"Fool Girl!" Her mother shouting, her voice shaking the leaves of the hamadryad trees, that made up the throne room of the Day Queen, canopying the room just so that the sun would bask the Queen in sunlight and whoever was unfortunate enough to be where Anansi knelled now.
Image

The Day Queen as she glared at her daughter, from her high golden throne. "Do you have any idea the things these mortals are capable of?"
Anansi was silent. Her mind having wandered to the young mortal with the grey eyes, how he stared at her in wonder, called her beautiful. That was his first time seeing the so called enemy as well.

"Are you listening to me, child?" Anansi looked up, snapping back to her present situation. "Away with the pixies, as usual." The Day Queen huffed and Anansi looked at her knees. "I was-- I was following the sounds..." She said, not untrue but she knew what was happening, but if she told her mother that, she would probably have a better time with the Elvenslaga.

"I never seen one before....I wanted to see one."

"did you want it to see you, because that what was going to happen next, and you know what would happen then?"

Anansi looked up defiantly. "No, mother I do not, Two of them where Joined Blade."

Her mother rolled her eyes. "Please not this again, Surely they are dead now, only two with an vanguard of Elvenslaga, do you know what that word means?"

"I do, Mother, you do not need to remind me, but the Joined Blade means something too." She said and her mother clicked her teeth.

"Something inconsquential, that's what they mean, we do not want them, we do not need them."

"They tried to stop the Elvenslaga, we do need them." Anansi said and her mother narrowed her eyes. "If we leave them alone, they'll weither and die, just as they've done for centuries." She said dimissively.

"You can't possibly believe that, Sister."
Image

It was then that the Night Queen in all of her dark glory strode in. Her midnight train flowing behind her like the shadows, she lingered in the dark, keeping to her shadows. "What are you doing here, Morrigan." The Day Queen said standing, Anansi in between them.

"I just got word from the front." the Night Queen said, her voice rang like a song. " And?"

"The Day Guard has been destroyed, apparently, done by one mortal man, rumor has it, he was Sighted." She said with a smirk and Anansi's eyes went wide.

"Severyn?"

"The fair one yet lives." She said, looking over to her with a smile. "He was the only one, to send us a message."

"Where is he? I must see him."

"Well, My UnSeelie as retrieving him now, and killing any of the injured."

Anansi's mind when to the young mortal. Her heart raced. "I must go"

"You will not." The Day Queen said. "Oh Let her go, Sister, she needs to see the truth of things, does she not?"

Anansi looked at her aunt. She knew a few things about her aunt. One, she hated the Seelie, all of them, including Anansi herself, and two, she loved to annoy her sister by going completely against whatever she wanted. It was clear that she loved that more then she hated the Seelie.

Normally, Anansi would back down, but not now, not when this was in her favor. "There should be a Seelie there, Mother, she said Severyn is alive, but if we leave it to the UnSeelie, who knows how long that will be." She said, shooting a glare at her aunt, who only smile in response.

"Fine, Go to him, see that he is safe, I will send Seelie as well, but you and I are not finished." She said and Anansi smiled, bowed and dashed off.

----
It didn't take long for Anansi to reach the creek, and follow her footsteps. There was red and silver blood everywhere, the red smelled of copper and the silver of nickel.

It was so quiet now, the UnSeelie hadn't made it here yet, they were slow, compared the spider princess, so she had time to search for---

"Ngghhh." She heard a pained cry and shuffling. She knew whose voice it was. " Severyn!" She called and darted in his direction. She may have gotten to him before her words did. There he was, covered in silver, and his leg, just a mess of flesh and blood. He was on his stomach, pulling himself toward home by his hands. He looked up at her. "P--Princess?" He managed before turning over on his back, with an exhausted gasp.

She dropped to her knees beside him, tears in her eyes. She pulled his head into her lap. "Why---Why are you here?"

"The Night Queen, she told us, the Day Queen and I, the battle it was...."

"The Mortal....he is....He is--"

"Shh, Sighted, we know. Your leg." She told him and he nodded meekly. " I know,"

"If I can find it, then....We can heal you...." She said and he nodded, reaching for her, shimmery red and silver blood smeared from his fingers on to her tawny cheeks. "The UnSeelie are coming..." She said and he nodded again, he was smiling but he wasn't focused on her or anything, his eyes drifted, he was losing so much blood. "The Seelie are right behind them, you'll be alright, just stay awake." She said and clasped his hand and pressed a kiss to his knuckles but it was too late for that, he was breathing, that was all she could hope for at that moment.

"Princess." Ma'thi's deep voice came from behind her. He was a Sidhe, a ghostly Fae who could move nearly as fast as she could.

"Severyn, his leg, " She told him and he nodded and was gone in the wind, searching for the missing limb. It didn't take him long to find it. "If I may, Mi'Lady." he said and Anansi shifted so that he might carry the Elven Guard home.

Anansi stood and took a breath, before it was snatched again by the head of a Fae, on a pike not a little ways away. She walked up to it, and brushed her soft fingers over the poor creature's eyes, still twisted in pain and fear.

She heard a crackling an stood straight, the UnSeelie hadn't arrived yet to deal with injured, she could hear their moans and groans. She scanned for the boy among the dead and injured but he wasn't there.
Image
She couldn't forget his face. Not now, not ever, the way he looked at her, there was no fear.
She wondered along the river's edge, and she heard something. The unmistakable hiss of a kappa and a grunt of a mortal.

That would not be good. From where she was, she could only tell that it was a male and undoubtedly the kappa was trying to trick the mortal into the water.

Fearful that it might be the fiery man from before, she hung back and climbed a tree. "Bow to it." She called to the mortal, if it was it was her mortal, she would explain to him that the leaf shaped plate on the creatures head that was filled with water would spill, these creatures were oddly polite, and it would be compelled to return the bow, thus spilling the water, and being frozen until it dried out and died or, if he wanted to, he could save the kappa and it would be forever in it's debt.

"Bow to it, Quickly now."

So her watch began....
Morrigan sat on her dark throne, watching as the moon began to creep up into the sky, her UnSeelie reveling, gyrating bodies, Dryad Mead and Rum inhibitions abound as they enjoy the night and all it's pleasures.
Image

She would have taken her pick of the countless UnSeelie men and women had her mind not been on the coming war. Rhiannon was weak, but there was no way she could get rid of her without bringing about another Unrest, the mortal world was fragile enough without a massive war between fae.

"Mead, Your Grace?" asked a chiseled faced UnSeelie man, bowing to the floor with a glass sitting atop a platter. She turned her head and waved him off. He set down the tray and looked at her. "A Bed then?" He asked, already preparing to remove his tunic. "

"Shoo." She said, waving him off again and he slunk away. She leaned over in her chair, resting her chin on her hand, musing how to proceed. How would she invade the mortal lands, with only 12 hours....She'd have to destroy the Day Queen, but her daughter would ascend and surely that would start the war.

Then it struck her. Anansi was such a curious little pixie. If she could some how get the little thing on her side, she could perhaps get the girl to convince her mother to move against the mortals, convincing her would be hard, but not impossible.

"Someone find me the Day Princess." she called out in to the crowd and before long the Day Princess stumbled in to the room, clearly having been asleep. There was magic practically dripping from her but Morrigan would worry about that later. Instead, she watched as the girl took in the sights and sounds of the night time revelry.

Image

Anansi was deep in her sleep where she found herself floating out in the Fae Forest. The world around her felt tangible but she wasn't there. She had no physical body, but she could smell the river and feel the wind.

She was being pulled, tugged like a leaf on a current and she found herself in front of....

"Roland?" She spoke. He was greeting her, a small -somewhat dubious- smile. "Can you hear me...."

Just like that it was gone, she was snapped back into her body, a jarring sensation, and she found herself back in her bed, just before she heard a knock at her door. "Princess, The Night Queen requests your presence."

Anansi took a few breaths, shaking off the mild headache being shot back into her body gave her.

What that devil woman wanted, she couldn't begin to guess but during her watch, she dare not test her.

Anansi made her way to the Night Court ball room, the moon shone down onto the floor, infecting everyone with it's hypnotic gaze, fae danced to the haunting music, drink feverishly as if it where mother' milk, and explore one another, bare bodies pressed against every other. One fae woman, approached the princess, her fingers dragging across the small of her back while the Night Queen watched on with amusement. "Stop" Anansi spat, and the fae woman moved on to some one else, who then quickly proceeded to take her, right there, pressed against the wall. Anansi looked away and moved through the crowd.

It was easy to tell that she was Seelie, Anansi's body gave off a soft glow in the night, while the Unseelie danced in the dark, shadows twirling around them even at night.
Image

The Night Queen had her shadows as well, moving about her like a pyre's smoke. "Dearest Niece, Were you sleeping?"
Anansi didn't answer as she approached the foot of the dais she sat upon.

"Of course you were, my little day girl, come sit with me." She said, and Anansi while dubious, stepped up onto the dais and the Night Queen with a wave of the hand, a brownie pulled up a chair for Anansi to which she took a seat.

"Why did you call me here, Aunt?" Anansi said, watching the revelry with a combination of curiosity and disgust.

"Oh my Day Girl, I wanted you to see this,." She said and Anansi looked at her. "Why?"
"You are a curious little one, aren't you?" She said and waved toward the revelry. "You are young, you should be enjoying this, exploring the senses that you were given, the body, the beauty, and you're mother hides you away at night."

"I am Seelie, Aunt."

"That, my dear day girl, is a choice."

"You want me to give up my day?"

"No no, silly day girl, I want you to see there is fun in the night." It was at the moment, the Night Queen's eyes fell on her Luck, and Anansi clasped it in her hand. "Oh, what's that you have there?"

"A gift from a friend?"

"It's not very fine."

"It is still a gift."

"From who?"

"A friend?"

"What friend, the pretty day guard?"

"No."

"Then who, Day girl, tell me."

" I can't."

"Cant?"

"Yes, I can't..."

"Why?"

Anansi could find now words to combat the Night Queen, she was much too old, too clever, skilled with half truths where Anansi was not. "Because, it's a secret..."

"From you're mother."

"Yes,"

"From me."

"Yes."

The Night Queen smiled a wolfish grin. "Oh, was he mortal?"
Anansi swallowed. " I wish to leave." She said and stood but the Night Queen took her hand and sat her down with a thud. "He was mortal, you met him today, on your little outing,Oh you little Nymph." She said and Anansi looked at her, not saying a word. "Come now, Day girl, I won't tell, Mortals are fun little creatures, when they aren't trying to kill us, We've all tasted mortal flesh in one way or another, before the warring, Mortals found themselves here and we partook in such fun. It is how the mortals were gifted with the Sight, be born of Fae and Mortal."
Image
Anansi did not know this. "Fae and Mortal...they..."
"Shared a bed? Most definitely."
Anansi looked at her aunt, her mother would never speak of this, but the Night Queen, she seemed not to care. She thought she knew how she felt about the mortals, but now she wasn't so sure.
"Have you?"
The Night Queen laughed. "Oh yes, I liked the way their lips taste on the very first kiss." She aid and Anansi felt heat rush to her face. The Night Queen grinned. "You've tasted a mortal kiss, haven't you." she asked and Anansi swallowed. It wasn't a kiss, it was a gift, but she could taste his lips, they lingered on her lips when she pulled away. "Where is this mortal now?"

"Gone away...." Anansi said. "Oh, There will be other." She said, and brushed a hand over Anansi's head. "I-I wish to see him again, but I fear I may never." She admitted. "You only gave him a kiss, he'll return, they always do"

Anansi looked at her aunt. She might be night, but perhaps she wasn't so bad....perhaps.

" You are an odd one, aren't you?" Came the voice of the Night Queen, sitting back against the wall, hidden by her shadows. She watched him as he lay back down, trying to sleep. "You could sense me." She said with a laugh like the echo of bat wings.
Image
"I would say what most mortals would do in this situation, but you aren't exactly like most mortals or any mortal, are you?" she asked, all rhetorical, as he stood up, and crouched before him, sniffing the air around him like a cat toying with it's prey. "You have Fae, We all thought yo were a half ling, but no you are much more interesting then that?" She said with a wicked grin. When he moved, she didn't know if it was merely to get comfortable, or out of violence, but she opened her palm and closed her fist, although while her shadows reached out mimicking her hands, tendrils coiled around his neck, and held him still. "You needn't worry, you will not die this day, no, I like you too much already." She said, moved in close, tugging her shadows, pulling him to her, taking a deep breath, sucking in, pulling shadows from his lips to hers, like smoke. "There is such sweet darkness in you," She said, her voice as smooth as a rose's petal, and as wicked as it's thorns as her fingers curled up around his chin. "So young...." She whispered,"So dark, heart as black as pitch...." She said, eyeing him, in a way that would give the look as if she might take him then and there, or shove a blade into his heart. "Why so dark, Young one...?"

"You're an odd one, aren't you?"

Griffin lazily opened his eyes. He made no outward reaction to the suddenly increase in the magical intensity around him. Of course he had been being watched. Foolish to have not assumed that from the start. That almost made him grimace, but he didn't. Instead, he stood up. There was a chance they'd it as a threat, but he wasn't foolish enough to think he could make a move against this presence. He was too weak at the moment to even scratch them.

"I would say what most mortals would do in this situation, but you aren't exactly like most mortals or any mortal, are you?" Rhetorical. Typical. He watched her sniff the air around him, slowly straightening up to view him. A nerve twitched slightly in his jaw at the sudden sense of arousal he felt. As he gazed upon her, thoughts of what he'd do to such a magnificent specimen filled his head. He made no move tendrils of shadow wrapped around his neck. He merely gazed intensely into her eyes as she continued on.

So young.... So dark, heart black as pitch. Why so dark, Young one...?

"You make me hungry." He replied simply staring into her eyes. "You make me want to feast. Your Day friends took my prize from me. I'll need a replacement, before I leave."

"You make me hungry."

To that The Night Queen laughed, his tone was simple, but his eyes. They spoke for him. "You make me want to feast. Your Day Friends took my prize from me. I'll need a replacement, before I leave."
Image

"Don't you know you shouldn't take food from a Fae." she said, as she circled him, as her shadow form walked ahead of her. Her laugh echoing off of the stone walls as though there were more of her; her fingers slid from his shoulder to his back to the opposite shoulder as she went. "You'll never leave." She hissed into his ear before she paused on at his chest, her hand lingering where the heart should be. "I can feel you....I feel as if you and I are bound." She told him. His darkness, like liquid night, she took another breath before reaching with her shadow self, into him and pulling the darkness that swirled within him. "Your darkness and mine..." She looked at him, smiling before throwing her head back, her laughter echoing in his mind, against the walls and through the dark dungeon. "You little devil." She said, He'd consumed more UnSeelie then Seelie, that much was clear but there was more to it then that, something she couldn't quite place. "You've only stolen my darkness....but in doing so, you've bound yourself to me.... you've only a taste of my power where I can control yours." She said, her fingers worked like a marionettes puppet master, pulling on the tithers of his darkness, pulling on the power he'd consumed. Surely he could feel it, squirming within him. " You wish to eat? I will feed you, this I promise you...." She said, before freeing him from her shadows grip and backing away, one foot slowly behind the other. "Show me, show how you do it." It wasn't a request as she raised her arms, her shadows dancing around her like a shroud. "Show me."

"You cannot feed me what I seek, Queen of the Night." Griffin replied, seemingly unbothered with the feel of her reaching inside of him. Twisting his power, pulling at his strings. He seemed as unconcerned as if she were any other Fae. He turned to face her, shaking his head. He offered her a small smile, although it was disingenuous and his eyes were emotionless. He clearly wasn't sane. No mortal in his position, where he could be obliterated or manipulated in an instant, would be this calm.

"Show me, show me how you do it. Show me."

"I have no desire to consume you, Queen of the Night. If you want me to consume, then bring me a pretty little thing. Perhaps one of the Day, they are a rare delicacy." He licked his lips, approaching her and placing a hand on her chest, directly in the middle. He was fearless. "Look in me and find the answer, Queen of the Night. There is nothing I will hide from you in this cell, even if I tried."

Griffin focused hard, his pupils dilating as he fired flashes of his atrocities. Blood dripping, staining the stone floor. The screams of Night and Day alike, their blood upon his lips. More than that, his experiments, his own alchemical concoctions. He didn't give her everything, but he gave her enough to make her interested. A mortal that had delved further than any other. Not attempting to become more Fae-like, but to become something different entirely.

"You cannot control everything that I am, Night. I have nothing to be gained by having what you can ripped from me. Perhaps we could come to an... accord."

"I have no desire to consume you, Queen of the Night. If you want me to consume, then bring me a pretty little thing. Perhaps one of the Day, they are a rare delicacy." He spoke, licking his lips as he stepped close to her, and placed a hand on her chest. ""Look in me and find the answer, Queen of the Night. There is nothing I will hide from you in this cell, even if I tried."

It was then his mind called to hers, playing his darkness behind her eyes. Screams and silver blood. If he were fae, he would make the perfect consort for the Night Queen. He truly was darkness.

"You cannot control everything that I am, Night. I have nothing to be gained by having what you can ripped from me. Perhaps we could come to an...accord."

The Night Queen smiled, taking his hand, leaving it resting on her chest.

"An Accord..." She mused. "Odd, I thought the Evlenslaga, thought us to be demons, creatures of their Devil. Yet, you wasted no time, offering me a truce....You could care less for this war, or their propoganda...." She said, rhetorical again. "You just need an excuse to kill us...." She said and then it occurred to her. What she could use someone like him for.

She needed to take back the land for the mortals, but surely some mortals would survive. The Day Queen was much too corwardly to wipe them all out, but if she lost her foolhardy daughter to one of them...in such a manner as he liked to destroy Fae then that would send her right over the edge. Her grief would be such to destroy the mortals. The Day girl befriended a mortal, Joined Blade most likely, and surely he disliked them. Yes... this could work. ""What are you after, very little is without my power, perhaps if you tell me why you....are the way you are, then we can come to some sort of deal."

"Odd. I thought the Elvenslaga thought us to be demons. Creatures of their Devil. Yet, you wasted no time offering me a truce. You could care less for this war, their propaganda."

Griffin inwardly sneered. His true intentions were beyond anyone's comprehension. However, he wasn't about to reveal any more than he already had. He'd interested her, sparked her manipulative nature. Now he would play along. He smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes. It was obvious he was fairly emotionless for the most part.

"I am the Elfenslaga. The true purpose of it is known only to myself."

What are you after? Very little is without my power, perhaps if you tell why you.. are the way you are, then we can come to sort of a deal."

"I am what I am, simply because I can. You will offer me a deal, because you need me. I can see inside the shadows of your twisted soul, Fae. You want the eradication of humanity. A race I no longer am a part of. I care not. Offer me your deal, and I shall wreck the havoc you seek. And you will grant me what I want in exchange."

The Night Queen laughed. "That much was obvious, Mortal." She said. "I do not need you, you've simply....progressed things...gave me an...idea if you will, so I'll bite." She said, grinned a bright white grin.

"I need the Day Queen to allow the extermination of the humans, and to do so, I would need her feel the mortals are dangerous, what you can do, is find your way into the heart of her young daughter, my niece, a curious little Day girl, befriend her, it shouldn't be hard, make trust you, love you, then....when she's all but given herself to you, heart, body and soul, ready to go against her mother, to be with you....kill her." She said. " The Day Queen's grief would be so great, that she herself may end all of humanity....and in return, I will give you what you want...." She said. "Which is....?"

The corner of Griffin's lips curled upwards. The daugher of the Day Queen. Yes, that was a more than suitable replacement. He smiled inwardly at her previous statement. She needed him more than she was willing to admit, of course. No Queen would ever admit to such a thing. To say he's progressed things, however. Now that was an understatement. He wondered how much she'd picked up from what little he'd let her see.

" The Day Queen's grief would be so great, that she herself may end all of humanity....and in return, I will give you what you want...." She said. "Which is....?"

Griffin considered his next words carefully. He smiled wolfishly, his eyes as always devoid of emotion.

"You. I think that would be fun. And, a bit of you to go on. It could be anything, really, although blood is often best. Oh, and of course... You'll need to get me out of this cell. That isn't really a demand, more of a caveat."

"You."
The Night Queen was rarely surprised, but that surprised her. "I think that would be fun. And, a bit of you to go on. It could be anything, really, although blood is often best. Oh, and of course....You'll need to get me out of this cell. That isn't really a demand, more of a caveat."

"You amuse me, Mortal." She said chuckling, her fingers resting on her chin. "You'll get out of this cell, but I won't be the one to do it. The Day Girl will, if you can convince her." She said. "But, as a show of good faith." She said, chuckling at the irony. "I'll give you a bit of blood." She said, and over a finger to her teeth and pressed, hard, piercing the flesh, causing a bead of silver to bubbling up from beneath the skin. She sauntered over to him. "Here, You can't have all of me, not now, nor after this is done, but I can give a little taste." She said with a grin. "Enjoy."

Griffin offered only a blank expression as he took her hand. He was gentle despite his intentions. The way in which he sucked the blood from her finger could only be justly defined as lewd. As he finished, he offered another wolfish smile. His pupils dilated wildly for a moment, and if she paid attention she would have felt a surge of hastily suppressed power. The likes of which no mortal human could have normally ever hoped to control.

"Perhaps you misunderstand, Queen." He said, walking back to the corner of the cell and sitting down once more. "I did not mean I want to consume all of you. By you, I had a bedchamber in mind." He smirked, shrugging. "I've never lain with the Queen of Darkness, after all. I would imagine it would put all your followers to shame..."

With that, he leaned his head back against the cold stone and closed his eyes once more.

Morrigan watched him as he took her hand, she'd prepared for a violent snatch of her wrist, but instead, he was gentle when he took her hand, bringing her finger to his lips, before curling them around her skin. She gave a small gasp of pleasure, as he suckling the blood from her, like if it was mother's milk, selfishly lapping the silver, taking her power into him, in turn, arousing the Night Queen. He finished and the Night Queen nearly took him then and there, but gave pause when his dark eyes dilated, like a feral animal, darkness surging within him, but he did his best to suppress it. He was mortal, but he certainly wasn't human.

"Perhaps you misunderstand, Queen." He said, sitting back against the wall of his cell. "I did not mean I want to consume all of you. By you, I had a bedchamber in mind." He said and she laughed. It was a rare thing for the Night Queen not find some sexual connotation most everything, but she'd honestly, did not expect that from him. "I've never lain with the Queen of Darkness, after all. I would imagine it would put all your followers to shame..." He said and she bit her lip, kittenishly.

"Of that, I am certain." She said, and and half a mind to take him up on the offer, but no, not now, he had to woo the Day girl.

"When all of this is over." She said, and her image faded into the shadows, twirling around like a wraith. "And you do your part, kill the Day and start the war, then we will indeed find that bed, perhaps I'll even let you have a drink while we're at it...."

It was in that moment the shadows snaked between the bars and floated down the hall.

The poor Day girl, she stood not a chance.

Later that evening, The Night Queen had come to Anansi's chambers. Anansi was preparing for bed, hoping that Roland would meet her in her dreams, but when the Night Queen called, one shouldn't dally.

"Come, Day Girl, I want you to meet someone." She said, and the Night Queen lead her by the hand and down into the cells where a mortal waited.

Anansi looked dubiously at her aunt. "What is this, Aunt?"

"You like mortals, don't you."

Anansi was silently. "Only one."

"Well, perhaps you can change the mind of this one, No one wants war in the Fae, so I figured, if we could change the mind of one, perhaps were can change the mind of many." She said, and led her to the cells. Anansi took one look at the mortal man and recongized him immedately. She backed away with a start.

"That's...He's Sighted."

"Surely, don't be afraid, he's not going to harm you now." She said and Anansi looked at her. Why did she word it like that?

Would he hurt her later?

"He took Severn's leg...."

"Yes, but you, my lovely Day girl, you have a kind heart, maybe, you could shine a little of your Day into him. He has much darkness in him." She said and gently urged the girl toward the cells.

"You there." Anansi called, timidly. "What do they call you?" She said, and turned to find her aunt had disappeared, only a tendril of dark shadows lingered before vanishing completely.

Anansi was alone down here, in the dark, the only light, was emitted by her skin, a low glow like that of a candle. Her heart thumped in her chest. She wondered if Roland could feel her fear.

"Anansi. I'm so glad you're okay. You have got to get rid of Griffin. That man, you don't know. You don't know why everyone fears him so. He is a monster..." Roland said and Anansi frowned.

"That much I figured." She told him, but she could feel his worry as if it were her own. "My aunt, The Night Queen, she wants me to try to befriend him." She said, and looked down at her feet for a moment. "I feel that she has other things in mind...I can not trust her, but I can trust you, You say he is a monster, I believe you," She said and nodded, "What do you think I should do then? He is a prisoner of my mother, and the Night Queen, I do not know what I should do." She told him.

The Night Queen was soaking in a bath of milk when she felt it. The sudden surge of power, blacker then pitch. It called to her in away that only the night could. She rose from her bath, the milk clinging to her skin, hair and crown as she was drawn to the power. She knew who it was, almost immediately, she'd felt a glimpse of it, before and she knew it well now. She wouldn't stop him, she wanted to see what this was, what he would do, and how this would proceed.
Image

She may very well let him have her, she may use her magic to make that event something he'd crave. She'd toned down that natural magic, she wanted him to speak coherently, she wanted to learn this man, but in that, she learned he would be difficult to control, with words. Now with him wanting to bed her like he claimed, she could control him that way. Fae were addictive to men, bedding a fae would make that man crave nothing more but the pleasures of that fae's flesh, He would not eat, drink, sleep, he'd waste away wanting more, never being satisfied, however, She was queen, could control the amount of of need she gave, she could make him crave her enough that he would do what she asked for just a taste.

Smiling, she sunk back in her bath, waiting for these events to unfold.

"Anansi, you've got to get away from him. Convince your mother to execute him, or to throw him out, far away. Just don't let him stay there." Roland pleaded. "We've captured him before, no cell can hold him. Somehow he always finds a way out."

Roland wasn't sure how he knew to do this, but somehow he knew he could. He focused on the memories, the dreamscape around them twisted to reveal a series of cells. There was no conspicuous sign of damage, yet it was obvious they'd been broken out of from the inside.

"Everytime he let us capture him. It was to find another hideout, and then somehow he'd get out and kill the guards. He leaves a path of destruction everywhere he goes, Anansi. Please, if he hurt you, I..." Roland stopped short, unsure of his next words. What did he feel, exactly?

"Faeries sleep amidst the trees..."

Griffin's gruff voice carried throughout the chamber. His dirty face was covered in fresh silver, his tongue lewdly licking his lips as it dripped down his face. His oddly handsome features were twisted with a feral pleasure, his eyes dilating wildly as he raised a blade above his head.

"Wings all fluttering amidst the breeze." There a sickening sound of crunching bone and severing tendons as he swung it down. The blade was of Fae made, and had been seized from a guard. The same who now lay quivering on the ground, on the verge of passing out from pain as his blood drained rapidly from severed limbs. Griffin held up his freshly severed arm. The Faery was too weak to scream anymore. He showed it too him as he died, and moved on another, who crawled desperately away.

"But one Fae lies anxious, wide awake. Fearing all manner of man, dogs, and sword. For her, sleep has flown and she trembles alone."

He drove the seized blade down into the guard's back, severing his spine and ceasing his suffering. Wrenching the blade free, Griffin continued to a set of stairs, following them up out of the dungeon chamber. He drug his free hand along the stone wall, leaving a trail of silver blood in his wake. He made no effort to disguise his presence, singing loud and clear.

"For the Butcher, heartless and cold. Paid in silver and gold. He comes, he'll go, leave naught behind but heartache and woe."

A flit of movement caught his eye. His pupils dilated, instantly catching the Fae in swift flight. A gleam of light off a silver blade. Griffin parried it swiftly, pushing the blade to the side and letting it slip across the flat of his sword. He drove the pommel past the other's guard, smashing the Fae's nose flat. Throwing out his arm, he pinned the Fae's sword arm to the stairway wall, and drew his own blade slowly across the guard's throat. He grinned as Feary blood sprayed out, pumped by a rapidly beating heart.

Leaning in, he sensually let his tongue hang out, catching some of the droplets upon it. Staring into the fading eyes of the Fae, he continued.

"For the Butcher, cold and bold. Paid in silver and gold. He'll chop and slice you, gut and dice you, eat you up whole..." He let the dying creature drop, rolling down the staircase as he continued up, his tune finished. "Little Day Girl... Where, oh where are you?" He muttered to himself. His eyes gazed over, the darkness around him swirling up from the depths as he reached out, searching for her bright essence.

"Anansi, you've got to get away from him. Convince your mother to execute him, or to throw him out, far away. Just don't let him stay there." Roland said, pleading to her with his eyes, and his tone. "We've captured him before, no cell can hold him. Somehow he always finds a way out." He told her, and her brow furrowed. What manner of creature was this? He was no mere mortal, she could sense that in the cells, even still, surely he could not break from from Fae cells.

He then projected the scene on to the world around them. She looked around. She couldn't see anything physically, so clearly magic was afoot. Had she been there, she would have been able to at least sense the magic.

"Everytime he let us capture him. It was to find another hideout, and then somehow he'd get out and kill the guards. He leaves a path of destruction everywhere he goes, Anansi. Please, if he hurt you, I..." He stopped and Anansi felt the rush of confusion in his heart. He was unsure of something. Was it her? "My mother would likely have him killed once Day comes, it's the Night Queen we have to fear, she is up to something I know it." She told him before she stepped up to him, taking his hands that had fallen to his sides, and gripping them firmly. "I will try my best to stir clear of him." She said, and nodded, watching his eyes. He had such kind eyes, despite the pain swirling within. She rose a hand, placed it on his cheek and smiled. "Thank you, for caring for my safety" She said, and pressed a soft feather like kiss to his lips. She stopped, her soft expression disappearing, as she looked down at her hands, and her image began to fade. Something was corrupting the magic. Something dark. It wasn't the Night Queen. She looked up at him, fear in her eyes. She reached out to him, as if he could keep her tethered to the dreamworld. "Rola--"

It was at the moment, that Anansi was jarred from her sleep, by the sound of crashing. Her large wooden doors blew open, sending splinters of woods everywhere, she covered her face with her hands, and went the dust settled, she saw him.
Image
Large tendrils of darkness, swirling around him, searching for her light, while he himself was covered in silver blood.

"You..." She said and rose a hand, her palm shone brightly, she channeled her nature, and shot it forth, with enough force to keep his distance, but it wasn't enough to hold him back, Day didn't break yet.

"Stay Away, Demon!" She shouted, using both hands to hold him back, but she could see her light flickering, the darkness, having more power in the night, was over taking her light. Sweat dotted her brow as she forced her magic to work, even in the dark, but it was fighting back, and she could see the tendrils slowly push her back, until she was pinned between the headboard o of her bed, and the darkness.

"Roland....I can't keep my promise, my best is not enough...He is here, and he will win." She said before the darkness pushed back, pressing her against the wall, crushing her body against it, the wood splintering from the force. Finally, she had no magic left, not in the Night, and her hands fell limp at her sides, the only thing keeping her upright was the darkness itself.

The Day Queen narrowed her eyes, looking from her daughter to the wretch that took her captive. She couldn't say whether or not he could do those things he claimed, she could feel the power, being fed by the night.

"What are you waiting on, Sister, Kill the thing." The Night Queen appeared from between the shadows, and her light. her eyes cutting toward the creature. "He has the princess." The Day Queen hissed like the crackling of wood. "Yes, but he will take her, the things he will do to her."

"Which is worse?" She looked at her sister. Neither of them were at their peak, it was twilight, the time when the sun and the moon shared the sky. They were at their weakest, even if they worked together, and clearly he was darkness as well, but a different dark, and unnatural dark, it wasn't something the Night Queen could control.

"You live...Demon, but You've doomed yourself and your race." She said and stepped aside. "Stand down, let it through."
The guards that had surrounded the Day Queen and were primed to strike, gave the creature wide berth, all of them still prepared to attack.

Teh Day Queen saw the Night Queens smirked. "You had something to do with this, didn't you." The Day Queen said, her art keeping his darkness from pushing back.
"I just want these things destroyed." The Night Queen said, the amusement in her tone was not lost on her.
"You put him up to it then?" She questioned and the Night Queen shook her head.
"Oh no, This plan is all his own." She said and smiled.
"He has the princess, was that your plan?" The Night Queen chuckled." The Princess had a part to play, but no, I didn't think he'd take her."
"What did you think he'd do?" The Day Queen's eyes burned. "Trick her, she must have been smarter then she looks."

"What is the meaning of all this, What did you hope to accomplish by allying yourself with that thing...." The Night Queen merely smiled.
"War, Sister, War."

"Then you shall have it, and when we are done, you and I have much to discuss." The Day Queen growled and the Night Queen merely shrugged. "She's a smart girl, Clearly, she'll find a way out." She said and touched her sisters shoulder to which burned under her palm. The Night Queen pulled her hand away.

"After this, we've much to discuss, yes, I can take my UnSeelie and we can leave beyond the water, where the mortals roam, it'll be nothing but ashes, but that'll do us just fine."

"If you survive."

"Oh I will sister, if you will, then so shall I, There is no one without the other." She said, and the Night Queen strode off, leaving her sister glaring after her.
