Introduction

Through everything, there is one group dedicated to finding the Last Remnant and protecting it from those who would abuse its power. They are known as the Remnant Guild. The Remnant Guild welcomes members from all walks of life into their numbers so long as they vow to benefit the Guild's goals and to preserve this new mashed-up world. They live in a castle on the side of a cliff on the outskirts of a small human town. While they are just a small group of people and less a full guild, their power is nothing to turn one's nose up at. Will this collective of ragtag heroes be able to combat the forces that would use the crystal's power for evil, or will they become the saviors of this new world? That is to be decided...
Hello there. This is one of your GMs speaking. I'm assuming that you're looking for roles. There are 8 in total, and 6 available. I will add more in twos if I get more interest. Sexes should be even, though I am not defining who is what sex. I also have a list in the OOC for species.
With that, on to the roles!
The leader's job is to direct the group through strategy and any other means. Make sure events and tasks get taken care of, as well as promote teamwork, comeraderie, and a positive atmosphere. They also serve as a jack-of-all-trades and the go-to person for any guild or personal issues.
β‘The Co-Leader/Scholarβ‘ - [TAKEN - buggleuggy]
The co-leader's job is to assist the leader in their job as well as play middle-man if the leader is unavailable at any time. They may also take a second role of their choice.
β‘The Healerβ‘ - [TAKEN - Homesick Angel]
The healer's job is to tend to the wounds and illnesses of the fellow guild members and overall just make sure that everyone is kept healthy, either through magical or non-magical means.
β‘The Magicianβ‘ - [TAKEN - Kagerou]
One who devotes themselves to the arcane arts to assist the guild. With powers of destructive and creative force and knowledge of the arcane, the Magician holds the key to detecting and utilizing magic.
β‘The Fighterβ‘ - [TAKEN - Fabricator]
The Fighter is a pure melee and non-magical warrior of some sort. Their physical skill is rivaled only by few and their ability to take hits, regardless of their body type, is to be admired.
β‘The Marksmanβ‘ - [TAKEN - Mask Wearer]
The Marksman deals consistent damage at a range, be it through a bow, crossbow, gun, or some other means. They stay safe and put out damage, and their eyes are sharp as a blade.
β‘The Scoutβ‘ - [TAKEN - orokay]
The Scout's eyes and ears are always open in search of information of any kind, especially if it pertains to the Remnant. They report all findings directly to the leader. In combat, they have the option of melee or ranged attacks. They survey the battlefield and relay any useful information to allies.
β‘The Newbieβ‘ - [TAKEN - Gerr74]
The newbie is the most recent member of the guild. Their role is unclear to them, something to be discovered as they grow and get at home in the Remnant Guild. With time, they will be able to select their own role as they figure out more about themselves.
β‘The Inventorβ‘ - [TAKEN - Riley Shikoku]
This class is from one of the more advanced cultures. This is a master with technology and creation, making devices and gadgets to benefit their causes. Be they weapons, trinkets, or anything they can physically craft, the Inventor is an intelligent creator.
β‘The Bodyguardβ‘ - [TAKEN - Maestro]
The Bodyguard's role is to protect the members of the guild at any cost. They are a master at defensive and protective arts, among many other things. Their ability to take hits and dish them back out is enough to rival and maybe even surpass that of the Fighter.
Kagerou and I await your submissions. Below the image of the Guild Castle, you will find a suggested character sheet. While you do not have to follow it to the T, we would like to have most if not all of this information on your submission. If there is anything you do not want shared with the group, please PM it to me. Welcome... To Remnant Guild.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 9 authors
"It is time to assemble the guild... Get them acquainted."
The main staircase in the Entrance hall elevated up half a level before splitting off into separate staircases, one to the left and one to the right. Cadis descended from the right and stopped at the top of the split. It had seemed that everyone had gathered here before him, save for the Marksman who appeared to be missing. Cadis paid it no mind at the moment looking to keep calm and organized. He was the leader, and he had an image to upkeep. Looking down at his fellow guildmates, the light coming through a stained glass window behind him illuminated the room and staining the pale walls with color. It was a nice effect that he really seemed to enjoy. Letting his lips curl up into a smile, he raises his right arm in greeting.
"Hello, Remnant Guild. And good morning." His voice was definitely still young, but it had an air of confidence, preparation. "We have all met me, but for presentation's sake, I will introduce myself formally to you all. My name is Cadis. Cadis Oraya. I am the founder of our group and the one who brought you all together this morning." He paused a moment to look everyone over again, matching face to name in his mind before continuing. "I will briefly introduce everyone by role. After I do so, I would like all of you to find someone and talk to one another. Discuss whatever you feel will help you cooperate and get along. I know you are all different, from different walks of life with different skills and different races. But let us make that an advantage, rather than a disadvantage... I am sure you're all tired of hearing my talk now, though. So on with introductions."
As he would speak, he would hold out his hand in gesture to each person to indicate that is who he was talking about. "The Co-leader and Scholar, Obadiah Knox. The Inventor, Rose Minami. The Newbie, Kenneth Maldrough. The Magician, Kurila Vershken. The Scout, Elyssa Massey. The Healer, Twillabelle Eerin, The Fighter known as Kairo the Crashing Storm. And my long-time friend and the Bodyguard, Raziel Rakshdos. I have given your names. All I ask for is a little mingling, conversation and cooperation. We are all here for our own reasons, but we are united under one goal. I have traveled the world and found some of you. Some of you found me. You are here because I trust all of you to be this world's protectors." He paused to give a final smile as he begins descending the staircase. "We are a team. We are Remnant... Welcome, one and all."
As he descended, from a set of doors to the right of the room, many of the castle's workers and staff came out with tables. Each one was leaned up against one of the pillars of the Entrance Hall, filled corner to corner with foods and drinks of all sorts. There was sure to be something for everyone.
This small social event would be the first stepping stone on the path to Remnant's success.
The setting changes from Remnant Castle to Multiverse
Elyssa had positioned herself as far to the back of the room as she could in a spot veiled by shadow. She leaned against a pillar with her arms crossed over her chest and an amused smile gracing her lips. She was not entirely hiding, and was rather easy to spot if you were looking for her, but out of sight if you weren't and that was the way she wanted it. Elyssa had managed to put off mingling as long as she could, but now that it was inevitable she made sure that she had the upper hand. As soon as she learned of the meeting, the experienced scout had inspected the room where it would be held to find just the right place to stay that she could watch the others all at once. She had even made sure to arrive early so that she could see them enter. It seemed a bit extreme, but Elyssa wanted to gain every upper hand that she could.
So there she was, still as a statue, when Cadis Oraya, one of two Vishkanyas in the group, and the guild leader entered and introduced himself as well as all of the other members of the guild. Elyssa had met Cadis a few times, but preferred her meetings to be brief and simple. Any other time she had simply watched him from afar and from what she could tell, he wasn't a threat to her as long as everything she did was for the best of the guild. As for the other members of Remnant, however, Elyssa had made sure to have little to no contact with them one-on-one. She had done her research, of course, but she definitely kept her distance as much as possible.
Cadis' speech was short and simple, he wanted them to meet each other, make friends, play nice. Elyssa mentally shrugged, if anyone wanted to talk they could come to her. Until then, she would be more than happy to watch the mingling take place and make some mental notes on who she'd be traveling with.
She spotted a table laid out with food not too far from where she was standing and strode over to it eagerly. Elyssa made her way to a plate of cheeses and in a quick motion, her dagger was in her hand and a cube of cheese was skewered on the blade. She leaned against the table, nibbling at the cheese and watching the other members of the guild, curious as to what they might do next.
Rose opened one of her eyes and stared at the ceiling before she realized that she had a meeting with Cadis in a little bit. She opened her other eye and sat up in her bed. She looked around her room at the cluttered mess of books and spare parts that were scattered across the floor. She sighed. I'll clean it up tomorrow. I need to hurry and get to that meeting. She slipped on her usual dress. She looked around for her scythe but she couldn't seem to find it. She heard a clank and looked up at the ceiling and saw that her scythe was lodged in the ceiling. She easily pulled it out and put it in it's holder. It folded up to about the size of a ten by sixteen inch box. She wasn't of anything else but that weapon. It was her pride and joy. She was the only one really able to wield it since it had such an unorthodox combination of weapons. She walked over to her table where she had currently been working on a gun that worked with both bullets and crossbow bolts. It was interesting coming up with something like this. It took her a lot of time, but she thought that she would have it finished by today. If the meeting with Cadis didn't run long then she would finish it and present it to him for another weapon to put in his armory. She made quite a few weapons because she had been here so long. She had made a kind of flash paper that instead of burning into thin air, it only only activated when exposed to air, but it didn't just burn... it exploded. She smiled at the thought of her many failed attempts, a part of her room actually exploded at some point. She simply laughed. She grabbed a few of her autonomy books and walked over to the door and opened it.
She walked down the halls of the castle. She was always amazed at the sheer size of the castle. She also admired the artwork and the type of decorum that was strewn throughout the hall. The doors to the entrance hall were before her before she knew it and she opened them. It appeared that she was the earliest to arrive. She just took a seat in a shady spot in the room where no one would notice her. She waited for the rest of the people to show up and soon enough she heard Cadis start one of his speeches. She stood up and made her way toward the bulk of the group. As soon as Cadis had listed her name, she widened her eyes a little bit. She didn't want unnecessary attention. As she looked around she noticed that someone in the crowd stood out to her more than anyone else. Is that... a machination? She stared at him. She felt the urge to study him. She had wanted to make a machination since forever. She smiled a wider smile than she had ever smiled. As soon as the speech was over and all the food came out, she ran over to the dessert table and grabbed some sweets, trying to balance them with the rest of the things she was holding. She then walked over to the place she was sitting earlier but accidentally tripped and spilled the desserts on the floor. She blushed, embarrassed. Why does this have to happen to me? Her head hung low as she sat in her little dark spot in the entrance hall. She sat there in utter embarrassment. She wanted to cry because she was so embarrassed. She hugged her books tightly as she stuck her head in-between her legs. I'll just embarrass myself if I talk to anyone. I guess I shouldn't...

There was no need to hide it. Raziel hated socializing, and he despised people in general even more. Heβd been accustomed to living his life in the dark and was more interested in keeping an eye on things than he was getting involved. There was no way he was going to be distracted from ensuring Cadisβs safety nor would he let anyone else in the guild or otherwise get in-between him accomplishing that goal. Instead, he only lingered unseen in the shadows while staying ever so close to Cadis at all times.
His speech was amusing at best. Cooperation, getting along⦠united in just cause. A laughable attempt at what was never meant to last. This was the beginning of the end, and Raziel knew that better than anyone. Nothing lasted forever regardless of how much people wished it would. Remnant. That was all they were against the terrors that awaited for them outside the castle. Some of the members had no idea what it was like to be on their own; no idea what it was like to truly be afraid.
Emerging from his nest in the shadows, he grunted as he came face to face with Rose in the dark lonely corner near the entrance hall. Looming over her, he grimaced, kneeling in front of her and cocking his head curiously to the side. βAre you trying to be pathetic little girl?β He said stoically, poking her in the back of the head as she sat there in the fetal position. βI donβt think Lord Cadis arranged this little get together for you to sit here in the corner sulking.β

The hall was rather large, gloriously decorated staircases winding their way about the corridor. His arrival was neither late, nor early, only announced by the wretched squeaking of his mechanical limbs. Though he felt quite the eyesore in a room of such grandeur, his shoulders remained high and eyes forward. Mingling was not his thing, nor were people, and so he did not approach anybody, as he was not willing to converse so easily. However, as soon as Cadis appeared at the top of the staircase to address the guild, he figured that there was no slipping away. As his superior spoke, Obadiah was eager to listen, his body staying unnaturally rigid as he listened. He was aware that there was someone staring, a young woman whom he did not turn to look at. He didn't mind the slight attention. Being a machination, he was used to the occasional odd stare. She was no threat. No need to worry.
Cadis dismissed them, leaving Obadiah unmoving. He didn't understand what he was supposed to do. He could visit the snack table, although he wasn't exactly sure how his body would react to food. He had never needed to eat before. Was... he expected to start a conversation? What did people enjoy talking about? He tried to string together words and form a cohesive introduction, his mind rattling off nonsense about the weather and something about books... That wouldn't do.
Tired of stumbling over his own words, Obadiah merely decided to go with his first idea and visit the snack table, even if to merely look. He made his way to one residing only a few feet away, the only other person their being a girl busy eating a block of cheese that she had sliced to perfection with her own knife. He kept what he believed was a normal distance away, giving her a simple nod of hello as opposed to any sort of formal greeting that would have had to include words.

She had her meal atop the highest point of the castle facing the rolling ocean as the sun steadily rose higher into the sky. It was the simple things in life that made her feel the most alive. Owl's were nocturnal creatures by nature, Tilly had seen more sunsets and she had sunrises, so for every one she witnessed, she savored. Unlike she savored the mouse, which was swallowed whole. After a time, however, even she grew bored of the the sunrise, and she took flight again. The next few hours before Cadis had ordered her to meet were spent lazily flying around the nearby area. By the time it reached noon, Tilly tilted her wings and began to head back to the castle.
Instead of taking the door like a normal individual would, she chose a... Different method of entry. The window. Landing on the bannister at the bottom floor, Tilly tilted her head one-hundred eighty degrees around her, realizing that she had been the last to enter. Still, if it seemed to bother the owl any at all, she didn't show it. Once Cadis began his speech, her head spun back around and watched the man they called their leader. Throughout his speech, Tilly's head was ever in movement. First tilting to one side, then to the other, then she began to preen. It was... An odd sight, to see a man giving a speech while an owl straightened it's feathers. No one ever accused Tilly of being ordinary, however.
Once he called Twillabelle's name, she gave a call, "Hoo-hoo-hoo!" Just to clarify who he was talking about. Soon after, he concluded the speech and began to descend the stairs. "Dramatic," She projected for Cadis to hear. The man had an odd ability to communicate mentally with wildlife-- her included. So obviously she was going to take advantage of that. "Never been called the world's protector before. You have a way of making a girl feel special, Cad." She ended the wordless comment with an audible hoot, before spinning around on the bannister to see what she had to work with. He had told them to be social, and Tilly was nothing if not a social creature...
Unfortunately, it appeared that many of the others weren't. A few of them even stuck to the shadows, and those that didn't had very few words to say to each other. Tilly got about as close to rolling her eyes as an Owl was able before throwing another comment Cadis's way, "I've seen more exciting parties in cemeteries. Seriously." There was a levity in her mental tone, and maybe even something that was approaching a chuckle. A whoosh later, an Tilly took to the air again, flying toward one of the shadowy corners. She landed near a pair, the ones called Rose and Raziel if she remembered correctly. She'd seen the way Rose had fallen and dropped her sweets, and she'd also heard what Raziel had said to her. With the eyes and ears of an owl, one didn't miss much. She hopped closer and picked up a cupcake before fluttering her wings and landing on the top of Rose's head. There she stayed for a moment, holding the cupcake above the woman's head so as not to tangle up her hair and she stared at Raziel, her head tilted one-eighty to the side.
What happened next came in a flash. The owl that stood perched on top of the girl's head was no more, replaced by an adult woman sitting next to Rose, with one hand thrown over her shoulders and the other holding onto the cupcake. Instead of saying anything, she pressed the cupcake to her lips and took a bite, her eyes widening from the shock of sugar. "Oh wow, that's good. You have great taste sweetheart. Here, try it," Tilly said, holding the cupcake out for the girl to sample.
"I bet you get it all the time, but has anyone told you you have a wonderful personality?" She asked Raziel, a smile painted on her lips, outlined by a hint of frosting from the cupcake. The way she said it, it could've almost been taken at face value, instead of dripping with sarcasm.
Almost.

As the hour passed, the sun slowly came up. In her true form, the light passed right through her and expelled vibrant colours. She was like a prism. The walls of her room displayed these colours beautifully, and it was a shame that Kurila was the only one who could see it. The others were now starting to stir, and she figured it was time for the Guild meeting. Switching to her ugly and heavy human form, she walked to the main room. She was the first one there, it seemed. As always. Only Cadis was there, but that was to be expected. She didn't speak to him, and simply waited for the meeting to start.
After everyone was gathered, Cadis introduced everyone by role and name. He then told them to interact and get to know each other. However, Kurila didn't know where to start. She never had contact with any of these races before. She didn't know the proper way of speech, and her voice probably would have scared them off anyway. Kurila couldn't just leave, either. It would be better to wait for the other members to come to her, instead of fumbling over her inexperience of the world.
Kenneth was probably one of the last people to arrive, as he was usually late. He had surprisingly woke up pretty early, but that costed him the needed sleep to get through the planned meeting. About half an hour before the meeting, Kenneth decided to take a nap under a tree, which leaded to him being the last person to arrive.
It wasn't that he didn't care for the gathering, he was actually extremely excited for it. This is where he would finally get to see his new team-mates. He had been offered to join only a few days ago. In these days, he was looking around the castle and settling down. He didn't have enough time to speak or even see any of his guild mates, and in turn, they have yet to see him. Cadis has been the only one Kenneth has spoken to, and Kenneth barely even knows much about his mysterious new leader. Even though, he was still excited nonetheless.
He was making a fast dash towards the main hall's doors, as that is where he last remembered the meeting taking place. right as he pushed the large doors open, he spoke out.
"Hey! Sorry guy's I wa-"
He was soon cut short as he tripped over his own legs from not paying any attention. He made a small yelp as he fell; He ended up falling face first onto the hard floor. Other then crying out or complaining like he usually would, he decided to man up for his new companions, as he has already embarrassed himself enough in the first few seconds of contact with them. He quickly stood back up, brushing off what just happened with only slight coloration of his cheeks, then moved to the snack bar, not paying much attention to others, and going straight for the food.
The setting changes from Multiverse to Remnant Castle
Elyssa found the group to be quite entertaining, though not nearly as social as she had imagined they would be. In fact, she noticed that quite a few of them had been doing their best to stay unnoticed, not unlike she had before revealing herself and coming to the snack table. They had quite a collection of races, though, Elyssa had to admit. They even had an Azurelle, a race that she had only heard about from whispers and rumors and most definitely did not expect to find at Remnant Castle.
Some of the members had not done much since Cadis opened the floor to socializing, but Elyssa took a mental inventory of those who had. There was a small human girl who had made a beeline for the dessert table only to trip and drop the desserts she had collected all over the floor. Elyssa sneered, this was their inventor? she thought. The girl's name was Rose if she remembered correctly and unless the look of pure embarrassment on Rose's face and the way she curled up in shame was just an act, Elyssa doubted she was threat to her. Soon after, a Vishkanyan that she had noticed stalking about the shadows near Cadis emerged with a sneer aimed at Rose and knelt in front of her. Elyssa couldn't hear what he was saying, but working as a scout required the ability to read lips and she could make out the gist of it. The Vishkanyan must be Raziel, the only one of that race other than Cadis within the guild that the rogue knew of. Next, the owl that Elyssa had noticed enter through the window swooped over and landed on Rose's head. Suddenly, the owl was gone and instead there was a woman sitting beside rose. Beastfolk. Elyssa had amost forgotten that there was one of that kind in the guild, from that knowledge, the rogue could conclude that the owl was Twillabelle, the healer. Elyssa turned her attention to the Azurelle for a moment, it seemed that she hadn't moved and was waiting for someone else to approach. Though Elyssa was curious about her race, it was that same lack of knowledge that kept her from engaging with her.
Instead, she turned her attention back towards the snack table to see that the machination had arrived. He simply nodded a hello to her while keeping a bit of a distance between them. Elyssa almost laughed, "I'm not going to bite, you know." She shrugged and nibbled at her cheese, looking back towards the small group gathered around Rose. "If you didn't catch it already, my name is Elyssa Massey." She added, her pale green eyes flickering back towards the machination.
However, a nearby yelp brought her attention to who Elyssa recognized to be the newest member of the guild. He seemed to have tripped as he entered and landed face first on the ground. This time, the rogue did laugh. She watched as he picked himself up and went straight for the snack table, not too far from where her and the machination were standing.
"What profound grace." Elyssa bantered towards the newbie, "you must be our resident ballerina."
He looked up from eyeing the food when he was spoken to. He looked up to see a older women speaking to him about his fall. He chuckled slightly as he himself felt like laughing afterwards.
"At one point before I came here, I thought I would become a ballerina, I'm glad to see some one saw the potential in me, I'm Kenneth Maldrough, who might you be?" He asked politely.
While he was conversing with her, he looked around the room finally at everyone else there. There were mainly people in dark corners, shunning the world as it seemed, while there was one group of three in one of these corners, that Kenneth had notticed. One man looked similar to Cadis, and remembered Cadis telling him that there was another of Cadis's kind in the guild. With deduction, he figured that man was him. Next to him was two girls, one with her arm around the other. He couldn't figure out who was who so he moved on to the next person. Another girl was in a seperate corner, watching everything, seeming like she was waiting for something or someone. Finally he turned to the interesting man next to him. He was quiet, execpt he was making strange noises that seemed to have been coming from inside his body. Kenneth stared at him for a while beofre turning his attention back to the girl, who reminded Kenneth of a thief who robbed him of his gold a week back.
The setting changes from Remnant Castle to Multiverse
She heard a few words being spoken and then she felt a tap on the head and returned to reality. Someone... was talking to her? What did she do wrong? Oh gosh... It must be about the cupcake. She looked up at the man before realizing how good looking he was. She stared at the floor again because she was embarrassed. She blushed and she was being scolded. What is going on? Why am I-
She felt a set of claws land on her head and she froze. What the heck was this? She slowly reached up to grab the thing on her head, but she didn't touch anything. "Oh wow, that's good. You have great taste sweetheart. Here, try it." She suddenly realized that someone was sitting right next to her. She backed away a little. "Wh-When did you get here?!" She stared at all the people standing around her. Am I really drawing that much of a crowd? She tried her best not to draw any more attention.
She suddenly saw a woman coming over toward them. "If you didn't catch it already, my name is Elyssa Massey." She looked at her and then looked at all the others around her. She really was drawing a crowd! She needed some way to escape... She wasn't a very good socializer. She needed some way to distract them for only a se-.
She heard a large "boom" that resounded throughout the room. This was her chance! Now that everyone was pre-occupied looking at that, she could finally escape into her own little private area. She stood up and started to run before she suddenly realized that she was running pointlessly. She would have to meet all of them at some point. She looked back at another girl a corner of the room. She looked... interesting. Despite all the attention that was given to her, she ignored it. She walked over to a girl sitting alone by herself who had blue-ish skin.
She silently stood next to her before she looked her in the eye. "U-Um... Hello... I... Guess I should introduce myself. I-I'm Rose... Rose Minami." She pulled off a slight smile which really only made the situation a little more awkward. She laughed awkwardly. So awkward...

βAnd has anyone told you that you have a simply delightful sense of sarcasm that is almost too good?β And believe me, Raziel didnβt even try to sugarcoat his tone with her. If it hadnβt already been affirmed at this point, his loathing for people went unrivaled. Quite frankly he didnβt like anyone, and was only doing what he had to in order to survive. All the same he had not a shadow of a doubt that he was by far the most powerful warrior in all the castle; a statement he was more than willing to support for anyone foolish enough to put it to the test. βAlways the one to make sure everyoneβs taken care of, arenβt you? So sweet. Iβd shed a tear but I forget I donβt have the heart to.β That was less of a joke that he made it out to be. If he did have a heart, it was encased in ice, and full of only darkness and decay.
βKeep in mind that too much of a good thing can be bad for you. Just a bit of advice.β A sinister Cheshire grin overcame him as he winked and stepped back into the shadows, disappearing. The chamber was full of children who knew nothing of the horrors they would have to endure. Getting their hands on the crystal wasnβt going to be easy because there was a force working in the world that was more powerful than they could even imagine.

"Cryptic," she told herself before she shrugged. She ran a hand through her chestnut locks, dislodging a few feathers from her down that drifted down to the floor. "Wonder if Cad told him we're all on the same team... Too much of a good thing can be bad for you, bluh, bluh, bluh I'm a big mad sourpuss and I hate life, bluh," She imitated before breaking into a fit of laughter. If someone like him got her down after only a few nasty words, then she probably wouldn't be able to get out of bed in the morning. Unlike others she could mention, she was rather fond of social interaction. She let go of an exaggerated yawn and leaned backward on her hands, giving another scan of the room.
The good news, people were finally seeming to mingle, after finally emerging from whatever shadows they clung too. Scanning once more, though more at the room than any specific person, she spoke to herself again. "Note to self," she began. "Talk to Cad about installing more lights. Too many shadows to hide in. Also really makes this place depressing." With a warm smile spread across her lips, she rocked forward and rose to her feet. Rolling her shoulders and straightening her limbs issued a few stubborn pops and cracks, and once she was done stretching, threw her arms behind herself and held her hands together, spinning on a heel and making her way back to the heart of the room.
Every step she took was punctuated with a tap thanks to the talons she had for toes, so obviously she had a little fun with it. She clicked a tune with her nails as she crossed the chamber, unabashedly spinning in quick little circles as she did. Sure, people were probably watching, but Tilly wasn't the type to care overly much. At worst, they could think she was silly, and she was okay with that. A few dozen taps and a couple of spins later, she came to where she began, the banister at the base of the stairs. Taking a hold of the railing, she lifted herself up and planted herself in the nook where it it both ended and began, in clear view of everyone.
Her hand went back to her hair and found a wayward feather, of which she placed the tip in her mouth and began to chew. She was in no hurry, if someone wanted to get to know her, then she would freely share, but neither would she force herself upon anyone. Not after her first attempt resulted in an escapee and a sourpuss. No, Tilly was nothing if not patient, she'd wait for her prey to come to her.

The woman he had chosen to stand beside seemed friendly, though her wording confused him. She wasn't going to bite him? Was that something humans did? Why... would she even consider biting him? It didn't take long for the girl to introduce herself, though another replied in his stead, so he allowed the matter to drop. His attention was taken to a different place entirely, as he watched a fellow comrade face-plant midsentence. Falling seemed to be a very habitual thing around here. His embarrassment was etched upon his face, though he certainly attempted to reel it back in as he approached the snack table.
Elyssa Massey turned to the male who had tripped. "What profound grace. You must be our resident ballerina." The statement confused the machination. He had not been graceful in the slightest. Why was she telling him so? And, Obadiah was certain that no ballerina had been enlisted into the guild. And he went as far to agree with her, thanking her for recognizing his potential. Humans... so strange and illogical.
The man introduced himself as Kenneth Maldrough, his name going into Obadiah's mental storage compartment, along with Elyssa's. He asked her for her name, Obadiah staying out of it, despite being in the conversation as well. He merely stood there, seeing as he had not been directly asked a question. He did not need to answer.
His tense stance would have been profoundly awkward if any human had tried to mimic it, but he held it well. He was at a seemingly permanent attention position, though it came across as somewhat casual. He noticed Kenneth look at him, possibly because of the loud, whirring sounds emitting from his machinery. However, he did not hold a stare long, his green eyes flickering back to Elyssa.
Obadiah attempted to add to the conversation, though he should have kept his mouth shut. "How long have you been a ballerina, Kenneth? You may need to keep practicing..." he asked, with a deadpan delivery. Though he was serious, his words could have been easily mistaken as a joke, for whom in their right mind would have taken their earlier conversation literally? Answer: Obadiah, who now eagerly awaited the intriguing story of how a male ballerina joined the guild.
The boy turned his attention from the food table to Elyssa and chuckled at her comment. "At one point before I came here, I thought I would become a ballerina, I'm glad to see some one saw the potential in me, I'm Kenneth Maldrough, who might you be?"
Elyssa chuckled at the smooth response, props to Kenneth for being able to joke after such an embarrassment. "Your form could use some work but other than that I'd say you're a real prodigy, Kenneth Maldrough. The name's Elyssa Massey, scout and thief extraordinaire." She flashed him a wicked grin and stuck her dagger between her teeth to free up her hand to offer it for him to shake.
Looking at the boy's face, Elyssa couldn't help but feel as though she recognized him from somewhere. She tried to figure out where when Obadiah's voice brought her attention to him, "How long have you been a ballerina, Kenneth? You may need to keep practicing..." Elyssa's smile faltered as she studied the machination's face which bore no trace of sarcasm. At the discovery that Obadiah had taken her conversation with the newbie seriously Elyssa couldn't help but bust up laughing.
"We were being sarcastic, Obadiah. Geez, you must be fun at parties." Realizing that the last statement could also be taken seriously, Elyssa quickly added: "That was also sarcasm."
She looked back over at Kenneth and the realization hit her. She snapped her fingers and pointed at the newbie, "you're the guy I cornered and got some gold off of a week ago, aren't you? Huh, small world. You won't be wanting that back, will you?" The question was rhetorical, of course, and the thief slid her hand onto the hilt of her dagger to make sure Kenneth got the message as well.
He chuckled at Obadiah's comment and Elyssa's response, He already found her to be rather funny. He was going to shake her hand when she mentioned the gold she stolen from him not too long ago. He squinted at her for little while before also noticing the similarities in the thief that stole from him. Being completely oblivious to her grabbing the hilt of her knife, as he is mainly oblivious to a lot of signs, he sighed and responded, taking the question seriously.
"Yes, I would really like my money back, if you so please.."
Reading his face you could easily tell that he wasn't joking, and could even be thought of a determined "ready to fight" kind of look, even though he just has a stern face on.
Malthred had entered the hall a little later than the others, lightly dusting his hands of soot as best he could having not long finished work down in the forge within the fortress. The stirring speech by their leader had made him chuckle, even more so as he stared out over the other members of, what he could perhaps call his new clan look at each other a little strangely before attempting their best to get to know one another. The giant's mouth curled slightly into a faint grin as the tables, food and drink began to filter in, but most importantly the drink. Slowly and purposefully he made his way towards where they were setting up the barrels of ale and plates of sweet-meats; nodding in greeting to the servants he hefted a barrel over one shoulder and lifted a couple of plates worth of meat and bread with his other hand before settling himself down in an empty corner of the hall. The loud boom of the barrel landing on the marbled floor seemed to gather peoples attention for a moment before they returned to their own affairs.
"Can't beat a good bit of ale after a days toil." He muttered to himself as he tapped open the key and began to fill his tankard slowly, taking his time so as not to spill much if he could. After having taken a rather large swig of the golden liquid he started to devour he way through the food he'd placed in front of him. While he actions were methodical there was still a somewhat 'uncivilised' feel about the man tearing the bread and meat apart with his teeth in a faintly feral manner.
Despite his appearance of ignoring the others his eyes were carefully moving between each of the others, eyeing them up and gauging their strengths and weaknesses as best he could tell from a lack of action or showmanship of their part. Sometimes he rather simple first impression allowed him a slight edge towards those he didn't know him which was just how he liked it. Better to stack the deck that way after all.

But yes, I'll have a gander at what people have so far and read over the posts upto now and get something sent in.
Edit
And since I appear to have missed it somewhere, Deer or Snake would be my animal choice however I am partial to Wolves.

Re: Remnant
In all seriousness, he got it right. Known him since he was 14 and I was...12? It's been 5+ years, lol. Sorry for the confusion, I was tired and couldn't remember his username here. Although I am pretty sure that Bren told me I could use his real name, so.
Don't feel pressure by my real name use! Obviously if you don't feel comfortable giving out your first name, then don't. I'm just more known by my real name than Kagerou or marifisco (which are the two usernames I use online). I will post by tonight.

Re: Remnant
I'm still interested in this, I've just been waiting for others to post before I do so it's not just a conversation between Kenneth and Elyssa.
also, this is probably a dumb question but, who's Brendan?
