Rishon: Vow

Rishon: Vow

0 INK

As his last vow against the Creator, Asri'yel claimed that his seed, monsters born from him forcing himself upon the Great Mother Abaranne, would bring about the undoing of all creation, forged of the darkest aspects of them. His seed, the Nephilim.

Introduction

Summarized History

In the first age there the Rishon, embodiments of the creator's will, three in total:

Yawn, the Body
Asri'yel, the Mind
Hazarmaveth, the Heart

Though perfect representations, existence was still but a blank void. And so a world and universe was created by taking Aether from each one of the Rishon, Yawn gave mass, Asri'yel gave form, and Hazarmaveth gave motion and life. They marveled upon it, from them beauty was forged, but the creator was unsatisfied. Thus a Rishon of this world was created, from traits of all creation, a new form of life not of energy but of flesh. She was a creature with hair long and flowing like clouds, skin and fur black and shimmering like the starry night sky, eyes bright like the sun and moon, and face smooth and white with a means of physical expression. Unlike the other Rishon she was completely autonomous. Yawn was humored, Hazarmaveth was intrigued, Asri'yel was displeased.

The second age, the age of races:

The new Rishon grew lonesome, for she had no other like her of the flesh that speak and feel as she feels. And from her flesh was formed from the aspects of her five races and she was happy, and she was named as Abaranne, the Great Mother. Asri'yel grew very displeased. To him, such beings were less than the Rishon, imperfect and pointless. What was once a thing of beauty now marred by creatures of limited growth and potential. He plotted to show the Creator his mistake, sowing dissension in the races, making them want more of the mother, to try to earn her favor. Rivalry lead to conflict, and conflict lead to violence. Abaranne grew distraught and weak from trying to make peace among them. And there in her weakness he took advantage, forcing himself upon her, and from their union was creatures of both the purest flesh, and the purest aether, the Nephilim.

For the harm he had caused, and in showing no remorse for his acts of vandalism, Asri'yel was banished, sealed away in an astral tomb, making the vow that his seed, the Nephilim, steeped in the darkness of creation will rise to undo this mistake, by purging it all in glorious light. Abaranne, unable to kill what she had given birth to, she encased the Nephilim in crystal and scattered them about, where they may dream forever without causing harm or being harmed. She then punished herself for doing this, sealing herself deep in the earth so she may no more see her children.

Modern Age:

Racial tensions still exist but the ability to cooperate has long been achieved, everything looks to be improving as the world is growing more unified. This is until the sightings of great beasts, larger than any behemoth, and stronger too, in their wake is destruction, and always selective on where they strike as if highly strategic yet no signs of any unified goals.

World powers have made efforts to counter these monsters, increased recruitment and specialized training have taken priority over politics. The situation has grown too critical to be stuck debating it, action is to be made.

Mordania, a country based around racial unity and equivalent rights are calling in anyone to assist the Black Knights in a counter-force against these powerful monstrosities. The knights act as guardians of the people instead of the crown that are trained under King Mordaine VI, a passionate and charismatic man who considers the well-being of his people to be top priority. Fear and hysteria is taking hold and he is struggling to maintain any control on the situation.

Why are they attacking now? Is there more to this than what is being let on?

Regardless, it is time to stop them so Asri'yel's vow never comes true...

Toggle Rules

First and foremost, overpowered characters and godmodding are not tolerated.

Second, something to remember: For each major choice there is a consequence, for better or worse, and will be decided in good time. As part of the roleplay it will not be always so readily obvious but promise it won't be too contrived. "Wait, does that imply there is a morality aspect?" Pretty much.

Third, this should be obvious, this is not a storage ground for a character, if you plan to be inactive and never sign back in then this is not the place for you. Some activity and attention is required, some length of posting is required. I'm not rigid but I'm not going to hold back if a user decides to just submit a character and then disappear from existence. Just be sure you have enough attention and time for this, I ask just that.

Fourth, this is a modern setting, this means modern houses and conveniences... like microwave ovens for your burrito loving needs. Be this as it may, this is also a magical setting, magic is common and it too plays a part in technology, particularly sensing and fighting. Weapons are designed with channeling in mind, standard issue Spellbreakers, semi-auto resembling handguns (size of a Dessert Eagle if you need scale) with aether tubes (aetherically charged shells) are used by magic users to combine with their own magic to perform something stronger. As said, standard-issue, other models exist that resemble other weapons and are more military-grade. Using these weapons helps to reduce aether-fatigue. Aether is part of you, your life-force, it wears you out on extensive use and is linked to your health. Remember this.

Lastly, though I'm not too concerned with races as long as they aren't something ridiculously Mary Jane like "16-year-old Vampire Demon Daughter of the Devil" or some generic cardboard animu trope then I'm fine. I do have races though in this universe:

Gar'agh: Desert-dwelling fire elemental beast-like people resembling something akin to a mix between hyenas and cats. They are strong, proud, and a large mane meant something until they turned into a collective council of tribes centralized around a behemoth matriarch, Encindja. They engage in trade and work through tribal specializations, such as that some are better at farming or others are better at bearing soldiers, etc. The most prestigious rank among them is the Phoenix, special soldiers and peace-keepers who have went through the Trial of Fire by Encindja herself. They are few and proud, few because failure often means the candidate died rather than were rejected. Phoenixes are excelled in the flame, honed and have become resistant to it. Strength is a admirable trait amongst them, but strength of body is not the only thing recognized here.

Lylanges: Human-faced, parkouring, deep thinking, long-lecked, long-bodied, strange cat-like humanoids. They excel in metaphysics, the spiritual, healing, empathetic, and an art of fighting that is hard to achieve for any other race due to their unique physiology. This involves their immense flexibility and use of the environment to avoid attacks and striking back rhythmically, parrying and counter-attacking more than direct aggression. Normally they are nonviolent, however, and believe in a "spiritual kinship" with all other races, much lacking more biased opinions of other races. Religion and otherwise culture reflects this train of thought, they will often work with others, run therapeutic spas, engage in psychotherapy, doctors, chiropractors, etc. Of course, knowing the weak spots combines well for them in becoming magical warriors as well...

Behemoths/Ziz: Magical powerhouses, they are big, strong, and mostly monsterous, of course some can look almost human or like other races... almost, except for getting big part. Unlike most races they mostly only master one element their entire life but that one element is a literal extension of their very being, they excel any normal mage/wizard/etc. They have no centralized culture, existing as wanderers and loners, rarely staying long in one place. A history of violence, people taking their homes and killing their people have left them scattered and paranoid. As opposed to their brute-like monsterous forms looks they are intellectuals, philosophers, truth-seekers, having a liking to honesty and intriguing personalities. Behemoths are land-based and Ziz are air-based, think air-based in lieu of wyverns and etc.

Muds: Non-magical beings who could easily be compared to goblins in typical fantasy, they live in small groups, travel from place-to-place, and have a hard time finding work due to their racial inability to use magic. They are short, rarely getting taller than 4ft, may or may not have ratty tails, and may or may not resemble humans given their radical gene pool and tendency to mutate when they are born. Psychological problems can easily develop in this race, as can fast-learning prodigies. High achievements in Aehertech development have some thanks to such special Muds. Regardless, their race is mostly treated as nuisances and vagrants.

Humans: Multiple cultures, multiple societies, etc, these are a familiar race and jacks of many trades. Some are racist, some are not... etc, while most races are varied, they are extremely varied. While it takes little imagination to get a grasp on this race there is the Kaymbdenites who are gray-skinned, white-haired, goggles-wearing molemen with little-to-no magical ability excelling greater in technology and genetic sciences and having a greater-than-normal resilience against both magic and hand-to-hand and general physical strength to compensate for lack of magical talent. Their home country, Kaymbden is surrounded in a large wall with immense gates with a socialist government where everyone works, even their leaders towards the survival of the people, even if it means to die working. Some Kaymbdenites manage to escape and become refugees, and work towards more personal safety, or global concerns.

Mordania

Mordania by MartinVole

A decent country that supports racial equality and by the officials at least this is true. However, further from the reach of the crown crimes persist and racial tensions are still a problem in these areas. The inclusion of the Nephilim didn't help.

Stulhelm

Stulhelm by MartinVole

The capital city of Mordania and home of the royal throne.

Hoffenheim

Hoffenheim by MartinVole

The former capital of the country before monarchy was achieved, this city is now too distant to be properly maintained giving rise to crime and insufficient maintenance. Of course, it is a great nesting ground too. Erm...

Ewige-Nachtwald

Ewige-Nachtwald by MartinVole

Despite modern achievements, a good portion of the country is still covered in dense dark woods, either because it is costly to cut through, preservation activists, or superstition...

It is the night of the king's public service announcement regarding the recent "accidents" involving the strange creatures. People from all over gathered to watch and the media having cameras and reporters blinding him with their lights and camera flashes. He looks tense, dark rings around his gray eyes and his black hair and goatee marred with a few streaks of white, at times adjusting the collar of his dark blue suit, he's worried. He is looking over papers and fidgeting with the microphone, getting ready to choose his delivery then stands straight, takes a breath, and begins his speech.

"People of Mordania, my people, my brethren, I know..." He tries to speak with as much a strong and reassuring tone as he can, but pauses to clears his throat. "I know that some of you are worried, afraid of some prophecy from a time long ago, that these creatures may be the Nephilim, but I can assure you, the situation is being dealt with."

"Dealt with?" A voice cries out from the crowd, it is a reporter, one from a channel notorious for heavily criticizing Mordania's officials. "There are over forty dead, more wounded, bodies barely recognizable except through a long and thorough aether print, how do you plan to deal with this?"

"By upping vigilance through our trusted men in black, because of them it was just that many and not hundred or thousands."

"But why don't you make the call we are all waiting to hear, to hunt down these creatures and make sure there are no future incidents, you know, like a responsible leader." The reporter says, without subtlety in his tone. "After all, if they are Nephilim, then doomsday is around the corner."

"And begin another age of slayers... Hasn't history taught you anything at all?" Mordaine seems agitated, slamming his hand down on the podium. "This nation was founded on the principle that all people, regardless of race, deserve a chance, or are you suggesting we should also restart the hunts on our bigger-than-life brothers?"

"I'm not suggesting anything of the sort, what happened to the behemoth races was a mistake, but they didn't attack us first, these things did."

"Regardless..." He says, straightening his collar shifting his attention from the reporter. "There are reports from all around that sighting have occurred, the dark forest should be considered unsafe and be weary of wandering Hoffenheim at a night like this. And if anyone sees anything strange, anything at all, report it to your local station immediately."

A man walks up next to the king, clad in sturdy yet flexible white and red armor, a helmet covering his head and a glowing visor obscuring his eyes, he looks somewhere between a paladin and a cop, armed with an aethertech blade sheathed at his hip. Tthe crowd hisses and boos the man but Mordaine waves them to calm. It was an Enforcer from the neighboring country of Elsland, a Kritarchy, or government of law run by judges. They are notorious for their strict laws and harsh methods of dealing with disputes. In the past Elsland and Mordania had several violent conflicts up until peace was made between Mordaine III and the High Judge and have worked together since.

"Our Elsland brothers have offered some of their men in order to help us, and have agreed to handle things under the Mordanian way." He says presenting the man. "Do show them respect, we may have had our differences but more than once they've assisted us even when they had no reason to, after all, their only crime is in being passionate."

Mordaine chuckles patting the man on the shoulder who fails to react in any way causing the king to awkwardly back off and the enforcer walks off from the stage.

"So do not worry, we will handle this in the best way we can... remember, be careful at night and stay away from the forest, that is all for now." He says, finality in his voice. "Keep safe, and keep each other safe."

King Mordaine waves at everyone then walks into his castle-made-mansion. Reporters hounding him the entire way to his door before being escorted away by authorities. The crowd begins to disperse and many head home but there is still a high level of tension and uncertainty in the air.

"You vile creature! I will stop you from destroying this city!" A man cladded in a white uniform, with a cape and mask which resembled a superhero, was yelling at a creature which looked like a giant prey-mantis, "You shall never beat me super good guy! I evil buggy will defeat you!" The creature hissed at him as they both got into a fighting stance.

As soon as they charged at eachother the screen suddenly switched to the emergency broadcast channel which earned a annoyed groan from the fire behemoth watching the TV. He was about to watch the season finale to his favorite action cartoon and it was just stopped just like that. He sunk further into the couch he was laying on just as an image came onto the screen, it was a special announcement by the king who was talking about accidents and possible Nephilim.

Frankly the fire behemoth didint much care for the Kings anoucment, all he wanted was to watch some TV and enjoy some food while he was at it, but now that his show got interrupted he was forced to listen to the Kings speech until the end. As the king ended his speech followed by the reporters still trying to get more answers out of him, the screen turned back to his show, or more precisely it showed the end credits scene which earned him to groan in annoyance.

There was no other good shows for the night and it would take until tommorow for the episode to be aired again due to the service anoucment. He reached his arm to a machine which was on the ground in front of the TV and turned it on, after a few seconds of booting he opened the machine and grabbed a case next to it which was called Duty Of Captains(DOC) and placed the disk in the machine and closed it.

After he had done all of this he grabbed a controler at the base of his couch and picked it up, he then began to play one of his favorite games since he was sure it wouldn't be interrupted by a public service anoucment if they even did another one for the night, "Alright Ragnos...time to wreck some people then go to bed and go to work in the morning." His hands were pretty big for ordinary controllers but the controler he had in his hands are customers made for people with giant hands such as his.

Gordon stood in the crowed as the king gave his speech bored through most of the opening of it. He had came more because he felt obligated to than really wanting to, he would much rather be back at his house... office reading the new book he found. When Nephilim where mentioned though that caught his attention, quickly opening his notebook to an empty page he started recording the conversation and his own thoughts. At the same time he tried to make it through the crowed, he had to talk to the king. Paying more attention to this book than where the king was he didn't notice the man that had came on stage but he heard people's reactions. He knew why people didn't like the man but he just didn't get why it mattered they where helping.

Once the speech was over Gordon tried to get to the king yelling "I have to talk to you about the Nephilim!" but the king was quickly rushed into his mansion. He sighed "Guess it's time to go home then, maybe I'll try calling him tomorrow." Stuffing his notebook into his pack he shoved his hands into his pockets and walked back to the office that he called home. "Home sweet home, I guess." he murmured to himself as he walked through the door, taking his pack off and hanging it next to the door and pulling the notebook back out. He was on his third notebook and it looked like all the others, pages sticking out, tape all over it keeping it together, tattered, and he was running out of pages in it. He sat down in his chair and opened the book he had been reading and the next page in his notebook.

The music softly echoed against the dim twinkling crystals of the chandeliers that hung above the giant grand piano. There was a rather romantic empty atmosphere as most of the patrons had gone out to see the verdict of his majesty's speech in regards to the new species that had landed on their fair lands. A light static of sound fizzled as the bored bar tender stared at the mirage of images on the television screen.

The clink of ice made him turn to one of his few customers. Seated closest to him was a female; she could have been called human if it were not for her fur lined paws and feline ears atop her head, sensitive to every bit of noise. She was looking at him.

β€œAnother Moscow Mule please,”her eyes twinkled with youthful giddiness. The bar tender nodded and turned towards his stock of alcohol on the shelves.

Crossing her legs, the feline female could feel her tail loosely swaying back in forth. Her hands on her cheek and her loose fitting dress hinting at cleavage. Anyone that watched her could tell that she was happy, and why would she not be? Sure there was the whole violent invasion of the unknown species but for anyone that knew her, she was a business woman, a Jack-of-All-trades type of business woman.

The recent announcement that finished on the television screen would have worked both ways. If the king had decided to fight off the invaders then she would have sold them the weapons, but since he refuses to take action she could find business with those who did want to fight. The difference would be that she found the mind heightening exhilaration of her job as she once again would smuggle out the weapons. She had a good many contacts that would benefit greatly from the deals done.

The bartender placed the drink in front of her. It reflected the sparkle in her eyes with the large uneven lumps of ice and the thick slice of lime that floated half way within the glass making it glow with a gold-like essence.

Ardenia was hardly inhumane in to encouraging the people to rise up and fight as well as hunt the strange intruders, mostly she looked out for herself and those that followed her. A few of her little men had been lost to this lack of action by their king and it was honestly going to become worse as more time passed all she was doing was giving the people some way of working themselves out, defending themselves.

Her glass was half empty when she felt a relaxing vibration around her leg. Her fuzzy grey tail wrapped around the device in her pocket flicking the ringing phone into her slender claws. β€œVergan how's it going,” she stood up from her seat sliding some bills on to the counter.

Preparations were complete. Naturally any of the weapons she sells, she ensures that none of the evidence would lead back to her. She was being bold and cautious at the same time. Jail time was not something she wanted to spend business high time hours or cash in. Pressing the red button on her phone she disconnected the line, making her way out of the door to find a cool draft against her face. A purr escaped the thins of her pink dabbed lips.

β€œWhat a beautiful night.”

For the most part the streets are unusually barren, the majority of activity is of black knight patrols, now on alert, switching shifts on regular intervals, watching for any activity. Some are on edge, looking around and overly alert. It is no wonder that a few would feel unnerved, it has been several years since an alert took place, the last being the mysterious murders and sightings of monstrosities.

The silence would extend on longer if it was not broken by panicked footsteps and yelling, citizens are stirred as a ragged looking man runs through their yards and down the street, black knights already chasing him down, jumping and carefully holding the man down trying to calm him. The man is hysterical at first, babbling nonsense, out of breath and pale as a sheet. They take him out of the road and sit him on the sidewalk.

"Sir, we are trying to help you." One of them says. "So slow down and take a breath."

"I-it... got him... in the dark... the dark woods... were like vines... it got him." He stammers, trying to collect his thoughts into something vaguely coherent. "C-couldn't survive... no way to survive that... dead... he's dead..."

"Something killed your friend? An animal?" A knight asks. "What were you doing in the woods?"

The man is frozen, shaking his head and babbling again, seemingly extremely nauseous. The black knights seeing blood running down from various cuts on his body, their eyes widen as they check him over, seeing cuts that spell something out on his back: monster. Seeing this they ask no further questions, telling him he will be alright and have him rushed to the nearest medical facility.

Not long after this does does news of this spread around, online and stapled to light posts, all tagged with the symbol and name of "Black Rabbit". Black Rabbit is a recent anonymous among conspiracy theorists who's only proof of existence thus far is through various postings regarding strange occurrences, and more recently by posting pictures and details on what people assume to be nephilim attacks. The only personal information that Black Rabbit has ever released is that they are a Sagittarius.

The fire behemoth was fast asleep on his couch with one of his hands on his chest and the other on the ground with controller still gripped. After he had finished his play session he didint have the energy to get up from the couch and ended up sleeping on it instead. He was peacefully sleeping with some snores inbetween the silence, that was until a alarm he had set the day before began blaring loud enough to be heard from his bedroom.

He woke up and slid of the couch onto the ground before dragging himself to his bedroom, he wished they had invested some remote to shut of an alarm clock from wherever you were in the house, but no they instead released a new verson of the same phone that is smaller than the previous one. As he was rambling on in his head he finally dragged his body from the living room to his bedroom before pushing the button on the alarm to shut it off and silence quickly filled his house.

After his loud ordeal he slowly got back on his...lower body and slowly lumbered back to the living room to get to his front door and head off to work. As he got outside the sun blinded him for a few seconds since he was looped up for a few days in his house, then after his few seconds passed his vision returned to normal. The first thing that caught his eye was the streetlamp position rigged in front of his house and on it was some poster with a weird symbol and the words 'Black Rabbit' written on it. He just ignored it as something that someone's child would do and began to head off for his work place, and even if it was something that looked important he couldent waste time since he had to get to work early so he can get prep work done.

Gordon closed his book having finished it and looked at the clock on his desk, "Guess I pulled another accidental all nighter." he said to himself as he stood up stretching. It was normal for him to go days or even weeks without sleep if he got interested in something. After getting dressed he turned his computer and went to one of his favorite sites, seeing a post from Black Rabbit about last night's accident. He quickly took down a few notes about it before quickly closing the page as his boss walked in to talk to him for a little bit before his partner and friend came in.

"Did you hear that they believe those giant monsters that keep attacking people may be Nephilim?" Gordon asked his friend excitedly as he sat down, his friend shaking his head. "Your obsession with those creatures are going to get you killed Gordon." his friend sighed.

What were they expecting to happen? The female patter her wet hair as she thought back to the news. Were they actually expecting these new creatures to sit back like pebbles? It was almost funny how careless some people were towards a new species-nothing but invasive. She landed herself on the black leather couch, slinging her towel across the arm of the chair.

Her paw reached out on to the coffee table where she retrieved a small nail filer and began to get rid of the extra kinks and nicks in her claws. Her television in front of her flickered on, her eyes narrowed allowing the call to be accessed through the screen. A black silhouette appeared with a call timer at the bottom. β€œYes Vergan dear,” she purred almost sarcastically.

β€œLast night's news was not the only report of the assumed nephilim attack. It seems Zagura and a few of the other men have disappeared after they delivered the cache yesterday. I haven't been able to get in contact with any of them,”she shook her head at the news a frown already replacing her charming playful features, rather than a nephilim attack the first thing that half felin'es thought was that they had stolen from her. What better way to get away with free high quality weapons than to base it off an attack and then ship themselves to another area. If they thought she was that stupid then they needed a new job.

With a sigh she tossed the filer behind her. β€œWhat a pain,” she spat. β€œVergan I want you to get your men and search the outer areas, near the forest. Their probably smuggling the goods somewhere.” The silhouette nodded without hesitation which was not surprising. The minion was a smart one and loyal. He knew what she wanted.

The screen flickered off at the snap of her claws. There would be serious teachings to be made if she really did find them alive and well in her city. They might need more prayers. Flinging her robe off she entered the next room where her wardrobe sat and her whip ready to strangle someone.

"He has a point, you know." A gruff voice says, breaking the conversation Gordon is having with his friend. "Curiosity killed the cat and all that."

A wavy brown-haired man had been listening in on their conversation. His eyes are a fierce dark-green, dark circles around his eyes like somebody who barely sleeps. He was wearing a long brown leather coat, open with a gray dress-shirt, black jeans, and combat boots, all clearly unpressed and well worn. He was ex-military turned detective, Cain is a name is is often called by. He's tougher than most men, having endured several mortal wounds and various forms of torture in his service. Where it has made him stronger, it has clearly left more than a few scars, physically and psychologically.

He stirs a cup of coffee, putting in enough sugar to make a kid go into orbit, but for him it is probably the only thing keeping him from falling dead in the floor.

"I saw you at the big event and was going to ask you some questions but..." He waves a few of Gordon's notes in his free hand. "Dirty of me, I know, but... not bad investigative instincts for a hobbyist."

He then puts the notes down next to Gordon. He then pulls out a black notebook from his pocket and thumbs through a few pages.

"Now, to show I'm a good sport, and there are things you want to know so badly... and I want to keep rookies from snooping around the scenes... ask me one question about the investigation and I'll answer it fully."

Ragnos minded his his bussness as he continued down the street to get to the restraunt he worked at. Of course being a behemoth he earned a lot of stares from the people going on their morning routine, some were curious about him and why he was walking out in the daylight without the slightest bit of fear, some looked at him in disgust in a racial hating way, and most others who had seen him a bunch of other times gave a freindly wave to him.

He was used to the curious and unfriendly stares, or more correctly didint care about it at all. He was just a large fire creature that was taller than a car, wearing armor and has a hammer hanging around his waist. The people should have been used to seeing such strange sights like this, or was it because not many of his kind lived in the capital? Whatever the case he was almost at the restraunt and was now channeling his inner strength to get through the day so he could get some food after he was finished with work.

He finally arrived in front of a medium sized building labeled 'Grill 'N Burgers' and ducked just to enter the front door. Of course the inside was tall enough for him to stand up or else he would have had a crooked back months ago, "Yo Ragnos my main cook!" A man full of enthusiasm called out, it was his boss Henry and he was the most lively person he has met. Not only is he fun and easygoing, he was also one of the few people that couldent care less who Ragnos was, all he was in his eyes was his head chef who could cook very well. The man Henry threw a white apron to Ragnos which landed on his head when he didint lift his arm to catch it, he then put it on and went in the back.

Gordon looked at the man in the doorway of his office, "How did you get those?" He asked pointing at the notes the man was waiving. He really wanted to know how the man got those notes, there was no way he could have gotten them from the notebooks in his office, unless he did it was during the speech, doubtful. Picked his pocket on his way home? But he guarded the bag he put the notebook in so closely but it had to be the only way. The man then offered to answer one question Gordon had.

Gordon sat down and opened his current notebook and started writing in it trying to decide on a question to ask. Finally he came up with one, looking up at the man he asked, "How likely is it that these creatures that have been attacking are Nephilim?"

Cain leans back and taps his fingers on the doorway calculating a response.

"There is absolutely no doubt." he says, flipping his notebook about and tapping it then looks out at the other offices. "Better question though: why aren't we a smoldering crater? Why isn't everyone here ravaged corpses?"

He chuckles to himself some, cryptically or maybe a joke that only he knows.

"I've been on the battlefield a long time, and here's the thing: they have every advantage. Power, speed, intelligence, and are damn good at killing." He looks back at Gordon, he is behaving even more strangely, tense, pupils dilated. "Then again, living as long as they do, maybe they already have so much influence that they don't need to destroy us."

He leans in closer, voice getting quieter.

"Maybe we've lived with them without knowing all this time and haven't noticed." He looks to the notes. "Afterall, concealing form is an ability they possess."

He stands up straight, straightens his collar and regains composure.

"But... that is only a theory people have." He starts to turn around then holds up his hand. "One more thing, you should check the victims in the 'monster' murders, the creature has some rather... interesting tastes. Wife beaters, murderers, underground slave traders, and suspects of other... crude... misconducts with women, some we didn't even know about."

He starts heading out, putting his hat on that he had hung on the knob of the door then something chimes in his pocket what sounds like an odd lullaby, he pulls out his phone and reads something on it.

"How did you... you creepy little rabbit." He says under his breath looking around the offices nervously. "Well, looks like I'm on duty again, and don't do anything stupid, like getting killed."

The man begins heading off in a hurry as if he's chasing something.

Black Rabbit recently posted a summary of what Cain had said.

The restraunt was going to open soon and he had a few jobs, and all those included cooking things. Unlike the other chefs who had to use a stove to cook things, he on the other hand can cook things using his hand in mere seconds but it was not clear if it was sanitary. Whatever the case he could cook things to perfection, toast buns, and do most of the cooking.

Suddenly they heard Henry in the front, "We are now open for business!" The chefs then got to their stations as the first orders came in a few minutes afterwards, Ragnos placed slabs of meat on his hands and using some of his energy began to cook the meat in a matter of seconds before handing it to the chefs next to him to plate and assemble the burger.

Orders came flying out of the kitchen with some coming out in a minute after they had ordered, although most never knew the strange secret cook in the back they couldent care if they got their food as fast as fast food, and no one has gotten any food poisoning or has gotten sick despite the meat being cooked by a hand.

Everything was doing well in the kitchen, although his giant size made it a bit difficult for the other to get by him but a minor inconvenience was worth having a sucssesful service and getting congratulated by their boss.

Re: Rishon: Vow

Hmm.... Well, this does look promising. Would you mind if I sent in a character?

Re: Rishon: Vow

There's one... or two if I count myself. Hoping we still have everybody.

Re: Rishon: Vow

I'm still alive...at least I think I'm alive

Re: Rishon: Vow

Big question: Who is still alive since the outage?

Re: Rishon: Vow

I know, right? So rude with your messages about being under attack by monsters... now I'll never know if the evil buggy overlord was defeated! Thanks Mordaine... I never voted for you anyways.

"Kings don't get voted in."

...shut up...

Re: Rishon: Vow

Woot! Let the role play begin.

Also how could you king...you interrupted a epic moment in a cartoon.

Re: Rishon: Vow

Made the introductory post, everyone should have heard it either by radio, television, or actually were present. Maybe even interrupting a favorite TV show. Stupid public service announcements...

Re: Rishon: Vow

Alright, can't wait to see. I'll start this once everyone's set up.

Re: Rishon: Vow

Okay, cool. I'll start working on a character to add.

Re: Rishon: Vow

Some lore and tales exist of each of them, enough for somebody to do some digging. Maybe even get one to reveal their secrets if cunning.

Re: Rishon: Vow

How much is actually known about the Nephilim? Would love to create a character that is rather obsessed by any stories or anything else he could find out about them if that would be okay with you.

Re: Rishon: Vow

Feeling rather icky today but added multiple locations to Mordania. Will make a few more adjustments then set the plot in motion.

Re: Rishon: Vow

Horray! My dream of creating a fire elemental thing that eats burritos and hot pockets and is lazy enough to play games and sleep on the couch! Perfect.

Re: Rishon: Vow

It is possible, yes, some are surrounded in their element at all times but can control it so they do not to cause destruction wherever they go. Just as long as you don't make a Mary Sue who is perfect master of everything. I've had that before... the memories... the memories sear my soul!

Re: Rishon: Vow

Question: Could a behemoth look like a elemental, or would it kinda look different. I would create a being of Fire that likes to eat human fast food and is lazy, but can fight very well.

Rishon: Vow

This roleplay is a work-in-progress with a work-in-progress universe. It is a non-traditional fantasy world blending modern culture with the expansive and wild elements of the unknown. Simply put it is a world where many things can occur while blending aspects of our own modern world for relateability and ease of getting a grasp of in shorter time than having a TL;DR of every single detail of an extensive back-story to everything.

Countries are different, but have familiar concepts and problems. Kaymben for example is a communist country through necessity combining some aspects of old Russia and China, Mordania is an idealistic country where racial and religious sensitivity is highly considered and is a Federal Monarchy, while there is a crown it is also influenced by the people, sort of like modern England.

Blah blah blah, summary is that this will involve conflicts with giant monsters and defeating them is the main goal. They are strange, terrifying, intelligent and extremely powerful.
