As he trudged into his second last class of the day, he was already dreading the thoughts of work. He could probably catch an hour or two of sleep before work which should make it a little more bearable, but he'd seen the reservations list and it looked like they were going to be insanely busy. He'd probably make more than usual in tips thanks to sheer volume, but was it really worth it? He flopped into his usual seat and ran his hands down his face. At least English was usually bearable. That was, until five minutes into class, when Mr. Walters said the most dreaded two words he possibly could.
"That's right, it's a group project. I've got you assigned into groups of two or three, let's see..." As Cam's friends were slowly put into groups that weren't with him, Cam stared around at the remaining people who he could possibly be paired with. All of the possibly suitable options were rapidly disappearing, and Cam jumped as he heard his name.
"Cameron Hooper and Santiago Alvarez."
You have got to be kidding me. The resident rich kid. Too damn pretty for his own good, or for anyone else's. Cam rolled his eyes, picked up his bag, and threw himself into the recently vacated seat in front of Alvarez. "Cam," was all he said by way of introduction.

Another glorious night for the Alvarez Princess as people called him. Waking up in the morning for school was about the hardest he got. A storm happening the night before, he slept all eight hours he needed, and felt amazing. He couldn't understand how people didn't sleep easy, they must just be imbeciles. With summer rapidly approaching, people continued to text, tweet, and dm him about his upcoming annual End of the School Year Bash. He was feeling the pressure. Senior year was rapidly approaching, him being one of the youngest juniors to be apart of this class. He wasn't only good looking, but he was intelligent. Daddy didn't raise an idiot.
"Santi! I just can't wait till we party our asses off. You're gonna throw your bash right?," his friend Meaghan had asked as he smiled. Rolling his eyes and shutting his locker he began to speak. "Ummm duh, does it look like anyone else has a big enough house to fit the entire up and coming senior class, I don't think so." a scoff came from the male, as he would hug her and give her a kiss on the cheek before waving her bye, and heading to his next to last class.
Mr. Walters wasn't his absolute favorite teacher. But, Santiago didn't hate him. He was just a bit...unorthodox in the partnerships. Not choosing Santiago with his friends, but placing him with the Southside students who Santiago had grown to have a distaste for. He wasn't against the poor, his father wanted him to embrace the poorness of others. But the Southside were disgusting scum. They were all thieves and liars, especially when it came to Santiago. Which is why Santiago was just on his phone ignoring the classroom buzz when his attention was cut clear to hearing two names that should not be placed together ever.
"Cameron Hooper and Santiago Alvarez."
Excuse me what??? the male thought looking towards the male who suddenly appeared before him, his upset with the decision still upon his face. "Santiago Alvarez, my friends call me Santi. You can call me Santiago." he spoke with an annoyed tone. Looking him up and down, he wasn't the worst looking Southsider but he was still a poor wannabe.

"I want you all to pick one relationship from one of Shakespeare's plays and examine it from a modern perspective. If you were to recreate the play today, would the relationship still be the same? Or would it be seen in a different way?"
Cam groaned, turning back towards Alvarez. "So, Your Highness, any preference? I live to serve after all." He knew Walters wasn't the type to change groups after he'd assigned them. Cam could beg all he wanted, but he'd be stuck with Alvarez no matter what. Group projects weren't ideal for him, even if he'd been assigned one of his best friends. He only had an hour, two if he was lucky, free after school each day, and he was usually working at least one day every weekend. Getting his homework done was hard enough. Having to meet someone else, work around his schedule... it was impossible. And he sure as hell wasn't inviting Alvarez over to their apartment so the Alvarez Princess could judge how he lived.

Santiago crossed his arms glaring at the male, his piercing green eyes studied him. Was that an actual attempt at snark? Irritating beyond measure. He looked up to the teacher and rolled his eyes before raising his hand and speaking without being called upon. "Mr. Walters, why do we have a project going into summer? Is this providing extra credit for our senior year?," he asked looking towards the man before hearing Cameron speak. Another eye roll was made present. He looked up towards the board to see the topic of the project. He felt intrigued, he had always wanted to pursue acting. Leading every school musical, and production.
"I want you all to pick one relationship from one of Shakespeare's plays and examine it from a modern perspective. If you were to recreate the play today, would the relationship still be the same? Or would it be seen in a different way?"
This boy was so irritating with this "Your Highness" thing. He got it, he was a "princess", but it was more of an insult used by his father's rivals to downplay his father's business by attacking his flamboyant and extravagant son. Irritation played on Santiago's face. "Considering as how we're both from Houses Montague and Capulet, we could do Romeo and Juliet. But we are not even close to being in love, and no offense but we just met. Any ideas? I'm assuming we'll do this at my manor, rather than your trailer, right? I have a guest house we can use for this...endeavor," he spoke out. His eyes meeting Cameron. A glint of an idea came to his mind. He was going to Taming of the Shrew this Southside idiot.

He pointedly raised an eyebrow at the Montague and Capulet comment. However, the ensuing comments made fire start to burn in Cam's stomach- especially the trailer comment. But he refused to rise to Alvarez. His eyebrow still raised, he swept an arm into a seated bow. "Why, thank you sire! I am so grateful to be allowed to step within your guest house. Please, let me know if you ever need my services in crossing puddles. I shall make use of this humble scarf to ensure that Your Highness' shoes do not have to touch water." He sat back in his chair, arms crossed. "I have work this evening, so I'll have to make sure that I have time to get to your 'guest house' and back. The library would work better for me."
In reality, it didn't make a huge difference. But the thought of making Santiago Alvarez step into a library not owned and curated by his father was too much to pass up. And having to go to the Alvarez house, where he'd probably even be forbidden from touching anything, even in the guest house.

Just what he needed, more snark. And doing this at a public library? What if the rumors about Southsiders were true and he was just gonna lure him into the library to have his way with him. No thank you, especially with him working? Something was gonna have to have been done with it. Maybe his father could easily pay for whatever expenses he needed to take care of. Rolling his eyes once more he began to speak. "You can't just ditch work? I'm sure my father can compensate for whatever you earn. And I'm not setting a foot on any Southside library. My father publically donates to all the ones on the Northside," he spoke crossing his arms. His eyes focused on the male, what was his deal? Santiago had never interacted with the male, but he did look oddly familiar. Maybe he was a worker at one of the restaurants that he and his friends went to often after school, or on their nights out. The male shrugged before looking Cameron over again.
"Do I know you from somewhere?" he asked with a curious look.

"Fine, I'l come visit the Alvarez guesthouse. Your butler can drive me to work." If he was conceding a victory, he sure as hell wasn't going to give up the chance to get a sarcastic comment in. There was something in Santiago's gaze, curious and analytic, that made Cam a little uneasy. Not that he'd dare show it. Outwardly, he didn't as much as flinch. The question made him raise an eyebrow.
"I work in Ivory downtown most evenings, you might have seen me there. Because that's pretty much all I do. And I can't just ditch work because I need this job long-term. I start at five thirty this evening, does that suit sir?" He asked. He was fairly sure he had seen the youngest Alvarez in there on occasion, because he tended to avoid the tables full of rich kids like the plague. Especially if they were also juniors or people he recognised. He claimed it was because they didn't tip as well as some other patrons, but also because he didn't want the painful awkwardness of working for people his own age. Or worse, younger. He made a mental note to avoid those tables even more in particular. The whole sarcasm had probably just killed his chances of a decent tip.

"You don't need to quit, but my father can be very persuasive. You could have your job, and still, put forth full-time effort into this. I'm not gonna risk my future as a senior, for your need of a job. If anything, my father has paid internships at his law firm." he spoke rolling his eyes. He didn't care for the male's needs, he cared for his own. Much like how his father taught him, take care of yourself first then others. He didn't feel for the boy, so what? He had to work harder to get things? Santiago didn't, and he was still a decent person. The Your Highness thing was starting to really irritate him, but he calmed himself down to not let it be seen as much as he looked towards Cameron.
His tone was something of bitterness. Nothing Santiago wasn't used to from the lower class. They all seemed to have some sort of irritation with him. They should work on that, he rolled his eyes. "Antony will pick us up after school, and take us to the guest house. We can discuss more there. he spoke rolling his eyes as the bell rung and he would head to his last class.

He'd been joking about the butler comment, but when Alvarez honest to god said that their driver was going to pick him up, Cam just raised his eyebrows and smirked. As the bell rung, he picked up his bag and headed for his next class. It was a welcome reprieve from the Alvarez Princess, and he and one of his friends spent most of the class trading notes in which they ranted about their partners in English class. Once the final bell rung, all too soon, Cam began the trudge to meet Alvarez. He took his time, stopping at his locker to make sure he had the books he needed, and texting his dad to say that he wouldn't be home, that he had to go work on a project and then had to go straight to work. He took a deep breath and took a step outside, looking around for Alvarez or their limo or whatever the hell he was going to be subjected to.

Southsiders were so infuriating, he thought. His dark green eye focused on the male before he left. Why were they so fucking irritating. He had so graciously offered the male something he could do, he definitely deserved to be shown how Northsiders are superior. He would begin to concoct his plan, as he moved to his last class of the day. Theater. His favorite class, as it should be. Something he excelled at, being the center of attention. They had just started going over this year's musical, The Heathers, which Santiago had made a possibility. He'd be playing the HBIC herself, well himself, Heather Chandler. Having a good part of helping the department out, he found a genderbent version of the musical. And was very proud of his findings.
An hour of running lines with Meaghan and Charlize his two right hands, he would hear the lat bell of the day begin to ring and would send kisses to them before walking out. His bag on his shoulder, as he moved to where Antony always picked him up. Not saying a word as he got in, he spotted Cameron and waved him over getting out of the back of the car and he would motion towards Cameron once more to hurry up.
