Fish scattered in a flurry as a large mass crashed into the water with a resounding splash. It was all the creature could do to keep patiently waiting for a fresh meal. As much as humans intrigued her, she had no intention of revealing herself to such loud and disruptive ones. Despite how much more isolated this part of the cove usually was, every now and then humans came by and liked to dive and jump off the cliff into the water, usually with several others in tow and making a large ruckus. They would always climb back out of her watery home and scramble back up to repeat the actions until they would finally tire of the game. It was only when they left that she would be able to hunt in peace. Bit by bit, the cove resumed it's normal atmosphere, and the fish went about in casual formations.
Finally, in a flash of white and grey, the fish was ensnared in sharp, predatory teeth, practically swallowed whole by the seal. A few more rapid darts and flicks of the sleek head, and she was content. Now that she was full, the seal decided a nice nap in the late afternoon sun was in order.

Cautiously gliding through the cool depths of her watery home, the mammal inched towards the surface, her whiskery nose poking out above the surface.
With a sudden movement, the creature swam towards the shore, hiding under a canopy from an outwardly jutting expanse of rock. Looking around once more and sniffing the air for any sign of a human, she deemed it safe to come out. She began to shift and squirm, shedding the sleek, velvety smooth and slippery seal skin. Her pale skin was warmed by the sunlight. She had about an hour before it would begin to set, and she intended to enjoy it.

Raven was running in the forest holding his pistol in his hand. ”Damnit, where it went” he whispered between his gritted teeth. He had tracked a werewolf that was causing troubles in the nearby city. He had been chasing it three days and everyday it had escaped. ”Grah!” he hit a tree with his fist. Raven felt he was failing at his job. At least that pooch hasn't been able to cause anymore problems. ”And it won't as long as I stay here.”

Raven looked around him. It would be waste of time to continue the hunt. He wasn't that good tracker. He was better at actual killing. He saw the lake shimmering in the sunlight between the trees. Raven decided to go swimming. To wash of his sweat from running all day.

But when he arrived to the road between the forest and beach, he froze. ”That's not an ordinary human” he thought in his mind. He had an ability, an instinct, that let him know when there was a paranormal creature around. Raven put his weapon back to the holster in his belt and made sure it was covered by his jacket. He slowly walked next to the woman.

”It's a lovely day, isn't it?"

Just as the young woman felt her body begin to relax and drift into the beginning of sleep, a sound reached her ears, a very unfamilliar sound. Cracking open an eyelid to bark at what she assumed would be some animal bothering her, she lept up in surprise when she saw a human. "Kiiiii!" she trilled, grabbing her pelt and hiding behind a large rock.

A human, how had he snuck up on her?! Usually she was more careful. Her heart was racing, and while it was out of fear for her pelt, there was an unmistakeable excitement bubbling inside. An actual human, up close and trying to communicate with her! She'd never been so close to one, and despite her trpidation, the selkie maiden couldn't help but peek out from behind the rock, pelt clutched tightly in front of her.

" ....orf!" she let out a seal 'bark', tilting her head and taking one step closer. Dare she approach this one? So far he didn't seem threatening. Her wide eyes watched him like a hawk. If only she could understand what he was saying!

”Definitely not a human.” Before Raven was able to say anything his cell phone started to ring. ”Hello? No. It got away again.... No... Yes.Yes. And now when you called...” Raven glanced over the seal woman. He wasn't sure if the creature could understand what he said. It could even pretend not to speak human language. ”Do you have records about paranormal that looks like a woman but talks like seal?” he lowered his voice. ”Oh really? That's interesting. Thanks. I'll call you later.” He said after another pause and put his phone away.

Raven looked back at the woman and sit on the ground. ”I have no idea if this works but let's see...” ”Do you understand what I say? One umm...bark? is yes, two is no.” he tried to sound friendly but it wasn't his nature. He stared at the sea and the sun that was now slowly setting down.

Looking at the male human with a confused, albeit inquisitive look, the female slowly began to approach. Keeping the seal pelt close to her in a vicelike grip, she squeeked and dove behind the rock once again at the unfamiliar ringing sound of the phone. She peeked over the rock and only dared to re emerge when the human put the odd looking object away.

Hesitating a second, the young woman carefully tip-toed closer, relaxing as the male sat down on the sand. So far he was still being unthreatening, and taking this as a positive sign, she decided to take advantage of this rare opportunity to study the land beings. Taking careful note of his position, the seal girl approached until about a foot of space was between them, sitting down exactly as the human sat, pelt still clutched tightly to her chest.

After a few brief seconds of mimicking the posture of the human, she pointed to him, tilting her head curiously. She didn't understand any of the strange noises! How frustrating! Well, perhaps he could teach her?

"Kii...ikki?" she trilled, pointing at the man. First thing first, might as well know what to call the creature in front of her.

Glancing over the woman who now tried to sit like he did, Raven let out a little laugh. He didn't really care about the seal, but tried to act friendly just like before. ”I think it's no then” he said to her answering in his own question. ”Unless she's faking it.”

The woman was so close to him. His job would be easy, but he had to make sure he wouldn't scare her away. If she had gone to the water, he wouldn't have no chances to execute his plan.

”Me?” he asked confused when the selkie pointed at him. ”I'm Raven.” he said using his last name. He hated his first name. Especially at work his team mates were always teasing him about it. Calling him ”hunter Hunter”.

He changed his position, straightened his legs and leaned backwards palms against the sand. He wasn't too relaxed in order to move quickly when needed so once again he was acting.

The selkie maiden listened attentively, beaming as he answered her inquiry. Not bad sounding. She pointed at him, going over the sounds in her head and repeating them.
"Me...I'm R-Raven!" she chimed happily, smiling proudly at pronouncing it.

As soon as the human changed his position, she sat up, adjusting her body so she mimicked him once more. "Me I'm Raven!" she repeated, showing him she remembered his words. What else could he teach her? The seal girl looked thoughtful. Seeing a small shell, she picked it up eagerly, not caring what it was so long as she could be taught. "Kii?" she asked again, pointing to the shell in her hand.

”She can talk? Or is she just miming me in everything?” ”You're not a raven, you're a seal, at least I think so” Raven said to her.

When selkie showed the shell Raven moved a bit closer to the her taking the shell in his left hand, ”This is a shell. And this...” he quickly draw his gun from his belt and pointed it to her chest, now standing over her, ”...is a pistol. Now be a good seal, or what ever you are, and come with me. I have a car just a little further away.” Raven was threatening her coldness in his voice.

He knew it was a risk to try capture her now but he was going to try it. If the seal would go to water he had no chances. Or if someone would come swimming or jogging to the beach he had no explanation why he was pointing a woman with a pistol. Most of the humans weren't aware of these creatures. When someone was found dead in the dark alley they were blaming gangs, not werewolves.

Raven still hold the shell in his left hand. He looked at it and put it in his pocket. He had no idea why he did that, but then he focused on the selkie again.

As the human continued to speak, the selkie eagerly prepared to repeat him, but grew dismayed as he kept going. Wait, he was teaching too fast! It was only then she realized that he couldn't possibly be saying just words, but whole phrases or expressions. Well that was no fair! That didn't help her learn at all. The pale woman looked deflated, pouting at the realization.
She wanted him to teach her! Deciding to try again, she pointed to him, about to ask what he was called when the human took the shell from her, standing with it and pulling out a strange item.

The selkie reached out to touch the odd looking object in his hand, but paused mid-reach at his cold, harsh tone. Tentative eyes looked up at him as the item was inches from her chest. Was he giving it to her? But why would he sound so scary? Had she done something bad? She let out a soft whine, holding her pelt with only one hand now, reaching for the item in his right hand once more.

"oooourf.....?"

Raven stepped back when selkie reached his gun. ”What the hell you think you're doing!” He stared the woman for a while. ”Can she really be that stupid...” ”Okay, look.” he said and pointed his pistol to a small, wooden boat nearby. He aimed and then... a gunshot. Now there was a bullet hole in the boat.

He looked back at the selkie, pointing her with the pistol again and took handcuffs from his pocket with his other hand. ”Are you coming by yourself, or do I have to use these handcuffs?” Raven asked slowly showing the handcuffs in his hand.

The selkie jerked her hand back at his motion, confusion in her face as he shouted. What had she done wrong? Was that his weakness? She had no time to dwell on it, the strange object pointed away from her and at a floating vessel she'd see every so often. It currently was idle, but the loud bang and the sudden hole made her jump, leaping back in fright.

When she turned to regard her human in search of answers, he was pointing the item at her again, his other hand holding another strange device. Suddenly the warning bells went off like alarms in her mind, his intentions clear. He was a predator.

Eyes narrowing, the female growled, baring her teeth in warning as she turned and ran. Heading towards the rocks, she scurried as fast as she could to take cover, frantically moving to slip the seal pelt back over her bare body. Her hands shook with fear as she realized how close it was, how much danger she was in. Faster! She needed to get the pelt back on to swim away!

”Damn it!” Raven run after the selkie when she tried to escape. He know he couldn't mess up now. Luckily for him he had gotten pretty fast from running after all the creatures. When he was close enough, he jumped on top of her, trying to reach her hands in order to put the handcuffs.

The selkie had pulled her pelt up to her waist, chest and up still bare and visible. She let out a startled yelp upon being tackled, her struggling increasing in it's ferocity. No! She couldn't let him touch her pelt! Like any animal feeling threatened, she reacted agressively in self preservation. Whipping her head with the same speed she used to catch fish in her jaws as a seal, the selkie girl bit his left wrist as hard as she could.

"ARGH!" The woman was biting him and Raven dropped the handcuffs he had had in his hand. He still had his pistol in his right hand and he shot selkie's shoulder, hoping that it would let go off his hand.

After that he quickly reached the edge of the pelt starting to pull it off her. ”Don't think I'm amateur in this job.” he said coldly smirking.

The selkie's victory was short lived, the human retaliating quickly as well, the strange device pointed at her and letting out a deafening bang, pain suddenly shooting through her entire shoulder. With a loud cry of pain and shock, the selkie let go of his wrist, clutching the now bleeding shoulder as the crimson liquid stained her pale skin. She looked up at the human, feeling her pelt get tugged on. With a cold dread, she she cried out, a whimpering plea from her heart and soul, eyes wide and frantic, He was taking it! She'd be stripped of her home! Panicked and now desperate to flee, she lunged at the human, reaching for her pelt as she did so. Nothing else mattered, if she lost the sealskin, she was doomed.

"Stay still." Raven gritted his teeth. Since when all these creatures had become this fast and strong? Raven tried to hold the selkie down and at the same time he ripped her pelt lower. The pain in his wrist grew every time he moved it, but he had to keep the pistol in right hand as long as it still was unharmed. "This would be easier if you cooperated. I can't kill you. I just need you to come with me."

He pointed the pistol to selkie's other shoulder. "I prefer not to hurt you but if you give me no choice..." his voice was cold and blunt again.

The selkie flinched, whimpering as her shoulder trailed blood, pain further weakening her already tiring efforts. She made no move to harm the human any more, simply clinging to her pelt as he tugged it towards him. Tears welling in her eyes, she began to cry in fear, pain, and in a desperate plea to him. His cold voice earned sorrowful eyes, the seal girl trying to pull the pelt back up over her body even as he tugged and had more than half in his grasp. Had she the ability to speak his tongue, she'd be begging him to let go of the precious sealskin. It was her lifeline, and her freedom. She was still young knowledge-wise compared to her family, but she knew that losing her pelt was the worst fate for her kind.

As selkie began cry Raven just took better hold from her pelt pulling it down again. ”You can cry as much as you want. This is remote place. No one hears you.” his expressions stayed as cold and uncaring as before. ”Don't worry. When we arrive to the place I'm going to take you, I'm sure they'll treat you well, seal.” he laughed. It wasn't friendly laugh. It was laugh from predator who knew the prey was already his.

Quickly he took the handcuffs from the ground, reaching selkie's hands trying to chain her.

The cold metal of the cuffs latched around the left wrist of the selkies human body, earning another poingnant cry of distress as she pulled away, trying to reclaim her pelt. He was taking it, and she was losing! Crying more, she reached desperately for it as he tugged it down off her body. She had no idea what his words meant, but the tone was enough to tell her that he was a predator. He was not going to show her mercy. His harsh laugh made her cringe, crying increased.

"Hhhauuuuu! Aaauuuuuuuuuooooo auuf!" her wails became frantic, her eyes locked on the pelt. Nothing else mattered, just the pelt. She didn't want to follow him!

"Shut up!" he slapped the selkie on the face. He pulled the pelt once more ripping it of from her.

Raven sat on the ground sighing quietly. There was no way she could escape now. Hands chained together and her pelt in his hands. Raven smirked. His wrist had a burning pain but he didn't even notice it.

"Now then." he rose up and walked next to the woman taking his jacket off. There was another pistol and a knife hanging in his belt. "You're coming with me" Raven placed his pistol back and grabbed selkie's shoulder trying to lift her up.

The slap startled the girl, the last effort enough to allow him the chance to snatch her pelt away once and for all. She squealed in pain, crying as he helt the pelt away from him. As he subdoed her, she considered hissing, but her grief and a fear of him retaliating by damaging the pelt kept her from doing so. Instead, she looked up at the human, pain and helplessness in her eyes.

His every movement made her flinch away from his touch, but she dared not resist even if she could. He held her pelt, and now she was bound to him so long as he had it. Fresh tears trailed down her cheeks as she stood on shaky legs, a whimper meeting his actions and his unfamiliar harsh sounds.

With no choice but to obey, the selkie followed the human she had originally found so facinating. Now, she felt nothing but dread and regret for being foolish enough to trust one. She should have fld upon seeing him. Now she was paying with her freedom. Soft whimpers were all she answered with as she scurried to keep up. Had the human not ensnared her, she might havebeen facinated by wearing his own 'pelt', curious about if his was a lifeline as well. As it was, she couldn't bring herself to care, to wrapped in her sorrow to pay it any mind.

Fearful eyes met the large object the human manipulated, revealing a cluttered space inside with soft looking ledges. What manner of thing was this? Was this to be a cage? The girl sniffled, looking mournfully at her captor, eyes locked on the pelt he held out of reach of her cuffed hands.
Shivering, she looked to the small metal 'cave' in uncertainty. As new and facinatingas this could have been, all she saw was a cage. "Kii..."

A yelp of distress met the grab at her shoulder, the wound still blood-covered and burning with a sharp pain. Shoved none too gently into the backseat, the creature curled up into a ball, crying as though her heart would break. After another bout of her misery, she was brought to hiccuping whimpers as her stress wore her down a bit. Noticing her pelt was not too far, she slowly reached a hand out towards the precious skin. She was so close, just an inch more...

A sudden halt brough her slamming her face against the back of the seats, a seal 'bark' meeting the impact as the momentum flung her forward. Rubbing her face and wincing in pain, the selkie reached for the pelt once more, only to jump at the loud gunshots. The same sound as before, and she instinctively jerked back in fear, her shoulder reminding her of the pain. Heart hammering in her chest, she felt it skip in fright, looking torn between trying to hide from the item that made her hurt, and reclaiming her pelt when the human wasn't watching it. Could he see her still?

She inwardly bemoaned her missed opportunity as the human continued to transport them in his strange cage, the female curled up in the seat until he stopped again, this time her door opened. Scrambling to get out, she stumbled, falling to her knees in front of the human, yelping in pain as the movements jarred her injuries. She looked up sadly, pitifully at the human, willing him to return her seal skin.

”GET UP!” he yelled tired of this selkie. He reached the pelt form the car, locked doors and then grabbed selkie's arm forcing her up. Without saying anything Raven started dragging her towards the door, pushing her inside and the dragging her again. They came to the third floor and he took a key and opened the door throwing selkie inside closing the door behind him.

The apartment was small, there was only one room. In one corner near the door was a tiny kitchen. In the opposite side of the room there was a door leading to bathroom. In his apartment was only few furniture: couch and drawer next to it, closet, two tables which other had TV, that looked brand new compared to other stuff in the room, and couple of chairs.

Raven walked over to a closet where was a locked drawer. He stuffed the pelt in it and locked it putting the key to the pocket of his trousers. In the same pocket was also a key to handcuffs. Next he walked over the selkie and took his jacket of from her. He put it in a closet, took his shirt of throwing it to a chair. He walked over to fridge and opened the door only to realize it was empty. After searching a while he found few crackers and an apple. Raven finished them quickly and walked to couch then.

He laid down without even glancing over the selkie once.

Yelping again as he grabbed her, the selkie whined as her shoulder stung sharply, the rough treatment irritating the torn up flesh and the bullet rubbing as it was still lodged in her shoulder. Blood trickled from the wound, the girl prevented from trying to nurse it for the time being.

As she found herself in a strange landscape that seemed confined to a large box, the selkie girl stood in stunned silence before letting out a squeek as her pelt was sealed away inside a small box. The warmth of the human pelt was gone as well, now only wearing the cold cuffs on her wrists. Trembling from cold, large eyes watched the human with trepidation, the selkie curling up by the box with her pelt. Taking the chance to look at her wound for the first time, she tried to bite back a whimper, eyes squeezing shut as the pain laced through her shoulder again. Craning her neck, she began to gingerly lick at the wound in an attempt to soothe the pain. She flinched, pulling back when this failed to yield satisfactory results.

Sad, in a great deal of pain, and at a loss of how to relieve her predicament, the seal girl glanced at the assortment of items in the room, seeing nothing of immediate concern until a soft looking material caught her eye. Picking it up slowly, the blanket felt soft and warm, comfortable like her pelt, but without the safety and smell. Wrapping it around herself, the selkie was glad at least her cold was resolved.

As the human lay down, she turned to the box he closed her pelt in. First, she tugged at the handle, no significant results. She poked it, rubbed it, hissed at it, and then began to claw at the drawer, her nails and the cuffs scraping against the wood as she tried to free her sealskin.
