Rebellion: Rebirth

Introduction

For centuries Werewolves have ruled the wolf race and all its factions entirely. Three Werewolves, brothers, hold power and are recorded in the histories as "The Ancients" because they have ruled for so long. These brothers are firmly set on following the Werewolf traditions as the basis of all rules in all of Everingham, for every race and faction alike. Not everyone agrees, and thus grew a feud between the wolf factions, alliances forming between the other races in Everingham. Though it is absolutely forbidden, there have been several forbidden loves – that is inter-racial couples. For years, these loves were kept under the radar, but now they have been discovered by The Ancients, and they are not at all pleased.

[See: Lycans vs Werewolves . Scroll down to the first post. I chose to run with this explanation and make it unique to our story.]

First, the Werewolves. This ruling faction is quite large and assumes power upon birth. The Three Ancients rule their Werewolf decendents easily, given that all Werewolves agree. The Werewolves are obsessed with tradition and are often very harsh. Their way of thinking has not really evolved, yet they are aware of the new thought processes and advancements in technology. As a result of their more traditional lifestyle, they think they are superior by divine right over every race, not just the wolf factions. Therefore, it is common to see Goblins and Ogres employed, often by force, within the walls of the Werewolf city of Netherfield. The city, much like it's an inhabitants, is traditional and almost medieval with it's stone walls and iron gates. There are even two drawbridges and a mote. Werewolves hold a sacred orb in the temple on an island to the Northwest. This orb, only accessible by The Ancients, allows the user to see what is going on in every part of Everingham to an extent. The user must focus on one topic of interest, and the orb will find the most relavent to this thought. For instance, if one were to think Shapeshifter, the most relavent would be the Monarch. But if one thought Shapeshifter threats they might come across a shapeshifter who is rebelling, even in the smallest degree. Abilities specific to Werewolves include: uncontrolled shifting, particularly during a full moon, moonlight energy--this happens during a full moon shift--increased strength, increased speed, and Moon-rage--when the Werewolf shifts during a full moon and has absorbed quite a bit of moonlight energy (has been shifted for awhile), Moon-rage occurs, which gives the Werewolf double strength, speed, and also enhances its eyesight, and throws it into an unstopple fit of rage, making it almost impossible to defeat. Very few have lived while fighting a Moon-rage affected Werewolf. Moon-rage is a brief but deadly fit of rage and will leave the Werewolf extremely exhausted. Oh, and Werewolves do still require being bitten or cursed to become a Werewolf, so when a new child is born in Netherfield, The Ancients demand he or she be immediately transformed. As a result of not being wholly a wolf, Werewolves have no tails in their transformed body. When they are in their human state, their sharp teeth are clearly visible when their lips move. Also, they do not age as quickly--whereas humans can only live to about 100, Werewolves can live for many, many centuries.

*Note: Moonlight Energy is similar to the Boost Theory. See: Shapeshifter Limitations*

Second, the Lycans. Lycans, unlike Werewolves, have more control over their shifting, a fact that the Werewolves despise, mainly out of jealousy, but also because it is not traditional to the wolf race. Lycans have disagreed with the Werewolvian traditions and lifestyle since the split--which occurred during the time of The Ancients' father--and have avoided contact with them. They still must answer to the Werewolves, but only because of their power. None have been brave or strong enough to overcome even a fraction of the Werewolvian army, so they must sit in silent disagreement for the time being. While the Werewolves rule overall, the Lycan city of Pemberly does have a ruler, a male of great royalty in the Lycan faction. This ruler, known as “Lord,” is very vaguely seen or known, but his word is law in the city, as is The Anceints' word law of the world of Everingham. Abilities specific to Lycans include: Controlled shifting to an extent--they still shift on a full moon and are capable of gaining Moonlight energy, but not Moon-rage. They, unfortunately, have damaged eyesight when in the lycan form, so many Lycans prefer to stay in their human form in order to see better. While in their Lycan (half wolf, half human) form, Lycans can have exceptional hearing -- like a wolf-- they can jump higher, and run fairly fast, and are very strong. Their appearance in their human form may consist of thick eyebrows, fast growing and general thick facial hair [male only], lots of arm and leg hair [male only, females can shave], generally untamed hair, thick chest hair [male only], silver eyes, and two abnormally pointed incisors. Men usually keep their facial hair shaven, but it grows back throughout the day. As for their hair, they cut it weekly. In their lycan form, their abilities are enhanced, but their eyesight is weakened. They, also, do not age as quickly.

Third, the Shapeshifters. Shapeshifters have complete control over the time in which they change, and also into what. They have limitations, of course. The Shapeshifters have family bloodlines that carry down through inheritance what each family is capable of shapeshifting into. Every family, however, can turn into a wolf. The Werewolves laothe the shapeshifters, thinking they are a disgrace to the planet. The Lycans simply ignore them, content to be neutral on the subject. As with the Lycans, the Shapeshifters are still ultimately under Werewolvian rule, but they have their own monarch. The King and Queen of the Shapeshifters are very much concerned for the well being of their faction, but also lay ground rules to keep their people safe from Werewolvian harm, such as: "No Shapeshifter shall ever love either a Lycan or a Werewolf." This protects the family bloodlines as well as their people from the wrath of the more traditional Werewolves. These Shapeshifters live in Thorton Lacey, a city nearby the Forests of Longbourn and Sotherton. Abilities specific to Shapeshifters: They appear as normal humans, but they have either bright teal blue or dark, midnight blue eyes. Because of this, they don't have many altering abilities in their human form. When they shift, they generally take on the traits of what it shifts into, these traits gaining strength or weakness according to inheritance and genes. They also do not age as quickly.

Shapeshifter Limitations

1. Regardless of what form the Shifter is in, their voicebox does not change in any way whatsoever.
2. Boost Theory - After shifting forms, depending on what it is they shift into, the Shifter gains a slight boost of whatever the animal or creature is specialized in. For example: A dolphin or seal would have a fast swim speed and increased under water breathing. A horse or a wolf would have increased run speed, but it would not allow the Shifter to gain a cheetah’s speed, simply because of the limitations on how much boost the Shifter is getting.
3. The Shifter can only shift into something relative to its own power. For instance, a more practiced Shifter could potentially shift into a large dragon; however, a lesser trained and practiced Shifter may only be able to shift in a small dragon whelp.
4. Strain Theory – When a Shifter shifts too much in a certain amount of time, the Shifter can develop a sickness known as “Shifter’s Strain.” Symptoms include: Weakness, fatigue, vertigo, vomiting, headaches/migraines, fever. The sickness will last a minimum of 24 hours, but can last up to a week if the case is severe enough.
5. Cooldown Theory – Each form taken has a cooldown. After shifting to a form once, if the shifter shifts out of said form, it is harder to shift back into it for awhile. For instance, John Boy shifts into a bear and then immediately shifts back into a human, realizing he’d forgotten something. It would then be easier for John Boy to shift into a wolf or a horse than a bear again. If he proceeded to shift into a bear again, John Boy would have a significantly higher chance of contracting Shifter’s Strain.
6. Time Limitation Theory – The longer a Shifter stays in a particular form, after overcoming the effects of the Strain Theory, the harder it is to shift back into the human form. Essentially, the body adapts itself to the shifted form, rather than the human form, reversing and cycling back through all of the effects of the Strain Theory as the Shifter tries to go from a shifted form back to the human form. Basically, the Strain Theory was the body’s rejection to staying shifted out of the human form for too long, and now it’s reversed to be objected to being out of the shifted form rather than the human form for too long.
7. SHAPESHIFTERS MAY HAVE 2-3 SHAPES, BUT REMEMBER THAT IT IS BLOODLINE INHERITED, SO A FAMILY MUST HAVE THE SAME NUMBER OF SHAPES AND TYPICALLY THE SAME SHAPES.

Other races include: Goblins, Faeries, Ogres, and Forest Elves.

Goblins: Goblins are very picky and mean, often grumble and complain, but are hard working and very afraid of the wolf factions. Of all of the factions, they are more comfortable with the Shapeshifters. Otherwise, the Goblins keep to themselves in the forest caves of Sotherton. They do keep common animals, such as: donkeys, horses, goats, sheep, and various other forest animals, particularly bats found in the caves. Birds are a great feasting item for them. Goblins do have abilities specific to their race, such as: sharp, stone-like teeth and nails, green skin allowing them to absorb sunlight energy, increased strength in their small muscles, slightly increased speed when climbing, intelligence beyond most, and superior hearing to other forest creatures. Goblins can live for several centuries, but they usually work themselves to death or get killed before they reach this age. In their caves, Goblins have acquired the technology necessary to create hospitable underground cities. These cities are very technologically advanced and are made primarily from the resources of the caves.

Lava Caves
Ores

A Goblin city might resemble something like this. This is Gadgetzan and various caves from World of Warcraft, just for a quick reference. Yes, there can be subcavern lakes and bodies of water, but nothing a boat would be needed for. Generally the water is collected for drinking and bridges are built if necessary. Goblins mine for ore which they sell off or melt to use for their own devices which they then keep or sell. Goblins frequent trade routes to most places aside from Netherfield.

Faeries: Faeries are very temperamental creatures, but they tend to generally be concerned with their survival and well being. As such, they despise the Werewolves and are neutrally allied with the Lycans and Shapeshifters. They are more closely allied with the Forest Elves of Longbourn. Faeries have no particular area they call home, so often they are referred to as Nomad Faeries. Abilities specific to Faeries include: Flying, fire wielding, tiny, lightweight bodies that can fit almost anywhere without being noticed, general magic and curses. One flaw these Faeries have is that they can barely communicate. They cannot speak or write, but they can project their thoughts (like an Aura) into the minds of those they wish to hear it. However, their control of this is limited in range, so if they were too far away, no one would hear them, or if they were too close to the enemies, the enemies could hear them too. Basically, they cannot control the Area of Effect (AOE) of their Aura. However, they can hear others just fine. Faeries, unfortunately, do not have very long lifespans in the scheme of things. They can live about two or two and half centuries, but not much more. Faeries have no particular clothing style defined in Everingham, but since they are Nomad Faeries and they follow the Forest Elves around, the might, more or less, be content with wearing leaves or spinning spider's web to make a thick spider's silk for clothing.

Image

Ogres: Ogres are generally considered to be the dumbest creatures in all of Everingham, which they are. Ogres are bumbling, fumbling, idiots of superior strength and stature. These are two unique qualities of the Ogre, along with their hunched backs and thick muscles. Besides their intimidating stature, these creatures are not to be feared for they are stupid enough to be tricked into alliance with their enemies after having been captured. Ogres tend to drool a lot, but no one seems to mind so long as they stay away from them--they are not the most appealing creatures to be around, obviously. Along with lack of intelligence, ogres suffer strained, if not complete loss of, hearing, baldness, terrible teeth alignment, and general ugliness. These creatures live along the borders of Sotherton, but are often captured by Werewolves and put to work in Netherfield. Of course, there are some orgres who have escaped the sterotype, but live under it for safety reasons. If any creature were to escape the Werewolves, it would be a smart ogre rather than a lucky ogre.

*Note: You are more than welcome to play an Ogre as a main character; however, ogres might be more suitable as NPC.*

Image

Forest Elves: Forest Elves are the more sophisticated and evolved creatures of Everingham. They resemble humans, except for their long, pointed ears, and very soft features. They usually have long, flowing hair that measures anywhere from their shoulders downward [male and female]. The most common hair and eye color for a Forest Elf is blonde or white and either green or honeysuckle yellow. Forest Elves are brought up to hunt and walk through the woods with quiet precision. They have superior archery skills and enhanced weaponry combat. They run a bit faster than humans, just from the way they were brought up. Forest Elves are nature conservative the majority of the time, so their clothing is usually made of leaves, vines,. . . etc. They also tend to have good relations with the animals in the forests. They live in Longbourn, Everingham, near the Shapeshifter city of Thorton Lacey.

FAQ's

Q: What time/era is the RP set in?
A: This rp is basically set in the medieval era, but is slowly advancing. The main weaponry are swords, bows and arrows, daggers,..etc., but there are no guns. Netherfield is stuck in tradition but it is not too far behind the other areas of Everingham. The most advanced would be the Goblins simply because they are miners and sort of like engineers who live in caves. Netherfield refuses to accept or trade with the Goblins, so any ore they get for blacksmithing would come from a "tax" of sorts paid by the other areas of Everingham. Medically, Netherfield sends for specialists like the Elven cleric. Other areas of Everingham have access to their own clerics. Differences like these set Netherfield apart from the other areas of the Everingham. Consider, if you will, Netherfield being a stagnant area compared to the dynamic world of Everingham.

Posting Rules

1. The Locations Rule - The Locations Rule states that when posting in the RP "Rebellion," each player must designate their location via the Locations Drop Down Menu located by the posting box. If you have more than one character, you may simply designate the ''universe,'' or main location, as your location, but you must specify the place in Bold as if you were posting for one character and were using the Locations Drop Down Menu. The other exception to this rule is as follows: If a character is to be travelling, they are allowed to post in the ''universe'' of the RP. Otherwise, a single character player is to specifically designate their location via the Locations Drop Down Menu located above the posting box.

[ex:] Kappuke-Ki-Chu and I will most likely have more than one character. We will thus post in Everingham, the “universe” of this roleplay, all the time. We designate where each of our characters are via Bold Print after the character’s name. If our character was to be travelling, we would simply restate “Everingham” as our character’s location.
X: At the top of your application write "Viva La Rebellion!" to indicate that you have read all of the information. Applications lacking this will not be considered.
[ex:] John Doe and Sally Sue both only have one character each. John Doe’s character is a Lycan and Sally Sue’s character is a Werewolf. John Doe would choose “Pemberly” from the drop down menu, unless he intended on travelling out of the city, in which case he would choose Everingham. Sally Sue, on the other hand, would choose “Netherfield” from the drop down menu, unless she intended on travelling out of the city, in which case she would choose Everingham.

2. The Specific In-Post Locations Rule - The Specific In-Post Locations Rule states that when posting in the RP "Rebellion" should a player's character be travelling, they must specifically state the location of their whereabouts. This also applies when using the term 'forest' and 'village' or 'city.' It is possible that one could take the extra time to look up what race of character the player has, but it is easiest and best for the player to state their location within the post, even if it is listed via the Locations Rule.

[ex:] Jimmy Bob wishes to make his Goblin character travel along a trade route to Thorton Lacey to sell goods. Jimmy Bob would choose Everingham from the drop down menu, but would proceed to explain his travels and whereabouts within his post, i.e. “Frodo the Goblin left his cold damp cave in the Forest of Sotherton and took the trade route towards Thorton Lacey.”

3. The All-Readers' Posting Rule - The All-Readers' Posting Rule state that every player in the RP "Rebellion" MUST read all previously unread posts of every other player, whether they concern you or not. This helps with making sure everyone is on the same page and that everyone can successfully make their character's next move. This also helps with allowing opportunities for Character-Interaction.

Introduction

For centuries the land of Everingham has subject to the rule of the Werewolves. In the time of King Tychon, the Ancients' father, the land was in a rather peaceful state, rulers freely reigning the land separately. The King had a wonderful wife, Queen Iezabel, who bore him four sons: Christos, Benjamin, Blitz, and Liam. The four were born several years apart, but the King favored the ill-fated Liam the most. Young Liam, though loved and treasured more than his older brothers, fell prey to a disease that was spreading throughout most of the land. This disease took many infants, but none were so bereaved as the King and Queen. In a fit of inconsolable sadness, the Queen threw herself from her balcony at sunrise the day following the boy's funeral, a single tear staining her lifeless face.

The King was beside himself with grief. His youngest and most beloved son had been taken from him and now his wife as well. Tychon refused to let himself cry and he made it known to his sons that werewolves did not cry. On that day Tychon vowed to harden his heart and avenge the deaths of his wife and son the only way he knew how: taking over the land. He declared war upon all the races of Everingham and created an army like none had ever seen. "Werewolves, my sons, are the most superior race. Tradition is the bread of life. Remember this..." These words were spoken to his three remaining sons the day he left for war, a war that would last many years.

The war, known as The Great Invasion, was what empowered the werewolvian nation to supreme rule. One by one the King and his army overtook every race. The Elves and faeries were quick to submit to the King, and the goblins and ogres as well -- though most were taken captive to fight in the army or serve the Werewolves back in Netherfield. The Shapeshifters were a bit more reluctant to give up their power and pushed the Werewolvian invasion off for a month. When a battle finally broke out, the Shapeshifters relinquished their power to the King, who left their land and home in ruin. With nearly all the land conquered, the King made his way to Pemberly, the city of the Lycans. The Lycans were the most reluctant to relinquish power and for this they paid a great price. A battle raged on for nearly a year before the Lycans finally submitted to the Werewolves. Their city was in ruin and their army depleted. Women and children lay slaughtered in the streets. Angered, the Lycans formally disassociated themselves with the rest of Everingham, but were still harshly suppressed by King Tychon.

Upon his return home, Tychon was greeted with a hero's welcome and his army was quickly replenished, though few Werewolves had actually died. Tychon's sons were now coming of age, so he took them all to the Isle of the Orb and taught them each how to use it. He began to teach his sons day by day that tradition was the bread of life, that it should never be betrayed. He taught his sons to fight and rule properly, and he taught Christos how to rule with an iron fist.

As he did all this, each race slowly rebuilt itself, still in too great of a disrepair to rebel against the Werewolvian rule. Longbourn, the elven city, came under the rule of a Mayor, who pledged submission to King Tychon. Thorton Lacey, the shapeshifter city, came under the rule of a monarch, who also submitted to King Tychon. And the Lycans, who had declared themselves a separate entity, came under the rule of a Lord, who only submitted to King Tychon's reign to keep the peace. Each ruler governs their land differently, but each obeys standard Werewolvian laws in silent submission.

Nearly a century passed and over time there were several invasions by King Tychon's forces to instill fear and enforce his reign over the land, but none so brutal as The Great Invasion. Satisfied with his work, King Tychon relinquished his position to his eldest son Christos, who ruled just as harshly as his father. Tychon taught his son and guided his hand during his first decade of reign.

One day, while on his way to the Isle of the Orb, Tychon's carriage was ambushed and he was assassinated. One man escaped, a messenger, who told the three Ancients of their father's terrible death. The messenger was the victim of Christos' immediate anger, and soon to follow, all the land of Everingham. Armies of Werewolves were dispatched to enforce Christos' reign and to strike fear in the hearts of many. The Lycans fought back, but upon the death of the Lord's firstborn son, they submitted once more. The assassins of the King were never found out, but Christos has vowed to find them one day.

Centuries have passed and the Ancients rule with their father's iron fist. The number of invasions has decreased, but every couple of decades the Ancients and their army visit each of the races to determine if they are still being obeyed. They meet with the rulers of each and do business accordingly, and so far none have stepped out of line, even the Lycans. But the time is surely coming.

All was well, generally speaking, until a month ago. Christos and his brother Benjamin discovered that their youngest brother, Blitz, was breaking tradition and Werewolvian law by sleeping with an Elven woman -- a woman who'd been their prisoner no less! Enraged, Christos exiled Blitz to Shiori, the fishing island in the Northeast, and stripped him of all his power as an Ancient. He was beaten and dishonorably treated by his own people and became known as The Great Traitor. News spread quickly throughout the land of the disgraceful Ancient.

For a long time, a century even, forbidden loves -- inter-racial couples -- had been secretly forming, right under the noses of the individual rulers, as well as the Ancients. Christos and Benjamin traveled to the Isle of the Orb and discovered this blatant disobedience and were far from happy about it.

Blitz, now exiled, is cut off from Everingham, and especially Netherfield, entirely. He is bound to the land and all know him as the Great Traitor and refuse to help him. Stripped of his honor and power, he remains there, unwilling to challenge the authority of his brothers. Christos and Benjamin now have a serious political decision to make. They are losing power over the land and little do they know that this weakness is just what the other races were waiting for.

The heat of the fire caused beads of sweat to form along her brow. She turned the blade that she was heating in the fire, watching it closely before pulling it from the red hot coals. With one hand she held the weapon steadily on the anvil, with the other she raised her hammer. In a swift, smooth motion she brought the hammer down to the bright red steel. Sparks showered the area. Turning the blade she hit it again in the same spot. Kaida continued with the same motion for several minutes, then thrust the blade back into the fire.

She never looked up from her work, diligently lost in the rhythm of steel against steel. It was an order from one of the local men that she worked on. In the last couple of weeks she had been getting more and more work, requests for new weapons or repairs to old ones. Not that she minded the work, in fact she welcomed it. It gave her something to do rather then be left to her own thoughts which tended to brood on her lost father. She was just curious as to why she had the sudden boom in business. It wasn't like there was war brewing. However, the feeling that something was about to happen wouldn't leave her mind. It pricked at the back of her thoughts, made the hair stand on her neck. Deep inside, her wolf instinct was pulling, telling her to prepare herself for whatever was going to happen.

Turning, she tossed the heated blade into a large bail of water. Steam filled her open shop. It was the third blade that she'd worked on since she'd gotten up that day. The only thing left to do with them was sharpen them, wipe them down and add the final touches to both blade and handle. Kaida took one from the water bail, the steel was cooled enough for her to put it to the sharpening wheel. Her body relaxed to the sound of steel grinding. She only looked up once from her work to see if anyone had come into the open shop. Lycan's like herself busied the street outside. She returned to her work.

Netherfield

Benjamin growled, sure he was the most level headed of the brothers, and now out of him and Christos he was usually the one people prayed for when they needed an audience with an ancient. However he had pent up anger inside of him, "DAMN IT BLITZ!" he yelled as he trashed a rare vase he'd kept in his room, it had been a trophy of sorts from his father when Benjamin had first been acknowledged as a great military mind. "I should have seen this! How could he have been so foolish!" he said as paced around his room. "He spent all that time with that elf, even Christos admitted her beauty, I should have known Blitz was weaker and handled the temptress when I had my suspicions!" he said blaming Aria for the banishment of his brother. He slammed his hands into his bedroom wall, "I can't even help him now......" he thought for a few moments and then his eyes opened as he looked at the floor, "............The hell I can't," he growled as a plot unfolded in his head. He was clearly not willing to lose another family member to anyone.

Island of Shiori

Aria stepped onto the pier off a boat that had just docked on Shiori, she looked at the small village in front of her and said nothing as she began walking. Her heels made a slight clacking on the wooden pier as she walked down it and into the town, her destination was a small hut on the other side of town. It wasn't much but it was all she could afford to spare for shelter for Blitz while still maintaining her home and pharmacy and being able to afford food and things of the like. She walked in and looked around, it was in the same condition as when she left. The walls ceiling and floor were made of wood and there was one large room that served as the kitchen, living room, and bedroom, and a separate room with a toilet and sink, if they wished to bathe they had to use a lake nearby, Aria had even been peeped on twice already. She smiled as she saw Blitz fixing his pants around his hips, shirtless, with his hair wet and she assumed he'd just bathed. She loved seeing him after her week long visits to her pharmacy to do research and handle her patients.

"Blitz," she said his name softly, her voice was enchanting and made one want to here more from her in every way, it seemed as though she was justly named when one heard her voice and knew her name was Aria. She walked up to him and kissed him, her hands rubbed up his arms and rested on his shoulders as she did and then she pulled back and looked up at him. "Blitz.... Please, leave this place with me," she said softly, "I hate leaving you here, these people look at you as a sack of money, they're just waiting for the chance to kill your.... or worse, capture you and give you to your brothers for the reward money they so desperately need!" she said in a soft, urgent, worried tone, "Please, I've got three friends who've agreed to help you in Longbourn, I can keep you there with me, and whenever there's an inspection or any army movement we can have you hide in the forest or something," she said as she looked up at him, "We get word from Thorton Lacey as they are always inspected first," she explained, "Please I can't keep leaving you here wondering if you're okay... if I'll come back and find you dead or given to your brothers," her voice grew weak and her hands slid up to cup his face gently, "I I don't know what I'd do," she whimpered before resting her head on his chest.

Pemberly

"This place is so weird and confusing!!!" Nanami thought in her sweet but hyper voice in her head as she walked around. She had a horse with her, it was white with red eyes, albino probably, it had reins and a saddle set up in a color scheme that matched Nanami's outfit, on it were large boxes filled with materials and other things she'd need, she'd been sent to Pemberly on a catering job by her mentor. Kaipo, her fluff ball creature, slept on the horse's saddled as they walked through the town a building next to her steamed up and then the steam rolled over into the the air and street, she peaked in to see a woman smithing weapons and then blinked and smiled as she looked down at her paper in her hands with an explanation on it. She patted her horse so it knew to stay where it was outside the shop and then she walked in, she watched the woman sharpen the blade she was working on and waited until the woman had stopped, whether the woman was done or just stopping to check the weapon's current quality Nanami didn't know.

"UHM!" she spoke a bit loudly so the woman would hear her but it was really more nerves than making sure she was heard. She coughed once to adjust her volume and then smiled sweetly, "M Miss, could you help me?" she asked as she looked down at the paper, "I uhm, I'm looking for someone named Saoul Cronos, I'm supposed to bake and cater and set up a surprise party for him, but I don't know who he is to hide it from him, or where this spot is to go and start preparing the foods." she explained as she held the paper to the woman which had an address on it and then some notes on foods and allergies. "I uhm.... I'd love any help you could offer me, I don't have money but I'm allowed to bring a guest, s so if you wanted food you could come to that address whenever you wanted tonight and get some. I don't know if you even know him or not but since you're both black smiths I thought I may as well ask and see if you even knew of him," she said softly, the main word to describe Nanami would be cute, as everything about her had a cute soft innocent quality to it, it usually made her seem younger than she was, which she didn't mind. She smiled up at the woman noting how lovely she was even dirty from her work and thinking about how she looked scary and nice at the same time.

Kraven's Crossing

The fluttering sing-song of birds filled the air, as the busy folks of Kraven's Crossing were to go about their business. The sun shone through the light tree coverage, shading the base of their trunks, but allowing the golden shimmers to reach through their branches. Kraven's Crossing, or just 'The Crossing', as most locals referred to it as was already a bustle with business and life. The crossroads running through the town at perfect angles lead people in and out of the town. Shop vendors cried out into the wandering crowds, and children play in the street - most of them elven, although there were a few fae and ogre among them. They ran and jumped, and played, weaving in and out of the open air shops, stalls, and even between the many wood and brick houses.

In the uppards of the city, right before one went through the south post-gate, was the hastily constructed barracks, two men standing outside, and guarding. Contrary to the rest of the town, all fell silent around all of these doors. Only the murmur of voices inside the wooden structure could be made out. Occasionally, a human would go in or leave the building.

Calahad pushed open the doors, stepping down the stairs that lay right beyond the boundaries, looking across the street. His strong jaw moved from side to side, as he took in more thoughts, a smaller fellow stepping out behind him, with an archer's cap on, and a curly handlebar mustache.

"But, Sir!" The mustachioed fellow insisted, following the red-maned tower out of the building. "You must realize how dangerous this mission is! I stand no testimant to question your might... but you are a man with a banner, not a hero wielding a blade of mirth!"
"And you must know how foolish it is to try and sway me with words, Bart. Words of caution are wasted on myself. I prose to you, then, if I do not do this, whom shall?" The red giant, turning sharply at the waist to look at him. They shared eye contact for a brief moment, before Calahad turn back around, continuing down the stairs. "Do not grey your hair on my account. Simply do as I ask, friend. And I shall prevail. Keep my Keile safe. Should she try to leave, make her cease her foolishness."
The mustached man held his tongue for a long second, before shouting out to Calahad, whom had headed north, and was almost out of earshot.
"The Divine One's Blessing, Calahad! May you strike strong, and may you make those furry vermin beg for mercy!"

Calahad strode down the street, his armor clattering softly with each step under his armor, his expression lightening as he set eyes upon his people. The gentle breeze took his stern thought away, watching them as he passed by. Folk waved to him, and he nodded, smiling in return. It reminded him of home.... But presented it's own allure as well. People just knew his name, yet they treated him kindly, and with respect. He was reminded why he respected elves so much.

But as he reached the northern gate, there stood a figure in his path - a small figure; with a blonde head of hair, dressed in a blue blouse, and white skirt. Oddly enough, she was barefoot. Eyes watering, she purposely blocked Calahad's path.... The giant human stopped in his tracks to look down at her, his brown eyes looking into her watery blue ones. She lurched out to hug him, clinging on for dear life. He put a hand on her head, rubbing it softly.
"I-I don't want you to go, Cal..." The feminine voice uttered softly, behind gentle sobs. "C-can't you stay...? O-or, wait? I-It's dang-gerous out there...Y-you don-don't know how many of th-them t-there are..."
"And you would wish this problem on someone else?" Calahad posed, squatting down, almost as if one would do for a child. "Dearest Keile... this is my duty to my people. I must do this for them. Please... understand."

There was a short silence, as the two huddled together.
"L-let me come with you...! W-what would h-hap-happen if I lose you...?" Keile insisted through stifled sniffles.
"What would happen if I did? What would happen if I lost you...?" Calahad countered.

More silence.

"Leave this journey to me. I shall return home to you, I promise. No force could keep my heart from yours." Calahad finally uttered, leaning down to peck the blonde haired figure on the nose. "Stay safe for me, please." Keile finally released her grip, still sniffling and looking down - she managed to nod, even though she couldn't lift her chin. Without other words, she finally looked back up at him, and gave a much more affirming nod, still trying to wipe tears away. Keile began to go around Calahad, heading back down the street. The red giant knew that if any more words were uttered, it probably would've resulted in more sobbing, and more resistance... and he decided to let his wife fade from his sight into the crowds. He too, wiped away a few tears, but let none see it. He would have to hasten his journey... so that he could return here soon.

And with a breath, he set out into the world.

Kaida looked up immediately at the call from the front of her shop. The small girl looked at her nervously before sputtering out what was on her mind. The lycan listened intently, her gaze never leaving the young woman's. Finally, she held out a piece of paper to Kaida, who took it gently. She eyed the notes, names and address written on it and then looked up at the girl.

"I know of Saoul, he is an apprentice to another blacksmith here in the city," Kaida stood from where she had been sitting. She walked over to the table that held all of her finished weapons and set the blade down there. Turning back to her visitor, she handed the paper back to her. "I'm Kaida Vylin. I will show you to Saoul's shop," she felt a kind of relief that she had an excuse to leave her work. Besides, she enjoyed her city and she'd only seen Saoul in passing several times. It was probably about time she officially met the young man, after all he was a blacksmith just like herself. She held a high love for the craft, and was interested in how far he'd come as an apprentice. Kaida left the shop, only looking back once to see if the girl would follow, and started down the street towards Saoul's shop.

Longbourn

The beautiful city of Longbourn welcomed him as he came back from his hunting trip. Two deer pelts were tossed easily over his shoulder as he made his way through the trees. The elves built their homes and shops using what was around them. Trees, bushes and vines all woven together to form homes for each of them. Durion walked up to one such house peeking in to see if anyone was there. Two children skipped past him as he stood by the open doorway. He sidestepped, smiling as they rushed passed him giggling.

"Come in, Durion. You have what I wanted?"

"I do, Alianti."

The woman named Alianti came into view after he stepped inside her home. He handed her the skins from his shoulder and she busied herself with putting them up on a rack. She would make leather from the skins, a favored trade item with other cities. Durion waited for her to finish. Once the skins were up on the racks, she walked back to him and handed him a small leather pouch. He heard the coins inside clink together as she placed it in his hand. He reluctantly took it, having never asked her to pay him for hunting for her. Still, Alianti insisted on doing so whether he wanted it or not.

"Thank you," he would have continued but she held up her hand cutting off the rest of his reply.

"You're welcome, now I'm sure you have other business to attend to other than entertain me for the rest of the day."

Durion smiled, a soft laugh filling him. He closed his fingers around the pouch and left her house. He made his way back to his own home to put away his weapons. Afterwards, he planned on going to the springs that was at the edge of the city.

Lucian ate breakfast at the palace with three of his younger siblings,Damien,Katherine and Jericho, Emily has usually awakened by now,he mused. His parents were at a meeting and had left them in charge.Just then a door slammed open,"Her Highness,Princess Emily,is gone!" cried a maid.Lucian's eyes grew big,"What?! Are you sure?" The already panicky maid continued,"I didn't see her anywhere, there was a loud yell last night and there are wolf tracks leading out of the room!" "I bet it was one of those werewolf brothers!",Jericho exclaimed, banging the table with his fist.Lucian wasn't sure that Jericho was right, but since when could you trust them... Katherine spoke up,"Perhaps not, maybe she shifted into a wolf and then got lost in one of the castle's secret passages or she's out playing."
This gave Lucian a thought,"Amelia, how big were these tracks?" "Very large, too large to belong to Her Highness." responded the maid."Damien,Jericho check the nearby area,Katherine we'll ride into town looking for her." "Should we tell mother and father?" "Not yet." Lucian and Katherine took their respective horses and rode into town.

Saoul slammed the hammer down onto the red hot metal that rested in his firm hand on the anvil. He was primarily a swords-crafter, which turned out to be slow, but constant work as swords were readily in demand. He rarely made things for other use unless he was requested to, but even then these things consisted of horseshoes, pots, kettles, and the like. Simple house hold things really. The lycan authorities only trusted more skilled hands to make the more important, and what he considered useful, items. He had heard that another blacksmith in town, Kaida, he believed, was the one most people went to.

Today was his birthday, but no one noticed as it was every year. He didn't mind, he liked working instead of celebrating anyway. After all, what was there to celebrate without his parents there to partake? Those damn werewolves! he thought angrily. As he did the heavy hammed missed just barely and sent a few sparks flying right towards his face. He growled and dropped the hot metal and threw the hammer across the room. It hit the wooden wall with a thud, the sound of wood cracking briefly filling the air. Some pots and horseshoes, various other things as well, clattered together from the force of the hammer hitting the hall, but nothing fell.

Saoul quickly reached in the water bucket to throw the cool liquid over his face. He kicked the bucket over suddenly and then turned it over to sit on the bottom of it, angry with himself and in a good deal of pain.

Island of Shiori

Blitz had just returned from a quick bathe in the lake and was dressing when Aria walked in. He looked up from his waist, where he was fixing his pants, and let his lips turn up in a bit of smile. Since he'd been exiled, all had been hell. He'd been lonely, even though Aria constantly visited, and he'd been bored. With nothing to do, nothing to climb, and quite frankly, no one to talk to, he was forced to sit all day, whether it be in the shack, or on the beach. The beach, he had to admit, was a beautiful view. The water was clear and full of life, and there was usually a nice breeze to lessen the intensity of the harsh sun. Everyone on the island avoided him. Even though he hadn't wronged them, they looked at him as if he were fresh meat...that and as if he were the scum of the land. He couldn't get a job, had no money to his name, and because of this, Aria had had to shell out her own money for him. This was something he felt horrible about -- he should never have had to ask her for that. But without any money to his name, he had no choice but to allow her to do it.

As if reading his mind, Aria walked forward and kissed him. He gently wrapped his arms about her waist and returned her gentle kiss. As she pulled back, she began to beg him to leave. Ever since purchasing this little shack for him, Aria had been trying to convince Blitz to leave. But he couldn't. Her intentions were good and her reasons were unarguably sound, but he couldn't. As she lay her head on his chest, Blitz remained silent and merely held her close for a few moments.

"I can't, you know that. The wrath my brothers would unleash would be unforgivable," he told her. "I can't put you, or your people, in that danger....and you know I'll be fine here. I can hold my own," he said lightly, hoping to ease her troubled mind.

Netherfield

Christos paced in the armory uneasily. He had throwing knives laid out on the table and with a sudden fit of rage, he grabbed one, turned and threw it in the direction of a guard standing motionlessly near the door. The knife grazed the man's neck, and the wide eyed guard still refused to move. He knew if he did, Christos wouldn't miss the next time. "Ah, steadfast and brave," Christos said as he moved towards the guard to pull the knife from the wall. "If only my brother had been so wise," he mused. He growled as he pulled the knife from the wall and walked away, pacing again.

"Get my brother," he ordered. The guard hesitated. "Not the banished one, you fool!" Christos chastised. The guard quickly ran off to obey, not wanting to get another knife thrown his way.

Nanami smiled up at the woman who had introduced herself as a, Kaida Vylin. As they left Kaida's smithery Nanami grabbed her horse and pulled it along following Kaida, "Thank you Lady Kaida!" she chirped up after she caught up with the lycan woman. As they walked she looked up at the woman, "So this is your first time actually meeting Sir Saoul? I wonder if he's how I imagine him to be," she said as she pictures a large burly red headed man with scars and a thick beard and ash on his face. "Lady Kaida how come you're a black smith? Did you always wanna be one? How did you know you wanted to be one? How'd you get into it? Was it because of your parents? I'm curious," she asked as small barrage of questions for the woman as they walked not wanting to walk in silence and also just being a very curious girl.

((I'm imagining they'll arrive at Saoul's the end of Qaida's next post so feel free to just assume Nanami walks in with her after tying her horse up Qaida))

Island of Shiori

Aria's heart sank as she clung to him, "No you'll wither away here and eventually be taken in, I know it, I'd rather risk my safety with you and without you and either way your brothers want me dead and you know it," she said softly into his chest before looking up at him with her large blue eyes that shone like a night sky, "Please leave with me the next time I go, you'd be much happier and you know it, I need you with me Blitz," she said as her hands came up to cup his cheeks and her thumbs stroked them gently as she looked at him. "Wouldn't you rather return to the mainland where you can have a job, and do something, I know nothing will be the same for you but it will be better than wasting away here day after day. There's lots of climbing and patrolling to be done in Longbourn, I could try to get you stations on night guard or something," she added trying to make him reconsider.

Netherfield

Benjamin was writing something down at his desk when a guard came in saying Christos wanted to see him. He sighed aggravated and waved the guard off before putting the paper in his desk and locking it. He got up and left his room and walked to the armory to see Christos scaring another guard who looked like he was ready to collapse from nerves but stayed unmoving. He pitied the guard slightly and raised his hand at him before waving it once, "Leave us," he said and the guard bowed and left. He looked at Christos inquisitively, "You called for me brother?" he asked as he meet Christos' gaze. His body language was stressed as usual since Bltiz's banishing, he made no attempt to hide his anger over it as he usually would try to do, he was angry at himself for not figuring it out and handling it before Christos found out, angry at Blitz for being so weak, angry at Aria for being a corrupting temptress, and angry at the world for challenging the laws of the land with their relationships. The day Blitz was banished he'd even gone so far as to go in a rage and change and hunt down and kill some of the closer law breaking couples.

Kaida couldn't help the small smile that formed on her lips as she listened to Nanami's rush of questions. She walked down the street slowly with the girl following her and the horse padding behind.

"Yes, this will be the first time I've officially met him. I've seen him in passing only, but never talked to him."

The next set of questions was a little more personal. Kaida ignored the crushing rage that filled her as she thought about her father and how he'd been taken away from her. She was determined to figure out where he was and get him back.

"I've always been interested in blacksmithing, and yes, I've always been one. I made my first dagger when I was very small. My father took me in as his apprentice and taught me everything I know. Since then I've practiced the craft every day. Many people ask me to do things for them, whether its weapons or armor. I do what I can to help my people. Its a passion, not just a craft."

She purposely left out the part of her father being arrested. She wasn't inclined to talk much about it to the girl that she'd just met. Kaida had tried to keep the clip in her voice at bay, and could only hope that the girl hadn't picked up on her unease. She'd never talked to anyone about her father, nor about what had happened that day. Kaida kept walking forward, waiting for more questions to answer. They soon came upon Saoul's shop, and Kaida slowed her pace, letting Nanami tie up her horse before going to the shop.

The loud sound of something crashing in the shop halted Kaida's steps completely. Her immediate reaction had her hand out behind her to keep the smaller Nanami from going any farther. Her other hand drew out her knife from her hip and she quickly lunged inside the shop. Upon seeing the young man seated upon a barrel and no one else inside, she felt slightly embarrassed. Slowly, she put away her blade and looked out to where Nanami stood watching with wide eyes. Kaida motioned that it was alright for her to come inside.

"Please, forgive my barging inside. From what I heard I'd thought there was a fight happening," Kaida said softly to Saoul. She looked down at him. Having only seen him in passing, she'd never gotten a good look at the man before. His silver eyes watched her, but she couldn't tell what he was thinking. His long hair fell around his shoulders, some of it in his eyes. After a moment, she realized she was staring and quickly looked away. Kaida crossed her arms over her chest and glared at the ground.

"I'm Kaida, this young woman asked me to bring her to you."

Thorton Lacey

Her hand rested easily against the stone wall that she stood atop of. The other hand held the pommel of her sword that was sheathed at her hip. Sharp blue eyes swept the area outside of the city. She wore the traditional armor of the city guard, light leather with the cities emblem on it. The wind took hold of her blue locks, tossing them in her face. She ignored the irritating wisps of hair. The day had started off with no problems, nothing alerted her of anything out of the ordinary. In fact her shift was soon to be over.

However, as she stood there, her replacement guard making his way towards her, there was a sound of hooves pounding through the city down below. Turning, Velyssira leaned over the other side of the wall and watched as two horses rushed headlong through the opened gate. The shape shifter switched sides to watch the two as they streaked out into the open. Her eyes narrowed and her jaw clenched as she recognized who they were. Taking two steps back, she then rushed the wall. Leaping up onto the stone, she threw herself off the edge. She could hear the other guard shouting in shock as she went.

Halfway down her fall, she let her body take on the form of a white falcon. The shift didn't take too long, but even so, she was fairly close to the ground before she finished the transformation. Velyssira's wings beat hard, pushing herself to her very limits. She shot off after the two horses, determination fueling her. She wanted to know what was going on. Before long she'd caught up to the horses and leveled herself with the head of the one that bore the shifter prince. She landed on the pommel of the saddle and cocked her white head to the side to look up at him.

"My Lord," she asked, her voice vibrating through the little birds form, "What has happened?"

Kraven's Crossing

Stephen Westwood

"The day young, the birds sing. Where mighty heroes go, swords swing," murmured Stephen as he looked around. The humans who had agreed to give him a ride in their cart, at Netherfield, at had left him the gate. It had been a long, long ride and Stephen was not amused. The cart's squeaky wheels and the super hyperactive children in the cart had destroyed his patience, his eardrums and quite possibly, his sanity. Screw those kid. I won't travel with those pesky buggers again. He spat on the ground.

People milled about, doing what Stephen hated most, actual work. Children increased Stephen's blood pressure by running rings around him. He looked at them evilly but they just laughed and insulting him, ran away. Oh, how he hated kids. But the artist in him stirred. He remember a jingle his Ogre friend had made: Work, work, all days. At night, I plays. The grammar was off but an Ogre made it. How could he hate it?

Stephen walked into the trade district. Kraven's Crossing was just another place. It had stayed free enough from the rule of the werewolves ancients. Stephen disliked the ancients very much. Not that he would publicly announce this hatred, he was only partially insane, but one day he hoped the masses would rise against them. Then he could sing all the song he kept in a cage inside him.

"Kid, are you just going to stare at people or buy something?" asked the shop owner in front of whose shop Stephen was procrastinating. Stephen apologized and bought, well, nothing. He had no money. His stomach grumbled. Sheesh.[/]

A faerie walked past him, or glided beautifully. She had one look at Stephen and decided he was but a lonely man, a lonely starving man. "I have some food if you want," she said as she walked ahead. Of course faeries communicated in a different way. They projected their messages into the brains of people. Stephen did find that a little creepy, but hey! Food.

As they walked out of the market area Stephen looked back at the kid who had bumped into him. [i]Nice try, pickpocket.
He smiled. Being broke had its perks. He looked at his host. She looked stunningly beautiful in her silken clothes. And of course Stephen wanted to be with her always.

The house was a small brick structure near an old tree some distance away from all the commotion. Stephen ate quietly, or slowly, enjoying the food and the awkward look on his feeder's face. "Thank you," he said quietly. She seemed happier and more relaxed now, though her posture was still defensive. Yes, I'm totally a serial killer.

"Did I look that famished?" Stephen asked and the faerie nodded. He laughed, and looked at her; she was smiling too. Her name was Angelica, which told him nothing about her. How many faeries had been given the Angelica? Almost every single, if Stephen remembered correctly. If that was the only name people could think of when describing a faerie, then they were a bunch of racists. But then again, he too would have named her Angelica. But he was different.

Stephen thanked the faerie before he left. He also gave her a slip of paper with a small poem written on it. She read it and had smiled. Oh man, why am I leaving? Having traveled the world, he had wooed many ladies and unknowingly some men. But he had a job, a quest. A quest whose quest giver was dead and whose value was null. But that didn't mean he would stop traveling the world. The quest gave him a purpose.

Stephen reached a gate. He looked back at the town he was leaving. This town had no life. It was just, there. Stephen may very well come back, when he'd be older, and settle down here. But right now he didn't want to stay here a bit. He wondered were his lunacy would take him next. Ahead of him a young maiden stood waiting.

Blonde haired, she wore a blue blouse and white skirt. She was colorful. He liked colorful. Before he could approach her a behemoth walked before her. Now, now Stephen. You shouldn't insult your father-in-law. Your future colorful wife will not be happy, he thought smiling. Well he did look like her father. A massive man, he was heading out of town it seems. Or the girl had come home from a dangerous mission. Nah, unlikely.

The maiden latched on her father. Stephen did not hear what they were saying. It was none of his concern. He just waited to see what happened. For a moment the crowds went numb, though they restarted their commotion soon enough. As the man left his daughter he approached him. "Separation is always painful. It's the fallacy of all beings. May you return to your daughter safely. Where are you going, if I may ask?"

Kraven's Crossing

Calahad Rojo

Calahad was just about to leave his stand-still, ready to leave his hometown behind. His first step strode forth, taking his breath with him. But just as his second step was to take flight, he heard voice behind him, inquiring him in the airiest of tones.

"Separation is always painful. It's the fallacy of all beings. May you return to your daughter safely. Where are you going, if I may ask?"

The tone of the man was - soft. Almost sultry, like the whispering of a defiant thief, yet soothing, like a consoling parent. Smooth. It wasn't had to place the voice in the throat of an elf. The lumbering man would turn around, raising an eyebrow at his inquisition-er. "Aye - parting to which I shant forget soon. My mind shall linger on this place for many nights." He admitted, looking down upon his elven guest. "And nay - though Keile is not my daughter, she is but the size, hm?" He said with a chortle. Calahad had to acknowledge that he towered over his wife - making her look like a child.

He let out a bright chuckle yet again.

The broad human smiled lightly down on the elf, propping a hand upon his own hip. "Greetings, my friend. I'm Calahad Rojo, Champion of Vediore. And I stride North - I seek out the kingdom of Netherfield, and I seek council with their king." He said, adding spite to the voice of the last words. He hated to think of these creatures as civil, but at the same time, he could not pass judgement. For all he knew, they could have been! "I am going to travel to the North, until I hit the trade road connecting Longbourne and Thorton Lacey. From there, I shall proceed using the trade routes. I expect to be there within a few weeks time, perhaps sooner, if I can find someone with a steed for sale along the way." He confessed to the elf. He hardly knew the elf - yet he had just given him his entire plan. He must've been quite confident in his lack of secrecy.

"And who might you be, friend?" He said looking over the elf again.

Saoul looked up at the woman who practically pounced into his shop, a smaller creature behind her. His eye was still burning as he sat there, huffing in anger. His eyes carefully studied the lycan woman. She was the other blacksmith in town -- Kaida, he believed. He had reason to envy her, particularly since she was a woman doing a man's job better than a man himself. His eyes traveled her body and liked what he saw, though neither his eyes nor his expression let on what he was thinking. As she looked away, his attention shifted to the smaller creature. Surely she wasn't a lycan, she was much too small...and cute. It was odd. She had a childish air about her that made him find innocence lying plainly in her eyes.

After a moment's hesitation, Saoul stood up. "What can I help you with?" he asked. He didn't often speak, but that was a phrase he used a lot and felt quite confident in saying. He put the cooling metal aside on the work bench and went to pick up his hammer across the room. The wall had suffered a noticeable mark, but it was fine otherwise. Just what he needed...to topple the workshop from the inside, he thought. As he placed the hammer down as well, he grabbed a dirtied rag and wiped his face and hands, both of which were very dirty with grime and sweat. As he waited and listened even to the women, he went about cleaning up the shop, refilling the water bucket with cold water and pushing his hair up and out of his face. It was too damn hot, especially after he'd burned himself.

Island of Shiori

Blitz sighed as he listened to Aria. He hated how much her soft, beautiful voice could drive him crazy. It made him want to do everything she said, even if it wasn't the right thing. His hands gently came up to rest on her hands before pulling them down, holding them firmly. His hands were much larger than hers and certainly not as soft, but the sensation of the two coming together was incredible.

"Aria..." he said softly, almost in a whine. She was convincing him and he couldn't fight it. "I'm an outcast...even here on this deserted piece of land. Why would it be any different with your people? After all the suppression I've helped employ?" One of his hands let go of hers and cupped her small, delicate cheek. "Why do you want to endanger yourself?" he asked, actually finding it quite attractive that she was so rebellious.

Netherfield

Christos growled and threw another knife at a different guard as Benjamin walked in. "Oh, brother," he mused as he rubbed his hands together as if wiping dirt from them. "So what are we to do?" he demanded. As he waited, he saw the look in Benjamin's eyes and turned with an exasperated sigh.

"Oh, come, come. Father would have done the same thing. He broke the law and tradition. I had no choice. Besides...maybe it will give him time to think about what he's done," he muttered. He wasn't happy that he'd exiled Blitz, but he'd had to. Quite frankly, he still saw it as the right decision. Blitz was a fool and he deserved the consequences of his actions.

Kraven's Crossing

Stephen Westwood

The giant man turned around and looked down at Stephen. Though Stephen hated people looking down at him, he could excuse this man. After all, Stephen had no interest in getting beaten to a pulp. He studied the man. He had long saffron hair without a trace of grey, amazing considering how old the man. Stephen was in his twenties, eight in human years, and already he had seen at least one rascal grey hair.

The man's face showed signs of a troubled life; a life spent fighting in battles. Either that or the local bar have more muscular men like him. Not a great thought for Stephen. He still had some Elf pride left in him, unfortunately. He liked the fact that he was taller than most human. But if this town had many hulking men, fighting in bars, Stephen'd never get a woman here. Dammit!

"Aye - parting to which I shant forget soon. My mind shall linger on this place for many nights. And nay - though Keile is not my daughter, she is but the size, hm?" Of course Keile wasn't his daughter. Stephen looked at the sky; at the gods who always screwed him over. If Stephen ever wrote a letter to god it would have only four words: Dear God, screw you.

Stephen looked at Keile again who was still there. No Keile, I'm not stopping him. In fact, it's just the opposite. The big man chuckled and spoke again, "Greetings, my friend. I'm Calahad Rojo, Champion of Vediore. And I stride North - I seek out the kingdom of Netherfield, and I seek council with their king."

Stephen was surprised. And intrigued. He had heard much about the human empire, Vediore. He also had heard about the Champion of Vediore and what human bards sang of him. A monster on the prowl, he will destroy you. Every enemy he meets, he rips them in two. Stephen smiled slightly. Whenever he told this story, all patrons agreed on one thing; humans should stay off poetry.

Calahad then proceeded to tell Stephen how he planning to get to Netherfield. A steed for sale? I don't think any steed would want to be sold off to you. Except probably those big ones that carry Ogres. Stephen remembered the last time he'd seen one of those monster horses, outside of his night-mares. 'Stallion' that horse's name was. I'm gonna anywhere near those buggers again, he thought as remembered the kick in face he had nearly received from Stallion.

"And who might you be, friend?" Calahad said looking over the elf again.

"I'm Stephen Westwood, Champion of nothing. I too am going North," said Stephen. Truth be told, he was planning to go the other way with the family he had come here. But what better story to tell than of a man who wishes to meet the devil on his own volition? Also, screw those pesky kids. "If you are interested, we could travel together," Stephen offered.

My Lord,what has happen?
The voice was familiar, but it still took him awhile to connect it with the guard.Lucian did not know exactly how to answer this,if only he had more time... He decided that it would be best for everyone if he just outright told Velyssira,he got off the horse and went closer to the shifted guard."Do not alert anyone else for the time being, except the other guards," he disclosed in a subtle voice,"but my little sister is missing and it is very certain she did not leave of her own accord.Whoever took her a very good shifter who was able to turn into a rather large wolf and somehow managed to get into the castle-",he suddenly realized something as his eyes widened."...Unless they already had access to it."

Mentally,he ran through the possible reasons.Blackmail?,The werewolves have all they want and we are on good terms with the other races. Ransom? Always possible, especially if it turns out to be one of the castle workers...But how would they be able think they could pull off such a heist and get away? Distraction? Yes,actually quite possible,if Mother and Father find out they wouldn't be able to constraint on any political endeavor including their meeting.

The young man realized that he needed to focus on getting her back rather than why it happened."She has long brown hair and is fair skin and about six years of age and is 3'5."

Velyssira listened intently to everything that her Lord told her. He spoke quickly, but clearly. His first order was for her to keep silent on what was going on. Perhaps she had been the only one who had noticed the sudden commotion. Her falcon eyes narrowed slightly to show her own concern and irritation at the situation. The night shift had been hers.

"My Lord, please forgive me. The night shift was mine. I accept any punishment you see fitting for my allowing this to happen," she fluttered her wings in agitation, "I will help you find your sister."

The shifter took off from the saddle, shooting straight up into the sky. She pushed her wings to fly faster, her head cocked off to one side so her eye could inspect the ground beneath her. She changed her direction to fly back to the castle where she circled around the living area of the royal family. Her eyes sharpened as best she could in order to spot the footprints that Lord Lucian had told her about. She caught sight of the footprints leading away from the castle in large strides. Velyssira didn't like the look of them at all. Her heart clenched. Lord Lucian had said something about the possibility of the culprit being someone who already had access to the palace and the rooms.

She mentally shook herself, needing to concentrate on the task at hand. However, she still berated herself for missing something so essential. Diving, she followed the tracks, lowering herself to the ground and flying quickly over the trail. Her eyes followed them as best she could. Her wings were beginning to tire as she'd flown quite a ways away from the castle. Still on the trail she knew she couldn't stay in the form of the falcon for much longer. She slowed her body and began shifting back to her human form. It hurt to get back into human form having been in the falcon one for quite a while.

Velyssira didn't waste any time and continued on foot following the trail. She went through thin trees, up a hill and stopped at the ridge. The trail continued on down the other side of the hill. She knelt down, her eyes narrowing as she looked into the small village where she was sure the tracks continued on. There was only a handful of houses down below her. The girl couldn't be too far. Velyssira sat a while longer. She couldn't shift into any other form at that moment, but she couldn't just sit and do nothing either. She had two choices. Go into the town herself and find the Lord's sister, or go back and find the Lord to tell him what she'd found.

After a moment she stood. Finding the girl was priority. Who knew what would happen to her if she was gone too long. Velyssira started down the hill.

Nanami followed Kaida and smiled at her answers clearly not picking up on the subtle tones of her voice that she was upset. Soon they were at a smithery and heard a loud crash. Kaida motioned for Nanami to wait outside so she did until it was safe. She walked in and looked around before sheepishly scurrying over to Kaida. She took the room in before looking to Saoul. He was nothing like she imagined, young, not really burly, and quite handsome, but that made him scary to her, she'd hoped for a jolly red giant. She hated her job at this moment and as he asked what they needed she scurried out of the shop and got a small pink and white box off the horse, one the top of the box was her bakery's logo. She walked back in and up to Saoul, "Uh.... on behalf of the 'Fairy Dust Bakery' I have been asked to cater a small party for you tonight in celebration of your birthday and am here to say," as she spoke she opened the box and took out a small simple individual sized cake that was chocolate with white icing and inside was cream between the layers on it and black icing was written "Happy Birthday You Old Dog!" "SURPRISE!" she said hesitantly before shoving the cake in his face which was what her teacher had told her to do. She stood there watching some of the bits of cake fall from his face waiting for a reaction and praying it was a nice on but ready to hide behind Kaida if needed.

Island of Shiori

Aria smiled up at Blitz and let him hold her hands and as he cupped her cheek she nuzzled into it. "It's true you have done bad things to people in that past, But only because you did nothing to stop it, Christos is the one who pulls the lever on everything," she said softly, "Some people are willing to give you a chance, you should squander it just because you're afraid that you'll fail them or put me in danger. The winds are changing and something is coming, if the world changes, for better or worse, I want you to be with me for it, not hiding away on some island in shame that you shouldn't feel in the first place," she said softly as she leaned up and kissed his forehead before tugging his arms, "Come with me, right now, we can take the ferry and leave this very instant," she said trying to tug him along.

Netherfield

"He may be a fool for falling for it but it's that damn elf maiden's fault she bewitched him with drugs, she must have there is no way Blitz would just choose her over all the werewolf women that throw themselves at him," he said with no real tone in his voice as he concealed just how truly angry he was. He paced a small bit before heading over to Christos' side and looking at him. "I will not lose my little brother to that witch," he said coldly, "We've lost too much of our family already," he added before taking a knife from Christos and throwing it and the knife split the bow they'd taken from Aria while she was prisoner in two. "I'm going to redeem him and get him back here, and I'm going to make that wench pay," he added. Christos was normally the calm and collected and kindest of the three ancients but it was obvious that he had a vendetta now.

Kaida's eyebrow rose as she watched Nanami attack Saoul with the cake that she held in her hand. After a moment, looking between Saoul's face and that on Nanami's she couldn't help but smile. A soft laugh escaped her before it became uncontrollable. Of course it only lasted for a moment before she composed herself and stood with one hand over her mouth to cover her smile. The look on Nanami's face was most hilarious as the girl wasn't entirely sure what to do next after shoving the cake at Saoul. Kaida tried hard to keep her laughter under control.

The lycan looked startled, but she wasn't sure how long that was going to last, so she moved next to Nanami and put a hand on the girls shoulder. With one hand on her hip next to her weapon she gazed at Saoul. He was quite attractive, even if he did have the sugary substance on his face. Reaching over she took a bit of the frosting from his cheek with her finger and put it in her mouth. Kaida looked down to Nanami, gave a hum of pleasure at the taste and then walked over to an empty bucket.

"I'll get you some water to wash with. Try not to eat the girl, I'd like to keep her around," Kaida said softly before leaving the shop to get water.

Thorton Lacey

Velyssira moved swiftly down the slope into the town beyond. The footprints were fading away, getting mixed in with that of the people's in town. The shape shifter glowered at the ground as she tried to make out the wolf prints. No matter what she did, though, she couldn't pick out the trail. She'd lost it, and that thought alone was enough to put her in a very sour mood. Glaring at anyone that dared to look at her, she walked through the small town in search of the girl, hoping that she'd gotten away from her captor.

She had run through every alley and shop that she could find, and still she didn't see anything. Finally she resorted to asking the villagers if they had seen anything or heard anything peculiar during the night. She was making good progress with that approach, some villagers reported hearing 'something' moving through the village. However, they couldn't exactly tell her what it was they heard. No one saw the beast either. Frustration fueled her as she entered another shop. She moved to the man behind the table.

"Did you see or hear anything strange last night?" She demanded, her patience worn thin.

"No I didn't, so leave," the man replied in kind.

Velyssira noted the hesitation in his voice, the lie slipping between his teeth was too obvious for her to ignore. She gave a growl of rage, drew her dagger and reached across the table to grab the man by his throat.

"You realize who you're speaking to, don't you? Tell me, or I'll have your head brought to the Prince."

"I didn't see anything!" He stuttered out.

"Who are you protecting? You saw something, didn't you? Speak!" She gave him a hard shake, her cold blade pressed harder into his skin.

"It looked like a wolf! A big one, it was too dark to tell exactly what it was. It moved fast too, it didn't stop, please... let me go," he wined at her.

"Which direction was it heading?"

All she got from him was a shaking finger pointing in the direction that led out of town and towards Pemberly.

The elf spoke, his words soft and pronounced. He seemed like he was lingering; perhaps hesitant to go into the town. Yet, Calahad said nothing as he smiled down on the elf. It almost took him by surprise as the elven man suggested that they travel together. He didn't hesitate for a second.

"I'd gladly have you travel alongside me, Stephen Westwood!" He prosed with a broad nod. "I may not be clueless, but I know not what perils lie ahead of me. Nor do I know the terrain that I will traverse. It will benefit me to have someone whom knows more about the land and it's people than I!" He said, with another affirming nod. The champion had not yet had much time to learn much about the geography of the land he almost blindly marched towards.... So the words he spoke were indeed true.

But as the Human stepped forward, out into the world, he began to take in the elf's appearance. "You not look an archer, like many of your kin.... You lack arrows, or bolts. Yet you do have an instrument - and if I were a smart man, I would place my gold on a minstrel. Art thou a travelling storyteller? A music player of sorts?" He asked out of curiosity, his brows raising as he walked, his armor clattering softly with each step, his blade strapped tightly to his back. He tried to keep his mind off of the travel.... for with the parting of his beloved... this trip would drag on... and on...

Blitz sighed silently and stayed put when the smaller, much weaker Aria tried to tug him along with her. He pulled her back into him quickly and pinned her against the wall of the small shack, his hands on either side of her face. He loved the slight look of shock that would most likely come over her face, but even more, he loved how much it turned him on. As he pinned her there, their bodies only inches apart, Blitz smiled a bit. He'd missed this.

"Aria," he said softly. "...This isn't right." It was a soft protest, showing her she'd won. He leaned down and kissed her deeply before whispering against her lips, "Let's go then." He turned away silently and began to gather his few possessions before walking to the door and waiting for her.

Netherfield

Christos growled and slammed his dagger down into the table as he listened to his brother. He stopped and looked up smiling a bit. "Of course...Blitz was always stupid, but never that stupid. That....witch must have poisoned her." He went over to Benjamin and grabbed his shoulder firmly, his fingers digging into the man's tough skin. "You always had a level head...." he said as if basking in triumph over a new idea.

Pemberly

Saoul was quiet as he watched the girl, her pink hair bouncing around her as she moved. He was confused, but when he heard the word birthday, he perked up. No one had ever recognized this day as his and now this girl, who he didn't even know, was telling him something about his birthday. He saw her take out a box and wondered if it would be his first present...what he wasn't expecting was the sudden smashing of cake in his face. Saoul's eyes squeezed shut and he tensed, but didn't move as some bits of the fluffy cake fell from his face. He was confused...He thought this girl was going to tell him happy birthday, but instead the first cake he'd ever been offered had been shoved in his face. It made him sad for a brief second until he realised he shouldn't have expected anything different. He stayed silent as Kaida took some of the cake from his face and went to get water.

For a few short moments, he stood there in silence as the sweet treat stuck to his grimy, dirty face. "Thank you," he said softly, his voice low and flat before he reached over to grab the dirty rag to wipe his face off. He wasn't mad; he couldn't be when really this was the best birthday he'd had....even though it wasn't that great at all.

Stephen looked at the man who was delighted to travel with him. He was totally unprepared for this ride, much like Stephen. How were they going to even get to the kingdom to the wolves? And worse yet, what were going to do there? Surely not meet the king? That would like asking to meet god. And we all know how often god responded.

And why did he even want meet the king. Maybe in all that fighting, he was injured. He tried to look up at his head, but the man was much taller. Hmph. Giants... A gentle breeze was blowing. Even though the heat was uncomfortable for the bard, he liked how the wind combined with the sweat to cool him down. If Calahad wasn't bonkers, then what? Stephen remembered the last time he was in that place. It looked nice on the inside, but looking at the people revealed that was rotting from inside. Such cruel fates. Whatever happened the gentle king that ruled a thousand years ago?

"Nor do I know the terrain that I will traverse. It will benefit me to have someone whom knows more about the land and it's people than I!" the giant said. Yes, Stephen knew much about these lands. They would have to steer clear of the Askai clan. Those buggers loved human meat. Even though he looked more like a human, "You are an elf. You don't smell like a human. So we will not eat you," the old man had said. Stephen wondered what human meat would taste like. Chicken meat tasted nice and humans did look like deformed chicken. The resemblance was especially noticeable when humans did the chicken dance.

"What do you tast- I mean what do you want to go there for? They are treacherous people. If they feel you are an enemy, they will destroy everyone who knew you," he said and looked behind the large man. The woman, or kid, had gone; mingled into the crowd. "I don't think your partner is safe here. But then again, you are a champion. I'm sure you have thought of that," he said and smiled.

They began walking. Because the man's feet were much longer than his, Stephen had to half-jog. At this rate, he would tire soon. "You not look an archer, like many of your kin.... You lack arrows, or bolts. Yet you do have an instrument - and if I were a smart man, I would place my gold on a minstrel. Art thou a travelling storyteller? A music player of sorts?," the man, Calahad, spoke abruptly.

Stephen smiled, "My kind. I'm not sure anyone is looks like me. Half-man, half-elf, half-insane. Ah! But yes, most elves do like to use the classic bow and arrows. Which, when one thinks about, is stupid. Elves are so much stealthier than any other creature. Why waste that ability and learn a new one?," he asked Calahad.

Stephen looked at the instrument. "This is not mine. I exchanged it as a part of a bet. So how do you plan to get the horses? I know a horse breeder a day's travel away, though it is a little off track. Also, I'm too poor. Maybe he recognizes you? He is a human too. I guess we will find out soon enough."

Calahad nodded at the half-elf, his eyes closing with a 'Hmm'.

"What do you tast- I mean what do you want to go there for? They are treacherous people. If they feel you are an enemy, they will destroy everyone who knew you. I don't think your partner is safe here. But then again, you are a champion. I'm sure you have thought of that." lurked forward the sweet, charming voice of the elves.

The statement made the lumbering human to stop in his tracks, pressing his gloved hand to his broad chin. "I was fearful of that. Perhaps, I wished to deny it, but in my heart, I knew that was most likely the situation..." He said, with a half-sigh, half-groan. "Nevertheless, t'is my duty to my kingdom - my people. I feel the fire in my chest, needing to fulfill this duty: No matter how dangerous, or how haphazardly I proceed, I must not falter. Truly, I had hoped that this not the case. However, seeing how it is, it is most likely...." He stopped, opening his eyes, looking up into the tree limbs above him, sheltering the pair from direct sunlight. "Most likely that I go to my grave - a tongue-shriller that all the music calls me. But I lived happily. I can die with honor, and pass flawlessly into the afterlife." He stated with a nod, before looking down onto the elf. He'd not mention his one regret- leaving Keile.

"And as for Keile... I am solemnly aware of that. Yet, which shall I do? Take her with me into the blaze, or let it creep towards her?" he said, his gaze gloaming to the ground. "What say you, Stephen? What is your oppinion upon that matter? Shall we go back, and let her join us? Would she be safer where I myself could protect her?" He asked, looking questioningly at the half-elf. He was really waiting to speak about this topic, before saying anything more...

Kaida returned to the shop with the water. She set it down next to Saoul who had wiped his face, but had only managed to make the mess... messier. She smiled up at him before she got up and went to lean against the wall of his shop. She rested one hand on the hilt of her sword. Kaida wondered how old the lycan was, he looked young, but she too looked young and she had lived for quite some time.

"How old are you, Saoul? And happy birthday," she said softly after reaching up and brushing some silky strands of her hair from her face. It felt nice to speak to someone who shared her craft. In fact, she hadn't really spoken to anyone since the loss of her father. Talking to the attractive looking lycan was... calming.

Longbourne

Durion was back in his house, waxing the string of his bow when the commotion started. It wasn't loud, but there were whispers from the other elves, someone had entered the forests of Longbourne and they were unsure of the persons intentions. He finished his bowstring quickly and then strapped on the quiver to his back. Once outside he made his way towards the edge of the city to see what was going on.

In a matter of moments, a silver fox came trotting into the city. As Durion watched, the fox blurred, the form seemed to disintegrate before reconstructing and blurring back into view. The woman stood there watching the elves as they watched her. Deep blue hair flicked across her face and shoulders from the soft breeze that shifted through the city. Her bright eyes narrowed in on Durion. He wasn't sure he liked the look on her face.

"Do you need help?" one of the elves called.

Her gaze shot to the man then back to Durion, she never answered his question, instead she imposed her own, "I'm here on behalf of Prince Lucian. I seek his sister and I have been led here. Where is she?"

There was an underlying threat to her tone that didn't sit well with Durion. He watched her warily, moving his bow in front of himself, preparing to knock an arrow and fire if needed. The woman noticed his movement and she bent down into a defensive position. Her lips pulled back, showing the sharpened teeth of a shape shifter. This isn't good...

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

We will be waiting for the "We're sorry" cookies.

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Hey, guys! Sorry Kappuke-Ki-Chu and I have been absent awhile. I recently started a very physically demanding job and it takes up a lot of my time and energy, plus it's a 7 day a week job pretty much. Anyway, I just wanted to apologize for my spotty GM-ing, as well as posting. As for Kappuke-Ki-Chu, her computer is now broken. It won't be fixed until next week at the earliest, so she also will be absent for a bit longer. I, however, will do my best to post accordingly, although most of my characters are stagnant without hers interacting as well. All this to say that I -- we are truly sorry for our absence. It might be a little longer, but things will start to fall into place shortly. Once Kappuke's computer is back up and running, I will let you know and our regular posting should resume. Until then, I will monitor the progress of the story line and perform normal GM duties as needed. Thank you for your participation and understanding. :)

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Yay back from my trip!! I'll have a post up before the end of the night! Oh, and I know what I'll do to get Durion in on the growing action ;). Velyssira will follow the tracks out towards Pemberly, but they will turn to Longbourn. There she will meet up with him and things might get... interesting.

If there are any objections to this idea, please let me know! I can shift gears very easily no worries at all.

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Qaida, have fun!

Sorry guys! I know I said I was going to post the other day. I had been driving all day and my head was killing me, so I just let it get away from me. I'll post now before I decide against it again.

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Mistress, just letting you know that I'll be out camping until Tuesday (19th). I'll be back next week and I look forward to continuing on with this RP. :) If you need my characters, feel free to use them, I don't mind at all. Thanks!

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

I was kind of waiting for other people to make posts, but seeing how it's... kind of gone.... quiet, I believe I will post!

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

I'm home!

Qaida, not a problem at all.

TheFinalOne, understood. No worries :)

As for the migraine, no I hope I don't get one. I have a headache -- long drive and all -- but that's about it. I'll post up here in a little bit.

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Urgh my migraine is gone and I liiivvveeee. Missy will be home in a couple hours and I'll make sure she gets one for you guys.

I hope you are not talking about getting us a migraine. I surely don't want no migraine. Also, I'ma stuck till Vio posts; that's why I haven't posted.

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Urgh my migraine is gone and I liiivvveeee. Missy will be home in a couple hours and I'll make sure she gets one for you guys. I had her all day yesterday so we didn't get on.

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Alrighty then! Looks like Velyssira is going into town, and my apologies Mistress, did not realize you were waiting for me to post otherwise I would have done it much sooner! :)

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Shaodow, no problem. I will be unavailable tomorrow anyway, so it's fine.

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Don't think I've forgotten about this rp, I'll be posting some day soon

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Sounds like a good idea to me. Flesh it out and I'll see if I can help -- after all, seems like they're blaming the Ancients.

Also, Kappuke and I are waiting for other people to post. Qaida, I am mainly waiting on Kaida's post so I can continue with Saoul.

Just a heads up, Kappuke-Ki-Chu and I will be busy most of Saturday as it stands now. We may get on, I don't know yet, so if you don't hear from us, just know we are still here, just busy.

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Hey Vio, if you post today I will not be able to reply until tomorrow. Sorry.

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

She can go into the village,it's fine.

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Hmmm that sounds very interesting FinalOne :) Who wants to be framed? *mauahahaha* I don't mind if one of my characters are framed. (That would definitely make things interesting!)

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

If we frame Emily's kidnapping on one of the player characters... a ploy by one player character against another...

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Utahann, is it alright for Velyssira to go into that village she saw? Or do I need to change anything about that? Let me know! :D I look forward to seeing how this one will play out! Very exciting.

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

Utahann, I was thinking the same thing. I didn't know if you had planned that out already. What were you thinking about doing with it?

Re: Rebellion: Rebirth

I wonder if we could tie in Emily's kidnapping in with the rest of the story
