"Fools,"
Eddie commented on the dozen men laying sprawled dead in the dirt of the Imperial Highway, their now dried lifesblood staining the ground a deep, rusty colour.
"This is what happens when men dissobey my orders and attack without my say so."
The Rouge told the gathered Ravens who accompanied him, Bjorn, as ever, stood close to his Leaders side, borad arms folded, his massive Warhammer slung across his wide back.
"Bring me the 'informant."
Eddie spoke again, as a pair of his Thugs dragged forward a scrawny, Weasel of a man, all lanky limbs and ginger hair, the Bandits threw the little man to the ground at Eddies feet, and stepped back.
The Buccaneer reguarded the little man cooly,
"Ah, Harding,"
Eddie said by way of greeting,
"The Pickpocket turned Snitch that even the Accursed Inn's Partons look down upon... Who broke your nose, Ferret?"
Harding wrung his hands wretchedly, his eyes narrowing with that spitefull hatred that only the truly mediocer could really bring to bear;
"The Barbarian!"
He replied, hissing the words through broken, bloodied teeth,
"The same Warrior who slew your men... He goes to the Blood Fang Caves, I can take you there, I can..."
Eddie held up a sleek, leather gloved hand, Harding fell silent,
"There is an Embassy full of expensive, potential hostages at Port Arn and you would have me chase one man down an Orc hole?"
The Rouge smiled, without warmth,
"Still, Mr Harding I must congratulate you, your sly dealings and self interest put almost myself to shame, allow me to reward you, stand!"
Bubbling sentiments of gratitude, Harding staggered quickly to his feet, just in time to see Eddie pull one of his large, ornate flintlock Pistols from his belt, point it at the theifs heart, and proceed to blow the contents of his chest cavity accross the road with a resounding 'Bang!' and flash of powder.
Holstering the weapon, Eddie stepped lightly over the twitching corpse and raised a hand,
"With me men, we move!"
Once more, the Red Ravens followed their leader back into the forest canopy, dissapearing between the trees as easily as fish slipping back into water.
