Introduction

The evil Sultan and his Throne.

To this day, the desolace bears witness to the horrid
acts of Sultan Sareyyed, more commonly
referred to as the Dark Sultan. Around 256
years ago, the Desolace was home to a flourishing
collection of 3 empires and nations, such as
The Lavethian confederacy, The Relantian Nations and
The Altavian empire. Those three sovereignities
were the super-powers of the world surrounding the
desolace. The three powerful nations lived side by side
resting from the previous 100 year war. Before the
100 year war, the Lavethians still had an empire, and
a royal family. The relantian people were
just a collection of colonies under the Altavian empire,
and the Altavian empire was more powerful than ever.
Having claim of the only air force of wyvern riders, the
Altavian empire ruled the skies, and had the upper hand
in the early decades of the war, being able to cover
ground quickly, and respond to enemy attacks. It didnt
take long for the Lavethian Empire to develop a similar
force, the Dragoner squad, which consisted of the bravest
knights, riding atop dragons bred for war. The dragons in
the dragoner squad were only slightly bigger than the wyverns
the Altavians used, but had 4 legs, and the ability to breathe
fire. This allowed the Lavethians, who rarely possessed magic,
to combat the magic of the Altavians, which was one of the
main reasons to why the Altavians had a success aside from their
wyvern riders. Eventually, 3 superior war dragons were bred,
and given to the royal family, namely Emperor Draco Velcaroth
Lavethius the Second and his two sisters, Barypona Lavethius
and Therana Lavethius. With the three royal family members
leading the Dragoner squad, the Lavethian empire soon ruled
the skies above the desolace. Right after, the Relantians
saw their chance, renounced their Altavian overlords and
rebelled. As the Altavians had already lost many soldiers
to the war, and now their supply lines from the colonies were
cut off, the Altavian empire tasted its first strikes of
bitterness. The Relantian colonies were placed directly around
the capital of the empire, Altavia, and the Altavians were
quickly thrown back to hide behind their walls. The Lavethian
empire, supporting the rebellion, proposed an alliance with
the Relantians, agreeing to a pact of friendship and military
brotherhood. Opening all trade routes, the Lavethians became
the recipents of all the goods of Relantian colonies,
which aquired spectacular profits from the trade,
and as a result, both the Lavethian empire and the Relantian
colonies quickly flourished. The Relantians began breeding
wild Snapjaw hounds for military means,
and soon developed their first main force, namely the
Relantian riders. Soon enough, every Relantian warrior sought
to aquire a Snapjaw, and the main concept of Relantian warfare
consisted of their cavalry, which was able to perform multiple
skirmishes a day, harassing Altavian forces and raiding their
properties. Despite the harsh climate of the open Desolace
desert, with the combined forces of the Relantian riders and
Lavethian Dragoner squad, the Altavians were pushed beyond
their limit, and a surrender was declared. The Altavian
empire would be allowed to continue to exist, but at
the same time, the Altavian empire would declare to
be a vassal empire of the Lavethian royal family.
As such, the 100 year war was concluded with the victory of
the Relantian nations and Lavethian empire.
Unknowingly, 2 years after the end of the war, a marriage between
an Altavian noblewoman and a Lavethian merchant would produce
a son, named Sareyyed, who would later in his life change the
course of history, for many centuries to come.
In the next 18 years, the three nations would prosper in peace,
and Sareyyed would grow into a fine young man, inheriting the wealth,
cunning and heritage of both his parents. After Sareyyeds mother
died from an unknown illness, his father committed suicide out of
grief, leaving Sareyyed with a notable amount of treasure.
Around that time, news were heard that the Lavethian emperors sister,
Barypona, would be married to a champion warrior from the Bariphoroi
family, namely "Haakon the champion". Apparently, Haakon had unbridled
strength, and was able to harden his skin up to where it felt like
steel, letting him walk through whole campaigns without as much a
scratch. Despite the notoriety of the Bariphoroi family, and their
alleged heritage of "Bestowing iron skin" on every descendant,
Haakon even managed to best every previous feats of strength done
by any previous Bariphoroi ancestor. The wedding was grand, and
people from all over the three nations rushed to witness a glimpse
of the astonishing pair. Sareyyed ignored the news, and rushed to
set up a post inside the Altavian courtship, becoming a noble thanks
to both his wealth and mothers heritage.
In the next 3 years, Sareyyed built up a strong trade organization,
bringing him great wealth. He also became an influencial member
of the Altavian nobles. Despite his best intentions to keep his matters
modest and polite, Sareyyed began using crueller means to gain wealth
and power, using extortion, blackmail and secret threats to gain what
ever he wished for. It didnt take long for Sareyyed to compile a team
of assassins, who would carry out his tasks silently and without any
trace. The team of assassins comprised of a Lavethian, an Altavian and
two Relantians, one being a javelin thrower and the other an archer.
As his influence and power rose, more and more Altavian nobles disappeared,
mainly for opposing Sareyyed in some means. In about a year more,
the Lavethian Emperors step-brother, Haakon, husband of Barypona,
summoned Sareyyed to a secret meeting. Sareyyed, being honed in many
sorts of intrigue, knew this could only mean one thing, profit.
The two met, and in secrecy, found out that they both shared an almost
unquenchable thirst for power. They concluded, that with Haakons strength
and position, combined with Sareyyeds influence over the underworld,
the two would make a fearsome pair, able to accomplish anything.
They began working together, using Sareyyeds team of assassins to
convey letters and exchange information, making it seem like the two
had never even met. They began turning more and more corrupt officials
to their side, either by threats or the allure of money. Eventually,
Haakon bartered with the Lavethian Emperor, and gained permission to
build a citadel in the middle of the Desolace, positioned exactly so
it would have all 3 nations within its reach. Haakon explained his case
by claiming it would become a metropolis of trade, the center of the land
and a stable source of income for Lavethia as well. Once he received
his permission with the royal seal of the Emperor, construction was
started as soon as possible, sending thousands of masons and craftsmen
to build the magnificent citadel. Work went well, until strong sand storms
began hitting the site, the desert around the location became more
inhospitable than any other part in the desolace. Most construction
workers died from lack of drink or from the intense storms. The occasional
raids of enraged snapjaw hounds also put its mark on the workforce, and
soon enough, the construction workers gave up, revoking the contract.
Not many made it out from the site alive, or even through the storm,
but those who did, claimed it was cursed, they claimed they could hear
ancient voices conveying their wrath into the storm, also agitating the
snapjaw hound packs. It was the first disgrace the esteemed masons of
the Lavethian empire had ever tasted. Haakon and Sareyyed pondered over their
failed plot, but soon came up with a solution. They would attempt to
persuade The Lavethian emperor, Draco, to use his great heritage,
and the holiest of all Lavethian relics, Arkaths sword, to defeat the
raging winds and snapjaw packs in the desert, and claim what rightfully
belonged to the Lavethian empire. Haakon, knowing Draco quite well,
met with him and uttered such words: "My liege and step-brother,
we thought of a plan to make the nations flourish, and bring an age
of love and peace upon the realm, but as soon as we began to realize
our intentions, the spirits of the desert crossed our paths, setting
before us winds of great magnitude, and raiding packs of snapjaw hounds,
acting more aggressive than ever. This is clearly remnants of ancient
spirits opposing the descendants of Arkath. What say you, shall we
uphold the honor of the foundations of our history and defeat them,
or shall we sit idly by as every mason in the empire loses their esteem
and confidence, letting everyone know, that the empire in fact, CANNOT
accomplish everything?" Emperor Draco was commanded by ancient rights,
and the heritage of the royal family, to uphold the magnificence
of Arkaths sword, which was claimed to be the ultimate weapon, bestowed
upon the first Lavethian emperors by the great god Arkath himself.
Draco agreed to assist Haakon, and the two made plans to embark on
the journey. In the mean time, Draco assigned Barypona, his sister,
to rule in his stead while he was away. The two flew out, riding
the emperors war dragon, and quickly made their way to the construction
site. Draco drew out his ancient sword, its blade shining bright as if
it was made from the rays of the sun, and began cutting the storms apart,
each of his strikes sending a torrent of magic, which cut through even
the thickest clouds of the storm. In a matter of hours, the angered
spirits had been quelled, and the snapjaw packs dispersed, as if they
had awoken from a dream. Victorious, the two returned to the capital,
sending forth another stream of craftsmen and masons, to this time
complete the citadel. Somewhere along the line, a problem arose, namely
the citadel lacked a well, its only water source being the water imported
from the surrounding lands. To solve this, Haakon once again sought the
emperors aid, and the emperor provided, using Arkaths sword to force a
vein of water to burst and penetrate the surface, creating a magnificent
location for a well. The craftsmen soon built structures around it, and
began developing a system of plumbing, the head of the project being
Sareyyed, who also proposed the idea of sewers along with the plumbing.
After 14 years, the project was finished, and the citadel was named
Sharwa, in honor of the head of the projects, Sareyyed, who also provided
a large sum of the money needed to make it all possible. Sharwa instantly
became a hub for trade and wealth. In some time, Sareyyed devised a method
to effectively take advantage of the plumbing, and natural heat sources,
creating the first public baths, which soon became the main attraction of
the city. Haakon would be granted ownership of Sharwa, and Sareyyed would
be appointed its minister, granting the two extended amounts of power and
wealth. Upon Haakons suggestion, Sareyyed devised an arena more grand than
even the colosseum in Lavethia, and it only looked greater when finished.
As a champion of the Bariphoroi, Haakon had boiling blood within him, and
couldnt hide his excitement when he saw the arena. Haakon called upon all
members of the bariphoroi family to heed his call, and settle into the arena,
granting them a bigger and better station than they ever could have in the
colosseum of Lavethia. Sareyyed also began construction of a brand new academy,
both for military education and knowledge of magic. Into the academy, he also
built a grand library, which descended down into the earth at least as far as
a hundred floors, each floor filled with endless shelves, into which scrolls
of knowledge and books of magic could be stored. Upon Sareyyeds suggestion,
Haakon invoked an edict, demanding that every book or scroll brought through
the gates of Sharwa would be copied, stored, and the original piece returned to
its owner. Compared to the academy in Sharwa, the old academy in Lavethia looked
like an embarrassment, and soon enough, most of the mages relocated themselves
into Sharwa academy. Sareyyed also was promoted as the headmaster of the academy,
as he was the one to begin the project, and soon enough, so many books had flown
into the library that Sareyyed could walk down the endless stairs, and find knowledge
of anything he could ever wish for. Sareyyed began developing an interest in
magic, and while Haakon triumphed in the arena, displaying his enormous bulk
almost every day, Sareyyed spent just as much time reading, and aquiring new
knowledge. He became fully aquainted with the history and forefathers of Lavethia,
Altavia and the Relantian nations. His ever growing fascination of the possibilities
magic provided made him issue the construction of secret research facilities
deep under the last floor of the grand library. Sareyyed was able to turn many
mages to his cause, and they began conducting all sorts of experiments for him,
while he himself too learned magic, bit by bit. With the prosperity of the realm,
the library became abundant, the academy began overflowing with mages and cadets,
the arena became the hub for bariphoroi, who grew into the thousands. It was
fairly easy for Haakon and Sareyyed to see their growing power. Both had great
ambitions, but where Haakon aspired to become Emperor of Lavethia, Sareyyed
was a deeper thinker, and kept his ideas to himself, only discussing the
material plans with Haakon, about Haakons ascension to the throne. Haakon was
easily convinced, as he and Sareyyed had been partners for almost 20 years,
making Haakon view Sareyyed as his closest and perhaps only friend. Sareyyed
told Haakon to begin training the Bariphoroi harder, and double the strain
one such warrior had to bear. Meanwhile, Sareyyed delved deeper into the
depths of knowledge, and found out the differences of Lavethian and Altavian
magic. The Altavians had always claimed their magic to be pure and honest,
coming from the very base of the soul. Sareyyed, however, discovered that
Altavians conduct their own energies through their bodies to produce fenomenon,
which they called magic spells. The spells, in turn, each would have effects,
the more powerful ones putting a greater strain on the Altavian caster, draining
him of his power over the usage of spells. The Altavian caster would feel
more and more exhaustion, until their body would collapse, any greater spell
would result in depletion and finally death. The Lavethians, however, lacked
that ability, and instead, used external conductors, often meaning staves,
or enchanted equipment, to channel their inner energies and cause magical
results. The Lavethian style of magic made sense to Sareyyed, as it was almost
a direct hint to the Legend of Arkath, and, to some extent, explained why the
Altavians had called Arkaths sword the "Usurpers blade", meaning the Altavians
had thought their own magic to be older and superior, and that of Lavethia as
nothing more than a farce. Sareyyed found out that the 100 year war was more
than just empires fighting for land and power, as he gained access to ancient
scrolls that explained the thoughts the Altavian nobles had given to their emperor
a century back. Sareyyeds extended knowledge of the arts and different magic
allowed him to slowly conduct the project that would later shake every people
on the continent, namely "The scepter of life". Sareyyed bought the loyalties
of a hand-picked squad of Bariphoroi, and formed his first team of treasure
hunters. The treasure hunters would secretly defile ancient graves and tombs
left behind by both the ancestors of Lavethians and Altavians. While his capable
crew fetched him relics and artifacts, Sareyyed himself further deepened his
knowledge of magic, quickly becoming an arch-mage, knowledgeable in both Lavethian
and Altavian ways of magic. He developed a sense for magic power, and evaluated
each relic and artifact personally, deeming which items still possessed power
left behind by the previous owners who used those items. The items that were
deemed useful were stripped down to the base of bared magic, which was, in turn
focused into the scepter that was being developed. He used his own powers and
the powers of his acolytes to build more facilities under the library, creating
a thick labrynth of rooms and facilities. Soon enough, half of the acolytes didnt
even need to venture above, as they started becoming self sufficient, except for
food, of course. Even this didnt satisfy Sareyyed, and once his scepter was finished,
he used his honed Altavian techniques, and Lavethian recipes to temper the scepter,
causing it to become a self sufficient relic, both generating its own power and
conducting the power of its user, this also granted the scepter a will of its
own, a will that bent only for its master, Sareyyed. The scepter conducted
the power of its master, and amplified it with its own, to allow Sareyyed
a taste of unlimited power. Sareyyed felt as if the world was in his reach, and
singlehandedly carved ten great halls all descending down in tiers under the
research facilities, the great halls became a wonder to gaze upon, and magical
crystals, formed by pouring magic into the earth and compressing it at the same
time, lit up the ceilings of every floor, some even varying in color.
The halls were filled with all who were loyal to Sareyyed, and he became
the living god of his followers, establishing a cult that quickly took the whole
collection of nations into its grips. Aside from the carved features he formed
with his scepter, Sareyyed also commanded the formation of fountains, lava pools,
and fortified the halls, creating a collection of halls that looked more supernatural
than anything anyone ever wouldve seen. With his secret cult growing more and more,
Sareyyed invented a new type of runes, which he called "Blood runes". Inspired
from ancient, forbidden rights, the blood runes were words of command just like
any other type of runes, but had one critical difference, namely, instead of
commanding an object, the blood runes would command a creature, or person, unleashing
the internal energies one held inside, resulting in a mindless minion, devoid
of emotion, pain or fear, heeding only its masters command. Sareyyed knew he
was ready to take on the world, and on the next day, summoned Haakon into his
office. He offered Haakon the chance to taste unlimited power, and the power to
crush any who would stand in his way of becoming emperor. Haakon was easily fooled
by Sareyyeds sweet lies, and kneeled, surrendering himself to him. Sareyyed struck
Haakon with a torrent of magic, and claimed his mind. Haakon released a few panicked
screams of pain as his mind was corrupted, and eventually, his struggles ceased.
A red, circular rune formation appeared on Haakons forehead, his body turned into
steel, a torrent of dark magic surrounding him as he stood up, looking to his
new master. Sareyyed did the same to both his team of assassins and his team of
grave robbers, also choosing 4 bariphoroi soldiers to be corrupted as well, eventually
leaving him with 13 corrupted minions, each powerful in their own way. A few
moments later, Sareyyed used Haakon to murder Barypona, thus beginning his terror.
Sareyyed assigned Haakon to lead the three thousand bariphoroi warriors,
placing the 4 corrupted bariphoroi minions into their ranks to supervise and
discipline them. He called upon his acolytes and formed an army of mages reaching
to a total of four thousand. Combined with the force of the Bariphoroi,
Sareyyed declared himself the one true master of the world, ceized power
over Sharwa, and declared war on the rest of the world. The Altavian empire,
still carrying grudges against the Lavethians, ignored and forsaked their
many promises and sided with Sultan Sareyyed, driving the land into two
sides once more. The Lavethian empire called upon the Relantian nations, and the
two factions merged, becoming the only coalition which rose up against Sultan
Sareyyed and the Altavian empire. Sareyyed had taken away mostly every Bariphoroi
warrior, depriving the Relantian empire of its strongest infantry, he also had forced
most mages and cadets to become his acolytes, depriving Lavethia of most of its
mages, despite the few hundred that escaped and joined the Lavethians. For the next
20 years, the desolace became scarred, its once beautiful dunes being turned into
mass graveyards for both Lavethians, Relantians, Altavians and followers of Sareyyed.
Over the time, Sareyyed and the Altavian empire had had the upper hand, and had
pushed the Lavethians back behind Lavethian walls, destroying or capturing any
other castle that was not yet taken, only leaving the Lavethians with their beloved
capital. The Relantians were also pursued to great extents, and most nations and
colonies were destroyed, both by ground forces and flying squadrons of altavians.
This, however, still didnt stop the Relantians, as their hatred for Sareyyed and
the Altavians only grew. The Relantian riders had mostly been killed off, but
small regiments of lightly armored Relantian infantry scouted the deserts, and
engaged enemy outposts all over the desolace, becoming a notable nuisance to
Sareyyeds followers and the Altavians, so much even that they were dubbed as
"The Wraiths of desolation", for their ability to organize quick strikes, and then
disappear into the desert whence they came, leaving little to no trace. Eventually,
Sareyyed thought up an assassination plan. From the moment he had turned Haakon into
a mindless minion, he used him to get rid of Barypona, and now had to worry about
the other two royal family members, namely the emperor, and his sister. Sareyyed
ordered his four corrupted assassins to sneak into Lavethia, and murder the royal
family, knowing that it would deliver a decisive blow to the morale of the people.
While the assassins were making their way towards Lavethia, a regiment of Relantian
raiders ambushed a small force, in which one of the 4 corrupted Bariphoroi was
resting. The battle was intense, and in the end, only five Relantians remained,
facing off the corrupted champion. Four of the relantians were wounded, but alive,
yet powerless before the dark champion, the fift, however, despite his wounds, stood,
defiant against the darkness he was facing. At the same time, the Lavethian emperor
was stabbed 26 times by Sareyyeds assassins within his own bed, killed before he
could reach for his magic sword. The emperors sister, Therana, happened to stumble
upon the gruesome sight, and was shot down by an arrow from one of the assassins.
Back at the duel between the Relantian and the corrupted Bariphoroi, the young
warrior fought bravely, but to no avail, being tossed back time and time again
from the mighty and mercilless strikes of the corrupted champion. In the final
moments, the champion picked the warrior up, gripping his throat and strangling
him, lifting him into the air as the Relantian warriors brethren watched, helpless
to stop the corrupted champion from slaying their brother-in-arms. The relantian
warrior, despite his struggles, became weaker and weaker, his squirming eventually
ceased and his body became numb, his eyes rolling back as he let out a deathly
groan, his last breaths of life being pulled out. His brethren wept, quenching their
fists, trying as hard as they could to force themselves up. Then, as the dark
champion was just about to toss the defeated relantian away to finish off his
brethren, he felt a sudden, strong pulse course through the relantians veins.
The relantian came back to life, turning his head as his fiery, bewildered eyes
stared deep into the champions. The relantians body tensed up, every single vein
bulging as his claws became slightly larger, emerging further from the tip of his
fingers, causing them to bleed as well. The relantian, in one quick motion, wrapped
his now enlargened hands around the thick neck of the corrupted Bariphoroi warrior,
squeezing so tight he wouldve forced a normal persons head to pop clean off.
The dark champion did all he could, tightening his grip around the relantians
throat, but to no avail. The relantian was in berserk, devoid of any pain. He
let forth a quaking roar that tore through the body of the corrupted champions
curse, and forced up the first emotion the champion could feel, fear. The relantian
had broken through the warriors mentality, and in the heat of the moment, wrapped
his jaws around the head of the champion, and crushed it with his teeth, along with
the blood runes that brandished the warriors forehead. The relantian stood over his
crushed enemy, breathing heavily as the corrupter warriors hands released his throat
and fell to the ground. Then, a flash of light emerged, and the sky above them
suddenly began thundering, dark clouds forming out of nowhere. Lightning bolts began
combing the ground around them, and then, as if unified, struck into the relantian
warrior, continuously zapping him as he became a link between the ground and sky.
The lightning slowly raised the relantian into the air, and red aura began flowing
out of the slayed bariphoroi champion, beginning to sap into the relantians wounds.
The relantian screamed out in both rage and torment, bright glowing runes appearing
onto his whole body, covering his upper body and limbs as if the gods had painted
him themselves. The thunder ceased, and the Relantian was tossed against the ground.
When he rose, he was larger, stronger looking, and more fearsome than ever before,
the glowing runes on his body calming down, and returning into a blood red color.
Struck by awe, his brethren rose up, rushing to inspect the newly transformed Relantian
champion. That night, Sareyyed saw a dream in his sleep, where he witnessed his own
weapon, the blood runes, being used against him, and the rise of a relantian warrior,
more terrifying than a thousand storms, using the very runes to end him.
Already being an old man, Sareyyed became paranoid, beginning to withdraw troops
from the corners of the world, ordering them to return to their capital, Sharwa,
and defend their liege. News began spreading of an invincible relantian warrior,
his torso and limbs covered in scars and blood red runes, tearing his enemies
apart with his bare hands, bathing in their blood as he laughed and sang lines
about vengeance and divine retribution. While Sultan Sareyyed was pulling his own
troops back, he put a bounty on the relantian warriors head, promising "endless
heaps of gold" to any who would bring his head to him. As he fortified Sharwa
with the troops he pulled back, he began throwing more and more orders at the
Altavians, demanding they put an end to the Relantians once and for all. In his
peak, Sareyyed became gripped by madness and fear, suspecting even his closest
associates with plots they never intended to commit. He began indicting state
officials for treason on a daily basis, soon even locking himself into his
lowest hall, fearful of being greeted by the Relantian champion the moment hed set
foot out of his castle. Meanwhile, the Lavethians got on the offensive again, rallying
to gather forces and fight despite their loss of the royal family. In desperation to
keep things together, the Lavethian generals formed a confederacy, creating a
senate that comprised of the generals in the empire, each major issue being
solved through a collective vote, every general voting, officially starting the
beginning of the Lavethian confederacy. After the creation of the confederacy, the
Lavethian generals rushed to combine forces with the Relantians once again, rallying
to fight the Altavian forces while Sultan Sareyyed began burrowing deeper and deeper
into Sharwa. Not long after, the Altavian forces were vanquished and Altavia was
captured, half of its population along with the Altavian royal family being put
to the sword. The Relantians hated the Altavians so much they didnt want to
spend another moment by their side, and quickly marched on, towards Sharwa.
The Lavethian generals, however, were unable to conclude on who would receive
ownership over Altavia, as every general voted for himself, and a few weeks later,
arguments escalated to the point of different Lavethian armies killing each others
on the field, due to arguments between different generals. While the indecisive
Lavethian generals battled each other, the Altavians elected a new Emperor, and
solved the case, immediately signing a peace contract with the Lavethians and
Relantians as well. As the Lavethians didnt claim ownership of Altavia in the end,
the generals turned their sights on Sharwa, and began marching to catch up with
the Relantian forces. Meanwhile, Sultan Sareyyed was growing ever more paranoid,
knowing that his nightmare was about to come true. He called upon the full force
of his scepter of life, its large gem turning blood red, as dark clouds surrounded
the skies above Sharwa. He began chanting words of power into the air, and a storm
erupted in the city, coursing through the streets, blasting sand through houses,
summoning hordes of desert predators, insects and snakes to end the lives of his
subjects. Eventually, Sultan Sareyyed died from the exhaustion the scepter caused
him, but its gem flashed once, and he rose up again, becoming reanimated into an
undead. Sareyyed swung his staff, reanimating his whole kingdom within the borders
of Sharwa, he then caused a mighty earthquake, forcing half of the city to be burrowed
into the desert sand. Then, Sareyyed called upon terrible storms and sand spirits to
surround the borders of his kingdom with impenetrable sand storms, and unforgiving
heat. He cast runes upon the pets of his subjects, forcing them to reanimate and grow
into freakish beasts, only intent on tasting the blood of the living. The combined
forces of the Lavethian confederacy, and the Relantian warbands eventually reached
the borders of Sareyyeds realm, and saw how it was guarded by impenetrable storms
and treacherous paths, sharp turns and narrow slopes, that would spell death to anyone
who slipped. No matter how hard they tried, the armies couldnt find a good way to
get to Sharwa, and after 2 years, gave up and returned to their homelands. Sultan
Sareyyed would, to this day, dwell in his own prison, trapped in a rotting body,
always alert and paranoid about the impending doom the relantian warrior from his
nightmares would bring. The Relantian champion, according to legend, passed his
mighty spear on to a relantian chieftain, and was then taken to heaven by a great
flying chariot, adorned by gold and jewels, with a trail of lightning tailing right
behind it as it flew. The Lavethians were never able to make up their minds on a
new royal family, and signed a pact, declaring that all Lavethian generals, from
that day onward to the end of the world, would declare loyalty to whomever would be
chosen by Arkaths sword, and deem the person as the new Lavethian emperor. Atkaths
sword, however, was moved to the old Lavethian academy of magic arts, where it stays
locked up under the most fortified seals to this day. The Altavian empire quickly
found order, and began a quick regrowth to equal its once great might. Almost two
centuries passed, and we reach to where we are now. Eventually, the Altavian empire
declared war against the Lavethian confederacy, the Relantians joined the side of
Lavethians, and the new war has been raging on for the past 14 years. All sides
seem to be equally matched, and no success has favored either side. The leaders of
both sides began to look for desperate answers, eventually coming upon the ancient
chronicles about the Tyranny of the Dark Sultan Sareyyed, and his staff of life,
along with the legend of the forbidden Blood runes. Both factions began trying to
intrude the extremely inhospitable ancient region they now call "Sareyyeds rest",
building outposts to try and create a rigging of supplies, to allow expeditions
into the forbidden city, and brave the dangers that lie in wait inside Sharwa and
its endless dungeons. Meanwhile, traces have been found of the existance of an
ancient race of short, furry, humanoids with thick bodies and limbs, with the most
ancient texts referring to them as the "Guardians of the heart of the world". So
far, only Altavians have taken an interest in the ancient race, and remain as the
only ones to make expeditions further into the desolace to find out more about
the supposed guardians, but it wont be long before the Lavethians decide to do
the same. The fate of the whole world depends on the events of the future, either
by one of the sides aquiring the staff of life, or finding out the secret behind
the supposed heart of the world.

Toggle Rules

Rules:
  1. No powerplaying, as in being skilled at everything, and taking hits like a tank, you can and will suffer from attacks, attacks will most certainly damage you, armor will reduce that damage, but dont get too cocky. Dodging may be popular, but its more costly than blocking or parrying, so keep that in mind, and lack of armor does NOT give you some divine right to dodge everything just because youre supposed to be fast.
  2. Dont be strong from the beginning. NPC-s will be strong, and most likely will be in charge of your OC, so make a weak OC and develop their strength over time.
  3. No metagaming, as in controlling someone else's character, knowing something you shouldn't, just because you were told in OOC, or knowing about a person right away.
  4. Money is a resource, and you must take your expenditure and payments, changing your total amount of money whenever you spend or gain money.
  5. Don't argue with the managers, it's pointless. They know the rules. But in the case of a manager being unreasonable and misusing their power, report it to the other manager.
  6. Listen to the managers, just because one says no, doesn't mean you go to another to ask, unless the manager is being unreasonable, if that happens, the managers will think it out.
  7. Don't troll or troll rp, please just rp seriously, and try to fit your words and thoughts into one post, otherwise youll be held responsible for both trolling and spamming the chat, only making your situation worse.
  8. Don't constantly use abbreviations (wtf, wth, u, y, etc, it is very likely you know how to spell "you" and other things), spell things out, and if you can't spell it, try your best.
  9. Some managers will be strict, so please don't take it the wrong way, or complain when they are, its rarely personal.
  10. Respect other members.
  11. You get 3 warnings with breaking rules, 1 you are scolded, 2 you are threatened with being booted, 3 you are booted and your bio is deleted, if you rejoin and break a rule again, you are permanently booted.
  12. Most importantly, you can't spawn supplies, only the GM(s) can spawn supply and control what rooms spawn ect ect. If you violate this rule what you found will be revoked.
  13. The standard etiquette of rp applies in every rp group, and you should know what it means.
  14. Dont exaggerate when making your biography, start out weak and advance through the roleplay, nobody likes a sore egoist who creates an op bio just because he/she cant settle with any less.
  15. 1 main bio allowed, any other characters must be secondaries or NPC-s.
  16. No godmodding, this means no dodging or blocking everything, being stronger than everyone automatically, having godly traits, etc.
  17. You cannot insta-kill. Kills can only be ordered by a manager(when i tell you that you cant dodge this attack logically, and must take the hit. Sometimes, this means the death of your character) or committed when the owners of both OC-s agree to it.
  18. Death should be common in the roleplay, as it is only natural for things to go wrong and end someones life. Death can also most certainly happen to your character if youre being too rash or jump into a dangerous situation without first thinking of the consequences. Dont begin wailing when a manager orders the death of your character, because when they do, it means you tried to do too much (for instance, dodge a strike from a difficult position, such as being in the air), and the manager tells you to take the hit(that might mean death if the hit is powerful or aimed enough).
  19. Dont bring personal matters into the rp, your character must have a mind and personality of their own, this also means active shipping is frowned upon. Id also suggest allowing the character to act as you created them to act, rather than being a tempest of your own feelings. Examples of this: Your oc meets the oc of someone you dislike, and you make your character instantly ignore or outright hate the other oc despite having little to no interaction whatsoever. This also applies to romance, make it look like the real thing, not something you two agreed upon and tossed into the rp.

Sareyyeds rest.

Hello and welcome to Sareyyeds rest. Any questions you might have should be posted here. Ill try to reply as soon as i can.

Sareyyeds rest follows a timeline which defines the relationship between the people in the desolace.

The Lavethians live in a republic, and their chain of command consists of many different generals vying for power in the senate, which settles all matters of state and warfare. The Lavethians are allied to the Relantians and at war with the Altavians. Lavethia is more or less the most powerful nation, rivaling only the Altavian empire. The capital of this nation is Lavethia.

The Relantian nations is a collection of Relantian tribes, which have conglomerated into one territory in the desolace, and made their own government. The relantians rely on a democratic form of government, much similar to the senate of the Lavethian republic, but more primitive. Each Relantian pack elects a leader, and every collection of packs elects a chief. Then, all chiefs are summoned to the circle to settle disputes or plan ahead new war campaigns. The relantian nations are less advanced and less powerful than the Lavethian republic and Altavian empire, but they are still a force to be reckoned with. The capital of the Relantian nations is Aracana.

The Altavian empire is the homeland of the Altavian elves. Their way of government is an absolutist monarchy, which is ruled by their emperor. The Altavian emperor has absolute power over his subjects, and he is served directly by the nobles of Altavia. Altavians put much importance into legacy and prestige, making them a rather uptight people, as they find no respect in dealing with "inferior" races peacefully. The Altavian empire is at war with the Lavethian republic and the Relantian nations. As the Relantians were once a colony race of the Altavians, the Altavians are eager to restore things back to the way they were. They carry a deep hatred for all lavethians, and seek to destroy them completely. The altavian capital is Altavia.
