Sabre lifted his head up and almost all of his attention went from the bin to the door. He walked over to it slowly, placing the empty blood bag on the side as he went. He reached the door and reached for the handle, though he didn't turn it for fear of this person turning out like the last two. He didn't want to make a bad first impression or loose his temper.

After a while of debating the possibilities in his mind, he slowly turned the handle and opened the door. Within a second, his posture went from slouched to as straight as a door. Sabre moved his hands and placed them neatly behind his back. "Welcome to my home, Xander," he recognised her face almost instantly. He stepped to the side to allow her to enter.

"Ah, let me get that for you" he offered, walking behind her and pulling the bag off of her back (not violently). "What kind of a man would I be if I saw you were having trouble and I didn't help? An idiotic one, that's what". He held the bag carefully as he headed for the staircase, "I'll just show you your room now, shall I?" Sabre asked, but didn't even giver her a chance to answer before he spoke again. "Your room has been decorated to look just like your old room, so I do hope you like it".

When he reached the top of the stairs, he turned left and headed down the endless corridors, taking turns when necessary, until he reached an average sized door. "Here we are. I sure hope you remember your way here" he said, opening the door for her. Sabre watched her and waited for a reaction, hopefully it wouldn't be bad.

Sabre giggled childishly, lifting both hands up to clasp them around both cheeks. He brought her head forward and touched his forehead with hers. This was simply a sign of affection that he had shown to most women that lived with him. If someone was given this gesture, then Sabre trusted them. For him to have done this on a first meeting was extremely rare. Infact, he only did it so soon to Imperium.

He pulled away and smiled. "Dinner is at 7pm, don't be late. Until then you can go around and socialise with everyone. Lilith and Drake are out in the garden right now, and I have no idea where Imperium is. I'm sure you'll get along with them just fine" Sabre said in a soft tone. He turned his whole body around in one swift motion and strolled down the hallway, his shoes making a faint tapping noise as he walked. "Just make sure you have fun!" he called back at her.

Drake's eyes caught the creamy white of the animal in Lilith's arms. "Woah... what's that? A fox?" He asked amazed. He didn't recognize the animal, and was genuinely curious.

But before he could get an answer, he heard more footsteps and a timid voice. He turned and saw a girl with bright red hair. "Frick, another Vampire." He thought to himself. There couldn't be another explanation for her blood-red hair. He quickly composed himself and stepped towards her. "Hey, I'm Drake." He said, holding out his hand as he introduced himself.

He enjoyed her shake. It was pleasantly warm. "Oh, that's what that is." He thought as Xander examined the small creature. His face gained an obviously confused look. "My abilities? What do you mean?" This question had thrown him off. She was the vampire, he was the human. Not the other way around.

"Uh, I don't have any." He commented. At least none he knew about.

"Wait... dragon?" Drake said, getting more confused by the second. What did this girl have to do with his namesake? Did this mean she wasn't a vampire, and instead a dragon? Great. Now he could be dismembered, instead of just bitten.

Drake silently cringed. Awkward moments were enough to bring anyone to their knees. His mind raced to find something, anything to say. He gave a weak half-chuckle. "Well, unless you count my balisong tricks." He hoped that this would spark the conversation back to life.

He was still uncertain about this whole thing. All of these people seemed to have something off about them. Nothing he could instantly put his finger on.

The more he thought about it, the more relieved Drake was that Xander hadn't asked him about his knife. He would have to explain that butterfly knife was the translation of balisong. Then he might botch a trick and end up being less of a man. Then of course he didn't even have his knife. Sabre had taken it when he had first entered the mansion. Drake missed his knife. The usual weight wasn't there, and it made him feel empty.

Sure, it was an immature thing to get worked up over, but he had literally bled with that thing. It had been the topic of many conversations. He couldn't remember how many times he had tried to show his friends the simplest way to open it. And even the one time he had avoided a fight because of it.

With a depressed sigh, he put his earbuds back in his ears and thrust his hands in his pockets. He sulked back to the front door, but quickly turned away when he saw Xander and a newcomer. He was simply not in the mood to deal with anyone now.

Nathan was expecting many different things but who he saw in the door frame wasn't what he expected: a young woman with fiery red hair, bright green eyes and a kind smile. It was immediately obvious that she wasn't a vampire and most certainly not Mr. Fretar. He gave her a polite nod and gave her a smile in return as he pulled his hands out his pockets. When she asked if he was here to stay he nodded again, holding out his hand and introducing himself. "Nathan Creed, at your service, miss," he chimed quietly, his English accent light and cheery. That's what a lot happened at once. A horrible chill ran down Nathan's spine as the girl suddenly stepped past him. The sound of something fast approaching met his ears a split second before his body kicked in.

He turned on the spot and dug his hand inside his jacket, seeing what was rushing at him them. It was another young woman with hair even deeper red than the first girl and eyes to match. Glowing, mad eyes. It wasn't Mr. Fretar but this finally confirmed it; there was vampires here. He drew a small serrated knife from the folds of his jacket A hemorrhaging knife. It was crafted to do little more than break the few layers of the skin, totally useless on a human being otherwise a vampire. But it wasn't for the woman. He ran it across his palm, feeling a familiar sting followed by a warmth spreading down his fingers. He threw the knife side and wrapped one arm around the girl who seemed to be shielding him and pulled her aside while he threw out his now bleeding hand at the charging vampire. A torrent of crimson liquid poured out and formed a flat circle between him and the woman before a loud crack ripped through the air and the blood turned to crystal with spikes jutting out at odd angles. The edge of the circle quickly expanded inward as the border of the blood shield began turning to liquid and back to crystal and then to liquid again. In mere seconds, the front door was surrounded by a thin but sturdy shell of crystal, no gaps to slip in and spikes jutting out around. Despite the sudden violent shifting of the blood, none of the house was damage in any way, the sharp edges and sturdy walls having formed around the structure in the process. He quickly turned towards the woman who he had pulled back and asked, "Are you alright?"

Sabre was strolling calmly through the halls when it hit him. That scent, that irresistable scent. "I wonder what that could be" he mumbled, then continued to walk. Seeing as he'd just eaten, he wasn't in the mood to go chasing food down. It was then that he heard a faint voice calling his name, then some other unfamiliar noise.

"Sabre! Stop me!" it called, and that set him off. He flitted through the endless corridors until he reached the commotion. What he saw was enough to stun him so much that he could barely move. Imperium was heading for a boy he couldn't the name of. He saw the crystals arise from the ground and huffed. 'Fighting, great...'. It didn't even take him a second to grip onto Imperiums neck and fling her back. "How dare you" Sabre scolded, his face bright red with anger. "Is this your interpretation of 'be nice to the new people'? Well, I certainly hope not".

But then it hit him again. Only it was stronger this time, so he assumed the scent was coming from that boy. "Ahh, I see now".

The thirst, and the smell occupied her every move, every thought. Driven mad by the scent she didn't even realize what she was doing. If she hadn't of been thirsty, it might have been a different story. But right now she was thirsty, and she wanted his blood now. she wasn't really taking in her surroundings. It wasn't until she was gasping on the ground did she realize that she ran into something hard and jagged. She looked up to find a barrier. And she smelled more blood. She held her breath, trying not to smell it, but it was overpower her. She had never felt so helpless before, driven mad with longing. In all honesty, she didn't want to hurt this...human? Was he even a human. Either way, she had no control of her actions right now.

She felt something grab her, and then throw her to the ground. Sabre. Good, now she can't kill anybody. Through gritted teeth she hissed out a few words. "Thirsty....I need....blood." She lurched out, eyes glowing red. She needed that blood. She breathed in. No, control yourself. No matter how tasty he smells, you must fight it. "Sabre, please get me a blood bag." She said, trying to fight the urge to repeatedly ram into the barrier until it breaks. She felt terrible. All the thoughts swirling around were either fear, relief, hatred....she was a monster. And she couldn't do anything about it.

Imperium growled at Nathaniel. Literally growled. How dare he tempt her like this? Make a goblet filled with his own blood? If you thought her eyes were glowing red before, you should see them now. The only thing holding her back this time was A, her pride, and B, the fact that Sabre could probably knock her senseless. Instead she seethed with lust and growled, deciding to stay on the ground. Standing up would only make her want to lunge more. As Nathaniel shot her a glance, she locked eyes with him, entering his mind. Dump the blood on Sabre's head she thought, forcing that thought to replace Nathaniel's the look of confusion played across his eyes. Dump it on his head! She thought harder. Oh what Sabre would do to him. She smirked, pushing the thought harder, forceful this time. Normally she didn't get angry, but all her rage boiled over whenever she was thirsty. She thought over the invites the witch probably hated her, but she herself didn't really do much. She was just curious. Drake probably thought she was going to eat him. They new female probably wasn't to happy with her, and this new one, Nathaniel was probably her new enemy. She forced the thought of dumping the goblet on Sabre one last time before doing something that totally screamed against her instincts. She turned, and walked away, already catching sent of human. She needed to get her thirst under control before she actually did kill someone.

Sabre eyed Nathaniel curiously, his eyes narrowed. He snatched the goblet away with his left hand and punched his stomach forcefully with his right. "Don't you dare tempt her. If she even gets a taste of your blood, she will be drawn to it. Then you will become her food source. Get it?" his tone was stern. Before Nathaniel could answer, Sabre flitted off to the kitchen to find something suitable to feed Imperium with. He placed the goblet in the remains of the damaged bin, then snooped through the cupboards.

When finding a blood bag, he grinned and snatched it out of the cupboard. Within a second he was by Imperiums side, pressing the bag against her chest. "Please, eat before you hurt our new guest" Sabre mumbled, then turned to face Nathaniel. "Oh, I do apologise, it seems your arrival here has not gone too well. It seems that is happening quite often here" he let out a brief chuckle then continued, "It's not too bad here once you make friends with everyone. Imperium, please apologise to Nathaniel".

Imperium snatched the bag up like a starved dog. Draining the bag in seconds, she instantly felt better. Her eyes slowly started going back to normal, and she didn't feel so jittery. Sure, she still felt the impulse to lunge at Nathaniel, but at least she wasn't about ready to rip his throat out. She sighed in relief, straightening herself. She walked to Nathaniel, slowly, getting used to the scent. She was in much more control now, her pride practically shattered. She bent her head forward, a sort of a bow. She never bowed, not even to Sabre, but she felt the need to now. "I do sincerely apologize for my behavior. I don't know what came over me. If I hadn't been...thirsty, I might have acted differently. I am Imperium Mentis Swan, but you can just call me Imperium. I also offer my apologies to you, Xander," she said. She shot Sabre a glance. "I was in the wrong," she said, so quite only Sabre could hear. With one more nod to Nathaniel, she hopped into the air, grabbing hold of a balcony and swinging up onto it. She went into the door that led inside, which was her room. She sat down on the red bed. That was all that was in her room, a red bed. The walls were red, too. She lay down. She really needed to work on first impressions.

When Nathan's eyes with Imperium's, he felt the hair on the back of his neck stand and his fingers twitched as a sudden urge came over him. Dump the blood of Sabre's head. It would be funny. Make him look like a big tomato. But that wasn't funny. That was crude. Impolite. Dangerous considering the situation. The thought bubbled up again and he kept a stiff arm just to avoid tossing the contents of the goblet in his face. I don't want too. I can't. I won't. Nathan nearly gave in to the pressure he could only assume to be the woman's influence when it suddenly lifted. And that's when a sharp blow to his chest nearly knocked him off his feet.

"Don't you dare tempt her. If she even gets a taste of your blood, she will be drawn to it. Then you will become her food source. Get it?"

Sabre's words rang in his ears as he stumbled back, nearly dropping the goblet before the vampire snatched it away from him. He clutches his side as Sabre disappeared in a flash. Nothing broken. Not that he had been trying to apparently. Nothing more than a love tap with light bruising. He heard the girl from the door running up behind him and his nose was met with the smell of smoke. He looked over his shoulder and was surprised to see the girl looking absolutely livid as well as the shift in her features. A dragonite. Perhaps Mr. Fretar's letter had more truth to it than he thought. When Sabre reappeared, he couldn't help but cringe a little as the girl began to yell.

"She started it, he was just being kind and then YOU punch him? Who are you to abuse your guests? That was so inappropriate! That was not fine."

He couldn't help but smile a little as he watched her calm down. She seemed like a sweet girl and even though they were perfect strangers, they had both gone out of the way to try and protect one another. Her pout was even a little cute. Nathan held up a hand and gave her a reassuring smile as he straightened up and held a hand up. "I'm alright, honest. Besides, I deserved that. Wasn't thinking my head on straight." He looked to Sabre and listened to his apology. Goodness, this man changed mood quick. Then the woman approached and gave her apology. Nathan tried to not look tense. She must hate him. A big juicy piece of meat she wasn't allowed to bite into and he'd practically dangled it in front of her face. It may have not been the intention but he doubted this impression would fade any time soon. Before she jumped off, he gave her a meek smiles and said, "Pleasure to meet you, Miss Swan."

Sabre had ignored Xander's comment for fear of him losing his temper with her. He'd already attacked on person today, he wasn't going to do it again. Although he understood Imperium's pain completely, it must have been torture for her to not feed off of him. "This day has definatly not gone as planned" he said sadly, "Oh, and Nathan's room should be three doors down, to the left". It was then that he heard a small coughing sound, the clearing of a throat. He turned around to see Drake, and a large grin crossed his face. "Oh yeah, you must he hungry" he said, then looked at his wrist watch for about sixty seconds before looking back again. "Dinner is being served in the dining hall as we speak. Head over if you wish to".

And then Sabre was gone. He appeared outside of her door and knocked on it a few times to let her know that he was entering. He placed his hand on the door handle and turned it, opening the door and stepping inside. "Imperium, my darling, is everything alright?".

Nathan gave Sabre one careful look before he parted with the girl. Something told him that his time here would be interesting whether he liked it or not. As they approached the front door he ducked down to grab the tiny knife he had cut his palm open with, shaking off the few drops onto the ground before sliding it inside his coat for safety before looking over at the girl with a small smile. She seemed willing to listen and at the very least didn't seem likely to lunge at his throat anytime soon. Maybe he could make a friend here. As he followed her up the stairs, he said, "I couldn't help but catch Miss Swan using your name earlier. Xander, was it? Greek if I'm not mistaken." When she offered to help him with any baggage he had, he simple gave a little laugh. "I'm fine, thank you. I packed light so I didn't have to carry any luggage. Besides, it'd be rude to have you carry it for me to begin with." As they reached the top of the stairs, Nathan felt a sudden difficulty in breathing. "What...?" He stumbled as a sudden pain clawed into his chest, catching himself on the nearby railing. He clutched his chest with one hand as he began coughing violently into the other. 'Damn it. Has it gotten this far out of hand so soon...?'

The pain in Nathan's chest began to rise and fall as his head began to swim. He felt himself being lowered down to sit and felt Xander's arm around his waist trying to keep him stead but her words fell short as the coughing grew worse. 'Can't breathe. It's getting hard to think over the pain. I can't just pass out like this...' He let out a few more heavy heaves as he felt an uncomfortable sticky warmth spill into his hands and slip through his fingers. A few more cough and his hand was soaked red. "I must have pushed myself too much outside..." he mumbled, giving a small chuckle before coughing up more blood. After a few tense moments, his hacking began to lessen and blood stopped pouring out. The pain in his chest lessened and he began to breathe again. "I-I'm alright," he managed to say feebly as tried to give Xander something of a comforting smile.

A loud crack filled the air as the blood on his jacket, his hand and some of the drops that managed to get to the floor suddenly hardened to crystal before shattering into dust and scattering to the wind. Nathan watched this phenomena with what could only be describe as interest as he flexed the fingers of his now clean hand. His body was already beginning to try to reject the tainted blood. Most of his family didn't start getting symptoms until they were at least in their thirties. Time was getting short. He looked over at Xander and saw the look of absolute panic on her face. 'No point in getting her any more worked up than she already is. Poor girl...' "Well then," he said, wiping some blood from the corner of his mouth. "I suppose Mr. Fretar can't complain about me leaving a mess in his lovely home." He gave a feeble laugh that was interpreted by a few weak coughs. No blood, thankfully.

Nathan couldn't help but give Xander a curious little look. It was like no matter what had happened since he had arrived, she was there trying to weigh out the bad with what good she could offer. 'My own little guardian angel...' he thought as she delicately wiped some blood off his cheek. "Considering the number of times you've helped me today alone, I'd say a bit of an explanation would be fair." There was a creak of wood as somebody downstairs began walking around. This place was large but certainly not private and he's note sure how much he wanted perfects strangers to know about his condition. "But not now," he tacked on, trying not to sound rushed.

"Can you stand? I can help you if you can't."

Nathan just gave a light chuckle as he pulled himself up with the railing, raising a hand to adjust his askew glasses as he said, "I'm fine, really. I think I can get to my room without collapsing under my own weight. Besides..." He gave her a quick look over. Standing upright, he easily towered over her as she barely came up to his neck and while he wasn't particularly heavy, the layers he still wore added a lot more weight than one would think. "I wouldn't want to be any more of a burden than I have today."

"When we get you to your room, I'd like to ask you a favor. Stay in for the night. I'll bring you some food, and whatever you'd like to drink but please, take it easy."

These words struck a chord with Nathan. Without thinking about it, he realized that everything else before that she had done was knee jerk reaction. Just actions to keep up with what was going on. But maybe there was more to this girl than he first thought and as he walked slowly to his room with her, he realized that she'd been giving so much to him and he'd been able to give none it back. But maybe he could repay some of this debt. "Alright. I'll follow the nurse's instructions. I just want you to promise me that when we do start talking that I'm not the only subject," he said with a bit of tease in his voice.
