Introduction

In the world of Rhindeval, there were many kingdoms ruled by good kings and queens. Each had either a prince or a princess. The princes and princesses all knew each other, but one day their whole world would change. When they were still very young (ages range from 5 to 12) an evil enchantress infiltrated the birthday party of one of the princes and killed all of the rulers and captured their children. She brainwashes all of the children before banishing the princesses as well as her sister, a good sorceress, to Earth and taking in the princes as her servants. Over the years she acquired the lands of the other kingdoms using her dark magic. Rebels have tried overthrowing her, but to no avail.

Meanwhile the princesses are adopted on Earth. With no memory of their original home, the princesses live out normal lives while the princes grow up being loyal to the Enchantress, who is now the new Queen of Rhindeval. The only reminder the girls have of their home are pendents they wear and are never parted from them.

Years pass and the princesses are now attending the same local college in modern times of the USA. All the princes and princesses have aliases, without knowledge of their real names. Soon though the princesses will start remembering Rhindeval with the help of the Good Sorceress, who has finally found all of them. The sorceress knows that the princesses are destined to return to Rhindeval, save the princes and defeat her sister. And she'll do that with just a little bit of magic.

It has been 13 years since the Evil Enchantress took over. Princes and Princesses are ages from 18 to 25 now. The princes are currently serving the Queen's bidding. It'll be up to ya'll to decide what their duties are. They can be a member of the royal guard, to an assassin, to anything you want. However all of them do report to the Queen at some point when she summons them. The queen herself hasn't age a day or at least hasn't appeared to have age. She uses dark magic make sure of that by stealing the life force of young women throughout the kingdoms. The princes have no memories of being royal and all believe they have served the queen all their lives. The Queen gave the princes new names in order for them not to remember their true names.

The Good Sorceress is making preparations to unlocks the memories of the princesses. They are currently living out normal college lives. The college they all attend is located in a fictional town in the Pacific Northwest, in the state of Oregon. The girls will all be attending a local festival in town and will run into each other and it's from here they'll all be gathered by the Sorceress as they start to remember. The pendents they have are all precious stones that they wear as necklaces. Each is different and unique. Keep that in mind if you reserve a princess. Oh the princes will get their own magical items, but that'll come later. RPG will briefly start in two places- Rhindeval and Earth, but once the girls are back to their original home, it'll stay exclusively in Rhindeval. Plans are to travel through the various kingdoms; hence the adventure aspect of this RPG. Also through the pendents, all princesses will develop magical skills of their own.

I highly recommend joining the Discord Channel too- Rhindeval's Fractured Kingdoms

Rules:

Note- The Rules are subject to change if need be.

1. Please follow the rules of the site.
2. Please reserve your character first before creating a profile. In your reservation include the following- Image, Name, Alias (Prince and Princesses only), Age, and a brief description of your char, for princes I do want to know what kind of servant for the Queen you're playing and for princesses, what stone pendent will you pick. Reservations are made on the main OOC Page. There won't be a time limit creating the character, but please try to create it in a timely fashion. I'll be contacting you within a week if nothing is up yet. I'll accept WIPs (Works in Progress). Oh, you can reserve more then one char. On a special note, if a player leaves and is in control of a prince or princess, I'll ask remaining players first if they want the slot. Otherwise I'll either take the role myself or try to find a new player to help keep the RPG going.
3. Feel free to use any kind of picture you want for your Char Profile, from anime to real life. But please keep it clean, nothing graphic.
4. Please respect me and your fellow players. OOC fighting will not be tolerated.
5. No godmodding. I reserve the right to auto characters if need be.
6. No word limit, but no one liners and try to use proper grammar. Having gotten writer's block, I know it can be hard to write long posts and I know I make grammatical mistakes myself.
7. Try to post in a timely fashion. If you have real life issues coming up, let me know privately or on the main OOC forum or in Discord. Inactivity for long lengths of time will result in me kicking you out, but I will give you 2 warnings.
8. I will be permanently playing the Evil Enchantress as well as the Good Sorceress since both drive the plot forward. Also, if all prince and princess slots are taken up, I am open to taking in more chars, including villains or rebels or any kind of char. I want this RPG to be as open to others as possible. I want an even amount of princes and princesses ideally. I will probably make the limit of 5 to 6 princes and princesses each, but this number can change depending on how many players joined.
9. Romance isn't mandatory, but highly encouraged. This RPG is rate PG-13 though so while all chars are adults, if things get well . . . too touchy feely, please have the scene fade to black.
10. Most importantly, have fun. If you have read the rules, tell me what your favorite drink is in your reservation. (Mine is eggnog lol).

Lilith Evers
Code- #C71585

The day of the Spring Festival finally arrived, and Lilith was ready! Today, all the preparation she had been getting ready for would come into fruition. Today was the day she would undo the brainwashing spell her sister laid upon the princesses. While she had never been as powerful as her older sister and late younger sister, Lilith did pride herself on being studious and she finally figured out a spell to undo the brainwashing one, but it had been very hard considering how magic wasn't known on Earth. It used to be very common apparently at one point during the Middle Ages, but then humans thought science could do things better and totally abandoned magic all together. It was sad really, but Lilith would worry about that.

The Spring Festival would take place at the local park. It was akin to what people might call a "Renaissance Fair". Lilith would actually be 'dressed up' as a "Fairy Godmother" and was set to read stories to the children at the fair. Interestingly enough, she would be wearing the exact same gown that she wore to Prince Richard's birthday. The events of that day would forever be etched in her mind. She did try to fight off her sister, but Ivelda was just too powerful. Seeing the looks on the princes' and princesses' faces as they felt the deaths of their parents was just beyond words. A part of her did regret that she would have to remind them of such heartache, but she couldn't allow her sister to have her way. It wouldn't surprise her if Ivelda had taken control of all of Rhindeval at this point, she had always been thirsty for power and attention, even before she became evil. For now, she would focus on the present and that was to help the princesses. All would be at this Festival. She had already cast a small spell to keep tabs on their pendants. It would be through this connection that she would unleash the spell that would help their memories return and to remember their true names. Hopefully they would seek her out this day.

Arriving at the Festival in her gown, she quickly set up her area with plenty of books. She even had her old wand with her but kept it in a beaded knapsack around her waist. As she set up, she didn't notice one of the princesses approaching her.

Ivelda Evers
Code-#003300

Ivelda, otherwise known as The Queen, stood in front of a long mirror, admiring herself.

"Beautiful, simply stunning! Don't you agree?" she asked a random servant behind her.

"Indeed, your majesty. No one is a fair as you." the old servant said.

Of course, he really didn't think so, but he wasn't bound to say that for servants had had been killed for insulting the queen.

"I am glad you think so. So, tell me, any news about Adrian?"

"Yes, your majesty, he's been seen crossing the border into Lostein this morning."

"Wonderful. Let's hope he took care of our little pest problem. Now, will you please go check on my other boys? Report back when you're done.

The servant bowed and left the throne room. He would send out different servants to check on the queens' 'boys'.

Ivelda herself went back to her throne and sat down. Life couldn't be better for her, and she made sure that life would stay that way.

Adrian Wells
Code-#30660C

Another mission accomplished, Adrian thought as he rode on one of his favorite horses, a huge brown stallion named Little John. He was galloping through a dense forest and soon came upon a clearing. From the clearing, he got a beautiful view of the Queen's palace, which was surrounded by a lake. Something about the view always warmed Adrian's heart. While his own home was a ways from the palace, he could never quell the voice inside him that this was home. Knowing the queen was expecting his report, he snapped out of his reverie and road down towards the road that would lead to the bridge of the palace.

Making sure his horse was taken care of, Adrian headed straight for the throne room. Knocking on the door, he waited for the queen to let him enter. Once she did, he came in and knelt before her.

"Nice to see you back safely, Adrian, now report."

"Just as you have ordered, Lord Conrad is no longer an issue. All of his land has been confiscated and his family arrested."

Lord Conrad had been secretly helping rebels, so the Queen had ordered Adrian to do something about it. His family was still alive, but Adrian himself had seen to Conrad. What Adrian hadn't told her was how tough this job had been on him emotionally. Conrad had been very loyal to the queen, so it was a shock to learn he had been supporting rebels. Now he had lost everything.

"That's my boy! I am very pleased with your work Adrian. Just wait here for a minute and I shall retrieve you your reward."

Ivelda goes to the nearby chamber connected to the throne room. Everyone in the kingdom knew that the Queen was also a sorceress, and this chamber reflected that fact with all of its potions and a huge cauldron. Ivelda started mixing a few potions in a small bowl before pouring it into a goblet. Soon she returned to where Adrian was.

"Here you go. Now drink up," the queen offered Adrian.

Not even daring to object, Adrian drank it up. The effect was immediate. His eyes darken and look at the queen with a blank face. Smiling, Ivelda came forward and kissed his cheeks. What Adrian did not know was that the drink was one of the ways Ivelda kept him under her control and to keep him from remembering his true name.

"You are dismissed now Adrian. You are free to return home for a while. You've earned a break."

Adrian shook his head. What just happened? He then recalled his queen's words.

"Thank you your majesty. Just call if you need anything."

Bowing, he took his leave of her.

Dawn Henderson and Lilith Evers
Hexcodes- #547B9 and #C71585

Normally Dawn wouldn't go to big festivals like this but seeing how this was her first year of college, she figured she might as well give it a shot. Plus, she had a big dream last night that she wanted to tell Ms. Evers and she knew she'd be here today. Her professor told her she would be dressed up as a "Fairy Godmother" and tell children stories. Dawn didn't know if she was going to dress up or not and decided not to, that was until she got to the festival and saw a stall for 'medieval clothing'. Then she was a goner. So now she was dressed up in a light blue gown. It was simple in nature, but she was a simple woman at the end of the day. Besides, she was petite at only 5'2", so anything too ornate would have overwhelm her, not to mention it would have cost too much. Her regular clothes were in a bag she had with her. Walking around, she soon found Ms. Evers. Her back was to her though. Dawn coughed into her hand to get her attention.

Hearing the noise, Lilith turned and smiled at Dawn.

"Aw, Dawn, nice to see you. You look lovely. I take it you bought here at the festival?"

She had to catch herself from calling Dawn her real name, Aurora.

Dawn smiled shyly and replied, "Yes, I couldn't help myself. I must say though Ms. Evers, you look incredible, like a queen."

"Aww that's sweet hun, thanks. I am glad you decided to come. Did you need anything?"

"Yes! I had the clearest and biggest dream I had yet. There were people in it this time and not just me!"

Dawn then recounted the dream.

Normally Dawn started out in a forest, but this time she was in front of a huge palace with huge trees surrounding it. It was still very foggy though. Dawn walked from the main courtyard. People were everywhere but stood still as statues. Upon closer inspection, Dawn realized they were asleep. For some reason the whole place was giving her deja vu vibes. It was very unsettling. She had no idea where she was going upon entering the palace. Letting her feet guide her she soon found what appeared to be the throne room. The thrones were completely empty. Dawn felt something seeing those thrones, a sense of longing. She placed a hand on what she guessed was the queen's chair. Suddenly a voice entered her head.

~Soon my dear, you'll find the answers you seek.~

That was when she woke up.

Lilith's eyes widen in excitement hearing about the dream. Dawn was dreaming of Traumet and this time visited her home. She guessed the voice she heard was her mother's. She wondered if the other princesses were dreaming of their homeland too. If they were, then the task of revealing their true selves to them would be a bit easier.

"So what do you think this dream is trying to tell you, Dawn?"

Dawn shrugged. She honestly didn't know what it meant. She did have a lot of questions though, the biggest being, why was she dreaming of this place to begin with? She knew she had no memory prior to the age of 6 and did wonder what happened to her biological family, but she didn't know if that situation connected to her dreams. Lilith, seeing Dawn was in her head again, thought it might be best to distract her.

"Well, I am done setting up, Dawn. I want to explore the festival since I am not due to start for another 30 minutes. Would you like to join me?"

"Sure, but what about your stuff?"

"I will have my purse with me, and I'll just close up this curtain around this area so nothing of value will be taken."

She didn't add that she placed a magical barrier around it too. This barrier would also prevent onlookers from seeing her perform her spell later. Man, it felt good to be able to use her common spells again. Soon the pair walked around.

eloise grace.

If there was one word to describe how she was feeling presently, it would be sick of this shit. Except that was four words, and Eloise was far too done with this day to care to fix it. Word counts are for essays, not life. If she treated everything she did like a college course and its homework, she would be like the miserable students who couldn't step out of the library until they were forced to at close, and then only kept studying back at their dorm. I mean, god, would it kill them to live a little?

Of course, essays and classmates with no lives weren't her main concern right now. Oh no, they were far from her mind, but passing her music class and keeping her scholarship were very much at the forefront. It wasn't as if she had tried out for the solo part of the spring festival, in fact she hadn't even tried out at all. But of course her music professor had approached her, mentioned the festival and before she could even object, there it was. "Miss Grace, I'd love to see you perform solo again. If you don't, you'll take a hard hit to your grade." Why thank you, Mrs. Barnes. That had been just what she'd wanted to hear, and exactly how she'd wanted to spend a free night. Goodbye, Netflix and instant ramen. Goodbye, going out with her friends to band practice. Hello, practicing the instrument she hated so much even more than she already forced herself to.

She was lucky she had no roommates, truly. They would have had to be subject to her angry, begrudging playing, and no one liked to hear that. Not even her own parents, who insisted that they loved to hear her play no matter what. Apparently, the sound of musical venting was not so nice to the ears of the listeners.

For as much as she hated this, she pushed through, because a "hard hit" meant failing her class in no short words. She didn't need her professor to sugarcoat it, she may as well have said, "do this or die," and Eloise would have felt exactly the same as she did now. But the woman's horrid treatment of her ever so faithful student didn't end there. Oh no, it went further. As if she couldn't be anymore humiliated by the prospect of having to attend a goddamn renaissance fair, she was told that part of her grade was presentation and participation. Oh but don't worry, the kind professor told her, she would provide the material necessary for those parts, it wouldn't cost Eloise a dime.

And so she found herself standing, staring at the horrid dress that she would have never been caught dead in if she had free will and choice. Staring at the thing that she was supposed to be wearing in just a week's time had made Eloise nearly lose her lunch all over the thing, and she would be lying if she said she didn't cry on her walk home after leaving her professor's office. Sure, it wasn't hideous by normal standards, and maybe dressing up like a little princess on the way to a ball was fun and appealing for some, but for her? Absolutely not. She wasn't some pretty dress-up barbie, she wasn't a little fairy princess, and she wasn't a renaissance fair goer, but in an instant the cruelties of university shove those things down her throat, and she was left with no choice.

When the day did finally arrive, she had nothing but a migraine and sour mood. Packing up the violin in its case, somehow managing to get herself into the dress that had hung in her closet since two days ago, and out the door she went. Who cares if the trail of the dress was wrecked with travel, she didn't. Maybe it would give it more personality that way, a little wear and tear. Maybe her professor would decide to let her put on something else of her own choice if the state got so bad it would humiliate them all.

Yet, when she did finally arrive to the festival, stepping foot on the grasses of the park, a single look around told her Mrs. Barnes had actually, genuinely, had mercy on her. Oh my god, she had had so much mercy. Her own dress was annoying, sure, but did these people realize what they were wearing when they put these outfits on? Did they know the colors, the size, the gaudy extravagance was one step away from making Eloise burst into hysterical laughter and point fingers?

Slapping her hands together in a prayer of thanks, she clenched her eyes shut and stifled another dumfounded laugh, please forgive me for my previous anger and cold words, Mrs. Barnes, for I am truly a fool. Thank you for not putting me in a bright pink ball gown, I owe you my life.

With a slight mood boost obtained through internally making fun of people, Eloise finally began making her way further into the fair and its sights. She had never been one to attend these sort of things, too noisy and usually dirty, with people lacking basic common sense and care in their overexcitement. Far too many children loose too, with parents no where to be seen, only made her feel more on edge, as they zig-zagged through every person and nearly tripped or knocked them over in the process.

But hey, at least there were plenty of stalls for food. Overpriced food, no doubt, but it was a fair's only redeeming quality in her eyes, and she would be sure to seek those out to eat away her emotions, to tide her over until the time for her performance came. For now, she kept her walk towards the small "stage" that had been setup for the volunteer and university orchestra. Lines of stands and chairs, plenty of places to set down instruments and supplies with a careful eyed man keeping watch over them all. She wasn't sure if he was supposed to be the conductor or a security guard, the way he was dressed along with everyone else. Not that it mattered, it wasn't as if she was here to steal anything. Rather, it'd be great if someone would steal away her violin before the performance. Oh no, she can't perform anymore without her instrument? What a shame! Guess she'll just have to try next time. (Never. Never again. This was the first and last time she would ever visit something like this, let alone perform in it.)

After placing her case somewhere safe enough and making sure it was locked, she took the key to it back, shoving it away into her bra, given there weren't pockets on the dress. Hadn't time moved on enough to provide those for women now? No? Whatever, she barely wore them anyway, especially not this style.

Given that her performance wasn't for another two hours into the fair, Eloise took to her feet to find ways to pass the time instead until then. Food was the first thing on her mind, and with her small backpack slung over her shoulder lazily, she made way for the first stall she could find, selling fruit cups. Sure, it wasn't the sweetest or most exciting thing, but this would be far from the last snack she bought. It was good to start out light, she told herself. Fruit was refreshing anyway, and helped to calm her nerves a bit.

Not that calmed nerves lasted very long; if her music professor wasn't already turning her hair grey, then her English professor was. Lilith Evers, the kind woman who was perfect in every way, that Eloise could only do her best to run from when she saw her on campus, and try and hide in the corner of her classroom when she was there. The woman was dressed to fit in with the rest of the fair, and against Eloise's own nature she acknowledged that, yes, it did look quite pleasant on her, even though it looked like too much for herself. At her side was what looked like a freshman girl, though she had never been that great at guessing ages just by looks. Still, the counseling vibes she got from watching the situation from afar made it feel all the more likely that she was just a first year.

Little freshman! Run! Don't fall for her kindness, or you'll never be free from it!"

Her thoughts are cut short, however, when she realizes that she's been staring at the two of them for far too long. Her gaze is quick to turn to the ground, the sky, other stalls, anywhere else in hopes that the professor hadn't noticed her attention, and wouldn't approach her.

”To acquire knowledge, one must study; but to acquire wisdom, one must observe.”
Hex Code ~ #0B610B

The day began as any other, with Althea readying herself at her off-campus apartment. Except today would be different, as it was the day of the Spring Festival and all classes were cancelled so everyone could either enjoy their day or attend to their assigned class duties. For Althea, all that she had to worry about was the play that they would be putting on at 1:00pm, and then ensuring that if anything were to happen, as SeniorClass President, she was present to attend to any matters that arose.

She attended the festival wearing a simple yet elegant green dress that she had designed and enlisted the assistance of the fashion department’s help in creating. It was a dress that she was to wear in the play, and the director had requested she wear it at the festival to draw in people to buy tickets and attend the performance. Paired with a simple lavender flower crown she made and pretty iridescent green fairy wings she found online for a fairly decent price, she looked the perfect picture of a fairy princess and would undoubtedly draw eyes and therefore a fair amount of theater goers. Not to mention the splash of shimmering glitter she added to make the fairy look more realistic. Topping the look off with a simple pouch, she snatched up her messenger bag, intending to leave it in the locked dressing rooms.

She would be lying if she said it wasn’t nice to be rehearsing outside, when the weather was as lovely as it was. Inhaling deeply, she reveled in the fresh air as the breeze brushed around her, almost whispering in her ears. The chitter of a chipmunk could be heard as it skittered up a nearby tree, and the small mew of one of the stray cats traveled from a bush that she strode by. Pausing, Althea withdrew a small pouch from her bag, made her way over to the bushes, and crouched down. Almost immediately a black and white face peeped out, as though excited, and she let out of a soft giggle in response.

”Don’t worry, I brought you food,” she reassured it, popping open the pouch of wet cat food. Emptying it out onto the sidewalk right next to the grass lining the bushes, she watched as the cat scurried out and basically inhaled the food, gently stroking it behind its ear as it did. ”I’m sure someone will come and take you home real soon, okay?” she murmured softly, wishing that she herself could adopt the feline. Once it had finished eating and receiving attention, it returned to its nesting spot inside the bushes for what she assumed was a much-needed food nap, and Althea returned on her way, glancing at her smartwatch as she did so, noting the time to be 7:15 in the morning. This gave her around fifteen minutes to reach the outdoor amphitheater and start to get ready for dress rehearsal, and if she didn’t want to be late, she would have to hurry.

~’.’~’.’~’.’~’.’~’.’~’.’~’.’~’.’~

“...And Paris, too. Come, I’ll dispose of thee Among a sisterhood of holy nuns. Stay not to question, for the watch is coming. Come, go, good Juliet. I dare no longer stay.”

Silence rang heavily in the air as the remnants of the man’s voice faded from the outdoor amphitheater. The quiet quickly grew uncomfortable, and was marred by the clearing of a throat and the soft shuffling of a chair. A young woman knelt on the stage, seemingly staring off into the unknown, and it was clear that her mind was elsewhere instead of focused on the play at hand.

“Miss Regàlé, do you need your line read to you?”

When the director’s question was met with further silence, he pushed back his chair, shuffling the script papers in front of him before placing them in a neat stack on the table. Moving out from behind the desk, he approached the stage and lithely hopped up onto it, swiftly made his way across the floor, before placing a hand on the young woman’s shoulder, causing her to jump in surprise, having quite obviously been off in her own little world and not paying attention in any form.She blinked up at him with a blank expression for a moment before light dawned on her expression and a bright pink hue rose into her cheeks.

”I’m so sorry, Mr. Heinry. I suppose I was lost in my train of thought. There is little excuse for my behavior and I apologize - sincerely, sir. It will not happen again,” she scrambled out, bowing her head to him. ”I don’t require my lines, I remember them. Please, allow us to return to rehearsal.”

With a questionable look down at James, the young man currently pretending to be a dead Romeo, Mr. Heinry nodded in answer to Althea and strode back across the stage, hopping down and returning to the director’s seat behind his table.

“Alright, let’s take it from Friar Lawrence’s line beginning with, ‘I hear some noise.’” He spun his hand in the air, and following the cue, the young man playing Friar Lawrence cleared his throat and spoke his lines anew, this time with Althea paying attention.

“Go, get thee hence, for I will not away!” The man playing Friar Lawrence nodded and exited the stage, leaving Althea alone with her partner. Tears streamed down her face in rivlets, streaking her cheeks with stains. Her eyes moved to James’ hand and she grasped his wrist, raising it swiftly. “What’s here? A cup closed in my true love’s hand? Poison, I see, hath been his timeless end.— O churl, drunk all, and left no friendly drop To help me after! I will kiss thy lips. Haply some poison yet doth hang on them, To make me die with a restorative.” She leaned down and pressed her lips gently to his own, and when she retreated, a soft sob escaped her. “Thy lips are warm! Lead, boy. Which way? Yea, noise? Then I’ll be brief. O, happy dagger, This is thy sheath! There rust, and let me die!” With that final line, Althea brought her hands into the air, raising the false dagger that shimmered as though real in the bright morning light, and brought it down quickly towards her chest. She let out a cry of pain and slowly slumped over James, the dagger lodged between them and her arm sprawled across his body.

The applause of their fellow castmates drew them up, and as she rose, Althea held out a hand to James, which he took gratefully as he allowed her to help him stand. She gave him a sweet smile, prompting his cheeks to turn pink, but she didn’t notice.

”Great work so far, James. Keep it up and we might even make it to finals!” she encouraged, patting him on the shoulder. His cheeks turned brighter and he rubbed the back of his head, a sheepish smile on his lips. “Thanks a lot, Althea; but if it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t have even made it to sectionals. You’re the one who brought the whole thing together. Not only did you direct the set building, but with you playing Juliet, there’s no way we can fail,” he gushed, looking down at her with shimmering puppy dog eyes.

Althea, ever the dense and naive when it came to recognizing clues and hints in the regards of romance, simply beamed in return. ”Ah, thank you so much, James! I appreciate the compliment, but we never would have made it this far if it weren’t for everyone involved,” she insisted, then bid him a quick farewell. Turning, she strode across the stage and grabbed her messenger bag from behind the curtains, making her way down the stairs on the side of the platform. Casting a gentle smile at people as she passed and they congratulated her on her performance, she headed toward the dressing rooms to change back into her original dress.

Excited to bring in people to watch her performance, she spent a majority of the day traversing the festival, pausing to chat with those who wanted pictures with her and who had questions about her costume. Little girls would run up and excitedly tug on her skirts, exclaiming that they had found a real-life fairy princess and they wanted to be just like her, and little boys professed that they would save her should she ever be kidnapped by a big, mean bad guy and need rescuing. This would draw laughs from their parents who would snap pictures for the memories, a bright smile on Althea’s face, and when the time came for her performance, it went off without a hitch, the show sold-out, much to her pleasure. A majority of the theater-goers were those who had stopped to take pictures with her, the little ones wanting to watch the pretty fairy princess’s show, and the parents intrigued on how well she could perform in a practiced situation. Needless to say, they were not disappointed, and they congratulated her after the show as they all left the theater, shaking the hands of the cast as they awaited them at the exit.

For Althea, changing into normal clothes could not come quickly enough. After sweating it out in the beautiful yet uncomfortable gowns she had been forced into throughout the day, she was more than ready to change into a pair of pants. The cast filed back into the dressing rooms, chattering away, and she joined in on a few of the jokes, giving a giggle here and there as they all reverted from Renaissance royalty and peasants into normal, 21st century civilians.

Once she was done, Althea gathered her bag and made her way into the festival, intent on perusing the wares, food, and activities.

Lights, camera, action! Welcome to Liliya's start of her day, and the very beginning of her plans to enjoy this weekend off to the fullest. A small paper laid over her kitchen's dining table as she ate her smoothie bowl she'd prepared for her breakfast, pink pen scribbling along what she needed to do, and what she wanted to do, all in a neat list that was organized by time and location. It was something her mother had taught her to do from early on, organization and scheduling, to make sure she could make the most of her day. Whether or not she always stuck to her self-created schedules, well that...was up for debate.

"7:00, smoothie bowl, check that off darling." She smiled to herself, making a swift mark in the box of the graph paper, marking off just one of her many desires to enjoy the daylight and soon, the moonlight, as much as she hoped to avoid being out in the dark for long, to be able to return to the comfort of her bright apartment, or her bedroom's dim fairy lights for sleep. She was the master of running from the dark now, while still using up every bit of daylight she could too.

"7:30, morning run." A glance to the clock, she smiled at the time, a comfortable 7:23am, just enough time to finish her food and get dressed into her active wear. Moving the wooden spoon around the glass bowl to get the rest of the fruit and granola, it was soon rested into the sink, rinsed clean and waiting for her to load it tonight when she returned from her activities. Over to her room it was next, half skipping to her closet and opening up the door, stepping inside. Those capri leggings would work nice, and that sports bra...and then out the door she went. It was always nice, brisk, the only way she could really wake up as entirely as she wanted to, and by the time she got back and showered, it was already 8:30am. An hour and a half of being awake and she was already as productive as could be. Maybe it's time for me to write my personal motivation book! Bet it'd just fly off the counters. A pause, maybe if I added a couple pictures in there of myself, too. A small snicker, before she's back in casual wear, wandering to her list to mark off some more things.

Hair and makeup, check. Lunch, check. Stopping by the agency to make sure that there was nothing left for her to do, check. Stopping for a drink at the new café, double checking her homework and projects were on track or finished, double checking the time of the fair, check check check. All that was left at this point was redoing her hair and makeup to make sure it fit the event and her chosen dress. It didn't take terribly long, pulling it back into a pretty little braided bun and leaving out sections to frame her face, and soon enough her makeup was slapped on, quick and perfect as always after years of trying everything she could possibly think up. Her day off was going to be stress free, perfect, and entirely enjoyable, with nothing to make her feel down or disappointed even halfway through the day.

Finally the dress was on, comfortable and perfectly fitting, all thanks to her own alterations that she had done by hand a week or two ago; she was going to be a fashion designer, so of course she had to learn how to do something like that. It was part of her classes anyway, and now this dress could work as a perfect piece to include in an assignment or her portfolio. If she recalled correctly, she'd seen some of he other students working on a dress for one of their upperclassman...Althea? Regardless, she hoped she could see the girl in the dress when she visited the fair.

She'd made her way out of her apartment soon after, catching a couple glances from passerby and neighbors, giving her a little bit of glee over the attention. Where would they think she was headed off to? She didn't know, but she was sure she looked beautiful; she'd put so much time into this look after all.

It didn't take very long for a familiar car to pull up, top down and easy to climb into as soon as she started running towards it. There were already three others sitting inside, two boys in the front and back, a girl in the passenger, and their excited cheers gave a small hop to her step as she approached. "Hurry up, Lily! Before we miss all the midday stuff!" Came Luke's voice, and she rolled her eyes as Galen reached across the backseat to open the door for her. Making sure her dress was well stuffed into the seat and wouldn't catch in anything, it was shut again a moment later before she relaxed into the seat comfortably. Off they went, the gentle breeze of the car running through her hair, though she wasn't that worried about it getting messed up. Queen of hairpins and hairspray, at your service.

"Looking beautiful as ever, miss model." Came Galen's voice from her side, and she gave a joking flip of her hair as she turned to look at him, eyes glinting with a childish joy at his compliment, "why thank you, Gale. You're ever so smooth with your compliments. Never miss a chance, do you?" A shift over to the middle seat, and pressed a kiss to his cheek, and he returned it with one to her lips. "Of course not, how could I? The dashing goddess herself accepted my request to date, after all."

It's a sharp giggle from her at his words, and she lands a couple playful hits on his chest as she leans back into her seat again, "enough of that, we aren't actually living in medieval times. I like your outfit Gale, wanna let me take it off you tonight?"

"Agh!" Came from the front seat, and Liliya let out a high laugh, "TMI, TMI! Don't you two lovebirds know that your friends are sitting right in front of you? Keep the sex talk to yourselves or wait until we're gone! We didn't plan this first double date for you guys so you could show off your gross honeymoon phase!" Tia's voice sounds disgusted as she speaks, and she only dramatizes it by sticking out her tongue and scrunching her expression. "If you're gonna act like that, get a room!"

There's only more laughter as they continue on, and soon it settles into comfortable conversation over the sound of the wind over the car. It had mostly been done to get a reaction out of them, really, but Liliya wouldn't lie and say she enjoyed her boyfriend staying over for the night, especially when her weekend was so free. Boyfriend, as in Galen, who she had only been dating for about two weeks now. So soon after being dumped just a month ago, and she still wasn't sure what to think. Was this love or just another one off relationship that would end in another week or two? She'd at least let herself enjoy it for the moment.

They'd arrived soon enough, jumping out of the car to the fair in front of them. Joy flitted over her face at the sight of the dresses and stands, and she didn't give anyone time to gather themselves before they were off to enjoy the sights. Unfortunately, the play was missed, and unfortunately the music performance wasn't for another couple hours, but there was plenty else to look for. Games, food, prizes, what wasn't there to enjoy? So she forced them to walk around for plenty long enough, before they began complaining, and Galen's usual impatience began to dampen the mood, make her feel uneasy as if their new fragile relationship might already be over if he lost his temper now. He wanted to head back to her apartment already, but it was only 3:00, and she still had things she wanted to try and see. "Go wait at the car or wait for me back at the apartment, then." Came her pout and half fit as she looked up to him. "There's still things I wanna do, and I cleared my whole day out for this, I don't wanna just sit back at my apartment for the rest of the night." And that was exactly what her friends and he had done, leaving her alone to the fair that she had barely managed to convince them to come to in the first place. Her pout had been stuck on her face for awhile after that, but joy returned soon enough when she spotted familiar faces a short ways away. Ms. Evers, and her classmate Dawn. In a sudden dash over to the pair, she approached the younger girl from behind before throwing her arms around her, bright smile making its appearance over her face, peeking out from the girl's shoulder.

"Dawnie!" Came out her name, and Liliya gave a small giggle before releasing the girl from her hold. "I didn't know you were coming! Or you, Ms. Evers! Come on, you guys should have let me know you were planning it, I could've come to hang out sooner!" There's a short pause to her giddy voice, and then she's offering a slightly flustered smile, "care if I tag along with you guys? My date ditched me."

”The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.”

The early morning rays shone brightly through the slotted windows etched into the castle walls, glinting mesmerizingly off of the slightly-pink tips of hair peeking out ever-so-slightly from the top of the covers that hid a mound on the single bed that sat within the room that one were to look upon. The mound stirred, followed by a small, muffled sound of annoyance, and for the briefest of moments the pink tips disappeared before reappearing again, followed by the rest of the light orange tufts attached to them. This also revealed a boyishly charming face and large, interesting eyes, mixed with hues of both green and orange, that were currently blinking blearily against the morning light that filtered so brightly into the young man’s eyes. Lifting a hand, he rubbed at his left eye and yawned slightly, adding to the boyish charm that was already held within his features, and then stretched in such a way that an onlooker would be reminded of that of a cat.

Scratching his lower back, he threw back the covers and moved his legs over the side of the bed, shivering slightly as the room temperature hit his bare skin, goosebumps and hairs rising at the sudden change from warmth to chill. As he rose, he stretched once more, lithely, letting out a soft groan as he did so, his bones cracking slightly in the process, before he sighed and relaxed, dropping his arms once more to his sides and scratching his back again. It didn’t take him long to dress, ensuring to don his ever-present broadsword in its sheath at his hip, and with a quick splash of men’s perfume and an equally swift brush of his teeth and hair, the young man retrieved his shoulder bag, slipped it over his head, and easily made his way from his room.

This routine was not an uncommon one for young Ryder Veldine; in fact, this was quite literally his daily routine. Unless his Queen requested otherwise, he was generally awake with the early sun’s rays, readied fairly quickly, saw to any business that required his attention, and was outside of her chamber doors ready to assist her as soon as she awoke as well. ‘Tis the requirement of the Queen’s Royal Advisor, he presumed. En route to the kitchens portion of the castle, he detoured slightly to make a stop by the royal accountant's offices and have a brief word with the older gentleman who handled the finances in there, simply to go over the papers that Ryder had submitted the day before. After ensuring that everything had been in order and nothing was out of place in his calculations, he accepted the finalized reports from the accountant, gave him a respectful bow, slipped the reports into his bag, and retreated from the man's office. Making one last deviation in his route, Ryder slipped into the royal library, his chin dipping ever-so-slightly in greetings to the librarian currently organizing a stack of books. They nodded absentmindedly in return, clearly more than accustomed to his presence in that room, not missing even a single beat in their movements as they did so. It was quick work for him to retrieve the book from his bag and return it to its proper place on the fifth shelf up, the third row down, only to snag a new book from the second shelf up in the same row. Scrawled neatly across the leather front of it were the words Quae astris praesentiuntur Astronomia, and with a satisfied smile, he slipped it into his bag and made his way easily from the library, his little side trips complete.

Stopping by the kitchens along the way to retrieve his breakfast, as well as the maid who was to deliver Queen’s afternoon tea, Ryder nodded hello to the cooks. He noted with piqued interest that there was a new face in the kitchen, and reminded himself to ask the Queen about the new staff member later. He nibbled on his bread and mutton as he walked, giving a slight tilt of the head in greeting to servants as he passed them in the large halls of the castle on his pathing to the Queen’s throne. The maid did not attempt to chat with him, as she was well accustomed to not only his own personally quiet nature but also the kingdom as a whole’s tendency to no speak to many of the men who were in service to the Queen - something that someone as astute as he had not failed to miss. Why this was so, however, he hadn’t a clue.

As Ryder walked, he reviewed the previous day's events in his head, in case his Queen was to inquire what he had accomplished, although he had already given her his reports before retiring for the evening before.

The day had been a simple one, as the tasks that his Queen had entrusted to him had been few and easily done, and his job generally entailed advising the Queen when she requested his input on situations as she seemed to value his opinion given his educational background. However, he did frequently offer to assist her with other tasks, in an effort to lighten the load on her shoulders, and would often be seen out and about performing duties on her behalf that she either did not have the time or the inclination herself to do.

Ryder had been sent to the local orphanage to gather documents on their current orphans, for what the Queen explained was an effort to find homes for the children in need. He then was sent to collect taxes from the shops in the northern shopping district of the city, followed by delivering the monthly royal donations to each church that was currently within city limits. Following that, he was to document all funds that were transferred between the shops, his hands, the castle, and the church, and submit these all to the royal account for filing, before reporting the final profit directly to the Queen herself.

Polishing off the last bite of bread and mutton, Ryder took a swig of water from his canteen on his hip opposite his sword, cleared his throat, and paused outside of the Queen’s throne room alongside the maid as well as the two ever-present guards who stood on each side of the large, ornately designed doors. Jerking his chin up a bit in greeting to them - it was clear that he was a man of few words, and this was a common way for him to say hello - he leaned slightly to the side to listen, noting that he could hear the slightly muffled voices of the Queen and who he immediately recognized as Sir Adrian Wells. It was obvious that they were still deep into discussion, so he straightened once more, hands clasped behind his back, and prepared to wait until she had finished and beckoned him inside.

It was around five minutes later that he heard the approaching footsteps of a man and the doors to the great hall were pushed open. Eyes briefly meeting Sir Wells’, he noted the man’s strained features, and although he was known for being more so the stoic type, perhaps equal in seriousness to Ryder at times, it was rare to see him under such duress. He would have to ask one of his Birds what had happened; they always knew. Brushing the thought aside and turning his focus back to the now-open doors, he smoothed back his hair in an attempt to somewhat tidy the mess that it always was and made his way inside, a small smile on his face - as large of a smile that really anyone could get out of him anymore, other than his books. He strode directly towards Ivelda, immediately dropping to one knee before her and taking her hand with his, his other arm behind his back, and gently placed his lips to her fingers.

”My beautiful Queen; as always, it is a glorious morning that I am truly blessed to be given the opportunity to awaken and arise, to immediately see your beautiful and youthful face,” he practically purred, his voice dripping like fresh honey on honeycomb. Finally turning his soft, unique gaze up to hers, that small, impish smile remained on his lips as he rose to his full height before her, only to bow forward at the hips, one arm cast out at his side and the other folded around his hips. ”I come with one of the servants, bearing your morning tea. Please, drink and be nourished, as the kingdom requires you to remain strong and healthy in order to lead and prosper.”

Straightening once more, Ryder stepped slightly to the side to allow the maid access to the Queen and the desk that she was to eat her breakfast at. As she approached, Ryder kept a watchful eye on her, his gaze wary and alert, yet his stature giving off the appearance of someone relaxed and unprepared. The girl, no older than possibly thirteen or fourteen years old, set the food down, clearly too fearful to even raise her gaze and look at the Queen, cast a dutiful yet quick curtsy in regards to the higher up, before quickly scurrying from the large chambers.

After watching her leaving and ensuring the doors shut behind her, Ryder returned his gaze to his Queen as she lifted her tea. He studied her as she sipped at it, admiring her ethereal beauty, before he averted his gaze. He stood at her side, as per his norm, awaiting any orders or anything she should wish of him.

Deep in the kingdom of Traumet, well below the surface was the fairy kingdom. It was unaffected by the spell above ground that kept Traumet safe. Still the fae folk were troubled by how things were above ground. No one was more trouble than the fairy queen herself, Eowyn. Representing one of the good forces of magic, there was very little she could do due to the rules her kind had to obey from higher forces. She could easily overpower Ivelda, but Ivelda herself was now a vessel of an ancient evil force and Eowyn would be breaking a long-standing agreement to never directly oppose a representative of one of the evil forces. She could work around it though. She was still waiting for the day for Lilith and princesses to return. While she wasn't able to check on Earth (it was outside her own capabilities), she knew she'd be able to feel when someone did use teleporting magic of any cause because that would cause a ripple of magic. She felt it once when Ivelda had banished Lilith and the princesses. It was like a sense of loss that those who belonged were torn from the place they belong to. She herself had tried her best to bring them right back, but she'd been blocked by the ancient magic that guarded this world. Something told her though that soon they'd be returning. When that happens, Eowyn would make sure they were assisted quickly.

Currently the queen was in her own personal quarters thinking about all of the princes. They had become shadows of their former selves. It broke her heart to see them that way. Eowyn was very much aware that the princes had 2 spells on them. She'd seen it happen indirectly through her magic. First one had been the brainwashing spell. The 2nd was the more problematic one for it kept the princes loyal to Ivelda. If Lilith and the princesses had any hope of defeating Ivelda, they were going to need the princes' help. Plus, it was wrong to keep someone under a spell like that. The brainwashing spell would be the easiest to break, but the 2nd one, not so much. However, the queen had an idea to break the spell.

"Guards! Fetch Iris for me please?" she called out.

Soon a fairy with dark purple wings appeared.

"Morning your majesty! You summoned me?" the little pixie replied.

"Indeed Iris. I have an important, but dangerous mission for you. You must be discreet and mask your magic."

"Of course, your majesty! It's something I excel at after all. How else would I be able to trick the guards at times hehe!"

Eowyn smiled at the fairy. Not all fairies were alike, but Iris was one of the fairies who could shrink to pixie size and Eowyn often used her for covert missions thanks to that ability and masking her magic. Magic often left a trail, but Iris didn't, at least for a certain length of time.

"Very well. I want you to go to Castle Lostein and find out what Ivelda is using to keep the princes under her control. Be very careful."

Iris was normally a very jovial and happy-go-lucky fae who seemed to take nothing seriously, but she was all business when she nodded and for the palace. Traumet might be sealed off, but there were ways to move about the kingdoms freely, at least for fae folk.

Cassie Peters
Code- #46935C

Cassie Peters normally didn't make it a habit to attend festivals like this one, but she had been attending Spring Festival ever since she could remember since her family was from this area. Well, her adoptive family but that was just a word to her. Family was family. This time Cassie came to the festival with the track team but ended up going off on her own at one point. She didn't originally plan on wearing anything "middle aged", but started regretting it when she notice a good chunk of the crowd dressing up. She liked being unique, but now she was feeling like the 'odd woman' out. At the moment she had just gotten a big turkey leg from one of the food booths. It was very good as always.

She was walking when she saw someone she recognize, but had to do a double take for the sight was surprising. It was one of her classmates, Eloise. They currently had an English course and she had seen her in the Music Department area and learned she was taking a music class there. The woman definitely had a chip on her shoulder, but that's not what surprised Cassie; it was the gown she was currently wearing. She never pegged her to be the 'dress up' type. Now Cassie was really feeling out of place.
Maybe there was something here she could buy?

Ever the curious person, the green hair young woman approached the tall raven haired one.

"Hey, Eloise, that dress looks great on you. Are you okay? You don't look comfortable in it."

Dawn Henderson and Lilith Evers
Hexcodes- #547B9 and #C71585

"How have your classes been this semester, Dawn? Have you figured out a major yet?" Lilith found herself asking the young woman.

This made Dawn think. Why hadn't she picked a major? It was like something was holding her back and she couldn't explain why.

"I have been enjoying my classes, well, all but one. It's my history course. It's not bad, just boring. And I don't know what my major will be yet."

It was at that moment someone hugged her from behind and Dawn almost screamed, but she had felt a presence behind her.

"Dawnie!" the person said before letting her go.

Both Dawn and Lilith turned to see that it was Dawn's classmate, Liliya, or as Lilith knew her, Princess Rhea. Lilith smiled at the pink hair lady started talking again before asking if she could come along. Lilith herself was happy to see that Rhea hadn't changed at all, even though she was brainwashed. She remembered at the orphanage how Rhea bonded with with one of the boys there, and the two got adopted together. It was nice to see that even though Rhea had been adopted by a very wealthy couple, she still remained a cheery and kind person. She could have easily turned out snobbish or spoiled.

"Oh course you may tag along, Liliya. That gown of yours is lovely! You look like a real princess. Sadly, I will soon have to return to my booth to start my performance. Both of you can watch it if you want."

She hoped the girls would watch her, for she would be telling stories of Rhindeval before doing her spell. The audience wouldn't know the stories were true though.

aetherius ruelle.
dialogue ; #7d869c. – thought ; #a7baa0.
Image

For Aetherius, the scent of the sea was the scent of freedom. Therefore, the scent of the ports was the scent of shackles and cages, a suffocating imprisonment under Ivelda's watchful eyes, where she could breathe down his neck if she felt so inclined, where the rest of his fellow "coworkers" usually stayed along with her. He hadn't been particularly fond of most of them, perhaps thanks to the fact that he was really never around enough to get to know them before he was off on his next sailing trip for a couple months, out of watchful eyes and leashing commands. Sure, there were still rules to follow out on the ocean's waters, but with no one there to enforce them, it practically gave him lawless reign, just as he liked it.

The ship jolts lightly as it settles into the shallow, quieter waters at Lostein's ports, anchors slowly settling into the reeking mud and filth that most these sort of docking areas held. Only the bottom feeding fish remained here, eating away trash and tasteless plants that could barely sprout in the unhealthy waters, and their stench only made it worse. It smelled nothing of the fresh, salty breeze that he loved in the freedom of his sea, and silently he was grateful that stops here only lasted a short while, a couple days, maybe a week or two before he was back out to his endless stretch of blue.

Things settle in, his (or, truthfully, his queen's, but he felt like he deserved some control and name over them) fleet of ships docked and resting in the pier. The noise of the city reaches their docks soon enough once the creaking and groaning wood settles, chatter and regular hustle and bustle of the streets, animals and marketplaces. He doesn't feel much for the sounds, not beyond the faint hint of smithy work, but even that feels too distant to bring any comfort as the soothing sway of his ship slowly disappears. They were truly docked now, and the shackles were locked around his wrists and ankles. Something unpleasant rises in his throat, but he swallows it hard, makes his way for the board that gives the crew a way off the deck and boat, down to the city streets below.

Pausing as he took his first steps onto it, a glance back to his crew shows them all staring at him. A click of his tongue and a laugh, and he throws his hands up in a shrugging gesture, "if you do your work like you're supposed to, who am I to tell you what you can and can't do while we stay here? Get your asses into gear and you can have as much playtime as you want!" Cheers erupt from the deck as the crew scurries to finish what they can as soon as possible, and he waves a hand backwards, "I'll see you bastards at the taverns tonight, don't start too many fights without me, I'll need some of the actions for my nerves!"

Down to the streets he goes, glancing around the area as regular fishermen and sailors not apart of his fleet flit about, gathering their supplies for the day and avoiding him and his men as much as they can. Who wouldn't, really? Even for sailors they were rowdy, uncontrollable, and they stirred up trouble no matter where they went. Sorry, miss Ivelda, he really does what he can to keep them under control, he promises! At least he only has good news to report practically every time he returns. No one dared to face them, and those that did were laying in their deep graves, food for the fish.

Uneasiness still pokes at him, though, even as he tries to calm himself with the internal banter and shit talk he'd never mutter a word out loud to Ivelda. Something about every visit with the woman left him in a haze, nauseated, for weeks afterwards, gave him migraines and internal conflict that he could never solve, haunt him with nightmares of a tiny girl's scream that was so familiar, at the tip of his tongue, but when he looked to her face, there was nothing there.

A hand lands on his shoulder then, and in a swift move he has it in his grip, tightening as he turned around. At first he'd expected some sailor trying to look for a place to lay complaints over the noise already being caused by his busy workers, but instead it was one of his own. Glare softening quickly, he rolled his eyes, faint grin flashing straight white teeth in the direction of the lycanthrope that had put his free hand up in retreat. "Come on captain, don't break this poor sailor's wrist again, it just healed!" Ash's "plea" for mercy was met with Aetherius's grip loosening and dropping back down to his side. "Didn't mean ta scare ya bossman, just wanted to exchange a couple words before you're behind bars at the palace again." A shake of his wrist as he spoke with a half joking accent and slur, Ash's gaze glanced around the, before his head was tilting, pointed ears flitting slightly with the breeze and sounds. Aetherius's gaze remained for a moment, before arms crossed over his chest, puffing out slightly, "and? Out with it, our queen doesn't like when I'm late."

Ash's gaze flittered away for a moment there, a hand moving to rub the back of his head, only messing his disaster hair further. "Not meaning any offense, just wanted to offer. Need me to tag along with you for extra backup to the queen? You know, just so you don't feel like you're trapped alone. I know you hate goin', and well...none of us like to see how you get after it, so..."

"Mm? Saying I'm shit after my visits with the queen, huh? Really looking to be thrown into the port's swamp, I see." It's entirely playful; truly, the offer means a lot to him, but there was no way he'd ever let any of them accompany him through those halls, "offer's generous, Ash, but don't worry about it. You keep watch over the others while I'm away, and I'll join you for a drink tonight, hm? Now get off my back before you slow me down any longer, or I'll blame you if she's angry at my arrival." Ash's ears only drooped faintly, tail's wag slowing to a halt as he rolled his eyes and let his head fall back toward the sky, "don't say I didn't try, then! Good luck, Aetherius, don't get your ass kicked too hard." A light smack to the back of the wolf's head, and Aetherius turns his way back to the palace, a middle finger extended towards the man in mocking, "I'm more than capable of dealing with those piss boy servants and our queen!" Is all that's left for the docks to hear, and he's on his way.

As always, entry is easy for him and his status, slipping in through the gardens even with all the loathing stares he got from the lower ranking servants and guards, but he's not even allowed peace and quiet before a familiar voice pricks his ears.

"Aetherius, you've arrived?" Jiayi's soft, airy tone is unforgettable, and his gaze turns back to the elegantly dressed man sitting on one of the garden's benches nearby, gently shutting a book in his hands. Donning the hanfu he always wore during his downtime, he stood up from his spot, the airy material flowing softly with the movement and breeze. "I assume you're making your way to her majesty's chambers? Care to allow me to join you?"

He chokes back a groan at the other male's request, before letting out a soft sigh and nodding, "of course, how could I turn down my little junior's request, hm? Hurry up, before she yells at us both." Jiayi is quickly making his way to his side then, hands placed over his front as he makes pace with Aetherius's more heavy footed steps. "Have you been well?" Comes the other's first attempt at conversation, and he glances down to the shorter man, giving a shrug, "as long as I'm at sea, I'm always well. It's only here that I'm not." He mutters the last part, though he's sure Jiayi hears it loud and clear, watching his brows furrow slightly.

"It would be nice to see you here more, you know." Is all he says, and all Aetherius does in return is roll his eyes and pinch the bridge of his nose. They both knew he would rather die than visit more than required.

Making their way through the halls, it's not long before they come across the first familiar face, Adrian Wells. His head of bright red hair was unmistakeable, and Valken's gaze stays on him for a moment before Jiayi speaks up from the side, a slightly cheerful, "Hello, Adrian. Welcome back." Leaving him, before he returned to his straight posture with his hands behind his back. A small sway to his steps appeared with his pace now, comfortable and airy; he seemed content that so many of them were gathered here now.

The rest of the walk is mostly quiet, and he does his best to relish in the peace of it before the doors of the chambers catch his eyes, the bad taste on his tongue returning all too quickly. Jiayi spares him a glance as his face twists slightly, but as it settles he returns the concerned look to the ground, and then in front of himself. "Her Majesty seemed to be in a good mood today, so perhaps your meeting with her won't be so bad. Keep your mouth clean, though." He clicked his tongue at the words, heaving out a sigh before pressing his hand against the doors and letting them open, allowing the two of them to move in.

In comparison to Jiayi, he looks far from regal and composed; half slouching, keeping his steps the same, letting his gaze wander and letting himself act as he normally does around the palace. The woman should be used to his almost disrespectful manner by now, and he doesn't care to change it up. Glancing around the room does give him a view of the other in the room: Ryder, and oh so fortunately for him, he's arrived just in time to hear the latter man's gag worthy words and compliments. The bitter taste in his mouth grows, watching him suck up to the woman, but truthfully, who didn't a little at this point? At least enough for their safety. He'd quite frankly never allow himself to drop to the blondie's level, though.

Jiayi is already kneeling in respect for the woman, and he finally brings himself to do the same, falling carelessly onto one while using the other to rest his forearm on, head dipping low towards his queen, "Your Majesty," he says, raising his voice so the words come out clear and crisp, "I've returned from Rhindeval's seas, on time as you had requested. We didn't encounter much trouble these past months, but any who tried have been buried in the waters. A small island was discovered as well, though it is uninhabited and there's nothing of value in its sparse lands."

Something about a free day truly made his entire week. They were rare, when he was always so close under Ivelda and her control, her watch, and when he was in need within the ranks of the royal guard so often. Usually his downtime time was only nights for rest, when he got those too anyway. To be able to sit quietly in the gardens, read one of the books he'd gotten his hands on, just listen to the sounds of the birds and feel the soft breeze through his hanfu. No responsibilities, no risk of fights, no need to be on edge or uneasy in the face of his work and protecting Her Majesty.

This wasn't to say his work was horrible. Certainly, he could be stuck under the inescapable sun or horrid storms out at sea like Aetherius. He could be stuck spying on and picking off traitors like Adrian. Or...he could be...where Alcinder was, doing...what he did. Maybe Haru's job wouldn't be so bad, but he still wasn't sure what exactly his fellow servant did, and it had gone over his head when he'd tried to figure it out. Alchemy? Not for Jiayi. He'd stick to protecting and patrols, and then reading when possible. A much more peaceful life.

Flipping another page in his book, his ears caught the sounds drifting over, carried by the wind from the city below. Regular bustling, but noises from the docks seemed to be growing louder, and a glance up to the sky with closed eyes let him draw out from his book to think. Today...Aetherius was due back, wasn't he? And news of Adrian returning was in the air as well, or so he'd heard. A soft smile graced Jiayi's lips for a moment, a content hum leaving him. Perhaps they would enjoy sitting around for dinner together later?

A laugh breaks him from his thoughts then, smile turning somewhat melancholy for a moment. Of course not, his mind whispered, you may enjoy their company, but they rarely get along with each other, with you half the time too. You should know better, Jiayi. Truly he does, but he can't help the wishful thinking, the lingering hopes. His dinners were often spent alone or guarding his queen, making sure nothing was poisoned or tampered with. It would likely stay that way for years to come, too. I'm lucky the queen allows in the room to watch over meals, anyway. It's the only time I'm not entirely alone, isn't it?

Strands of hair slip over his shoulder and down into his lap, and Jiayi looks down at them with a small sigh. Nothing to worry about, nothing to think about, just enjoy the quiet time with the relaxed nerves and low caution.

The quiet remains for quite some time, pages continuing to turn and flutter in the wind as he read along, but soon there's the hushed whispers and distasteful tone held by the servants wandering and caring for the flowers, and his gaze slowly raises.

"The bastard is back, even after causing such chaos when he last left." "Why hasn't the queen tired of him and his crew yet? They should just freeze to death in the cold of Typhcrest's waters if she won't be rid of them." "Does he have no shame? He'll probably just create more work for us servants before his stay is over."

He wasn't sure anyone else would gather such irritated words from the lowly servants, and with a newly warmed smile, he watched as the taller, intimidating man made his way through the green grasses and rainbow-shaded flower bushes of the gardens, gaze as irritable and grumpy as always. He knew Aetherius wouldn't want to see him, talk to him, let alone walk with him, but still he parted his lips, his book gently closing in his hands without so much of a sound, "Aetherius, you've arrived?" Blue eyes turn to meet his golden ones, and he tilts his head slightly before setting his book aside on the marble bench. "I assume you're making your way to her majesty's chambers? Care to allow me to join you?"

Jiayi can see the man choke back a groan, eyebrows twitching downwards as his lips follow a similar direction, but he keeps his composure while he does, expectantly awaiting an answer from him. Finally, he breaks and nods, letting out the building tension with his words, "of course, how could I turn down my little junior's request, hm? Hurry up, before she yells at us both." His smile turns a little strained at the final words; Aetherius certainly knew how to hit something that would really make him pick up his pace. The last thing he wanted was to try and endure one of Her Majesty's fits of rage.

Silence falls again, as it always does with Aetherius in presence, and while Jiayi doesn't mind quiet walks with company, it's not every day that he gets to be accompanied by the other man. Why would he waste the opportunity to talk when he probably wouldn't see him again for another several months? Using up the little time he had was the wisest thing he could do to get his fill of interaction here.

"Have you been well?" It's his first attempt, and he looks up to him as he speaks, soft hope that he wouldn't respond as sarcastically and vulgar as he normally did when they spoke together. It's a genuine question anyway, after having not seen him in so long, with only rare news of their travels and business out on the waters of Rhindeval. Finally, Aetherius looks down to him, offering a lazy shrug, "as long as I'm at sea, I'm always well. It's only here that I'm not." His last words burn the brand stick into his chest, and his brows furrow slightly, gaze turning down as he chewed at his lip lightly. Of course. He knew that the captain had no desire to ever be near Lostein or any of the servants, the queen, that resided here. Still, it pricks at his heart a bit.

"...it would be nice to see you here more, you know." The words come out low, quiet, and he knows that the other doesn't care for what Jiayi thinks would be nice, for what he might like. It only confirms as he rolls his eyes, and a soft breath leaves him at that movement and response. Of course not, don't be so foolish.

The walk continues, just as quiet as before, and he doesn't try and stimulate more conversation for the time being. The man had been kind enough so far, not too many harsh responses, and he didn't want to push his luck quite yet. Still, his tongue feels restless, but as they pass through a hall it finds its release in the sight of Adrian making his way back from Ivelda's chambers. A slightly brighter expression crosses his face as he leans forward towards the red haired man, smile returning, "Hello, Adrian. Welcome back." Would the other man stay for long? Probably not if he had the past stays to go off of, but for now it made him happy to see two rarer faces within the cold, lonely halls of the palace.

The rest of the walk is silent up until they spot the doors ahead. A slight picking sensation to his shoulder brings his gaze up only in time to see Aetherius's expression twisting with faint disgust, and a concerned look comes over his face at the sight. Was he planning on entering with that sort of look? Ivelda would definitely not let him off, he should know better than that!

Sucking in a short breath, he tries to compose himself again before speaking, a little more suggestive than just mentioning the woman's mood, "Her Majesty seemed to be in a good mood today, so perhaps your meeting with her won't be so bad. Keep your mouth clean, though." Please, wipe that look off your face, unless you want to be lashed at! The words are received with the click of a tongue, but the expression settles again, and Jiayi lets out a silent breath of relief. He was fully convinced that the man had a death wish, acted in such a way that of course he'd receive punishment from their queen, but that didn't make it anymore pleasant to see or hear when he received it. Only a sadist would derive joy from something like that...

Finally the doors are pushed open, the air from the inner chambers rushing out as its released, and Jiayi follows the other man inside, close behind him. They're in her halls, and he can hear Ryder's voice as he speaks to their queen, as flattering as ever. The closer they approach, the more Aetherius underperforms in front of all of them, letting himself slouch and his gaze wander, and Jiayi grits his teeth slightly at the sight, but still he kneels before the woman, much longer before the man does, and closer to the blonde that had been speaking before. Another of his faintly warm smiles makes his way over to him from his kneeling position on the floor, a silent form of hello before his head is back to dipping down to Ivelda in respect as Aetherius finally kneels himself and gives his typical report. Truly, he didn't have much to report to her himself, but he was due for a direct visit anyway, for that almost monthly drink and her words. Don't question, just obey, as you always have.

”Pain is a pleasure in disguise.”
Hex Code ~ #0101DF

*Warning: This post may contain bodily harm that could be triggering*

Deep within the lowest part of the sprawling fortress that was Queen Ivelda’s castle, a certain dankness filled the air, settling within one’s nostrils with a putrid smell that could make those unaccustomed to it vomit from a mere whiff of it. For one man in particular, however, this dankness and darkness was his preferred dwelling much to the fear of many within the castles who had instantly leaped to the conclusion of the man being a vampire. He did, however, get the job done, as one would say, so it led to little argument in that regard as he had never failed to retrieve any information from a single individual - ever.

A repetitive dripping sound filled the air and the soft whimpers of a young man and woman echoed within the stoned walls, on the rare occasion becoming overlapped by the soft chuckle of the snowy-haired man who loomed above the shackled couple.

The couple in question sat within an iron-lined cell, the man no more than 30 in years and currently cuffed to the far wall by each limb, was bleeding and barely conscious, his face distorted into an ugly, swollen mess, but despite that it was clear that he was quite handsome when unharmed. The woman, on the other hand, no more than 22 in age and decidedly pretty, lay chained to a tilted wooden table, by each limb as well, and was spread out so that each limb was completely stretched and apart. The couple were positioned so that they could see one another, and the girl’s once-pretty face was red and streaked with tears, her eyes swollen and pink as she sobbed over her lover’s disfiguration.

Meanwhile, the man responsible stood beside the young male prisoners, his lips curled slightly at each corner as he seemed to almost revel in the groans and sobs of the victims under his care. Before either of them could react, a pale hand shot out and clenched in the black hair of the man, wrenching his head back so that his face was revealed. The snowy-man snorted and chuckled a bit at the sight of the prisoner’s eyes wide with terror, tears streaking his swollen, bloodied face as he attempted to sputter out through broken teeth and lips a plea for mercy, for both himself and his lover. It was clear, however, that the snowy-man was not one to be merciful, as he simply let out a low chuckle, one that quickly developed into a slightly-insane giggle. Wrenching the man’s head back even further, to a seemingly impossible degree, Alcinder put his face close to the man’s, nearly touching their cheeks. He let out a low chuckle once more, his free hand gripping the man’s jaw and forcing him to look in the woman’s direction, who stared back with a pleading look on her face.

”Now here’s the deal, little lamb,” Alcinder practically purred, his soft voice causing chills to crawl up most individual’s entire being at the odd hum to it, an odd hum that simply did not sit quite right with normal people. ”My dear, beautiful queen is in need of the information that only you possess, and as her loyal inquisitor, it is my sworn duty to do anything necessary to retrieve said information.” Gentling his grip a bit on the man’s face, he stroked his cheek slightly, almost soothingly. ”Now, I don’t want to do anything to hurt that pretty girl over there, but unfortunately for all of us, unless you give me what my queen wants, I’m going to have to resort to some … unseemly measures,” he smiled, but the smile was dark and when the man’s gaze flicked to his face, he paled even further, if that was possible. ”I certainly don’t think that you would like for that to happen, and I’m fairly positive that she would prefer to avoid that as well; however, I will do what I have to do,” he finished, his voice no longer dripping with a false sugary-sweetness but instead dark and haunting, his eyes wide and slightly crazed. A small, somewhat deranged smile lingered on his lips, and he met the man’s gaze. He trembled under the ferocity of the piercing red eyes, but with a clenched jaw, he seemed resolute in his stance when it came to not speaking.

Alcinder smirked, almost seeming to be pleased with this proceeding of events, and he straightened. ”So be it.” Turning his face towards the girl, his smirk developed into a sadistic smile that widened his red eyes, giving him a crazed expression that caused the woman to shake from the mere look of him. ”Sorry lady, but it seems like your boyfriend here really wants to get off watching me play with you. You have no one to blame here but him,” he said with a thumb pointed in the man’s direction, who had his head hung in shame. Noticing that, Alcinder once more gripped the man’s hair and ripped his head up, causing a yelp of pain to escape his lips. Alcinder got his face close to the man’s, so that their noses were touching. ”You think you get the satisfaction of looking away from what you did?” He laughed low, practically spitting on the man’s face. ”Oh, no - that’s definitely not how this works.” With that said, he reached behind the man to the wall and pulled the leather straps that hung from it and looping it around the man’s head. It was a home-made torture device that Alcinder had designed himself, and as he latched it into place, he settled the front part so that it held the man’s eyelids opens, making it impossible for him to look away or blink. As always for him, he left the man’s mouth open, looking forward to the screams of pain that would undoubtedly escape those lovely lips. Propping his hands on his knees so that he was level with the man, Alcinder gave a deranged smile into his face. ”Now, time for us to have some fun. Shall we?” he asked, bopping the man on the nose with his finger.

He straightened and made his way across the room, ignoring the yells of the man who did not utter a word of having changed his mind, but instead cursed Alcinder for the demon that he was. As he reached his rolling table of tools, Cinder ran his fingers along the shiny metal torture devices, nearly shivering in delight at the feel of their blades. When he snatched up an intricate kinfe, his personal favorite, and admired the blade as he approached the young woman.

Once he had reached her, he began to trace the blade up her body, starting at her belly button and trailing his way upwards, reveling in the soft whimpers that escaped her as he did so. The blade passed between her breasts, pressed dangerously hard upon her throat, and followed the arch over her chin. When he reached her lips, he moved so that he was directly at her side, the blade pressed menacingly into the corner of her mouth. A twisted smirk turned up his lips and his blazing eyes bored into hers, showing the fiery pits of hell. ”What pretty lips you have … I’m sure that many men have enjoyed tasting their rosy plumpness … It would be a shame if anything were to happen to them,” he practically purred, and before either of his victims could react, he had slashed upwards, creating a long, jagged cut from the corner of the woman’s lips and halfway across her face. Blood spurted across his face and the woman screamed in pure agony, wrenching against her shackles in an attempt to pressure the blood. Alcinder’s free hand shot up and over her mouth, drawing more screams of pain, yet muffled ones at that, and with his blood-coated, blade-wielding hand, he lifted a single finger to his lips to shush the woman. As her screams turned to choked sobs, his tongue snaked out, licking at the blood streaking his fingers. He released the girl roughly, as though disgusted by the mere touch of her, and he turned to face the man who had up until that point been screaming as well, yet Alcinder had been so engrossed in the torture of the woman that he had neglected to notice. It took a mere second for him to cross back over to the man, who was sobbing uncontrollably at this point, and he crouched before him once more, that deranged smile on his face again as his ruby eyes bored into the man’s.

”Now, how about that information?”

Adrian Wells
Code-#30660C

When Adrian left the throne room, he immediately saw Sir Ryder heading in his direction. Adrian himself wasn't feel too social, but he did nod towards the queen's advisor. Right now Adrian was starving so he started walking faster, but soon saw two other of Ivelda's men; one being the head of her naval fleet, Captain Aetherius and a member of the Royal Guard Sir Jiayi. The two couldn't be anymore different in both mannerisms and appearance. Aetherius was very rugged, muscular, and seemed to be in a bad mood most of the time. However, Adrian had sailed with him once for a mission to the Emerald Isles, so he saw a much more 'cordial' man and it was obvious he preferred the open sea then the land. Adrian loved traveling too, so he could relate to the man in that aspect. Jiaya was way more easy-going and refined. However he was not one to be underestimated. For a time when Adrian was being trained in the ways of the sword, he often found himself being paired against Jiaya and he was definitely the superior swordsman, at least when it came to straight up swordplay. Adrian though had to learn how to play dirty in order to get his job done. It was something he wish he didn't have to do, but he tolerated it since in the end it was for the good of the kingdom. Still he was relieved he wouldn't have any missions for the foreseeable future, at least he hoped.

As he approached the pair, who were also heading for the throne room, Jiayi casually greeted him and Adrian grinned and waved at him as he passed the pair.

After leaving the palace, he headed for the stables to get his horse, Little John. Leaving the palace grounds all together, he headed into town to get something to eat. Something about this place always seemed to affect him, but he couldn't figure out why. After arriving in town, he left his horse at an inn's nearby stable. The inn itself always had good food. Going in, he made his way to the bar.

"Good morning, Adrian. Hadn't seen you in some time." the barkeep, James, said with a sad smile on his face.

The man had been there since Adrian could remember. Adrian's earliest memory had been when he was 10 and learned that Queen Ivelda had saved him after his parents were killed. It had been this inn he initially stayed at until he was old enough to move out on his own, which was when he was 16. This inn was like a 2nd home to him, and the barkeep and his wife were like parents to him. However, they always looked to have permanent sad looks. He asked why once, and they told him they lost their children a long time ago. What Adrian didn't know was that Ivelda killed them because the townsfolk had tried saving him and the other princes initially after the takeover. Ivelda had killed their children to make an example to those who would oppose her.

"Yes, I just got done with another mission, James. It took a while to complete. I am starved so could you ring me up some food please?"

The barkeep sighed. Pretty much everyone in the town knew that "Adrian" was their beloved Prince Richard and had been brainwashed by Ivelda. He hoped that someday he would remember. While the idea of rebellion was hardly ever whispered, James knew everyone hoped that the Sorceress Lilith and other princesses of Rhindeval would come back and help set things right. Rumor had been Ivelda banished them to a parallel world. Many people though were quickly losing hope, but James and his wife would never give up that hope.

"I'll have it right up for you Adrian. It's good to see you."

After eating, Adrian went to retrieve his horse and soon left for home.

Ivelda Evers
Code-#003300

As soon as Adrian left, Ivelda saw her advisor come in. Ryder, originally Prince Apollyon, was indispensable to Ivelda. She had been smart to raise him to be in the position in he was now. When she had captured him, his twin sister, and the other royal children, the blonde hair boy kept his wits about him. Only time she saw him loose control was when he was separated from his sister. Briefly, Ivelda thought of the princesses and her younger sister, Lilith. One major reason why she decided to keep the boys over the girls was because she simply preferred them. Also, she knew the children would be stronger together than apart.
So best to keep them separated. It would have been easier to kill the girls and Lilith, but Ivelda felt a tiny bit of pity, enough to not go through with that plan and instead banish them.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Ryder greeted her. Oh yes, keeping the princes was definitely the better option. She would have complimented him, but the doors opened again to reveal two more of her princes, Captain Aetherius, formally Prince Valken, and Sir Jiayi, formerly Prince Xiaoli, coming into the room. Delighted, Ivelda waited for Aetherius to finish before replying herself.

"Thank you for your report Aetherius. I can see you're just as pleasant as the last time you reported. I already another job for you, but that can wait for tomorrow to give you a chance to rest. So, Sir Jiayi, do you have anything to report?"

After he did, Ivelda addressed all three men in the room.

"Since all three of you are here, I think I'll give you three my special drink now. Stay here and I'll be right back."

Unbeknownst to her though, Iris was there in her pixie form and was relieved to know Ivelda was giving the princes that awful potion that kept them loyal to her. Making sure to be extra careful, Iris slipped in when Ivelda opened the door to room. As Ivelda made the potion, Iris was able to memorise the ingredients and their amounts. When Ivelda was done, she put the three drinks on a tray and magically levitated it front of her, blissfully unaware of Iris's actions as the fairy left the room too before the door was closed and locked. Approaching the trio, Ivelda offered each of them a goblet.

”Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it is a memory.” ~Dr. Seuss
Hex Code ~ #FF0000

“Don’t forget to eat your breakfast!”

The loud voice belonged to a surprisingly small, gentle looking woman. Large golden eyes peered from behind thick brown waves of soft, flowing hair, and said eyes were currently trained upon a girl who, despite their physical differences, was clearly her daughter. The girl in question was indeed a woman, but due to her youthful looks appeared younger, and the bright pink of her hair and eyes did little to stem the physical judgement that she received from outside sources. Those piercing pink eyes rolled, as though annoyed, but there was a smile on the girl’s face as she glanced over her shoulder at her mother, tying her shoes as she responded.

”Yes, mama, I know. I’m going to grab something on the way to the park, don’t worry,” she assured her, and at her words and smile the woman relaxed a bit, holding out a large bag that was nearly bulging at the zippers towards her. Willow straightened and took it gratefully, slinging the shoulder strap over her head for easier convenience and adjusting the backpack that she wore to center the weight of both bags. Going on her toes to reach her mother as she stood a step lower than her in the entryway, she pecked an affectionate kiss on the elder woman’s cheek before she made her way towards the doors. ”Don’t forget to feed Maco for me,” she reminded her, and her mother nodded with a sweet smile. “Of course, how could I forget that cute little fluffball?” she asked, and as if on cue, the small rabbit in question hopped towards the duo, his little nose twitching in excitement as he did a small twist in the air as he jumped. Her mother bent and scooped the little furball in her arms, allowing him to hop onto her shoulder and settle in happily with a small scratch on the head from Odette. Willow smiled gratefully and with one more farewell, she was out the door of their house and crossing the entrance to the land that was the Vesta Family Dojo.

It didn’t take her long to walk to the nearby coffee shop, as it was only two blocks from the Dojo, and once there, Willow gleefully ordered two breakfast sandwiches, hashbrowns, a side of bacon, and a muffin alongside her delicious, Trenta sized Iced Caramel Coffee - with extra whipped cream, of course. Once it was done, she took it happily and made her way to a nearby table, ignoring the stares of onlookers at the small, brightly-yet-oddly-colored girl and her bag bulging with food. She settled in and ate her food with a smile on her face - food was always her happy place - and as she ate, Willow stared outside at the gleaming sunlight, an odd feeling of comfort and familiarity settling over her at the sight.

It didn’t take her long to finish eating, and after she tossed the balled up paper bag that once held her food into a nearby recycling bin, she was off, the remaining portion of her Iced Coffee clutched in her hand.

The walk to the park wasn’t far, as their Dojo was quite close to it as well as the university, much to Willow’s happiness, and when she arrived she made her way straight for the outdoor fighting ring that had been constructed by the university’s Martial Arts team the night before. Luckily for her, she had come dressed to begin so she wouldn’t need to change, as she was already clad in her black gi, adorned with a black, red, and white belt that bespoke her fifth level black belt status. As she approached the sparring matts, Willow dropped her bag beside one of the front chairs that had been set up for the onlookers to rest in, popped in her headphones, and immediately began stretching, ignoring the other members of the various martial arts teams that were beginning to gather. Before any match, serious or not, she needed a certain amount of time to prepare, and in doing so she needed absolute solidarity in order to get to the mental faculties that were needed to win.

The spars went off without a hitch, having drawn in surprisingly large crowds of people that both wanted to see the fights as well as those who wished to support the Martial Arts teams, both financially and emotionally. Willow easily won her fights - her partners each had a look of defeat before they even stepped onto the mat - and when she received her first-place medal alongside a gift card to any of the local eateries, she let out a sound of excitement, always easily won over by food.

Of course, after such a day, a shower was much needed, and she gratefully took one in the nearby rec center, which had happily obliged with allowing all of the volunteers and competitors access to its bathroom facilities, and once she was freshly bathed and no longer a sweaty-mess, she donned a simple outfit that sported her love for her favorite band, and with a tug of her beanie onto her head, she was off, her MMA bags safely secured in the office of the rec center.

As Willow explored the festival, she marveled over the beautifully crafted objects at the different stalls. She had yet to bump into any of her friends, but those who she recognized bid her hello and she did in return with a sweet smile, perusing the wares despite her inability to afford any of them.

So lost in thought was she that she didn’t even notice the gathering group of women, and as she turned, she slammed directly into a small green individual, one that she immediately recognized as a classmate of hers. Willow’s cheeks turned pink in embarrassment as she quickly caught the other girl’s upper arms in an effort to keep her from falling - she did bump into her pretty hard - and a stricken expression crossed her face.

”Oh Gods, I’m so sorry, Cassie! It was an accident, I promise! Are you okay?” she breathlessly shot out, her words being spoken at nearly a mile a minute.

Picking away at her fruit cup lasts for a decent amount of time, until she's nearly finished with it and about to move on, but he movements are halted and she finds herself staring down at the green-haired girl that was oh-so familiar, someone in her english class that she had seen occasionally within it if she gave herself the time and effort to look around at the faces of classmates. Her name was...

Cassie. It's Cassie, come on. How could you forget her? Little bundle of energy that seems to make friends with everyone. Is that what being extroverted gets you? She was quite content with her little group of "delinquents," or so the staff and professors had taken to calling them. Did she care? Hell no.

There was only confusion with why the slightly shorter girl was speaking with her. Most people avoided her, or only spoke to give a show of niceness and friendly personas, but there was no reason for people to approach her in a public space like this unless they were actually friends. Or at least, that's what she thought. Cassie didn't think of her as a friend, did she? Probably just acquaintance. Yeah, that sounded more sensible.

Finishing off the little plastic cup, Eloise grabbed a napkin from nearby to clean off her hand from any of the fruit juice that had gotten onto her fingers; getting a stain on the dress at this point would be a stupid thing to do, and the rainbow colors of fruit would show up bright and ready against the white and grey of her dress if she let it get anywhere. The black was probably safe, though, but that didn't mean she wanted to wear a dirty dress anyway. She wasn't a slob, thank you, and if she was going to be stuck in this dress for the rest of the night, she wanted it to remain as comfortable as possible.

Looking back down at Cassie, she's faced with the girl's confused expression, and Eloise wants to groan. Girl, I know I look weird wearing a dress, and anyone who has ever met me knows I'd rather die than show it off in public like this. You can blame Mrs. Barnes! Stop the staring already!

Staring is finally over when Cassie speaks, though, and Eloise's brow twitches slightly at her words. "You look great but you look like you wanna die!" Why thank you, so kind of you to say. Of course she was uncomfortable, who wouldn't be!? A glance around said that pretty much everyone here wouldn't be and weren't with their dresses right now, but her point still stands. Who, as in Eloise, wouldn't be uncomfortable in this goddamn ballgown?

Groaning slightly and forcing herself to straighten out her shoulders, to look a little more "appealing" in terms of appearances (she was technically supposed to help advertise the performance later, and risking getting docked for not "participating" even during a non-performing hour was not on her to-do list. Let me pass the class Mrs. Barnes! I swear to God I'll even pay you!) Still, the irritable look doesn't leave her face, even if it lightens slightly with the opportunity to half vent to a classmate who had opened the conversation herself.

"Of course I'm not comfortable." She mutters, running a hand over her skirt to smooth it out, and rolling her shoulder slightly to try and help with the discomfort of the sleeves, readjust it somehow. "You think I wanna be here? You can thank my professor for my appearance and presence. This fair has practically become my final grade." Dull colored eyes look down at Cassie's vibrant green, before she lets out a sigh again, "not to ruin your fun, but I definitely am not here by choice. If I could change back into a pair of jeans and a hoodie, I think I would be in heaven right about now. Lucky you, not being forced to get all dressed up." A short laugh leaves her, airy and half sarcastic. Wanna take my place, Cassie? You get the grade and the dress and I can get the comfortable outfit and the freedom.

Her continuous complaints are halted though, at the sudden new arrival of bright pink hair and two girls almost on their asses right in front of her. She chokes back a laugh though, and watches as the pink haired one - it was...Willow, right? Yeah, absolutely, how could she forget that girl's name? - apologized in a flustered panic. Of course, the realization of who they both were brought the faintest groan out of her again; not one, but two extroverts? She couldn't even balance the personalities anymore.

"It was an accident Willow, I'm sure Cassie doesn't blame you. No bloody noses or broken bones here anyway, right?"

liliya fae.
dialogue ; #f6a3b1. – thought ; #82ab9f.

Gleeful smile turned only brighter as she settled into the conversation with her professor and classmate, and Liliya's eyes looked practically starry as she watched the older woman move, speak. Her dress was stunning, and she was a little jealous that she hadn't thought to find something of the style for herself. Still, it probably wouldn't have looked as nice on her as it did Ms. Evers. No need to pout! I put so much effort into this dress, it'd be stupid not to feel just as pretty in it!

Still, something pricks at her heart as she watches the woman, an odd sense of familiarity even though there was nothing familiar about the dress or the situation. She'd always get these sensations around Lilith, around a handful of classmates and upperclassmen too, impossible to explain and always just on the tip of her tongue. She wouldn't let it bother her for now though; why not just relish in the renaissance period pieces? She could take inspiration for her next project and portfolio pieces through it, and both Dawn and Lilith's had easily won a spot in direct inspiration for it.

Moving down to comfortably stand at Dawn's side, her gaze settled back onto their professor again as she spoke, kindly as always, "of course you may tag along, Liliya. That gown of yours is lovely! You look like a real princess. Sadly, I will soon have to return to my booth to start my performance. Both of you can watch it if you want." The words brought a starrier eyed look to Liliya then, and she puffed her chest out just a bit with some sense of pride and joy, a joking, "you compliment better than my boyfriend, Ms. Evers. He'd be sooo~ mad if he knew," leaving her. It was a little true, she wouldn't lie. The second half of her words gained a faint pout to the pinkette's lips, though, as she let out a soft sigh, foot poking gently at the grass of the park. Leaving already? She'd just joined their group; the professor didn't feel like she had been kicked out by Liliya's presence, did she?

Of course, the next words brightened her right back up again, and she gave a quick nod in agreement to stop by. "Yes please! Yes please! I missed upperclassman Althea and James's performance earlier, so I'll make up for it with this! Make sure you save the best stories for when me and Dawnie come back, okay?" Not that Liliya was planning on missing any of them, but if she got distracted...she didn't really trust her daydreamy classmate to remind her the time.

With those words, her hand moves down to take the smaller girl's hand in her typical friendly manner, tugging at her lightly to begin moving, "let's stop at the game stalls first, 'kay? My friends ditched before we really got to try our hands at any of them!" Another small tug, and whether or not the girl is following her or being partly dragged at this point by Liliya's excitement, she's moving on towards the stalls. Excited, childish joy is already filling her again after the disappointment of the date; as always, nothing can keep the sunshine Liliya down for long! Perfect day, even if there was a little bit of a hiccup! (Internally, there's the ever growing sense of dread that fills up higher and higher in the background, but with so many distractions it was more than easy to ignore it and let it fester silently and unnoticed in the background.

Her hold on Dawn's hand stays there for awhile, happily swinging between the two of them as she moves around, helps them dodge the crowds and loose children that only add to the chaos of the fair. Her gaze is sweeping the prizes, searching for the stall that had the cutest stuffed animals she could find, before she's spotted them; pink colored, fuzzy animals of all different kinds, real or fantasy. "Let's go there first!" is all she says before getting closer, but he gaze is drawn to the brownish-blonde hair off the corner of her sight, and she's rerouting to seek out the ever familiar upperclassman who had only been passing by, not stopping anywhere.

"Miss Thea!" Comes her call, a bright and cute wave and smile from the girl, still keeping hold on Dawn's hand all the while as the approaches the woman. Her dress sways lightly with the movement, and soon she's settled comfortably in front of her before giving a half bow in apology, "I didn't make it to your performance, even though I was hoping I could after seeing the dress in my class's workshop! I'm really sorry!" She's straightened out again soon enough though, glancing back to Dawn and then back to Althea. "Did it go well? I'm sure it was great! You probably stole the stage with your dress and beauty!" A small giggle, before she pauses, looking to both sides and behind the older girl and then back to her odd eyes, "if you aren't attending with anyone else, wanna join me and Dawn? We're gonna try the games and then we're headed for Ms. Evers stories later. I bet she'd be really happy if you stopped in too!"

”It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not." ~André Gide
Hex Code ~ #088A29

It was going to be a busy day, he could already tell. Ryder stood beside his Queen as she drank her tea when they were almost immediately interrupted by the entrance of Jaiyi Lang and Aetherius Ruelle. The sight of the duo was strange - they made an interesting pair, and Ryder couldn’t recall any of his Birds having mentioned the two as close. Perhaps they had simply bumped into one another on their way to meet the Queen?

Moving on from the thought, Ryder tuned in at the end of Aetherius’s report, just catching the jist of what he had come to tell their Queen. He would be stupid to not notice the disdainful look that the rough man gave him, and simply chalked it up to jealousy, as what else could it be? Of course the other man was jealous of his position - he had everything he could ever want or need, delicious food, and never had to leave for extended trips. Ryder, on the other hand, could find nothing to be jealous of when it came to Aetherius, He would be lying if he said he wasn’t impressed by the man’s skill in combat and navigation, though, so he simply ignored the look that he was given, glancing over at Jiayi as he moved on.

When Aetherius finished speaking and Ivelda disappeared into her private potion room, Ryder fixated a piercing gaze on the two other men but said nothing, ever the one for stoicism.

It wasn’t long before their Queen had returned with a hovering tray of drinks, and he made a slight face at the swirling liquid as she passed one of the goblets to him. For Ryder, it was always a sad day when he had to drink his Queen’s potion - he knew it was what was best for him, but like a child and medicine, he simply could never get used to the taste.

Once he had tossed the liquid back, his features scrunching a bit, he returned the goblet to Ivelda’s tray. Almost instantly, his mind felt misty, and his eyes took on a blank, glossy sheen, his expression just as empty. After a few moments of this sleepy-fog, Ryder felt himself returning and he shook off the sensation that had become something he was rather used to, and ever the studious Advisor, he moved to his Queen’s side, making himself available to help in any way she see fit.

Cassie Peters
Code- #46935C

Cassie should have known better than to ask if Eloise was uncomfortable. Anyone with eyes should have been able to figure that out. However, Cassie was raised to see if someone was okay. Cassie herself at one point hated her own green hair for she got teased for it and even got in trouble for it when teachers in junior high thought she dyed it and she had to get a written statement from her family that it was naturally green. It was slow, but she grew to accept her green hair and even grew to love it for it made her stand out. Still, she didn't know anyone else with green hair and couldn't help but wonder if her green hair was some kind of genetic mutation. Her hair and her peridot pendant were reminders that she did have another family out there, if they still were. It was another thing that bothered her too, the fact she couldn't remember the first 8 years of her life. She vaguely remembered the adoption place she was at, but it was all blurry. Cassie didn't even know her birth name. She was given the name Cassie by her mother, who had Greek ancestry. She did contemplate going with Cassandra, but felt Cassie was more fitting. Cassie was glad she did for Cassandra felt too ornate and royal, which Cassie definitely wasn't!

After Eloise finished talking, Cassie was about to answer her but out of the blue felt something or someone crash into her. She would have fallen hard but this same person grabbed her by the arms and managed to hold her up. Still, her head hurt thanks to the collision, but it could have been worse. She vaguely heard, the person's apology but didn't connect the dots on who it was at first since she was trying to catch her breath. Luckily, she heard Eloise mention the person's name and it was Willow. Oh yeah, she recognize that name now. Like Eloise, Willow was in the same English course as her.

Composing herself, Cassie managed to get her balance back and gestured Willow to let her go.

”I’ll be okay, just need something for my head.”

She had a Phany pack on her, and she always carried Advil on her so taking that and a bottle of water, she took some. She figured she ought to sit down somewhere.

”I think I’ll head off, I’ll see the two of you again soon,”she said before leaving them.

Dawn Henderson and Lilith Evers
Hexcodes- #547B9 and #C71585

Dawn pretty much stayed silent as Liliya and Ms. Evers interacted. The pink hair girl had so much energy that it was hard to keep up with her words. So much so that Dawn was vaguely aware of her taking her hand and pulling her away from their professor.

She had to pick up her gown or else she would fall down. In fact she kept looking down the entire time to see where her feet were. She did hear what Liliya said and was tempted to lift her head up, but didn't.

Finally they seem to stop after Liliya reached someone she called out too. It was a name she didn't recognize though. However, as soon as she caught her breath, Dawn lifted her head and saw the person Liliya was talking to. She felt her breath hitched a bit, like she was experiencing the same deja vu as the first time she met both Ms. Evers and Liliya. Her eyes went downward and she did see a green pendant, which was probably an emerald. Same as last time, Dawn continued to remain silent.

After the two girls left, Lilith went back to her booth.

Once she was ready, she called out, "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! Gather around and learn tales of yore and wonder! My name is Madame Lilith and I am a sorceress who has travel far and wide! Come, come and don't be shy!"

A crowd soon gathered around her and Lilith began telling them stories. What they didn't know was that all of these stories were true, for they were about the history of the kingdoms of Rhindeval.

”Time is a figure eight;
At its center - the city of Deja Vu.” ~ Robert Brault

Speech Code ~ #0B610B

The wares being sold at this year’s festival were surprisingly impressive, or so Althea thought as she perused the different booths set up throughout the park. Each table held interesting and eye-catching trinkets of various sorts, from jewelry to decor and so much more - there were many wonderful things to see. She ran her fingers over an intricately designed mask, admiring the craftsmanship, but just as easily moved along to the next booth, knowing the value of her money whether or not she had a good amount of it.

Althea paused mid-step as a table caught her eye - it was a palm reading booth, and despite her skepticism, it wasn’t like she had anything better to do - what few ‘friends’ she had were busy with other fair duties, if they could be called friends, and her siblings were at tutoring lessons. As per usual, her parents were both busy with work, so that left her alone to amuse herself - something she was more than accustomed to.

Ten dollars later - of course she would tip the woman - and Althea found herself sliding into the surprisingly comfortable chair across from the medium. As she did, the woman smiled, her eyes shrouded in shadows as she kept her head somewhat lowered, and with an outstretched hand she motioned for Althea to take it, which she did slowly, uncertainly.

”Madam Alda will now tell you your future, my dear,” she spoke with a hushed voice, clearly overdoing the theatrics of the whole process as an indulgence, to herself or to Althea, she couldn’t tell. She stifled an eyeroll, instead opting to narrow her gaze a bit in trepidation for the coming fortune. A flipped hand and a gentle tracing followed as the seer moved a finger over her palm, murmuring so softly under her breath that Althea couldn’t have heard the words even if she had wanted to. After several moments of this, during which Althea squirmed a bit in discomfort, the woman finally smiled, seemingly pleased with herself.

”Madam Alda sees many eventful happenings in your very near future, child,” she began, her voice whimsical as she attempted to add some mysticism to the reading. As expected, she began with what most mediums believed every person wanted to hear - romance.”This line - it says that you will soon meet a strong, handsome man; a man that was once a part of your life, but is no more. This line,” she pointed to another, indicating that specific curve, ”it says that you will also soon meet an individual near and dear to your heart - someone long forgotten but still so strongly bonded to your soul.” She paused, moving her finger to a broken line and her expression darkened a bit. "This line speaks of danger, fear, and hurt. There are tumultuous events that will happen soon to you, and this break in particular warns of a drastic change where you will have to make many difficult decisions that will wholly affect the rest of your days.” At that, the woman released her hand, seeming a bit concerned over what she had seen. Althea rubbed idly at her wrist, her brows furrowed.

”Wait, I-I am a bit confused. Who are these people that I have apparently forgotten? How will I come to meet them?” The seer simply smiled softly and shook her head but said no more, making it obvious that she had said all that she had seen. Frustratedly, Althea pushed herself to her feet and stomped away - she never should have spent any money on that scam of a booth. Of course cet escroc* was completely full of it. There was no such thing as seeing the future, and there was no such thing as magic.

"Miss Thea!"

Jerking instantly from her thoughts, Althea skidded to a stop, her head moving back and forth as she attempted to see the owner of the voice that had shouted her name so familiarly. Fortunately, the area of the fair that they were in wasn’t that crowded, otherwise she may have had difficulty spotting the pink and blond bobs moving excitedly in her direction - or, well, Lilya was moving in her direction. The blond girl - if she recalled, her name was Dawn and she had spotted her a few times across campus - more or less was dragged behind the former girl, almost stumbling in order to keep up.

Despite this odd approach, Althea smiled gently at the pair, her body shifting a bit so that she faced the other two. "I didn't make it to your performance, even though I was hoping I could after seeing the dress in my class's workshop! I'm really sorry! Did it go well? I'm sure it was great! You probably stole the stage with your dress and beauty!" Althea gave the girl a slightly sweeter smile, holding the air of an older sister with the expression. ”You flatter me too much, sucré**. It went quite well, thankfully, but that was only thanks to all of those involved. Without everyone doing their fair share, it would have been impossible to pull off.” she blushed a bit as she spoke, clearly embarrassed by the compliments, almost seeming to wave off the words. She noticed Liliya’s wandering gaze before it flicked back to meet her own once more, startling her a bit as the woman excitedly spoke again. Just being around her really sucks out your energy, she mused a bit, but it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing."If you aren't attending with anyone else, wanna join me and Dawn? We're gonna try the games and then we're headed for Ms. Evers stories later. I bet she'd be really happy if you stopped in too!"

At that, Althea tilted her head a bit. She would be lying if she said she wasn’t interested - she did like Ms. Evers, and she also enjoyed a good story, especially a fairy tale. After a moment of thought, she smiled once more at Liliya. ”I will gladly take you up on that offer, ma pote***.” She paused, unable to help herself, ”Also, remember - it is ‘Dawn and me’, not ‘me and Dawn’,” she corrected, ever the teacherly type. With that off her mind, she cast a glance around at the immediate game booths, then at the time on her phone. ”If we want to listen to Ms. Evers stories, we should head that way now - it would be rude to show up halfway through, after all,” she reasoned, already turning to start towards the area where Ms. Evers had set up her stand. She did glance back to ensure that Dawn and Liliya were following her - she didn’t want to just abandon them, especially given that she was their senior as well as a student council member, it was her moral obligation not to simply abandon the two - and when they reached the area it was to be found that the seats were completely filled, leaving their trio to stand at the back and watch from there. She didn’t mind, though - standing was good for you.

cet escroc* ~ that scammer
sucré** ~ sweetling

"Thank you for your report Aetherius. I can see you're just as pleasant as the last time you reported. I already another job for you, but that can wait for tomorrow to give you a chance to rest."

The words from the woman suddenly bring him back from his drifting thoughts, ideas, predictions. How long would he be stuck here? Just overnight? That would simply be heaven in his eyes, truly, what more could he want? Clearly she wanted him out of her hair as soon as possible, and he wanted to return to the freedom of the ocean immediately anyway, so perhaps their seeming distaste with one another worked in both their favors, for work and responsibilities. Reports and a new mission, and they wouldn't have to see each other again for another month or two. Perfect.

Still, he can't help the click of his tongue at her first words, and perhaps it's stupid of him to show such an obvious display of disrespect to the reigning sovereign power of Rhindeval, but he was not Jiayi. Showing active displays of some form of rebellion or sense of individuality was just part of the way he rolled.

Still, eventually her attention is moved away from him, and those shining, sharp eyes of hers are settled on Jiayi's form, who straightens slightly at the attention, "so, Sir Jiayi, do you have anything to report?"

"Nothing, my queen. Lostein's lands and the palace estate has been peaceful for the past week." Simple, light in his words, and pleasing to the ears, as always. He only ever said what was asked of him, but unlike Aetherius's way of speaking to their queen, his fellow servant held no disrespect or disregard to the woman, wasn't biting back words of offense every time he opened his mouth. Surely he could learn to follow Jiayi's example to avoid discomfort and punishment, but he simply did not care nor did he wish to do so.

Still, the woman continues speaking after hearing their words, and soon she's turning around, putting her back towards them and making way for the room that he'd never even stepped foot in, nonchalant words to them as she walked, "since all three of you are here, I think I'll give you three my special drink now. Stay here and I'll be right back."

The silence that falls over the room feels suffocating, but he doesn't care to break it. He can feel Ryder's gaze on him, a wretched sort of attention he's seemed to gather much to his own disgust, but all he gives in return is a sharp glare to the man, another click of his tongue, nothing more than a "tsk" sound leaving him before he relaxes his posture and stands from his position on the ground. The sooner he could retreat to his usual temporary stay in the palace's bedroom, or an even more pleasing idea, to the taverns with his crew, the better. Anything, to get away from the bastards that roamed these halls.

Jiayi stands with him as he does, giving an awkward and unsure glance to Ryder with the movement and stare the man was giving him as well, and an awkward stillness he seems to decide on as he stays in his spot, gaze forward towards the door Ivelda had gone through. Aetherius stares at him a moment as well, but it seems the man has given up on peacemaking and conversation for the time being, so silence prevails.

Eventually Ivelda returns, a platter and drinks floating so close behind her, and something inside of Aetherius's stomach twists. What was it about those drinks she prepped for them every few months, that made him feel so uneasy? Like he was being dragged back down to the bottom of a dark, endless cave that he had just started to be free from, that he had started to just barely get a glimpse of light out of. Even so he keeps himself composed, taking hold of one of the drinks and shifting the liquid within around lazily, watching it splash inside its cup. It's always had an odd look to him, something far from right with it, but refusing to drink wouldn't end well for him, and he wasn't keen on being tied down and having it forced down his throat, either.

A wandering gaze cannot be helped, before he drinks. That odd sense of watching the others tip their's back, the way he sees Ryder's face blank, Jiayi's soon after, how their eyes lose focus and their entire selves seem lost to the abyss for a moment. It unsettles him, makes him feel queasy, but he turns his gaze back to the drink, a glance to Ivelda, and then he brings it to his lips finally, letting the elixir fill his mouth and overwhelm any senses he still had working. It feels like acid down his throat, a poison that muddles the mind and ruins his ability to think for himself, but it's swallowed and ingested by now, and something tells him that even if he tried to make himself throw it back up, it's far too late to halt the effects it would have on him.

Even if he was unaware of how he looked, that same blank, empty look and sensation takes its hold over his body and mind. Nothing, nothing, nothing, and then everything at once, back into his mind and eyes and ears, and then settled into normalcy again.

That was the last of his responsibilities with the woman here, wasn't it? He'd get his mission tomorrow and be out and gone before anyone could change their mind; just one night of tossing and turning over whatever the hell he'd just drank, and wondering why the hell his nightmares seemed to grow more vague and only worsen too.

"Your Highness," he speaks up, watching Ryder scamper back to her side like the damn lapdog he was, "if there is nothing more needed of me at this point, may I be excused from your presence for the night?"

Warm and happy and content, she smiled brighter as she spoke to Althea, the older classmate of her's gaining a smile of her own, however small it was, it still carried that warmth she knew from the woman from the times she had spoken with her, whether it was on campus or by chance somewhere else.

"You flatter me too much, sucré. It went quite well, thankfully, but that was only thanks to all of those involved. Without everyone doing their fair share, it would have been impossible to pull off."

Sucré? An absent thought as she speaks. What did that mean? French, definitely, but she couldn't remember the translation from the lessons her mom had given her all those years ago. Oh, she'd be so disappointed! No one tell her please! Still, the word sounds nice, probably kind or a cute little pet name that she was delighted to be referred to as. Who wouldn't be?

Would Galen even make the effort to do so, if he knew she liked it so much?

"Always so humble, Thea, give yourself some credit! I'm sure the others helped out, but you were still a lead in the show!" A little more insistent; Althea would never take credit, always tried to turn to spotlight to someone else when it was one her it seemed. "You were amazing!" Someone would say, and she would just respond that everyone else was too. "You're beautiful!" And she would tell you that she probably wouldn't compare to the others on the stage, or something. Liliya suddenly had the sense that anyone who tried to flirt with her would find it a lost cause, at that rate. How do you shower compliments and suggestive words to someone who deflects it almost as soon as the sound reaches her ears?

Still, with Althea's pretty face, Liliya was quite confident there'd be someone who would persist enough to get through to her with that. Or someone who was blunt and vulgar enough that she wouldn't even be able to deflect away if she wanted to. What would she say if someone called her sexy? That everyone else was too? Or if they tried to get her in bed? That the others should tag along? As if, she couldn't be that oblivious, right?

Still, her attention is taken away as her upperclassman is speaking again, accepting the offer in such a way that Liliya's eyes begin to sparkle. There's another French word in there, "ma pote," but at least this one sounds more familiar, didn't that mean friend or something? She would have to reread her study books for this later, right now she would just take comfort in the hope and idea that Althea wouldn't use a different language to call her cruel names. That sparkle in her eyes is dashed away though, lips shifting into a childish pout as her grammar is corrected, "remember - it is ‘Dawn and me’, not ‘me and Dawn’." A slight stomp on the ground digs her outfit's heel into the dirt, but she doesn't care so much for that. "Let me have at least have a break from English class here, Thea! I don't wanna think about grammar rules at a fair!" A slight huff, she finally lets go of Dawn's hand then to cross her arms over her chest, but it doesn't last when she's speaking again, trying to redirect them back towards where their professor would be telling her stories, giving her performance and finally Liliya would be able to see something like this at the fair, even if it was with an unexpected group and not her original date and friends.

Althea is moving and Liliya is following without a second thought, a small push and nudge to Dawn to get her moving as well, even if the girl seemed to be off in another one of her daydreams despite all the energy and chaos, and a conversation that had been happening right in front of her. She was far too used to seeing the girl like that now, after spending classes with her. Silently, she wondered how the girl passed all those classes when she seemed to often be in a whole different world during lectures. Just naturally...super smart, or something.

The walk to Ms. Evers stand and setup is short, given they hadn't really made it that far from where they'd originally talked in the end. Game stands weren't a far off travel, and Liliya was happy for that, given she was beginning to feel her feet hurt in her shoes, and perhaps it's okay for me to go barefoot in the grass for the rest of the night after watching this. I don't want to walk home with blisters.

Nearing the area let her catch the tail end of Lilith's words, the woman already donning on a persona for her stage to tell whatever she'd been practicing for this night. "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! Gather around and learn tales of yore and wonder! My name is Madame Lilith and I am a sorceress who has travel far and wide! Come, come and don't be shy!" It's fun, to hear her professor take on a more lighthearted and fairy tale-esque role, to see her in a not so professional situation. Weird too, that disconnect from the professor to regular person status she always had with her instructors. They had lives outside of school too, and she knew that.

Unfortunately for her, they weren't fast enough to snag seats, seeing the ones placed out around the area already filled with an audience, and she let out a small sigh as they settled in the back. Her feet kick off the pair of shoes easily enough once they find that comfortable space, and she lets the pair sit lazily on the grass as her feet settle on the comfortable blanket, and finally get to breathe and take the pressure off. Much better, it was good to keep comfortable, especially to be sure that the enjoyment of a performance was at the maximum it could be. And so, with Althea and Dawn at her sides, she settled in to listen to the older woman's words and stories, and hopefully they would fill her night with plenty of pleasant, ethereal dreams.

"A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.” ~Proverbs 27:9

Willow released Cassie a bit abruptly, her embarrassment evident. Had she held the girl up for too long? Guilt plunged through her heart at the sight of Cassie’s obvious discomfort, and it skyrocketed as the other woman mentioned her head pains. Despite Eloise’s reassurances - there was definite surprise over the fact that Eloise was attempting to calm her worries - Willow couldn’t help but feel bad. It was an accident, but it was still her fault. Before she could apologize any further or offer any help, Cassie had said goodbye and left, undoubtedly off to find a good place to rest.

Almost immediately afterwards, the younger students with them - a blond girl and one with pink hair lighter than Willow's - tottered off to do who-knew what, and Willow rung her hands a bit as she watched them go, unable to get over unintentionally hurting Cassie. She hoped she was okay.

A bit upset over the exchange, Willow sighed and tugged at a lock of her hair. Ms. Evers disappeared, surely intent on readying for her story-telling, so that left her alone with Eloise, someone that despite them being in the same year and sharing a lot of the same classes, she wasn’t particularly close with. Well, she did try to make me feel better about Cassie. Maybe she isn’t that bad?

At that thought, Willow turned her ever-present smile on Eloise, seemingly back to her normal, chipper self.

”Well, I for one want to get some food and watch Ms. Evers story-telling. If you want, you could join me - who knows, maybe it’ll make this day a little less shit despite you being shoved into a dress?” she laughed out, having noticed the other girl’s blatant discomfort in the clothing. ”I know we aren’t really friends, but that doesn’t mean we can’t become them.”

With the offer out there, Willow turned and approached a nearby food stall that was selling delicious smelling Funnel Cakes. After ordering two with powdered sugar, she paid and went back to Eloise, offering her one. ”Eat it while it’s hot - don’t worry, I don’t think anyone will care,” she teased, glancing down at the girl’s dress pointedly.

Ivelda Evers
Code-#003300

Once the three men drank her potion, Ivelda had a servant take the tray away with the goblets to get them washed. She listened carefully as Jiaya made report. She was satisfied with the state of the guard and her palace was still protected. The only thing she found frustrating was how she'd yet to tap into Lostein's magic source. Each of the palaces in all the kingdoms were built over large build ups of magic for that reason, to protect these sources. And even though Ivelda had taken over Lostein's palace at least, she still couldn't reach that source. The former rulers must have had a back up plan themselves in case something like this happened. It was one of the things her alchemists were working on. This brought her thoughts to her Head Alchemist, Haru Otani or Prince Kaito as he used to be known. She best check up on him and her head inquisitor too. It was time for another sacrifice and Ivelda wanted to make sure Alcinder, who use to be Prince Orion, had someone ready for her. Besides, both Haru and Alcinder needed to get a potion from her also.

Her thoughts came back to the present as Aetherius asked if he could leave.

Smiling, she came towards him and replied, "Of course, just make sure you report to me after breakfast. Oh, and one last thing, don't cause a raucous in town like that ONE time."

Last year Aetherius and his main crew created a huge mess of one of the taverns and Ivelda hadn't let him sail for a whole month and made him pay for all the damage too, which was extensive.

Turning to Jiaya, she said, "You may return to your duties, Sir Jiaya. Thank you."

Finally she turned to Ryder.

"I will be heading down to check on Haru and Alcinder, Ryder. Can you check on my sweet little birds? I want to see what they've been up to."

Her 'little birds' were really orphans that worked as spies for her. Little birds were just the code name and Ryder was the one in charge of them ultimately.

After the three men left, Ivelda headed down to the lower areas of the palace.

Haru Otani
Code-#3A0786

Near the dungeons, there was the palace's research area, and that was where Haru Otani was. At the moment he was scowering through books. He felt like he was coming close to a breakthrough for his lifelong project, bringing down the seals around these palaces Ivelda wanted down. She told him that evil forces had trapped the people inside of them and she wanted them rescued.
Haru had tried many different methods, all failed. That was hopefully about to change. He discovered something purely on accident when he was in Hanasaki. It had been the first time he'd been to that Principality. He'd been trying to go there for some years now, but Ivelda refused for the place was dangerous since the most rebels came from that area, next to Angalais. However, Haru counter pointed that he had been to Angalais and nothing happened to him there. So, she let him go, abite reluctantly, and she made sure he was well protected. Her Overseer, another alchemist like himself, stayed by his side almost the entirety of his time there. He had been so eager to see Hanasaki that he never noticed the looks the locals gave him. When he saw the palace, he had felt something, but squashed it down and went to work. Like with the other palaces and the border to Traumet, the seal was very strong. It had to be if Ivelda herself couldn't bring it down and the queen was extremely powerful. Something happened at the seal though when he touched it. It seemed to react to him, and he felt it 'ripple'. However, before he could explore more, the Overseer (he couldn't remember his name for he found the man 'off') had a guard haul him away in fear something would happen to him. He never got a chance to re-examine the seal again. Still, he gained enough knowledge to know that the seals could only be brought down by people themselves and not something else. So, once he got back to Lostein, he started researching what was within people that could help bring down seals.

So engrossed in his reading, that he didn't hear the knock on the door. However, one of his owls did and screeched. That always got Haru's attention. Instantly annoyed, Haru reluctantly put down the book he had and headed for the door. His scowl turned into a grin though when he saw it was the queen.

"Your majesty, your timing couldn't be more perfect. I just came across something that might interest you. Please come in."

Ivelda smiled and allowed the former prince of Hanasaki to escort her to his big armchair.

"I am sorry for interrupting your work, Haru. And I can't stay long, but I have time to hear what you have to say."

Nodding, Haru told her, "As you know, the seal in Hanasaki reacted to my presence. My research has led me to believe it has to do with my blood. I've been reading up more on practices using blood and I know blood can be a great tool for magics, especially sealing magic . . . ."

Haru started to ramble and while Ivelda listened to every word, she was also thinking about the incident Haru mentioned. The man was brilliant, but she knew it was a gamble for him to go to Hanasaki. Overseer Sho had Haru removed instantly in fear the seal would come down. While Ivelda wanted the seals to come down, she didn't want Haru nor any of the other princes in the vicinity. What Haru was telling her now only confirmed what she suspected for awhile; only the royals could bring down the shields. The fairy queen could probably bring down the seals too, but Ivelda would be going against an ancient treaty between her master and Eowyn if she tried to make the fairy queen bring it down. She recalled when she tried bringing down the seal around Traumet, the King of Demons, Asmodeus, had appeared and order her to stop and any order from her master was one she could never go against. So she had to find another way around those seals since the direct approach wouldn't work.

After Haru finished his report, Ivelda smiled and replied, "Very impressive Haru. You've done well. Now, I am going to need for you to go up to my throne room. I want to reward you with my special drink. I still need to check on Alcinder so it'll take me a few minutes to get there."

Haru wasn't happy about this, but nodded. After escorting the queen to the door, he followed her out. Locking the door, she headed towards the dungeons while he headed for the throne room.

Once in the dungeon, Ivelda found Alcinder in his special 'interrogation room'. The state of the room didn't bother her for she pretty much raised Alcinder to be as sadistic as possible. Out of all the princes, he certain had the most drastic change, attitude wise. Seeing what he was doing, Ivelda looked at the female in the room. Even with all the injuries, she could see the young woman was once very pretty. She turned to the white hair man.

"I sure hope this wasn't the maiden you intended for me to have for my own purposes, Alcinder. You know I like them as pure as possible." she commented casually.

Iris was over the moon in having completed her mission successfully. She wasted no time in getting back home and all but burst into the Queen's throne room.

"You're Majesty! I know what Ivelda is using!" the fairy said as she flew in and transformed into her 'human size'.

Eowyn smiled and giggled at the fairy's enthusiasm.

"Tell me Iris."

The fairy did so and Eowyn sighed in relief.

"Well done Iris. It's a relief to know Ivelda didn't make anything too complicated."

"Might I ask why you wanted to know this your majesty?" Iris asked.

"I needed to know what they were so we can create an antidote. Even if and when Lilith returns with the princesses, they won't have the means to break Ivelda's hold over the princes on their own. We can at least give them the means to do that. Luckily I am familiar with the antidote that can break it, but unlike Ivelda's "loyalty potion", this will take time. Thank you Iris, you are dismissed for now."

Iris, excited of the prospect the princes' spell being broken, bowed and left. It was only a matter of time.

Lilith Evers
Code- #C71585

It was finally time. Lilith enjoyed telling the crowd about Rhindeval, but now it was time to release the girls from her sisters' spell. She had noticed that the spell had weaken over time. She wonders if it was because Ivelda wasn't here to reinforce it. She had learned in magic school that going against what was natural would eventually try to undo itself. Lilith hoped that her sister didn't have the ability to sense the breaking of the spell. Hopefully in the spell's weaken state she wouldn't feel it. She was pleased to most of the princesses near the edges of the crowd. Only one missing was Princess Meridian, who was called Cassie.

"Now my fine folk, seeing how I am a sorceress, I suppose I shall share with you some spells. The one I have you for today is an ancient spell, so I hope you enjoy the performance!"

The audience would think she was only going to do magic tricks, but this would be all too real. Taking her want, she spoke the spell that would undo curse. It was one she created herself. Connecting with the pendants of the princesses, she spoke out.

"Memory is precious, it can't be taken away,
Remember your true self and find your way,
Have courage and take heart,
See the light and cast off the dark,
Seek me when thee are ready,
As I will so mote it be!"

In that instant, magical energy burst from wand, but no one would see it. Instead, little fireworks went off behind Lilith in order to distract the crowd. The magic from the spell would come into contact with the pendants of the princesses and Lilith could feel the locks on the princesses' memory break. The spell took a lot out her and Lilith plopped onto her seat in dramatic fashion. She exhausted but she just pretended to be.

"My! That took a bit out of me. I think I need a break. Return in 30 minutes folks, and I shall give all of you more tales of wonder!

The crowd applauded before dispersing. Lilith sighed. She done it. Looking at the princesses present, she watched to see their reactions.

Dawn Henderson
Code- #5477B9

Dawn once again found herself walking as Liliya nudged her after Thea. At least this time she had both hands free and made sure to walk carefully through the crowd. Once they made it to Lilith's booth area, Dawn could see there wasn't a way to get close, but Lilith was speaking loud enough so she could hear her fine. She became entranced in the stories her professor told. One in particular grabbed at her heart. What she didn't realize was it was the story of how her birth parents got together. Professor Evers eventually performed a 'spell', however, unlike most of the crowd, as soon as the words of the spell were said, she could feel something hit her pendant and go right into her chest. It was in that instant Dawn had a flash back.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The hallway was dark as a little girl with pale blonde hair tried drying her eyes. She just had a nightmare and sought her parents' comfort. Her room wasn't too far from their's. Coming to a pair of large ivory doors, she pushed on them with all her might. The door creaked a bit as she enters the room. However, no sooner had she enter, she saw her father get out of bed and drew his sword.
"Daddy?"
Immediately the man disarmed himself and looked at his daughter. Her mother had sat up in bed too by this time.
"Aurora, sweet pea, what is it?" King Elios asked.
"I had a bad dream. I don't want to be alone."
The man smiled before coming up to the 5-year-old and picked her up before giving her a gentle hug.
"It'll be fine sweet pea. Do you want to sleep with mommy and daddy?"
The little girl nodded.
"Is it all right with you dear?" Elios asked his wife with a puppy dog eye look.
The queen smiled, "Okay just this once."
Dawn watched all of this in 3rd person and soon the image faded.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dawn gasped in shock. This was just like her dreams, only clearer and it felt all too real. It was then she noticed tears were coursing down her face. She knew those people. The little girl looked exactly like her and was wearing a pendant that just looked like her. Her name had been Aurora though. She realized she was down on her knees. She was still in shock.

Cassie Peters
Code- #46935C

It only took Cassie a couple minutes to recover from her ordeal. She had always been a quick healer, much to her relief. However, as soon as her headache left her, she felt something hit her peridot pendant and go into her check. Cassie nearly cursed as she recalled something.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The flowers were blooming, and a little green hair girl was climbing up a tree. Her parents were visiting one of the many flower farms and this one hand a huge tree on it. She was climbing when she heard her mother call for her.
"Meridian! Meridian where are you?!"
Oh now she was in for it. Slowly climbing down, the 7-year-old managed to make it down the tree just has both of her parents showed up. Seeing the state their daughter was in, the queen frowned while the king laughed. Indeed, young Meridian was covered in twigs and leaves and her dress was torn at the hem.
"Really, Meridian, don't you go wandering off when we're visiting our subjects. They put in a lot of hard work into these farms, so the least you can do is not get all dirty," Queen Kerrigan said.
"Sorry mama."
During this time, Cassie was also seeing this in third person. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.
King Hector looked at his wife and daughter and said, "You're mother has a point Meri, but next time let us know when you're getting bored and we'll have someone watch over you. You could have asked to explore the fields or pick some flowers for your mother."
He always tried to be the middle ground between the two. Meridian nodded and soon the image faded.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Cassie found herself gasping for air. She looked around and found that she was leaning against the wall of something. What did she just see?! The two adults . . . . she recognized them. But who were they? And that little girl, she looked a lot like it, only younger. Was that her? Utterly confused, Cassie found herself unconsciously wandering in the direction of where Lilith's booth was.

She can see the slight look of pain over Cassie's features as the girl pulls away from them both, and Eloise's eyes narrow slightly at her words, her reaction. Sure, the collision hadn't been gentle by any means, but it seemed to have put her into a sour mood already, or at least from what she can tell as she turns away, walks off. Wasn't she supposed to be the happy-go-lucky type, laidback and extroverted? Why was she acting all moody now? Jesus, girl, what's got your panties in a twist today? You seemed just fine earlier. Rolling her eyes, she crossed her arms over her chest, whatever, not my problem.

Green hair and eyes are gone, and now all she's left with is pink hair and eyes. Lose one overactive extrovert, and they're immediately replaced, apparently. She's not even sure how to feel about that, but at least this little embarrassment might tone the other girl's active, talkative self down a bit, right?

A look over to the shorter girl, only to see that way too persistent smile stuck on her face. Never mind, to that toning down. Of course that wouldn't happen. "Well, I for one want to get some food and watch Ms. Evers story-telling. If you want, you could join me - who knows, maybe it’ll make this day a little less shit despite you being shoved into a dress?" The girl's laugh rings in her ears, and Eloise isn't sure if she's trying to laugh with her or at her at this point. A light scowl takes her features in a downward curve, and she lets out a huff at that. "Food was the plan anyway, so whatever, it works," comes out muttered. "At this point, the only thing that'll make this day less shit is me getting out of this thing." It's true, really. Getting out of this dress, going back home, it was all she could think of to improve her continuously dampening mood. But she can't, because her 4.0 is sitting on that stage, and she's not about to lose it after enduring these last couple years of hell. Once I graduate, I'll only have to play that damned instrument when I need to.

Shifting lightly in her spot, she glanced around the stands again, before Willow continues her talking, and dull brown eyes settle on her, eyebrow moving upwards slightly. "I know we aren’t really friends, but that doesn’t mean we can’t become them." Friends, huh? Was that what she was seeking out? Silence falls over Eloise for a moment as she thinks. Was it genuine, or just an idea of the moment thing? To her, Willow seemed fairly popular, comfortable with herself and her life, happy. Eloise, instead, was quite disliked by most of those within the campus and college, regarded as unpleasant, too easy to irritate, someone to very much avoid. Them becoming friends just...wouldn't make sense, would it? They were opposites in every which way.

Still, she doesn't have the energy to try and make a scene or get away from the girl, so she just shrugs. Willow could do as she wanted, but she better be prepared to be disappointed.

A sigh and closed eyes, she raises a hand as she opens her mouth to speak, but when she's letting in the light of the day again through her half shut eyelids, she finds that the magenta haired girl has already wandered off, talking to someone at a stand selling desserts. Alright, straight to it then I guess. Mutters her mind, and she shifts around to her bag, trying to find where she'd just shoved her little wallet this time, but she's not even fast enough before a funnel cake is held out in her direction like an offering. Blinking once, she stares at it, and then looks back to the other, her brows furrowing slightly in confusion.

"Eat it while it’s hot - don’t worry, I don’t think anyone will care."

Her hands stop digging into her small satchel at that, grey-brown eyes staring at the dessert as she tries to make sense of it, before dainty hands take hold of the item of food, fingers already getting coated in the powdered sugar layered on top. This was...oddly kind of her. Or maybe it should have been expected, with her personality. Shaking it a bit and letting the sugar flitter off like small flakes of snow, she takes her first small bite, the cake half melting over her tongue, and a small sigh of pleasure leaves her then. It was good, she'd say that; so maybe Willow did have good taste. It's a little mood boost.

"Sorry, I'll pay you for it once I've finished..." Is all she mutters, another small bite taking off a chunk of the dessert. "Thanks for grabbing one for me..."

The quiet settles for a moment as they both eat their fair food, and as sweet as it tastes, Eloise is sure it's unhealthy, but it's what she deserves for being put through this, so she enjoys every overloaded sugar bite. A little of the powdered sugar does end up on her dress in the end too, but she hardly cares; it half blends in with it anyway, the small specks of white in the black fabric mimicking the starry vibe it was probably trying to go for. More personality to it too, in her terms anyway, because rips and wear and tear, distressed looks were common in her wardrobe.

She does eventually finish it off, softly licking the remains of the sugar off her thumbs, and she's nearly about to turn towards the other girl, shove her hands in her own bag again to try and find that cash to give her, but suddenly a weight hits her, goes right through the spot her pendant sits over her chest, and she freezes up, tries to catch her breath. What...was that?

Gaze shifting over to Willow then, they show something akin to panic as the sensation sets in, and before she can reach out or ask for her help, she's sunk to her knees, dress billowing out around her into a black and white puddle on the grass. She can feel the stares of people around them, before the scene before her fades as if it were nothing more than a movie, and in rolls the next.

It's like one after the other, burning into her mind, and while they invade every corner of her vision, it feels like that wall that always kept her from recalling her childhood breaks down. And it breaks down too fast, like a dam of water finally overflowing with that single push, that single drop of rain. Her head aches, burns, as she sees all of it, and her eyes sting soon too. The images, the voices, they're all familiar. Those halls, filled with paintings on the walls and furniture along the edges, a perfect rug down the center, bedrooms filled with beds and desks and books that look like they'd run her wallet dry before she even tried to pay for half of one, servants that bow their heads as she runs past, laughing along with someone- someone important that-

"Valken!" It's her own voice, but higher, younger, "Valken, slow down! Papa- Mama will get mad at us!"

The head of dark hair, the pale skin, wearing something so regal she'd say it looked like a fairy tale prince's. Just as he's about to turn his head, the scene shifts, and she's laying with a man and a woman, warm and kind. The man's hand is gently running through her hair, careful and soothing, and the woman is looking down at her, warm smile as she keeps hold of one of Eloise's far too small hands.

"Oh little Euphemia..." The woman whispers, softly pressing her lips to her forehead. "Isn't it time for our little princess to be brave enough in her own room? Mom and dad are only across the hall from you, and Valken is right beside you in the other. There's nothing to be afraid of, darling, they're just bad dreams."

The man's voice comes through next, just as kind, just as warm, "would you like Raulus to sleep at your bedside tonight? He'll keep you warm, Euphemia, and safe. No one would try and fight one of my wolves, you know that."

Again it fades, and flashing by are all the different memories that she had dug for her whole life, an abrupt unraveling that she can't even control, before finally it settles on the finale, and she finds herself in a different place that she hadn't seen through all of those, half collapsed on the floor with the pain of death and grief tearing at her, ripping down her mind, while the cries, fear, terror, fill the room. Again, there's that boy, and he's standing in front of her once more, but instead of playing, running, he has his feet planted over the ground, a glaive drawn at his side and pointed at someone in the darkened shadows of the room. "Stay there, Euphemia! I'll keep you safe, I won't let her hurt you!"

His voice makes her heart shatter, her chest tighten and her building tears finally pool over. Finally, he looks over, and she finds her own eyes locking with those brilliant, fierce blue ones, terrified but determined to protect...her. Euphemia, not Eloise. Euphemia. And that was Valken, the face and voice she'd so yearned to remember all these years, her...

Her brother.

The vision ends, and just like a movie it goes dark for a moment, silent, before a new scene rolls in. Reality, or was it? She stares blankly at the area around her, the ongoing fair and the people who either walk past her without a care, or nervously wonder if they should step in, make sure she's okay. How long had she been sitting here like this? How long had those visions lasted? What was...who was...who was she?

Taking in a trembling breath, she moved her arms around herself in some sort of self-comforting hug, trying to stabilize her emotions, trying to reground her wild mind, before looking to the girl that she had just been with, as if she might even know what had just happened, if she had even experienced the same thing Eloise...Euphemia? just had.

Collectibles

By creating Collectibles, you can reward your players with unique items that accentuate their character sheets.

Once an Item has been created, it can be spawned in the IC using /spawn Item Name (case-sensitive, as usual) — this can be followed with /take Item Name to retrieve the item into the current character's inventory.

Mobs

Give your Universe life by adding a Mob, which are auto-replenishing NPCs your players can interact with. Useful for some quick hack-and-slash fun!

Mobs can be automated spawns, like rats and bats, or full-on NPCs complete with conversation menus. Use them to enhance your player experience!
