[Michaline]

Michaline silently crept through the dense field of weeds that surrounded the building where she had once resided. It was so long ago, eight years now, since she had set her eyes on the place. A sly smile etched its way onto her face as she thought of what he would say if he knew she was alive. Eight years ago to the day they had decided she was useless. Eight years ago to the day they had drug her from the facility and left her to die. And now, eight years later, she would prove them wrong. She wasn't useless. She just was smart enough not to show them everything she could do, and then smart enough to survive.

She counted the guards. Eight of them, two at the front, two at the gate, one at the north tower, two at the south, and one scanning the field where she was now. This was almost too easy. Had she been less smart, she might have thought it was a trap. But she knew better. The man simply thought his little palace full of lab rats was impenetrable, and unreachable. On yet another count, she would prove him wrong.

She placed her left hand flat on the earth before her, reaching out and scanning what lay beneath the surface. There were over a hundred human corpses, no doubt the unlucky ones who did not survive the testing, as well as some freshly dead wolves; old, rotted corpses of things like birds and stray cats, and some others that were of little note. She closed her eyes, reaching out with her mind, her energy, and slowly, fifty of the human corpses, some only skeletons, others more fresh, began to claw their way to the surface, ready to do their masters' bidding, however unwilling they may be about it. She also rose a few of the wolves, and what she soon found out to be a long-since dead bear. The last thing she had rise was a bird, only a day or two dead, it's feathers slick with blood, one eye missing, and it's right foot at an odd angle. But it could still sly, and she could use it as surveillance. The bird took to the skies, and suddenly the cry went up. The guard who was scanning her hiding place had caught sight of the rising dead, and soon, it was nothing more than chaos abound.

The guards were screaming bloody murder as they shot their assailants, only to watch in horror as the dead just rose up and kept coming at a slow, yet steady, pace. With all the commotion, it was easy for Michaline to slip within the fence, and then inside the building through a ventilation shaft. She had once place in mind: The holding cells. By now, the guards outside would have already called for back-up, meaning the other children would be less-guarded, as well as aware that something was amiss.

It didn't take her long to find her old "home". Good old cell number eight. Hm, eight seemed to be her number it would seem. She shoved the vent open with her foot, and the cover clattered to the cell floor below with a crash. Seconds later, she dropped down into the cell, taking out a pocket knife, and picking the lock. The cell door swung open, and she took a quick glance around, counting seven teenagers in the cells, and one guard left, who was headed straight for her, gun in hand. Michaline barely heard a word he said, all she saw was a flicker of red around him, to which she placed both hands on the mans' shoulders, vaulted over him, turned, and snapped his neck cleanly. After he had fallen to the floor, dead, she glanced at the other kids again, and walked calmly to the end of the corridor, where the controls were. The press of one button, and then the cutting of a few wires, and the cameras were down all over the building, as the cells were all unlocked.

"Well, I'm sure you've all had a lovely time here, but I think it's time you all got going, don't you?"

Jazmyn Marie Blythe

It was just a normal day at the experiment laboratory. Jazz was one of the experiments. One day they would kill her with all their unpleasant tests. It wasn’t an uncommon thing there, death. Survival was difficult, but Jazz would prevail. It wasn’t as though she felt invincible. In fact, she knew how fragile her life was. She didn’t want to live life as a wandering spirit though. She knew all too well what that was like. Any time she wanted, Jazz could escape. Of the people trapped in the building, Jazz was the most free. She could go anywhere she wanted
Only her spirit could leave though. Her body would be left behind as her spirit could go anywhere in the world in a second. What was the point? She couldn’t taste anything
 She couldn’t smell anything
And unless she used Telepathy or found a medium or someone who could talk to spirits, she couldn’t communicate with anyone either. It was only partial freedom. It was pointless.

There was no point to escapism. Escaping reality was not a key way to survive. If anything, it could help someone find destiny. Destiny was something everyone met. Jazz wanted to postpone that as long as possible. Everyone’s destiny was the same for everyone. For most people, destiny was feared and unwanted. Jazz was no exception.

Everyone was with her
All the other experiments. Jazz was in the back corner by herself. She silently stared. She had her usual blank look. To many people it was unsettling. Jazz didn’t really care though. What other people thought was of no concern to her.

As Jazz sat in the back corner, she crossed her legs and began to meditate. Her eyes were closed as she envisioned a stream of light. She concentrated on sending energies through her chakras. She began to lose consciousness of her surroundings before she heard a disturbance. It was as though someone was breaking in. It wasn’t often that someone tried to break in to the laboratory
In fact, this was probably the first time.

Jazz decided to check things out. Her spirit separated from her body. She looked back on her slumped shell. It always appeared as though she passed out when she left. Jazz traveled through the walls until she saw what all the ruckus was.

It seemed as though she was another one of the experiments. The girl was controlling zombies to fight off the guards
 There were quite a few
Jazz didn’t attempt to count them all, but she guessed there were more than 40 of them. The girl breaking in seemed to have a strategy to her movements. Jazz wondered what the girl was after, but curiosity didn’t often get the best of her.

Jazz re-entered her body and raised herself from the slumped position.

As Jazz sat and stared like she usually did, the other girl came in. A guard headed for her, but it didn’t take long for him to be dead. A glow of red surrounded him before the girl snapped his fragile neck.

The girl messed with some wires. It seemed as though she knew what she was doing. The girl probably disabled the locks and security systems. How long had she been planning this?

"Well, I'm sure you've all had a lovely time here, but I think it's time you all got going, don't you?" The girl spoke.

Jazz stood. It was her way of saying that she was going. The other girl could have something planned for them. She could have them all doing something deadly. However, Jazz didn’t know and it was the ideal time to leave. If she found out that this girl had something planned, that would be Jazz’s problem. For now, this seemed to be the best route for survival.

Why? Why did they curse me with this? Brett asked himself for probably the millionth time in his life. He didn't want to invade other people's dreams. And he sure as hell didn't want to kill anyone. He just wanted to live a normal life. But no, these... these... for lack of a better word, monsters, had to drag him here and turn him into a monster like them. Granted, he knew that he had no other place to go since his parents died. But still.

He knew he was just a simple pawn, something easily thrown away and replaced, more than likely. So he would be a good boy and continue with the torturous experiments. They had slowly been making his stare more and more powerful, but he was certain they had reached their limit. How far past killing people can you go? But they kept on trying, making him kill countless innocent humans and animals alike. He hated every second of it. Especially considering the ghosts of those he killed came back to haunt him. Eventually some went away, but they always had him killing more and more, so he always had a ghoul for a tormentor with him every second.

As he sat on the edge of his bed in his little cell, the ghost of a little girl kept tugging on his shirt. "Excuse me sir? Why did you have to kill me and daddy? What did we do?" Of course, the dad was right there next to her, sobbing. "Hunnie, none of it was your fault. It's all daddy's fault. Daddy got into trouble with the wrong people and-"

"Would you just shut up?!" Brett finally yelled to the ghosts, turning to them. "Think I don't feel bad enough?!" Surely, to everyone else, he looked insane. But he really didn't care. Maybe he was insane. Not like it would ever matter to any of them. The other monsters made sure he wore sunglasses around everyone else, because even if he did succeed in killing one person, there were plenty of people that could silently shoot him. They made sure to let him know that. So he didn't dare defy them. While he still thought he was a monster, he still couldn't bring himself to get himself killed.

After he had finished yelling at his ghosts, there was a sudden commotion. Brett watched as a girl suddenly came into the room, and a guard charged at her. He thought for sure that the guard would win, but no, the girl easily snapped his neck in a rather elaborate way. Brett just kind of stared with his mouth agape for a bit. He had never seen someone so skilled at taking someone down. Then again, he hadn't seen much. Then the girl went and messed with some wires, and suddenly his door unlocked. He stared at it for a moment, seeing the invitation before him rather than hearing it. He was just about to step out before he thought better of it, turned around, grabbed his sunglasses, and put them on. He then went out of his cell and waited for the next order. He couldn't go around accidentally killing potential allies.

[Cloche Mathis]

There was only silence, save but for the occasional sound of a breath slipping in and out of a set of lungs. There was nothing to be said, no reason for there to be noise. No reason to move, or to do anything. The scientists were done with her for the day now
. They’d had her in for three sessions, and they never did anymore than that in a day. Those men were likely content with the amount of her precious blood they’d drained from her body for the time being, they had enough of the mercy-like substance to study and toy around with until the nearby clock would read in its red, glowing numbers, 6:00AM. As always
. Day in and out, it was always the same thing. Perhaps the only difference between some days and others would be the fact that the number of sessions they took her out of her cell for might sometimes only be one or two, rather than the three they had her in for today. Oh, and there was the sometimes-different meals they served to her as well
.

Food triggered the sense of ‘taste,’ but why it was anything had a taste, she didn’t understand. Everything she was told to eat, she ate, food was but food, it was just a part of everything, no matter what it was she was given. Even if she were handed a vial of poison and was told to gulp it down
.

Upon her face, there was a vacant sort of expression, a dull shine over her dark eyes, as she would every so often blink, while she simply lay upon the thing called her bed, staring up at the ceiling above. No words had slipped beyond her lips since the round of questions asked of her by the doctors who’d been taking her blood a few hours before, and even then, the only words she’d gotten out were ‘yes’ and ‘no.’ Not a thought slipped through her mind, besides one that told her that it would be soon time for her to sleep, so that she would be ready for the morning’s coming session.

With this in mind, a deep inhale was taken by Cloche as the girl came to slowly shut her eyes, remaining in the position she’d been before, though she did not feel tired, it was time for sleep. After a moment of having her eyes shut, the girl sluggishly began to move, gradually twisting her thin body onto its side, so that she was facing the wall her bed was placed up against. With only the noise of her legs moving against the rough and scratchy sheets, Cloche drew them up and quietly against her chest, arms in-between the tops of her and her middle. A pulling sensation caught hold of her attention though, from her forearm, and she had to readjust her arm in order to make it go away—the feeling having come from the gauze wrapped around her wrist. Though barely visible in the dim lighting of her cell, there remained upon the once pristine white cloth, a grim looking stain of grey.

As she about managed toward a light state of slumber, Cloche found her eyes opening with a shout coming from another of the Children’s cells nearby—“Would you just shut up?! Think I don't feel bad enough?!”

Brett. her mind registered the voice with the name of its owner within a second. What it was he was shouting about, or at whom, her mind could not fathom. She had not really spoken with any of the other Children within the facility before, because she was so often kept isolated from everyone but those who bled her every day. But, she at least knew their names and the sounds of their voices.... Without losing that apathetic sort of look upon her features, Cloche very slowly turned her head up to gaze again at the ceiling before it was she moved her arm underneath herself, and used it to push her body upward, so that she was sitting instead of lying there.

Things remained quiet a moment longer, as she turned her gaze toward the door of her cell that led into the hallway...and she came to realize something.... The man who usually stood to the side of her door, whose foot she could usually see silhouetted there, he seemed to be gone from his post. This little difference in what was her usual was enough to elicit a slight reaction from Cloche, in the way of her tilting her head to the side a bit. Had he perhaps gone to quiet Brett up...?

It took another moment before Cloche got the answer to her slight wondering, when it was she saw an unfamiliar girl within the bounds of the room, seemingly fighting against one of the guards, the one who could usually be found standing there near her cell. The guard charged at her, and she managed to flip over top of him with ease, using his shoulders to do so, vanishing from her line of sight as she went beyond the vantage point of her cell. A moment later though, and she heard a sort of crunch, before a dull thud broke the quiet too. Cloche’s eyes were set upon the culprit behind the noise—the corpse of the guard. The back of his head was visible to her; it was lying at an angle awkward to his body.... The sight of a dead body drudged nothing up within her in the least, in fact, she simply did not know how it was she was suppose to regard such a thing.

With her eyes still set upon the corpse, Cloche only again moved when it was she heard the sound of her cell door unlocking, followed by a new voice, “Well, I'm sure you've all had a lovely time here, but I think it's time you all got going, don't you?”

Got...going? Cloche didn’t understand what that meant, and ‘lovely time?’ She knew that this wasn’t a prompt for another bleeding session, no, if it were time for that then a scientist escorted by several guards would’ve come for her. Instead though, there was this...stranger, this girl who had just killed the guardsman who usually stood outside her door. The sound of others moving caught her ears, though no one had yet said anything else. Are they going? she wondered.

....herself, what was she to do with herself? Did she...she go? Was that what she was supposed to now do? This wasn’t a part of her routine, of what the scientists and doctors usually had her undergo every day.... But, then, what? What did she do now? The other Children, some of them seemed to be on the move, seemingly going along with this ‘got going’ business. Still staring at her cell door, expression blank, it took more than half a minute for some movement to come from Cloche. Without a word slipping from her, or a sound, the thin girl was moving herself slowly to the edge of her bed, before she came to set her bare feet upon the cold floor below. Staring down at them, eventually she pushed herself upward, standing...though the girl began to loll a bit from side to side.

A half-dazed expression played over her features, as a sense of lightheadedness overtook her, making her feel as if she were spinning. Beneath her, her spindly legs began to tremble a bit, beginning to feel a bit like jelly to her. Her body had not yet recovered from the blood that had been snatched out of her veins from the scientists earlier. Regardless of this though, the weakness that seeped through her form, Cloche stumbled forward, moving toward the door of her cell. Although she did not understand what ‘got going’ meant or entailed, the other Children seemed ready to following with it, and this strange girl. Perhaps it was what she was supposed to follow as well...?

Roy Ovizion

Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock the sound of an endless clock continued ticking in Roy's head, for what seemed like eternity. How long has been in this hell hole? He was sure that it was a long time by now. His old self faded away a long time ago, when the harsh experiments started, when the devils of humanity made him murder his own kind, humans, and even failed experiments. It wasn't his fault, they made him do it. Death wasn't an option, only revenge. Even if Roy wanted to end his own life they would no doubt resurrect him with Cloches 'Miracle' Blood. How could there be a miracle in a place like this? In a mind like Roy's, there was only darkness, the utter darkness which he dares call the truth.

The ticking finally stopped, a harsh noise came about, someone was yelling. Roy snapped out of what he decided to call "Insane Delirium". Basically with Roy's powers there was no escape, even for the user. He could manipulate detect and control madness, it overcame him and sometimes effected him. Every now and then he would go into this state where he would become insane like his victims, he would see and hear things, but this state didn't last long, it never could. Roy grunted and turned his head to the holding cell of #6, the one they call snake. Immediately Roy detected slight insanity, snake- or Brett was yelling at complete air. Roy laughed, he could tell madness consumed Brett, it was eating him alive, just like everyone else in this prison.

There was nothing he or anyone else could do, Roy simply turned his eye and started playing with ice. Roy came to embrace his powers, he was one of the first successful experiments, he was among the few who butchered so many so called Failed experiments. Truly though, what was the chance of ever leaving this place? 1 maybe 2 percent, the place was heavily guarded. This probability he could not manipulate, see Roy's powers only extend so far, he could manipulate chance, luck, probability, but only if it lies within the basics of reality. Mind you, this was a powerful and deadly power, Chance was something no one dared mess with. Even stability, he could manipulate stability. In this hole, it would be pointless, the place was made so stable and in direct contrast to his own powers. Even if he tried to make the place less stable, so it falls within it self, he would die in the process and there's no point in that. This doesn't mean that Roy cant break down the stability of any material he chose, it just meant that more potent materials would be painful and deadly to break down.

Roy turned to his drawer and opened it, he looked at his mask, the one he had made but never actually put on, someday he would. A sudden noise made Roy lift a brow, he looked at what was causing the commotion, and to his surprise he saw a girl, in his terror he could tell that it was one of the 'failed' she was strong, agile, and without trouble she killed the guard. She continued to mess around with some wires, and within seconds the locks on all the doors opened.

"Well, I'm sure you've all had a lovely time here, but I think it's time you all got going, don't you?"

Roy noticed a few of the others walk out in approval, and start to join her. He looked down at his feet, Freedom? It represents nothing, no one is free within the confines of what happened here. Roy turned quickly and pulled the mask out of the drawer, he hid it in his jacket, and walked out of the cell. In the silence of all the others he decided to speak. With a slightly mocking tone he spoke "Do you really think we can escape dear?" He smiled "Your chances of survival are below 5%. You've killed one guard, alas he is one of a thousand. Some of these guard's are solely designed to subdue us." He already started laughing, perhaps it was Insanity but he could have just be overwhelmed "There is no way any of us will leave this place alive. But, if it means killing them on our way down, then perhaps it is time to go."

Leo

He had training earlier that day, which of course ended in results that the scientists of the facility weren't happy with. Leo had outright refused to lift a finger, let alone use his telekinetic abilities in order to inflict damage on someone else. That was until a couple of guards entered the room to 'teach him a lesson' in cooperation. In a way Leo knew he was being manipulated, they knew that he'd only hurt their kind and what were the lives a few useless guards in the grand scheme of things?

Eventually though, the teenager had to be subdued and gas had filled the chamber he had been in. He lasted a while and he went down glaring but he still succumbed to the noxious fumes. His body felt like rubber and he was unable to focus his mind, so there was no fight when he was lifted up by two guards who all but dragged him by the arms in the direction of his cell.

Before he reached confinement though, his eyes rolled into the back of his head before they slipped shut. It had been funny really how they would never know that Leo had been having a vision of the, very much, near future. His visions didn't come often so when they did, the teen had often found himself hooked up to multiple machines and all but interrogated once he was coherent enough the respond.

Anger
Revenge
Hatred for the facility. He could see it from the outside, the guards stationed around as a woman raised the dead to fight for her. Screaming, alarms sounding but the real downfall would come with a young female's quiet entrance into the building under the mask of all the commotion. Freedom. "Well, I'm sure you've all had a lovely time here, but I think it's time you all got going, don't you?"

Blue eyes shot open, it was quiet around him and his body was sorely stiff. Apparently he had just been tossed into his cell and left where he landed; on the floor in an uncomfortable position. He took his time standing with a small smirk on his face, his gloved hands pushing against the rough cement. He had seen it. Freedom would soon be theirs
or at least Leo hoped so, his visions usually came true but the real question would be how long it would take.

So he waited, sitting still on his meager bed as he listened intently on what was going on out in the hall. Since he had awoken it had been the usual, quiet except for the few minutes of speaking between the guards as the changed shifts.

For hours, it seemed like, all was silent and then movement. The guard was shouting at someone and Leo stood, making his way to his cell's door. He knew what was to come and all but a few seconds later his door opened and the same words he had heard in his vision were spoken.

Leo all but bolted out of his cell, the feeling of being free rushing over him. He grinned broadly at the young woman responsible for his release before scanning the cells that held the other children in them. He recognized Brett, cautiously making his way out of his cell with sunglasses in place, and Jazz, who stood by her own cell entrance. Leo gave both of the younger teens a nod of acknowledgement before moving on.

Cloche's cell was the one he was making an immediate beeline for though, she experienced several bleedings a day and Leo knew the young woman would be weak. When he saw her he knew she was making an effort to leave but her body language spoke of her reluctance. "Come on Cloche." He said with a gentle smile as he lifted one of her arms and threw it over his shoulder. She was light and fairly easy to carry out. "Everything'll be fine, trust me." Leo knew he was asking a lot but he had always done his best to protect the others, no matter how little it had been.

"-chances of survival are below 5%. You've killed one guard, alas he is one of a thousand. Some of these guard's are solely designed to subdue us." Roy's laughter and words were unnerving to say the least as Leo exited Cloche's cell, the girl pressed against his side as he helped her to walk. "There is no way any of us will leave this place alive. But, if it means killing them on our way down, then perhaps it is time to go."

"Chill out Roy, no need to be such a pessimist." Leo called out. Roy had always been one of the experiments that placed Leo on edge. He was just never sure what was going on inside the other male's head.

[Cloche Mathis]

She’d brought herself to a stop before the entranceway of her cell; dizziness encompassed her sense of balance and about sent her to the cold cement floor below. If not for the fact that she’d grabbed onto the nearby doorframe for some support, her form would’ve indeed been pulled downward by gravity. Cloche knew her own body well enough to say that if she went down, she would not be able to get back to her feet again—her spindly form just didn’t have the strength in it for that. Getting herself up and off the bed had been enough of a task.... This strange girl everyone was making to follow though, Cloche knew not what to make of her still. What it was she’d meant by her words or her intentions in killing the guard who so often stood outside her cell
enemy, friend, such words were without meaning in her mind, she’d never known a friend, and had never known what made a person an enemy. The other Children though, they were making to follow her.
As a Child herself, it made sense to do the same. Didn’t it?

Kept within the confines of the building her whole life, having been subjected to bleedings daily since before she could even remember—what Cloche underwent did not feel like torture or suffering. Those were again words she lacked an understanding of. Everything she had come to know was a part of the life she’d been made to lead within the walls of the research facility that encompassed everything she knew as her ‘world’. Good or evil
whatever the scientists were who worked of her blood, and snatched out from within her veins, they too were merely a fragment of what was Cloche’s everyday normal.

Cloche only did what was expected and asked of her, only now did she force herself onward because it seemed as if that was what she had to do rather than any other reason. Her breathing wasn’t exactly the picture of perfection; rather, it was labored, and at times shallow, lightheadedness was still upon her, her legs remained weak beneath her as they threatened to give way to the weight of her body. Beyond this, and her vacant, distant gaze, Cloche gave no signs that she was still even within the realm of reality. Only when it was that she heard someone address her, directly, that she gave any hint of a reaction. “Come on, Cloche.” hearing her name, the Child raised her head upward, seeing that before her stood a fellow experiment—Leo, as she knew him. He was giving to her what was called a ‘smile,’ why though, she did not know.

He took hold of one of her arms, and threw it over his shoulder, helping her to support her body’s meager weight so that she could move away from the doorway of her cell. “Everything’ll be fine, trust me.”

To his words, she could only give a wordless nod—there was nothing to say, she’d been told that things would otherwise be ‘fine,’ and to ‘trust’ him. As she’d been told to, she would follow along with him and the others. She had no reason to not, and at last, she’d been given a direction in which to follow. This was what she was supposed to be doing then
by moving from her bed when her cell door had been opened, she’d done the proper thing it seemed. Cloche made no noise while Leo aided her out of her cell; though another of the Children was rambling on about matters she didn’t entirely understand
yet again. “There is no way any of us will leave this place alive. But, if it means killing them on our way down, then perhaps it is time to go.”

That was Roy
Cloche recognized his manner of speech well enough from the times she’d overheard him from within her cell. What it is he would mean, I don’t know.

“Chill out Roy, no need to be such a pessimist.” Leo called out to him, and his vocal response to the other male made Cloche look up at him, expression completely blank. She didn’t understand any of this
only that she was expected to go along with it. If she weren’t, then Leo would not be assisting her so. And, all of the other Children would not be moving to follow along with the strange girl. Where would they be going though
? Cloche didn’t know anything of the world besides the interior of this research facility, and even then she only had ever seen a few certain parts of it; the walls and ceiling of the route that she took daily to her bleedings. She knew nothing else, remembered nothing more than this in her life. She’d been bound within the building since before her memories began to be retained within her mind
