Chris mentally kicked himself as he didn't look her in the eyes, blushing brightly as he rubbed the back of his neck. "U-Um... well..."




Joseph followed Jamison silently.

Jonathon picked out some books and walked over to a table to sit alone. Before reading though, he glanced around.
"I wont join any but... Ill look at some of the clubs... since Im here I guess" he sighed and slid the books into his backpack, he'd check them out later. He walked over to a few tables, just to read some fliers. He stopped at a table, it was for chess club.
A short guy with glasses was standing there, with a chess bored in front of him. "Hm..." Jonathon stared at the bored for a moment. "You gonna play?" the guy with glasses ask. "You make first move" Jonathon nodded.
The guy with glasses did. Jonathon smirked, and beat him in one turn. "Sorry, too good" he shrugged and walked off.
He was just being honest, he did find anything wrong with it.
As he walked he saw three familiar people in the corner of his eye. He looked over, it was Maria, Jamison, and Joseph.
He tapped his fingers at his sides for a moment, wondering if he should go over or not. He over-thinks things sometimes.

"I knew it was too good to be true," she shook her head, and a frown formed on her face. Karsey turned around, and she walked away, not looking back at Chris. She was taking slow steps, but she wasn't quite sure why... Maybe it was becuase she hoped Chris would act like a character from a romance novel, chasing after her, and pulling her into a hug, then kissing her passionately, pouring his heart out to her, but that was beyond too good to be true. That was the dumbest thought she'd ever had. That would never happen.

Then, she realized there was supposed to be some sort of club sign-up thing, but she really wanted to just go to her dorm room and think about what had just happened. Instead of doing either, she just sat on a bench that was against the wall in the hallway, and she let out a soft sigh. Chris was still close enough to see, he wasn't too far away.





"I already signed up for stuff last week. I mainly signed up for extra classes, not clubs and sports. I hate sports," Jamison told her.

"I tried doing basketball last year, my freshman year of college, and man it was horrible. I can't shoot hoops, not even if my life depended on it."

'Just do it' he thought and nodded confidently to himself. He walked over to the three and smiled. "Hey James, sorry we didn't get to finish our chat in the hallway with Sophia choking and all. Also um, sorry if Im interrupting" he laughed holding his arms.
"Hey Maria, Joseph..." he nodded.

"Sorry, uh, my shyness stuck with me I guess" he laughed and rubbed the back of his head. "I probably did seem rude back there." he chuckled and smiled to her.

Chris watched her and sighed. If I don't say something it's gonna fuck everything up. I've come this far, might as well come clean. He thought to himself and sighed. He walked over and sat next to Karsey. "Look, I'm sorry, I'm just not good at this... emotional stuff. But frankly, I was happy you said that about me because I've had a huge crush on you since high school..." He looked down nervously then turned his head away to hide his blush.




Joseph listened silently, smiling at the new arrivals.

"Jamison that devil always looks handsome" Jonathon joked around and laughed. He patted Maris shoulder back lightly.

"Look, I'm sorry, I'm just not good at this... emotional stuff. But frankly, I was happy you said that about me because I've had a huge crush on you since high school..."

Karsey's eyes widened, and she looked at him, "You're kidding, right?" If she weren't so surprised, she'd probably be smiling right now, but she wasn't sure if she should believe him. Karsey had a hard time believing that a guy could ever like her. Especially Chris Lightning. She figured he'd end up with Sophie Devero or something. Someone who wasn't a comepletely naive, hopeless romantic. But she liked him, too. There was no doubt about it. Sure, she liked Joseph a lot too, but he didn't seem to feel the same towards her.

"I've liked you since highschool, too. And for some reason, I'm afraid that you're just leading me on, and you're such a nice guy, so why would you do that? I mean, you're totally beautiful, and well, you're cooler than I am. Someone like Sophie Devero would belong with you, not me. I'm a naive, hopeless romantic, and you're a fun guy who knows how to make people laugh. You're the life of the party. Why would you like someone like me. Someone who has never even had her first kiss, a stupid girl who isn't even really that pretty," she rambled on, talking so fast that she had to take a few deep breaths after she had finished talking. This is what happens when she gets nervous, she rambles, and she messes everything up. And Karsey was pretty sure that everything she'd just said would make him lose his feelings for her.





Jamison smiled at Jonathan, "It's fine, don't worry about it," then he saw Sophia being hugged to death by one of those annoying, perky cheerleaders.

"I'll be back in a minute," he said to his friends, and he walked to Sophia, who was now standing by a bookshelf, "Hey, Soph," he smiled at her.

Jonathon nodded to Jamison as he walked off. He turned to Maria. "So how have things with you been lately then?" he asked and smiled brightly to her, trying to make conversation and not be awkward like usual.

"Hell yeah, totally!" he smiled brightly. "You definitely have the optimism to be one, and you definitely have the looks to be one" he chuckled. Then his face went blank. "I-I mean um, you know..." he chuckled awkwardly and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Do you want to be one?"

"Its crazy how you just bonded with them immediately.. I'm jealous" he joked and laughed. "I'm happy for you though! Think your gonna do good at tryouts?" he smiled brightly.

Jonathon broke out laughing. "Football? Yeah no" he chuckled and glanced down at her hand. "Um.... sports aren't my think" he shook his head softly and looked back up at her. "I mean maybe soccer I could be a goalie or something but" he shrugged. "I'm not the buffest guy ever" he raised and dropped his eyebrows. "Anyway, did they tell you when try outs are exactly?" he changed topic, he didn't want to be a downer.

Maria chuckled at his statement. "You seem athletic enough. If you try. " she smiled, trying to lighten his mood. "Anyway, um.. Yeah. They're Saturday. I mean, today's Monday, right?" She asked, kind of embarrassed.

"Todays Monday, correct" he laughed and rubbed his hand. He always liked talking to Maria, she made him laugh.
Even if they weren't that close. He would never have a chance with her though, even if he made her happy in return.

"Yeah sure" he smiled brightly. "I haven't gotten to see this place anyway, my idiot of a roommate" he rolled his eyes smiling

"No, my roommates name is Cory or something. He wouldn't let me out of the room until we finished our conversation" he rolled his eyes again. 'Who's you roommate?" he asked sliding his hands into his pockets as they walked.

"Oh your not too nice. I mean unless that's a good thing..." he furrowed his brows, and slung his arm around her shoulder in a friendly way. He shook his head. "But I feel the same way. Its nothing weird" he shrugged looking over at her. "Or in my opinion its nothing weird. So maybe Im wrong, because Im pretty weird. Or everything thinks that anyway" he rambled on, it was funny how he did that sometimes.

He sat down beside her. "Does that mean I was an asshole in high school?" he laughed jokingly. "Probably, Im not gonna lie" he shrugged still smiling like an idiot. "And um, if you were around me every second of the day you would think I was realllllly weird" he laughed.

"Well that's good, its nice to be known more as a gentleman than as a weirdo" he laughed "But Im doing stuff you probably wouldn't be very interested in" he shrugged. "Majoring in computer graphics technology and mathematics" he looked at her. "So mostly class that include coding and web design and such. I like trigonometry though" He nodded. "Before I put you to sleep with my boring nonsense what are you doing?" he laughed sweetly.
