The Castle

Jackie smiled and gently shut the door. Blinking to herself, she went to her bed, slowly laying down, not even bothering to put on a blanket, for the room felt neither cold or hot to her. She smiled to herself as she laid there. Despite of today's events, it wasn't so bad. She was disappointed that even the King didn't come to her rescue, or at least send someone to her. She rolled on her side with a sigh, then closed her eyes, "No way Jackie." she scolded herself, "You can't think of anyone else that way but the king..right? Even if he left when he was most needed.. I can't grow fond of another even so.... I'm not given that kind of option.."

Sapphire sighed to herself and groaned in defeat when she realized Travis fell asleep, "Manami...Evangerline..please don't fall asleep too..It'll make me even more tired.." she whined, rubbing her eyes, trying to keep herself awake, but nevertheless her eyes remained heavy, making it hard for her to keep her conciousness.

Evangerline giggle sligtly and smile at Sapphire. "I've just had some sleep, I fell asleep after we found Jackie, so I'm feeling fine, so I can watch you both" she smile. "Only if you want of course.." she looked at Travis, and smild, she didn't know that Vampires slept, or looked almost the same age as them, she had always assumed that they lookd older than her. She couldn't imagine being stuck like this forever, and was glad that she never had to.

Silver sat calmly in the hallway waiting. She continued to pet Cross's sleeping figure, which was laying across her lap at present. When she heard Vlad's voice, she looked up and smiled just a little. She shook Cross, who only snored loudly. She sighed at this and queitly responded to Vlad's question,

"I don't particularly know. Time scares me, so I try not to keep track of it." She wiggled a little and Cross rolled off of her. She stood; brushing fur off of herself before continuing, "Though I took a short nap and talk to an Evangerline. She seemed nice enough. But I need to ask you for a favor... One I think you might be more than happy to help with. You see, I don't always come up with the smartest plans, but the ones I do come up with usually work." She sighed and kicked Cross softly. He snored once more before opening his eyes and looking at her. He then rolled over, making her sigh for another time. She looked at Vlad with a serious glance now, dropping the fear that clung in the back of her mind.

"Jackie can't go through this alone. I need you to turn me into a vampire."

Vlad raised an eyebrow honestly caught in surprise. He managed to regain his composure, and tapped his chin thinking with a soft hmm. Glancing her over, he shook his head “Sorry, no can do. Little gain, lot of risk. That and the Queen would have my head” if emphasized this by drawing a finger across his neck.

“It’s a noble thought Lady Tora, but a foolish one. I cannot help you turn yourself into a monster. I refuse” That and it was true, too much risk not enough gain, he did not spend hundreds of years setting up the new future to throw it away now.

Silver looked up and sighed. She would have to find another way. She sighed and decided to attempt one more time with this.

"Look... I know this doesn't make much since to you, but I have to do this. Jackie is my only real friend. And she's also the queen. As the queen, that makes her 100 times more important than I am, as I'm just some silly little girl who can't get over her fear enough to leave her house most days. When it comes down to it, what the queen needs is always more important than that of one of the random town goers. And right now, she needs support. If someone else can do it, so can she. I know Jackie, she won't want to hurt us, no matter what. And I know well enough to know what she will do to herself if she gets to upset. If I can do it, then so can she!I don't really care what happens to me... So as a favor, please... This is really the only thing I'm able to do for her..." Silver looked to Cross. Her eyes water a little. There was no way she would just give up on this. Jackie was all she had, and so be it, she would do anything to protect her. Cross looked at her and sat up, he looked at Vlad next. Silver sighed and finished.

"If you don't do it... I guess I can find another way..."

Vlad paused and spoke softly “have you ever thought about the bigger picture? Once the people find out the queen is a vampire what do you think will happen? The shock will turn to disgust and she may be able to erase that over time, but what do you think would happen if her friends started turning? The people would grow fearful and perhaps a revolt would spread. The road to hell is paved by good intentions, Lady Tora. You are stronger than you appear”

Vlad smiled and turned to walk down the hallway “Help the queen the best you can as you are. Don’t change, don’t charge in blindly. Support her from the side that is all friends can do. If you insist on this than perhaps other vampires will be willing to take your offer up.”

Silver sighed softly and nodded her head. He had his points. Then again... She wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone who tried to revolt. Though, Jackie might not like that very much. She petted Cross on the head, deciding somewhere to think a little more before deciding. She looked around, trying to think of what to do, before suddenly remembering that Evangerline had invited her to come sit by the fire. She smiled a little, deciding it was best to take up that offer. It would be... less lonely. She laughed to herself, recalling that lonely was her way of life. She turned patting her leg for Cross to come.

"I'll think on the idea Count. I don't know for sure... But I'll think. It's all I can do... I'm going to go downstairs, Evangerline invited me to come meet the others. If you like, I doubt they'd mind another... Also, do you care if I just call you Vlad? I'm not very good with titles and what not." She turned her head to Vlad, smiling only a little. Cross jumped on her as she was about to speak again, knocking her down. She sighed and looked at the dog with a depressed look. "Good boy..."

"Jackie can't go through this alone. I need you to turn me into a vampire."

Jackie's eyes widened, she felt her entire being freeze stiff, and she tried to convince herself that Silver had said any other word. It couldn't be true, Silver was probably afraid of Vampirism, or blood, or something to do with it. She was afraid of too much to become like Jackie or Vlad. She couldn't help but overhear, seeing as her hearing stretched much further than it had the day before. She waited for Vlad's answer, he wouldn't accept her request..would he? She sighed to herself, even if it was her request which came first, what held him obligation to hold hers over well, fresh blood?

She felt a small smile creep to her features when she heard the next line however, “Sorry, no can do. Little gain, lot of risk. That and the Queen would have my head”

Jackie almost laughed to herself and she finally had the will to stretch out of the bed, sleep was going to be almost impossible at this point, but she really didn't mind it. She didn't feel the least bit tired, "I guess it has it's perks.." she whispered to herself, going over to her wall, and slipping behind a tapistry. One would think it led to the tapistry room, but in this case, it did not.

Vlad smiled and bowed "You may call me whatever you wish Lady Tora. This is not my country, nor am I citizen in this one until the marriage is consummated. So I am merely Vlad here, but I am afraid I must head to bed, as it is very early in the morning and vampires need their beauty sleep, so please excuse my absence Lady Tora"

Bowing once more, he turned on his heel and walked quickly to his room, he had to reassess the situation. Things were... changing to drastically for the Counts taste, it wasnt going to plan.

Jackie slipped through the narrow hallway gracefully, she only used this hallway once before, upon the challenge to find as many passage ways as one could, one of Manami's games of course. She came to the end of it, pushing on the wall which soon popped out, leading into the hall that the tapistry Manami always used to enter the tapistry room. Jackie forgot to inform them about something she knew they'd enjoy. She skipped to the second tapistry, making her way through this secret passage as well.

She walked in on a sleeping Travis, a tired Sapphire, Manami and Evangerline, "I was going to inform you all....We're having a masqurade ball in a few days.." she said with a grin, but hiding her fangs from sight. She didn't want to scare anyone. She herself hadn't even seen her own fangs.

((OOC: I'm with Vlad, I can't post much either.... I'm going to Tennessee 8AM Saterday- 8PM Sunday....))

Evangerline looked up as Jackie walked through the door. She seemed to be okay at least, she though to herself and smiled at Jackie. A masquerade ball...Great....She wanted to be enthusiastic, but she really could not dance at all. There was bound to be alot of people there as well, and she hated to be around them. She also had to look her best, something she did not exactly care for, she would rather be somewhere outside in the garden in stead of dancing. But it was a good idea, and she didn't want to disappoint Jackie. "That sounds marvellous" she said smiling at Jackie.

Manami jolted up, sleepiness forgotten. Masqurade ball! Dresses+ masks+ people+ lights+ good food+ dancing??!! That kind of masqurade?!

She shot towards Jackie, eagerness written all over her. "When is it? Who's coming? What kind of food is there going to be? When can I pick out my dress!?"

Jackie grinned at Evangerline, "Don't worry Eva.. I'll teach you how to dance before the ball.." she reassured her friend, "You know I can, especially after I had to teach my father..twice." she laughed. Her father had always been forgetful. She noticed Manami's excitement and shook her head, at least one of them was enthusiastic.

"It'll be in three days. There will be wine, punch, water, just about anything you can think of and enough food to feed an entire army. I made sure of it... and we can pick out dresses and masks tomorrow!" she winked. Jackie was trying her best to hold in her own excitement. She loooved dancing and entertaining guests.

Evangerline smiled sweetly, "Thanks, Jackie....You know I can't dance at all..." She smiled at Manami as she beamed with happiness, at least it had put her in a good mood and had woken her up. Evangerline tucked her hair behind her ears and stood up stretching, even though she had slept recently, she wanted to wak up more, maybe she should go stroll in the garden. She hoped that would be okay with Jackie, she would be careful to not let any sunlight in, if the worst came t the worst she could climb out the window in her room.

Sapphire wiped her eyes as she heard voices raising, most likely from excitement considering the tone. She sat up, eyes half lidded as she yawned, "So what's going on? I mean...something has to be if you're squealing and yapping so loud.." she grinned, a second yawn escaping her. Her eyes darted around the room, Jackie was now present, "I see you're feeling better Jackie, I'm glad.." she smiled, Sapphire's expression softened as she saw Jackie. Somehow, when Sapphire saw Jackie safe, she allowed herself to be her happiest.

"Too bad I can't dance.." she laughed as she heard them all mentioning the Masqurade ball over and over. Besides, I couldn't dance with a single one of them, so learning wouldn't do me any good.." she added, letting her head drop backwards over the arm of the chair she was in.
