Introduction
It's 1896, and the era of the west has just started to change. Just the year before, Nikola Tesla has introduced his electric generator, and now, the country is experiencing changes in every way, from race relations, to transportation, to communication, and how the law is handled. Some people accept the changes with grace and go with it. However, some refuse to accept it and rebel with unsuppressed violence. In El Paso, Texas, the law remains its unruliest. One such group that takes advantage of this is the Muldoon gang, a group of Irish immigrants and descendants who feel that they were tricked into a false life in attempting to reach the American dream. The gang is head by Gerald Muldoon, an aging man who is still considered one of the sharpest shots in the west. He has terrorized many of the people in Texas, unhinged by the law. Him and his gang have committed robberies, murders, rapes, and destruction. The government has finally had enough, issuing a hefty $10,000 for each member, and $50,000 for Gerald Muldoon dead, as well as a $100,000 reward for bringing him in alive. Some individuals all have their eyes on the prize. They all have different reasons. Some want him for the money... but others have more personal reasons for wanting him. As they all get closer to taking care of the group, the greater the tensions become. Is a man's life worth the money? And is it worth killing others for a shot at revenge? Some of them won't have their revelation until it is too late.

He soon pulled back on the reins, the horse quickly coming to a stop. He swung his legs over the horse and landed on his feel with a loud thud. He pulled down the handkerchief covering his face and took in a deep breath. It felt good to him to actually breathe the air instead of filtering it through a cloth. He looked over at his horse and pat him on the neck.
"Good job getting through the dust."
As he turned towards the door, a meek, hunched-over man with an odd smile began to approach him. He appeared to be in his fifties, sporting a walrus mustache. He worse a clean set of clothes, with a shirt, vest, and slacks, although they appeared wrinkled. Daniel rose an eyebrow as he came near. Even he was surprised at how quickly he came about. He suddenly had a feeling that this might be the vulture type.
"Welcome to El Paso, friend. Just arrived?"
"I have a feeling you know the answer to that," Daniel replied with a snide grin.
The man laughed somewhat uncomfortable laugh. He could tell most people weren't used to finding him out that quickly.
"You'd be surprised how many people walk around without you knowing," the man said. "I ask because you don't look familiar."
"It's 'cause I own a place about 30 miles east of here."
"Then I'm guessing you need a place to stay."
"That seems to be the case," Daniel said. "You wouldn't happen to have a room, would you?"
As Daniel asked this, he began to remove his duster coat. When doing this, it revealed a part of his arsenal: the Colt .45, with a wide stretch of bullets, as well as his bowie knife. The man's smile disappeared as his eyes widened as he spotted them. Daniel was too busy grabbing a bundled object strapped down to the back of his horse's saddle to notice the expression, however. As he looked back, the man composed himself and chuckled quietly.
"Uh, we do have some rooms upstairs. One of our finer ones. However, since they're our only ones left and I think they might outdo your... er, necessities, I can give you a discount off the normal price."
Daniel gave him a surprised look. It suddenly dawned on him why. He realized the weapons made him look to be a threat. He figured the man was trying to play nice. For most others, they'd view someone with his load out as a threat that they should keep happy, lest they blow up the town. Daniel smiled thankfully as he nodded.
"Thank you, sir. It's considerate of you."
Daniel wrapped his arm around the bundled object and headed towards the door. He figured the price wouldn't have been an issue either way... especially after he got what he was after.

Once she reached the top of the stairs, that's when her steps quieted into soft thuds, going up to each room and pressing her ear to the doors. She listened, and listened, and listened, until she could hear muffled laughter, pipes running, perhaps a bath being readied. Those were certainly sounds of love-making or the beginnings of it. If it not for the walrus-mustache fella that ran this inn, these two wouldn't be getting it on in the bright of the day.
Listening in a bit more, Gabriela figured they'd closed the bathroom door and were currently taking to extreme limits of bath love. She tried the doorknob but it was securely locked. A frustrated hiss slipped past her lips until another idea entered her mind. She tried the room next door, and to her luck, it was vacant and unlocked, unlikely of a chance but here it was. With that, Gabriela slid inside, quietly closing the door behind her. And without a moment of hesitation, she crossed the room with a quick jog and unlatched the window that led to the little balcony connecting the rooms out front. Lifting it open, she haphazardly climbed out, which was a moment to just be quick and sightless.
Without being seen by curious eyes in the street, she crept along the wall until she reached the proper window for the room of the wealthy man. Just as she'd suspected, his mistress had made herself comfortable for the night, the jewelry she'd taken off were left on a nightstand just next to the window, if Gabriela could only reach inside and grab the loot...
The window was slightly open in order to let in fresh air, but it wasn't enough to squeeze in a hand. Curling her slender fingers along the wood, Gabriela lifted to slide the window more open so her torso could fit. Quickly, and as quietly as she could, she poked her head inside, glanced around and reached... There was obvious strain and while she balanced on the windowsill on her stomach, she let out small groans but she just couldn't reach the extra inch to grab the necklace and the earrings that accompanied it. Her face was even getting red from all the strain.
After a moment of contemplation, the woman unrolled her white sleeve for it was longer than her hand and whipped it over the surface of the dresser, sliding the jewelry to the edge and over it, but before they could tumble to the floor, she caught it swiftly and pulled herself out from inside the window. There was a moment of admiration in her loot, "Hola bonita," she whispered, allowing her lips to curl a sly smirk. Stashing the loot in the pocket of her trousers, she slid the window down to the same way it had been and turned around to head through the window she'd climbed out of. And since the room was vacant, she was taking her sweet time climbing through the window.

"Excuse me?" Felix said cautiously.
He didn't want to offend either of the men. He had enough trouble already.
"Sorry to interrupt you sir, but did you say you have rooms for rent?" He asked, tipping his hat to the man in the duster. "I just blew into town myself and I don't want to be left out in the cold" Felix joked, trying to be friendly.
The old man smiled, a little weary of the traveler, but nodded.
"We do have rooms, my good man" The old timer said with a chuckle.
"Great! I'll take one immediately!" Felix replied, actually relieved his lucky was looking up.
As he started inside, he noticed weapons under the other man's duster. He didn't have the looks of a lawman at all, so that meant he was either a bounty hunter or just another crook looking for someone to leech off of. Felix turned to the man, curious who he'd be sharing a hotel with, and spoke gently in case this man was an outlaw.

Daniel understood when it was necessary. It was when those who barged in for no apparent reason that he couldn't stand. He tipped his hat to the two as he peered inside. As he stuck his head inside a heavy stench of smoke and alcohol vented out. Daniel turned his head away momentarily. It suddenly dawned on him that the new law that the government passed was making this a field day for some. He didn't know much except it was impossible to get booze on Sundays unless it was at a hotel. When he remembered this, he started to wonder how many people were actually staying there and how many were just living it up til they drunken husks. He sighed quietly as he shook his head. Even as a partial Irishman he didn't partake in anything like that.
"If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna check around."
"All right. Your room numbers 203. I can bring the key up to you later."
Daniel nodded towards the old man as he looked back towards the door. Daniel quickly took in a deep breath as he moved inside. Soon, the raucous sounds of the bar assaulted his ears. Laughter of drunken disorderlies at the bar, victorious cheers and disgruntled scowls at the poker table, and a piano playing wildly in the corner. The piano was quiet old. He good tell from the faded paint and splintering wood around its frame. At least it sounded in tune. The bar was well stocked, even for a hotel. Bottles of various liquors, beers, and wines were behind the counter, and just as full were the seats alongside it. He turned his head to look back towards the table. As he did, he noticed the man from outside has a wound on his head. Daniel's eyes narrowed, curiosity suddenly taking over his mind. He shook the thoughts from his head. It wasn't his place to ask. As far as he was concerned, it could have come from anything. He decided it would be best just to find a room. He quickly headed up the stairs. The steps emitted somewhat loud creaks as he ascended them. After reaching the second floor, he looked for the room number, spotting it to his left.
"And here we go."
He grabbed the handle and opened the door. As he did, he spotted someone in the window: a young Hispanic woman was in the middle of it. When he entered, they locked eyes, frozen in place. Daniel stared at her, unsure of what was going on exactly.
"Sneaking in or skipping bail?" Daniel asked, unsure of what else to say.

The wails in the next room continued, and she could hear the man trying to calm his mistress. Pretty soon, they'd have to leave their room and speak to management, after that, the entire inn will be raided. That's why Gabriela had to leave the inn as soon as possible, but she couldn't possibly leave the room right now with the couple able to rush out of their room at any moment.
As quick as lightning, Gabriela's startled expression faded away into amusement. She chuckled warmly, "I was opening window for fresh air- I clean-- Let me help," Gabriela spoke in her thick accent, then she pushed off the door and curled her fingers along the collar of his duster, tugging it gently down. "Let me help, I hang this up for you," she repeated. Maybe a fool. Gabriela thought, having gotten the bright idea to impersonate a maid. Although hardly any maid ran around with trousers instead of skirts.

"Ma'am... it's my job to find idiots, not be one. Most maids don't wear pants like that... and even fewer have belts with holsters."
He motioned towards them with his eye as he looked back towards her. An odd grin grew on face as he chuckled silently. He had learned the hard way in life not to let any facts slide by him. Admittedly, he also learned to at least hear someone out on a situation. He leaned back on the door, tilting his head to the side. He wasn't sure why, but he was fairly certain he had seen her somewhere before. He wasn't sure if it was a bounty or not... but he was certain.
"I know there's something up hear. Tell me what you're doing in here. You wouldn't happen to have something to do with the screaming lady next door now, would you?"
The one thing he was hoping for was avoiding a gunfight. At the current moment, it would be more than an inconvenience to him.

"I have nothing to do with the woman," she explained, rooting her palms along her hips, "Why do you suspect me?" For the moment, she looked offended. "I am here, she is there- how can I do something?" She pointed towards the window she'd gotten in through, "I just open window for fresh air- enjoy your stay," she grinned sheepishly, then turned to leave.

"Ma'am" He said and politely tipped his hat.
No need to be rude, even if she was a jezebel. Times were tough and folks had to make money somehow. Who was he to judge? When he reached Room 206, Felix found his door was locked. He sighed and rested his forehead against it. Now he'd have to make the awkward trip back downstairs. As he turned to return to the lobby, he spotted the little old man coming up the stairs. He met him halfway, near the couple.
"Um... My doors locked, sir" Felix said pointing over his shoulder.
"Apologizes, young man. I realized that room has already been rented to a man in El Paso on business. Came to let you know 204 is all yours" The man explained, handing Felix a key.
"Thank you kindly" He said, again tipping his hat. "You know where a fella could get his pistols looked at? My Colt took a tumble into some mud about a mile outside of town and I could use some ammo" Felix asked, looking down at his dirty Dragoon.
The old man scratched his chin and thought hard.
"Couple places in town could help ya, but they're real picky about costumers ever since The Muldoon's started shaking the owners down. Don't want nobody havin the one up on em, ya see?" He said coldly.
Felix's eyes narrowed when he heard the name, eager to put a bullet between the eyes of the men that'd wronged him.
"Thank you kindly, sir. I'll just ask around then..." He said, trailing off in thought.
The old man smiled warmly and returned to the lobby, leaving Felix standing alone, lost in his own mind. The rumors of Muldoon activity in El Paso had been true, and he was one step closer to his goal. Even though he still had no clues as to his identity, nor how he had been involved with the group, he took solace in knowing the memories could come flooding back at any time, triggered by names or locations from his past. This was his hope, at least. Doc Patterson had explained that his life before the accident could go unknown for years, possibly for the rest of his life. It was in God's hands, an entity Felix didn't believe in. His life, and death, were things he controlled.
While passing the couple, Felix worked up the courage to stop. Perhaps the woman was a local, and if that was the case, she could have possible leads on The Muldoon's.
"Sorry to chime in again, mister... But would that lady friend of yours happen to be from El Paso?" He questioned, again treading lightly around the armed man in the duster.

"Ma'am, I'm not gonna lie, I don't believe you. I figure I might as well just ask the owner to settle the manner. 'Course, if you have nothing to hide, it shouldn't be a problem."
Soon he began to undo the bundle. As he did, he revealed a pristine Winchester repeater rifle. Everything about it looks new; the wood and brass were polished, and the body had an even build. Daniel sat down on the bed and placed it on his lap. However, he didn't pay attention to the woman as he did so. Instead, he began to inspect his rifle.
"I'll tell you what though... I'll give you one last chance to tell me what's really happening. If I believe you... I won't have management get involved. If I don't, I'll have them sort it out. Other than that though, I won't do anything else. I don't exactly have a the real grasp of the situation so I won't do anything other than give my opinion. I'll tell you this though... I'm really hopin' I don't see a bounty post with your picture on it."
He looked back up towards her, the brim of his hat barely above his eyes. His expression was blank.
"So you can walk out the door or I can listen to your side of the story one more time. It's really up to you."
As he finished, the man from earlier stopped by and asked about the woman. He looked over to him. He then looked back over toward the woman and started chuckling quietly.
"That's a good question. Why do you ask?"

"You speak as if I'm not here," Gabriela frowned, folding her arms across her chest.
"That's a good question. Why do you ask?"
"Por favor, let me explain," she quickly ducked behind the newly acquainted man, closing the door behind him. Reason for that? She heard the wealthy couple billow out of their room in rage. "I was sneaking, si," Gabriela explained, looking defeated, glancing towards the man on the bed. There was a change in her expression to something like immense sorrow or regret, it looked very genuine, for she was a master at acting. And as the story began billowing from within her lips, she got more into the damsel in distress character, even shedding a tear.
"I was dressed like man, because I sneak to see my husband fooling around with that screaming puta," she explained with wide hand gestures, "You understand?"

"If you say so, ma'am."
He slowly walked towards the door tipping his hat towards the two before taking it off and putting it on the white night stand next to the bed.
"Just need to sort something out real quick. Just do me a favor and answer his question. I'm sure you got nothing else to hide from."
He opened the door and quickly took a turn towards the stairs. As he did, he saw the owner ascending it. Clearly he was a busier man than he expected. Daniel smiled as he neared him. He took a brief look towards the door of the room with the hysterical woman than back towards the owner.
"Everything alright?"
"Not really," the man said, shaking his head. "Some poor woman was just robbed of her jewelry. Apparently it was worth a fortune. A family heirloom o-or something like that."
"Damn shame, especially if it's more priceless than expensive," Daniel said respectfully. "Oh, sorry, sir, I forgot to ask for the key to my room since you were busy," he quietly said, motioning towards his room with his head. "I was wondering if I could get it now?"
"Of course! Follow me."
The man quickly turned around and descended the stairs, with Daniel following him. He looked back up, curious as to what the man wanted with her. Was he following her for something else? He wasn't sure what, but he wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Still, something about the man made him think there was something else behind this. He was wondering... was he going after Muldoon too?

"Just need to sort something out real quick. Just do me a favor and answer his question. I'm sure you got nothing else to hide from."
The man disappeared into the hallway, leaving Felix alone with the woman, who stared at him blankly.
"Um... So, yes... Are you familiar with the area, Ma'am?" He asked nervously, not wanting to offend her again.
He sighed when he realized his mistake, removed his hat quickly and extended his hand to her.
"How very rude of me... My name is..." He paused for a moment, considering the dangers of revealing his name, or at least what he believed his true name to be.
If his God given name truly Felix Price, and this woman was somehow connected to The Muldoon's, they'd find him for sure. Hell, for all he knew, he could have been a wanted killer in five states. He searched his mind quickly before landing on the only surname in his memory other than his own, which belonged to the doctor that had saved him.
"My name is Felix Patterson" He said with a smile. "Just blew in from Guadalupe, Chihuahua" He added without realizing he had said it.
He suddenly remembered being in Mexico, and spending time in Chihuahua. This must have been caused by one of the flashes Doc Patterson had mentioned, which surprised Felix. He remembered enough about Guadalupe to cover his tracks if she questioned his origins, so he was in the clear for now. He waited patiently for the woman to introduce herself and hoped she could help him.

"No," she simply replied, shaking her head, "I know nothing," she murmured, which was an easy reply, because from experience, she knew if you showed knowledge, you were going to be used like a dog. However, it did grow to be a curious information that he was from Chihuahua. It's been such a long time since she's been to her home country, that Gabriela could only reminisce when she hears it's mention.
"What do you need to know about this place?" She asked, her gaze unwavering and intense as it settled on him. She'd already planned to walk out soon, before the other man returned. But with the flustered couple probably downstairs by now, Gabriela would have to find a way to escape. Window, easy enough.
Meanwhile, downstairs, after having dressed haphazardly, the wealthy couple were verbally attacking the bearded man, demanding to know if anyone came through their room. 'Things were stolen, for chrissakes! Don't just stand there!'

"Sir? Ma'am? Instead of shouting at the old coot, maybe you should do a better job at keeping your valuables secure."
The man and woman looked back towards Daniel, offended by his comment. It was apparent the owner was able to let the comment slide, because the moment the couple turned away, he slid back into his own room. The man approached Daniel in a threatening stance.
"What's that supposed to mean?" he said in a low voice.
"What I'm tryin' to say is instead of blaming someone who had no fault in the situation, you should keep your damn door locked," Daniel said, tilting his head back upstairs. "Not gonna lie, I felt sorry for you when he mentioned what happened, but now I'm starting to think you're the kind of upscale jackals that blame everyone else when something goes wrong. Hell, I could have walked in there while you were cussin' up a storm with the man and steal the rest of your possessions! Wouldn't make it any less wrong, but it makes the whole damn thing more foolish on your part."
The man and woman continued to stare at him, practically shocked at the words that escaped him. The man's face was turning beet red as it became apparent he was attempting to resist any urge to hit the man. Daniel gave the couple a dismissive look as he turned back and continued his way back to his room.
"Good luck finding your possessions. Wish you the best..."
"What did you mean 'the rest'?" the woman asked.
Daniel turned his head towards the couple with a confused look on his face.
"What do you mean 'what did I mean'?"
"It sounded like a slip to me," the woman replied. "Maybe a guilty conscience urging you to help the man?"
Daniel glared at the woman for a brief second. He scoffed, shaking his head in annoyance.
"There you go, blaming others like I said," he muttered.
He gave them a dismissive wave as he head back towards his room. The man started after him, but Daniel slammed the door behind him, locking it a second later. He growled quietly as he moved over to the bed.
"Rich bastards... they're gonna ruin this country."

"Thanks for picking me back up back there, saved my legs a long walk."
"Oh, it's my pleasure to help someone in need." said the smaller man with a messy black beard sitting at the reins.
"Have yourself a nice day." Charlie said as he tipped his hat to the small man.
The small man tipped his own hat back, and Charlie turned around. Charlie walked into the bustling road. He observed El Paso, he heard loud chanting, yelling, laughing, and smelled smoke from a single building. He thought to himself, "If Mr. Muldoon were anywhere... he'd be there..." Charlie walked into the building, which now revealed itself to be a hotel by the way it looks also. He got strange looks as he entered, not only was he carrying a shotgun in one hand, but the scar across his face added to his mysterious prescence. People stared at him, he smiled at whoever he saw stare at him, "This is no time to act tough... play friendly" he thought to himself. He weaved through the standing people and chairs to get to the last open table which was in the corner of the room. Once he got there, he placed his shotgun down and pulled out the chair. He sat down and looked across the busy room. A quite chubby man lacking any facial hair, with a red face, and short blonde hair approached him.
"Hullo! You want somin' to drink, sir?" said the chubby man.
"Uh, I'm going to assume you work here, and yes I'll take a bottle of whiskey." Charlie said with a smirk.
"Okay... I'll be right on it." said the man, now even redder due to the fact he realized he forgot to introduce himself. He scurried off behind the counter.
Charlie observed his surrounding, he was met with many akward stares and gazes. "This guy better show up soon..." he thought to himself.

Hopefully, she could assist him. With no memory of his past life, a friend in the area would.d be beneficial.
"Would you care for a drink? I was going to head to the saloon and I'd hate to go alone" Felix asked with a smile.

And you know what I think, maybe one more person to sign up and we can start. It'd be good with a small group. And if anything I can double later on to give it spark. :)
