Introduction
Winter: Snow, Ice and rock
Summer: Forests, fields and deserts
Traits of people born to each kingdom-
Summer: Tanned, with dark features. They have affinities with animals and earth magic’s.
Winter: Pale features on white skin, often with animalistic eyes. Their affinities lie with water and weather magic’s.
Spring: Reminiscent of the last frost they are often thought to have pale green skin though they do sometimes get born with darker shades. Their affinities lean towards healing and air magic’s. They are thought to be the weakest of all the races, though the most lucky (most die before the age of 5 or 6). Occasionally they are born with the girt of foresight.
Autumn: The wild race, often travelling people, though stronger than their counterpart when young life was still full of illness and pain (most die before the age of 5 or 6 also). They tend towards fire in their appearances, though they do occasionally come in odd colourised skins, they often have metallic iridescent streaks in their hair. An affinity with fire and emotions. Very rarely they can also call upon the gift of chaos.
Sea Folk: With blue green skin, often heavily tattooed. The strongest with magic this race is unreliable, the magic both controls and is controlled by them. Many have winked out like lights, where others have done the impossible. Their magic is greatly reduced by large masses of water, so to live full lives they stay on the sea, never docking or replenishing anything but the bare essentials. Living on and for the sea, they cannot exist for long periods of time. The magic for them, is a killer.
The Summer Castle is the centre of the lands capital. People travel from far and wide to get to the trade central that is located in its lower regions. I will be looking from everything from caught officials, trades people and visiting tribes. I will only be leaving one for the autumn, everyone else will have to be of Sumer,Winter or one of the two Sea Folk spots left. Feel free to make two characters, if you like! :)

Shifting the heavy leather straps that were bound tightly around her shoulders, she looked back at Orin. Her Spring born brother’s pale hair poked out from beneath the heavy furs that she also dragged along behind her. It was rare for anyone to be born out of the Winter or Summer courts, their tribe had called him “Early spring” Degrading his rarity because he was so weak to her kind. The people of Spring and Autumn died young, most did not live past their 5th birthday, so they were considered a treasure held higher than and currency.
When Orin fell ill her father had instructed her to go to the Summer King, gain his favour. Once her beloved twin was healed, he was to be sent back home and become the leader of their tribe. She was to stay as a gift to fortify the friendship between the lands of Winter and Summer. The Summer Kingdom was the strongest, their Kind wise beyond measure, many of the Tribes went to him for advise and help in times of strife. All they of the Winter had to offer were fine young warriors, the best their was, but their numbers were dwindling, becoming fewer and fewer in numbers every year.
Kaylin felt the little Spring kitten stir beneath her shirt, it had dosed happily through the journey and one day she would be Kaylin’s stead for war. Till that time though, she would have to trudge on. She lifted her tired feet, setting off once more into the distance. She would look at all times for a chance to return to her Kingdom of Winter, where she belonged. She could not bare the thought of not going home after all this.
Eventually they came to the very edge of the Winter lands, looking out from the grey rocky expanse, she could see field and houses. Sighing softly, she realised she had gone to far east, coming out a mile further from the castle than she had hoped for. Still at least the incline here would be easy and she could hire a coach once she reached the bottom. She jumped shocked at the feeling of her swelling kitten beneath the heavy leather of her jacket. Quickly she released the rapidly growing cat. Her father had given her the kitten as a leaving gift, telling her what she believed to be an olds wives tale. Apparently this kitten had been with her family for over 100 years, never growing old as it never came to summer, it was told that once it reached the Summer King’s castle it would be fully grown and once more lead an ordinary life. Yet much to her disbelief wit was doing just that, with each step they took its muscles rippled beneath its flesh filling out. The rippling of its striped emerald green, iridescent coat fascinated her, as it grew larger and larger.
They reached the small inn at the bas of the small mountain and the innkeeper rushed out to greet the. He took Orin’s heavy form, deftly removing him from his encasement and laying him along one of the padded benches by the fire. He looked in awe at the pale dawn like creatures at either side of her.
“Will you be wanting food? I assume you’re waiting for the next coach?” He asked looking in horror as the large cat walked in beside her. Now reaching her waist she was indeed a fearsome sight, but she looked innocently on, curling up beneath Orin’s bench protectively. The barkeep smiled nervously, before leaving to fetch their food. She had forgotten of the joint coaches that were active in the Summer Kingdom, it made travel far cheaper. She sighed, settling down on the corner of the bench. She smiled, closing her eye’s, a nap sounded like an ideal thing before dinner. Soon all was dark and then nothing more.

"Orin!" She groaned sleepily, the her head snapped up, eyes wide. "Orin! You're awake! How are you? How do you feel? You shouldn't have been up, stay, sit eat." The verbal vomit spewed from her mouth, in a torrent of sleepy shock. She snapped to her feet, clicking her fingers to Sherridan, who brushed a thick welcome over her knuckle. Placing her hand over the beast of a cat, she looked fearfully at her brother. She poked over him, checking for anything that might be wrong, eventually deciding he was fine she smiled. A joyous peal of laughter left her mouth, as she flung her arms around his shoulders in a hug.
"Brother, I'm so glad your back! I'v missed you, why were you gone so long?" She cuffed him gently over the head, pulling him to yet another of her over enthusiastic hugs.
"Good to se you Kay, but you might want to check out the poster." He pointed weakly to the poster, an impish grin on his face. She was such a funny one.
Pushing her way through the already gathering crowd, she went to the poster. After reading it she flew through the people, dashing upstairs her spear in hand. She knocked on all the doors, asking for able bodied warriors. When she came to the open door she did not pause, but walked in, shaking the black beast into wakefulness.
"The King has called for aid. If you wish to come, all able people are going within the hour." She told the wolf softly.
Orin smiled, as hastily dressing people poured from upstairs. Sherri nosed his leg, obviously wanting him to climb on her already large frame, just below shoulder height. As she crouched down, he mounted her strong back and was bore swiftly through the parting crowd. He took much glee at their yelps and cries. Sherri's gate was flawless, creating a seamless comfortable speed, as she moved pacing outside for her leader. Orin was holding her back, calming her with soft words, as he knew his sister would want to run beside them. What a sight the would make in their pale splendour, racing across the miles that separated them for thing King. It would mean a swift recovery for him, then his thoughts turned grim. It would be an equally quick enslavement for his beloved sister. He so hoped she could earn her freedom. He sighed.

Taking in a few quick breaths, she continued to venture forward. She would not turn back around just because she was scared of the crowd of people-- no, she had come too far to do so. Instead, she tried to look as brave as possible as she entered the town. Lilly could feel the stares on her as if no one had ever seen a Summer nymph before. She light out a soft groan as she wandered the streets, lost on what to do. She knew she wanted to help out in the looming war ahead, but she wasn’t sure how to go about doing so.
“Find the palace,” she spoke to herself, her voice getting lost in the noise of the street. Her eyes, which appeared to be green at the moment (often changing colors from blue to green) looked around the area in hopes of spotting some sort of large building.

With a small sigh the young sorcerer picked his way down the glacial path into the warm air of the summer plains. Kira tugged his cowl over his head in vain, knowing the futility of trying to hide his omnipotence, but taking some small comfort in the effort anyways. Kira set out down the main trading path toward Trelhiem, the nearest boarder town, leaving behind icy footsteps and frozen grass in his wake. Anyone who wanted could follow his path, but Kira knew they were few and far between. He only hoped that he would receive lodging when he arrived at his destination. Perhaps his legend had not reached so far. It was a foolish hope, but it kept one foot in front of the other all the same.

"Kay, lets get a move on! I want to get their and healed before everyone becomes to busy." He sat astride her mighty stead, who was pacing back and forth, tail whipping in agitation. Before either of them could reply, Sherri was off, setting a slow jog for her human counterpart. Orin let out a whoop, aligning himself low along her back. Her gait was less even now, causing to have to cling tighter to her fur. He loved the feel of her strength beneath him, knowing he himself was too weal to do more than stand till he was fixed. His hair was longer than his sisters by a few inches, and the pale tips brushed lightly against the nape of his neck. Their family was counting on him to get better, he would take over from their winter parents. No one seemed to think it at all odd that he and his sister would rule the kingdom so young, they were special. Twins were rare in their parts, mixed seasons even more so. He hated that he would rule alone till his sister returned, hated that she was known by his name. She was one of the best warriors to be born to their clan for many years, or so her mother told him. It was believed she was so strong and beautiful because she had been held in the same womb as him. He thought it ridiculous as he watched his sister start after him.
She opened up into long smooth strides, slinging her spear to her brother to hold. True she could run with it, but it was far easier without. They moved through the outlying countryside, letting out whoops and laughter as they ran along. Occasionally they would jump high over a hedgerow and startle the Summer cattle beyond, this gave them fits of giggles as they scattered before their mighty speed. Soon the city was within sight, its tall buildings disrupting the ever balanced swell of hills and trees. She could see the tip of the castle at the centre, that's where they were going. It was a few miles yet though. She waved a hand to Sherri, motioning for them to stop at the river. Her legs were burning lightly as they paused, and she stretched them to help the flow of blood. Pulling her leg straight over her head, she watched Orin dismount clumsily. Sherri was now almost taller than her, and was a good 10ft in body, excluding her tail. Kaylin hoped she wouldn't get to much bigger, otherwise she would never fit in any house they would share. The beast bounced over, still kitten like in her actions and bumped her head with it's own. She fell to the floor, laughing deeply as she reached into her pocket for the fish she had saved. Waving it she watched as Sherri crouched low, leaped over her head taking it and purred as she shredded it.
Orin took his offered food, sitting by his sister as she washed herself in the river. Her pale skin clashed with the vividity of the green fields around them, it was luminous as she tossed glittering jewels of water up around her. He looked at his own green skin and wondered how he had been born to her perfect family.
"Your brooding again." She told him over her shoulder, standing straight ad letting the beads of water trail down her exposed belly. She flick water at him smiling, hoping to get him into a better frame of mind for the king.
"Oi! Yeah I know, sorry." He rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed that she had noticed. He stood following her lead and was soon back on her stead. It rippled beneath his legs, pushing faster than before. He watched his sister before them, running full pelt towards the city. By the time they reached the king, she would be to tired to stand he thought, but he understood her rush. They were to the north of the summer lands, where the disturbance had been, she did not want to linger here unwisely. She was fast enough to make Sherridan brake into a faster pace, smother on him, harder on it. They were both going to build up muscle and keep fit while they were caring for him, they were his protectors. He smiled as they came to the edge of the city, this meant at least that it would be a slow pace. The smells of this busy city were horrendous, making his nose wrinkle in disgust as they entered.

Close by a grey horse grazed happily on the lush grass, glancing up every now and then to set eyes on his mistress, before bowing his head once again to eat. His mistress, whose name was Aaria Maye, was quite content to sit and listen to the breeze, the sound of Storm eating, the stream bubbling and garling and in general, nature itself. Beside her lay a crafted bow, made from her very own hands, a quiver, full of arrows which she had made and sword passed down to her through the ages of her family. She never went anywhere without these three things.
Aaria had always been drawn to this place, ever since she was a child. Her older brother, had often brought her here to play. When he had died, she had continued to spend her time in the woods, out of respect for her older brother. Rein had been just 18 when he was killed by a group of Winter Rebels who had been plundering a local village. Aaria, she was only 11, when she watched her brother shot through the heart with an arrow. Her mother had been devstated by the loss of her child, but Aaria had helped her through it. It left only the two of them to defend themselves and so Aaria found herself drawn to becoming a warrior, in the attempt to protect her mother from any harm.
In the distance, she could hear the buzz of the marketplace and the general noise of the city. It was comforting to her. She belonged here. Opening her dark eyes slowly, she focused on Storm, who had wandered close to the stream. He was snorting in the water and she couldn't help but smile to herself. However, that smile was short lived. The breeze that had swept through before whistled once again, this time a little strong. And with it, a piece of paper floated. Frowning, Aaria rose to her feet. She was fairly tall and extremely slender. Her body held nothing more than a flimsy tunic, cool and light, as it was always quite warm, her belt and thin trousers. In a shack nearby she had hidden her armour, for it was too heavy to carry around when she was not doing any fighting.
Her feet were bare and as she stepped forwards on the grass it was graceful and she didn't make a single sound. It was as though she walked on air. Snatching the paper from the air, she smoothed it out so that she was able to read it. It was a poster, informing all those strong enough to fight that the King of Summer needed help. "And why haven't I been told this before? You left it to now to let me know Rein?" She whispered, her voice had a little edge to it. Sighing, she turned to her companion. "Come Storm. We have places to be. No point hanging around here anymore." She folded the paper carefully and slipped it into her pocket.
Storm looked up from where he was drinking, upon hearing his Mistress' voice. He gave a little snort, tossing his grey mane before trotting over. Aaria smiled, walking to meet him, before burying her face against his nose. He was her one and only friend. When she thought of it like that, it made her quite sad. She rubbed his neck, closing her eyes. Ever since he was a foal and she had saved him from being eaten by wolves, he had stuck by her side and never left her. Storm's mother was killed by a pack of wolves and had it not been for Aaria, he would have been as well. However, she had saved him and now she looked after him.
Sighing, she opened her eyes, going to his side. With ease, she pulled herself onto his broad back, with no saddle, only reins. "Make haste old friend, we have to get to the palace." She told him, nudging his sides with her heels to make him walk forwards. He started at a slow trot, before speeding up to a strong canter. Aaria's blonde hair flew out behind her, her eyes steely and determined.

"Snow walker!" he cried like a curse, pointing at Kira from where he stood. The people around him gasped, stirring up whispers of, "Are the legends true?" and "He's real, and he's come here."
"Was terrorizing the winter lands not enough!? Now you seek to haunt the other kingdoms as well?" the pale man screamed at Kira again, his rage seeming almost boil over. Kira looked down at his feet. "I do not wish any harm to these people," he replied meekly.
"Liar! You cannot fool me Snow Walker! I know the tales of your deeds!" he rebuttled. "You cannot cloud my mind monster!"
His words were like daggers, each one piercing his heart. Why? he asked himself. What have I ever done to deserve this? Kira felt his own anger began to rise. "You do a fine job of clouding your own judgment," he called, his voice steadily rising. "What have I ever done to you people!?" More people began to back away from him and the winter man also took a step back; his look now of fear instead of anger. "I never asked for this!" Kira continued, oblivious to his surroundings. The air seemed to crackle as the temperature dropped around him and ice seemed to cover the town. "Please, stop this!" the pale man cried at him. What is he talking about? he wondered. Then his surroundings finally hit him. The people of the town square had fled, and in their wake were buildings and streets of ice. "No..." Kira cried weakly. "I..I didn't." "You did," the man in front of him challenged. "I never meant to..." Kira stuttered. "Go back to where you came from Snow Walker. Your presence only causes suffering," the pale man accused before turning and taking a side street into the town; leaving Kira alone to his sorrow and his own personal winter.

"Kaylin, are you all right? You've gone quiet and slowed down." He tugged on her hand and together they came to a stop. Soon they were surrounded by people pushing by, uncaring of his stead former terror. He leant down, pulling her face up to look at him, marvelling all the while of her almost white skin against his pale green. Her eye's seemed mirky today, losing their frightening glow for a look of almost terror. This was not his sister, she was bold and freed. Therein lay the problem, freedom would be in short supply today. She brushed him away, turning to lean heavily on his leg and her Kitten. He almost froze in shock, as he felt her shiver and shudder, shedding hidden teads onto his tightly gripped trousers. Stroking her hair, he hummed to her, nothing more than calming sounds. He coughed lightly into his hand, juddering, before doubling over. He hacked large hunks of blood into his hand, but hastily hid them, not wanting her to worry. It would only make her need to rush, that was not needed today. They were over a day earlier than expected due to their fast pace today, they had no need to hurry.
"Yes, I'm fine. Are you ok? Do you need to go straight to the castle?" She asked concern touching her downcast face. "I thought possibly we could go to the market? I need some clothes for presentation, so do you!" Kaylin released her brothers trouser leg, patting at the wet mark of her tears. She looked up at him hopefully, knowing he was ill, but wishing for a few more minutes of normality.
"Lets go, if were lucky we will find something for Sherridan." He patted the great beasts neck and rewarded with a heavy, reverberating huff huff that sounded Sherri's laughter. They moved down to the market, stopping at the metal smith, who measured Sherri and began to cast her chain-mail for them to pick up later. The pondered through shops, picking up clothes for everyday wear. He watched anxiously as his sister moved about, the were being watched by people. His kind were so rare about here, that most had never seen more than one kept hidden in the castle. When he was pulled ruddily off his mount and onto the floor by his sister, her smile as big as the sun. As soon as he looked around him he knew why, they were in a shop holding the finest silks he had ever seen.
" I need to find something formal and something fun, you too." She squealed with joy so little shown. Her hands ran across one silk after the other, noting down silently to herself when they met something different. A Cotton Silk blend caught her, as did the Silk Wool, that would be good for the winter balls held in her own kingdoms. Her eyes set on a roll of fine gossamer this yellow silk, akin to the light in her eye's, it was all fire and strength in her mind. Picking it up she tossed it over her shoulder, moving on to the a mid weight white with a hint of ice blue in it's colour, this too followed the other, onto her shoulder. She moved over to the tailor, speaking quietly to the old man, as she handed over the fabrics with care. She felt happy here, in a place not sullied by war or obligation, she felt herself.
"Now do you want to have green or blue hair tonight?" She asker pressing fabrics up against him, he glowed to her. He was so beautiful, even though it wasn't by the standard of her kin. Sh pressed the deep brow Silk Linen against him, then the emerald green of Cotton Silk and watched as his hair changed subtly from green to blue.
"Blue as always." He smiled up at her, watching her old self peak out. He stood obligingly still as the old man measured them. After another 2 hour of waiting and tea they came back. Picking up to packages of who knew what and he followed his twin on the back of Sherri. Sherris roar of satisfaction shocked him, as she padded forward to the metal-smith. The long sheet of mail was perfectly made out of fine silver, it had special hooks that would not pull her fur or brake under pressure. He could not help but notice the forlorn look on his sisters face as they came at last to the castle entrance. She seemed diminished, her shoulders hunching over the precious packages that she held in her arms. The mighty gates opened before them, admitting their entrance into a wide courtyard, filled with busy servants, making ready for the evening and entertainment's. He chuckled to himself, they would not be there, they had already planned to sneak out and explore the city fully. This thought at least cheered him.

The clay earth Lilly sat on by the wall was warm from the heat of the sun. She loved being of Summer; she couldn’t imagine ever living anywhere else. And as it was, the Summer Kingdom was truly the place to be. Soon they all would get to see the King, and it would be an honor. Lilly only hoped she might get the chance to meet him in person one day. He could possibly know of her father since he is the Chief of her Ginsings clan, known as Chief Stone. It was a difficult last name to forget, Lilly personally thought. She shook her head, shaking out of her daydream. She tended to do that a lot for she lived such a relaxed, slow pace life back at home. She was sheltered for around 90 years in her little part of the forest, developing her powerful healing skills, but never got out much. She was in for a rude awakening when it came time for battle. The shine of the flawlessly crafted blade glistened in the sun only added to Lilly’s naive opinion of war; it seemed like a fairy tale with knights on their horses, but she was now here in real life watching this trot by in glory.
Her own loyalty and dedication to the service of the King sent chills down her spine. Never had she felt so strongly about aiding in a war. She was of average strength and could put up a decent fight to defend herself if need be, but she had never had to fight before. Her true speciality and asset to the King would be her medical knowledge and experience. Her whole life had been focused on the power of healing. Being of Summer birth only increased her ability because of the close tie to the earth and its natural functions. Since she was young she had the magic of being able to heal wounds even to the extent of repairing broken bones. Her power has only grown stronger. Her largest accomplishment was when she managed to bring a tiny bird back to life after it had been seriously wounded by using her magic and homemade remedies. Though she managed this, she hasn’t been able to do so since. Lilly to this day still searches for the inner strength she knows she has inside to do it again one day. Hopefully war generals would see the potential in this flower child (appearing to be in her twenties). They would not regret their decision to let her come along. Besides, the more soldiers coming in, the more medical care they will need. The wasn’t much illness in the Summer Kingdom, so the amount of doctors was slim.
Lilly suddenly heard yelling around the corner. She stood up quickly and peered around the wall, seeing two Winter men in a battle of words and accusations. “Snow walker?” Lilly whispered, clueless as to what he meant by that. As she continued to watch the two, she was quickly distracted by a brisk breeze that filled the air. It was absolutely freezing and unnatural. Clearly it was being caused by one of the men. It was almost too hard to bare looking forward, goosebumps rising up her arms from the chilly wind. Soon the confrontation was over, and the person causing the winter madness around him was alone. His face was painful to see, the pale curves of his face spilling sorrow on to the streets. Lilly frowned, the caring heart in her feeling guilty for this outsider. Yet though she wanted to help him out, she would not care step close. Even being at where she was now seemed impossible.
Stepping out from the wall, Lilly quickly paced her way down a different street that had not been effected the the hovering winter cloud. Then she saw it... the palace. It was beautiful and gigantic, just how her father had described it. “Wonderful,” she said joyfully, beginning to now jog towards the palace. She was fast on her feet and made it to the gate in minutes. She wondered how she was supposed to offer her aid to the King if she couldn’t even get past the gate. “Hmm!” she muffled in a frustrated tone, gripping the bars of the gate softly. She looked around the area. She wasn’t the only one waiting outside the palace front. There seemed to be hundreds! This would be an experience of a lifetime for this youthful summer nymph. As she waited around with others, she pulled out her special flute. It played a beautiful tune and Lilly was quite well at it. The music helped her pass the time, as well as aided in some of her other powers like healing and speaking to animals. Those standing around Lilly by the gate sat down and listened to her play while they all patiently waited for word from the King or any way official.

Already, the caravan had taken twice as long as the merchant originally predicted. The journey had been plagued by many delays. For five days, everyone had been forced to hole up in the small town of Linden, impatiently waiting out a violent thunderstorm that had swept over the land. Even after they were able to take to the roads again, the carts’ wheels were in constant danger of being sucked into the mud and delaying them further. And while in the gentle hills of Hanstrun, bandits had ridden down upon them, forcing the group to halt and defend against the greedy attackers. Finally, with their goal nearly within sight, a last blow had been dealt to the road wearied travelers. A great wooden bridge spanning a wide and treacherous river had been damaged, as irony would have it, by the same storm that had delayed them in the town of Linden. Precious time had been lost as the caravan backtracked downstream until they could find another safe crossing.
Matrim heaved a sigh and raised a hand to rub at his forehead. His jade eyes flew open as a hand forcefully slapped him on the shoulder.
“Cheer up!” A fellow hired guard grinned down at his shorter colleague. The larger man sported a bandage that wrapped around his head, covering his left eye, while one arm was draped loosely in a sling. Trophies from his battle against the bandits. “We’ll be rid o’ these ‘ere sheep afore the day’s through, I promise ye.” ‘Sheep’ was a term that most hired guards used when talking about the caravans, while the guards considered themselves the ‘herdsmen’ of the ‘flock’.
“Aye, that we will, Borse” agreed Matrim. He fell in step with the older man as they plodded along beside the train of mules. Borse walked with a nonchalant swagger to his step and an exaggerated swing of his arms. At his hip, a sword hung with an ease that came after years of battle. The dark tan of his skin was tattooed by a myriad of scars, each had their own tale and, depending on which night you heard him tell it, the stories changed often.
At the beginning of their journey, Borse and Matrim had been quick to team up together. They had both recognized an affinity for each other. Matrim was serious and easygoing; taking things into consideration before deciding upon an action. While, on the other hand, Borse was boisterous and more brash to jump into a situation that might not bode well. They had enjoyed many a campfire together on this seemingly never-ending trip. They’d even gone so far as to spar with each other when they’d had the chance. Although, Matrim suspected Borse had set up more than one wager on the outcome of their little ‘sparring matches’ with others in the group.
“Now that’s the sight my sore eyes ‘ave been looking forward to!” crowed Borse. Brought out of his musings, Matrim glanced ahead to see what had brought the exclamation from his friend. Beyond the top of a low, grassy rise, the turret of a castle materialized. The farther they walked around the small hill, a peaceful scene unfolded. Leading up to the walls of the great city, farmlands spread out to either side, dotting the horizon. A large stone wall surrounded the city making it an impressive sight. Above the wall, the wooden slats of houses and other various buildings could be seen. Over all of this, presided the castle. The sheer size and beauty of it struck Matrim to the core and sent small shivers down his spine, no matter how many times he had gazed upon this sight before. Tearing his gaze from the many turrets and spiraling towers, he glanced to the road leading up to the city itself and saw with some dismay that it was congested with travelers. A small groan escaped from his lips; thoughts of his tankard of ale fleeing away from his grasp.
“There’s no helping it,” Borse said, guessing at the source of his companion’s frustration. “The gods be punishin’ us for some’at we done. All we can do now is buck up and grit our teeth while we wait to clear th’ gates.”
Finding no solace in his friend's words, Matrim slumped his shoulders and nodded his weary head. “Fancy a spar then?” he asked, hoisting his spear in question.
Later that evening, Borse and Matrim were finally free of their restraints. They had left the caravan far behind them as soon as they had passed beneath the archway of the gate leading into the city. Together, the two colleagues prowled the crowded streets of the city. As of yet, none of the taverns they had entered showed much appeal to either of the hired guards. With the increase in the number of travelers to the city, the local taverns and inns had filled fast. Many of the buildings the two had entered were full to the rafters with patrons and bustling with loud talk.
At long last, Borse spotted a wooden sign that swung from an iron rod hanging above a heavy door. He nudged his companion, and they entered the dim ally leading to the out-of- the-way tavern. Matrim glanced up at the faded picture scrawled into the aged wood. 'The Scalded Cat, eh?' A rare grin slipped onto his face. 'Sounds like it promises a good time.'

Storm bolted onwards, head down, mane and tail flying behind him. Aaria sat low on his back, bent over, so that they could move quickly. Her eyes flickered around, waiting for a guard rogue to launch himself at her. But none did. Perhaps it was a lone rogue, trying his luck. Many of the Summer Folk were frightened of the Winter Race, with the except of the warriors and fighters. Not many in a village that size would stand up to them.
Reaching the edge of the village, her body began to shake slightly. It was freezing and she could see why...
The whole place had been covered in a sheet of ice, clear and sparkling due to the sun shining down on it. Aaria's eyes grew wide as she and Storm walked around the town, Storm a little unsure of the ice, as he had never seen anything quite like it. And Aaria had never seen an attack quite like it. Everywhere was covered in ice, glittering and cold. But she could find no source. Most of the villagers had fled and there were not signs of a body anywhere.
Stopping Storm, she patted his side, before sliding off. She slipped on the ice, but caught herself, managing to stay upright. "Show yourself!" She called to no-one. Her shout echoed through the village. She waited cautiously for someone to reply, but there wasn't a sound to be heard. Chewing her bottom lip, she drew her bow, a single arrow resting on it's string. She had remembered to grab them before they had left earlier.
Suddenly, the sound of scurrying feet sounded behind her. She stood still for a few seconds, listening, before whipping round and coming face to face with a boy of around her age. "Don't shoot!" He said, raising his hands, his eyes terrified. "Aaria, don't shoot. I'm from Summer. There is a boy, he is causing havoc in our village as you can see." She lowered her bow hesitated, frowning at him, surprised he knew her name. "He's in the village centre. Please, help our village." Aaria didn't need telling twice...
"Watch my horse. If any harm comes to him, you'll be the one to pay," She said harshly, as she turned and headed carefully towards the village centre. She had never seen ice quite like this and she knew she would fall if she went too fast. The village was small compared to the city and it didn't take her long to get there. She watched for any sign of movement. The boy had said that it was one person, but she didn't believe one person could do all of this alone...
Lifting her bow, she glanced around, cautious of every step she took. She was wary of an ambush and never let her guard drop for a second. But she didn't need to be so careful, for he was just stood in the centre. This surprised her somewhat, as she expected him to be tearing houses down, shouting and laughing. "Turn to face me!" She shouted, keeping her distance, her arrow perched. "What did you do?! Who are you?!" She demanded, her temper rising and fast...

About twenty minutes of hoping tree to tree he arrived at a river.Romolus had decided to take a three minute break to drink water. He hoped down from the tree he was in and began to walk toward the river,he knelt down by the river and used his hand to scoop water and placed it by his muzzel.Romolus started to have flashbacks of the war he was in with his friend as he drank the water from his hand, his face filled with sorrow as he saw his own reflection in the water staring at the scar at the side of his muzzel his comrade left him in a fight before he had to kill him.Romolus hit his own reflection dispersing it, and feeling like he hated himself."I have to leave what has happend in the past behind or it will keep comming back to haunt me."Romolus said to himself as he rose up and began to walk across the river and arriving in the Summer Forest,Romolus began to sprint again at the same rate as when he left the inn knowing the kingdom was not far now.
About sixteen minute later he arrived in the summer kingdom's entrance, he walked into the city and noticed the buildings and streets were ice which confused Romolus,As he continued to walk he began to walk on the Ice he felt cold shoot up around his entire body as he placed each foot paw on the icy ground he walked on.Romolus had no other choice but to walk across the icy ground since it was the only way to the Kings Palace,Romolus was not used to the cold and seemed to shock him when he felt that cold.As Romolus walked around the icy city he noticed few frieghtened Summer Folk ,he then walked toward one of them.
"What has happened here"he asked a pale looking man as he looked at the ice that covered the buildings and street. The man looked up seemed to shiver,"The Snow Walker came and froze part of the city."Where is he right now?"Romolus asked. The man pointed down toward the town centre.
"Thank you I will see to this Snow Walker"Romolus stated as he began to walk toward the direction the man pointed down.

"Go, the King is expecting us. I will be back later." She smiled a sweet smile, reserved only for her brother, and swung gracefully up onto Sherridan's strong back. She was happy that he turned away without making a fuss or a fool of her. She moved her cat beneath her, without words, her training was inbuilt and would never fail. She steered the beast towards one of the men, almost laughing at his gasps and scurrying. She grabbed his shirt, pulling them all to a stop, ease and grace shifting through their combined bodies.
"I am one of the King's new men, do not look so frightened." She gave him a wide feral look, hoping to make him squeak in terror. "Were is the disturbance?" She asked carefully, pronouncing her words with care, so her ascent didn't throw him. He pointed with a hand off to the left, shivering with fear.
"The Snow Walker, in a town just off the edge of the city." He cried as she dropped him, leaning low to her stead. The air shifted heavily down her back, Sherri moving at a pace far superior to that of a horse. Her feet took them through the city, meeting with many screams; no one had seen such a mighty beast in many years. Soon she bore down on the outer edges of the city, bursting forth into the meadow farmland. Kaylin whooped as Sherri let out a huffing roar, putting on yet more speed, unhindered by the tight streets out here. Her eyes were slits, not able to stand the wind at any more than that. She could smell the sweet crisp air that usually held only within the depth of the Winters realm. Shifting to a slower pace, they cam to an easy lope, entering the small town.

Orin tried not to glance back at his sister, but he couldn't help himself. He winced at the terror she caused in these fragile people. Still, he could not help but feel happy as they both sped away, the grace they possessed was so enchanting. He walked slowly, moving with more strength and grace than he had ever possessed. The summer aura was like a drug to him, though it did not cure him of his illness, it helped him feel more, human. He was startled at the tap on his shoulder, spinning away from the cobbled courtyard, a blur of yellow and grey stone filling his vision. He twisted out of the other mans reach, he may not have been a warrior, but he had still trained alongside his sister for all these years.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. You must be Orin, though I was told you would be accompanied." The serving man was old, or at least by winter terms, people tended to live longer in the more 'Sivilaised' Sumer kingdom. He was smaller than Orin, reaching only his shoulder, his back was arched like a hook and his skin was weathered and dark. Their was however a sharp intelligence in his eyes, as he looked around for Orin's sister. Nodding he motioned for him to follow and they entered the castle. The man slowly showed him through the large entrance hall, motioning to each room and telling him what it meant. Finally, after what seemed like an endless walk they reached the infirmary. The man opened the door for him, giving a small bow. This made Orin jump.
"No, no, don’t bow to me." He pleaded with the old man, reaching out a hand to straighten him. People had worshiped the ground he walked on all his life, but never had an elder bowed to him, age always coming before race or rank. The man straightened holding onto his arm, a small smile lit his features. The continued past the many beds, full of injured or ill men. Something terrible has happened, he shook at the wounds, wide and gaping, treated by frantic doctors. Their must have been a battle, their was not other way so many could look this bad. He reached out with his healing magic’s, touching each man, woman and child. In his mind he could see which would survive the wounds, many wouldn't. Then he paused looking down into the eyes of one of the children, Why are their children here, children do not go to battle. The sweet little girl of no more than 5 smiled at him, yet another person who would think him a lucky charm in this ward.
"Young Master, you will be kept in the quarters next to the King's, he likes to have all the Spring born around him. You will of course be aloud anywhere in the castle, but not until the doctors have said so. Please follow me." The man tugged on his arm, pulling him along into a different section. Here there were few beds, each with a window and long fabric walls. Finally they came to a separate room and he was sat down, the old man left, in search of doctors.

Kaylin reached out, feeling for the center of this icy town. Soon she came into view of a Summer woman, the first person she had seen in the deserted streets of this town. Stupid Summer warrior, did she not know of the Snow Walker, he was the most gifted and feared of their race. Still at least she was in time, she slowed, not wanting to startle the woman. An arrow in either Sherri or herself would be a poor show for the King. Moving on ice was doable with Sherri's paws; they were flexible and large enough to keep her balance, as long as they weren’t too foolhardy. They moved past the woman, closer to the Winter Prince, and Kaylin put a hand up. Drawing on her magic she pulled on the summer, acting like a beacon for the spring thaw. The heat on her skin intensified, making her quake, she hated the heat of summer. The ice melted around her, spreading out across the town, in slow cracking and crashing of ice falling. Her eyes were wide; she had chosen to ignore most of her family’s tales about the man, thinking of him as a myth for children. She didn't know how to react to seeing him. She turned her gaze back to the other woman, God I hope she isn't prejudice against Winter, that can only go badly.

"You're the Snow Walker," She said quite simply, her eyes returning to him as she frowned. She'd heard tales of this guy, but she had never come across him before as she doubted he had ever set foot on Summer land. With her spare hand, she tucked her long blonde hair behind her ear, watching him for a long time. "But you have no place here. Why are you here?" She had lost the anger from her voice. If the Snow Walker was here, then something awful must have been up. He was not the kind to intentionally attack a village such as this one. Even still, Aaria could not bring herself to even start to trust him. She had too many bad memories of Winter Folk and she had no intention of becoming friends with any.
Just then a sound made her tense. It was the sound of claws on ice. She waited for a moment, her eyes on the Snow Walker, her breath drawn. "Looks like you're not alone," She whispered, lifting her bow once again, just as Kaylin and Sherri made their way towards him. She would not be seen to be weak. Her arrow was directly at the girl sat on the wolf's back. She had seen wolves before so it was no great surprise to her to see one so large. "Look, I don't care what you are doing here, I just want you to leave. Even if this little ice storm is unintentional, you are scaring our people and I'm afraid I cannot allow that. If you can rid us of this ice, then I suggest you so, seeing as you caused this problem."
Her dark eyes narrowed slightly, as another noise behind her sounded. The sound of a horse slipping on ice. Sighing, Aaria shook her head, keeping her ice on the two Winter people before her. "Storm, you fool. Please return to the boy." She said in a gentle voice, instead of the fierce, angry voice that she had used with the other two. Storm wouldn't leave her side, even if she demanded him to do so. He only left her if it was extremely important that he did so.
"Miss, I'm sorry, but he just wouldn't stay!" A scared voice shouted to her from a distance. "I did try." Taking a deep breath, she replied steadily.
"Do not worry young one, he is safe with me." Beside her, Storm's ears were flat against his head, as he stared at the unfamilar creature before them. He stamped one hoof on the ice, not at all happy with the situation. "Calm down." Aaria told him, rolling her eyes slightly. "Just sort this problem and then leave." Her tone was icy, almost as cold as the ice itself. She ahd not lowered her bow and kept it pointing at the girl, as she had already deduced that the boy meant no harm.

Kira stared up at the man curiously. He's....not afraid? he thought stupefied. Even after what I did here? Kira thoughts were starting to blur together as his gaze switched back and forth from the man to the two women. He'd never actually been around this many people before, much less people who were willing to approach him. Kira smiled happily as the ice around the city began to melt and the city returned to normal. All except for the spot he stood in, a five foot radius of perpetual winter that surrounded him unyieldingly. "I apologize to all of you for the disturbance I've caused, but know it was not intentional. I....cannot control it; this ice storm that follows me. Normally it stays close and doesn't harm much, but it was spread by my resentment. Forgive me." Kira continued to watch as the town slowly transitioned back into its summer climate. He still felt tinge of envy for the people here. "If only I could feel warmth of this lands sun. Maybe then my heart could begin to thaw," he mused to himself. Then Kira turned towards the main road leading out of the summer city and to the heart of the summer kingdom. Time was running out he knew and his current task overtook him once more. I must get to the castle. I've already stalled myself too long, he told himself as began walking from the city square.

Aaria did not relax the grip on her bow, even when someone from the Summer Race approached. Instead, she directed the arrow towards him, pointing it directly at his chest, her eyes narrowed dangerously. This young girl had grown to trust no-one, least of all those who sneaked up behind and definitely not someone who wore a cloak to hide their face. Her body was rigid and tense, her knuckles white with the growing grip on her bow. She scanned him quickly, whilst he spoke to the pale-faced one. Flickering, her eyes switched between the two, as she watched and waited. Not once did she drop her bow and beside her, Storm was growing agitated, stamping his hoof, detecting his Mistress' unease in a heartbeat.
It had long been established that Aaria and Storm had a connection, as she did with all horses. However their's was a lot stronger. It was one of the gifts of being a child of the Summer. She also had a slight connection to the earth, which often helped her out. Although she did not abuse this ability and never intended to. It was a gift and she respected that. Aaria only used it as a last resort or in self defence. She would never meaninglessly attack someone with it.
Out of nowhere, the new male turned to her and spoke. She was slightly startled by his words of knowing her, but once he removed his hood, she understood. "Yes, I do believe that we have met before," She said, her words still cold and disconnected. "But that was a long while ago and it was briefly, as I recall." Aaria allowed herself to drop her bow to her side, now satisified that no-one was going to attack her. "The name is Aaria. Aaria Maye." She didn't hold out a hand to shake, but she did keep her dark eyes on him for a long time.
"I thank you deeply Snow Walker," Aaria said, not removing her eyes from Romolus for a second, before they darted to Kira. "I deeply discourage you from performing such circus tricks further into the city. I don't doubt that they shall have your head for it." Her voice was laced with bitter resentment and anger, as well as a note of sarcasm. "Take care now." Quickly, she scanned the village, watching as the ice melted around them, as though it was never there to start with.
Absent-mindedly, she ran her hand down Storm's mane, attempting to calm him, but the beast was too wound up. "Hush old friend, all is well." Her eyes returned to Romolus, as she frowned. "Well, if you shall excuse us. We have to be at the castle as soon as possible. Haste is of great importance." Aaria turned to Storm, threading his reins into her hand and starting to follow the path the Snow Walker had set out on. She had not forgotten the woman on the cat, but she had decided that they meant not harm to her. She cast them a quick glance, nodding her head once, before continuing on. In the back of her mind, she wondered if Romolus would dare to follow...

The music that played from her flute (called a tlapitzalli- the one in her picture) was lighthearted and playful. Those that had been waiting outside the castle gates with her had now moved in closer to where she was. Some napped quietly to the sound while others began to dance to pass the time. Lilly didn't mind the company or mind playing her special flute since she didn't have anything else to do but wait and watch her surroundings. Seeing the mix of summer and winter warriors was still making her excited. She had never seen so many summer people together before since she had only lived in a clan of 60 or so. On top of that, she had never seen winter people and only had an idea of what they might be like. Her father had told her stories of their harsh ways and stoic personalities, but Lilly didn't take what he said to be entirely true. Their pale skin and light hair was beautiful in her books, and how could people so beautiful really be so cold? -pun intended :P.
As she continued to play, her thoughts traveled. What was the king like? What kind of danger were the Seasons really in? Lilly had heard rumors that it would be one of the worst wars the land would ever see, but was this really so? These thoughts made her feel so tiny; she was only -one- in a mass of hundreds that would soon be apart of something bigger than the whole. This made her wonder how much help she was capable of offering. She had the strength and the power in her to heal many, but how many would that actually be? Images of the future dead and wounded flashed in her vision, making her shutter. Lilly knew this experience would have a drastic effect on her personality, but she could only wonder to what extent. She only hoped she would be as optimistic after the war as she was now, but in reality that was highly unlikely. The other nymphs in her clan that had been in past wars had come home depressed and distant.
She began to feel tired, the wind in her air pipes aching from playing for so long. Lilly stopped the music, hooking her flute back to her belt. The people around that had been listening sighed, but looked to her with thanks for the temporary entertainment. She nodded gently, making eye contact with those around before they walked back to their original spots against the gate. Overall Lilly was a patient, soft soul, but at this moment she was growing anxious and frustrated. She didn't want to wait for who knows how long. Instead she stood up, eyeing the palace for a way in. Guards were spread around, so sneaking in was out of the question. The thought of sneaking in intimidated Lilly anyway, seeing as how she had always been the type to follow the rules. There had to be another way in though, maybe someone could help her? All she needed to do was meet an official or noble who might have access to the inside. Would any of the guards recognize her last name Stone from her father's visits here?
With little hope, Lilly walked towards one of the guards that had stationed himself on the opposite side of the main entrance gate. "I'm Lilly Stone, daughter of Omni Stone, Chief of the Ginsings tribe in the southern forests of the Summer Kingdom. I would like to other my medical services to the war effort. Could I come in?" she asked, trying to sound as proper as she could, waiting to see what the guard might say to her.
((Mercy, you can pretend to be the guard if you wannnt :D I'm not sure if you want anyone in the castle or not!))

Romolus looked up in the sky while still following Aaria wondering what threat could make the summer king call the aid of all the other kingdoms. This thought gave him the thought it was very bad situation and ment a huge invasion was gonna take place. This got Romolus excited for some reason, he even wondered what they looked like or what type of fighters do they have.
Romolus noticed they were halfway toward the castle after all the thinking. He looked around seeing small patrol groups heading out to scout for anything suspicious.Romolus wondered what he would do when he arrived at the castle before he reached the king. After a bit of thinking he decided to relax his brain and think of notthing and just proceed to the castle while following Aaria to it.

"Good day Miss Stone." He swept into a deep bow "I'm sure you can come in, I can take you up to the medical wing." His pale green skin flashed into the sunlight, from nbenaeth the heavy hood. He shook his head at himself, they didn't want him going out, only to be mobbed by people due to being one of the rare Spring born. The had pushed the heavy garment onto him, almost weighing as much as his slender form. He smiled at the woman, green eyes glittering in the bright sun. Looking around he noticed that more and more people seemed to be ariving, they must have been among some of the first. Mostly it was Summer folk, the peasnts taking up arms for the king. He wondered breifly what had come to their lands to make such a big fuss, no gathering of this size had been made since the war between Summer and Winter had finished. He turned, giving the small girl a short sqeeze and strode into the halls. The dark tall rooms were filled with all manour of people, they all seemed to be in a rush. At least here he could not feel the oppresive heat of summer, he was so unsued to such things. Along the long corridor hung paintings of Royalty, some in the stark contrast of sunlit beams.
"Have you ever been to war?" He asked, turning to look at his new companion. They moved through the many hallswith fluidity, this had been built for ease he decidied. I wonder if she has an idea what shes in for? He slid back his hood, not wanting to seem diseptive. A few people paused mid step, but otherwise no reaction was given. He was looking forward to meeting his felow Spring Kinsmen, aparently their were two here, one was a guest, the other worked in the gardens.
***************************************************************************************************************************************************
When the final tastes of Winter had sunk into her, she took a breath. Where has everyone gone? She shook her head, still mounted up on Sherridan. The huge cat pawed the ground restlessly, born for war by her people, she hated to be still. At least they were in the right place, war was coming and all she could hope for was luck; that her steed was enough of Spring, to have a little Foreshadow. She supposed she should help out her Kinsman, so she shifted Sherri forward at a slow lope. The stride was a dream to travel at, never getting out of breath and always at a good clip. When they came closer to Kira, she squeezed her thighs together, signalling her to slow down.
"Do you want to join me?" She gestured up beside her, smoothing a patch of Sherri's fur. The pale green iridescent in the summer light, she watched him.

Lilly couldn’t believe she was actually entering in the castle. Her dreams of seeing the inside and hopefully meeting the king would come true. And according to the guard, she would get to see the medical wing inside. She wondered what kind of methods of healing they believed in here at the castle, and if she would learn new skills while she was here. Lilly believed there was always room for improvement when it came to developing skills in medicine.
Those walking through the dark halls of the palace seemed in a rush. It was just as busy in here as it seemed to be busy outside the gates. The one thing that was familiar inside was the temperature, the warm air soaking in her skin making her feel comfortable and welcome. As the Spring guard spoke, she directed her full attention to him. He was breath taking to lay eyes on, and it really fascinated Lilly. “No, actually,” she said in response to his question, a tiny bit of shame leaking from the expression in her face. “I’ve never heard of a war before this one though. I’ve always been relatively sheltered at home, but I’m thoroughly trained in healing,” she then added, as if needing to give a valid reason for whys he was here today. “I want to help those who are sick, and I hoped the king might need more medical volunteers... Doctors in the kingdom have always been short in supply, so I’ve heard,” she said with confidence, trying to mask the anxiety in her voice. Her eyes wavered from him to the little girl he was with, then rested on the hall in front of them. Out of the corner on her eye she looked over at the Spring guard, curious as to what he would say next.

Re: [OOC] Seasons in turmoil.
But sorry guys, I don't think I want to take over as GM :/ I have lost interest in my character and I'm apart of several other Rps that take up the time I usually put aside for Rps. Sorry again! But Krazy and Laucrian, if you two want to keep this RP going, you all are more than welcome to!
and I will still be apart of Mars, of course! No worries about that one!
Re: [OOC] Seasons in turmoil.
I really apologise for my absence, I have not been able to get online for many weeks. I'v decided with my current workload I can not keep up with all 3 rps, so unfortunately I have to get rid of two :( This not one I will be carrying on with and I hope you do not hold this against me. I will hand over my role a gm to my delightful friend Echored and hope that she dosn't kill me for abandoning you all. If you would all like I can smooth out the transition and faze out my characters in a last post? I have really enjoyed this Rp with you all and want to thank you all for giving me such brilliant material to play with over the months it has run with me. The best of luck to you all and I hope to see you (possibly) when I get more time (if ever).
Your sad resigned Gm

Re: [OOC] Seasons in turmoil.
As Co GM, I am going to give you all the options on what you want to do here. We can move on from the story with what is left of us in the RP, and I can take over Mercy's characters slightly, or we can let go of the RP. Up to you guys, I just hate making you all wait. I'll post later if anyone in here is still willing to be apart of this RP!

Re: [OOC] Seasons in turmoil.
Love ya and dont wanna be a pain but i dont wanna post so early after my other anyway, less we lost most of the rest of the people rping here.
Or yea Krazy Kaine can wake me to that'd make things good also :P Im glad u have technically 2 chars lol.
Re: [OOC] Seasons in turmoil.
Krazy i hope this wont annoy you, but the time transition is actually between morning and night... we have slept the day away, not the night... most having only had a few hours and still tired. i dont know if you can change this or want to, but it would be appreciated :)
BarrettdelaZulu hey i dont know if your character wants company but iv left sherri spare and she can come join you if you like?
Since people have only taken a loose interest in the demonic creatures would everyone like them to attack or do you have plans? thanks!
