"I have a question." She half raised her hand before it dropped down by her side again. "Or I rather have questions." She took a step closer to the group in front of her. "Where are we? This place seems to be familiar yet not. None of this makes any sense." She looked at her friends then back at the pair who seemed to know each other well. "How can we get home too? I think this is all some big mistake of us being here." Aden threw in the last part hoping they would believe her. Though this place felt like a second home, she didn't want to be here. The look on Riley's face told her she didn't want to be there either. "Me and my friends were on a field trip to Alaska and we were looking at the Aurora Borealis, then everything went black." She walked over next to Riley and sat down next to her. "So I guess what I'm trying to say is, can you guys take us back home? I'm sure all of our families are worried sick about us." Aden didn't realize her shoulder was touching Riely's and the feeling of wanting to go home became stronger. What was that? She questioned removing her shoulder from Riley's.
Looking at the ground she had a bemused look on her face. What was going on here?! This kept getting creepier the longer they stayed here. She had to get home she just had to. This place was clearly not normal and the people seemed to be...mystical in some sort of way. The pair who was in front of her didn't seem like normal humans either. She really didn't want to be stuck here fro the rest of her life. Aden may have been adventurous, but she didn't want to be stuck in a strange world she knew nothing about. Aden crossed her legs over one another as she contemplated. She felt torn. A part of her wanted to stay and explore, while the other half was telling her to go home.

He turned his gaze on Azrael, nodding, agreeing with her that they couldn't seek shelter in their hideout too long. They didn't want the Lamentations to find their safe haven, and their enemies would undoubtedly be on their trail. He and Azrael were the least personable of the Paladin and were very well suited for one anothers company. They fought well together, a single look being enough for communication most of the time. They almost always agreed; but when they didn't, it often ended in blows. He watched Azrael as she addressed the Advent, asking for questions. He was glad to have her with him, he had completely forgot the confused lot needed to know what the hell was going on. He felt slightly guilty, getting worked up about Lamentation when the Advent were far from home and still didn't grasp the gravity of the situation.
Zephyr listened to Aden. He hadn't thought that they would want to go back. He looked at Azrael, knowing she knew as well as he did that they weren't going to like what he was about to tell them. He ran a hand through his hair again, looking at the ground in frustration. He looked back to Aden and met her eyes.
"The world you've entered is called Genesis. As I'm sure you've noticed, it is very different from the world you have grown accustomed to. My name is Zephyr," he paused and gestured to Rae, "this is Azrael and we are here to help you. We're called the Paladin and we're your guardians. You have all been here before, in a life you lived long ago. Your souls have been reborn into the bodies you have now, and you will start to remember yourselves in time. This world has magic, much unlike the realm you inhabited before. And not one of you is actually human." He looked away, knowing it was a lot to take in and they weren't going to believe him until they saw some proof besides his little trick with the tree. He looked back to Aden moved closer to her, softly taking her wrist. "Do you trust me?" He asked her, looking into her eyes.

Zephyr could be right and is truly looking out for them or he could be deceiving them all. A part of her trusted him and she wasn't sure why. The more Aden thought about it, the more it didn't make sense. Maybe for now she should just listen to this guy. Before she was going to say anything she felt his hand lightly grabbing her wrist. When she looked up she met his eyes shortly before her gaze fell to his hand holding onto her wrist. The feeling of honesty and truthfulness overwhelmed her. He was telling them the truth. There was also another feeling deep inside, like a sort of unrest deep within him that he was hiding. Someone after them maybe? Slowly she slid her wrist from his grasp and looked up to meet his eyes again. "I trust you." It sounded like she was a little unsure, but she was a 100 percent sure now. She didn't know how she did it, but she could feel his emotions when he touched her wrist. It was cool and spooky at the same time. "Now I know I can trust you, but there is something you're not telling us. IS there someone after us by any chance? I can't explain it but I feel like someone wants us dead."
Aden looked away for a moment feeling completely freaked out by her sudden realization. What was she going to do about this situation? Her mind was in a state of confusion and she needed to sort everything out. Something told her though she didn't have that kind of time. There was something else she noticed. Zephyr had longer canines than most people. "I know this is just random practically, but are you something other than a human?" It wouldn't shock her if he told her yes. They were already in a strange world, so why not add strange people?

"To put it simply, Zeph and I are your lifelines. With us, you live. Without us, you might as well be dead. You can just assume anyone else you see out there in the future, wants you dead unless we say otherwise." She paused for a moment and shrugged, "We don't have all the time in the world to explain right this second. There's a time and place for everything, and this isn't it." She flicked a brief glance at Zeph, then nodded towards the window where the rain was slowly hitting the glass; a sign that the storm was coming to an end. She realized maybe she could have been a little nicer, after all they didn't do anything wrong. But Rael wasn't there to sugar coat things and baby them, she was there to save their asses if they did something stupid, which was highly likely. Besides, charm was never her forte.
"Everyone should pick a weapon or two. Only take what you can carry." She gestured to the walls that adorned a variety of weapons, then walked towards Ryu, who was still resting in the window seat. She nudged his leg with her boot to wake him up, then flicked a brief glance at Zeph, meeting his blue eyes with her silver ones. It was time to move out, and they needed to do it quickly if they wanted to avoid a bump in with an obnoxious Lamentation. She was just glad to get out of the cramped hideout and into the forest again. Just sitting around would bore her to death. She turned and started walking towards the door, then paused and glanced over her shoulder at Aden before she opened it.
"By the way, none of us are human." She said in response to her last question, then pulled the door open and disappeared through it, closing it behind her without a sound. She stepped out into the forest and stepped away from the tree, her eyes sliding over the area around them as light rain drops hit her creamy vanilla cheeks. It wouldn't be long before the Lamentations caught wind of what was going on.

Zephyr carefully watched Aden as Azrael informed them that they weren't human. He knew none of them would take that news very well. He looked back to the door as Rae left, understanding her impatience. He looked back to Aden, Ryu, and Riley. "Don't be afraid. You're not monsters. You'll be much stronger once we are able to train you. I know none of you ever felt like..." he trailed off, struggling for the right sentiment, "You never felt like you belonged. Once your powers return to you, you will feel very much at home." He assured them with a somewhat severe look. He turned back to the closet and put his cloak back on, letting his mask drape around his neck. He then opened the door Rae closed, waiting for them to select their weapons and return to the forest.
Their safe house would be compromised now that the storm he had brewed had dissipated. If he hadn't used the magic to forge the shortcut and they ventured here on foot, they would be safe from the Lamentation's attempts to trace them. But now they would need to travel somewhere else to keep their home off their enemies' radar. Zephyr knew the safest place would be with a Wizard he and Rae knew named Stetson. Stetson kept himself out of the battles between the Paladin and Lamentation, but he had worked with Rae and Zephyr on some of their missions that weren't politically charged. He was powerful and a bit of a womanizer and a lot crazy, but, he owed he and Rae a favor and now seemed like a good time to call it in. He decided he would run it by Azrael and see if she agreed.
Zephyr was also beginning to worry about how quickly the Advent would come into their true forms. He was already suspecting that Ryu's sickness was the start of his change. Riley was a shifter; he wasn't familiar with what she would be going through. Aden would probably have the hardest adjustment period. She would feel the insatiable thirst first. She would inevitably have to ingest blood, and that certainly could take some getting used to. He didn't know how soon it would happen, but he hoped he would have the chance to prepare her before it did.

Truth be told, she thought she would do more harm than good if she grabbed anything. As Aden walked along the wall her eyes fell on a pair of crescent blades. After picking one up she grabbed the wrong end causing the blade to cut her hand. Instead of screaming out in pain, everything seemed to not matter except for the crimson running down her hand. The smell was so strong to her. It sparked her interest as to what other people's blood smelled like and...tasted like. Aden quickly found a piece of cloth and tied it around her hand. The smell of blood was stuck in her mind now. She picked the blade back up and placed it along with the other one, around her waist. She managed to find a belt that could hold both the blades around her waist so she didn't have to carry them. "Okay guys let's get going so now." Her voice was a little raspy and she was sure why right now. Taking a deep breath her eyes were taken away from her friends when she heard Zephyr talking again.
She knew she could trust him in what he was saying to them, so she nodded her head showing she agreed with him. Turning back to her friends she nodded her head in the direction of the door. "I know we can trust them." She spoke in a more soothing tone than before. Turning her back to them once again, she headed for the door and walked out of it. Stepping outside felt so much better than that cramped room they were all in. Aden stood next to the door waiting for her friends to all come out. Her eyes managed to wonder back down to her hand. She was staring at it watching some of the blood beginning to sink through the cloth. It put her in a trance like state until she snapped her attention away to look forward again. It was so hard to try and not think about the blood coming from her hand right now. Running her good hand through her hair, she sighed as she waited.
