❝Ergo sum qui sum.❞

Image

❝The Basics❞

Image| Full name | Leonard "Leo" Malcom Juhnazard Reinhardt. He prefers to just be called Leo, and not be associated with his idiot parents.

| Gender | Male... Duh?

| Age | Leo is exactly 14 Years Old.

| Mage Type | A combination of a few odd things, Leo is a tri-classed Shadow, Earth, and Air Mage who specializes in the manipulation of localized Gravitational Fields. While his main focus lies in manipulating Gravitational Fields and Forces, he is still proficient enough with the other classes to know a few basic spells of each type, only just the beginner stuff really.

| Rank |]Very strong for his age, no doubt due to his heritage as the heir of the Legendary Reinhardt Family. In fact, Leo's father is the world famous Zachary Rienhardt, who helped save the world with his two friends Lily and Bryce Zephyr. As a result of this, despite his young age, Leo is an S class.

❝Deeper Description❞

Image| Eye Color | A strange red, funnily enough. Neither of his parents possessed this eye color, or so the legends say. Further, his pupils are an odd shape, like that of a star.

| Hair Color | His hair is a lovely shade of red, just like his mother's.

| Height | Just around the right size for someone his age, also is exactly 5 feet and 5 inches tall. However, if his huge father is anything to go by, Leo won't be done growing for a while.

| Weight | Once again, Leo is just the right size for his age, weighing approximately 146 lbs. He's skinny, and well-muscled, but not scrawny.

| Skin Tone | Leo's skin is naturally a bit more pale than his father's. He gets this from his mother, and a profound lack of outdoor activities.

| Distinct Markings | Besides the odd bumps and scrapes he always seems to have all over his body, and the scars formed by these injuries, Leo has only one marking he can't explain. On his left shoulder, right over the shoulder blade and just behind the rotator cuff, Leo has a strange tattoo. It formed the day he met his demon, perhaps the contract of a powerful bond, or maybe his magic is just a bit strange. It's most likely the latter.

| Physical Description | Face Claim: Enma Kozato, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!

Leo is, in a word, pathetic. He comports himself with nowhere near the amount of confidence his father had at the same age. Further, he sports the marks of a boy constantly tested and battered by his own life. Bruises, bumps, and scrapes all seem to find a home with him at least once or twice a week. His eyes are large and doleful, not sharp and piercing like his mother's, and they hold none of the fire that his father's did. Leo's features are still a little soft, no doubt it's simply the fact that, even for a keeper, also is young. His age is seems to follow him around like a grey cloud, making him seem unamiable and giving him an aura of aloofness. As a result, he tends to walk with a wide berth around him. People don't want to be seen associated with that weird little boy who doesn't fit in. Even worse, also himself always looks somewhat mopey, only rarely showing interest in anything. He isn't depressed, far from it, he just likes to walk with his head down to avoid attention.

Despite all the things that seem to separate also from his Legendary Parents, keepers who knew of Zachary Rienhardt, can't help but draw some similarities. Leo's beginning to grow into his father's strong features. Leo's hair is just as unruly as his father's and his voice is just as commanding. Though he doesn't speak often, Leo's vocal tamber is almost an exact replica of his father's. If you didn't know any better, you'd think you were speaking to a young Zac. When excited, Leo can also be seen wearing a near wolfish smirk, one exceedingly similar to his father's, and though it takes quite a bit of doing, Leo's even managed to pick up his father's wild and fierce expression of joy, the kind Zac could only get when he was fighting.

Lastly, Leo dresses quite similarly to how his father did at the same age. Though he wears the school appointed uniform in classes and during most activities, Leo often wears a similar flak jacket to his fathers, near identical well-fitting jeans, boots, t-shirts, and various bracelets and necklaces. When he thinks e can get away with it, for fear of facing the wrath of his auntie, Leo even goes so far as to wear Converse sneakers. Shh, don't tell.

❝Interests❞

Image| Powers |
-Main Power Area: Gravity

† Trick Room: Leo creates a field of localized pulsations in gravity to reverse the effect any motion might have within a a radius of 12 feet centered on himself. This field, of course, doesn't affect him, but will force just about any Mage, permitting they aren't simply better than him, to move in the opposite direction of any direction they try to move. For example, if someone attempted to run towards Leo, they would be flung backwards. Right becomes left, up becomes down, etc. senses, however, are unaffected by this field, meaning that also still appears to be exactly where he is, gravity is simply shifting you around him. This skill takes quite a bit of power, and cannot yet be used for an extended period of time.

† Giga-Impact: Leo targets something to which he has line of sight, and fires a single, massive pulse of gravity at that target at near instantaneous speed. While fast, this spell has a bit of charge up time associated with it. There is a period of roughly 4 seconds in which Leo must do nothing but concentrate on his intended target. Failure to do so will most often result in missing. Regardless, anything hit by this pulsation will be affected as if struck with gravitational force equivalent to, depending on how much energy Leo's put into it, a swiftly moving wrecking ball. This skill targets a circular area, roughly 5 feet in diameter, and requires a fair bit of energy to produce as much force as he does. In a fight situation, Leo can only fire, currently, six wrecking ball strength shots before becoming too tired to fight.

† Destiny Bond: Leo creates an odd field of gravity around himself in which all movements are slowed and his movements are sped up. This area has a radius of roughly 12 feet. This is created by intensifying gravity on all others but himself, and dampening the same forces of gravity upon his own body. This allows also to run faster and jump higher, but it doesn't make him any stronger. Further, it has the added perk of helping also outmaneuver his opponents and outspeed them. Leo can use this skill simultaneously with Trick Room, but doing so massively limits the amount of time he can use both skills before becoming too tired to continue fighting.

- Special Move:

† Spacial Rend: Leo creates a gravitational singularity with a diameter of two feet. This singularity maintains stable position for the duration of his Ultimate, but grows in size and power for a period of 3 minutes. During this time, also is unaffected by the force exerted on him by the singularity. The singularity's effect begins slowly, at first it affects all things around it lightly, as if it were a mild wind storm, sucking all things toward the center. This is done without too much force, however, as the Ultimate continues to persist, the singularity will become more and more powerful, finally affecting the area around it as if it were in the middle of a massive combination whirlpool and hurricane with a diameter of twenty feet. Leo is unsure of where anything that gets sucked into the singularity goes. He expects it's another dimension, or maybe another time, or perhaps they're simply crushed into nothingness by gravity. Either way, he doesn't know yet. Finally, when the ultimate ends, the singularity will violently reverse polarity for a single instant. Anything within seventy feet of the singularity will be affected as if they were consumed by the blast of a white hole, bombarded with extreme heat, energy, and force. Leo is not immune to the explosion at the end of the skill's duration. Since Leo is actually terrified of this ability, he will not use it unless pressed into the furthest corner, even if there is no hope for victory without it, Leo will still hesitate. The destruction caused by his ultimate skill is too much for him to cope with.

-Secondary Area: Air

† Harden: Leo can massively condense air around his body, or in a static shape away from himself. These hardened clusters of air are as sturdy as steel, and can be walked on and used as armor. Further, these pockets of hardened air can be violently released when pushed on, creating a repulsive effect, as if they were the bumpers in a pinball machine. This technique can be used in one of two ways, the first is to power punches. If times correctly, Leo can release the air when his fist connects, adding massive force to the impact. The second use is to turn also into a human pinball, abounding himself off the controlled explosions made by the detonation of the hardened air pockets, allowing Leo to achieve massive speed.

| Weapons |
✔ His own fists.
✔Air armor/actual gauntlets. Leo hates all weapons that aren't naturally a part of the body. The only weapon he condones, is his own two fists. There's just something about letting your opponent have it with your own two hands.

| Likes |
♥Sleeping. Naps are sacred.
♥ Silence. It is golden, after all, no better way to concentrate.
♥ Silly things, such as comic strips, funny pictures, of the silly faces his demon makes.
♥ Soft things, like animals or blankets. They remind him of a warm feeling he had as a kid, one he had when he was still with his real mother.
♥ Soda pop. That combination of sugar, caffeine, and carbonation is just perfect.

| Dislikes |
✖ Bullies. Leo's had enough of them.
✖ His father. Leo despises his father with all his heart.
✖ Overly loud/harsh noises, like idiotic shouting, or sacrilegious alarm clocks.
✖ His powers. Leo wishes he were born without them.
✖ Poor Sportsmanship/bad manners. Whining and boasting are both poor substitutes for just about anything, no?

❝Welcome to my Life❞

Image| Personality | Leo appears to be a child caught between nature and nurture. Though he hates his powers, he loves the freedom they give him. Though he hates his father, he can't help but respect what the man did for his generation of keepers, and though also himself is loathe to the idea of becoming a true Keeper, something in his blood boils for adventure, justice, and the power to defend those who cannot protect themselves.

Most of the time, Leo can be seen sporting a sort of apathetic expression. Though this appears to be due to some sort of depression or lack of social puissance. This is mostly untrue. Leo is incredibly intelligent, more than capable of keeping an eye on multiple things at once, and is something of a genius when it comes to picking up on just about anything. For someone who was often bullied as a small child, Leo is extremely amiable. Though he's not much of a talker, and is just the littlest bit shy, Leo isn't the kind of guy to just stare at you blankly when you're talking to him. He'll speak up once he's spoken to, and is generally pretty easy to get along with. Leo is modest to a fault, and would never openly brag about anything he's accomplished, even if his deed is something truly impressive. Leo hates the idea that someone might be flattering him in order to get on his good side before stabbing him on the back, and has developed an oddly self-deprecating style of humor which serves to keep him feeling like his head isn't too big. Leo hates two-facedness and is more than a little blunt with people whom he suspects are fake with him.

While Leo is a friendly enough kid, he's actually just trying to keep his head down. During elementary school, also was bullied quite viciously, and, as a result, became the type of person to avoid conflict wherever it arises. He hates competition, he can't stand the idea of fighting, and he abhors the thought that someone out there is looking down on him as a target. However, that being said, Leo sports a nasty temper, which has gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion. Leo prides himself on being an even-keeled teenager. It takes a lot to get under his skin, but should it ever happen, Leo's outward persona of apathy, groomed intelligence, and general calm friendliness, is replaced by what can only be called his father's recklessness. Leo's back straightens up, his mouth twists into a wicked smirk, and his eyes light up with a sort of fire that most normal people would only call crazy. Though his perceptiveness doesn't diminish in the slightest while angered, his intelligence does, causing him to pick unnecessary fights and get into trouble he could usually avoid.

❝Who I Am❞

| History | Leo's circumstance of birth are all but unknown, even to him. His auntie refuses to tell him, but even when he was little, Leo was smart enough to figure out she wasn't his real mother, or even his real auntie. Leo does consider her his real mother, as she has taken care of him since he was but a wee little baby.

Leo was born into a household not his own. His mother did not give birth to him, and she barely even looked like him, let alone share his affinity for gravity magic. This last part wasn't too difficult to comprehend, differences in magical type aren't uncommon for families of keepers, but their magic didn't even share the same sort of energy signature. That was weird, even to a young Leo. Regardless, also grew up in the Kenna household, it was his home. It was where he belonged. He loved his family, even if he wasn't theirs. However, as Leo grew, he couldn't help but notice, as stated above, that he was different from his family. His magic barely had anything to do with fire, something very typical of the Kenna family. Further, he shared barely any facial features with his mother. Worse yet, Leo grew up without a father. Annie Kenna was the only parent that also ever knew. Sure he had his uncle Bryce and his Auntie Lilly, but even then, Leo had no father figure that was constantly in his life. After all, Leo lived 13 years without ever meeting his uncle. Still, Leo learned to forgive and forget, he didn't need his real parents. Leo had his Auntie Annie, and that was good enough for him. She was his only family, and also loved her more than anything.

This blissful ignorance was not to last. On his thirteenth birthday, Leo met his demon, Hans. Although it was strange, Hans wasn't too surprising for also, after all, he was already acquainted with Ikari and Oz and Fenix, demons were no strangers to also. However, what shocked Hans was that Leo knew nothing of his Father, the Legendary Zachary Rienhardt. Innocently enough, Hans pried into Leo's knowledge of his own father, there wasn't any. Outraged and embarrassed, Leo stormed off after his, "mother", demanding she tell him about his father. The beans had been permanently spilled, there was no fixing them.

What Leo learned shocked him to the very core. Regardless of any blood ties to that man, Leo hated him beyond all reason. Further, who was Leo's real mother? His auntie Annie wouldn't answer. She told Leo that, when he was old enough, he would find out for himself. Ever since that day, Leo's been going to Henry Jefferson high school. He was old enough to have to start going there anyway, and being as it was his father's alma mater, perhaps Leo could get some answers.

❝The Basics❞

| Full name | Hans is, roughly the size of a grapefruit when rolled up, but he is football size when unrolled.

| Gender | Hans is male. Or at least it would appear that way. He always dodges the question. Maybe he's just weird...

| Age | Not sure here either. Though most earth spirits are pretty Old, Hans never gives the same answer twice. He's so weird...

| Mage Type | Hans is about the oddest combination of Mage types there is. He is both Electricallly and Earthenly inclined, specializing in metal and electricity manipulation.

❝Deeper Description❞

| Eye Color | Han's eyes are brown when he isn't using his powers, however, they turn silver and glow ever so slightly when he activates his abilities.

| Hair Color | A tawny brown and slightly khaki colored, Hans's coloration is pretty normal for an armadillo.

| Height | Not much taller than a football, Hans is roughly 7 inches tall.

| Weight | Not much heavier than a football either. Hans weighs approximately 10 lbs.

| Skin Tone | Not a lot of Hans's skin is visible, but what little there is, is mostly the same as his skin, tannish and khaki in color.

| Distinct Markings | Not many to speak of, his glowing powered up eyes aside. Hans is, for all intents and purposes, a regular armadillo.

| Physical Description | What about being an armadillo do you not understand?

❝Interests❞

| Weapons |
✔ Rolling up into a ball

| Likes |
♥ Spicy things
♥ Playing tricks on Leo
♥ Making people guess if he's mentally stable.
♥ Stealing, and eating, the left shoes of complete strangers.
♥ Making mountains out of Molehills.

| Dislikes |
✖ People who bully Leo.
✖ People who underestimate Leo.
✖ Sometimes, Leo. Only when he doesn't push himself hard enough or recognize how talented he is.
✖ Bitter things/things that aren't blisteringly spicy.
✖ Sleeping while rolled up in a ball. It's a killer on his back.

❝Welcome to my Life❞

| Personality | Hans is, in a word, strange. He's almost the polar opposite of Leo. He's brash, foolish, irritating, overly confident, and just a little bit crude. He likes spicy things, getting into trouble, and having his tummy scratched. Even worse, Hans is a trickster with a bad reputation of getting Leo into lots of trouble, and then backing out when the going gets rough. Hans like to push also to be even stronger than he is, because he knows, with time, that also will surpass even his father. Hans knows that this can only be accomplished with tremendous amounts of hard work, and as such, he often volunteers Leo for things he doesn't want to do. Despite his playfulness, apparent lack of reason, and complete and utter disregard for the rules, Hans is a huge sweetheart. He loves Leo more than anything, and is his number 1 fan, biggest supporter, and is friendly and caring to a fault. He will always have Leo's back, no matter what, even when he's pushed Leo into a corner that neither of them can get out of. When it really counts, Hans will be by Leo's side to the bitter end. Further, though he's a bit of an idiot, he's not stupid. Hans is surprisingly clever, and is very good at pinpointing the precise weaknesses and strengths of a person. It's nothing magical, Hans just gets a good read for other people. Further, Hans is an expert tactician, often pointing out strategies that Leo would never think of. Because of this, Leo has taken to calling the, "Battle Idiot." This makes Hans quite grumpy, it's very funny to watch.

BRRRRRRIIIIIING!!! The schools bells rung, disturbing the sleeping Leo. He shifted in his sleep, lazily bringing his head up off the desk to gaze at the board in front of him. The other students were mostly out the door by now, all headed off to their after school activities, Leo sighed. Slowly, Leo stood, careful not to disturb the little one that was napping on his head. Gently, and with the utmost care, Leo lifted his sleeping demon off of his head, and placed him in the most outside pocket of his backpack. There he could remain sleeping without being jostled by the crowd of children clamoring up and down the hallways. "It's so unfair. I wanted to keep sleeping too." Leo complained, but after a moment of stretching, he just shrugged, and slung his bag onto his shoulders, heading off towards his locker to dump his school supplies before going to his next, "class."

As per the usual, Leo walked through the hallways of Henry Jefferson with near impunity. It wasn't that he was the biggest, the toughest, or even the most popular, quite the opposite. Leo was probably the shyest, nicest, least popular, and most physically unimposing student in attendance. He was, by no means, scrawny or weak, but no one was doing him any favors in the social ladder. Leo didn't care much, he kind of liked it this way. In elementary school, Leo had dealt enough with bullies and thugs. He didn't care much about being popular, he was just glad his high school life wasn't a repeat of those years. As he walked, people moved out of the way around him. Whispering voices poured rumors through the hallway like a serpent's benediction. "There goes the Rienhardt boy." They said. "What a freak." They taunted. "Doesn't he have any friends?" They asked. In his own head, Leo only chuckled. "It was my dad, Zac Rienhardt, that saved the lives of you ungrateful human swine." Leo thought morosely to himself.

That was when Hans decided to wake up. It started simply, a slight shuffling in the corner of his backpack, followed by a muffled shout, and the bursting of a small armadillo's head from the depths of Leo's backpack. "GAAAH! Leo! You know I hate it when you shove me in that stupid pocket!" Leo chuckled. "Not here, there are other people watching." Leo whispered in warning to his little demon. Hans scoffed. "Pfft, as if that's ever stopped me before. I could run up to one of those self-righteous pricks, shock them so hard their shoes fly off, feast on said footwear, and be done with it and no one would even see me." Leo only chuckled. "I suppose you could, maybe next time." The boy whispered to his demon. Suddenly excited, Hans nearly jumped for joy, a hilarious spectacle in it's own right. "Really?" Hans asked, joy filling his entire being, "you'd let me do that?" Leo openly laughed this time. "Only if you stick to just eating their left shoes. No shocking." Hans whined, and began to protest, but before he could do so, Leo stepped in front of his locker, expertly undid the lock, and tossed the whole backpack into the locker before swiftly slamming the door and taking off towards class.

Leo laughed to himself. The look on Hans's face was rather funny. Leo was actually just a little bit late, but if he ran, he'd make it on time. So he did. Leo jogged down towards the forbidden wing of school, and took a left, right into the heart of the place. It had been easy enough to find the place, after all, all you had to do was follow the trail of magic energy. That, or feel for his Uncle Bryce. The stupid amount of energy he gave off unconsciously was usually the best way to pinpoint his location. Just before Leo stepped into the room, Hans poofed into existence on Leo's shoulder. "That's not funny Leo! I thought I would be stuck in there while you got to have class all to yourself!" Leo chuckled. "That was the point silly." Before Hans could retort, Auntie Lilly spoke up. Well... really, she just kind of shouted. Leo took his seat in the back corner of the room as quickly and quietly as he could. Immediately, he began to daydream, ignoring the conversation entirely. Halfway through the introductions, Leo was filled with the sudden urge to use the restroom, desperately. Nonchalantly, and still staring out the class window into the forest beyond the school, Leo lazily raised his hand to ask if he could be excused, just in time to be one of the first to volunteer to duel his Aunt and Uncle.

Suddenly terrified, Leo's hand shot back down, he backpedalled furiously as his uncle quickly noticed his raised hand. "N-no, U-uncle Bryce, th-that's not what I... I just wanted to use the bathroom." Leo shuddered as he remembered the last time his uncle tried to "teach" him how to fight. Noticing his discomfort, Hans spoke up. "Ooh, that a a great idea Leo! You should totally fight your Uncle! After that, let's fight your Aunt too! We volunteer! We volunteer as tribute!" Hans shouted, a look of idiotic joy on his face. Leo, on the other hand was mortified. He quickly grabbed his little demon, placing his hand over the little one's mouth, but it was too late.

Iyana Liadon

"Good afternoon students. First off, Lilly's right. We are not here to take care of you. While we will not flat out set you up for failure you will be challenged. Second. You will pay attention while you are in this classroom. What we teach will keep you alive, and if we judge you not worthy to go on the class "Field Trips" then you will stay here. Third. I understand that not all of you are what you would consider people persons. I encourage you to make friends. They can become the fuel that drives you to become as strong as you can be."

Iyana bit her lip out of excitement, a habit of hers. The energy the two of them gave of was scary, but awe inspiring. Any mage that cared could see that they were highly respected.

"...I know how all of you must feel. Coming to class and paying attention is a real drag. So! I'mma give you a chance to get out of class. If you so choose you can challenge me to a duel. If you manage to hit me you don't have to show up tomorrow. And if that isn't good enough for you then you can challenge Lilly here to a duel. If you can hit her you can have the whole rest of the week off. Any takers?"

Even Iyana thought that if someone took that offer, they were nuts.

"I-I'd like to challenge Mrs. Zephyr." Ciel said as he slowly stood. Izac and Iyana’s jaws dropped, Ciel, who had always been the misfit in the powerful Water Mage family known as the Liadon’s, was about to challenge one of the strongest Shadow Mages of her generation. What exactly happened when she left?

She hadn’t noticed the two people behind her that had raised their hands. All she heard was people continuing to volunteer.

“If I may, I wish to duel you, Mr. Zephyr.” A boy with white hair said.

"I'll make an attempt to fight you Mr. Zephyr, but I won’t promise I'll be able to." a taller girl said with a pause, "I'd also not like to spar in an enclosed space, if that's a problem, then I retract my acceptance."

“All these people are crazy,” Izac whispered to Iyana, curling up in her lap.

“Or they really want the day off…” Iyana was internally debating on whether or not she should attempt at a match with one of the two. But her inner voice scolded her, saying she wasn’t ready for such a thing. “Yeah, I’m not going to try.” Iyana giggled with her demon as she poked his belly.

This is Scarlett talking.
This is Avery (her demon) talking.
This is Scarlett thinking.
Everyone else talking.

Scarlett Oliva Sinclair

“Today kids, there will be slightly chance of rain but no worries! We’ll have plenty of sunlight the next following days!!” Her alarm clock droned on and on about the weather.

“You know its actually gonna be sunny the whole day including today.” Avery corrected, "Stupid radio people. They don’t know anything.”

“Shut up…” Scarlett mumbled into my pillow, “Sleep. More time. Shut. Up.” There was a period of silence before laughter erupted. “What?!”

“You do know you’re over thirty minutes late for class.” Avery replied smirking.

“YOU IDIOT!!!” She screeched while flying off the bed in a hurry making everything on the bed slip off. “Move you idiot. Why didn’t you wake me up earlier.”

“Remember the first time I tried waking you up?” He replied crossing his arms and sat down on the only chair in her room.

In her closet, she browsed her eyes around her closet for a while before settling on her lazy clothes. Scarlett switched out of my pajamas’ into a madras, white band tee underneath, and ripped jeans with combat boots in the closest. By the time she came out Avery shook his head showing his disapproval in her choice of clothing for the day.

“Oh yea. Whatever. Works for me bro.” She smirked then grabbed her backpack and headphones. “Leggoooooo.”

“Legos? I wanna play with legos! Legos! Legos!” Avery cheered as he jumped in the air making her even late then she already was. Annoyed, she raised a hand then slapped him hard on the shoulder making him stop. “Ouch Scarlett! Was that necessary?” Raising an eyebrow, she dragged him out the door making him mutter a string of cuss words.

“Come on slug.” She muttered, glancing down at her palm for the classroom number. It was the first day of Magical Arts Club and she was already late. Waking up late was a daily thing for her on the break but absolutely not on school days.

Whilst searching the hallways for the classroom, Avery took a step back observing her curiously. “You’re nervous aren’t you?” He grinned teasingly, “There’s nothing to be afraid of darlin’.”

She patted her thigh discreetly wiping off sweat from her hands. “What? Nervous? Calm kid is my middle name.” He moved his arm around her shoulders in a comforting way and shook slightly.

“You’re gonna be alright kid.” He muttered just as they approached the classroom.

Scarlett quickly shrugged off his arm and replied, “Please behave Ave. Just for today.” He raised his hands up in alarm and nodded his head slightly. She placed a hand on the doorknob and twisted it slowly opening the door. Choosing a seat quickly with Avery following behind, Scarlett thought to herself. One thing I hate is being in the front row and being one of those eager beavers. I may make good grades but I am not that thirsty.

The tall guy in the front, who seemed to be the teacher, was talking when I sat down, "...I know how all of you must feel. Any takers?" Scarlett tried her hardest not to scoff at his little challenge. There was no way anyone in the classroom could take on the teachers. They were probably extremely trained and had a ton of experience.

Looking up at the teachers she took a moment to observe them. The girl teacher seemed tough, strong, and easily able to take down any student in the class. The guy teacher seemed the same way, but there was something about him that Scarlett felt that it would be easier to fight against. Avery glanced over from her right and smirked noticing she was deciding whom to fight. He bent down to whisper in her ear, “Pick the guy. You’re gonna go down either way.” She swatted her hand shooing Avery away from her ear. Scarlett had already begun to make her mind on not fighting anyone instead.

Several students had already begun to volunteer. She shook her after every challenger spoke up. She glanced down at her hands wryly and thought to herself, “Oh man, I better not have to fight because I came really late.”

Bryce Zephyr

Bryce looked over the class as they debated weather or not to accept his challenge. The first to accept was the boy who wasn't supposed to be there who'd challenged Lilly. 'I hope the kids good Lilly very well may end up hurting one of the students during this little game.' The next one to volunteer was Robin, the ice mage. 'This will be fun. My first fight as a training mage was against an ice mage. I wonder what kind of a fight he'll be able to be put up.' Robin's challenge was quickly followed by Minerva the earth mage who's only request was to fight in an open space. 'I knew we'd have at least one volunteer but I never expected so many of my students to have this kind of fire.'

The next challenge came as quite a surprise. Martin, the very sickly looking boy raised his hand seemingly looking at Lilly. Bryce only nodded to the boy as he continued scanning over the class not wanting to miss any of the volunteers. Bryce's devilish smile widened as the next hand shot up. 'Leo, it's been a while since I tried to teach you how to fight the first time. I can't wait to see how you've grown.' Not close to finished the class continued to offer up volunteers. Kai volunteered shortly after Leo challenging Lilly.

Bryce smiled looking over the class. "Alright now unless there are any other volunteers I believe we have a proper set up. Miss.Scarlett I'm going to have to request that you participate in sparing with one of us. This will be the only warning. Showing up late or inexcusably missing this class will drastically harm your chances of attending our Field Trips." Bryce smiled running through the challenge list in his mind again trying to decide where they'd be going. "Now I believe there are three challengers for each Lilly and I. Robin, Minerva, and Leo. You will be with me on the roof of the west wing of the school for our match. Kai, Martin, and Mr. Liadon. You will be with Lilly in the forest for your matches." Bryce had to smirk at the black haired boy's response to his figuring out his last name. 'I saw what happened when the two of you met. I can put that much together. "Scarlett you are free to chose either of us to be your opponent." Bryce looked back over the class. "Alright, those of you who chose not to challenge us you will need to choose one of us to watch. While you may not fight directly I expect you to pay attention to the battles. Learn while you watch. Demon will not be allowed to participate in the sparing matches. I don't want any of them getting hurt. OZ and Ikari will act as the judges during the matches. If anyone is wounded they will ensure that they are quickly delivered to the medical wing. So! If there are no questions I believe we should get the show on the road! Those wishing to watch me as well as Robin, Minerva, and Leo let's make our way to the top of the roof. Everyone else follow Lilly into the forest." With that Bryce walked out the door to the classroom his students following him closely.

Upon reaching the roof of the school Bryce turned and smiled. "Welcome everyone. This part of the roof is specially protected for sparing matches. We are completely hidden from view here. We will begin in order of challenge received. Unless someone really wants to go first and the others find it agreeable." Ikari stood next to Bryce and grew to her full size standing level with Bryce's waist.

Ceil Liadon

Ceil's original calm began to fade as more and more students volunteered to challenge the teachers. 'Well this is what I have to do to prove I belong here.' After a few minutes of explanation he found that he would be fighting Lilly in the forest. 'Perfect. I'll be able to use the abundance of plants for an advantage.' He remained quiet but turned offering Iyana a small smile before following Lilly out to the edge of the forest.

Min had been trained to fight and had actually done so before, so the idea of sparring wasn't very nervewrecking. Bryce's reputation however, left Min cautious.

Can I even do this?'

The thought that popped into her head seemed viable, but she wouldn't know. She had never actually fought Bryce and had not seen the man fight.

Min felt a bit annoyed that she wouldn't be fighting the forest, but decided that this was her fault for being a bit vague with her request. She wouldn't back down because she lost a possible advantage, it was already too late for that.

Min followed Bryce to the roof. She appeared to be perfectly calm, but she was actually a bit excited. Min sat a bit away from Bryce, Azathoth perched on her shoulder. "I don't particularly care when I fight as long as I'm not first." She wasn't going to pass up the advantage of having seen Bryce fight.

"You just had to volunteer, didn't you?" Azathoth mumbled this mostly to herself. She could guess that the two teachers were powerful and that there was no way Min would beat them. Sure, maybe Min could land a hit, but there was no way she would beat them. "I want to see how well my abilities can compare to professionals, that's all." Min would not explain any further than she just had. She had other reasons for volunteering, but there was no way she would reveal them.

"Mr. Zephyr, before we start, I have another question." Min paused for a second, "Actually, can I speak to you after class, privately?" Min had, of course, seen the names of the students in her class. One name in particular stood out more than the others. She had to, to sate uneasiness, ask about the student later on. She would have asked right then and there, but she didn't want anyone poking their noses in.

Robin wasn’t entirely sure if he was shaking from fear, excitement, or the fact Paws looked like she wanted to kill him. He had done it, he challenged his teacher to a duel for the chance to have a day off on the first day of classes. If he had tacos, and a happier Paws and maybe Ryan Gosling, this would be just like a dream he had over the summer. ‘I hope I win.’ He thought. ‘ You are an idiot.’ Spoke Paws.

“Maybe, but I’ll make you a deal. If I lose, then I’ll brush you for an hour straight. I I win, you have to wear those puppy socks I got from the store the other day, the ones with the bones on them.”, Paws only nodded her head, and smirked a little bit. Robin made a promise to himself that he would win, and then Google how much a private island cost later.

Alright now unless there are any other volunteers I believe we have a proper set up. Miss. Scarlett I'm going to have to request that you participate in sparing with one of us. This will be the only warning. Showing up late or inexcusably missing this class will drastically harm your chances of attending our Field Trips. Those wishing to watch me as well as Robin, Minerva, and Leo let's make our way to the top of the roof. Everyone else follow Lilly into the forest.” Spoke Mr. Zyp., as Robin now wanted to call him.

He turned to Levi, and then smiled. “You should have challenged one of them, you have a better chance of winning then me.’ He laughed at himself again. “Will you watch my match? I might need someone to either highfive or carry me back to the nurse. Oh yea, we should get some dinner later.” He spoke, his mind already starting to wander again. He smiled at his friend, picked up Paws, and then followed his group to the roof.

The roof was windy, being up so high, which would probably help Mr. Zyp out, or that’s what Paws said anyways. Robin liked the view from on top of the roof, it was cool, and then his attention was brought back to the teacher. "Welcome everyone. This part of the roof is specially protected for sparing matches. We are completely hidden from view here. We will begin in order of challenge received. Unless someone really wants to go first and the others find it agreeable." He said, meaning his challenge would be up first. He put Paws down, and told her to find somewhere safe, so she wouldn’t fall off the roof. ‘You are crazy if you think I’m leaving you here. I’m watching, and then later, I will wear those stupid socks with pride and shame.’ Said Paws, making Robin feel a new sense of fighting spirit, those socks were going to look sooooo cute!

When the girl spoke, he thought she was going to ask to change the order, but instead changed her mind, he wanted to ask what she was going to say, but was brought back by looking at Mr. Zyp, and walked closed, to signal he was going first. He tried to remember what his parents had taught him about issuing a challenge to another mage; Name, Type, challenge, Bow and then bring up your weapon. Or something like that, he honestly found it dull, and his brothers never challenged him before they shot air balls at him, or sucked him up in a hurricane that one time.

“Mr. Zyphyr, I, Robin Aaron Jayson, Ice Mage, challenge you to a duel.” He tried to say as seriously as possible, and held eye contact. He then went to bow, but felt some dust in his nose and then sneezed very loudly and forcefully, ‘ACHOO!’. He shot back up again, and then said, ” Sorry, Dust bunny attacked me.” He then smiled a bit, and then began to work his magic.

The roof was too small for his polar bear or jaguar, so that left the mice and turtle. ‘ Defense and stragtegy.’ He thought, as Paws lectured him over and over again. He went for his Ice-Chain, it was easiest. He clenched his fist, and then feeling the magic rise in his hands, soften them, letting down a long chain made of solid ice. They were each around an inch long, and slightly thinner, allowing for faster movement. The chain where he held it was close to nine feet long, but he could extend or contact it if he needed to. He then raised it above his head and began to swing it in a circle. Once it was at a pretty good speed, he said. “The first move goes to the one who was challenged, correct?”. He said, and then felt a tiny not in his stomach from knowing he would probably lose, but he was going to show his skill.

Though he had successfully stifled his wee little demon, Leo had not escaped the wolfish grin and searching eyes of his Uncle Bryce. Leo sighed. This class was slowly turning into a nightmare. Not only would he have to fight his uncle Bryce, he'd have to do it in front of all his classmates. "Ahh man, what a drag..." Leo whined, to no one in particular. His thoughts turned, rather darkly, to the embarrassing scene that was sure to follow his defeat at the hands of his uncle. All the while, Leo gripped his little demon tighter and tighter, his hands still covering the poor little thing's nose and mouth. Slowly turning from red to purple to outright blue, Hans could take it no longer. If this kept up, he would die. So, he did what he had to do. He bit Leo's fingers. "Yowch!" Leo shouted, standing straight up, and releasing his little demon, quite violently, into the air, and sending him up through the ceiling tiles and into an air duct. Sweet oxygen finally restored to him, Hans rolled up into a ball and rolled out of the hole he'd made upon entering the ceiling. Luckily, his landing was softened by Leo's skull, causing the poor boy to promptly sit back down. Leo rubbed his head gingerly. "Jeez Hans, what the hell was that for?" Leo griped. "You were suffocating me! I had to get out somehow. It's not my fault you're a brainless twit!" Hans countered. Stymied, Leo pouted, crossed his arms, and said nothing. This whole spectacle had, of course, taken place during the silence that preceded his uncle's announcement. Blushing bright red, Leo tried not to think about what an idiot he'd just made out of himself. It didn't work. Then his uncle spoke up.

Bryce smiled looking over the class. "Alright now unless there are any other volunteers I believe we have a proper set up. Miss Scarlett I'm going to have to request that you participate in sparing with one of us. This will be the only warning. Showing up late or inexcusably missing this class will drastically harm your chances of attending our Field Trips." Bryce smiled as he doled out the punishment. Leo only groaned. His uncle was such a jerk sometimes. Hans rolled back into a ball and rolled himself into Leo's lap. Leo, who had already forgiven the little demon, absentmindedly scratched and petted Hans, who reveled in the attention. Bryce continued. "Now I believe there are three challengers for each Lilly and I. Robin, Minerva, and Leo. You will be with me on the roof of the west wing of the school for our match. Kai, Martin, and Mr. Liadon. You will be with Lilly in the forest for your matches." Hans's ears pricked up, and he jumped back onto Leo's desk, which forced the red haired boy to stifle a chuckle. Watching Hans jump was one of Leo's favorite pastimes. Hans ignored Leo. Brace had said match. Singular. Was he intending on fighting them all at once? If so, now was a fantastic time for Leo to showcase his power. While the others were distracting Bryce, Leo might be able to get in a gravity pulse or two. If all else failed, also could take it up close and personal with Trick Room and Destiny Bond. Leo had only recently developed the skill and power necessary to fuel both techniques at once. Bryce still didn't know about it. Hans smiled to himself. Leo might actually be able to do it. Hans rolled back down into Leo's lap, allowing Leo to let him some more. Leo slowly stood, and followed his classmates out as well. As they walked, Hans whispered his idea into Leo's ear from his perch Leo's shoulder. Leo agreed to test it out, but he still had his own doubts. Bryce was much more powerful than them. He was probably more than capable of handling a few T class students at once.

Upon reaching the roof of the school Bryce turned and smiled, facing the students. At that, Robin, Leo's classmate, and an Ice Mage, stepped forward. Leo had no qualms about him going first. Ice was a decent match up against Wind. Robin should be able to provide some sort of distraction. As they combatants took their beginning positions, Leo slowly walked over to where Ikari was, and took a seat. "Hello Ikari." Leo said politely, offering his hand to sniff, as was polite, before scratching her once or twice behind the ears. It was their customary greeting ever since Leo had been a little boy. After the second scratch, Leo took his hand away and clasped his hands in his lap. Leo knew that Ikari didn't like to be pet very much, and he wasn't in the mood to make her grumpy with him. "This is such a drag. I just wanted to use the bathroom..." Leo whined. Ikari ignored him, but Leo swore he heard the slightest of chuckles. "That's not funny Ikari!" Leo said, pouting, and crossing his arms. Hans only shook his head. "Heads up Leo. We'll be going soon." Hans said, clambering down from his spot on Leo's shoulder. Leo only nodded, swallowing hard and steeling himself for what he was about to do. In preparation, Leo began to channel his power. He allowed his strong magics to well up inside him, ready for use. Hans smiled with grim determination. Leo was getting stronger every day, even just a week ago his aura wasn't this powerful, every bit of the S class rank he'd only recently earned. Bryce would know Leo was coming, but he wouldn't know when. Not until it was too late and he was caught in Leo's Trick Room and Destiny Bond.

Ceil Liadon

Ceil followed close to Lilly deciding that he was going to do his absolute bet to prove himself to her. 'If I can impress Lilly there's no way they'll be able to send me away. I may not hit her but I'm going to give my absolute best.'

After a while of walking the group arrived in a clearing a little way into the forest where Lilly began to lay down the rules of their sparing matches. "First off, the forest must remain in tact. If you are to destroy any of it, you will be severely punished. Second, in order to win, you have to hit me with your own fist. Thirdly, don't make this fight personal. Whatever your goal is, I do not give a damn. I am here to train you and that is it. If you want to go cry because you got your ass handed to you on a silver platter, feel free. But I will not tolerate any sort of emotional fluctuation in your fronts. Once we start Combat training, I expect you all to act as I say and do as I say. Anyone who doesn't follow my orders and guidelines will be punished." Lilly moved to the center of the clearing before facing the students once more. "You," Lilly said, pointing to the boy who first volunteered. "You're first up."

Ceil nodded and walked across the clearing reaching his hand up to the helm that half covers his head drawing it away slowly the helm pulled away forming into a blade. "Alright, I'm Ceil Liadon, Plant mage." He smiled hearing the murmurs from the surrounding students as he lifted his left hand pointing at Lilly. "Seed Bullet." Hundred of small super fast seeds shot out of his sleeve towards his teacher most of them fell scattering across the ground and quickly dug their way down into the soil.

On the sideline Briar was standing on his own away from the group silently cheering Ceil onward as he began his fight with Lilly.

Bryce Zephyr

Robin walked forward preparing to begin their battle. As he began his introduction Byce smiled. "I'm glad to see that manners haven't been lost on you kids. Robin Aaron Jayson, I, Bryce Zephyr, Wind Mage, accept your challenge." Bryce lept into the air as Robin formed ice chains. Upon reaching about 15 feet above the school Bryce opened his hand reaching into the air next to him opening his dimensional storage and removing the scythe Aeyla had given him all those years ago. "It's time to begin Robin. Remember you have to hit me with your fist in order to be declared the victor.

Bryce swung his scythe around himself creating a whirlwind around his body. "Of course that's easier said than done. Wind Blades." Swinging his scythe down in a cleaving motion toward Robin a dulled blade of wind sailed towards the student quickly followed by 5 more.

As his blades encroached Robin he felt one of the students gathering power with a quick glance he saw it was Leo. 'What are you planning nephew?'

♠Lilly Zephyr♠

"Alright, I'm Ceil Liadon, Plant mage." He smiled hearing the murmurs from the surrounding students as he lifted his left hand pointing at Lilly. "Seed Bullet." Hundred of small super fast seeds shot out of his sleeve towards his teacher most of them fell scattering across the ground and quickly dug their way down into the soil.

Lilly jumped lightly out of the way, smirking at the young man. Oh, a Plant Mage. I'm terrified. It may have seemed harsh, but she had always seen any other Mage Types as weak. Or at least she thought of Shadow Mages as more superior. Bryce and Zach were the only exceptions to her philosophy. Lilly had discovered last year that if she stayed silent during a battle, it usually gave her more of an edge, and with a simple smile on her face, it was hard to know her next move. But something deep inside her always told her never to underestimate anyone. To keep on her toes. Even the simplest things would trip her up long ago. When he old teacher was still alive, Robert, that was one of the many things he had taught her. And then there was Jessie, the man she had spent endless months with to learn and become even stronger. Lilly hadn't heard from him in the longest time, just as she hadn't seen anything of Liam, her father.

The bigger the head, the harder the fall, she had heard many times. Some of the students from the previous year that were watching obviously didn't seem interested in anything that was going on. They were going to die young in Lilly's eyes. Only those who watched every chance they had would live long enough to put their powers to use. Boy it had been a long day. Lilly just couldn't wait to go back to the darkness.

ON THE ROOF

Lilly kicked her feet back and forth as she watched her husband spar with the young Ice Mage. Many of the students were looking at her oddly and one finally had the guts to ask. "Mrs. Zephyr ... aren't you supposed to be in the forest?"

"Yes I am, but if you kids cannot learn the difference between a Shadow Clone and the real thing, your dead meat. Besides. It's a tracking lesson. I lost all the kids that were going to the forest in the hallway so I could switch out with the Clone. In all aspects, the Clone and I are exactly the same. There is no way of telling I'm over here and the Lilly in the forest is a fake. Until she gets hit that is. Then she'll dissipate and I'll be there in a second flat." Lilly fluttered her pitch black wings behind her and smiled devilishly at the young student. "I think the only one who would know about my Shadow Clones is little Leo."

Lilly stared intently at the young Ice Mage, letting her mind wander. He reminded her a lot of Robert. And, in a strange way, it made her miss him. Despite all the awful words they had exchanged, they had an amazing bond. Lilly, yes the all powerful Shadow Lord, still had nightmares about what the three young Mages had to do in order to save the world.

Something about the young man reminded her of Robert, and it wasn't the Mage Type. What was it?

Scarlett Oliva Sinclair

Scarlett's face fell when her thoughts came true. In the background she could hear Avery's soft snickering obliviously directly toward her.

"Alright now unless there are any other volunteers I believe we have a proper set up. Miss Scarlett I'm going to have to request that you participate in sparing with one of us. This will be the only warning. Showing up late or inexcusably missing this class will drastically harm your chances of attending our Field Trips. Those wishing to watch me as well as Robin, Minerva, and Leo let's make our way to the top of the roof. Everyone else follow Lilly into the forest." Mr. Z explained.

Feeling like one of those cliche head banging on desk when something goes bad moments in movies, Scarlett scowled instead at Avery.

"Aww poor whittle Scarlett is gonna get beaten up on the first day! Who are you gonna choose?!"Avery chuckled behind her as she followed the rest of the class out. Ignoring Avery, she kept a steady pace behind the group.

"Ok. If I fight Mrs. Z then it's a girl vs girl fight. Meaning she can do what ever she wants. Including the fact she can hit harder then a guy would. Or maybe Mr. Z would just be as painful. Or I could stand way behind everyone and he'll forget. Yes. Yes. Yes." Scarlett thought to herself pulling a thinking face. Just as the class split off into different directions, Scarlett trailed behind Mrs. Z's group.

Avery, being the nut head he usually is, took off last minute clutching Scarlett's wrist toward Mr. Z's group.

"What are you doing?!"Scarlett half yelled half whispered.

"Oh please, I know your little plan. Just follow my suggestion an you'll be fine. You'll probably be equally beaten up either way." Avery smirked. He could read Scarlett like an open book unlike most people. In response, Scarlett pinched Avery's shoulder and marched off ahead of him. Leaving him slowly drag behind muttering a string of curse words. By then they were lagging fairly far behind the group.

After a couple minutes, they had finally arrived at rooftop. Mr. Z began speaking, "Welcome everyone. This part of the roof is specially protected for sparing matches. We are completely hidden from view here. We will begin in order of challenge received. Unless someone really wants to go first and the others find it agreeable."

"Ok, I'll go last. Unless they forget or run out of time." Scarlett thought to herself as she took a few steps back from the group. She was still able to see the match from where she stood but was barely noticeable in her opinion.

The ice mage was the first one up and was already summoning his power. He spoke proudly though she could tell he was nervous somewhat, “The first move goes to the one who was challenged, correct?”

Robin’s focus at this exact moment could be described as optimal. He was focusing on the battle he was participating in with a man who could easily kill him, and that was the best he could hope for. He did have the slight idea of opening an ice-cream store in the amazon while spinning the chains, but he was back to normal.

” I'm glad to see that manners haven't been lost on you kids. Robin Aaron Jayson, I, Bryce Zephyr, Wind Mage, accept your challenge." Said Mr. Zyp, making Robin smile, and Paws feel anxiety, she had hoped the fight would be called off for a meteor strike or anything to be honest. She was standing beside Baal, “ Please be safe, Robin.” She half whispered, and hoped.

When Mr. Zyp jumped into the air, Robin felt a familiar twitch in his stomach. He was used to, well still does, fight with his brothers, and all wind mages. He had learned a few things, firstly, he hated his brothers whenever abilities came up, but secondly certain ways to fight them. Jay, the oldest, used air balls and whirlwind drops, so he had to be taken out of the sky. Avon and Pat. (full names Avion and Partrage, yea, fairly bird obsessed family….), the twins, used air around their limbs and blasting off, so they needed to have their limbs tied down, and slightly frozen. Either way would have worked, and he began to put his plan into action.

The blades moved very quickly, but Robin was able to move the swinging chain in front of him, Blocking the first four from getting him. The last two managed to him the chain at the right spot, making him drop it. This was slightly advantageous, and he put his hand on it, and said, ‘Ice-imal: Mice” On the chain, making it break into four pieces, which quickly turned into mice-looking balls of ice, which scurried across the roof. They could be used to blast Ice Chains from them, but not as well controlled as from him directly.

Flying isn’t fair! You are coming down!” He yelled at his air borne teacher, and made a new chain out of the air. He began to swing, and once at full speed in around six seconds, he yelled, “Mice, Blast off!” And at that, the ice shot off chains from four directions, controlled by Robin’s guiding. He was aiming to get at least one limb, each Chain being shot at a different angle, making it slightly difficult to avoid. When they shot, he released the chain, and aimed it at his weapon. That Scythe looked deadly, so maybe chilling it with a little sub-zero chain would help. He hoped he was at least doing a somewhat smart strategy, but didn’t look over to Paws, who figured out his plan, and was fairly shocked he remembered that from training with his brothers.

Leo Reinhardt

Leo's body tensed. The fight had started. He saw that his Auntie Lilly had joined the rooftop festivities, but he didn't pay her much attention. As a Shadow Mage, Lilly could be described as standoffish at best, at worst megalomaniacal and twisted. As much as he love her, which he did, they were family, Leo couldn't help but be unnerved ever so slightly as her massively powerful, dark aura collided with his own. He shuddered at the touch. No matter how much time they spent together, Leo still couldn't quite get used to his Auntie Lilly. Though she was often sweet and caring with Leo, instead of endearing her to him, Leo found the effect terrifying. Leo, who had now shifted from a sitting to a crouching position, slapped his face a few times with both hands, as if to snap himself out of something. After all, he was planning on trying to get the jump on one of the most singularly powerful mages in the history of Keepers themselves, he needed to focus. The only other person who even came close to his Uncle, in terms of sheer power and destructive capability, was Leo's father, Zachary Reinhardt, and Leo wasn't Sven close to that legendary level. In order to successfully strike his Uncle, Leo would need to be fast, sneaky, and just the littlest bit underhanded. He needed to wait for his classmates to distract his Uncle, so he could get in and get out as quickly, and with as little opportunity for his uncle to knock him into next week, as possible. Instead of jumping directly into the fray, or openly challenging his Uncle, Leo sat back, away from the fight, all the while, building up his energy. Though Leo wasn't much of a threat to his Uncle, as far as raw ability went, Leo's simple presence as a competitor in the game would keep his Uncle guessing as to Leo's motive. This made Leo dangerous, and unpredictable, the two best things he could be.

As he watched, and waited, Leo couldn't help but be impressed with Robin. He showed not only fantastic control of his magic, but a surprisingly good amount of raw energy. Leo smiled, the corners of his mouth beginning to curl just like the way his father's used to. In fact, if it weren't for Leo's flaming red hair, dark eyes, and general atmosphere of gloominess, the similarity would be eerie. Leo sports a near identical cowlick to the one his father could never get rid of, his hands are just as big as his father's, and though you wouldn't be able to tell because he slouches so often and wears baggy clothes, Leo's shoulders are just as broad, and his body is covered in the same lean muscle. However, just looking like his father wouldn't help Leo out at all, not with an opponent like his Uncle Bryce. Just because Leo looked like his father didn't mean that he wasn't subject to losing or; worse yet, dying, should his plan go awry. Leo's eyes were trained on his Uncle, watching and waiting. Desperately trying to outwit and outmaneuver someone massively more power file than himself. However, as his Uncle maneuvered and fought, Leo thought he found... an opening? Yes! There it was! Though Bryce held his scythe in his right hand, it created a blind spot at his five o'clock. A blind spot that would be difficult to reach, but would make the scythe's reach count for nothing. As he studied this blind spot, Leo began to assemble a plan.

Finally fully prepared, Leo allowed the energy he gathered to be channeled through his body, creating a powerful nexus of gravity around himself that would reverse and slow all motion within the twelve foot sphere around Leo. Leo had cast "Trick Room," and "Destiny Bond," simultaneously upon himself. Within a twelve foot sphere around himself, Leo appeared to have created an area in which space was distorted and time flowed slower. This wasn't true, of course, Leo was just manipulating gravity. However, so powerful was the magic Leo was weaving, that he appeared to be surrounded by a sphere of water or molten glass. Leo stood as his magic took full effect, weakening the hold gravity had on his body. Whatever hair that wasn't already sticking up in his cowlick took to the sky, spiked fully. This served only to make Leo look more like his father. His clothes rippled and flowed as if disturbed by an unseen wind, and Leo smirked wildly, feeling more than a little stupid and crazy. As Robin's chains of ice took off after Bryce, Leo lowered himself back down, as if preparing to jump. However, Leo was floating, several inches off the ground, what was he planning to do, fly? No, just jump really good. Leo had hardened the air beneath his feet, making the air as solid and durable as steel. He may have appeared to be floating, but Leo was still standing. He wasn't entirely free of gravity, yet. As Robin's chains closed the distance to Bryce, Leo saw his chance, and he took it. Leo fired all of the muscles in his back, legs, and core. Though he wasn't the strongest of keepers, by any means, Leo had another trick up his sleeve. By allowing the air platform to explode towards his body, Leo created an additional boost with which to push himself, using the air platform like a springboard. Leo rocketed through the air, however, before he even had a chance to slow down, he made another platform of hardened air and pushed off of it with his hands and legs, launching himself off the platform at an odd angle with massive speed. Leo continued to bounce around his Uncle Bryce, creating a net for Bryce with his body, surrounded by a powerful nexus of personal gravity. As Leo continued to bounce, he built up massive speed and force, turning his body into a massive pinball with enough power to smash through a building. Leo did so not to show off, but to never be in the same position long enough for Bryce to lock onto him and blast him into smithereens. Finally, when he had a clear shot to Bryce's blind spot, Leo fired himself, directing all his speed and force at his Uncle Bryce, fist first. "Well, here goes... everything..." Leo thought to himself. "There's no way that this half-baked, foolish, and terribly stupid plan will ever..." Leo's thoughts were interrupted by a single notion. Thud. Leo's fist had connected. He had punched Bryce. Whoa.

Bryce Zephyr

Bryce smiled as Robin told him that flying wasn't fair and he would be coming down. "Robin that is one of the first lesions you'll all have to learn a fight with a mage is rarely if ever fair." Shortly after the ice chain dissolved into mice that scurried around. After a moment ice chains shot towards Bryce from the mice. He couldn't help but be impressed. 'The chains are moving where it'd be very difficult to dodge all of them unless you did something silly like. Drop to the ground.' Bryce quickly dropped his height when he felt a burst of energy from the side. Expecting Robin to be there Bryce spun readying a blast of wind to knock him away he was welcomed by a blank view. Then suddenly Leo was bouncing around him on air platforms. As he moved to intercept the intrusion he felt something was off. Gravity seemed to be fighting him as he tried spinning his scythe. Suddenly something he thought impossible in the situation happened. He felt a pressure connect with his mid back. Leo was there with a look Bryce had never seen on his face before. A look that reminded him of. "Zach what are you doing interrupting my fight again!" Bryce focused a massive surge of energy into the blade of his scythe as he spun swinging the blade at what he saw as Zach. "Wind Force!" Bryce practically screamed as the flat of the blade connected with Leo's chest unleashing a whirlwind into his chest sending him flying at near supersonic speed towards the forest. A blast that would surely land him in the Old Forest where he'd grown up.

Bryce took a calming breath as he refocused to Robin. "Well now that that's taken care of we can get back to business." Bryce slung his scythe onto his back where it rested. Flying forward Bryce formed small tornadoes around his arms. He landed a short distance in front of Robin taking up a fighting stance taught to him by Aeyla. "Now we can really play." He smiled one of his devilish smiles before closing in towards the young mage as he formed a box of hardened air around the pair closing them in and cutting the mice/chains off from further assisting the battle.

Ceil Liadon

Ceil noted as his seeds dug down around the battlefield. 'They'll be ready soon... My best bet will be the snares try to trip Mrs.Zephyr up.' Directing his power into the ground he fed his magic to the seeds growing them into strong snares that would lay low over the top of the ground catching anyone that isn't him. As they grew he dashed over towards Lilly trying to direct her towards the growing snares as he grew his blade into a long whip. "Vine whip." He brought the whip swinging as fast as he could towards Lilly's mid section the hardest place for her to doge even though he doubted it'd have any chance of connecting.

"I... Dear me, I can't believe it. My sorrows are with you."

her sympathy was quite welcome. Her words were few but surprisingly effective. Not because of the words themselves but the situation in which they were called for. Martin had no one to share his problems with, no one to talk to about the burdens he is plagued by. Sharing his woes about his demon to someone else was of great relief, even if he didn't really know it. The fact she listened and honestly cared warmed his heart.

She gave him a weird look when he had asked to learn more about her. Was there something unusual about what I asked?
He wondered. "Well... To be honest, it's all weird." She laughed, sounding a little unnatural considering there was little humor in what she said, unless perhaps what she was about to say would tie it all up and make sense of it. "I feel as if
I really shouldn't be here. As if I'm the one who they invited, just to watch and see if I can hold up... I don't know, really, it just doesn't feel right. I believe I should be at home, where I belong, but here I stand."

That was somewhat funny to Martin, though the laughter on Oralee's part still seemed a bit off. That was almost exactly how he felt about being here. Seeing the capabilities of even the other students around him made his already glaring overall weakness all the more clear. These people were training to become warriors of magic, Martin couldn't even heal someone without potentially incurring severe damage. His real ability was to help others by healing people who need their health more than he does. What could I possibly offer to these people which they do not already have? He often asked himself from time to time during his enrollment into the Magical Arts Club.

"I know how you feel. Let me let you know though, if I have any chance at all of succeeding here, you'll hold up very well."
He reassured her, wondering if she could even hear him as she seemed to be trailing off into her own mind.

"And what do you think of it? Our teachers seem to enjoy it, our classmates seem to have their fun... At least I know I certainly don't." She asked, looking straight up at him as though snapping back into reality.

"To be honest? I'm not looking forward to it. I've got the effective jogging pace of a koala and I've never thrown a punch in my life. I've been punched before plenty but I've never even thought about hurting anyone before. I'm not sure I could." His voice was exceptionally low as he leaned in close, making sure the rest of what he had to say was privy to Oralee and himself alone. He really didn't want the other students or worse, the teacher, to hear.

"I actually didn't want to challenge the teacher in the first place. I just happened to have my hand up at the wrong time
as usual." With that said he leaned back, his volume returning to it's normal semi-quiet self. "It's just as you said now though.
But here I stand." He quoted Oralee's earlier statement, reusing the phrase to convey a nearly identical meaning, only applied to his circumstance instead of hers.

It just so happened the position he was standing in relative to his facing towards Oralee gave him a distant view of the edge of the schools roof top. He could just barely make out a figure above the foliage. Is that guy flying over the roof? He wondered, squinting as he tried to distinguish the faint details better. At this point it looked clearer that the figure was falling, not flying. "Hey, that guy over there just fell off the roof." Martin mentioned out loud. His thoughts sometimes came out of his mouth whenever he didn't pay enough attention to himself. I wonder if that guys gonna be okay? He wondered, continuing to watch the figure descend into the forest which they were currently all in.

Leo was, presently, unsure of where he was. He was no longer above the school, and he was most certainly no longer on the grounds themselves, and yet, part of him knew this place. Leo was sitting up, his back against a large boulder, taking in a gorgeous view of an old, dense forest. Though he appeared to be sitting in the middle of a clearing, the forest itself was more than just impressive. It was magnificent. Ancient trees, thicker than school buses, reached their twisted, thick limbs to the sky, as if to grab the very sun in their hand-like branches. Thick, roiling brambles, covered the ground like a rolling sea, deep and dark, yet full of a wild energy. Wildflowers grew, here and there, spread out over the whole of the clearing, they weren't very numerous by any means, but what few there were, were strong and vibrant, shedding brilliant warm colored light from their massive petals. Leo sighed with appreciation. It was beautiful. As amazing as this vista was, where was it? How did Leo get here? Slowly, and lethargically, his brain began to work, as if Leo had never asked it to remember anything for him before. Leo rubbed his head. There was a painful lump on the back of his noggin. It smarted when he touched it.

Starting from the beginning. Leo recounted all he knew about his situation. Leo had been up on the rooftop. He'd accidentally volunteered to fight with his Uncle Bryce, and had followed the others to the roof. That explained why Leo wanted to be back up on the roof, but try as he might he couldn't recall why. Was it to finish his fight? No, he'd technically already won the little contest. Was it to brag? No, that would be rude and stupid. Then why? Leo gave up thinking about it, his chest hurt. He couldn't quite sit up, and breathing was becoming difficult, he rubbed his sides, gingerly feeling his bruised ribs. Nothing was broken, so far so good. Slowly, Leo took a deep breath, and started again. He was fighting his Uncle Bryce... no. Leo had been... watching. Someone else was fighting Bryce... But then why did Bryce hit him? Wait... Uncle Bryce hit him? Auntie Lilly must be worried sick, no doubt she was looking for him even know, but why? What had Leo done to deserve being hit? And that still didn't explain why he was in the forest. Leo tried again, piecing it all together at an agonizing slow rate. He had been watching one of his classmates fight his Uncle, it was Robin, the Ice Mage. Robin was actually doing rather well, but that wasn't the point... Leo was planning something sneaky. He'd used Robin's battle as a distraction. That was it! He'd waited until Uncle Bryce wouldn't be able to counter him, but he did. Leo had hit his Uncle, and his Uncle had hit him back. That much was certain, but his Uncle had become enraged after Leo hit him, blasting him much too harshly for a simple student. Was it because Leo had hit him? Or maybe it wasn't something else... Bryce had called him... "Zac..." Leo whispered aloud, barely enough to hear himself say it. "Uncle Bryce called me my father's name... why?" Leo asked aloud, to no one in particular. That's when it happened. Someone answered him.

"My guess? I'm assuming it's because you're my kid, eh? I mean, wimpy aura and sad little frown aside, we're actually pretty similar" said a voice, it came from above Leo, as if the owner of the voice were sitting on the rock Leo was resting against. "After all, we were best friends, Bryce and I. Our battles were the stuff of legend. My guess is, your magic felt a little like mine, and it made him remember. After all, it's been quite a while." Slowly, carefully, Leo stood. He turned around to face the voice sitting on that rock in the middle of the clearing.

He was a younger man. Not older than 40, but definitely still young enough to be right around his Uncle Bryce's age. His hair was yellow, a fantastic gold that shimmered in the dappled daylight of the forest. It stuck up in the back. Leo had the same cowlick. As Leo studied the man's face, it was as if he were staring into one of those odd circus mirrors. Though Leo saw his own face, he couldn't help but notice how sharp and lean the man before him was. His muscles were strong and dense, just like Leo's, but more developed. Leo had the man's strong chin, and large eyes. He also had the man's wide shoulders and, most importantly, Leo's magical signature was almost a complete match to the man in front of him. Were Leo not a red head, there wouldn't have been much of a difference at all. Leo unconsciously ran his hand through his hair. The man smirked at Leo, confirming his suspicion. He smirked at Leo. "You got your mum's hair, not mine. If you were blonde we'd be one in the same."

Something about that last comment made Leo frown. He took a step backwards from the man on the rock. "No." Leo said. He said it firmly. "There's no way. You've been gone... You were... You never once came to see me, not for thirteen years, and this is how we meet? You were never a part of my life, not for one second. Annie was my parent more than you ever were." Leo said, starting to get louder. "Do you think, that just because I'm at your old school you can come and pretend to be my dad?" Leo asked, furiously shouting at the man before him, who sat calmly the whole while. "I hate you! You left me, you abandoned me for what? Did you and my mom even love me? Why even have me if you weren't going to-" Leo was cut off. The man had stood from his spot, deftly strode over to Leo, and slapped him across the face. "You watch your mouth." The man said, his voice was stern, his expression emotionless. "Your mother and I loved you more than anything. We wanted nothing more than to raise you, our son, together, in a world where you wouldn't have to be like this. You wouldn't have to fight everyday just to survive. We pledged it to ourselves, and I'll be damned before I let some smart mouthed little punk insult that resolve without any response from me." Leo was speechless. He just stared at the ground, eyes burning holes in the dirt. "The only reason you're still alive right now is my doing." The man said simply. "The move Bryce hit you with could have killed a dragon. Maybe not a fully grown one, but it still should have destroyed you instantly. That's where I come in. My blood runs in your veins, magic permeates your very core, and on top of that, you've got my aptitude for fighting. Think real hard. You remember what you did." he said. So Leo did think. He forgot all his hatred for a moment and thought. He tried to remember as hard as he could what, exactly, had happened. He remembered that he punched his Uncle Bryce. After that, Bryce had slapped him with the flat of his scythe, but Leo... did something. His arms came up to protect his chest, he instinctively hardened the air between himself and Bryce, preventing the blow from outright killing him. However, that alone wouldn't have kept Leo from outright dying. Leo remembered feeling a surge of energy, his body hardened like steel, and a second barrier went up between himself an Bryce, one that Leo didn't make.

Puzzled, Leo look at the man on the boulder, his head tilted sideways. "It was me. I protected you with a barrier made out of my own energy. Sturdy enough to contain a volcanic eruption, but Bryce just blew right through it. However, just because the first his didn't kill you, it didn't mean I could relax yet. The second hit, your impact with the earth, should have killed you. So, I slowed you down. I used simple areokinesis to slow your descent and then I softened the Earth you actually landed on. Just cause I haven't been around doesn't mean I don't care for ya..." He explained to Leo. While Leo appreciated that he'd saved him, he still couldn't find it in himself to forgive the man. "This changes nothing between us." Leo said coldly. "You can't expect that a single act of parental responsibility will assuage my anger. You can't expect that it will just magically make up for all the time you missed." The man shook his head. "I never expected it to, but I can't be a part of your life if you don't want me to." Leo took a step back, then turned to face away from the man. "Damn straight. Leave me alone." Leo took a step forward, then another, and another. Leo walked away from Zac. "You can't just walk away from me! Just because you're a little mad at me doesn't mean you can hide from your father and bury your responsibilities under your hatred!" Leo turned, shouting at his father. "Watch me!"

"To be honest? I'm not looking forward to it. I've got the effective jogging pace of a koala and I've never thrown a punch in my life. I've been punched before plenty but I've never even thought about hurting anyone before. I'm not sure I could."

Oralee could not help herself, and giggled, covering her mouth with her hand. She had heard about koalas, but never seen one; Martin using the comparison seemed weird for her, and cheerful in a greater sense. She had to agree, though; she had taken more than her fair share of hits, and given out only a few. I guess that still means I have more experience than him..

"I actually didn't want to challenge the teacher in the first place. I just happened to have my hand up at the wrong time

She frowned. He had challenged the teacher? "Wha-"

"Hey, that guy over there just fell off the roof."

Oralee spun on the the ball of her foot, to be facing the rooftop of the school. Indeed, there was someone falling; Akiari chirped quietly. Unconsciously, the snowflakes started to glimmer around Oralee. "Gods... Is there anything we can do? We have to try, we have to do something!" She looked to Martin, frowning. "Maybe the teacher won't notice, if we go over there... I don't know about you, but I'm at least going to try."

"Oralee, you are certain to find yourself at home when a...'field trip' comes around."

"Akiari, shut up!" she hissed. "It's one of my few chances to do something right. I want to try, please..."

"Gods... Is there anything we can do? We have to try, we have to do something!"

We, yes, we. Martin knew exactly what this entailed. He was directly involved now whether he liked it or not. Not that he didn't want to help. He knew if he was going to be of any help to anyone today, this would be it. He was worried about leaving to go check it out though. With the teacher's black butler watching over them while she and the plant mage dueled they might cause a disturbance which would be rectified by the mysterious looking demon.

He was not looking forward to being beaten up, either physically or verbally. If he went with Oralee then the teachers would most likely scold him and punish him in some way too. If he stayed however he was looking at being the callous teacher's punching bag for some time. Either which way he looked at it, it didn't make a difference. He figured he might as well help the falling mage out, then at least someone will have had a better day than him.

His day wasn't all too bad though. He learned quite a bit about the supernatural world and met Oralee, a nice light mage like himself. He almost wondered if this kind of background she and he shared was common to most light mages or if this coincidence was exactly that, a coincidence.

"Maybe the teacher won't notice, if we go over there... I don't know about you, but I'm at least going to try."

Martin looked back at the duel. Considering how much setup the plant mage was requiring to effectively establish his spell list's synergies the duel could last a while. He estimated that the fight would probably not reach a conclusion before they returned if all went accordingly.

"Oralee, you are certain to find yourself at home when a...'field trip' comes around."

"Akiari, shut up!" She and her demon quarreled.
"It's one of my few chances to do something right. I want to try, please..."

By this point motes of light were drifting about her. Martin stepped forward, easing his weight onto his crutch while moving directly in front of Oralee. He reached past the wisps of light and, rightful permission or not, lightly placed a hand on her shoulder. "It's alright. Let's go see if he or she needs our help." His deep dark blue eyes met her ocean blue eyes. His tone was reassuring and his mouth was a friendly yet determined smile. Removing his hand from her shoulder he turned to the direction the mage was falling and proceeded to slowly limp his way towards the mage's landing site.

He figured if there were any consequences for what they were doing, he alone would accept the blame. After all, he was the one who was meant to be standing in line to duel the teacher, she was simply a spectator. Worse comes to worse he would make sure Oralee would come to no punishment, even at his own expense.

All the while his demon watched, never missing a moment of this. Every decision made by Martin would form the basis for his argument later, this instance was no exception.

♠Lilly Zephyr♠

Lilly had noticed that Leo's power had been increasing, so she eyed him, curious as to what little Leo was doing. Then the worst possible things happened. Leo actually landed a punch on Bryce! But Bryce was quick to respond with a counter, sending their nephew far off into the forest, near where her battle's were taking place.

"Bryce you idiot," she said more to herself than anything as she flew off, following the scent of Leo. It didn't take long for her to find him, along with a blonde haired male sitting on Bryce's boulder. Leo looked fine, thank the Gods, but how? With the force of that hit, it was almost like Bryce was hitting ... Zac. Lilly dropped in front of Leo who was storming away from the man on the rock. "Are you alright Leo?" Her wings dissipated and for once, Lilly looked concerned. Bryce could have killed Leo, their family.

Wait till Annie hears about this... Lilly shuddered at the thought of angry Annie.

"I'll kick your uncles ass for this later, alright? Do you want to stay with my group for now or do you want to go to the infirmary?" Lilly sighed, letting her head hang as she kneeled down. "That was to close ... Bryce is going to die."

No matter how much Lilly wanted to confront the man on the rock, she couldn't. From far away, she wasn't sure if it was Zac. They had nearly identical scents, their aura was the same but stronger ... but it had been so long. Last time she remembered seeing Zac was 13 years ago. She didn't even remember if she had run into him since then.

All she knew was that her nephew was upset, so he was priority.

THE BATTLE IN THE CLEARING

Lilly, or the one that was battling anyways, smirked at the boy. What he was planning? She had no idea and didn't care enough to try and figure it out. The seeds weren't much of a distraction, but the vine swinging right at her was. It was aiming for her midsection, a harder place to dodge. If it made contact, it would go right through her, so she should make it look like it went through on purpose.

With that thought, she covered her body in the paralyzing Shadow Fire that could kill anything it touched if not controlled right. The vine passed right through her, no problem. Then she felt the real Lilly's presence enter the forest, a ping of worry hit her. Not that it was her fault if it was discovered she was a Shadow Clone, but it would ruin the surprise. The Clone looked over at the demon OZ, who shrugged his shoulder lightly and signaled for her to continue on.

The Clone 'popped a squat' on the ground creating the illusion of entering her Shadow State by turning her eyes completely black and chanting odd poems in Latin. Shadows emerged from everywhere, joining together in front of her to create an 8 foot tall mass of shadows, writhing about as they waited for a command from the higher ranked Shadow Clone sitting behind them.

"It's alright. Let's go see if he or she needs our help."

Oralee gave a faint smile. "Let us hope that we don't get in trouble..."

If we do, I won't let him take anything. It's kind of my fault, I guess - I don't know if he would actually have done anything on his own, but I want to. Besides, I wouldn't let anyone take shit anyways, if I'm there... Even if it was their fault. I just... can't.

She started following Martin, watching Akiari jump into the sky and fly ahead. A few of the phoenix's feathers started to fall to the ground, scattering to ash before they hit the dirt. Oralee sighed sadly. She's dying. Great. Well, I guess I did need more ash for my hair...

Her focus slipped back to where she was walking, and she finally noticed that Martin was suffering from a limp. She gave an odd look, but took no more notice of it. If anything, she was barely bothered by it; who was she to judge? She had been cast out of her family for...various reasons, but that was only how she was born. Everyone's different, and I feel we forget that all too much.

"I wonder if we'll get there, before a teacher does." She did not mean to speak out loud, but once she did, she simply looked the other way. "I mean, I guess I don't want to get in trouble, that's all-"

Auntie Lilly dropped in front of Leo who was in the process of storming away from the man on the rock. "Are you alright Leo? I'll kick your uncles ass for this later, alright? Do you want to stay with my group for now or do you want to go to the infirmary? That was too close ... Bryce is going to die." As she spoke, Leo's aunt kneeled down so as to look up into his face. She was so... sad. She seemed terrified of the thought of losing him. Anger momentarily forgotten, Leo held out his hand. "Stand up Auntie Lilly, there's no reason to be so upset. I'm alive, and we're heading back to your part of the forest. Walking all the way to the infirmary seems like a hassle, and I'm ok. So why don't we just go over to where, I'm assuming a shadow clone, is having your duels." Leo smiled as he spoke, trying to cheer up his Auntie. When she stood up, Leo stepped in and hugged her for a moment. "Thanks for coming to get me Auntie Lilly." Leo said simply, looking up to smile at her. At that he turned to leave.

However, it appeared the man on the rock had other plans for Leo. He dug around in, what appeared to be a backpack of some sorts, and pulled out a package, bound in leather. Taking aim, he hurled this package at Leo, who, after a moment, caught it with the back of his head. Furious, Leo stood up, and turned towards his father, storming back towards him. "What the hell!" Leo exclaimed, grabbing his father by the collar of his shirt. "You don't just throw heavy shit like that at people! Someone could get hurt, you dumbass!" Leo shouted in his father's face. Zac could only sit, wordless, and listen. The fiery temper, the blazing red hair, all of it was just like Leo's mother. Zac smiled. "Easy now son, that's a gift for you. They're from your mom. After watching your fight with Bryce, I thought now would be the time to give them to you. After all, your hand strikes were pretty pathetic so maybe these will help you lack a punch, huh?" Zac laughed at his own bad joke, Leo only groaned. Zac continued. "I figured you'd be able to sense it coming, but maybe I was wrong. Regardless, you better watch that temper of yours, it'll get you into a real pickle someday. Anyhow, I gotta get out of here, I don't wanna be here when Lilly or Bryce sends word to Annie that I was here, or worse yet that Bryce actually hit you. She might actually kill us both..." Zac shuddered at the thought. There weren't a lot of things that scared the A Class Mage, but an ill-tempered Annie was certainly one of them. "Toodles son, maybe I'll see ya around." At that, Zac's aura began to surge. So powerful was the magic around him, that it threw Leo away from Zac, landing on his butt some three feet away from his father. "Now wait a minute! You can't just leave!" Leo shouted above the roar of Zac's powerful aura taking shape. "Who was my mother? Why won't anyone tell me?" Leo shouted. If Zac heard him, he didn't show it, only smirking at his son, before vanishing in a flash of white light. When the light faded, Zac was gone. "No... No, NO!" Leo shouted, running up to the rock his father had sat on. "Come back here! I still don't know anything! You can't just leave!"

Furious, and beyond consoling, Leo's own power began to surge, however, unlike his father before him, Leo's power wasn't concentrated on anything, it was just building for no reason other than that Leo was furious. So great was Leo's anger, that gravity began to distort around him. So powerful were these fluctuations, that the earth began to crack, large sections of rock were torn from the ground, and hurled in random directions. Bryce's boulder was hefted from the ground, and hurled some sixty feet away into a tree. Even the sunlight near Leo wasn't above his rage. The powerful fluctuations in gravity distorted the light, shattering the waves and separating them into different colors. The power continued to build until Leo could contain it no more. All at once, with a roar of rage, Leo released the power. When the energy dispersed, it did the only thing Leo knew how to do, mess with gravity. So, within a thirty foot radius of himself, gravity became massively increased, just for a second. Within that moment, as if a massive fist had struck the ground where Leo was standing, a massive crater came into being, some thirty feet deep affecting everything but Leo. Spent, Leo collapsed in the center of the crater, exhausted. As he lay there, the package that Zac had thrown at him, which lay just outside the radius of his fury, fell off the ledge and rolled down to where Leo was. As it fell, the leather that bound it became undone, and two shiny steel gauntlets came to rest at Leo's side. They were crimson and silver. Inside the left gauntlet was a little paper note, which read, "For you, my darling son. Hopefully these will protect you from a world which is far more dangerous than I hope you will ever have to know. Be safe, my precious boy, and know that you are loved. ~Mom"
