0 · 232 views · located in Barren lands

a character in “Restoration”, as played by pipzel

Description

Age: 13
Lara stands at 4'10" and is of a medium build. She has short light brown hair and a fairly pale complexion. She has relatively small features that include her nose, lips and hands. Generally she wears long black dresses with silky black gloves.

Personality

Lara is very bubbly, talkative and energetic. Also she is very welcoming to new people. Plus she is extremely loving and kind to everyone, even and especially her siblings. As well as this she is very protective of her family and her friends, so if anyone insults them she will start a fight. Since she knows both judo and karate, and practices them all the time, she is very good at that. In class she does exceedingly well at most subjects, especially science though she doesn't do too well in geography or history.

Equipment

A small penknife and a music box given to her by her parents on her 4th birthday. This is all carried in her backpack which also contains some school textbooks along with some sweets.

So begins...

Gently, Lara began to open her eyes but immediately felt a sharp pain in her leg and chest. "Oww..." she groaned weakly, while trying to sit up. The floor was covered in dust and the remains of old furniture and books. As Lara felt her head, she noticed scratches all over her arms and a large cut on her forehead. "What the...?" she began to say, before widening her eyes at the site she saw through the window. Quickly she got up, ignoring the pain, and walked over to the shattered window. Outside the ground was covered with ruin, and here and there a few fires flickered distantly. But, possibly worst of all, everywhere Lara looked there were strange creatures that looked like giant woodlice and snake-men wielding metal whips.
Suddenly Lara remembered her family so she rushed over to her siblings and gently shook them, one by one while whispering their names. "Please don't die." she said in the end. "I can't survive here without you." There were tears in her eyes just at the thought that her parents and friends seemed to have been killed, and her brothers and sisters might die soon too.

Rin opened her eyes at the feeling of being shaken, her body instantly causing her pain, but she kept a blank face. She sat up slowly and looked around a little. This..isn't this our house.. She thought to herself as she continued to examine the room. Everything is dusty and broken..where are all the furniture and the coffee table and the television? It was dark as if the sun was just setting and the dust hung lightly in the air, making it a little hard to breath. She looked over at her little sister, who looked very scared and her dark eyes seemed to be watering. Her body was covered in bruises and scratches as well as her own. There was a particular cut on her right shin that looked like it had been bleeding for a while before it finally stopped and crusted over, though her white sock was died red-ish brown from the blood. "Did something happen.." Rin said, her voice flat and her face expressionless. "Are you alright?"

"I..I.don't know." stuttered Lara. "My leg hurts and so does my chest plus I'm covered in cuts and bruises. What about you? That cut on your shin looks bad. It could get infected." She tried to smile up at Rin but her face trembled with worry and fear. "Oh, and you may wanna look out the window." whispered Lara, as she wiped her eyes with the end of her sleeve. After that she crawled over to the other three and shook them again.

"Ten more minutes.." Tyrin mumbled, feeling someone shake him. He was wondering why his body felt so sore and whatever he was laying on was definitely not his bed. He opened his eyes to see he was laying on what seemed like the floor of their living room and then turned his head to see Lara was the one who had shook him. He sat up slowly, realizing his elbows were scraped and he felt a sting as if he had a cut under his left eye. His knees were also sore and he figured they were scraped as well, though you couldn't see under his jeans. He looked around, a little confused as to what was going on and why their house looked like it had just been through hell. He turned his head back to Lara and sat up a little more. "Where's my bed at.." He asked, rubbing his head. "And what the hell happened to the house..and the lights..and everything else." His voice was a little softer than usual because he had a throbbing headache and he was a little confused. Not to mention he was never very lively after first being woken up.

Rin looked over to the small window and, standing up, walked over to it to look out. She instantly dropped back to her knees as she caught a glimpse of what was there so not to be seen, which caused her knees to start throbbing. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she examined the view. A dark red sky, the houses around her neighborhood burned down and in ruin, the street and sidewalk cracked and pulled out of the ground and the street light toppled over. Glass and garbage was scattered across the ground all over and a few pipes sprouted from the ground, spilling out mucky water. Then there were those beasts. Only a couple of them outside and not very close to the house, but that didn't matter, they were still there. Giant mutated bugs?, she thought to herself, greatly relieved they were not giant spiders. Then there was the one who had a body of a snake but the torso of a man with red eyes, long hair, and fangs. What is going on here...? She thought to herself, then turned to see that Their youngest brother had woken up. She glanced out the window one more time before crawling over to Lara and Tyrin. She looked at the boys face for a moment before licking the end of her pointer finger, then softly rubbing it over a cut on Tyrin's cheek. "You're bleeding." She said blankly as she rubbed the blood away.

Tyrin lightly smacked Rins hand away and glared at her. "Cut it out I'm not a baby!" he said a little loudly. He tried stood up to brush himself off only to find his legs to be really shaky and, taking a step back, he fell back down onto his bottom, causing a cloud of dust to rise for a few moment before it faded away. He blushed a little at the embarrassment, then rubbed his cheek with his wrist and looked around. "Where's Sacara and Asher?" He asked asked, then noticed the two lying on the ground not too far off from themselves. He then turned his head to Lara. "What happened to everyone? Were you guys passed out too?" He said curiously, though a little worried.

As Sacara wiped her wounds, Lara held her breath at the stinging pain it caused. "Don't worry about being unconscious." she said, smiling wryly. "After all, you can't help it." Then she shuffled away from Sacara and crawled over to Asher, who still wan't awake. "Asher!" whispered Lara, once again shaking her older brother. "Asher, wake up!"
Sighing, she got up and began searching around the house, to see if she could scavenge anything from the wreck of their house. Whilst upstairs she suddenly shouted, "Yes! It's here!" Picking up her school bag, she began running before sliding down the banister and landing softly back in the living room. "Look, I found it!" she said gleefully, kneeling down on the ground and beginning to rummage around in the bag. "Now let's see...boring textbooks, my penknife and my music box!" Smiling, she began to turn the handle before opening it up and watching the ballerina spin around as the music gently played.

Rin pulled her hand back and looked at Ty blankly, then watched as he tried to stand up but failed and fell back down. After that Sacara woke up and started freaking out over being unconscious and Lara's wounds. Typical Sacara. She though to herself, a faint yet almost invisible smile appearing on her face. She stood up and brushed herself off as Lara began rummaging through there mess of a house and decided to walk around herself. Everything seemed so dull and grey and dust covered everything as if they had been laying there for years. But, that couldn't be possible or they would all be dead by now. Rin pulled the blue piggy tail off of her wrist and pulled her hair up into the usual half-pony tail, then pulled a blue ribbon out of her pocket and tied it into a bow around the piggy tail. After that she reached her hands up and gave a small yawn as Lara slid down the stairway banister and began to talk about something she found. She walked over to her sister and knelt down to see her open a music box, causing the ballerina to spin around and play a beautiful little tune. Rin's eyes lazily narrowed a little at the soft music. She was happy that not everything in the house was destroyed and wondered if her room was still intact. It would be nice if her keyboard was still in her closet where she had unplugged and left it before. Of course, she didn't believe there was any electricity anymore because the power lines outside had all be broken and fallen over. "It's pretty." She said softly and gently poked the little ballerina inside of the box.

Asher hazily opened his eyes and brought up a hand to rub them. He heard his sister's words barely reaching him through sleep and started to wake up, bending to her commands. He groaned, exhausted for some reason. Probably because of basketball yesterday against their biggest rivals. That had been a pretty rough match. "Isn't this usually the other way around? I'm usually the one waking you up." He let himself grin lightly before blinking into full focus and groggily letting himself prop up onto his elbow. "What's wrong, the house on fire?" he joked.

And then he looked outside.

The smile faded off of his face as he saw the fiery red sky and burnt ruins that marked where houses once stood. And then he realized that he wasn't in his soft, warm bed, he was laying on the cold, barren ground, surrounded by his siblings. "W-wait, what's going on here?" he asked. What the hell was happening? Was this a dream? He looked closer at his family and noticed that they were all battered and bleeding, in rough shape from God only knows what. He shot up quickly, wincing at a pain that he felt on his side. Of course, he wasn't too worried about that. It was probably from his...session last night. If it was last night.

He ran to Tyrin, who was closest to him, and leaned over him. "Bro, are you okay?" He looked at his wounds and winced again, letting his hand gently touch a scrape on Ty's arm. Pain was nothing to him. But when he saw the blood of his siblings, he cringed. He looked to Sacara after checking on him. "How about you? Are you in pain?" He was about to shout for Lara. He knew that she woke him up, but then where did she go? Then he heard the sound of a music box singing lightly below them and sighed. She was just downstairs. Luckily, he had seen Rin disappearing down the stairs, otherwise he would have freaked out. He couldn't stand the thought of losing one of them somehow.

"Do you guys know how long we were out?" He bit his lip in frustration. He should have been awake first to try and figure out what was going on. What a useless big brother he was. He swallowed the little trickle of blood that came out and looked down at his arms which had some dry blood on them. But was that from him or whatever had caused this? He had no idea. He shook Tyrin's hair in his familiar annoying big brother way and stood back up. "I'll go see if I can find a towel or something to clean ourselves up with," he said and started walking towards the bathroom of what he hoped was their home.

"I'm fine.." Tyrin said in an irritated voice. "You should check yourself out if anything. You were past out the longest." The boy said, attempting to stand up again and this time he kept his balance. "And anyway we have no clue what's going on." He said, then turned his head a little and blushed slightly as Asher ruffled Ty's hair. "I'm not a little kid ya' know..." He mumbled, then nodded as his brother mentioned looking for towels or something to clean them up with and went off down the hallway. Ty sighed and then dragged his feet downstairs where Rin and Lara were crouched in front of a music box. He reached the bottom of the stairs and then walked around the two girls to look at the little box. "Right and what's a stupid music box going to do for us?" He said, crossing his arms over his chest. "Typical girls.." he mumbled under his breath, then decided to take a look outside for himself. He hadn't gotten a chance to see the outside quite yet and he was curious.

He made his way to the living room window and peeked out, his eyes widening in shock and his mouth parting in a faint exhale. What the hell happened to the neighborhood!? He thought to himself and took a couple steps back, his legs feeling weak again and he found himself falling back onto his bottom. He stared at the ground, his legs shaking a little. He took a deep breath, then rose again and stumbled over to Lara and Rin. "Where's mom and dad?!" he questioned, his voice cracking a little as it shook. "What's going on. What happened? Where's mom and dad. Do you guys know? We gotta search the house or something they'll know what to do!" Tyrin couldn't hide it. He was scared, worried, and very confused at what was happening.

"Careful..." whispered Lara as Rin poked the ballerina. As she heard the sound of her eldest brother talking, she smiled to herself. At least they were all awake now, so they should probably have a little family meeting. You know, to discuss the terrible tragedy that had just occurred.
Suddenly a voice distracted Laras' thought pattern. "Right and what's a stupid music box going to do for us?" Tyrin asked, walking into the room.
Scowling up at her younger brother, Lara stated firmly, "Shut up, Ty! This box is special, OK?" Thankfully Tyrin then walked away to gaze out of the window, so the girls were left in peace.
However soon Tyrin rushed back to his sisters and said hurriedly, "Where's mum and dad?! What's going on. What happened? Where's mom and dad. Do you guys know? We gotta search the house or something they'll know what to do!" Immediately Lara felt guilty about scowling at him so she hugged him, even though she knew Ty might not enjoy it.
"I don't know. Our parents have probably gone, they're probably dead." she mumbled, still clinging onto her younger brother. "Now wait there."
Following this Lara ran off to find her other 2 siblings. "Guys can you come downstairs please?" she asked, trying her best to smile. "I think we all need to have a chat." Gently she helped Sacara up off the ground and held her hand as they ambled off. Hopefully Asher would have heard her too, so he would come too.

((Lol iz OKayyy!! ^^))

Tyrin flinched a little as Lara stood up and hugged him, making it harder to hold back tears that were about to fall from his eyes. No way am I crying like a little kid!He thought to himself. Barely hearing Lara as she spoke to him, then told him to wait there. He watched his sister go up the stairs. "Dead..." He whispered ever-so-silently, then turned and looked at Rin, who was still poking the dancing ballerina with the faintest smile on her face. He had always thought Rin was a little weird, and when he was a lot younger he used to run around calling her a robot because, well, that's what he thought she acted like. He looked down at the ground for a minute, swallowing roughly, before sitting down on the dusty floor criss-cross style and then spacing out a little as he watched the ballerina dance in circles. "Are all of you alright? I mean, can all of you walk by yourselves?" He heard the voice of Sacara, sounding really worried, as she came downstairs. He expected Asher to still be looking for towels or something to clean themselves up. Though, a med kit would be better. "Yea whatever we're fine." He mumbled, glancing up at her, then back at the ground. Mom and dad..dead.. He thought to himself, his eyes saddening a little.

When Asher found his way to the bathroom following the same familiar path as before, he knew he was home. But he still just couldn't believe it. It was barren, dusty, and dirty. There were no signs that showed that anyone had ever live here, save for a couple of human odds and ends. But it looked so different than what it had been the last time he was awake. It was impossible.

He sighed when he found the bathroom empty except for the bathtub and walked across to what he hoped was his room. He guessed it was, the same size, same shape, but like the rest of the house it was empty. He looked in the closet and grinned. There was a large, white sheet that looked mostly clean. They could use it as bandages and maybe even as a towel, if they could find some water, to clean themeselves. It made him happy that he could be useful to his siblings. It was his way of making up for not being there when they woke up, to play the nurse.

Soon, he heard Lara's voice calling out. "Coming, sis!" He walked out of the room, a little saddened by memories of how beautiful and light it was before, and walked towards the stairs where he figured they had all gone to. When he got down them, he looked at his family. They all looked so tired and even Tyrin looked bothered by all that was going on. So he forced a smile on his face and said playfully, "Hey, guys, why so glum?"

"I found this." He held up the sheet. "We can make some bandages. I know it's not great, and it's probably not sterile, but it's better than nothing, right?" Of course, he also had a hidden motive. He let his eyes drift to his exposed wrists, saw the hills and rifts of scars that showed through the little bit of blood. They would probably say something about it if they saw them, especially Sacara, because there was no way that whatever happened to them could have caused them. He wanted to cover them up and keep himself hidden from outside eyes.

"But before we do anything, I think we need to have a big group hug, huh? Lift our spirits a bit? Come on, where's the love, guys?" He held out his long arms wide and let a goofy smile fall on his face.

Rin stood up from where she was kneeling and looked at Sacara, her faint smile turning back to her emotionless expression as she nodded and gave a faint "Yes." as the answer to her older sisters question. Though, Sacara also looked a little beat up herself. Rin knew she probably wouldn't pay too much attention to her own wounds and didn't bother to say anything about it. She was also worried about Ty. She could tell he was on the verge of crying but was firmly keeping it in. She had never really found much of a reason to cry before. When she was very little, she used to cry all the time, constantly bothering her older sister about it. Till' one day her father gave her a long talking to about acting more mature and that her constant crying was starting to worry her mother. So Rin had stopped showing any kind of emotion all together. She would smile sometimes or frown but she didn't find showing what she actually felt like would solve anything. She turned her head to watch her older brother come downstairs with what seemed like a white sheet in his hands and asking why everyone was so glum.

"I found this. We can make some bandages. I know it's not great, and it's probably not sterile, but it's better than nothing, right?"

He said and she looked down at the sheet in his hands. She thought it was a great idea. The cut on her right shin was starting to bleed a little after walking around and breaking the scab open again. It stung really bad and her knees and elbows were scraped up too. Though he was probably right about it not being sterile, he was also right that it was better than doing nothing. Rin blinked as she noticed something else on Asher's arms that didn't look like they were just recently made, but she decided not to say anything about it. It wasn't any of her business so sh chose not to say anything about it. When Asher opened his arms for a hug, she almost laughed at the goofy smile he had but kept her face blank as she walked up and hugged him.

Silently Lara nodded at Rins' question, before closing the music box gently. Then she heard the loud footsteps of her older brother, who arrived with a white sheet. "I found this. We can make some bandages. I know it's not great, and it's probably not sterile, but it's better than nothing, right?" he said. "But before we do anything, I think we need to have a big group hug, huh? Lift our spirits a bit? Come on, where's the love, guys?" Laughing at Ashers' goofy grin, Lara stood up and joined the hug. She breathed in the familiar scent of her siblings, then let go and returned to her music box. After stroking it's mahogany outer case, she placed it carefully back in her bag which she then zipped up.
Then she gazed out the window.
Too frightened even to speak, Lara widened her eyes. Suddenly she heard a strange wail echo about the house, and a loathsome sensation came over her body. Automatically she slung her school bag over her shoulder and stood up. Since her eyes were still fixed at the horrid scaly creature that stood outside the window, she averted her gaze and semi-snapped out of the trance she was in. "R...Run!" she abruptly screamed at her siblings who had no idea of the danger they were in.
As the eerie yet high-pitched moan echoed throughout the house, Lara put a hand to her now throbbing head. But she couldn't stop for a moment. For now, she had to run. Pain flaring through her mind, Lara raced towards the window opposite this gruesome creature, before opening it and leaping out. In any other circumstances, she would've put her siblings before herself, therefore making sure they were OK and pulling them along with her. However this...this felt different. There was an urge deep inside her telling her to run as fast as she could as far as she could. So that's what she did.
Eventually, after leaping over ruins, sliding under fences and barging through bushes, Lara came to a fabulous forest. Strangely, although she knew the town exceedingly well, she had never come across these woods. Hiding behind a beautiful beech tree, she bent over and panted heavily, exhausted after the lightning fast sprint. Once she had got her breath back, Lara gazed up at the canopy of verdant trees. Unusually, the evil that she had felt consume her thoughts had now disappeared. As soon as she had entered this seemingly magical forest the urge to run had ceased.
'You know, we could make this our base.' thought Lara as she inspected this new wonderland. She heard the sounds of a trickling stream, birds singing sweet songs and the wind whistling gently. While she breathed in the fresh woodland air, which made a change to the smoky fumes of the burning city, she felt the breeze against her skin. 'Yeah, we could definitely make this our settlement.'

Rin stepped out of the hug, keeping her faint smile on her face and noticing Tyrin hadn't hugged Asher. That didn't really surprise her all that much though. She couldn't really remember when it started but Ty was always so 'tough guy' all the time. Still, Rin was just glad that their family was all together while it was a good chance their parents were dead. Suddenly there was a loud, wailing sound that echoed throughout the house. Rin let out a small gasp and she took a step back, though the rest of her body froze for a moment as she turned her head to the window and saw what was outside. She heard Lara scream and then dash for the window as Sacara screeched for everyone to get out. Rin hardly knew what to do in this situation. She didn't have any time to think. Rin reached forward and grabbed Tyrins wrist, her protective older sister personality kicking in for a split second, then rushed to the window where Lara had retreated. She stopped at the window, still holding onto Tyrins wrist as she turned around. "Hurry!" She yelled, raising her voice for the first time in a long time. She didn't really know what else to say at that moment. Her heart was raising and she was hardly keeping her knees from buckling under her and making her collapse onto the ground. The only thing she could think right now was that they had to get out. Lara must've already been dashing halfway down the street by now and they needed to catch up with her. They had to stay together. "Now!" She yelled, though not really screaming.

Tyrin looked up from where he was sitting as his brother came down the stairs holding up a sheet. "I found this. We can make some bandages. I know it's not great, and it's probably not sterile, but it's better than nothing, right?" His brother was right, it was better than nothing. Though Tyrin didn't really have any serious wounds, mostly just scrapes and a few bruises, but he could see his other siblings needed it. Rin had a particular gash on her shin that still looked like it was bleeding a little. When everyone went over to hug Asher after his casually little talk about a group hug and love, Tyrin stood up and took a couple of steps away from them. "No way, you guys can have you little group hug but I'm not hugging any of you weirdos." He said, turning away from them and crossing his arms of this chest.

Just as the hug was starting to break apart, a loud wail erupted about the house and Tyrin jumped and nearly tripped at the sound. He watched as Lara made a dash for the window, screaming at them to run. Then Sacara, clearly wanting to follow Lara but staying in the house with the others, also yell for everyone to get out of the house. Tyrin just stood there, frozen in shock and not really knowing how to react. He felt a hand clutch his wrist and noticed Rin had grabbed onto him and in a few seconds she had pulled him over to the window that Lara had jumped out of before turning and yelling for the others to hurry. Rin actually yelled? He was truly amazed, but when he caught a glimps of what was outside of the window on the other side of the house, he completely understood the situation. Yet, could couldn't really find the nerve to yell out like the others.

Asher grinned happily when everybody joined in his love-fest. It was nice to have somebody to hold onto when his whole world was changing. To be honest, he wanted to feel like they were real and not just a part of a dream he was creating. He wanted to make sure that he wasn't alone here. He pouted at his little brother when he refused to get in the huddle with the rest of them and stood with a hand on his hip, contemplating the best way to tackle him and force him into a hug. Sometimes, he felt like the stereotypical version of what a big brother was like, but he was alright with that. It was funny to tease and torment his siblings from time to time. It was his job.

Of course, he was quickly interupted by the blood-curdling noise that escaped his sister's lips. His blue eyes followed her gaping ones to the window and saw what was making her now run from the house: the giant snake-like monster that was outside of the window, peering in at them. He could see a hungry look in its eyes, almost see the venom dripping from its fangs. It was disgusting, something out of a horror film. And it terrified him. He felt like he should run after Lara, but she was long gone, and his other siblings were still inside. He noticed as Sacara stopped, clearly reluctantly, and glanced towards them. Stupid girl! He knew how much she worried about them, just like their mother had. But they could be in danger, and she was still putting them first! It was okay if he did, he was a guy. And besides, he could handle a couple more scratches. Cuts were nothing, if he had to fight the monster off. And he was the oldest, it was his job. He ran up beside his sister and stood firmly with her, watching as Rin and Tyrin got out before looking her in the eyes and shouting, "Go!" as he shoved--probably more forcefully than necessary--out the window. When he made sure everybody was out, he grabbed the sheet and took one last look at the monster that had disturbed them before jumping out the window and taking off himself.

At the sound of someone else in the forest, Lara immediately turned around to see if there was any danger. However she was totally and utterly relieved to see Sacara coming up and hugging her. Smiling, Lara squeezed her sister tight before letting go. "Oh Lara, thank goodness you're alright..." said Sacara, who then loosened her grip on Lara. "But do you know where your siblings are?" At that point Laras' smile faded, as she shook her head miserably.
"No..." she muttered in a slightly worried tone, staring up into her sisters desperate eyes. "I...I thought they were with you." Quickly she stood up and walked over to the entrance of the forest, where she stared out at the distant ruins in order to seek her siblings. But, due to the smoke filled air covering the city, Lara could not spot her treasured brothers and sister. Then she turned back round, and looked at Sacara once again. "Well, at least you're okay. We'll just have to have faith that the others will be fine too." She smiled a smile of hope, before reaching out to hold her sisters hand.

Hearing voices, Lara got up and walked out from behind the tree cautiously. As soon as she saw her siblings though, she ran over and dived at them, grinning. "Ty, Asher, Rin!" she yelled, looking at them. "Thank god you're okay! I was worried you might not reach us, I was scared that you might get lost." Gently she hugged each one of them in turn, including Tyrin, whose hair she also ruffled. Then she beckoned over to Sacara and called, "Come on, Sacara! The others have got here!" After that she turned back to the rest of her siblings and spoke in a nosy voice. "So...what have you guys been talking about?"
At that point it seemed that Lara had forgotten all about the terrible tragedy occurred, she had just slipped into her own world where everything was okay. Because right now, all she cared about was the fact that her siblings were safe. She wriggled around, getting comfy on the carpet of leaves, before getting into a cross-legged position and fiddling with the twigs and other plant-life on the floor.

((Sorry it's a bit short.))

Rin let her pointing hand rest at her side as Asher caught up to them. She stood their blankly as her older brother took off his shirt and, ripping off a few pieces, then wrapped the cloth around her bleeding knees. Scars.. She thought to herself as she caught a glimpse of Ashers side before he went over to check on Tyrin, who as usual rejected any help and then asked Asher where his scars came from, though she didn't really pay much attention to them afterwards. She turned her head back to the direction she thought the music was coming from and stared off into the distance. She nearly said something about it again but then she heard Lara's voice and looked over to see that Lara had come out of the blue and joined them, asking them what they were all talking about. She noticed that Lara actually looked pretty happy, despite the situation that they were in.

Shortly after Lara had joined them, Sacara dashed through the trees and instantly hugged them all, except for Lara. Rin gave a small hmph as Sacara hugged her a little too tight before moving on to Asher and then Tyrin.

"Rin! What happened to you? Can you still walk? It doesn't hurt too badly, does it?

Rin heard Sacara say and watched as her sister approached her looking a little distressed. Rin blinked a couple of times before looking down at her knees, then back up at her sister. "I fell. Yes, it does hurt, but I'm okay." She replied flatly, then turned her head back in the direction the music was coming from. It had died down shortly after Sacara seemed to notice it as well, though the others didn't seem all that interested in it. Rin looked around at her siblings, then up at the sky that seemed to be lightening as dawn approached rapidly before turning her head back to where she thought the music had come from and then lifted her had to point again. "Music." She said a little louder this time. "Someone else."

As she finishes her song, she twirls on the tip of the rock, and ends in a pose that usually has a partner. Her dress parted up the her thigh, and she pointed her elegant olive toe.
The animals, all cheered, and became anxious. Hopping up and down the beckoned her to sing again. She sat back down in the protruding rock, and pulled her legs up to her chin. Trailing behind her was the long sable braid, dangling just above the water's surface. Resting her head on her chin, and curling her toes on the rock's edge she wondered, Is there anyone out there for me...
It was spring in the forest, and the animals were all pairing up and everything was bursting with life. Every year Zeta simply watched, wishing she had someone of her own. Her gate was solemn as she descended the rock "You want me to sing another song?"
The animals all cheered, watching as her face saddened, they stopped. The tone of the forest reflected her, the tree branches seemed lethargic, and the leaves drooped. The wind almost sounded like music as it whipped through the branches.

As she sings, she begins dancing around the lake. Her long legs carry her gracefully, her toes pointed and poised. She moves with the music, and bellows out the tune at the top of her lungs. Singing with all her loneliness, teardrops form in her eyes.
Her gaze looks out to the forest, for no particular reason she feels as if someone is listening to her, shaking off the feeling she continues her song.
Her voice is hypnotic, beckoning and echoing through the forest. The tree's sway with her voice, dancing in the wind.

Asher almost sighed when Tyrin said he was fine. He looked okay, but there were bound to be some cuts or scrapes to cover up. He would never accept Asher's help anyways. Regardless of what his brother said, he licked his shirt and wiped off a bit of dried blood anyways as Tyrin asked him a question that Asher dreaded to hear: "Hey, Asher, where did ya get those scars from? The one's on your side." It caught the blue-haired boy off guard, and he diverted his eyes to his side as if it was the first time he had ever seen them before. Of course, it was just because he was surprised that Ty had noticed, and was so immersed in what was going on that he had almost forgotten them, but he tried to play it off like he hadn't noticed them before. He only let himself hesitate for a split second and swallowed a lump in his throat. How could I have been so stupid to forget that? he scolded himself. That deserved a cut. He tried to convince himself that it was because he had to help his little sister, but he was still really mad at himself. But he looked back up at his brother, hoping that he wouldn't be able to see the pale face that he wore in the dim light, and just said, "Huh, I don't know. I guess just from whatever happened to us last night." Then he used Ty's shoulder to stand himself up and gave a huge smile.

"Those were some pretty awesome moves you had back there," he said to quickly get the conversation away from him, and teasing Tyrin after seeing him blush. "Didn't think you had it in you to play the chivalrous one." He let out a light laugh but then stopped and looked to the side. He heard leaves rustling, and being in a forest that shouldn't exist put him on edge. It could be anything, maybe even that snake that they saw earlier. He took a step forward to put himself in between the new threat and his siblings. But then he saw a small figure come out from the trees and sighed in relief. It was just Lara. She came and hugged them all--Asher picked her up when she hugged him--before sitting down and asking what they were talking about. "Oh you know, how nice the weather is and all that jazz," he answered with a grin. Sacara immediately followed her and did the same, of course booting up into mother phase when she saw Rin's knees. But then she said something about music, and Asher remembered that Rin had said something about that, which she did once more.

Asher listened closely and finally heard what they were talking about. It was a beautiful sound that even the forest seemed to listen to, he noticed, as everything was quiet apart from the voice. "Well guys, I don't know about you, but I'm curious." He took a step in the direction he heard it. "It sounds like it's coming from over there." He hesitated first though, noticing that it would be light soon, and tied two strips of cloth around his wrists. He could at least hide those scars and act like they were just cuts from whatever hell they had been through. Then he looked behind him and added mischeviously, "Who wants a piggy back ride from big brother?"
