, taking out an envelope and pushing it into Aria's hands. "Luck," Yui said quietly, the severity of the situation hitting her hard. The Meiji Jingu had, had a box full of those lucky envelopes. Yui had only gone there once, but hadn't returned due to the aura surrounding it. She felt as though she didn't belong in someplace so holy. Her, a street rat with only a rag-tag group of stray cats to call her friends. So Yui had stayed away after taking two lucky envelopes, knowing that if she ever opened them, they would no longer be lucky. "Um, Yui is going to... protect! Yui will protect friends." They would be rescuing whoever they could out of the labor camp but that didn't guarantee that they could save them all. Even the runt understood the severity of breaking into a place like this, especially with the Black Reaper present.

Her's and Ally's jobs were mainly by the gate, away from the fighting. They were to protect those the HIVE and FF saved from the Enforcers and round them up onto the buses. Yui's heart raced as she thought about the implications of being seen, what could happen if any of them were taken. Not only as light bearers, but as law breakers. They would be punished heartily, Ira Shoku would not hold back his rage. Yui swallowed hard as she clambered into the car, leaving Ping behind to guard the house. Damian gently helped Yui put on her gloves and she wiggled her fingers, not liking how confining they were. "Remember what Leo said," he whispered. Leo had gone to work this morning of course, he had a real life and a job with obligations to the hospital as a future Doctor. Just like his Father, Leo was going to go into General Surgery, an intensive, high demand career.

The gates slowly opened, Yui stood outside in the howling snow as the sun began to rise, casting shadows across the ground. She shivered, glad that she would not have to go inside of the camp and see what conditions these miserable labor slaves were living in. Ally stood beside her, gun cocked and at the ready. Yui had her blood sword, although she didn't anticipate needing it. Ally wore a rabbit mask, one that only covered half of her face, obscuring from the nose and up. Yui did not wear one, her sensory issues did not allow it and so she donned a medical mask that covered her nose and mouth, hiding at least some of her identity. It was one of Ally's cosplay tools really, Yui was just borrowing it for the mission.

It didn't take long for the refugees to begin pouring through the gates. They stumbled over themselves, some bloodied due to the riot they had thrown, others carrying weapons to defend themselves from the enforces. "Remember what we're supposed to say?" Ally inquired, giving a shove to a boy that had fallen. "Come on, keep moving, the bus is that way," Yui yelled it over the crowd, her throat scratching after what seemed like the thousandth time. "The bus is that way! Bus that way! The bus is that way!" Most listened, others were simply cattle following the crowd.

Ronan could sense her, he could feel the girl the same way that she most likely could feel the pulsating of blood in his veins. His plasma cried out for revenge, but his orders were strict. Ronan had a mission of course, she would have to wait until the hour was ripe for the picking.

Like calls to like.

He speared three pesky humans before the real meal came. The gates were shot down and standing before him was a tank with a girl inside. She shot something at him, but it hardly tickled his senses. Ronan's nostrils flared, his eyes becoming consumed in a ring of red. He turned towards the girl, feeling something in the back of his mind. "Stay out of my head!" Ronan growled, tails lashing similarly to whips overtaken by the wind. Ronan lunged, an animal like roar in the back of his throat. His tails lashed out, but it seemed the girl was smart and retreated to the inside of her tank. Ronan's collar buzzed in warning, he couldn't afford to let anymore tails lose, lest he wanted to pass out. So he pulled back, just a little bit, going for those that surrounded the tank. He split them in two, unraveling their innards like jump ropes as he threw them at the tank. Ronan grinned a sickening grin, "You won't win!" He cackled, "not against me!"

Natsuo was here. Why was her big brother here? "Mizuki." He breathed, relief coming on his face in droves. Mizu opened the stall door and stepped out. She had already stolen someone else's pants so that her mark wouldn't be visible, thankfully. "I'm here. What are you doing here?" She flashed a silly little smile. "This is the girl's bathroom, silly, you should leave!" Natsuo wasn't going to laugh at her amazingly genius joke though, how lame was that. "Don't you hear? There's a riot, the slaves are fighting back." He looked pale, and Mizu could smell the smoke coming off of his gun. "I'm getting you out of here, and then I'm going to take you to the Freedom Fighters. We're going to find someone named Hime, she'll be able to protect you." He paused in consideration but then continued. "Aria's there too, she's been a Freedom Fighter this whole time."

Well, naturally that was the case. Why else would she have never visited this whole time? Mizu had already guessed her big sister joined the rebellion, so this wasn't news to her. The riot, however, was. "An outbreak? They wouldn't be this reckless, Natsuo, that's just dumb." There have been previous attempts but Matsuoka always ended them with force before the slaves could become any danger to anyone. This time that wasn't happening. "So the Freedom Fighters are here." She shook her head then. "I'm the Bearer, Natsuo, if I'm with the Freedom Fighters, won't that put them in danger?" The girl was a strategist, unlike Aria who held the title simply for respect purposes, Mizuki was an expert thanks to all of the games she used to play. Well now she'd have two years worth of games to catch up on. "Shoku will probably focus on the Cocoon first."

Cocoon was the official title for the ear-feathered girl, because she was just a cocoon which would one day hatch and give birth to something greater. Of course, only Mizu knew the exact steps to make it work. Shoku had a good part of it done, but if he didn't want to screw up the Ultimate Weapon idea, he needed the Prophecy. At this point Yui hadn't awakened, so if she ended up dying again there was a risk she would simply die and the Light Seed would go dormant until another fated person was set to be born. "This jailbreak was a dumb idea. The most important thing is to protect the Cocoon!" Well, right now wasn't the best time to discuss things anyways. So Natsuo picked her up like a sack of potatoes. "We can continue this later, but for now, we have to go." Gun in one hand, sister in the other, Natsuo got to work.

Until another gun showed up right next to his face in the dark hall of the abandoned barracks. It belonged to a very feminine looking man with teal hair. "Hello, Bearer." He said in that silky voice of his. Natsuo raised his gun but then there was a very threatening click. "Why don't you come with me, and no one has to get hurt." K said, crinkling his eyes in a genuine smile. "You wouldn't want anything to happen to that sister of yours, do you?" Mizu knew it was best not to reveal that she was the real Oracle. She could, however, do this. "I'm a light bearer." She tore a hole in her new pants with a sad sort of sigh, revealing the dim glow of the Puppet. "If you don't want me to show you my power, let me and the Oracle go."

The flames were clearing a path, though the camp was already alight and it wasn't because of the Fox. The campers themselves did this, burning up Camp Epsilon in a blaze of rebellion. "Down with Shoku! "The armed ones cried. "We won't live oppressed any longer!" They were fighting carefully, only shooting from behind cover against the few guards still in the place. The main military force guarding Camp Epsilon was stuck outside, dealing with the duo of Aria and Fox as they fought to gain access to the camp proper. "We gotta go fast, Fox, I don't want to do all this just to find a burnt corpse for a sister!" He nodded, flicking a finger to generate a wall of flames at General Matsuoka. "Please excuse us, we have more important things to do than to play with you."

"I assume this is about Mizuki, isn't it?" Matsuoka grinned, already ordering soldiers to extinguish the flames set up by Foxie. "Well, you should know that she's very safe under my care." A perverted look rose on his face, the depravity of General Matsuoka finally showing through. "For being so underdeveloped, she is very attractive, I must say. Do you want to see the images? There's her first period, or when she changes, or when she's peeing..." Fury rose up in Aria as if she were a madwoman and she lunged and then almost instantly was caught in an electric net. What an idiot to have fallen into a trap. She hissed, screaming and raging against the net but to no avail. Fox growled, ready to attack but Matsuoka's grin only widened. "Don't have any funny ideas. Surrender now or I'll raise the voltage so that the bird will never fly again." What could he do? What could he do?

This time, Raven wasn't able to be the one to jump in for the save. No, she was busy dealing with the Black Reaper himself, to keep him from targeting anyone that might not be able to handle him. "You will obey my commands, Reaper." She yelled from the tank, a speaker transmitting it so that he could hear. "Don't think you stand a chance against me." This tank was built to assault the Roppongi Building, so what did the Reaper think he could do without mass explosives to fight back? Blood? Maybe against unarmored humans, but against a giant metal tank? He could just kiss his hopes goodbye.

But her soldiers were dying, and that was bad. If she lost too many men, she wouldn't be able to stand against her, well, her other enemies besides Ira Shoku. She needed to preserve them, somehow. So Raven stepped out of her tank, waving her railgun. "Stop massacreing the weak ones." She said flippantly, aiming the weapon right at her target. "You should focus fire on me instead." So the Black Reaper charged and this very well would mean death. But a vine suddenly tripped him up and some of the smoke cleared to reveal Tsukasa, with Midori on his back. "I'm only here to repay a debt, Raven." He growled, holding up a slew of heavy duty weapons like the crime lord he was. "So don't think we're allies here." Midori giggled despite her fear of the Black Reaper.

But even then, he was still too strong. Even like this the Reaper could slaughter the three of them. But it wasn't just the three of them, there was still someone else. With a resounding crack someone seemed to materialize right behind Ronan, landing a sharp kick right to the back of his head. Xavier, wearing a mask that made him look like a wild beast looking to kill. "That was for Jenny." He yelled, kicking again. "Die, just die!" But this was precisely what Raven was planning for. As Xavier pummeled the now unconscious Ronan, Raven stuck him in the back with a syringe stolen from her very own mother's stores, sending Xavier into a slump. She dialed up Damian. "The plan worked. The package is secured." She sighed, slightly surprised she was still alive. "I don't know how you knew he'd show up like this, Damian, but good job."

The brief distraction of tranquilizing Xavier was enough time for a blood tail to snake up and skewer her through the gut, intestines spilling out her front. The Reaper wasn't asleep, and even if all the bones in his limbs were shattered, his tails were lethal enough to still get his target.

|| Never Enough|| The Greatest Showman ||

It seemed as though all of the refugees were out, but Yui didn't see Aria and she hadn't seen the little girl that Ari had described. "Yui go in!" Ally nodded, "I'll come too." Together they made their way past the fires and into the burning building, splitting up. Yui headed to the left, running down the hall, past dead Enforcers and prisoners who hadn't made it out. Yui urged them to leave, feeling nauseous at the sight of all of the bodies. The child shook her head, needing to find that little girl. Several gunshots rang out from across the way, Yui assumed that was Ally and hoped that she wouldn't encounter any trouble. She turned a corner, coming across a scene that Yui wouldn't soon forget.

It was the girl, being held by an Enforcer, who was being trapped by K. Silent as a mouse, Yui tip toed up behind the purple hair figure, recalling how they had threatened Yui and her family before. She used the blunt side of her sword to hit against the pressure point in the neck, watching as K crumpled. Yui knew this man, she wasn't sure from where, but this enforcer was familiar. It struck her then that he looked similar to Aria. "Brother? Aria brother?" She asked, trying to sound threatening and mysterious but through the mask her voice came out a bit muffled. "Yes, I'm on your side," he nodded and Yui ushered them to follow her, ear feathers glistening in the low light. Yui grinned, feeling victorious. She had gotten the girl! Aria was going to be so very happy! Yui shook her head, she had to focus and get them out of here.

A few more twists and turns and after fending off a few Enforcers, Yui brought them out into the open, where Damian was waiting with a getaway van. "Good job Yui," he gave her a high five and offered a wave to Mizuki. "Hello there, remember me? I'm Damian, one of Aria's friends." Natsuo placed Mizuki inside of the maintenance truck, which was quite large and had plenty of room for them plus the equipment. "Damian," Natuso nodded, Damian waved and silently the boy went. Yui removed her mask, breathing in relief at the feel of the cold on her skin. She returned her sword to her body and wiggled her gloves off, offering a hand to Mizuki to shake. "Hello, Yui is friend Aria." She attempted to explain, doing her best to be friendly. Would Aria still want Yui around? Would she still consider the little fish family if Mizuki was here? Yui hoped so, she didn't want their nightly snuggle tradition to be impeded, it would be lonely.

Several gunshots rang out, deafening even with all of the fighting going on outside. Matsouka dropped like a rock as the tranquilizers deposited into his bloodstream, enough to put out a moose. Surely it would be an overdose, but Ally didn't consider these things when she saw Aria trapped and the Fox in no position to help. "Surprise," Ally said, receiving the signal from Damian that it was time to go, they couldn't afford to be here any longer, soon the back up Enforcer's would arrive in droves and when they did the Freedom Fighters would be cornered. "We got them all out and Yui went to check for stragglers." Ally said, seeming cocky as she slung her gun over her shoulder, squealing like a child when she accidentally hit the trigger.

Ronan was angry. His bones hurt, his body ached, but still, his fury permeated the air, spearing Raven through the stomach. Unfortunately for him, Raven's genetic signature was still programmed into his collar and therefore, Ronan could not hurt Raven without consequence. He choked as he felt the piercing in his neck, the stab that meant he had done the wrong thing. Ronan let Raven drop and his tails went mad, lashing at anything within five hundred feet of him. He clawed at the snow, attempting to rise, but Xavier had beaten the bloody hell out of him and combined with the hallucinogen, Ronan was at his most helpless. So his tails protected him, forming a barrier around his body that nothing would be able to get through. "Die," Ronan managed to hiss before he passed out.

"You never learn, do you?" He awoke to lights shining in his eyes. Ronan did not cower despite the claw that reached down to grab him from the snow. It carried him up into the helicopter and deposited him on the ground. Shoku wasn't there, but his voice was, a holo eyeing Ronan with clear disappointment. "The camp is in ruins Ronan and I only asked one thing of you. You let your rage get the better of you again." He was shoved onto a stretcher between several enforcers and a paramedic, who strapped him down. Ronan swallowed, feeling the weight of the electric cuff on his arm. It would heal him, but not without consequence. "I did... what you asked," Ronan panted, struggling to breathe with the straps holding him down. He felt claustrophobic, as though he was back inside of that cage.

"You could have killed her!" He was talking about Haruka of course, the daughter he loved despite the fact that she despised him. "I implanted... the tracker," he heaved. Ronan had even used some bodies as paint, turning her tank into a bloodied mess. "You've failed me once more Ronan, I can't let this go unpunished." Ronan closed his eyes, he knew it was coming, he knew what was coming.

There was a chill in his bones despite the warmth. The enforcers lifted the stretcher out of the helicopter and began rolling it into the elevator of a nondescript building. Down several levels they went, until they were beneath the ground. Ronan swallowed hard, opening his eyes at the familiar room. "Open your mouth," Shoku ordered and Ronan obeyed, the chalky taste of the pill left on his tongue. The enforcers shoved Ronan to his feet, bones still on the mend, and chained him to the ceiling, his arms hanging above his head. "You earned this Ronan, just remember, every time you cross me, you earn another strike." Ronan hung his head, his clothes were removed, everything aside from his trunks gone. He felt the sting of the whip on his skin, another lashing, the scars on his back still raw from the last one. "Let's make this more fun, maybe now you'll learn your lesson."

He felt the pinch of a needle and his world swam. A hallucinogenic had been administered, ensuring that he would be having an awful night.
