Physical Description
Levi, as most people call him, is an unassuming male of an average stature. He has bored eyes and an almost expressionless face most of the time. His shoulders are reguarly slacked yet he stands up almost unaturally straight. His eyes can seem to be dull and unfocused once second than sharp and piercing the next. He, contrary to belief, does smile and isn't very neat. His hair is almost never brushed and he looks terrible in the morning.
At almost all times, there are purple tendrils moving over his body. These tendrils seem to be made of ink and drawn on. They seem to have no goal yet tend to move towards injuries on Levi's body.

❝Interests❞

Image

Powers
-Main Power Area: Shadow

Macabre Healing - This ability allows for the creation of the tattoo-like purple tendrils on Levi's body. This ability is passive and is used constantly while Levi is in Darkness. The tendrils move to the area that is damaged and slowly replace the damaged area with themselves. The darker the area Levi is, the more tendrils are made per second. Should light be shined on Levi however, the tendrils will move away from where the light has landed. The purple tendrils can be passed onto others by Levi, but he must will them to go onto another's body and must be touching the other's skin. These tendrils are unable to cause damage and can only heal or defend. These tendrils have the unique ability of being able to defend against physical and magical attacks by moving to the area targeted, but will easily be destroyed by most attacks. These Tendrils can overlap.

Dance of Shadows - The user of this ability can manipulate the darkness and move it as if it were a physical object. Levi can choose to make the manipulated shadows 3-dimensional or 2-dimensional. Levi himself prefers to stay lovecraftian-themed and uses tendrils of pure darkness, but can be forced to be more creative if facing a powerful foe.

Devil's toys - Using this ability, Levi can create small blue creatures resembling small versions of animals and only visible by a purple outline. These creatures have the proportional traits the animal they represent would have. These creatures are dubbed 'Toys' by Levi. An animal Toy, for example, would be slow and lumbering while a tiger Toy would be fast and agile. Each toy spends its time eating away at the target they have been set on. They can easily be destroyed by pressing against them with enough force to penetrate the skin of the animal they represent. Killing a Toy will make it slowly fade away from visibility. Toys tend to shy away from light to escape fading away through that manner. They are able to be created by Levi on parts of his body that are in Darkness and will not ever harm him. Levi's efficiency at creating these small Toys is directly connected to the amount of light present on the part of his body that he's creating the Toys on. These Toys cannot overlap due to their being 3-dimensional.

- Special Move:

Eldritch Cacophony - A sphere with an 18ft diameter centered on Levi's heart is created. From this sphere come out tendrils of pure darkness, moving at high speeds and having large masses. These tendrils crush most objects that get in their way and are controlled directly by Levi. Eyes and Mouths seem to appear and disappear on the sphere at random intervals, allowing for Levi to speak and see outside of the sphere.

-Secondary Area: Earth

Steel Skin - This ability allows for Levi to make the target of this ability have a body with the toughness of Steel. The target will not have their weight nor denseness changed, yet will have a body as hard to penetrate as steel.

❝Welcome to my Life❞

Image
Personality
Levi, to say the least, is a strange character. He has knowledge and skills regarding guns, and seems to get excited when talking about them. He has an aura of seriousness yet seems to be amused at almost every little thing. He seems to be held up high and gives the impression of being neat, yet is lazy and rarely cares to organize. Levi seems to hold a distaste for heroics and tends to look at a situation objectively, although his emotions do tend to make him biased. He'll kill an innocent man to save a hundred more; but wont kill a guilty friend to save a thousand innocent strangers. He understands his hypocrisy and doesn't bother to hide it.
Levi does have a tendency to suppress emotions and have them, embarrassingly, come out at the most inappropriate times and with little provocation. This tends to get a laugh out of most people to Levi's dismay, but he'll return to his calm and collected self after exploding as if nothing had happened. He'll probably be vomiting in the bathroom out of embarrassment when no one is looking after having an explosion.
If you were to go into Levi's room, you'd most likely find books littered around the floor and randomly placed on shelves, with dog ears on the top of pages Levi specifically likes. You'll rarely find science fiction books but don't be surprised to see horror books in his room. Other than horror books, Levi has classic literature, mystery, and a few random books from other genres.
Levi however, is not oblivious to technology and actually embraces it. He has a gaming console and a television in the room located at the Moriarty headquarters he used to live at, filled with the games you'd find in an average teenage boy's room. His old room itself is a room with brick walls and a messy appearance. Two windows are looking out from this room and onto the ground. There are however, a few things that make this room different from what a normal person would have. For example, if you find the hidden hatch hidden in his closet, you'l find weapons of all shapes and sizes. Alongside these highly illegal weapons, Levi has magical grimoires inherited from his family. Levi tends to spend a lot of his time here, but plans to move a few of his things into the room he'll be in at the school.
Levi, even if he wasn't intelligent, would most likely pass any class in school. He has a nearly eidetic memory and could recite Hamlet to you but most likely wouldn't. After all, what reason would he have for reciting a book for you? Levi hasn't told anyone of his amazing memory except his closest friends and hopes to keep it that way, preferring to have another trick up his sleeve.

❝Who I Am❞

Image
History
Levi was born to the Leviathan and Moriarty families, two of the most famous families in the magical underworld, albeit for different reasons. The Leviathan family is, or rather was, known for their powerful shadow magicians but has been nearly obliterated. Levi's mother however, having been born into the family yet willingly moved out, was not damaged by whatever phenomenon had hit the rest of the Leviathan family. Most magicians, when hearing the Leviathan name, tend to go into hushes whispers and have slight fear instilled into them. This is due to the supposed horrendous acts the Leviathan family has committed in the past.
The Moriarty family is most famous in the non-magical world for being the host to the infamous rival to Sherlock Holmes, but you'll find much nastier people inside. The Moriarty family is in actuality, a large family that collects magical texts and stores them in a heavily guarded library. Levi's father, Alexander, is the heir to the Moriarty family's royal bloodline. The Moriarty family is considered a great one in the magical world and is held in high regard.
Levi himself lived in one of the smaller headquarters for the family and is protected from monsters by the family members working at the headquarters. Getting into a headquarters for the Moriarty family without being a part of it is a hard endeavor and one that should not be followed, for the family can easily move its materials from one headquarters to another in the time it would take someone to get through their defenses.
Levi, through some miraculous and somewhat-strange circumstances, managed to become friends with Robin the snowflake. Levi is, contrary to belief, fond of Robin and his excitement.

❝Welcome to my Life❞

Personality
Baal is a counter to Levi's intelligence and caution. While Levi is slow to jump into a fight and non-heroic, Baal is a 'good' and hotheaded demon ready to jump into battle at a moment's notice. Baal unlike Levi, prefers to use old-fashioned weapons where you get up close and personal instead of guns which can be used from a range. He believes that his enemies should see their killer before their 'eventual' death. Baal is unlike Levi in the sense that he isn't as macabre, being of Earthen magic instead of Shadow. He is still terrifying, but not in the Eldritch way that Levi is.
Baal isn't a technophobe, he just dislikes guns. He'll still use modern technology and in fact plays video games with Levi, usually ending up getting angered over losing twelve times in a row and accusing Levi of cheating. Baal has a tendency of rarely admitting defeat when playing not life-threatening games and blames his losses on multiple variables.
Baal, being a demon prince, tends to underestimate other creatures and be surprised easily. He expects that he can beat anyone with sheer willpower and strength.

Thoughts on Other Characters
((OOC): Note, these opinions are subject to change. Feel free to contact me if you wish for any pre-established relationships or if you'd like me to change something here.)

Lilly Zephyr - "She seems to be, from what I've heard, similar enough to me in some aspects. For one, she's obviously a shadow magician as I am. She uses dual handguns as I do, but it seems that those are the only traits we have in common. She seems to be an acceptable teacher, but her demon unnerves me.

Bryce Zephyr - "Powerful. That would be the word to describe Bryce if I were asked to do it in one word. He seems intelligent and capable of fighting, two traits which are rarely found in a person. Not that I've ever met him, but I'm sure we'll get along just fine.

Iyana Liadon - "Optimistic is what I've been hearing. I'm not sure how she's still optimistic, but I wont ruin it for her with me and my oh-so-pessimistic thoughts.

Oralee Breslau - "From what I've heard, she seems quiet. I'll have to speak with her and actually - wait for it - socialize."

Robin Jayson - "Whoever choose Robin's name has a sense of humor, but I wont bore you with the details. Anyway, we've somehow become friends. Yes, the snowflake and the gun-nut are friends, miracles can happen. I'm pretty sure I'm more experienced in video games than him, just something I'd like to point out. No hasn't beaten me ridiculously in the past, stop giving me that look."

Anything Else
Levi is asexual and bi-romantic.

Tick... Tock.... Tick... Tock.... Tick... Tock.... Tick... Tock....

"Shut up."

Tick... Tock.... Tick... Tock....

"I said sh-"

Levi had just awoken from having fallen asleep in his mathematics class. He assumed that people at least attempted to get him to wake up, but soon gave up seeing as Levi slept well when he wanted to. He remembered that he had fallen asleep before class even began, but didn't really care. It wasn't like he was going to fail for missing one bit of class, besides, he already knew most of the things they taught here. It wasn't like he was going to have a normal life either. He was a magician from one... two famous families and trouble seemed to be happening around the world, so he obviously wouldn't get any sort of break.

Levi shrugged, then blushed because of the fact that he had shrugged to himself. He felt lucky that no one had been around him to see that. His demon was there, but Baal was asleep under the teacher's desk. Baal had, earlier in the year, carved out a place with Earth magic in the teacher's desk. Levi stood up from where he was at and went towards Baal, then kicked the desk.

"Ah!" Baal woke up startled, pulling out his scythe and hitting his head in the short space he had been sleeping in. The hit to his head made him calm down and decide to come, then be met with Levi. "You could have just woken me up, jerk." It had become a hobby for the two to mess with each other. "And you could have just not messed with my alarm clock this morning." Levi smiled sheepishly, knowing he had already won the argument.

"Anyway, why'd you wake me up, are we finally getting action?" Baal had, due to not having as good of a memory as Levi, forgotten that the day for the Magical Club to start had finally began. "It's the day for the Magical Club to start, and yes, this means we wont get out early." Levi had, the day before school started, explored most of the school and made a mental map.

Levi began walking out of the classroom and into the hallway, Baal following sleepily behind. "Do we really have to go?" Baal didn't really want to go to the Magical Club, it sounded boring to him. He wasn't the sort of person to sit around and be told what to do, he was the sort of person to learn from experience. Give it a chance, you might actually - wait for it - like it.

Levi looked at his wrist and noticed the time it said. It was 2:40, meaning that he still had a bit of time to kill. There was still another problem however, the fact that he could not be caught in the hall by a teacher. He couldn't afford to waste time by having to explain where he was going. Levi, with a slight nod directed towards Baal, began maneuvering the hallways and going towards where he hoped the club-room was at.

After a minute or so of moving throughout the school, the two managed to arrive at the room. They both entered the room and headed in different directions. Levi began studying the room itself and looking at everything he could, hoping to put a mental picture of everything. Baal, well, he just sat in a chair and attempted to go back to sleep.

Image

2:40

Min, legally known as Minerva, had began walking to the club-room from the time that class ended. Azathoth, the girl's demon, had been following alongside Minerva. Min was known in the school for her physical fitness and capability to fight, meaning that people tended to veer away from her. She was rarely ever bothered by others, but she was also rarely ever talked to.

Min & Azathoth had, without hurry, arrived comfortably at the club room. Min didn't see anyone resembling a teacher in the club-room and was surprised that students arrived earlier than the teachers, but didn't say anything. She assumed that the teacher(s) must have had something important. Yes, that was probably it.

"Are the teachers in this school supposed to arrive later than the students?" Azathoth questioned Min with genuine concern. She really hoped that the teachers at the academy were not.... unlikable. Min flinched internally at what her demon said and looked around quickly before comforting herself with the idea that no one heard the question. "It isn't officially time for classes to start." Minerva paused, "They're probably busy doing something important."

"This school better be worth our time." Azathoth mumbled this to herself, wondering whether or not it was a good idea to come to the school. Min sighed and hoped that her demon wouldn't do anything stupid.

The room Robin found himself in was indeed interesting. It was basically a box of concrete, with two half windows on one side, giving a slight view of the building beside it. He found this interesting, so cold, granted it was a science classroom, but still. The school he went to before coming here at least had some color on the walls, and again it was an art academy, but still. He was only half paying attention to what the teacher, Mrs. Too-Many-Letters-In-name, was saying, as he had learned this beforehand, and was more concentrated on the girl sitting beside him. She was pretty, although she was shivering and trying to rub herself warmer, asking the teacher to turn on the heat. When class finally ended, she got out of that seat like a bat out of hell.

Robin was a bit slower to move out, collecting his notebook with half notes and half doddles of birds, and putting in his backpack. He couldn’t help it he was so naturally cold, but everyone he sat near today began to shiver, it was a little sad and funny at the same time. He was walking aimlessly, not having actually looked at a map of the campus earlier, but just taking in the sites. People walked with old friends and such, but he didn’t really have much of that, but he was happy regardless.

’Hey! There you are!’ Yelled a voice behind him, and before he could turn around, he felt something jump onto his back.

Hey Paws, what’s up?” He said calmly, and she began to tug at his hair with her teeth until he grabbed her off of his shoulders, and began to hold her, her front paws hanging over his arms, and hind legs dangling.

’Don’t you, ‘What’s Up?’ me! We are going to be late for the Mage Club Meeting, so hurry!’ And after a moment of Robin not moving, she jumped out of his arms, and had her head low, ’You didn’t remember to learn where the meeting was, did you?’ He nodded, and she began to walk. ’It’s this way, follow me. I swear, if it weren’t for me, you’d have lost your head years ago.’ Robin only nodded, having drifted off to wondering again.

Robin’s wondering came back to why he wasn’t a wind mage. Some said that it was just an ancient magic in his family that had been dormant, while others accused his mother of cheating on his father. The latter was false, as they had a framed DNA test hanging in the living room. He did wish he was a wind mage, if not only to fit in, but because all of his brothers got to go to some super-secret school for wind mages. It was in Greece, and from what he heard, everyone had a villa they had to share with only one other person. That seemed like the life, but he put it out of his head.

Hey Paws, were the Wright Brothers wind mages? It seems like such a great fit.” He said rather curiously, but Paws ignored him, still walking along, finding the entrance seemed a slight challenge to a one foot tall dog with a boy who could get lost in his own house. She knew they were close, but not too sure how close, but if experience had taught her anything, it was to never admit she didn’t know something around Robin, he was like a small child, so full of hope and ideals. She just tried to locate anyone she recognized and would follow them.

After a while, she caught the scent of Baal, or Mini-Me as Robin loved to call him, and began to pace towards it. It lead them into the school once more, and the scent was strongest around a room that seemed to have some activity in it. ’Found it!’ Paws said proudly before Robin opened the door into the room.

Inside was nothing he would be too excited over, but then he saw Levi, one of his only friends. They had met a while ago, and somehow became friends, even though he refused to wear the friend-ship bracelet he had made for them one summer. Paws went in search of Baal and found him trying to sleep. She jumped onto a chair beside his and curled up, hopefully getting some sleep before Robin returned with his questions.

Robin walked over to Levi, trying to sneak, but failing horribly, and jumped in front of him, hopefully scaring him, as this was fun to him. “Hey Levi! He said loudly, and smiled at his friend. He would have gone in for a hug, but his bone chilled classmates had gotten him off the idea of touching.

Cold....

That was the word that popped into Levi's head as Robin entered the room.

The word 'cold' was no associated with Robin in Levi's mind. Levi pretended not to notice and continued studying a very interesting piece of dust he had found. It seemed to have come from something not natural in the room but instea.... Who was he kidding? The piece of dust was immensely boring. Sure, maybe if he was a dust collector, he might have found that piece of dust moderately interesting. Levi was about to have another one of his episodes, from boredom, but restrained himself. He didn't want to seem temperamental on his first day of meeting the club members, at least those he hadn't previously.

Levi felt the patch of coldness approach him but didn't hear any noise, so he assumed that Robin was attempting to surprise him. Levi put on a face of (obviously) faked suprise, "You really scared me there, meanie." It was strange for someone like Levi to use the word 'meanie', but that was the point of him using the word or at least that's what he thinks.

"Nice to see you again." Levi had the same monotonous voice he usually used and the same unnatural posture he always had. "Anyway, I heard that we're having Lilly and Bryce Zephyr as our teachers." Levi was excited to see figure out how they were in person but only a bit of that excitement showed on his person, "From what I've heard, Bryce is the smarter and more controlled one, while Lilly is the stronger and less controlled one." Levi paused, "Of course that's only what I've heard, we'll get to see how they really are today." Levi didn't want to end up having been entirely wrong without having said that what he heard could have been wrong.

♠Lilly Zephyr♠

The trip back to the class room was quicker than expected.

Right before Lilly took the turn that would lead to their new class of Mages, she paused with a realization she didn’t like. She shifted uncomfortably and itched her left shoulder. “I hate kids,” she muttered to her husband before entering. Then the clock hit 2:50.

Lilly walked into the room, tall and glaring. “Everyone in your seats, now. Before that clock even thinks about moving to this time you should already be in your seats. We are not a daycare; we won’t wipe your asses for you.” OZ followed behind Lilly until they arrived to the front of the room, that was when he took his position in the right corner of the room, watching the kids.

“Bryce,” Lilly stated clearly. “Take it away.”

Iyana Liadon

Iyana had migrated into the classroom, greeting and making small talk with her fellow mages. Many of them seemed fairly nice and seemed to be excited to work together. Then a familiar voice came through the door, calling to her.

“Iyana! What’s up?” Iyana turned to see her changed brother standing by her, smiling away. Iyana herself let out a squeal and jumped on her brother.

“I knew you could do it, Ciel! I just knew it! I’m so happy you are here, I don’t have to start this journey without you!” Iyana held her brother at arms length. “Why are you just now getting here?”

“Hi, I’m Yako! My partner is Melody, she’s over there pretending to sleep.” She said as she pointed her beak towards her friend. “What’s your names? OOOH! Can we be friends? I wanna be friends.” She said excitedly.

Iyana smiled at the bird demon, then looked over to her handler, Melody. “Miss Yako, I would love to be friends!” Iyana pulled her brother over to a desk next to the desk she decided would be hers, right next to Melody. “Hi Melody. I’m Iyana Liadon and I hope we have an amazing year together!”

“Everyone in your seats, now. Before that clock even thinks about moving to this time you should already be in your seats. We are not a daycare; we won’t wipe your asses for you.” Iyana turned quickly to the front, her face to determined. She didn’t want to be scolded on the first day. It would be unacceptable. The woman in the front of the classroom didn’t look at all old enough to be the Shadow Mage she had heard so much about from her family and grandfather. Lilly and Bryce Zephyr were among some of the most powerful Mages ever. Why they were teaching high school Mages? Who knew.

Iyana tried to keep her excitement contained. What would she learn today, how would her abilities grow? The possibilities were endless! Despite the terrifying Mrs. Zephyr and her soul devouring demon, he looked the title, Iyana was happy to have them here. Giving her their knowledge? Best part of being allowed to attend this mysterious club.

Bryce Zephyr

Bryce and Lilly were outside of the classroom just before 2:50 when she turned to Bryce. "I hate kids." Bryce stifled his laugh as they walked into the room as Lilly started yelling at the students. “Everyone in your seats, now. Before that clock even thinks about moving to this time you should already be in your seats. We are not a daycare; we won’t wipe your asses for you. Bryce. Take it away.”

Bryce smiled as Ikari jumped onto his shoulder. "Good afternoon students. First off, Lilly's right. We are not here to take care of you. While we will not flat out set you up for failure you will be challenged." Second. You will pay attention while you are in this classroom. What we teach will keep you alive, and if we judge you not worthy to go on the class "Field Trips" then you will stay here. Third. I understand that not all of you are what you would consider people persons. I encourage you to make friends. They can become the fuel that drives you to become as strong as you can be." Bryce smiled remembering back to him and Zach's fights.

He was distracted by his memories for a few seconds before Ikari pawed at his head snapping him back to reality. "Right, sorry. Ok so this semester I will be your Magic Spells and Creatures teacher while Lilly will be your combat instructor. Today being our first class I figured we could start out with something fun..." Bryce's smile changed to more of a smirk. "I know how all of you must feel. Coming to class and paying attention is a real drag. So! I'mma give you a chance to get out of class. If you so choose you can challenge me to a duel. If you manage to hit me you don't have to show up tomorrow." He smile looking around at the class's reactions. "And if that isn't good enough for you then you can challenge Lilly here to a duel. If you can hit her you can have the whole rest of the week off." He smiled and opened his arms. "Any takers?" He continued smiling as he scanned through the class putting names to faces, but there was one student he couldn't remember seeing in the papers listing off his students. His eyes flashed as he locked his gaze with him. 'Who are you that thinks he can sneak into my class unnoticed?'

Ceil Liadon

Ceil smiled as Iyana jumped all over him happy that she was happy. "I know I've got a lot of explaining to do, but can we do it later?" He smirked slightly as a bright little bird flapped over to him and his sister twittering about being friends. Ceil's smile fell quickly. 'Friends? Why would anyone want to be friends with me?There's no chance anyone would want a failure like me to be a friend. I'm just gonna stick with Iyana. As long as I have her and Briar I wont need anyone else.' Iyana was able to reply, but before Ceil could form a coherent thought long enough to reply the teachers came into the room.

“Everyone in your seats, now. Before that clock even thinks about moving to this time you should already be in your seats. We are not a daycare; we won’t wipe your asses for you. Bryce Take it away.”

'This is one of my teachers? Who comes into class like this cussing out the students?! I have a strange feeling about being here... I really hope they don't notice I don't belong...'

Shortly after the other teacher spoke up introducing himself. "I know how all of you must feel. Coming to class and paying attention is a real drag. So! I'mma give you a chance to get out of class. If you so choose you can challenge me to a duel. If you manage to hit me you don't have to show up tomorrow. And if that isn't good enough for you then you can challenge Lilly here to a duel. If you can hit her you can have the whole rest of the week off. Any takers?"

'Challenging your students to a fight?! What kind of crazies are these people?' As Ceil was having his internal panic attack he felt like someone was watching him. Bryce had locked his gaze directly onto him. 'So much for going unnoticed... Only way I'm going to get out of this is to prove I belong here. Gods I really wanted to avoid having to do something like this.' Ceil stood slowly lifting one of his hands to the white half helm he wears on his head hiding most of his face from the other students. "I-I'd like to challenge Mrs.Zephyr."

Bryce

Bryce's smile flashed as he kept his gaze locked on the boy. 'So that's your game then? Fight to prove you belong here. I'd likely be angry if he didn't remind me so much of myself, and besides Lilly most likely won't realize he isn't actually one of our students yet so she won't kill him... For now... I'll let him sneak along, but sooner or later he's going to have to do something.'

"You really scared me there, meanie." Said Levi after Robin jumped in front of him, which made him at the very least chuckle. He knew it was impossible for him to sneak up on anyone unless in a snowstorm, and his face was majorly faking it, which made him laugh all the more. He said hello and Paws lifted her head at the names of the two teachers of the year. "From what I've heard, Bryce is the smarter and more controlled one, while Lilly is the stronger and less controlled one." This made Robin’s head tilt. He had heard something about the teachers, but being him, he didn’t look into that much that was Paws job.

” I’m sure they aren’t that bad. Besides, I doubt you have anything to worry about, you master anything you touch. I’m the one who needs his demon to remind him to not drink milkshakes.” He laughed at his own expense a little, remembering last week when she did stop him from ordering it at a Sonic. He knew he wasn’t the best, and was a bit of a freak overall, but he did try, and with at least one friend like Levi, he felt better than ‘Snowflake’ as his nickname went.

“Everyone in your seats, now. Before that clock even thinks about moving to this time you should already be in your seats. We are not a daycare; we won’t wipe your asses for you. Bryce. Take it away.” Said a woman suddenly, making him jump a bit. ‘These must be the teachers, scary……’ He thought and then walked to where Paws was laying, and put her in his lap to listen to the husband wife pair. ”Robin, I shouldn’t have to say it, but please avoid getting into trouble.” Said Paws, making him pet her head. “No promises.”

Any takers?" Said the man, Bryce. Robin was just thinking how cool it would be to duel with such a powerful person, and Paws interrupted saying to him quietly. ”No, no, no, NO! Robin Aaron Jayson, you listen to me. There is no way you are fighting either of those two.” ”Why not??” He whined. Paws sighed and said, ” These two are powerful, very powerful. Both rank B. You wouldn’t be lucky to hit them, you’d be lucky not to end up in a coma. She is a Dark mage and he is Wind.” She pleaded with him.

”Paws, if I step up, even if I get my ass kicked, I stood up. And who knows, if I hit one, then I get to take a nap tomorrow!” He smiled, and then saw someone challenge Mrs. Zephyr. ‘I need to do it.’ He thought, and began to raise his hand and stand up. When fully up, he spoke, ”If I may, I wish to duel you, Mr. Zephyr.”

"If you say so, but I might end u-" Levi was interrupted by the suddence enterance of Lilly. Levi internally seethed at what she said, but showed no sign of anger on his exterior. He instead of doing something stupid, walked over to a desk and sat down near a girl that appeared to have, to Levi's surprise, Pink hair. Levi, after a few seconds of being surprised, waved lazily at the girl. He sincerely hoped she wouldn't see at something other than a friendly gesture, he didn't want to have any sort of awkwardness with his classmates.

Levi hadn't been told if there was a specific place he had been supposed to sit at, so he had simply choosen an empty seat. After a few seconds of contemplating whether or not to ask his teachers, he darted his eyes back to Lilly and finished hearing the last of her words. Levi focused his attention on who he assumed was Bryce. Levi silently sighed in relief as he noticed that Bryce was much more polite than Lilly. He probably couldn't have handled two... blunt and aggressive teachers, he probably would have exploded by now.

Levi wasn't particularly surprised that the MSC , Magic Spells and creatures, class was to be taught by Bryce and even less surpised that Lilly was to be a combat instructor. Levi did however, notice the slight change in Bryce's smile and focused his mind.

Hell no.

No way.

Levi had spent a few minutes listing reasons why he would not fight Lilly or Bryce. The most important reasons he found that he wouldn't fight Bryce were Levi's inexperience and the fact that Bryce was rumored to have done quite a bit. As for Lilly, that was a given, Lilly seemed to be more proficient in fighting than Bryce, was a shadow mage, and Lilly was a stronger mage than Levi. It would be a waste of Levi's time for him to fight either, and a hit on his pride. He didn't want to end up vomiting in the bathroom because he had been beaten easily.

Then he saw the kid with a strange mask volunteer and searched his memory for a list of students. He didn't see any matches for the child and was sure that the kid was an intruder. Levi, even with his memory, didn't remember seeing the kid anywhere, and had looked at a roster for the children. Then again, there was also the chance that the kid was an exchange student, so Levi didn't speak up. Levi did however, intend on confronting the kid later on, without intimidation of course. He just planned on asking a few questions that would seem harmless but hold a lot of power. Levi then changed his attention to the fact that the kid had actually volunteered and smiled. He would have a chance to gauge Lilly's power and the kid's simultaneously. This was too good of a chance to pass up studying both.

Levi internally facepalmed when he saw Robin volunteer but didn't say anything. He had faith that Robin wouldn't get killed, but he wasn't sure how powerful Bryce was. Levi really wished he had taken the time to learn telepathy spells. At least he could have helped Robin that way. Then he remembered his demon and inconspicuously threw a wad of paper at his demon. Baal had never fallen asleep but had instead simply rested and quickly changed size when he was hit with the paper. Changing between a normal and small size wasn't particularly hard for Baal, seeing as he was versed in Earth Magic and the spell was simple enough. Baal had, this time, made himself as small as a bird and manuevered himself onto Levi's desk. "Lat-" Levi was about to begin mocking Baal before he remembered that he was in a classroom. Levi didn't want to miss out on any 'field trips' that might be planned by the Medieval club.

Min straightened herself up when she heard Lilly and Bryce come into the room, then went to a seat when she heard Lilly's statement. She felt slightly embarrassed that she had been reprimanded on the first day of class but didn't show so other than the almost unnoticeable blush on her cheeks. Azathoth, having not wanted to take up too much space, shrunk to the size of a bird and sat on Min's shoulder.

Min would have snickered at the 'make friends' comment, but decided not to. She wasn't the social type and wouldn't be in the right place to laugh at Bryce's comment, so she instead decided to simply follow the advice if she could.

She decided that she would attempt to take on Bryce. She knew that she most likely couldn't beat him in a battle, but she hoped that she could at least hit him. She was after all, able to increase her speed and could most likely land a hit if their battle didn't take too long. "I'll make an attempt to fight you Mr. Zephyr, but I wont promise I'll be able to." Min paused for a second, "I'd also not like to spar in an enclosed space, if that's a problem, then I retract my acceptance." Min was not stupid, she wasn't going to fight in a territory where she would most likely lose. Azathoth simply shook her head at Min's acceptance, but couldn't do anything about it.

Iyana Liadon

"Good afternoon students. First off, Lilly's right. We are not here to take care of you. While we will not flat out set you up for failure you will be challenged. Second. You will pay attention while you are in this classroom. What we teach will keep you alive, and if we judge you not worthy to go on the class "Field Trips" then you will stay here. Third. I understand that not all of you are what you would consider people persons. I encourage you to make friends. They can become the fuel that drives you to become as strong as you can be."

Iyana bit her lip out of excitement, a habit of hers. The energy the two of them gave of was scary, but awe inspiring. Any mage that cared could see that they were highly respected.

"...I know how all of you must feel.

Even Iyana thought that if someone took that offer, they were nuts.

"I-I'd like to challenge Mrs. Zephyr." Ciel said as he slowly stood. Izac and Iyana’s jaws dropped, Ciel, who had always been the misfit in the powerful Water Mage family known as the Liadon’s, was about to challenge one of the strongest Shadow Mages of her generation. What exactly happened when she left?

She hadn’t noticed the two people behind her that had raised their hands. All she heard was people continuing to volunteer.

“If I may, I wish to duel you, Mr. Zephyr.” A boy with white hair said.

"I'll make an attempt to fight you Mr. Zephyr, but I won’t promise I'll be able to." a taller girl said with a pause, "I'd also not like to spar in an enclosed space, if that's a problem, then I retract my acceptance."

“All these people are crazy,” Izac whispered to Iyana, curling up in her lap.

“Or they really want the day off…” Iyana was internally debating on whether or not she should attempt at a match with one of the two. But her inner voice scolded her, saying she wasn’t ready for such a thing. “Yeah, I’m not going to try.” Iyana giggled with her demon as she poked his belly.

This is Scarlett talking.
This is Avery (her demon) talking.
This is Scarlett thinking.
Everyone else talking.

Scarlett Oliva Sinclair

“Today kids, there will be slightly chance of rain but no worries! We’ll have plenty of sunlight the next following days!!” Her alarm clock droned on and on about the weather.

“You know its actually gonna be sunny the whole day including today.” Avery corrected, "Stupid radio people. They don’t know anything.”

“Shut up…” Scarlett mumbled into my pillow, “Sleep. More time. Shut. Up.” There was a period of silence before laughter erupted. “What?!”

“You do know you’re over thirty minutes late for class.” Avery replied smirking.

“YOU IDIOT!!!” She screeched while flying off the bed in a hurry making everything on the bed slip off. “Move you idiot. Why didn’t you wake me up earlier.”

“Remember the first time I tried waking you up?” He replied crossing his arms and sat down on the only chair in her room.

In her closet, she browsed her eyes around her closet for a while before settling on her lazy clothes. Scarlett switched out of my pajamas’ into a madras, white band tee underneath, and ripped jeans with combat boots in the closest. By the time she came out Avery shook his head showing his disapproval in her choice of clothing for the day.

“Oh yea. Whatever. Works for me bro.” She smirked then grabbed her backpack and headphones. “Leggoooooo.”

“Legos? I wanna play with legos! Legos! Legos!” Avery cheered as he jumped in the air making her even late then she already was. Annoyed, she raised a hand then slapped him hard on the shoulder making him stop. “Ouch Scarlett! Was that necessary?” Raising an eyebrow, she dragged him out the door making him mutter a string of cuss words.

“Come on slug.” She muttered, glancing down at her palm for the classroom number. It was the first day of Magical Arts Club and she was already late. Waking up late was a daily thing for her on the break but absolutely not on school days.

Whilst searching the hallways for the classroom, Avery took a step back observing her curiously. “You’re nervous aren’t you?” He grinned teasingly, “There’s nothing to be afraid of darlin’.”

She patted her thigh discreetly wiping off sweat from her hands. “What? Nervous? Calm kid is my middle name.” He moved his arm around her shoulders in a comforting way and shook slightly.

“You’re gonna be alright kid.” He muttered just as they approached the classroom.

Scarlett quickly shrugged off his arm and replied, “Please behave Ave. Just for today.” He raised his hands up in alarm and nodded his head slightly. She placed a hand on the doorknob and twisted it slowly opening the door. Choosing a seat quickly with Avery following behind, Scarlett thought to herself. One thing I hate is being in the front row and being one of those eager beavers. I may make good grades but I am not that thirsty.

The tall guy in the front, who seemed to be the teacher, was talking when I sat down, "...I know how all of you must feel. Any takers?" Scarlett tried her hardest not to scoff at his little challenge. There was no way anyone in the classroom could take on the teachers. They were probably extremely trained and had a ton of experience.

Looking up at the teachers she took a moment to observe them. The girl teacher seemed tough, strong, and easily able to take down any student in the class. The guy teacher seemed the same way, but there was something about him that Scarlett felt that it would be easier to fight against. Avery glanced over from her right and smirked noticing she was deciding whom to fight. He bent down to whisper in her ear, “Pick the guy. You’re gonna go down either way.” She swatted her hand shooing Avery away from her ear. Scarlett had already begun to make her mind on not fighting anyone instead.

Several students had already begun to volunteer. She shook her after every challenger spoke up. She glanced down at her hands wryly and thought to herself, “Oh man, I better not have to fight because I came really late.”

Bryce Zephyr

Bryce looked over the class as they debated weather or not to accept his challenge. The first to accept was the boy who wasn't supposed to be there who'd challenged Lilly. 'I hope the kids good Lilly very well may end up hurting one of the students during this little game.' The next one to volunteer was Robin, the ice mage. 'This will be fun. My first fight as a training mage was against an ice mage. I wonder what kind of a fight he'll be able to be put up.' Robin's challenge was quickly followed by Minerva the earth mage who's only request was to fight in an open space. 'I knew we'd have at least one volunteer but I never expected so many of my students to have this kind of fire.'

The next challenge came as quite a surprise. Martin, the very sickly looking boy raised his hand seemingly looking at Lilly. Bryce only nodded to the boy as he continued scanning over the class not wanting to miss any of the volunteers. Bryce's devilish smile widened as the next hand shot up. 'Leo, it's been a while since I tried to teach you how to fight the first time. I can't wait to see how you've grown.' Not close to finished the class continued to offer up volunteers. Kai volunteered shortly after Leo challenging Lilly.

Bryce smiled looking over the class. "Alright now unless there are any other volunteers I believe we have a proper set up. Miss.Scarlett I'm going to have to request that you participate in sparing with one of us. This will be the only warning. Showing up late or inexcusably missing this class will drastically harm your chances of attending our Field Trips." Bryce smiled running through the challenge list in his mind again trying to decide where they'd be going. "Now I believe there are three challengers for each Lilly and I. Robin, Minerva, and Leo. You will be with me on the roof of the west wing of the school for our match. Kai, Martin, and Mr. Liadon. You will be with Lilly in the forest for your matches." Bryce had to smirk at the black haired boy's response to his figuring out his last name. 'I saw what happened when the two of you met. I can put that much together. "Scarlett you are free to chose either of us to be your opponent." Bryce looked back over the class. "Alright, those of you who chose not to challenge us you will need to choose one of us to watch. While you may not fight directly I expect you to pay attention to the battles. Learn while you watch. Demon will not be allowed to participate in the sparing matches. I don't want any of them getting hurt. OZ and Ikari will act as the judges during the matches. If anyone is wounded they will ensure that they are quickly delivered to the medical wing. So! If there are no questions I believe we should get the show on the road! Those wishing to watch me as well as Robin, Minerva, and Leo let's make our way to the top of the roof. Everyone else follow Lilly into the forest." With that Bryce walked out the door to the classroom his students following him closely.

Upon reaching the roof of the school Bryce turned and smiled. "Welcome everyone. This part of the roof is specially protected for sparing matches. We are completely hidden from view here. We will begin in order of challenge received. Unless someone really wants to go first and the others find it agreeable." Ikari stood next to Bryce and grew to her full size standing level with Bryce's waist.

Ceil Liadon

Ceil's original calm began to fade as more and more students volunteered to challenge the teachers. 'Well this is what I have to do to prove I belong here.' After a few minutes of explanation he found that he would be fighting Lilly in the forest. 'Perfect. I'll be able to use the abundance of plants for an advantage.' He remained quiet but turned offering Iyana a small smile before following Lilly out to the edge of the forest.

Robin wasn’t entirely sure if he was shaking from fear, excitement, or the fact Paws looked like she wanted to kill him. He had done it, he challenged his teacher to a duel for the chance to have a day off on the first day of classes. If he had tacos, and a happier Paws and maybe Ryan Gosling, this would be just like a dream he had over the summer. ‘I hope I win.’ He thought. ‘ You are an idiot.’ Spoke Paws.

“Maybe, but I’ll make you a deal. If I lose, then I’ll brush you for an hour straight. I I win, you have to wear those puppy socks I got from the store the other day, the ones with the bones on them.”, Paws only nodded her head, and smirked a little bit. Robin made a promise to himself that he would win, and then Google how much a private island cost later.

Alright now unless there are any other volunteers I believe we have a proper set up. Miss. Scarlett I'm going to have to request that you participate in sparing with one of us. This will be the only warning. Showing up late or inexcusably missing this class will drastically harm your chances of attending our Field Trips. Those wishing to watch me as well as Robin, Minerva, and Leo let's make our way to the top of the roof. Everyone else follow Lilly into the forest.” Spoke Mr. Zyp., as Robin now wanted to call him.

He turned to Levi, and then smiled. “You should have challenged one of them, you have a better chance of winning then me.’ He laughed at himself again. “Will you watch my match? I might need someone to either highfive or carry me back to the nurse. Oh yea, we should get some dinner later.” He spoke, his mind already starting to wander again. He smiled at his friend, picked up Paws, and then followed his group to the roof.

The roof was windy, being up so high, which would probably help Mr. Zyp out, or that’s what Paws said anyways. Robin liked the view from on top of the roof, it was cool, and then his attention was brought back to the teacher. "Welcome everyone. This part of the roof is specially protected for sparing matches. We are completely hidden from view here. We will begin in order of challenge received. Unless someone really wants to go first and the others find it agreeable." He said, meaning his challenge would be up first. He put Paws down, and told her to find somewhere safe, so she wouldn’t fall off the roof. ‘You are crazy if you think I’m leaving you here. I’m watching, and then later, I will wear those stupid socks with pride and shame.’ Said Paws, making Robin feel a new sense of fighting spirit, those socks were going to look sooooo cute!

When the girl spoke, he thought she was going to ask to change the order, but instead changed her mind, he wanted to ask what she was going to say, but was brought back by looking at Mr. Zyp, and walked closed, to signal he was going first. He tried to remember what his parents had taught him about issuing a challenge to another mage; Name, Type, challenge, Bow and then bring up your weapon. Or something like that, he honestly found it dull, and his brothers never challenged him before they shot air balls at him, or sucked him up in a hurricane that one time.

“Mr. Zyphyr, I, Robin Aaron Jayson, Ice Mage, challenge you to a duel.” He tried to say as seriously as possible, and held eye contact. He then went to bow, but felt some dust in his nose and then sneezed very loudly and forcefully, ‘ACHOO!’. He shot back up again, and then said, ” Sorry, Dust bunny attacked me.” He then smiled a bit, and then began to work his magic.

The roof was too small for his polar bear or jaguar, so that left the mice and turtle. ‘ Defense and stragtegy.’ He thought, as Paws lectured him over and over again. He went for his Ice-Chain, it was easiest. He clenched his fist, and then feeling the magic rise in his hands, soften them, letting down a long chain made of solid ice. They were each around an inch long, and slightly thinner, allowing for faster movement. The chain where he held it was close to nine feet long, but he could extend or contact it if he needed to. He then raised it above his head and began to swing it in a circle. Once it was at a pretty good speed, he said. “The first move goes to the one who was challenged, correct?”. He said, and then felt a tiny not in his stomach from knowing he would probably lose, but he was going to show his skill.

Levi's curiosity was struck when Martin, the seemingly weak kid, had raised his hand. Levi assumed that the student must have been hiding something and decided, at that second, that he would definetely watch Lilly's fights.

Levi simply smirked when he saw another late student be 'volunteered as tribute', seeing as the student seemed to have not intended to fight Bryce. Levi would have, if he wasn't going to watch Lilly, watched the resulting fight.

"You should challenged one of them, you have a better chance of winning than me." Levi had a calm expression when Robin spoke to him, "I might have landed a hit, but the odds are against me." Levi was a, according to him, logical thinker. "Anyway, I wont be able to watch your match, but-" Levi pointed towards Baal "he will." Baal resigned himself to having to watch Robin's match. "As for dinner, we could probably just order pizza later." Yeah, that seemed like a good idea.

Levi stood up and began following Oz, having decided to take his chances with the unnerving demon than with the red-headed magician. Baal, in his miniature form, followed behind Robin until they reached the roof, then went towards Paws.

Levi felt amusement rise in him as soon as he heard Lilly speak. He would have laughed, but decided to spare himself the trouble of angering the teacher. He wasn't stupid.

"Good luck!" Levi's voice had a fake happiness in it when he wished luck towards Ceil, the boy who he assumed was to be first to fight. He didn't want to seem rude, that would be a pain.

Levi, after having wished the boy luck, went towards Kai. Levi knew the name of all the registered students at the school, meaning that he knew who the girl was. Levi assumed, from the girl's apathetic persona, that the girl was a genius. This was most likely an idiotic assumption, but Levi didn't really care.

"Gabriel Levia-" Levi almost gave away his middle name, "Gabriel Moriarty" Levi internally sighed. "Kai, I'm going to assume that you're smart enough to figure out Lilly's combat patterns." Levi had an expressionless face while he said this, "That's besides the point." Levi had a voice to match his face.

"Would you mind speaking to me after class is done?" Levi wasn't trying to romance her, he simply needed information. "I can watch her fight as much as I want, but I'll never be able to get the information I need without actually fighting her." Levi gave an honest explanation. "Good afternoon by the way." Levi's voice seemed cheerier when he said this.

Kai Atropos

Before Kai could completely engage, another boy had walked up to her. "Gabriel Levia- ... Gabriel Moriarty," he introduced himself. "Kai, I'm going to assume that you're smart enough to figure out Lilly's combat patterns. That's besides the point." Gabriel's voice and face were expressionless.

"Would you mind speaking to me after class is done? I can watch her fight as much as I want, but I'll never be able to get the information I need without actually fighting her." He paused. "Good afternoon by the way."

An exchange of information, she thought as she perked up internally ever so slightly. Kai nodded at Gabriel. Lee would be able to interoperate for her, seeing as he would be watching as will as along with Kai.

"Why do you want to know," Lee jibbed from atop Kai's head. Kai removed him and placed Lee in her arms, patting his head. "We don't know his motives! He could hurt her," Lee continued with a glare that was impossibly cute. Kai just continued to pat her little demon. It was the only things she could do to reassure Lee that it was okay. Mrs. Zephyr was perfectly capable when it came to handling herself as far as Kai was concerned. That was when it hit Kai. There was one move she could use that wouldn't destroy anything but some of her own energy. Dragon Wing. If she formed her wings, she could get the advantage of the sky, something Mrs. Zephyr didn't have. In her plotting, she forgot about the boy at her side and looked back to him. She was somewhat curious as to why he wished to know why he wished for the information only Kai seemingly could obtain by simply watching. She wasn't going to ask, obviously, so he just assumed it was for learning purposes, just as she was.

Iyana Liadon

"How do you feel about Lilly? I think she's a bit too hot-headed to be a teacher. Then again, there are a lot more surprising ones out there." Iyana hadn’t noticed the boy next to her until he had spoken up, making her jump up slightly. She looked at him and smiled, slightly embarrassed she had let someone sneak up on her.

“I think she seems like a nice person … somewhere deep, deep down. I’m just worried about my brother.” Iyana set Izac onto the grass, giggling at his rolling around. She was unbelievably worried about Ceil, but Izac was just too adorable not to laugh at. “Like I was telling Mr. OZ here,” Iyana continued, touching the demon’s arm lightly, “As far as I know, Ceil just got his powers. He had always been an outcast because he couldn’t learn Water Magic like me. I don’t know what exactly he was thinking when he volunteered…” Iyana sighed.

“Oh! I’m Iyana Liadon, heir to the Liadon Family Head, by the way, it’s very nice to meet you.” Iyana smiled sweetly to the boy, offering a hand to shake. She had always hated introducing herself as such, but it was how the young Mage was taught. Her mother had told her it was only proper, but to her it felt like she was trying to assert that she was ‘better’ than most others. “I hope we have a great year together and get to know each other.”

Levi assumed that the girl's nodding was a 'yes' and smiled. He would have had to ask another person for the exchange, and quite frankly, he didn't think they would suffice with their preciseness. Then again, he could have picked the wrong person, but it was too late to backtrack.

"Would it sate your curiosity if I said that I was simply a student eager to learn?" Levi had a sheepish grin on his face when lee asked him a question. "Just kidding," Levi's grin faded, "The reason I want this knowledge is simple," Levi paused dramatically or at least as dramatically as he could be, "Ipsa scientia potestas est" He hoped the girl spoke Latin.

"To be more precise, I need a backup plan in case something goes wrong and our lovely-little teacher here loses control in the future." Levi was, to say the least about him, honest when he wanted to be. He hoped the girl understood his meaning and that he didn't need to say more. He also hoped that anyone who overheard would understand the necessity of what he had said. He could not and would not let himself defenseless should it turn out his teachers were not who they seemed to be. He would incapacitate his teachers should the necessity arise, without a moment's hesitation. He assumed that he could not kill them. "I also plan on speaking to those who have fought Bryce, but that's for a later time." Levi decided to mention this slightly important piece of information.

Levi laughed when he heard the demon talking about his motives, "I'll let you choose the location, that way you don't have to worry about oh-so-terrifying me." Levi said the last part of this statement with a bit of unintentional sarcasm. He didn't expect that he could do much to his classmate, but he understood the caution the demon had. He would, if he were the demon, have had a similar enough response to a random stranger.

Levi turned his attention back to Lilly and Ceil, assuming that the two were soon to fight. Levi began observing everything he could about them and organizing his thoughts. He would need to remember nearly everything he saw to be sure that he was getting the correct information and by effect, the correct deductions. He was still listening for Kai or the small demon's words, but had his vision focused on Lilly and Ceil.

♠Lilly Zephyr♠

"Alright, I'm Ceil Liadon, Plant mage." He smiled hearing the murmurs from the surrounding students as he lifted his left hand pointing at Lilly. "Seed Bullet." Hundred of small super fast seeds shot out of his sleeve towards his teacher most of them fell scattering across the ground and quickly dug their way down into the soil.

Lilly jumped lightly out of the way, smirking at the young man. Oh, a Plant Mage. I'm terrified. It may have seemed harsh, but she had always seen any other Mage Types as weak. Or at least she thought of Shadow Mages as more superior. Bryce and Zach were the only exceptions to her philosophy. Lilly had discovered last year that if she stayed silent during a battle, it usually gave her more of an edge, and with a simple smile on her face, it was hard to know her next move. But something deep inside her always told her never to underestimate anyone. To keep on her toes. Even the simplest things would trip her up long ago. When he old teacher was still alive, Robert, that was one of the many things he had taught her. And then there was Jessie, the man she had spent endless months with to learn and become even stronger. Lilly hadn't heard from him in the longest time, just as she hadn't seen anything of Liam, her father.

The bigger the head, the harder the fall, she had heard many times. Some of the students from the previous year that were watching obviously didn't seem interested in anything that was going on. They were going to die young in Lilly's eyes. Only those who watched every chance they had would live long enough to put their powers to use. Boy it had been a long day. Lilly just couldn't wait to go back to the darkness.

ON THE ROOF

Lilly kicked her feet back and forth as she watched her husband spar with the young Ice Mage. Many of the students were looking at her oddly and one finally had the guts to ask. "Mrs. Zephyr ... aren't you supposed to be in the forest?"

"Yes I am, but if you kids cannot learn the difference between a Shadow Clone and the real thing, your dead meat. Besides. It's a tracking lesson. I lost all the kids that were going to the forest in the hallway so I could switch out with the Clone. In all aspects, the Clone and I are exactly the same. There is no way of telling I'm over here and the Lilly in the forest is a fake. Until she gets hit that is. Then she'll dissipate and I'll be there in a second flat." Lilly fluttered her pitch black wings behind her and smiled devilishly at the young student. "I think the only one who would know about my Shadow Clones is little Leo."

Lilly stared intently at the young Ice Mage, letting her mind wander. He reminded her a lot of Robert. And, in a strange way, it made her miss him. Despite all the awful words they had exchanged, they had an amazing bond. Lilly, yes the all powerful Shadow Lord, still had nightmares about what the three young Mages had to do in order to save the world.

Something about the young man reminded her of Robert, and it wasn't the Mage Type. What was it?

Scarlett Oliva Sinclair

Scarlett's face fell when her thoughts came true. In the background she could hear Avery's soft snickering obliviously directly toward her.

"Alright now unless there are any other volunteers I believe we have a proper set up. Miss Scarlett I'm going to have to request that you participate in sparing with one of us. This will be the only warning. Showing up late or inexcusably missing this class will drastically harm your chances of attending our Field Trips. Now I believe there are three challengers for each Lilly and I. Robin, Minerva, and Leo. You will be with me on the roof of the west wing of the school for our match. Kai, Martin, and Mr. Liadon. You will be with Lilly in the forest for your matches. Scarlett you are free to chose either of us to be your opponent. Alright, those of you who chose not to challenge us you will need to choose one of us to watch. Everyone else follow Lilly into the forest." Mr. Z explained.

Feeling like one of those cliche head banging on desk when something goes bad moments in movies, Scarlett scowled instead at Avery.

"Aww poor whittle Scarlett is gonna get beaten up on the first day! Who are you gonna choose?!"Avery chuckled behind her as she followed the rest of the class out. Ignoring Avery, she kept a steady pace behind the group.

"Ok. If I fight Mrs. Z then it's a girl vs girl fight. Meaning she can do what ever she wants. Including the fact she can hit harder then a guy would. Or maybe Mr. Z would just be as painful. Or I could stand way behind everyone and he'll forget. Yes. Yes. Yes." Scarlett thought to herself pulling a thinking face. Just as the class split off into different directions, Scarlett trailed behind Mrs. Z's group.

Avery, being the nut head he usually is, took off last minute clutching Scarlett's wrist toward Mr. Z's group.

"What are you doing?!"Scarlett half yelled half whispered.

"Oh please, I know your little plan. Just follow my suggestion an you'll be fine. You'll probably be equally beaten up either way." Avery smirked. He could read Scarlett like an open book unlike most people. In response, Scarlett pinched Avery's shoulder and marched off ahead of him. Leaving him slowly drag behind muttering a string of curse words. By then they were lagging fairly far behind the group.

After a couple minutes, they had finally arrived at rooftop. Mr. Z began speaking, "Welcome everyone. This part of the roof is specially protected for sparing matches. We are completely hidden from view here. We will begin in order of challenge received. Unless someone really wants to go first and the others find it agreeable."

"Ok, I'll go last. Unless they forget or run out of time." Scarlett thought to herself as she took a few steps back from the group. She was still able to see the match from where she stood but was barely noticeable in her opinion.

The ice mage was the first one up and was already summoning his power. He spoke proudly though she could tell he was nervous somewhat, “The first move goes to the one who was challenged, correct?”

Kai Atropos

"Would it sate your curiosity if I said that I was simply a student eager to learn?" The boy had a sheepish grin on his face when Lee asked him a question. "Just kidding," Levi's grin faded, "The reason I want this knowledge is simple," Levi paused, "Ipsa scientia potestas est." Kai nodded.

Knowledge is power, she thought.

"To be more precise, I need a backup plan in case something goes wrong and our lovely-little teacher here loses control in the future. I also plan on speaking to those who have fought Bryce, but that's for a later time." Levi laughed when he heard the demon talking about his motives, "I'll let you choose the location, that way you don't have to worry about oh-so-terrifying me." Levi said with a hint of sarcasm.

Kai's attention whipped to the field as the battle begun. Mrs. Zephyr had jumped to her right. Maybe she favored her right? She wouldn't be able to tell from just that. "This is an epic battle that everyone is scared of? You better give all so I have something to watch," Lee grumbled at Kai. The pink haired girl looked down at her demon for a split second, but anyone could tell there was unspoken discipline in her stare. "We passed an old fountain on the way here. I think that will be good," Lee decided. "How about it, Kid?" Lee wasn't to worried about Kai, she could handle herself, but there was that five percent of his body that wanted Kai to keep to herself to remain stable. That was when he remembered something.

"What mage type are you anyways..."

Levi's mind began doing calculations as soon as Ceil began his magic. Levi noted how fast the seeds went, how fast they dug, and how far their spread was. He wouldn't be able to deduce anything solid from one look, but could most do something after seeing multiple attacks from Ceil. Levi did find the fact that Ceil spoke his 'spells' an interesting one and kept that fact in the corner of his mind. He wondered if other mages had to speak their spells and shook his head quickly, that was a stupid assumption.

Lee proposed a location and asked Levi a question. "I'm not sure I know where that is, mind showin-" Levi was shocked when he noticed what Lee had asked, "Shadow." It was a blunt statement. He had hoped to hold off on showing his magic-type, but couldn't really do so anymore. Levi, after personal experience, believed that most people saw Shadow Mages as dark and evil people. Having come to that conclusion, which may or not be false, Levi tended to hold off telling his magical type. It wasn't that he was scared of being prejudiced against, he just really didn't want to bother with his classmates fearing him. It was a bother.

"I'll follow you to the fountain you mentioned after class ends, get my attention if you need anything." Levi wasn't very good at saying 'see ya later', to be frank.

Levi grabbed his phone and texted Baal while simultaneously watching the fight, being able to text without looking at his phone. The message was one asking Baal to record the fight between Bryce and whoever was up. Baal responded with a simple 'sure'.

Levi, after putting away his phone, focused his full attention on the fight and pulled out an umbrella of sorts, then covered himself from sunlight. He had decided that he would get himself in darkness as to speed up the creation of the purple tattoo-like tendrils on his body. He'd need as many as possible to help heal the loser of the fight or so he believed. Then again, the fith probably wouldn't get too violent, but he wanted to be able to help those who were hurt. Not for morals reasons, mostly for gaining favor from them. He barely knew any of the students and could care less about most of their well-beings.

Iyana Liadon

"Y-yeah. Nice to meet you too," He quickly shook his head and closed his eyes for a second before opening them again. "My name is Nexon Vermillion. This is my demon, Noel." He introduced himself, taking half a step back to reveal Noel hiding beside him.

Nex realized this. He place his hand on her head and gave a faint smile. "You don't have to be so tensed. Just say hello," Her head went down a little. The ears she tried to hide showed itself and lowered a bit, and her tail did the same, just like a dog. She took her time, but brought her head again. She faced the other way and spoke shyly. "H-Hello."

"S-She's a little bit awkward around Mages, so please don't mind her."

"I know I might look scary, Noel. But I would never hurt anyone." Iyana giggled. There was no way she could intimidate anyone. "Here," she picked up Izac and held him high. "This is Izac! He's got ears and a tail too! It's kind of funny, I'm a Water Mage and he's a Fire Demon." Iyana scratched the top of Izac's head then poked his nose. "He actually bites. But he's tiny, it doesn't hurt bad."

Iyana cocked her head to the side ever so slightly, curious as to why the demon might not be comfortable around other Mages. All the demons in her family were very sociable, maybe a little competitive, but very sociable. "If you ever need a girl to talk to, I'm all ears," Iyana said to Noel with a smile.

♠Lilly Zephyr♠

Lilly had noticed that Leo's power had been increasing, so she eyed him, curious as to what little Leo was doing. Then the worst possible things happened. Leo actually landed a punch on Bryce! But Bryce was quick to respond with a counter, sending their nephew far off into the forest, near where her battle's were taking place.

"Bryce you idiot," she said more to herself than anything as she flew off, following the scent of Leo. It didn't take long for her to find him, along with a blonde haired male sitting on Bryce's boulder. Leo looked fine, thank the Gods, but how? With the force of that hit, it was almost like Bryce was hitting ... Zac. Lilly dropped in front of Leo who was storming away from the man on the rock. "Are you alright Leo?" Her wings dissipated and for once, Lilly looked concerned. Bryce could have killed Leo, their family.

Wait till Annie hears about this... Lilly shuddered at the thought of angry Annie.

"I'll kick your uncles ass for this later, alright? Do you want to stay with my group for now or do you want to go to the infirmary?" Lilly sighed, letting her head hang as she kneeled down. "That was to close ... Bryce is going to die."

No matter how much Lilly wanted to confront the man on the rock, she couldn't. From far away, she wasn't sure if it was Zac. They had nearly identical scents, their aura was the same but stronger ... but it had been so long. Last time she remembered seeing Zac was 13 years ago. She didn't even remember if she had run into him since then.

All she knew was that her nephew was upset, so he was priority.

THE BATTLE IN THE CLEARING

Lilly, or the one that was battling anyways, smirked at the boy. What he was planning? She had no idea and didn't care enough to try and figure it out. The seeds weren't much of a distraction, but the vine swinging right at her was. It was aiming for her midsection, a harder place to dodge. If it made contact, it would go right through her, so she should make it look like it went through on purpose.

With that thought, she covered her body in the paralyzing Shadow Fire that could kill anything it touched if not controlled right. The vine passed right through her, no problem. Then she felt the real Lilly's presence enter the forest, a ping of worry hit her. Not that it was her fault if it was discovered she was a Shadow Clone, but it would ruin the surprise. The Clone looked over at the demon OZ, who shrugged his shoulder lightly and signaled for her to continue on.

The Clone 'popped a squat' on the ground creating the illusion of entering her Shadow State by turning her eyes completely black and chanting odd poems in Latin. Shadows emerged from everywhere, joining together in front of her to create an 8 foot tall mass of shadows, writhing about as they waited for a command from the higher ranked Shadow Clone sitting behind them.
