Her sense of style is something some would consider an oddity, especially for her age. Jaiden can usually be seen darker colors, anything from sweaters, jackets, hoodies, and t-shirts, to sun dresses and things on the formal end of fashion. She'll gladly wear jeans, boots, and a t shirt for the night on the town, or sweat pants and sweaters on a cold night in her house. Whatever the occasion, she will always be seen with her 8mm gages that she has in both ears. She'll also be seen with an old locket made of copper hung around her neck, no one knows what's inside of the locket and she prefers to keep it that way as she always keeps it on a tight chain around her neck.

Despite her age, Ash is one for style, commonly dressing in things that tend to either be form-fitting or free-flowing that help make her seem less small. Her skin is of a soft, light brown tone while in direct sunlight it is somewhat pale, with dark brown eyes and a set of equally dark and curly hair sits atop her head which is usually covered by a hat or hood. She has been described as childish and dainty when meeting her for the first time as she is always seen moving or doing something that requires her to move, so some say she is rather unpredictable as they never know what she is going to do next. She is also described as being energetic and can usually be seen with a smile on her face that seems to be contagious for those that manage to see her smile.

Aside from clothing, she is covered in art, not exactly covered from head to toe, but she does have her fair share of tattoos, and for those that are lucky enough to see them, as she almost always wears long sleeves or jackets, they'll have seen the plethora that covers her body. On her back from shoulder to shoulder and that reaches down to the small of her back, she has what seems to bemetalic wings that seem to be molting while the majority are completely intact. On the right side of her torso, she has ancientrunes alongside her abdomen and no one seems to be able to understand what the mean exactly aside from her. She has elemental runes outlined and tattooed on her left bicep, it is one of her most noticeable tattoos if she is not wearing a long sleeves shirt or jacket. One of her last tattoos is three phases of the moon on her right forearm, that is her most prominent and noticeable tattoos, one that she has slight regret about getting. And lastly, her final tattoo is of a single black feather that ends in a flock of birds, which is tattooed on her right collarbone and is personally one of her favorites.

Nature, first and foremost she loves and adores nature. From animals and sounds of nature itself, something about it brings a sense of peace and calmness to her | Coffee, Ash has a sweet tooth and something about the sweet and bitter mix of coffee is somewhat of a guilty pleasure as she knows it isn't exactly good for her | Horror and scary movies, she loves the feeling of the rush that horror films give her, but they have to be the classics, as the modern-day ones seem too predictable and not scary to her, if anything she finds them funny | Music, it doesn't matter what kind it is, except for country and rap, Ash will always have music playing wherever she goes as it helps her concentrate | Piano, guitar, and violin, something about those instruments to her are one of the few things she found herself spending the most time with from an early age | Art, Jaiden has a massive love for all art pieces, something about getting a peek into someone else's mind through art has always fascinated her | Photography, she can always be seen with a camera in her hand no matter where she is | Video games, she has a healthy love for video games and would gladly stay at home playing with friends if they weren't feeling well or just wanted to be lazy | Sweets, as mentioned before she has a love for anything that is sweet and contains sugar, especially cookies and cakes. If you offer her food you'll be more than likely on her good side until you manage to piss her off enough | Lumos, Nox, and Melvin, she would do anything for them and if it wasn't for her pets she doesn't know what she would do, seeing as they're the only family she's had for years by now |

D I S L I K E S
Fire, contrary to popular belief she absolutely hates fire as even simply the smell or the heat it radiates causes panic and anxiety to find its way through her therefore she hates that is what she possesses as a witch | Sour Foods, something about the taste and consistency they have always gave her a stomachache afterwards | Silence, as it causes massive waves of anxiety to rush through her | Loud or sudden noises, as they can be unpredictable anything that goes off without warning scares her more than they do to others | Cars and vehicles, she hates anything to do with cars ever since she was a child and would gladly walk through the coldest weather to get to where she needs to be than get into a car | Hurting anyone else, the last thing she wants to do is hurt anyone else ever again so as often as she can she prefers to be by herself | Herself, as mentioned prior, she doesn't like the idea of possibly hurting anyone else, which in turn has caused her to have some self hate for having hurt the people she loved in the past | Most religions, as her kind has been tortured and killed for false accusations in the past hundreds of years |

Jaiden is a bit of an oddity, to say the least. Normally she is a shy, quiet, socially awkward recluse that is constantly home as she is self-employed as a graphic designer and freelance artist that is either too busy to go outside and see her few friends that she has, or she's simply not feeling it and would rather stay in her room and work, play video games, or read some light novels in her room by herself with some soft music in the background while drinking tea or coffee. But at the same time, she can be a happy and bubbly outgoing person who wants to go out on the town and go to bars and clubs with her friends, that once she gets drunk enough she is easily a flirt with her friends when normally she is rather awkward and reserved.

Much like the element that she possesses control over she is one that is easy to piss off and be angered easily and as some of her friends have referred to her as "hot-headed", the pun intended or not is all the same to her. She can be happy and laughing with friends one second and something can be said and she can easily be upset and storms off until she calms down enough to come back and go back to having a good time with her friends. When left alone with certain people she is seen as kind and caring, as well as a good listener and shoulder to cry on from time to time, always happy to lend a listening ear from those she holds close. But even then for those, she holds close, she holds them at an arms reach and then some, never wanting to get too close to someone in case she hurts someone else again, and if she were to she could never forgive herself. Which is another reason why she feels like the odd one out in her friend group, a small voice at the back of her mind constantly telling her that they don't actually like her but find her more of a burden and sometimes even a freak, which causes her to stay at home and only really go out when her friends reach out to her first, otherwise she could continue living in her home by herself and her pets for the rest of her life.

Meanwhile, deep down she is a lost, damaged, confused, scared girl that just really needs a guiding hand to help her overcome her struggles and past traumas, as well as help overcome her self hatred and learn to let go of the past and move on. But until that day comes, if it ever does, she remains the same old Jaiden, the scared and lonely, emotionally vulnerable person that simply needs someone to be there for her and help her move passed all the bad things and learn to live life to the fullest and accept herself for who, and what she is.

Much like the rest of the Witch race, Jaiden was born with supernatural gifts and abilities that one would usually love to have and use to its greatest potential. But unlike most Witches, Jaiden despises what she was born with and wishes nothing more than to get rid of what she was what she considered cursed with. As she was born with the ability to control, create, manipulate and bend fire to her every whim. But as everyone knows fire is an incredibly unpredictable and devastating element. And as such, it is highly intuned with her emotions, specifically anger and frustrations, making her the last person that one would want to piss off as it would usually end with something, or someone catching or combusting into flames. Ash was also born with the negative of being a Witch, she is incredibly weak if exposed to silver usually resulting in a burn or rash, and on extreme exposure large lesions and red patches forming on her skin which can usually cause infections if not treated which results in fevers and having to stay in bed which is usually why she is susceptible to being sick.

| Juliet Price | Mother | 42 | Witch | Deceased |
Jaiden and her mother had been close at best and distant at worst of times, which happened to be more often than not as Jaiden was the "Black Sheep" in her family. As their relationship had been estranged and distant for years, while her passing was hard for Jaiden at first, she was able to move on from it rather easily as time had passed.

| Nathaniel Price | Father | 43 | Human | Deceased |
Jaiden and her father were much more close than her and her mother, which had caused even more of a distance in the family. Her father was the main reason why she had such a love for music growing up as he had been a well-known musician and photographer in the past in their small hometown and had made sure that both his daughters had played at least one instrument when they grew up, which caused their bond to be stronger than it otherwise would have. When he died she was broken and had taken months to almost a year to fully get over his passing, but even still then she still has hard times thinking about him and the fact that he is gone.

| Ellen "Ellie" Price | Sister | Last seen age: 25 | Human | Unknown |
Growing up the sisters had been close beside the sight age gap. They did everything together and were always with each other until they got older and grew up, but their love for video games and art and things like D&D and anything that was relatively nerdy had kept their bond close. But after the accident, their relationship was never the same after Ellen had been rushed to the hospital and refused to see her sister after that tragic event that left them parentless. All Jaiden wants is for her and her sister to reconnect and be back on good terms, but she doesn't know where her only remaining relative is and the thought of never seeing her again scares her more than anything.

H I S T O R I A
Jaiden grew up in a normal childhood, or as normal as one would be able to consider as she was raised by a mother who was a Witch, and a father who was a human. Life was good for her and her older sister, they lived as much of a privileged life as their parents could let them as they were both hard-working people and made a name for themselves as their mother was a Housing Agent and their father was a well-known photographer. They lived their lives day to day and as close as they could until Jaiden turned twelve, the day her powers were finally awakened would turn things on their head. Their mother never told Nathaniel that she wasn't human and when Jaiden started showing signs of taking after her mother, it only raised red flags. It started out small, her temperature started rising and she would constantly be warm even if she was outside when the weather was -10*. Things grew worse when things would randomly start to catch on fire or combust with no apparent reason at all, seemingly without a known cause.

It was only when it was made known that it was Jaiden causing things to catch fire or explode that things really started heading south. With her not understand what it meant and with her parents began to argue back and forth as he felt betrayed and lied to that their mother never told them the truth that Jaiden became a recluse. She turned to music and photography more than she ever did before, finding few comforts in the little things. Her relationship with her sister had actually grown with the awakening of her powers, as Ellen had found it amazing and interesting that she could create fire out of what seemed to be thin air. Things seemed to be getting better as her parents argued less, they didn't stress as much as Jaiden reassurance in her parents acceptance of what she was as her mother helped teach her how to help control and put away her abilities and hide them as well as she could.

It was when she turned eight-teen years old that things took a complete nosedive and would change her life forever. She came home from school to find her parents arguing again. Her father and mother were yelling and screaming at one another, her father yelling and screaming how he couldn't take having such a freak as a daughter, nevermind as a wife and that he wanted Jaiden and her out by that evening. Jaiden pleaded with him to listen to her and that she promised she'd never hurt anyone and that she'd never use her powers again to just make him happy. But he simply stated that he wished she wasn't his daughter and that he wanted them out. She was devastated and as she tried to hold her conflicting emotions together, a small spark caught on and spread through the house, faster and faster as her emotions slowly unraveled until the entire house had caught on. Nothing else but a blaze of fire and smoke overtook the house all too quickly as Jaiden had managed to leave the house as Ellen chased after her before the house exploded with their parents still inside the inferno. After the police and fire team made it to the scene it was entirely too late, there was no way inside and if they even did try it was useless, there was no way that not even someone as powerful as her mother would have been able to escape the blaze. It was ruled out as an accidental fire, which left the girls homeless, orphaned, and slightly injured from the explosion. Jaiden had received minor cuts and scrapes, and a fractured arm, while Ellen had received far more severe injuries which had her rushed to the hospital.

A few days had passed after the accident when Ellen had told her that she never wanted to see her again and that she should just leave. She wasn't angry or mad, but she was simply scared and didn't want anything to happen to Jaiden if the humans were to figure out what had actually happened, that it was an accident, but it didn't start like they made it seem. It tore Jaiden to pieces to leave her sister and her hometown, but she knew it was for the best and with whispers of a town filled with people like her in British Columbia, Jaiden made her way to Graythorne where she currently resides today. She lives in a small house by herself and her animals, having been able to move on from her parents' deaths and having left her sister behind to start a new, she was able to make a name for herself as a graphic designer and freelance artist and photographer. For the past few years she has been slowly rebuilding her life and trying to forget the tragedies that she had caused, but with whispers and neverending anxiety, she feels as though something is off and that something is coming, she just can't tell what..

Everything had been such a blur as everything happened so quickly before her eyes. The half-elf named Oliver had instructed Violet to help Alex if she was able to, talk to him if she could somehow reach him, wherever he was, as Phoenix had already gotten back to his feet and was already going over the man named Cas. She still didn't know how to feel about the guy, and how easy it was for him to win over Phoenix and his attention was scary to her, she hadn't seen him meet anyone ever that did that, and it unsettled her. What about this guy caused her friend to be so infatuated with him? She shook her head as they left, noticing that Alex was slowly coming to, mumbling something under his breath, it sounded like something about Violet and where she was. Now that she thought about it since she left to help Aurora, she hadn't seen her since she came back. She sighed as she looked at the others, they were a mess.

Jaiden looked over at the woman that had complimented their outfits earlier, she hadn't looked so good as Jaiden finally gave her a look over. Her face was pale, well, even paler than usual and had a sickened look on her face. " You don't look so good, you should head back home, I'll make sure to check on you tomorrow, okay?" she offered her a small smile as her attention was then taken away from the vampire to the fae. Giving Aurora a look over and her heart sank a bit, seeing her like that made her angry as well as saddened. The girl was so happy and full of life moments ago, and in seconds, she was simply a shell, asking if Jaiden is she could go with her and keep her company. She didn't blame Aurora at all, and to be honest she wasn't wanting to go home alone either. Anything could happen now that the hunters were gone and could be anywhere, splitting up would be such a terrible idea.

Jaiden gently placed her hand on the fae's shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze as she tried giving her a small and reassuring smile, "Of course. I'll stay as long as you need me to." she said softly as the two began to walk away and to the fairy's house, making small talk as they made their way. Normally she would have said they could go to her house, but it is rather far, as well as it being cold, and who knows who or what was in those woods now, avoiding them would be the safest bet. "Whatever you need, I got it covered, Rory.." Jaiden said with a small smile as she stayed close to her friend, making sure that no one of suspect or danger was around, trying to ease the panic they were both feeling, but she would be lying if she said she wasn't even the least bit scared. Jaiden was petrified and had no clue on what to do, but she was going to what she had to. And that started with making sure one of her friends were safe.

Meanwhile all of the chaos back at the fairgrounds, Markus was none the wiser when it came to what was going on with the group of friends in the alleyway. His senses were on high alert as he looked at what had caused the commotion and form in the darkened area of the forest. In the area that he looked was a rather large lake that was in a very large clearing with a field. His heart sank as memories of this lake came back to him, he remembered what happened here, and it caused some anger to stir within him. He shook his head, clearing any of those memories from his head, it was almost a decade ago, and it was too late. Too late to do anything about it, and too late to help her. He sighed as he scanned the area, seeing a trail of blood near the edge of the lake, crouching down he eyed the water's surface, something had been there as it was still calming down and rippled, sending some foam in different spots, as well as the blood that slowly appeared from its depths. He knew what transpired, one of the Hunters was lured, and was too easy of a target. Poor bastard, he thought as he studied the water closer, seeing a form lurking in one specific area of the lake. He crossed his arms and stood firm, knowing what, or who he was looking at. He had only seen her a few times, but he knew what she was, it was a rare case that they came on land, but he wasn't any less surprised, especially with Greythorne's past. "You can come out now, you're not hiding from me." he said loud enough for the figure to know they were exposed, even under the water. Markus knew that lake too well, and knew when someone was hiding in there. He was ready for a confrontation or at last a few words for the woman that laid hiding under the blue surface.

Violet had looked down and away from Alex when he began talking about the fact that he was at her funeral and how it had affected him, especially since she was closer to his age at that time. It seemed like it was so long ago, and truth me told, it was, but at the same time it felt like it was yesterday. Being in a constant limbo where time never really passes for you is a weird life, or well, in her case existance to have. She sighed and shook her head, choosing to ignore that part of what he said, she didn't like talking about it, and now wasn't the time for that.

She nodded as he finally agreed to get out of there and go back, back to where they could rejoin the others. "Thank you. I thought I'd have to pull you back myself, and I wouldn't want to do that as...well, it has bad repercussions that I'm not even sure of yet." she said rather coldly, as it was the truth. There was one thing she could have done, and it would have ended badly if she messed it up, both of their souls could have ceased to exist, and she wasn't going to let that happen, not now anyway. They slowly began to make their way back until Alex stopped walking as if something had garnered his attention. She rolled her eyes and looked back at him, a look of fear overcame her as she pulled and pushed him along as she ran behind him, "Get the fuck out of here!" she snapped, finally seeing as he tripped and fell, then was suddenly gone. A sigh of relief escaped her lips as she saw that he had returned to the other side, where he was supposed to be. But, Violet didn't go with him. She has left behind that cursed translucent veil, just shortly behind him. "Oh fuck..." she muttered as she turned around, her eyes wide as dinner plates as she saw what Alex hadn't seen, but only heard, and suddenly..There was nothing. No beast, no Alex, and no Violet. Just an empty space.

Phoenix could feel Jaiden’s gaze on him, and it wasn’t exactly happy. He’d probably get an earful from her about this at some stage. But right now, he just couldn’t stay there. He wouldn’t, couldn’t be of any help. If he stayed there any longer he felt like he was going to crumble in to pieces. And Cas needed help, as much as he was going to insist otherwise. Cas tried to insist that Phoenix stayed with his friends but Phoenix just numbly shook his head and practically dragged the man out of the alley with him, back towards his apartment.

And then suddenly Cas stopped, and wouldn’t meet Phoenix’s eyes. The words he was saying didn’t make any sense. Phoenix could feel the frustration building in his chest and could feel the tears burning behind his eyes. But he refused to abandon Cas here. There was something wrong. Cas was hurt, clearly emotionally and physically, and what he was saying didn’t match with his actions.

“Cas. Just... just stop, okay? I don’t claim to know you that well, I don’t know what you did before you got here. But everything you’ve done since you got here? Cas, you just freaking put your life in danger for some reckless idiot that ran headlong into danger for no good reason.” He said with a small grin at himself. “I’m pretty damn sure you saved all of our lives tonight. You definitely saved mine. I don’t know what put it into your head that you don’t deserve this. But for god’s sake, Cas, I just want to make sure you’re not bleeding out on me and maybe even make you tea. And also I really don’t think I’d be able to patch up my shoulder by myself,” he said with a smirk. “So just... just let me do this for you, okay?”

Phoenix found himself wondering where Cas had come from. Who he was. Why somebody so cool and composed the rest of the time somehow fell apart at the thought of someone looking after him. Was that it? Or was there something more to it?

Evelyn felt so entirely useless. The hunter was still completely out cold, so it wasn’t even like she could deal with him. One of the girls from earlier- the one in the steampunk gear- she spotted Evelyn hovering on the periphery and told her to go home, that somebody would check up on her. Evelyn wanted to help. She did. But the smell of blood was just unhinging her control and she refused to let her hunger win. So she nodded, but grabbed the hunter and started dragging him by his coat.

It wasn’t easy, he weighed significantly more than her, and his dead weight made him hard to manage. She abandoned his unconscious form in the woods. If he survived, he survived. If something found him... well, good riddance. She panted a little and straightened up, looking around her. The forest was quiet, but not the peaceful quiet that she usually loved. Nothing in town was peaceful any more. And then there was that smell again, blood. But it was... faint. Evelyn found herself stalking towards the smell, mostly to check that it wasn’t somebody who was hurt. Instead, she found herself emerging on to a lake... and finding a familiar form. She knew the smell of blood wasn’t coming from Markus, but instead from the water.

“Did somebody fall in to the lake?” She asked Markus, frowning. But a look at the water and at the clouds of red made Evelyn think of something more sinister. But Evelyn held back, watching the surface of the water with a frown. She didn’t know of anything that tended to live in lakes, but she doubted it was anything good, anything that she wanted to cross. So for once, she stayed quiet, and just watched the surface of the water. Watching. Waiting. Curious to see what or if anything would come from it.

Take it easy Alex, you're going to be okay. Those words rang in Alex's head as he opened his eyes. The sickening smell of blood and fear and cold hot chocolate filled his nose. He almost missed a glimpse of Oliver as he ran out of the alley, but he could hear what was going on perfectly fine. He slowly forced himself up into something more resembling a sitting position and looked over to Jaiden and Aurora, "You guys okay?" He so badly wanted to stand up, go home, take a shower. But his entire body felt like it was filled with lead. He sort of let himself half-fall back onto the ground, a soft grunt escaping his mouth as he did so. For the third time that night, he felt afraid, alone, and helpless. He fought back against the tears stinging his eyes. Everyone needed him to be okay, to be fine. He felt like he'd done enough, caused enough concern.

Alex sighed, and said, half to himself, "Why'd it have to be us?" Then in his head, Why did it have to be me? Realistically, he understood that hunters weren't going to corner someone they thought would- or could- effectively fight back. Not that it made him feel any better. He felt his phone vibrate and silently thanks the manufacturers of his cell phone case. He sat up, checked his phone. 15 missed calls. 647 text messages. One sender. He sighed again, this had been a nightmare. He shot a quick, disingenuous messaged back to his grandmother: he was fine. He was safe. He would be home soon. He promised.

He shook his head, right now he didn't feel like he'd ever be fine again. "Okay. We're okay. Let's just..." He was talking to himself, like he wouldn't know what to do if he didn't verbalize it. But he didn't know what to do. He knew he needed to be home. Or anywhere but here. But that just felt impossible. Everything felt impossible. He hoped he would wake up, that none of this were real, but he knew it was. "Hey, uh... Oliver?" It was a tentative call, Alex wasn't even sure he was still there, "Still there? You okay?" His voice threatened to break, he still sounded terrified, and on the verge of tears. And he was.

ImageWith her hands still wrapped closely around her body she tried to smile a Jaiden but didn't feel her mouth move at all. "Thanks Jai - just let me make sure Alex is okay" Her volume came out barely above a whisper as she glanced over to her friend still on the ground, definitely looking a little worse for wear. She walked over to him crouching down so she was eye-level with him, "hey enough worrying about everyone else okay? You need to rest. And - and don't ever do that again" Aurora knew that in that situation Alex definitely didn't have much of a choice but she hoped he'd get her point. She instinctively reached out brushing a strand of dark hair back into its place atop his head with a small sigh, realizing she should probably check on Oliver too. Aurora had practically shoved the poor elf into danger but he did what she'd asked him to.

Approaching him from behind, her eyes darted to the small - empty - booth next to him grabbing a bottle of water from it's cooler. "Oliver, thank you - I didn't mean to just shove you into the fire, it's just Alex he" She froze finding that the right words definitely weren't there and just handed the bottle of water to him. "Thank you".

Aurora returned back to Jaiden's side feeling more comfortable next to the witch. It seemed as if the hunters had returned back to the safety of the woods but she wouldn't be surprised if some were still lurking around. The walk back to her floral shop was quiet, but Rory felt like there was nothing really to be said. Aurora found herself for the first time in years locking every single lock to the front door. She normally never did, the girl felt safe in this town. Now she felt, she really wasn't sure. "I have a futon bed, and as many blankets and pillows as you could possibly wish for" Rory said the smile finally being able to reach her eyes as the comforting feeling of her home and shop eased a small bit of her worry. "It's just upstairs" gestured for Jaiden to follow as she went up the small spiral staircase in the back of the store.

Cas opened to interject Phoenix's but closed it quickly, as he realized nothing he said would change Phoenix mind. His words settled deeply with the Angel and he felt a sad pang in his heart. Phoenix was good, selfless, he cared so much about those around him - he reminded Cas so much of why he feel in love with humanity in the first place. But that's why he knew Phoenix deserved so much better. Cas came with a warning label a mile long and a death wish, it was only fair to himself and to those around him to keep everything and everyone at arms distance. It was better that way. He had to tell Phoenix, he refused to let himself string it on any farther. The thought was eating him alive. In the moment Cas promised himself he wouldn't leave the town without saying goodbye, without being honest. So after a pause he offered a weak smile, "Okay".

It wasn't long before they reached the small brick building, but when Phoenix opened the door to the cozy, warm-feeling apartment it made sense. Everything around him was very Phoenix, to the potted plants in every corner to the undeniable rich smell of coffee beans. Cas was afraid to touch anything, he didn't want to leave a stain of his presence on how seemingly perfect it all was. He couldn't remember the last time he felt so nervous, or the last time he had ever told anyone anything remotely true about who he was. It had been at least a hundred years. Cas found that it was never easy nor did it ever lead to anything good. Doubts began to cloud his mind as he didn't want to curse this town anymore than it had been. A fallen angel was a bad omen, everything about him was hypocritical - chaotic. It's why Heaven rarely ever let angels fall. Normally they snapped them out of existence when they broke the law. Angels only ever fell for a reason, to be taught a lesson. He turned back to Phoenix trying to calm his nerves, gesturing to the apartment mustering up the only thing he could think of. "I- I like it. It's very you".

After they had made sure that Alex was okay if one could even consider his current state okay. All that mattered is that he was alive, or at least functioning is all that mattered. Finally, they had made their way to the fairy's house in the small floral shop, making sure to lock the door behind them after they entered. Jaiden had let out a deep sigh as the door locked, they used to be able to know they were safe behind closed doors. Having to lock the doors behind them made her feel like a wild animal being locked in its cage. That's all that this was, a cage, and going outside made them vulnerable to any attacks. The fact they hit during even the faintest of daylight, as well as a crowded area, made her feel even more anxious and nervous about the whole thing. What had really unsettled her was how easy it was for her to use her magic, allowing herself to lose just enough control to help protect a friend. She hadn't let herself lose her composure to tune into her darker side in years, and when she did it was for simple things, but allowing her anger to take full control as she did frighten her, as the last time she allowed herself to be consumed by that small voice in the back of her head, she and her sister were left alone as their home was burned to the ground and their parents were murdered. She blamed herself, and she couldn't help it, she was petrified if she ever let it happen again...

She was taken back down to reality as she heard Aurora finally speak up, not entirely understanding what she had said as she began to walk upstairs. Jaiden shook her head and simply followed Aurora up the spiral staircase. With a sigh she sat down on the foot of the bed, her head in her hands as her mind was wracked with countless thoughts. There was so much chaos in such a short amount of time her brain was now only beginning to process it all at once. Jaiden finally looked up at Aurora for the first time since they got there, concern and worry were clearly written on her face as she spoke, "I uh...I didn't hurt you back there, did I?" her voice was much softer than usual and obviously full with anxiety as she wasn't exactly sure if she hadn't harmed Aurora or not when she went to go help, seeing as everything just became red and a bit of a blur. "If I did, I'm sorry...I just wanted to make sure that you were okay, I shouldn't have left you to go check on them...I should have taken you with me, I'm sorry." she said as her voice broke off in the end, as she could feel the familiar burning sensation form behind her eyes as she did the best she could to prevent herself from crying.

Markus looked at the woman in the water as she slowly got closer to the edge of the lake, noticing she looked at the two as Evelyn had seemingly followed him. She clearly had smelt the blood and wasn't able to keep a handle on it, Noted, he thought to himself. He'd make sure she was taken care of later, probably find someone willing to help with her hunger. He looked back at the woman, his eyebrows furrowed as he looked her over once more. "I was simply trying to let you know to be more careful, that's all. Consider it a fair warning, Zada." he said somewhat coldly as h turned from the siren and looked back at Evelyn, "I'll make sure you get something, trust me." he said as he gave her a bit of an apologetic smile.

"Anyway, just try not to eat too many of them, alright? We'll need some of them left alive enough to get some answers out of. I don't think that'd be too hard to ask." he said as he gave her a nod, gently taking Evelyn by th arm, they'd need to find something fast as he could tell her hunger was growing stronger every moment that passed by. Great, first the attack and now I have to go take care of a hungry vampire.., he thought himself as he huffed, he wasn't already in the past of moods and this only made his mood dip even more.

ImageAurora was gathering blankets from her closet when she heard Jaiden speak up from the edge of the futon in her room. She turned over her shoulder a look of concern on her face. "Jaiden - no, of course not, you saved my life" Aurora knew the witch blamed herself, she could hear it in her tone with the look on her face. Aurora wore that same look for years. She quickly gathered up the blankets making her way across the room to sat them next to Jaiden on the futon. At her next statement Rory's face fell and she grabbed Jaiden's hands - which were surprisingly warm - to stop her. "Jaiden stop. Don't you dare blame yourself for what happened, I'll never forgive you if you do. I went back, I ran right into their trap. You saved me, you understand? You saved me". Aurora let go of the witch's hands and gently cupped her face in her hands, closing her eyes slightly as she concentrated on let her calmness flow into Jaiden. After a small moment she opened her eyes, but didn't let go of Jaiden's face. Aurora wanted to make sure she understood. "I know you feel it. We all do right now. But this is our town, Greythorne, it's our home. We haven't lost it just yet okay? You have to believe that, you must. I'm not giving up on this town, and you can't either" Aurora finally let her hands fall as she finished her sentence.

Aurora sat there in silence for a moment as if she too needed to hear the words that had just come out of her mouth. After a moment, she picked up the top blanket and began to lay it out for Jaiden across the futon making it more comfortable for the witch. "I know neither of us will probably get any sleep tonight but that's no excuse not to try."

Cas was grateful when Phoenix gave into his little plea and left the couch to leaving to go to the bathroom. He couldn't count the number of times he glanced at the wings which made his own back ache. It was almost like a phantom pain, yet Cas knew it was partially real. The angel felt his back straighten up when Phoenix entered the room again a small sigh of relief bubbling out of his lips quietly as the Advil was placed on the table in front of him. "Thank you" he murmured grabbing the box when Phoenix passed into the kitchen, taking a few of them without anything - quite guiltily - desperate for a little relief.

He felt himself smile at Phoenix's statement turning his head towards the kitchen, "After trying that jam I'd really trust anything you gave me Woods". The angel waited patiently for his return, his eyes straying to the tiny knick knacks that were strewn about for a quirky, charming effect. It made him miss home a little. Something he hadn't thought about in years. After staying in motels, hotels, apartments, anywhere imaginable, Phoenix's decorated home struck a chord in his heart.

Cas smiled his eyes lighting up slightly as Phoenix walked back in performing a balancing act with the mugs of tea and cookies. "You're magic" He said with a slight laugh as he took the mug graciously from the table, wishing that he could feel the warmth of the cup considering his hands were most likely ice cold. Over the years Cas had begun to accept the fact that he couldn't feel physical sensations from others or objects, but in the beginning it was hard. At first the absence of pain felt a little empowering, that was of course unless it stemmed from his scars. Then he realized that he was numb to the simple brush of a finger, the warmth of a fire, or even a kiss. Cas believed it to be heaven's cruel joke, unfortunately it worked. What he could feel was ghostly and not right, as if he was in another body. He didn't quite understand the stipulations itself even after all these years.

His face softened as Phoenix asked him yet again if he was alright. "Phoenix, I promise I'm fine. You worry too much you know?" Cas took a small sip from the mug, keeping eye contact with the witch in front of him. He relished in the fact that whatever Phoenix made him had a pretty instant effect, Cas felt a little color flush into his cheeks. The angel was about ask Phoenix what exactly he had put in the tea when his nose tickled slightly. He instantly brought a hand up to it disheartened when he pulled away a smear of blood across the top of his knuckles. Cas quickly set the tea down on the table standing up rather abruptly. "I'm just going to use the restroom, I'll be right back".

He walked quickly in the direction Phoenix went passing through a rather tidy bedroom before finding the bathroom, his hand pressed against his nose. Cas closed the door quickly and locked it shut, before fumbling around in the dark for a light switch. He flinched slightly when white light illuminated the bathroom and shoved his face over the sink removing his hand. Cas watched as drop by drop, bright red blood spattered against the white sink and he sighed leaning his weight against it. After watching a considerable amount of blood drop into the sink - he finally released it might be a good idea to turn on the water which quickly became a light pink - Cas grabbed for some toilet paper to the side and shoved some up his nose (attractive) before finally looking in the mirror. He looked like a train wreck. True, some color had returned to his cheeks yet the skin around his eyes remained practically translucent. "Damnit" Cas muttered quietly as his hands gripped the sink his head dropping down. He was trying to avoid this exact situation. Maybe if he wasn't so careless with his powers he could've been fine and on the road to some other town by now. Did he really want that?

Cas finally mustered up the idea that he wasn't going to get out of this so easily and quickly took off his jacket and then began to unbutton his undershirt. As he tried to slip it off, the angel unfortunately found that he had to peel it off his back and the blood had matted the fabric to him. He turned his back to the mirror and glanced over his shoulder clenching his fists in anger as he looked at his back. The scars, gnarled and ugly, that ran from the top of his shoulder blades to his mid back had reopened and still continued to bleed. He shoved his palms into his face in frustration, where they trying to torture him? Cas looked up at the ceiling, "damn you, damn all of you" He muttered under his breath as he glanced back into the mirror. This wasn't the first time this had happened. Back when he first fell and was using his powers more liberally, his scars would open on occasion and they couldn't be treated with magic. In fact they rejected it. Once he sought out a witch to close them completely and her spell instead made his scars bleed even more profusely. He eventually began sneaking his way into hospitals slipping into the minds of doctors to patch him up before he made his exit. Granted, he had gotten smart about it so something like this hadn't happened in years. Cas knew he couldn't do this alone. And there was no way he was leaving this apartment now.

Cas paced back and forth for a moment, the open air now making his back sting even more. He had to accept it, he could just come up with some excuse. Maybe the hunters actually got to him, he just didn't notice. Phoenix wasn't an idiot. The angel stared at the doorknob before unlocking it carefully, opening it just a smidge. "Phoenix" He called out rather quietly, his voice was undeniably nervous, "Your first aid wouldn't happen to have any sutures would it?".

Silently she sat there, looking down at the floor in a dazed stupor as her mind raced. She blamed herself, every time anyone ever got hurt while she was around she blamed herself. It was the only thing she could do, it was the only thing she ever did anyway. Whenever she let that small voice in the back of her head have even the smallest and faintest bit of control, she blames herself. The voice was right, it was-no-it would be easy for her to just burn everyone and everything just like she did all those years ago. That one damned day, it was so easy for her to get let out her anger, to scream, to cry, to let every emotion she ever felt out and just-No. She shook her head as she could feel that small tingle begin to spread from her finger-tips to the palm of her hands, the slightest wave of heat. She wouldn't let it take control again, not now. She looked back up as Aurora had spoken, trying her best to convince her that it wasn't her fault, and that if anything, she saved her life. of course she'd go back and save her friend, she thought to herself. How heartless would one be, then again, that was a rather morbid and ironic thought the longer she focused on it.

Jaiden nodded as Aurora walked over and reached for her hands, listening as she spoke, convincing her that she did the right thing. Part of her wanted to believe it, she wanted to believe that she did the correct thing, but the thing Aurora didn't know is that she hurt the Hunter. She left a mark on the woman's wrist that would be a reminder until the day she died of what the witch was capable of, and that's what worried her. The Hunters didn't scare her much, not as much as she was afraid of herself. Knowing she could very easily burn down the entirety of Greythorne scared her, but she wouldn't. It was her home, it was where her friends were. She nodded as the Fae finally finished talking, she was right. She was just overreacting and this was there home, the small town was their's, and she'd do whatever she could do to protect it and the people here. "Okay, Aurora. You're right.." she finally spoke, breaking her seemingly endless silence. She took a deep sigh as she closed her eyes as she sat there, a small translucent tear fell and trickled down her cheek before quickly wiping it from her face.

"Y-yeah, I think sleep would be for the best...At least trying to." she said softly as she sat further down on the futon, feeling her eyes slowly grow tired. But her rest wouldn't be a peaceful or restful one, as often as she slept, her dreams were nothing but nightmares and sleep terrors, as her worst fears came to life in her sleeping mind, but as long as her friend needed her there, Jaiden would happily stay. Doing her best to keep herself awake, as honestly, her friend had needed more rest than she did after all. She was the one that was hurt, not Jaiden. "How are you feeling anyway? Does...Does it still hurt? If so, we can go see someone tomorrow for that." she said in mention of the bruising around Aurora's neck, the sight of it made her feel sick and angered. How someone could so easily hurt someone as innocent as her made her furious. No one deserved to be attacked at the festival, and next time she saw any of those Hunters again, Jaiden already had in mind what she would do if she came across them ever again, and she had no doubt that she would..

ImageAurora felt a small sense of relief as Jaiden seemed to accept her words. Of course, she could still sense the distress emanating from her but Rory decided to let things be. They had all had more than a stressful night. Aurora excused herself for a small moment to change out of her clothes into more comfortable pajamas, feeling a little bit better getting the costume off. She stared at it for a moment before shoving it deep into her trash - she didn't want anything to remind her of the events that happened tonight.

Aurora brought a copy oversize t-shirt and shorts to Jaiden, just in case the witch wanted to change just as she had, also offering her friend a shower if she wanted it. It was then that she finally decided to crawl into bed, feeling comfort as her fluffy comforter swallowed her whole. She alway slept wrapped up like a little cocoon at night, for Aurora more covers equaled more comfort. It was no surprise that she found herself staring aimlessly at the ceiling as she tried to will herself to fall asleep. Aurora had always been an easy sleeper and falling asleep had never been an issue for her. Of course, after the death of her parents she struggled but this was more due to the nightmares than the restlessness. So now the feeling was unfamiliar.

Rory was slightly thankful that Jaiden was still awake as well - even if Aurora had hoped her friend faired better in trying to fall asleep. At the mention of her throat she found herself placing a hand against her neck instinctively. "A little, but it's starting to fade. I guess I don't know how I'm feeling if I really think about it" She took a tiny deep breath and closed her eyes sinking her head into the pillow. "Like, I know it's not a good feeling. I'm not really sad... I guess just empty. But that really doesn't make any sense". After a moment of silence Rory slightly propped herself up on her elbows to look at Jaiden across the room. "What are we going to do?"

At the sound of Phoenix's voice Cas felt a little bit of relief internally, but his shoulders tensed up almost immediately. His hand was firm on the doorknob and he felt his grip was so tight he might accidentally rip the thing off of its hinges. "I thought I was but- I guess I was just ignoring it. I wanted to make sure everyone else was alright first" Cas didn't lie. Of course he left out the truth as to why he was hurt, but the reasoning was honest.

"No!" Cas's voice came out harsher than he intended and he leaned his head against the doorframe, closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He couldn't go to a hospital now, he didn't have enough energy to slip into anyone's head and at this point he had already dug his grave too deep. "Phoenix, I can't. I can't go to a hospital. It's too much, too much attention - too many questions - I can't" His tone came out much quieter this time, pleading, almost borderline pitiful. He was just so tired.

He clenched his fist tightly, as he glanced at the door in front of him. Phoenix just wanted to help him, and Cas was having a difficult time accepting that fact. In all honestly, Cas was scared. Terrified of what Phoenix would think of him, if he would be angry, or just repulsed. Cas liked Greythorne. It's why he couldn't leave, every time he packed and went to check out he ended up paying for another night, another week. Cas liked Phoenix. His smile, his undeniable selflessness - as reckless as it was, and that goddamn blackberry jam. And just like always, Cas was afraid of losing both of those things. He already knew where this road would lead, for him it always ended the same. Maybe that was a risk he was just going to have to take.

"Phoenix" For once his tone had no shake, no hesitancy, it wasn't necessarily calm but, collected. "I'm going to open the door but please just don't ask me anything- not now. And when we're done you can ask me anything you'd like or you can tell me to leave and I will. I'll leave and I'll never bother you or this town again" He paused and took a deep breath, "ok?" Then he let go of the doorknob and pushed it open.

Jaiden looked over at Aurora as she spoke, expressing how she was feeling and that her neck did feel slightly better, but not fully. A small pit formed in her stomach as a small tang of anger washed over her. She shouldn't have left Aurora by herself, she should have taken her back with her. But she pushed her away and ran. That's all she ever did, push people away and leave them. She was a coward, and she knew that deep down. She could never stop blaming herself for being such a coward, one that would hurt people, or cause others to be hurt. A small flame flickered in the palm of her hand for a few short moments before ceasing. She needed to regain control over her emotions and not let them overflow and consume her. It's what the voice wanted after all. Taking a deep breath, and slowly sighing as she opened her eyes again as thoughts swirled in her mind. She understood how Aurora felt, all too well. "After my parents died-" she began before taking another deep inhale, feeling her lungs inflate and then contract as she exhaled. She needed to accept the truth, otherwise, she would never get over it, and she knew she never would otherwise. "After they were murdered, I felt...empty and confused. they died, and my sister was almost killed as well...I felt empty and hallow for a while after that, sometimes still do. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I understand how you feel. A little too well." she said with a fake smile and chuckle as she combed her hand through her messy hair, sighing as she laid back for a moment until sitting up once more as Aurora had asked what they were going to do.

She hadn't really thought it through that much. The thought never crossed her mind, it was to simply get out of there and make sure everyone was okay. She never once thought about what to do after. It obviously wasn't safe anymore out there like it used to. Knowing that the Hunters were still out there, somewhere. It wouldn't be safe to go out anymore by yourself and keep strangers at a distance now. "I haven't really thought about that. I was too worried making sure everyone was okay. But, I guess, just be safe? it's too dangerous to be by ourselves anymore. At least not for long periods of time. I know not everyone can protect themselves like others can...But I guess that's we're here for, to make sure others are safe.." she said softly, a shadow of a smile on her face for simply a moment. "We'll figure it out. It'll just take some time is all." she said as she finally laid down on the bed, pulling the blankets up to her chest and sighed softly. They'd have to make sure the others were okay tomorrow and keep an extra eye out for any unknown people that could possibly hold a threat.

ImageAurora's face fell slightly as Jaiden mentioned her family. She knew the witch had lost her parents but never knew the full intent to her past. So it was true, Jaiden did know how Aurora was feeling. Her emptiness felt very much like it did those months after losing her family but Aurora often never brought that up - only when she had to. That was a part of her life she still wanted to run from but with everything that had happened tonight she wondered if it was just beginning to catch up.

Aurora found herself nodding along with Jaiden's words, which for the most part she agreed completely with. At the mention of friends, her mind instantly jumped to Alex - how was he? She could only hope that Oliver was taking care of him. Aurora had pretty much blocked it out due to the stress and chaoticness of the situation but she was worried for her friend. The brief moment she had brushed her hand across his head she felt it. Like small little tendrils of darkness creeping up around her hand, and her heart began to flutter. Fear. Aurora wasn't surprised, everyone was terrified, but it was a different kind of fear - it was darker, and stronger. And Phoenix. He had run off with a stranger in the night and whose to say that snow-haired man wasn't dangerous too? She breathed an audible sigh from her lips and sifted under the covers rubbing her eyes slightly. "I hope so Jaiden, I really do" But deep down Aurora was worried that things may never be the same again.

Cas instantly regretted opening the door when he saw the look on Phoenix's face. It was enough to make him bolt past the man and out the door into the night. He knew right then and there that Phoenix was never going to look at him the same. Cas couldn't understand why he thought any of this would ever be okay. Phoenix wasn't a doctor, nor did he even know anything about Cas when he really thought about it. If anything Cas wouldn't have been surprised if he had kicked him out right then and there, especially after everything that happened. The small moment of silence nearly killed him as his eyes frantically bounced around the room to anywhere but Phoenix, he couldn't look at him as he was terrified to see his face. For once Cas tried everything to block out what Phoenix was thinking - he didn't want to know.

Cas was shocked when he finally spoke up and instead of asking him to leave instead asked him to move. He finally locked eyes with the witch and for a moment found himself frozen in thought before he finally shook his head slightly as if to clear his mind. Phoenix was actually going to help him, of course he was. "O-Of course" Cas stammered as he took a step past Phoenix carefully, as he was in the middle of the doorway, the angel made sure to not touch him. He didn't want to scare him anymore than he already had. When he took a step into the bedroom he took a deep breath, running a few hands through his hair to distract him from the fact that they were trembling. Everything about the bedroom was perfect. The bed was made, it smelled faintly of lavender, and there was even a decorative throw across the edge of the bed. Everything about Cas was chaotic from the translucent sheen of his skin to the large tears in his back. He didn't belong here. Cas again was terrified to touch anything, afraid of leaving even the smallest stain on Phoenix's life. So he found himself standing in the middle of the room, a lost expression on his face.

He turned back to Phoenix realizing that the witch had been speaking to him, but he wasn't really processing the words. "I'm sorry-" It was a little to late for that. "If you could just... if you could just clean it and I could bandage it. At least to stop the bleeding" He felt wrong to ask Phoenix for something, guilty almost. Phoenix owed him nothing. A strange sensation overtook Cas, nothing like he'd ever felt before. The angel could feel his heart pounding in his head, and felt it took every ounce of his will just to breath. "I'm sorry" He repeated taking a small step backwards from Phoenix, the effort to push the words out causing it to sound more like a wheeze.

Phoenix would have been lying if he said that he wasn't disappointed that Cas agreed to tell him... what was happening. But he could see it in his face that Cas really, really didn't want to talk about it. And he wasn't going to push it. Not after the night they'd just had. Cas taking his hands was such a genuine, almost surprising gesture, and it almost took him aback. But he appreciated it, not realising how much he needed the physical contact. And, to be honest, the thought of sleep was incredibly tempting right now. But he didn't want to just let Cas go. He couldn't. So instead, he offered his couch and his coziest blanket, leaving a change of clothes to hand if Cas wanted it.

The minute Phoenix was alone in his bedroom, everything seemed to catch up with him. Alex bleeding out, the carnage of the attack, those scars on Cas' back. He didn't cry or panic or outwardly react. He had no idea how he didn't do any of those things, but instead, he found himself lying awake in bed, staring at the ceiling. He found himself texting the others, making sure they were okay, apologising for leaving, promising baked goods as an apology, anything to occupy his time and his brain.

He must have fallen asleep with the phone in his hand. He didn't notice himself falling asleep, only found himself waking up with the light streaming across the room. He hadn't planned on opening today anyway and was glad for that, because his limbs felt heavy and his mind felt groggy. But he was awake, and he knew sleep was completely out of reach. So instead, he showered and got changed. He'd almost forgotten about Cas until he walked back out in to the living area. Assuming that he was still asleep, Phoenix was as quiet as he could be. He was so used to being by himself that having to be mindful of other people was a strange experience. He usually blared whatever mid-2000's rock/emo playlist was suggested to him that day when he cooked or baked, but that morning, he made the pancake mix in relative silence. He found himself idly humming as he started to make the blackberry sauce though.

Evelyn didn't need sleep, not any more. It was more a habit than anything, a way of passing the daylight hours. But this morning, she decided not to sleep away the daylight. Instead, she layered up, pulling on a pair of gloves to cover her hands and the biggest hat she could find to cover her face. She pulled on a pair of aviator sunglasses and headed out in to town. She was so used to the hustle and bustle of big cities that she found it strange how late everything opened here. Or maybe that was just the day after the festival. Or the day after everything that had happened. The smell of blood still lingered in the air, but fainter now, more bearable.

She found herself helping to clear up a destroyed stall. Masks from the night before lay covered in splinters, still wearable but tainted by the events of the night before, so much so that she was sure nobody would ever wear them. Still, she carefully cleaned them off as well as she could and stacked them into the box. The hunters hadn't just tried to kill them. They'd enjoyed the destruction, ruined people's lives. This wasn't as much about trying to eliminate them as it was asserting dominance, striking fear in to their hearts.

Which meant that this was only the beginning. Evelyn knew they could be expecting something else. Maybe more subtle murders. Maybe another mass attack. Evelyn would have been lying if she said that the thought of leaving, of finding somewhere safer, hadn't occurred to her. But... she didn't want to. It was that simple. Markus was the closest thing she had to a friend right now. She knew he'd protect her, so abandoning him didn't sit right with her. Not after their discussion about their humanity. And so... she would stay and fight alongside them and help them clean up the mess when they won. And then she would decide what to do next.

Eventually, Markus and Evelyn had parted ways after a few more minutes of conversation, it was rather simple things, nothing really of note. Markus found himself slowly walking back by himself to his home, alone. Everything seemed enhanced and louder than it normally was, it was only then that he realized he hadn't eaten, and the pain of hunger began to wane on him. A small smile creased his lips when he remembered that he had a snack waiting for him, and he couldn't wait to sink his teeth into it. As hours passed he cleaned up the basement of any remnants of anything, no sign of anyone being there was a good thing. He had gotten out of his stupid costume and tossed it into the hole in the back of his house that he dug, finding himself taking a deep sigh as he buried a few other things as well. He showered and changed into a simple outfit, a plane gray t-shirt and sweatpants as he sat down by his fireplace and read a few chapters in one of the books he was reading as he sipped some freshly made tea. He was trying his best to ignore what was going on, but he knew that it was no longer safe in Greythorne, he made sure it was a little more safe as he made damn well sure to take care of that Hunter, which he made swift work of him.

But as the moon came up and he could feel himself slowly growing tired he retreated to his room and fell asleep, dreams of horror and his passed always plagued him, and this night was no different. Morning came all too soon, and after getting some coffee and changing his clothes, he decided he'd go back to the town and help clean up, god knows how it'd need to be fixed back up to its proper order. He found himself casually walking down the ever empty streets, seeing how no one really wanted to come out of their homes in fear of it happening again. He saw the all too familiar bright blue-ish green hair of a familiar face, cleaning up the area as the person picked things up and moved the bigger structures out of the way. Markus walked up to her slowly and helped clean up as he held a few things in his arms, "Morning. I figured I'd see you here." he said with a small smile as he looked at the vampire.

Jaiden found herself sighing and nodding at Aurora's hope of things returning to normal, they all wanted things to go back to how they were, but with how things had gone to shit so quickly in such a quick amount of time, she wasn't entirely sure anymore. But after changing into the PJ's that Aurora offered her, she flopped back into the bed and quickly drifted off to sleep. But as she expected, her dreams weren't dreams, but nightmares instead. Memories of her past events, they were only enhanced and more common now after the events of that night. If she was lucky, she wouldn't have been too pestering in her sleep for the poor fae that shared the room with her, but more often than not, Jaiden was told that she tended to sleep talk as well as flinch and full-on move-in her sleep. But as morning came, the sun piercing through the window she groaned as she slowly opened her eyes, soaking in the light. For a moment she didn't realize where she was and began to panic, until she slowly remembered that she was simply at a friend's house, as she saw that Aurora was still in her bed. She sighed softly as she combed her fingers through the mess of hair, as her mind raced. It was already morning, and who knows what today had in store for them. For all they knew, walking outside could be a death-sentence, nevermind being by one's self.

But seeing as Aurora was still asleep, Jaiden thought she'd help her friend out and make a small surprise for her, she quickly and softly got out of her bed and tiptoed down the stairs and into the main part of the small apartment. She didn't know exactly what she was looking for, but she decided she'd tidy up the place a little, putting things back where she belonged and cleaned up which didn't take long as Aurora kept her place rather clean and neat, which didn't surprise the young witch much. Next on her mind was preparing them breakfast, after a small gander through her fridge she found a few things that she could put together for a modest breakfast. After another twenty to thirty minutes, she had an array of pancakes, french toast, and coffee freshly made and set out on the table, figuring the smell would help wake up Aurora sooner than later. She just hoped it'd be enough and tasted better than she hoped, the last thing she wanted to do was start off Aurora's day with a poorly made breakfast.

ImageAurora’s dreams were more or less nightmares and she woke up several times in the night with her heart in her throat and her fingers clutching the sheets with a death grip. It was after the fourth time that she woke up when she decided that there was no point in trying to go back to sleep and instead settled for staring at her ceiling in an attempt to empty her mind. It was then that by about four in the morning that her body finally gave into it’s tiredness and she succumbed to the coziness of her blankets and drifted off.

When the sun finally shone through her curtains painting her bed in a plethora of sunshine Aurora opened her eyes. Her mother always used to tell her that she was simply making things up but Rory had always believed that the sunshine made her stronger. Nothing made her feel better than basking in the warm glow of the sun and she liked to think of herself as a plant. So she sat there for a moment letting the rays warm her skin before she propped herself up on her elbows to glance around her room. The heavy weight that had been placed on her chest last night had somewhat subsided but she could still feel the fear creep up in the back of her throat just hovering there like a burden. Her heart began to beat a little bit faster as she noticed the empty blankets across the room and she hurried out of bed peering in the bathroom. Also empty. “Jaiden?” She called quietly, wringing her hands nervously as she crept quietly down the stairs a look of confusion crossing over her face as the smell of pancakes and syrup became apparent.

Aurora was shocked to not only see that her place had been cleaned to near spotlessness but there was an entire breakfast buffet placed out before her. The fae’s heart melted. Her eyes instantly spotted her friend just as she was placing out a glass of orange juice on to the table and she finished the last five steps in two as she made her way over to the table. “Jaiden - what… this looks amazing. You didn’t have to do this you know! I- I would’ve helped you if you had just woken me up” Aurora felt of tinge of guilt for not aiding in any part of the food making, but that was just how she treated everything that was given to her.

Cas didn’t dream - angels never dreamed. In fact, he technically didn’t need to sleep either but curled up on Phoenix’s couch the angel slept like a rock. His hand hung off of the couch his fingertips just barely brushing the carpet below. Cas looked peaceful. Even Phoenix’s stirring didn’t awake him, and instead it came from the faint humming in the kitchen. He rolled over slightly, blinking his eyes open as they adjusted to the newfound light pouring into the room from the windows around him. The humming drifting into the living room from the kitchen brought the faintest of smiles to his lips yet he also realized in perhaps the same moment that he wasn’t in his apartment. It took him a second for the night before to flood his thoughts and he jerked up suddenly on the couch, wincing slightly as the scars on his back were still tender. Phoenix. Suddenly a multitude of thoughts came crashing back, the festival, the hunters, the gentle way Phoenix had patched him up, and his patience. A small sigh escaped his lips and he ran a careful hand through his hair. Cas had hoped that a night of sleep might help him clear his mind, make rational decisions. If anything it just made him more confused.

However, the second the smell of blackberries wafted in his mind was set. Probably not the greatest of determining factors but - for now it would suffice. Cas pushed himself up into a sitting position stretching his arms slightly trying to determine the real damage to his shoulders. They were still sore and stiff but he could already tell the pain had begun to fade. Almost like a cruel little trick, they’d let him suffer and then eventually his healing would kick in. Cas had just begin to patch them up as the scars healed less garish that way. As he glanced down he frowned noticing how disheveled he looked. His top half was bare save for the bandages wrapped around his torso and his nicer pants were wrinkled from sleeping in them. Cas was in desperate need of a shower. He followed the path he remembered the other day, hoping not to intrude to much into Phoenix’s private living space eventually making his way to the bathroom. His snow-blonde hair had changed from it’s normal gelled look into more curls atop his head, probably from being smashed up against a pillow all night. There was definitely a visible wear to his face - he looked tired. After a few moments of searching Cas managed to find the roll of gauze and carefully reapplied his bandages so that they were clean and for good measure splashed some cold water on his face.

He found himself following the humming and the smell of food around the hall into the kitchen. Phoenix had his back turned to him as the witch was busy mixing a fresh jar of blackberry jam. A small smile appeared on Cas’s face as he watched him work for a few seconds before making his presence known. “Goodmorning” He spoke cooly making his way over to Phoenix peering over his shoulder (which wasn’t much of an issue as Cas was a few inches taller) to see what he was doing. Instantly his senses were overcome with the sickly sweet smell of the jam and his eyes lit up like a child on Christmas. A mischievous grin appeared on his face and he quickly reached around Phoenix dipping a finger in the jam before popping in into his mouth with a laugh. He took a few steps back away from the counter as if he was afraid Phoenix might thwack him with a wooden spoon. “How is it that it tastes even better than usual?”

Markus grinned as Evelyn stated she had nothing else to do and that she wasn't really up to anything else, "I was about to say, I didn't think of you as the charitable type honestly." he said with a small smirk. The two continued picking things up and moving debris fro the street. Broken structures and beams laid strewn around the streets, it would take forever to clean up this town, if it was the two of them. But as Markus looked around, a few others slowly crept out of their houses to help, a few other Lycans and day dwelling folk as he didn't pay much attention to them. Markus easily took the piece of debris he was handed and placed it aside in a makeshift pile, it would only be good for a bonfire at this point. He looked back at her at the mention of the attack and how they were fine, for the most part, they couldn't do this alone again. The small group wouldn't be able to take care of the town, if they couldn't even take care of themselves. "Things could have gone much, much worse last night. No one died, least not that we know of yet. Besides, Greythorne has one of the best Lycan and Vampire duo on their side, I think they have a shot." he said with a small teasing wink.

He took a moment to think and sigh as he looked around, it was a mess, and they'd need to do something. Be more cautious and possibly have patrols of people at night to make sure nothing is going amuk. They could discuss things at a later point. "We'll think of something, Eve...We usually do. This town is full of hard-workers and people that look out for each other. Don't stress yourself so much, alright?" he said as he gave her a gentle pat on the head, turning his head back as his senses picked up a familiar scent behind them. He turned his head and couldn't help but smirk as he saw the familiar face of Zada approaching them. It always was an interesting thing to see a Siren on land, at least in his opinion. He gave her a small smile and nod as she grew closer, eventually asking the two on the extent of the attack, there was no real way of avoiding the topic, or no real way to soften the way of talking about it. At first he was only able to give her a small shrug, but as he thought he was able to give a somewhat final answer the best he could, "Other than those two that were eaten by you, I think the others were scared off enough last night. As for the damage, the downtown square just needs to be cleaned back up, and will be back in mostly working order again. But as for the people, I think most are just scared. I think we had as few casualties as we could have in such short notice." he stated plainly, for all he knew, the small attack had only left one rather injured and a few mentally scarred. "As for moving, I wouldn't go that far. The last thing we need is mass panic and for people to think we need to evacuate. I've seen towns go under far worse attacks and come back being fine. Greythorne will be okay. We have the numbers and measures if we need to take them. Just lie low and don't cause any issues. Just continue with your daily lives.."

Jaiden couldn't help but form a large smile as Aurora laid her eyes on the food that was put on the table, and the comment she made of not having to do anything of the sort caused her to chuckle slightly. "Consider this a way of me saying thank you for letting me stay at your place. It was the least I could do for you. I would have done more but, I worked with what I had, I hope it was okay. I-I didn't mean to upset you or anything. I can always go out and buy more food later today." she said with a small chuckle as she brushed her hair from her eyes. She knew Aurora would apologize for not helping, but after the night they all had, Aurora deserved to be able to sleep as much as she could, but from the look on her face, she looked exhausted. It would only be natural, after any real traumatic event, sleep would be next to impossible for anyone.

"I'm not exactly sure on what you like or don't like, so I just went with what you've had in your fridge and kind of ment on a haunch. I hope everything tastes as good as it looks, I'm no professional there, that belongs to Phoenix." Jaiden said with a small smile, pulling out one of the chairs for Aurora, "Please, sit. If there's anything else that you need to do, just feel free to kick me out of your house and I'll let you be." she said with another chuckle as the two finally sat down and began their breakfast making small talk every now and then between their bites of food or sip of the coffee or orange juice that was set out for the.

VIOLET MARSDEN
| Ghost | Unknown Location | #6605ab

Everything was dark and silent. Cold yet warm to the touch, it was a bit claustrophobic in nature, but yet everything felt endless. As if it just went on for miles if it ever ended in any direction one looked. There was no natural light or any sound, simply the dull hum and awkward silence that exists when one is alone or thinks that they are alone. In what felt like the blink of an eye, Violet opened her eyes once more, finding herself in an empty void. There was nothing but darkness and silence at least that's what she believed. She didn't know where she was or what happened. All she remembered was pushing Alex ahead as they were chased by something and then all went black. She didn't know how long she was alone for, or if she was ever alone. She didn't know if Alex made it back or if he was trapped here too-no. That couldn't be it, she was alone. Meaning he had made it out, or at least that was all she was able to hope for. She stood in silence for what felt like an eternity before finally opening her mouth to utter the words, "H-hello?" she called out, her voice sounded like her's but nothing like it at the same time. It was a mix of her own voice, an echo, slight whispers from unknown voices and a deep, thunderous growl all at once. She had never experienced anything like this, and she had done several things as a ghost, but nothing like this had ever really happened before. She called out once more, her voice beginning to sound more like her's the more she spoke. But there was nothing. No response, no echo, not even a sound. Not that she had expected anything if there was even anything to respond to her. With a heavy sigh she crossed her arms, slowly pacing back and forth as what to do. If this is what purgatory, limbo, the afterlife or whatever else someone wanted to call it was, Violet didn't like it. Being a ghost was one thing, but being in a place of constant silence and darkness was something even herself wasn't able to live with. The irony she thought. Violet had lived a life many would have wanted, but it was taken all too soon, she simply wished she could have her own life back, if not able to be a ghost once more, even that was enough for her. Compared to where she was now, being a ghost wasn't that bad.

As time went on, she could begin to hear something, or at least that's what she thought. It started out almost inaudible. Then began as a slow and soft whisper, then merely a collection of whispers, until it grew and grew to form into a soft, dull voice. From what she could collect from memory, it was a male's voice. But no male she had ever met before. She answered the voice, asking what it wanted and who was this. It never exactly explained who it was, but the voice did explain what it wanted. Simply put, the voice wanted the same thing that Violet wanted. If this was true, she could get the means of being able to help out her friends, at least one more time. The two of them conversed for a bit longer, going over exactly what that meant, and how there was a price for her to have what she wanted. Violet was desperate and knew she'd need to do whatever she had to, to get back there and help her friends. The voice told of a price that it would cost, and she knew exactly what it would entail. After being given a few moments to reflect on it, she agreed. She didn't like it, but agreed with the voice nonetheless. She was promised that she'd find them back again, and with help and time, she could help them. Violet knew how reckless and possibly dangerous this choice would be, but she didn't care, all she wanted was to make sure that her friends were okay. Violet closed her eyes as intrusted, and the next thing she knew when she opened her eyes was that she was back. Bright lights and sounds were never so comforting to her before. But the location was unknown to her, it was a house but one she didn't exactly recognize. But one thing she did, the voices of the people in the house. At first she thought she was simply dreaming, but as she followed the voices, she saw two individuals standing in a kitchen talking. She didn't exactly catch what they were saying, as she immediately walked up to the brown-haired male, not caring that she was interrupting their conversation. "You bastard! I'm glad that you're okay and everything, but do you know what I had to do to get back here?" she exclaimed, raising her hand she aimed to slap Alex across the face, knowing full well that her hand would simply phase through him and she'd fall to the ground every time like she had prior.

But what shocked Violet more, was not that her initial reaction was to yell at Alex after being gone for who knows how long she had been away for, but it was that instead of simply missing Alex. There was a loud and harsh sounding smack as her hand made contact with Alex's face, causing his head to turn to the size roughly. A large red handprint was on the left side of his face. Violet's looked at Alex in shock as she gave a soft gasp out of shock and surprise, not at her action, but by the fact that it had worked. "W-what the fuck...?" she muttered as she looked at her hand, and then back up at Alex, Let me do that again??" she asked with a tone ox excitement and confusion in her voice. Little did Violet know that she had gotten what she wanted and more, but the price she knew was something that none of her friends would want. And she planned on keeping it to herself as long as she could...Heaven knows she'd need to.

This habit of taking on huge projects whenever he was emotionally distressed was starting to become a bit of an issue, if he was being perfectly honest with himself. But in his defense, Friendsgiving hadn't initially been a huge undertaking. It was more a case of... spiraling out of control and suddenly he had found himself making a spreadsheet of what exactly everyone was bringing and what he had left to do. He'd been awake at 3AM last night cleaning and decorating the apartment and attempting to move around furniture to make some space.

He wasn't thinking about that conversation over breakfast. He wasn't still trying to wrap his head around the whole idea of angels and a higher being and... everything that came with it. And he certainly wasn't trying to come to terms with the fact that he'd had a massive freaking crush on a literal angel. And for once, Phoenix had done what was probably the sensible thing. He'd told Cas that he needed some space to process things. It had been the last thing he'd wanted to do when he finally looked at those goddamn eyes, but this time, his head had won out. His heart had gotten a compromise by inviting Cas to the Friendsgiving dinner, but if Phoenix was being honest, he didn't exactly have high hopes.

Why had he held the dinner in his own damn apartment? Alex's abuela probably would have let him take over her kitchen and hell, probably would have helped in return for an extra large slice of Phoenix' pecan pie. It was too small. Really, it was too small for anyone other than him, Alex, and Jaiden. But no, he'd invited more people than that, and he was stressed. The four cups of extra strong coffee he'd had that morning to try and combat the three hours of poor sleep he had wasn't helping things, sure, but it was either that or risk messing something up, and that was not an option. Everything had to be perfect.

He had no damn control over his own life, and so he was going to take control over this damn dinner if he had to give himself a caffeine-induced heart attack doing it.

Evelyn had only a vague idea of who this Phoenix person was, and she had even less of an idea how she'd ended up with an invitation to Thanksgiving dinner. She had never really been to Thanksgiving. Her family just never did it. But Markus had said he was going. She got the impression he wasn't quite sure why he was going either, but he'd said she should go to "make friends" or something like that. She'd retorted that excuse back at him.

She didn't even know what one brought to Thanksgiving dinner, so she just had a bottle of red wine and a box of chocolates. She didn't even know what to wear so erred on the side of "festive". But she would have been lying if she said that she wasn't kinda looking forward to it, to meeting the various people this peculiar little town had to offer. From what she'd seen so far, she knew it would certainly be interesting.

She knocked on Markus' door, her trademark aviator sunglasses and large hat shielding her face from the sun. She'd been spending most of the time out at night lately, patrolling the woods and the sleeping town, looking for... something. Things had been far too quiet, and it was making everyone uneasy. Evelyn got the impression that they were gathering their strength and their forces, waiting to strike back at them and this time, with enough force to overwhelm them. Evelyn felt like they should be preparing, doing... something. But she was an outsider, it wasn't like she could whip up her own team of patrols or impose a curfew or anything. And so she was stuck in limbo, waiting for something to happen and praying she could help.

Phoenix ran a hand through his hair as he heard somebody at the door, ready to prepare himself for guests- but as he heard Alex's voice calling out a joke about robbing him or something, he relaxed, rolling his eyes a little. As expected, he'd brought plenty of drinks, which was at least one less thing to worry about. He shook his head as Alex asked if he could help with anything. "I think everything's under control, but thanks. Grab yourself a drink or whatever if you want," he said. Even if he hadn't got everything mostly pre-prepared, there was no way he would have let Alex anywhere near his cooking. Phoenix had a natural flair for cooking. Alex had a natural flair for burning stuff.

Phoenix didn't even get a chance to fully address Jaiden before Markus and one of the newcomers arrived. Phoenix was pretty sure he'd seen her around town but couldn't put a name to her face. "Hey Markus," he called. He just shrugged as Markus thanked him for inviting them. "It's nice to have people around," he replied, shrugging a little. "Nice to have somewhere to go," the woman said with a smile. "I'm Evelyn by the way, Markus has been trying to encourage me to make friends so dragged me along," she teased. "Oh, here, I brought these!" She said with a smile, and he returned it and thanked her. Markus disappeared to go to the door and Phoenix turned to Alex. "Can you get everyone some drinks?" He asked.

The sudden arrival of everyone at once made the apartment feel quite small. Ignoring that nagging feeling of panic that everything was going to go wrong, he forced himself to take a deep breath and put out a tray of fresh bread rolls and other finger food for people to graze on. The sound of someone else arriving made his stupid, foolish, hopeful heart leap, but instead he heard Markus talking to somebody, and he forced himself to not react, to swallow the bitter taste that suddenly arose in his mouth. "Could you poor me a glass of something?" Phoenix asked Alex, forcing a smile. "Just not wine," he added.

Once Markus called that the door was open, Evelyn pushed the door open and stepped in. She raised an eyebrow as she saw the state the kitchen was in. She wouldn't have put Markus down as a baker, but whatever it was smelled amazing. "Thank you. This is my first proper Thanksgiving so I wanted to make an effort at least," she admitted. She raised an eyebrow as Markus said something about introducing her- and then the most adorable, tiny ball of fluff came sprinting into the room and Evelyn fell entirely in love. By the time Markus was ready to leave, she was sitting on the floor cuddling the puppy, ready to completely give up on Thanksgiving and cuddle Coco for the rest of the day.

"Ugh, fine," she said as he said he wanted to leave, agreeing only because he let her carry Coco. "You know, Markus, I never would have had you pegged as a small dog kinda guy. I was picturing an... Alsatian or Husky or some... giant wolf like dog. As stereotypical as it sounds. But Coco is tiny and adorable and perfect," she cooed as they walked through the woods. The dog was distracting her from the tension that seemed to linger in the woods, the fear that something would happen at another gathering.

But they made it to the apartment without anything going wrong, and Evelyn introduced herself to the host, before putting Coco down. Another woman materialised to pet Coco, who she recognised vaguely from seeing her around town. "I'm Evelyn. Markus has kinda taken me under his wing since I got into town. Trying to help me make friends, although mostly I annoy him into doing stuff with me and keeping me company," she said. "And now that I've discovered this little darling, he's never getting rid of me," she cooed at Coco, scratching between her ears.

Alex went ahead and made himself a drink as people started arriving. Every new person to enter the room made Alex's heart race, and not in a fun way, so he decided on tequila, and plenty of it. He had to remind himself that he knew everyone in the room (aside from Markus' guest, and he wasn't entirely sure what he thought of her), and that he would be fine. Still, he couldn't shake the thought that he would somehow get swallowed in this, the smallest of crowds, and meet whomever might be waiting for him in some dark corner. He swallowed the anxiety rising in his throat, turned to Markus, and grinned. "Hey, Markus, did you-" He cut himself off when he realized that there was a very important guest present, and his smile widened into something more genuine, "Oh my god, you brought Coco!" As much as he desperately wanted to drop everything to play with the tiny ball of fluff, Phoenix asked him to make drinks. Alex looked slightly crushed for a moment, then he nodded. Anything to help Phoenix. "I'm not getting anything for Jaiden, though, she can help herself; she's mean." As he said that, though, he poured a drink for her anyway. He figured he would get Markus a drink (or let the man get his own) when he was done at the door. He wasn't sure about the other woman, but she'd brought wine and he assumed she wouldn't bring something she didn't like, herself.

He delivered Jaiden's drink wordlessly, then he looked at the woman who had come with Markus and offered a warm smile, "I don't think we've met- I'm Alex." He held the glass of wine to her, "You brought this, so I kind of assumed you would drink it. I'm not normally so..." He paused, sighing as he struggled to find the word he wanted, then he shook his head, "Anyway, it's nice to meet you." Then he knelt down and held his hand out to Coco, smiling as he coo'd at her, speaking in that sing-song voice people use when they speak to small children, "Si hubiera sabido que vendrías, habría traído golosinas para perros." He spent a brief moment gently petting the dog before Phoenix asked him to get him a drink. Alex very nearly asked Phoenix some clarifying questions, but one look at his friend's face, and Alex decided against it. Instead, he excused himself from the puppy fest with a smile.

He poured Phoenix a, perhaps, too large glass of rum and coke, heavy on the rum, and handed it to his friend, but not without asking, "Hey, you okay?" Alex knew Phoenix well enough to know that something wasn't right, and though he also knew Phoenix wouldn't want to talk about it, he couldn't just ignore it. Phoenix was his best friend, and Alex valued their relationship over nearly every relationship he had. And while it was normally Phoenix looking out for Alex, Alex was always willing to let the roles reverse if Phoenix needed him, and Phoenix knew that. Or, he should, anyway.
