Full Name: Doctor Madison Lewis Lovette
Nicknames/Aliases: Maddie, Mad, Fruitcake
Age: A little over 300, was bitten at 24
Gender: Male
Species: Vampire
Team/Rank: Blue Moon
Description: While Madison is a man, and identifies himself such, itās difficult to catch him at a time where he isnāt cheerfully donning blouses and skirts over the typical jeans and ties. The vampire greatly prefers feminine attire over that appropriate for his gender, even going so far as to apply makeup and fuss over what heels to wear with which dress. Even without the aid of cosmetics, Maddie is quite the pretty boy, with soft dark hair falling to his shoulders, and even darker eyes. He has the trademark paleness of those of his species, and fangs that fall into visibility whenever he is stressed. Madison stands at about 5ā6ā.
Personality: A āglass half-fullā type of guy, Madison tends to be quite the affable and good-natured individual. Heās always willing to sit down and have polite chit-chat when thereās enough time, and is generally empathetic towards those who speak with him. His fuse is quite long, as well, meaning that it takes quite a bit for him to get riled up- and even then, he hardly, if ever, explodes. His anger tends to manifest as silent rage, and long-lasting grudges towards those who have caused the offense.
Skills: Madison possesses a fair deal of knowledge on the workings of cryptid behavior; the differences and similarities of a turned cryptid versus a born one, how age tends to affect a cryptid, the personalities of one in a group as opposed to alone...so on and so forth. Aside from his knowledge, he also has the usual vampiric swiftness and abilities, as well as a penchant for stealth. In spite of his specifically non-combat role, Madison is noted to possess a decent amount of combat related skill.
Weaknesses: Besides the usual weaknesses that comes with vampirism, Madison is a bit of a fragile fighter, relying more on quick, sudden attacks in a fight over reliance on defense. If confronted by some of the stronger types of cryptids, the researcher can very easily be overtaken if not careful.
Brief History: Born just a few years before the Tuscarora Indian conflict took place, young Madison was brought into the world as the first child of a somewhat successful blacksmith. While he had a deep fondness for what books he managed to get his hands off, and slacking off from his duties, he was groomed to take up his fatherās work once the time came- and, as such, was often set to tinker with scrap metal or assist around the shop. He made an effort to please his parents, even going so far as to try and meld his own works, but it was with the death of his younger sister that things began to change.
Madison developed a fascination with femininity. The forms of a woman, their garments, the processes they took upon themselves to maintain their beauty. His interest was not sparked by what one would have expected, but instead brought upon his own curiosity. One day, when his parents had gone out to town for the day, Madison locked himself in his room with a variety of tools; one of his sisterās old gowns, rouge and cologne from his motherās vanity, and a handheld mirror. After getting himself dressed in the ways he had studied women doing, he peered at himself and found an odd resemblance between himself and his late sister. While this was his own form of grieving, yes, it soon grew into a very strong habit.
However, while this āhobbyā of his only lingered, Madison grew into a relatively normal youth- albeit one with a bit of a gambling problem. He had a sweetheart by then, and was hoping to pursue a career in politics in favor of remaining a blacksmith for all of his lifetime. It was during this time of relative normalcy that he was bitten, and, after the initial throes of āinfancyā, Madison came to know what he had become. No longer the same man as before, he severed all ties to his past life, vanishing into obscurity. His hobby became a fulltime lifestyle, in which he perfected his imitations of the female form. Eventually, through a series of events, he came to find himself a member of a coven. This, too, was temporary, and Madison soon left to explore the world once bored.
Eventually, during his travels (in which he had pursued a fascination with the supernatural), Madison came across an organization called āSCIONā. Intrigued, he approached the group with the wealth of cryptid information he had amassed over the years, and became one of the Cryptid Behaviourists working for them. He wrote several studies on the topic of cryptids, although he faded into the shadows with SCION. Upon its rebirth, it didnāt take long for him to reappear, and to this day he still works under their command.
Other:
- Very fond of fashion, and will oftentimes make suggestions as to what would look good on his coworkers (although, admittedly, Madison will suggest to other male members that they should try on gowns more often than not).
- Enjoys the more luxurious things in life, meaning that he has a tendency to go a bit overboard in buying new furniture or outfits for himself.
