Description

Full Name: Issac Schofield

Nicknames/Aliases: Bravo

Age: 37

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Post/Rank: Fighter / Small-unit tactics instructor.

Description: Grizzled and covered with scares it's easy to see that life has not been kind to Issac . He's not the most imposing figure , lean and just shy of six feet tall. He keeps his brown hair trimmed neatly to match his facial hair. His general expression is a set jawed stare, one not unlike a prison inmate who caught you eyeing his food, Tho of all his hard features his soft eyes are probably the most striking thing about the man, the clear blue orbs give a striking contrast to the rest of the otherwise dark man.

Personality: Issac is a task oriented person , Task is asked, task is completed correctly in a timely manner.
He's a solider through and through and accepts his orders with little question. The rare occasions he questions orders it is usually backed by years of experience.

Inside SCION he's not exactly the most friendly but nor is he outwardly rude or hateful to the newer members, unless training calls for it.

He's got a very soft spots for kids, changing quickly from the "grumpy old man" to a goof ball, this is due to his time spent in South Africa.

Skills:

Hand to hand / bladed combat : Issac spent years studying hand to hand combat before joining the U.S. Military and later the CIA where he mastered SOC-P and became adapt at other marital arts.

Marksmen : Be it long guns or sub-compact pistols Issac is well trained in all things that go bang. He placed third in the Wimbledon cup for long range marksmanship.

Explosives expert : He has a civilian and military grade explosives licenses.

Repelling/ freehand climber: Mountain climbing or Urban repelling Issac has had a hand at it enough to repell or rig on his own if need be.

Macgyver mindset: field craft and finding odd ways of utilizing his surroundings is arguably Issac's best weapon.
Working understanding of magic:

Weaknesses: Aside from being Human Issac swears his "honor" will be the death of him. He says this because of how he reacts to women and children caught in conflict , nearly ignoring self preservation to ensure that they remain safe.

Brief History:
After graduating from high school Issac joined the U.S Armed forces as a D 19 Calvary scout and was deployed in 2003 during the invasion of Iraq , after returning home he was contracted by the CIA to become a Paramilitary Operations Officers. As a P.O.O he was inc charge of keeping the area destabilized until further action was required, this ranged from weapons trafficking , training militia's , and occasionally wet work. After about ten years of this and earning the Distinguished Intelligence Cross, twice, Issac "retired".

He was actually dismissed due to physiological concerns the CIA had They claimed it was a combination of PTSD , delusions , visual and audio hallucinations and a few violent outburst while in the office. However with a few strings pulled Issac kept his name officially on the CIA's payroll.
The attacked were due to Issac's contact with the Paranormal during his operations, ranging from a Vampire coven hiding in the wilds of Africa to werewolves attempting to devour villages. He was contacted by SCION shortly after his "retirement".

So begins...

"I figured you might have wanted a safer life for your brother is all Spire, going off to chase god knows what through god knows where isn't exactly safe, but I'm sure you understand that better than most giving your situation." He said taking a random left turn, He'd take this path around for about 15 minutes before taking another random turn.

" That and I had asked you all to avoid things like that, not that it meant much, me asking and all. Since you forced me to intervene I lost my best lead on a human trafficking chain, after the apparent assault on one of their lower end suppliers they closed up shop and vanished." Frustration leaked into Issac's voice. "Sure you might have saved a handful of folks, and even avenged some; but now they are most likely working else where in the world. So how much good have you really done?" he spoke in a matter-o-fact tone.

He went back to a more guarded tone,as if trying not to be so abrasive. " It's not that I don't admire the spark you two have. It's just that you don't have any connection to what's going on. "He prodded.
Issac had a few intentions for this whole speech, mainly to try and ruffle some feathers and see if Spire's pride was a weak point. Secondly he was trying to keep the boys attention on him rather than the road.

" Luck can only save your skin so many times." He took a right turn, still heading in away from the safe-house.

Overhearing Oren Issac glanced at the rear view mirror. " Do we need to make a pit stop or just keep heading home?"

“Just lift her, Maddie. It’ll be faster.” Christina glanced around nervously, expecting their location to be uncovered any minute now, especially with Rafael’s dramatic exit. “And just give me a second.” She ran to the car and cast again, protecting the interior before conjuring a sheet. The last, especially, pulled at her reserves and she caught herself against the door. “Let’s just get out of here. Quickly.”

The sorceress took Madison’s suggestion and shifted the stuff in the back to make room for both herself and the cryptid, then settled in. She was still eavesdropping on thoughts as well, and she drew out her phone once more, sending Oren and Issac a few updates on Spire and Toby before they sped out of range. “Yeah, there were a few issues
” she looked at Madison. “I’ll complain later, when it’s a better time, though.” As she spoke her hands moved up to rub at her temples.

When Spire was on his game, he was a very difficult man to ruffle. Issac had, however, touched the most successful sore spot--not his pride, but his brother.

"If I could convince him to stay out of it, trust me, I would," Spire said.

"Okay," mumbled Toby under his breath from the backseat. "Just k--keep talking about me like I'm not here. Whatever. It's all good."

Spire glanced back. "And he can handle himself," he added a bit more warmly. He didn't add more. People tended to underestimate Toby, and it was probably better to let them keep underestimating him.

"As for the operation...sorry about that. Some of us don't always have the resources to wait around to go after the kingpin, my friend," Spire said. "We just have to settle for making the world a better place... one branch of a human trafficking vampire coven at a time." He smiled, thrumming his fingers on the rest in the door. "Now. Is there a reason you're zig-zagging or do you need me to pull up a map for you? Please. If you're trying to keep us from knowing where you're taking us, you at least ought to blindfold us first."

Not easily rattled? Hmm maybe he had grown up a little. Issac picked up on the sore spot being his brother and chose to use that a little more. " Sounds like you don't know how to convince someone if it doesn't suit your needs. Not that I don't doubt he can handle him self , but you know how Murphy is." He yawned a bit, driving straight on for a good while.

" Paranoid much? It couldn't be I'm watching for a tale or anything could it? I mean a bio-hazard unit arrives just moments after we do , on a case that might as well be highly classified. I trust you both enough to do what is best for you two, and currently that is to hang around us. " He went on, checking his mirrors again both for police or the make-believe tail. , before flipping on his right blinker, than turning left. One thing Issac had learned it was easy to follow a good driver, not an idiot.

" As for the black bag, we can do that if you really want, tho you can't sit in the front seat anymore." He teased.

"Yes. Continue to talk about me like I'm not here," Toby said under his breath with a weak, wry smile. Not that he wasn't used to it. Spire had a way of commanding conversations. Oren's talk of a newly turned vampire kept him on edge--partially because the number of names bring thrown around continued to indicate a larger and larger organization, but mostly because he knew a new vampire's instinct to feed was difficult to curb.

"Or maybe my own brother would know me too well to fall for my particular style of persuasive reasoning," Spire said to Issac, making a sound somewhere between a scoff and a laugh. He had plenty of personality flaws, oh, plenty, but a temper had never been among them. Quite the opposite of exploding with hot anger, Spire tended to get frosty when someone picked at the wrong sore. Or he would just slice their throats, if the situation allowed. But that wasn't really an option right now.

The implication that he would intentionally keep Toby in danger because it suited his purposes, or furthermore that he might try to manipulate him, were the wrong sores. Issac was quickly sliding down the scale from neutral to dislike.

Conversely, Spire's growing dislike didn't show on his face for long. "Or maybe we're both adrenalin junkies and we just share a mutual disregard for Murphy's law. We'll pass on the black bag, if that's alright," he said cheerfully, not buying that they had a tail for half a second. He paid a backward glance at Oren. "Sounds like you have bigger problems to deal with than making this a proper kidnapping."

Issac's face darkened for a moment. The news about Arc bothered him greatly, but a cynical chuckled rumbled out of him when Oren talked about being talked down to by someone else who had no business talking down to them. He had said that this mission was hastily thrown together at best since the start and the flaws of the team design were showing greatly. He'd talk to Oren about it later tho. Paranoid or not Issac thought that there was a higher hand in this than just their bosses, and he didn't like what cards they had been handing the staff. Toby's statement brought him out of his thoughts.

" Sorry toby, just poking at your brother a bit, after all it's been a while since i've seen the both of you. " Issac admitted , smiling a bit. Having caught the twitch of irritation from Spire Issac went on , " Forgive an old man of his bad habits. "

Seeing that this line of conversation wasn't going to be fruitful Issac dropped it at the scoff and went along with the junkie bit.
" Ah fair enough, I do see the appeal I won't lie, got me into this line of work in the first place. " Issac seemed to weight Spires suggestion about the bigger issues.

"Nothing we can do for him here. Besides we have more pressing issues to address when we reach home than what to do with him." Issac said, finally starting to head in the direction of the safe house.

" Spire, Toby, I'll not ask for your weapons , but I will ask that we keep everything civilized, Please?" He asked before getting out of the Van, which had been parked around the back of the Safe house building in a somewhat hidden spot. Issac went a head and pulled out his multi tool01 heading to the back of the van. He removed the license plate and placed it in the back of the van.
He didn't want some police officer to pass by and notice the stolen car, so he took the plate from his rental car and placed it on the van. His rental car could be explained off simply, the van, not so much. Satisfied with his work he went to the safe-house.

Issac marched in behind Oren, wearing his regular passive yet stern expression, ignoring Oren's complains against him. She didn't provide any leadership and blew his suggestion out of proportion, but she was a doctor and probably hadn't been in a situation were cutting off a dead limb would serve better than hanging onto the hope of keeping it. He didn't hold it against her. Issac gave a wave to Alexander and the others. " We've got guest of our own." Issac said with a nod behind him, then gave Alex a warning expression, just for a split second. Not that it was needed Alex tended to error on the side of caution more than not from what little Issac knew of him. He'd not have to worry about Spire or Toby here. Out numbered and out gunned.

Issac paused for a moment seeing Lulu, an eye brow arced in surprise, then offered a smile and a nod as a greeting before heading into the 'Living' room. The smell of food hit him like a piano dropped from a 5 story building. He darted over and swiped a slice before heading off to find a spot to sit down. He'd have to talk to folks in a bit but currently he just wanted to stay out of the medical groups way, after all he only had extensive training in field medical and with Oren and Lovette here there was no need for his skills.

Issac debated on what to do about Arc. He was relatively alone right now facing who knew what. Like or dislike he was part of the group, and more importantly... He knew a good bit about SCION that didn't need to get out, to anyone. He didn't seem to notice the rookies in the room. His mind was busy.

Issac sighed, taking the three brass casings from his pocket and rattled them like dice in his hands. Was he really going to have to be that asshole who kept loose ends tied...? Issac's guarded expression didn't hold up like it normally did...

Before Lulu could respond, a sudden rush of tense voices and new scents assaulted her all at once. People were charging in. Someone was shouting, and being rebuffed, and had a snide remark about her. “Charmed,” she muttered, but she was certain the comment was whisked away by the noise. There were too many people in the little room, with more in the house elsewhere, and now there were
 one, two
three? The vampires aside from herself, and one was cross-dressed, and in his arms was—

Lulu bolted upright in the cot and braced herself against the dizzying consequences of the motion by gripping the side of the mattress.

‹‹That was not right. ‹‹

She should not have been there. That girl— the green-blooded, reeking, days-long-dead girl— should not have been there. ‹‹

For the first time in decades, Lulu was firmly regretting the mess she had stepped into over a contract.

‹‹With a wince and a jerking motion, she yanked first the IV tube, and then the needle out of her arm. The skin tore from the abruptness, but knitted itself back together quickly enough that no severe amount of blood was lost.

She stared at the scene taking place beside the other cot, and her glazed expression evaporated into something between concern and befuddlement. She had too many questions, and there was too much arguing going on to answer any of them. ‹‹The organization was starting to feel more like a carnival by the second.

“What the Hell?” she asked, eyes darting between the various people in the room. “What the Hell?” Her stare settled on Montana for a moment, shining with something she wasn’t sure whether or not to disclose. ‹‹The situation had grown beyond what she had prepared for.

‹‹She made up her mind, hoping the choice was the right one. “That’s her,” she said firmly, nodding toward the bleeding half-corpse. “She was dead. Days ago. I examined her body.” ‹‹

The thing was putrid to look at and share a room with, with a stench that made the vampire’s stomach turn. “She shouldn’t be here. She was dead and...” With that, Lulu shoved herself forward to the edge of the bed and placed her feet on the floor. ‹‹She took two steps toward the creature, but only two: The momentum of her initial motion failed just feet from the bed and her legs gave out like rubber under the effect of the painkillers, and she tumbled toward the ground.

"Scout's honor," said Spire to Issac pleasantly. He had definitely never been a boyscout. Toby had, though. It probably counted.

Spire and Toby exited the car and shared a glance. Spire could catch the scent of vampires and wolves mingling from the doorway.

"A lot," Toby said to Spire's unasked question. A lot of cryptids in there. It made Toby uneasy and Spire suspicious. But they weren't taking their weapons. And this was not only an opportunity to check out these curiosities, this was their lead on the murders. Toby cared enough about the deaths to stifle his unease. And Spire was intrigued enough by this organization to stifle his suspicion. So into the safe house they went, Spire taking the lead, until they found an open place in the room to stand and observe.

The scent of numerous bleeding cryptids and painkillers and...pizza.

"This is quite a gathering," Spire remarked, just as Lulu toppled--quite near him. He probably could have caught her. He didn't even blink. "I can't say I've crashed a more interesting party than this one."

He returned the eye contact of the girl who seemed so curious about him. She was a wolf, he identified without Toby's help. He saw how she avoided him, so he made a point of meeting her eyes now and again, to make her uncomfortable--it was very Spire-like to begin with, but also almost instinctual: the lone wolf, to make the pack-bound pup squirm.

Alexander Wiseman

Alexander listened carefully to the response he got from Oren. His original words were measured carefully and that by themselves were incapable of phasing anyone, it was the application of tone and posture that caused the reaction he saw from her now. As to why Alexander saw fit to deliver his thought in such a manner was two-fold, one was to see if Oren could be useful to him in the future, the other was a slip of the tongue, His annoyance with the situation that currently surrounded Arc.

" Oh its not a lecture.. just a thought... It seems everyone is going to be busy finishing with the loose ends that no one is going to be in a position to give your concerns the attention they deserve" he said to Oren. Now seeming to be his usual self. Rather than keep his focus on her though, even when she reacted sharply to Fel he instead made note of Issac but instead turned to Madison " Surprised they sent you so quickly... though perfect timing i'd say"

Trying to keep a good grasp on the commotion round him he learned a bit more information from Montana on how Fel was recovered, it also dawned on him the finally bring gaze on the creature, not the best of sights to look at but by the sheer fact it was still alive was a testament to what ever forces brought this creature to its current form, for it was durable it seemed. " Well since my skill set does not cover anything even in the slightest to help that creature.. i shall give you the space you need to work" He said broadly to the medical team as he made his move to walk out the room, Hearing a passing remark about Arc he stopped " I hope no one has any objections... but when Mr. Longbow has been recovered i wish to personally deal with him" he said before striding out the room, following where he assumed Issac went. Coming from behind the operative he placed a hand on his shoulder and glanced down " Care to give me the short answer to what we are going to do with our two extra guests?"he said more curious than anything else.

Issac was brought out of his thoughts by Alex's light touch, even knowing who it had been, he couldn't help but stiffen
. He turned to face Alex halfway and gestured that they should probably move a bit further away from the two guest that were mentioned before answering the mans question in a rather hushed tone, timing his words to be drown out by the other conversations in the medical bay.

" There really is no short answer, but they've agreed to keep it civilized for the time being. I don't trust them much further than that however, with how quickly the Bio-hazard team showed up and the fact that they were both at the scene about the same time as our group, suggest that they are part of something larger , Call it a hunch but ,he boys have a history as well. The human trafficking issue that I was involved in a few years back that went south real fast, they had been involved. " Issac weighed his words before he went on.

" They are not stupid ,so with enough people here they won't attempt anything. I'm more concerned about Arc at this point though, not only is he our comrade, he's also one hell of a catch information wise. If he falls into the wrong hands, well , we've really shot our selves in the foot then. There is also the matter of , what ever that might be" he said nodding to the medical room. He paused with a half assed smile before tossing the three brass casings he had been holding onto into his pocket. "To many un-resolved issues, not enough man power to deal with them; all personal things aside." He said with a shrug.

Alexander Wiseman

Alexander followed Issac, moving so they could communicate without worrying about being overheard.Hearing that the two previously mentioned strangers agreed to be civil did not do much to ease his unease. Hearing about the bio-team he arched a brow hearing Issac's suggestion. " I don't like the interference of that Bio-team..." he said trailing off into his thoughts " I'll have a word with the tech team in a moment... I want to go through the employee files for that morgue.. it seems the best place to start on that front"

Rubbing the bridge of his nose hearing about Arc again he nodded in agreement with Issac " I am worried for him too... but for different reasons. If he was captured or dead we would not of heard anything so quickly.. So Mr. Alihambra could not be on recovery... unless he is walking into a trap.. but thats doubtful.. no one could Identify our effective force and plan a trap that swiftly" It was clear from speaking to Alexander when on missions such as this, he could be quite thorough in his thought process when trying to unravel someone else schemes. " However.. assuming this is a deal gone awry you don't turn someone in self defense... and you certainly don't turn someone with His skill set or if you have an idea of his connections and then leave them alive...unless you hold something over him"

Sparing a glance towards the medical room he sighed " And I am not even sure if bringing that thing back here was wise.. for a supposed safe house it doesn't seem that safe" he turned his gaze back towards Issac " Keep your guard up..with tensions high i don't like having guests here... Certainly with the dark clouds that gather upon the horizon. "

Issac's heels clicked together as if addressing a higher ranking officer, an old habbit before he spoke.

"Pardon if I find that statement a little on the naive side Alexander. But as much work as SCION has done in the last few years you're telling me that , no one, has figured out about a large shadow organization ? Te fact we are who we are adds a risk, how many new recruits have we had in the last 4 years alone? It wouldn't be unheard of for a well guarded organization to be infiltrated by another then crushed or picked a part. You said so your self, this is something bigger. We need to get both Alihambra and Arc support about half an hour ago." Issac's mind crunched through various plans in a matter of moments before piecing together an idea that could hold water.

" I want to go after Arc, give me at least one other Field op, and I will take my guest with me, this will lower the chances of them doing anything here and help prevent things here from getting to out of hand with that thing.... With how much Toby and Spire hate vampires it wouldn't take much convincing to go waste a couple of them if we do run into a trap. " Issac's words lulled for a moment as he listened to Oren's ranting. " She really needs to take that chip off her shoulder. She acts like I was gonna kill everyone in the hospital. " He said, forgetting him self for a moment. " Anyhow. It would compartmentalize the risk to our group with how much shit we stepped in. It would also let the morgue team split up and not be forced together again with how many hurt feelings there are right now." Issac scanned the room for a moment for a head count and sighed . " There are far to many people here... And with the possibility of a larger entity looming over us I'd rather not all be under one roof.. "

Issac looked up at the Vampire and recognition seemed to over take him " Forgive me if I spoke out of turn, just an Idea. "

“Actually, I would say she’s acting like you were gonna kill the cryptid we were specifically instructed to keep alive.” Christina, who had cleaned the car and released the door by now, had been effectively eavesdropping on the entire house with the mental charm that had yet to wear off. As she’d worked, she’d bristled in Oren’s defense but had been outside and the vampire had defended herself well enough anyway. She liked Oren, she really did, because the elder researcher often voiced exactly what Christina was thinking without even trying to soften the blow.

The news about Arcuturus was a shock, especially that he’d been turned as she’d been under the impression that humans were given training to specifically avoid that. Sorcerers were, she knew for sure
Maybe SCION didn’t quite mind changing a few humans because vampires were so much more durable? Her anger at Roderic faded away as he explained his own abandonment, and in hindsight, she could interpret his parting words to say just that. What? The sorceress had never claimed to be good at hidden messages.

Most of her coworkers were oozing their own brands of overconfidence and arrogance, and all she wanted to do was go in and ask Alexander: if Oren was being unprofessional, what word was he going to use for the other lapses in protocol they’d experienced today?

Although Fel’s was the greatest shock.

Something that inspired instinctual (and that was the kicker in all this really) hatred in Fallen was something to communicate to Madison as soon as possible.

That had been where she’d been heading when she “heard” Issac and Alexander’s supposed-to-be-secret conversation. And she’d stopped to eavesdrop because this team had enough communication issues as it was, and keeping secrets wasn’t helping (She conveniently brushed aside the thought of the trust issues her action might inspire instead).

“And you know
” she added casually, locking eyes with the elder vampire. “What we researchers do is come up with ways to keep you alive. We are all useful”

Alexander Wiseman

" Don't get confused between knowing a force and knowing what they have deployed.... but then again that advice was given to me by Solomon who had fought nothing but skirmishes and pitched battles" he said before waving a hand dismissively. Issac seemed intent of going to help Arc, not that he could be blamed, it was a natural reaction. Even to go as far as to attempt to redress one of his other concerns.

Hearing him comment about Oren though made Alexander sigh " Don't worry about her,It will be a simple case of looking at your reports later.... In the mean time i don't see any reasons why you shouldn't go to retrieve Arc.. exercise extreme caution.. As for the field op i will leave the choice up to you... The guests however i am not sure they will view Arc in the same light as you... but you seem to know these boys its your call"

" Go speak with those you plan on taking and then try and get a sit-rep from Alihambra before you leave" His timing in planning to dismiss Issac was fortuitous as he brought his gaze upon Christina, Alexander initial reaction was just to raise his brow as he took a moment just to simply stare." Is there something you wish to discuss my dear?...or are you just concerned for this old mans memory?" Alex knew the implications behind her words, but he was not interested in chasing veiled meanings from his colleagues, though he would always offer them the chance to speak plainly with him.

Issac gave Christana a look of irritation before turning back to Alexander to finish hearing him out.

" Alright I will deal with that then. Discreet as possible. just to be clear, R.O.E for other cryptics would be a " don't fire unless fired upon" situation. I will ask Stride to come with me, but we will need someone to provide a bit more assistance. "

He turned to Christina , he was tired of being called an unethical killer, He gave her a measured look, locking eyes with her.
" Actually no, There was no "order" to keep that thing alive. You and Oren Assumed because Lovvette was called in that we had to keep it alive. I simply asked if we needed to because the only information I had about that thing was it was suppose to be dead, and then attacked a co-worker of ours . 'You' and Oren both made an assumption that it wasn't hostile. You two got lucky plain and simple. What if that bio-hazard team had been waiting at the base of the chute? What if the chute had lead to a corpse pit that only opened from the outside? What happens if it lead to an incinerator ? If that thing had attacked Oren when she went down the chute you'd be dead right now right along with her. I might be paranoid , but that doesn't mean shit like that doesn't happen. " He sighed a bit hearing him self and decided to tone it down, taking a more civilized tone instead of jabbing at her.

" I will apologize for being an ass hat, but I won't apologize for trying to find the most effective way of getting as many of our people back home safely as possible. yes, I got pissed when I was basically told to fuck off by a researcher who pretending to be a field operative. I don't pretend to know or understand how things work in a lab, I simply sit there and do exactly what is asked of me so that I don't mess anything up and wished I could be given the same courtesy" He softened his tone more.

" So what ever issue you have with me can sit by the way side until we finish this mess. You can file a complaint against me and be done with me for the rest of your time at SCION, but right now we have someone who is wounded stuck out there. " His expression changed from something tight to a look of real concern. " and honestly I don't think I can get him back here with out your help safely."

“Not discuss, exactly, more like point out.” Christina told the vampire pleasantly enough. “After all, you’ve been around for so many years that some things must have been shoved into those little corners where you never really look
But it’s not just you, I’ll bring it up later.”

She returned Issac’s look with an equal one of her own, but it was his words that she found she could not let go. “Oh, right, how could I forget?” she asked sarcastically, crossing her arms. “Clearly, Madison can study the behaviour of an immobile, inactive, non-living cryptid. It’s not like living creatures are his area, no, I really don’t know why he can’t get more information on the Fallen, with all those bodies we have lying in the infirmary! And maybe Oren studied the building plans before we arrived, like you should have, and I’ll forgive you for being in denial but I could fucking hear the damned thoughts of the biohazard team! No, they weren’t under the chute, they were guarding the main entrance! And what kind of hospital has a ‘body pit’?” she threw up her hands in exasperation. “They have morgues, which which we were already in!” Her eyes were narrowed as she shook her head, the air around her crackling with magical energy as her temper rose. “And maybe, if the field operatives we were with weren’t fucking useless, Oren would not have had to pretend to be one! We have Alihambra, who seems to have been trying to sabotage his own team, then we have Roderic, who flounced off to save our healer from yet another useless member of your department while you, Schofield, the only guard we had left, decide that you want to shoot a thing instead of I don’t know, being somehow helpful?!”

She finished her rant, breathing hard, and that was when she heard him complain about not receiving courtesy. “What courtesy?” she asked lowly. “The courtesy where everything Oren does is treated like the act of Satan? The courtesy where you make me feel substandard just because I can do magic? How about you stop only showing courtesy to those you have a crush on, and I’ll respect you in return!”

Her hand swung through the air in the next second, creating a force field for the express purpose of slapping him across the face while she fled up the stairs. The sound of her door slamming resounded through the house, while inside the room the silencing field went up and the sorceress collapsed on the bed, clutching a pillow to her chest, and tried to fight back her increasingly hysterical response to the day’s events.

Not even a minute later, a certain hybrid had sauntered in, as casual as if it was just a normal day around base, where no one was at each other’s throats- at least, not more than they usually were. Her voice reflected this, smooth, with the usual undertone of snark going along with it.

“The hell you’d do to piss her off so much? Could hear her yellin’ from five rooms over, there.” Of course, that was a bit of an overstatement; Stride had merely been passing through the halls at the time, having left the medical bay shortly after determining that she had no real use there. After all, the most medical knowledge she had was regarding the basics of “do this, and keep your small intestine from slipping out of you like undercooked pasta”. Her contributions would most likely, just result in her getting in the way of people with some semblance of what to do.

Besides, there were still a few things that needed to be taken care of, and it was through this reasoning that Stride progressed through the halls, towards the room she had last seen Issac enter. As such, it didn’t take much effort on her part to pick up on the frustrated shouting from a certain sorceress, catch sight of her storming off to who-knew-where. While others may have gone after her in pursuit, Stride wasn’t one for honeyed words and comforts, and, as such, chose not to follow.

The risk of Christina lashing out at her for her efforts was somewhat of a factor, as well, so she was content to merely go about doing things as she usually would.

As things stood, it wouldn’t hurt much to ask what in cold hell he had been doing.
