Company Mercs Intro

Saruto Shogun and Verile Sal-man both receive an audio message about a very profitable job, a one time offer, deal of a life time job. If they take the job, the rewards would set them up for life, the could retire or be given a permeant job. They are told to head to Port Freedom, the client has setup a VIP room for the job briefing. Once the two arrive, they see a room with a bar setup in one corner without a bartender, and a large holo projector in the middle of the room with plenty of comfortable seating around it. The door seals behind the last one to enter and the projector activates. It show a space station and a very ganaric voice, "Thank you for taking this job. I will keep this quick. One of our stations has gone silent two months ago. We need you to board it and find out what happened. The mission is yours, all we ask is get what intel and sensitive information or materials you can for us. Anything is yours to keep. Once in the nebula you will not be able to call out, and to help keep this as quiet as possible you will fly in on one of our ships. The ship will be fully manned and they know how to get you in and out. That is their whole job, make sure you can get in and out, but they will leave without you if need be. Now we will also offer you what gear we can. Please take what you can carry and head to the ship. Good luck." The projector turns off then lifts into the celling, revealing a stairwell down to an armory then out to a hanger were a man in a civilian pilot suit is waiting to help load the gear. Once loaded he show the two to their seats and heads to the bridge and takes off. Once in open space the jump seats unlock.

Saruto Shogun, sans helmet and with empty mags, was armed and didn't need to visit the armory. But he did go in to check out the HAR 2 and CDAR ammunition. While his armory on the Megidoloan could reload his spent rounds, it took longer every time to locate materials to replenish them. Laying the six mags, three HAR 2 and three CDAR, out on the workbench he preceded to load them. His mind automatically tuned out everything that wasn't important at the moment. Each motion helped distract him the past the dug it long surrated claws deep into his soul and refused to release him. "Since that day, my life has been nothing but one battle after another. Am I destined to forever be alone?" Not excepting an answer to his question Saruto glanced back to the other. 'Girly man.' Was his only thought of the mercenary that was also called to this port.

Taking this job made Saruto wonder if he would've chosen this life if his home hadn't been destroyed. Shaking his head, he finished loading the six mags and magnetically attached them to the thigh armor plates. It also reminded him that he should weary of the other mercenary. 'Most don't have my rules.' Saruto silently mused. Recalling the details of this job, he wished that he could've use his Sci-Cruiser. But they wanted this as black as possible, so he will leave his ship out. Sliding an earpiece in his ear Saruto tapped it. "Megidoloan, head the Sagittarius arm and do cargo blasts till either I call or you have to get me." he states, cutting the connection. Knowing that his order will be carried out, he turned away from the bench. "How trouble will me into? Since I don't trust anyone but me to actually try and save me."

Verile stood in the armory examining the weapons laid out before him. He disapproved of most of them, being a of a slight build he had never been very good with larger weapons. As well as his pilot training giving him a preference of mobility over force. He skimmed over a few of the larger rifles with grey, uninterested eyes until flaring a sudden orange as he noticed the revolvers. Picking one up he called over to the other mercenary he would be working with. "Hey look they have the same models as I usually use." Then went back to looking over the smaller weapon, examining it's intricacies at different angles with enthusiasm.

He pocketed his new weapon in his coat, and set off towards the ship. He considered asking the pilot if it would be alright for him to fly, but then dropped the idea as he didn't know where they were going. As he walked by the other mercenary he heard him say something about loneliness and his eyes turned a shade bluer. He felt that the question had been rhetorical and decided not to answer. There would likely be plenty of time for talking as they traveled to their destination. As well as time for, other things, he thought to himself, smiling at his bracelet.

Falling in trail with the girly merc, Saruto drew the high powered laser core refitted .357 magnum and checked the charge. Seeing that was fully charged he returns it to the holster, pausing long enough to grab his helmet. Not particularly listening the merc he settled it in the crook of his arm. 'Wonder what fighters they have in the bays?' he mused questionably, remembering the hatches he saw coming in. Letting his gaze drift, Saruto felt his mind slowly slide into auto pilot. Reading itself and him for anything that could happen. Releasing a breath, he kept his mouth shut.

Reaching the ship's open hatch, he passed the other merc and walked into it. Finding a jump seat away from anyone Saruto place the helmet over his head and blasted his playlist. Settling in for the flight he drops his head back. 'That should keep the merc from talking to me.' he thought, bopping in time with the beat. While his music blares memories, not particularly good or happy ones, raced through at warp speed. He barely noticed the pain those caused; as he thought about atleast once a day. No matter the emotion it carried with it. He knew that he was broken and lost. And nothing yet has filled the jagged gaping hole in heart. Saruto doubts anything will ever fill it again.

The other mercenary had decided to very blatantly made it clear that he wanted to be left alone during the flight. Verile didn't feel that that was very fair since there was no one else that he could pass the time with, and he hated to sleep while flying. Rather he didn't mind sleeping while flying, what he din't like that he always woke up with neck cramps. Oh well he thought, rolling his eyes, at least I have other means of passing the time. He checked his bracelet to see how much of the faintly glowing fluid was in it and, satisfied with how much there was, punctured his skin with the small fangs that protruded from it. He collapsed in his seat, firmly strapped in for the ride, as a pleased, dreaming smile crept across his face. His eyes glazed over and turned a shade of bring pinks and purples as he dazed off into semi-consciousness.

On the Phoenix

The man comes back down the stairs and over to Saruto, giving his foot a small kick. Then motioning for him to follow, he called over to Verile, "Hey follow me." Verile snapped back to consciousness when the man called to him. The drug hadn't had enough time to take it's full effect and he was no longer in the mood for it. His eyes flickering a soft red, Verile followed the two to the dining area. He wasn't paying any attention as to what seat he sat down in, he simply chose one and sat down. He started tapping impatiently on the table in front of him, it was always like this whenever he was interrupted.
