XXThirty years have passed since the end of the Violet War, a war which desiccated the Five Kingdoms and resulted in the end of the royal Tuerie line. Now, the five remaining Great Families are in at peace. Supposedly, at least. For behind veneers of amity, the houses continue to plot one another's downfall. Through polite words and veiled threats, the most powerful families in the realm play their sadistic games against each other, breaking rules as often as they set them.
XXNow, the families engage in a far more complicated kind of war. A war of cunning calculation. XXIn the thirty year anniversary since House Tuerie was overthrown and House Laurea became the reigning house of the Five Kingdoms, the heads of the four other houses have been invited to attend the festivities being held in the capital city of Vale. During the 'get-together', the families are in more dangerous positions than ever before, as are those around them, with each and every person clawing to keep or improve their position, and some seeking to steal those positions for themselves.
XXThe Violet War may have ended, but the Battle of Wits has only just begun.
