"Miss, please, you need rest." tried the medic again, only to have the selkie scurry around to the other side of the bed, shaking her head. "Kiii!" she trilled again, looking confused as Raven spoke to her. As before, she had no clue what he was saying, only recognizing one word: pain.
"Pain?" she tried again, softer and as a question. It didn't matter that he told her to not cry, a tear trailed down her cheek, more threatening to follow.

The medic looked on in stunned disbelief, turning to her fellow paramedics and the officer with a questioning look. What was she to do? She had planned on keeping the girl in a room at the other end of the bay. She doubtd she'd get the girl to cooperate though.

"Well, if she really would feel less stressed out knowing what happens to him, I guess she should just stay in this room too. I'll just watch both of them." decided the officer with a shrug, trying to puzzle why the girl was so worried about a guy who admitted to shooting her.

"Are you sure? Is that too much to ask of you off-"
"Nah, it's fine. If I need backup, I'll call for it. I can't say I understand why she cares so much, but if the patient is going to freak out this much, I don't see much harm in leting her rest in the same room."
"Thank you officer, if you're sure, I guess it's worth a try." the medic pointed to the empty bed not three feet from Raven. "Rest, it's ok. We won't move you." she assured, moving aside for a doctor to take over.

"I want an IV going and get me a morphine drip. We'll need x-rays, CT scan, and bandage supplies. Be ready to call down to surgery if needed." instructed the doctor, pausing only as the medic relayed the information to him about Raven and the selkie before she'd hand them off to him and his attending nurses.

"You thought you needed self defense from this girl?" asked the officer doubtiously, brow arched. The selkie relaxed slightly after the medic backed off, returning her attention to Raven. "H-hauu kii.."

Raven gritted his teeth once more when no one noticed. Not only the officer was staying in the room, now the selkie too! Raven looked at the woman and forced himself to smile again. "Of course she can stay. I'm not going to hurt her. And answer to your question, officer, haven't I already said it? She's not an ordinary woman. She's seal. Have you ever seen the teeth seals have? They can tear your flesh."

As Raven was talking his attention focused on one nurse. "Is she... a mythical creature?" he thought in his mind. "She has to be. My skill...it's never been wrong." He kept staring the woman now. Should he tell about her? Perhaps that would convince the officer he was truly crazy. But what was she? Raven wasn't entirely sure. An elf? Or something else? Something more dangerous? Could he take the risk that he would be murdered in hospital bed during the night?

He still kept his eyes on the woman. "You..." he said quietly.
"Y-yes?" the nurse asked in surprise.
"Are you...?"
"Am I?"
Raven shook his head. "N-nothing." He wouldn't take the risk yet.

The officer took a seat near the door, rolling his eyes at Raven and looking annoyed with the man's rantings. "Look, enough. Stop insulting the girl. I dunno why on earth she's so worried about you when you shot her and who knows what else, but no matter what her situation is, I can tell you she ain't a seal. And those look like human teeth to me." With this, the officer went quiet, suspicion in his eyes as Raven began to stare in an unnerving way at ne of the nurses.

"No harassing the staff." the police warned, looking up as some ER nurses returned, prepping Raven with an IV catheter, braces, and getting ready to wheel him to the radiology department.

The selkie once more began to show signs of distrust and anxiety at the flurry of attention. Thankfully, the officer felt a little better knowing what his partner did worked.

"WE can go with him ok? He gets a picture taken is all, pretty loud, but not dangerous at all...um..no pain" he said gently, shaking his head at the word 'pain'.

"Kiiii?" The selkie looked at Raven for reassurance, grabbing his still handcuffed hand.

"Standard procedure. I need the left leg and a upper torso shot for so. Then we'll get a quick CT scan before admitting him." instructed the attending ER doctor.

"I'm not insulting her. She is a seal! That pelt is a proof!" Raven shout in frustration and anger. He then tried to calm himself down. "And I'm not harassing her. I thought...I just thought she might me one of them. But I'm not sure..." he said. "Very well, let's play it this way then." he thought in his mind. "I'm not saying she is one. I'm just guessing."

When selkie grabbed his hand he let out a little sigh. Would she ever let him alone? Raven nodded to her. "No pain" he repeated.

"Allright, you're gonna have to pardon me for being unprofessional here, but do you have rocks in your head? That girl ain't a seal. I don't care what kind of pelt she has, it doesn't make her an animal. People wear animal skins around the world. I don't know why she has it, but I seriously doubt it's because she's a seal." berated the officer as he stood up, getting ready to leave and follow the attending nursing staff once they came back to wheel Raven to the radiology department.

The officer looked less than pleased at Raven's explanations. Maybe the man was a little off his rocker. He put on a good act, that was for sure. "She's a seal too? Look, enough bullcrap. Now you're just being deliberately delusional. Make this easier on yourself and stop with the theatrics." the officer folded his arms over his chest, watching as the selkie girl dropped the sheet, holding only her pelt over her shoulders as she peered down at Raven.

His affirmation earned a tilt of the head, computing the answer before she smiled. "Kiiii, no pain!" He shook his head, so he must mean the opposite of 'pain.' And this word 'no' So 'no' before the word meant not that word? Pleased she figured it out, the selkie let out a happy bark.

The officer watched, careful to keep his eyes only on her head, silently motioning to a passing nurse for help. Someone get a gown for her.

"Allright, we're ready for him. Let's get a CT scan first." the doctor came back, giving out instructions. This time, they began to wheel out Raven, the selkie looking freaked out once more.

"ooouuuuuuurf!"

"It's allright, follow." the officer interjected, gesturing for the girl to follow him as he walked at one side of the gurney. The strange female seemed glad for the helpfulness of the human, blissfully unaware of his quick explanation to the doctor. She smiled at Raven. "Kiiii!"

”Finally” Raven thought in his mind. The doctors had taken all sort of tests and examined him quite some time. At last he could just rest without everyone circling around him. He laid down on bed closing his eyes when he heard couple of words behind the door, that was slightly open.

”...take to police station.”

Raven gulped. How stupid he had been? He had forgotten the police officer watching him. He should think a way out of this mess, not focusing on sleeping. Could he keep his ”I'm crazy” -act on? It would be easy. He didn't have to lie. He could tell his encounters with werewolves, vampires, those dark creatures wandering in their city. But what if that would go through. Then he would be in mental hospital. There would be even tighter security. What the hell he could do?! There had to be something. He had to escape before his nerves would crack even more. But how?

The selkie girl had kept a close vigil during Raven's three day stay in the hospital ward, earning her sympathetic and confused looks throughout. Word spread from the emergency room to the upstairs inpatient ward of how a strange young woman wouldn't leave what most suspected was an abusive and bizzare relationship. It took a while, but the nurses finally managed to entice her to wear a hospital gown if nothing else. She still clung to the pelt with an almost obsessive ferocity, but she behaved well enough as long as no one bothered her pelt or made Raven hurt.

The selkie in question was wary of most of the staff, but seemed content enough so long as Raven or the officer were nearby.
She had been absent for several minutes, returning as Raven overheard the conversation. She aroused no suspicion, and the officer and attending physician were too focused on the issue of the patient to mind her.

The selkie let out a soft chirp upon seeing Raven, both hands held closed beside each other over her chest. As she approached his bedside, she lowered her hands, licking her lips in anticipation of her fresh caught meal. A white and orange koi fish had the misfortune of becoming her meal, the selkie having pilfered one or two each day. She was completely unaware of the bafflement of the hospital staff as they noticed their decorative indoor fish pond near the front desk losing more and more fish, with no remains or clues as to why. Her only concern was the potential to run out of food.

About to bite into the fish, the selkie paused, noticing that her human seemed upset. Was he in pain? Hungry? Looking worried, the girl frowned, trying to think of some way to help. She didn't have anything. Oh! With a smile, she held out the fish to Raven. Surely a nice fresh meal would make him feel better! Despite being on the shorter side for her tastes, the koi was plump and juicy. She hadn't seen him eat any fresh looking food since she met him. Perhaps that was why he was so grumpy! The girl wondered why she hadn't thought of that before.

His thoughts were interrupted when the selkie stepped into the room. He had already submitted to the fact that the woman didn't want to leave from his side. He started to wonder if he'd went to mental hospital would he then get rid of her. In jail he surely would, but he wanted to avoid that destiny. He also cursed his laziness in his mind. Many times he had thought of gettin a lawyer to himself, but he never did. Now he would pay for his stupidity.

Again Raven's thoughts were disturbed when selkie offered something to him. He looked down on her hands. A koi-fish? He looked at the fish and then to selkie. Of course he had heard when the doctors were talking about disappearance of their precious fish. Suddenly Raven burst out laughing. Why hadn't it come to his mind before? It all made sense: she was seal, seals ate fish. It was so clear now. And maybe he could use this as an advantage as well?

His sudden laughter made the nearest nurse run into room. She was the same woman Raven had already recognized as a mythical creature, but still wasn't sure what her true form really was. The nurse stopped on the door eyes widened. Did that girl have koi in her hands? She turned her head towards the hallway. ”Doc, you might want to see this.” she said.

The laugh earned a look of confusion from the selkie, but she soon smiled, pleased the human seemed happy for once. Maybe he'd take her home soon if she kept him in a good mood? It was worth a shot, and she definately didn't want to be hurt by him again.
Taking his laughter as a positive sign, the selkie girl put the pilfered fish in the male's lap, right on top of the clean white sheets draped over him.

She turned sharply at the voice of the nurse, tilting her head in confusion as the woman and moments later, the doctor, came hurrying into the room. The selkie watched them warily, letting out a soft chirp and tugging her pelt close, making sure it was still wrapped around her shoulders.

The doctor stared in stunned surprise, looking from the odd girl to his patient, then to the fish in his lap. Fish? Wait, one of their koi? Was that where they'd been disappearing to? But why would he want a koi fish?" "Sir, where'd you get that? You can't be taking fish from our pond..." he said, trying to be firm even as he struggled to puzzle out what was up with his patient and his mentally underdeveloped companion.

Raven was still chuckling when the doctor came to room. He had no idea why selkie was offering the fish to him, but the koi on his lap looked delicious for her. He was sure about that.

”Me? How you think I'd get out of this room when there's police officer outside the door?” he asked slightly irritated. He tried to stay serious when he pointed the selkie. ”She brought it.” he said chuckling. ”I have no idea why she brought it to me but I'm pretty sure she's the one behind the mystery of disapperaing kois. She's seal after all. And they eat fish.” He announced.

He looked the koi on his lap shaking his head a bit. ”When the fish started disappear? And how many days we have been there?” he asked from the doctor. It was perfect. Acting like crazy was simple and he even hadn't had to lie. ”Besides don't you have video camera or something around the pond? Why not take a look? I'm sure you'll find out that I'm telling the truth.”

He turned his head towards the selkie. ”You eat fish?” he asked ponting the koi on his lap and then selkie. He wondered what would happen if the selkie took it and ate it. How the doctors would explain that? Could they really find a reasonable reason for her to eat raw fish? He chuckled quietly just thinking about that.

The doctor and the nurse had to admit, Raven had a point when he mentioned the officer outside his room. He was kept a close eye on, so at least their patient was being honest about the girl being the one who caught the fish. The nurse hurried out to order a review of the security footage by the ward's front desk, leaving the doctor and now the alerted police officer in the room.

The doctor and officer frowned as Raven blamed the girl, calling her a seal. Flipping through the chart he had of the man, the doctor scanned the papers for any psyche exam. "We ever get a psyche exam on this patient?" he asked a passing resident working under him. The officer had heard more than enough of the seal story to expect it, though he obviously found it ridiculous.

"Again with the seal. She ain't a seal, and if she got it for food, why is she handing it to you?" he asked, reaching down to his radio. IT was time his partner and head of this case came down to collect the suspect. Besides, he recalled how his partner showed just as much concern for the young woman as he did. He took a step back to make the call to his partner, hoping he wasn't interrupting anything too important.

"Kii!" the selkie chirped, looking confused. The human seemed like he was upset and happy. Which was it? And he stil wasn't eating! Lifting the fish up, she nudged it closer, offering it once more. "Kii...Kii!" she tried, wondering if he needed encouragement.

"Even if she is the one grabbing them..." the doctor answered Raven, looking from him to the eccentric girl at his bedside "...You needed to inform someone if you knew this." The doctor sighed, finding the girl's behavior unlike anything he had personally come across. If this was a neglect case, it was an unusual and rather sad one. She was presenting almost exactly like the feral children phenomenon.

"Look, I didn't know about this. This is the first time she's offering fish to me" Raven said waving his hand when selkie tried to give fish to him. "I'm not eating it. Not. Eat." he said shaking his head and hoping selkie would understand it. "I don't even know why she brought it to me in a first place. I only realized when seeing her with the fish. I have been so stupid. I should have realized before she has been eating them."

Raven couldn't helped laughing in his mind. He was telling the truth all the time. Even if the cops decide to put him in the lie detector test, he would have nothing to worry about. They couldn't throw him in jail. Or well... maybe they could, but as long as he'd stay in the seal-story, in truth, he had a chance to avoid it.

If she just could talk, if she just understood what was going to happen to him because of her. Would she treat him differently? Or would she told her own version story? How he had chained her and tried to beat her up. Suddenly he realized that they were probably observing his behaviour and how his expression changed. He shook his head. "Damn headache"

The police officer who had come in the accident place first, got call from his partner. "No, nothing important going on. I'll head to there." he said and hung up. It took about twenty minutes for him to get to the hospital. He parked his car behind the building so it wouldn't arouse any unnecessary attention and walked inside. The nurse in the reception told him directions and he walked to his partner. "Give me a recap what's happened in here. All the paperwork of the accident has been already made and as soon as he's ready to go we can get going. My car is in the backyard." he said quietly knowing their suspect was behind the room.

The selkie girl looked deflated, letting out an uncertain squeak. Her human shook his head and said the 'no' sound again. He didn't want the fish? Was he not hungry? Or did he not like the fish she offered? "Kii?" she lowered the fish, holding it in her lap and looking torn. She wanted to eat it, but she had already offered it to the human. Besides, she still didn't know how to keep him happy and nice towards her.

As the doctor looked skeptical, the resident returned, quietly informing the doctor that Raven had not had a psyche evaluation. He asked if a referral should be put in to get the man properly examined. As the physician gave the instructions for the order to be put into the computer, he looked over at the woman for what had to be at least the twelfth time and wondered how she could have gone unrecorded and unregistered in any way. As far as documentation went and social security, the girl didn't exist. No birth certificates, no name, no address, no belongings, no registered fingerprints, nothing.

Brought back to his patient as Raven remarked about a sudden headache, the doctor felt doubtful. But, he knew to not jump to conclusions in medicine. That was the surest way to overlook something or make a mistake. "Did it just start Mr. Raven? Is it limited to just one part of your head? Are you feeling any dizzyness? Do you feel nauseous at all?" he asked, rattling off questions to try and get a better idea of the cause. Was it a migraine? A physical injury? Dehydration? So many subtleties in a headache.

Officer Braun turned at the sound of his partner, approaching and speaking in a low voice as well, every so often glancing back at the door and the suspect. "Sorry I haven't submitted my portion of the report. The hospital found multiple fractures, some minor internal bleeding, and he had a concussion, but he was stabilized and is expected to make a full recovery. The girl was treated for cuts and abrasions, a gash, her shot wound, two fractures, and some dehydration. She still has no known records, and no one knows her name. It's odd, she's refused to leave him since, and just now brought a fish in as some sort of present." Facing his partner full on now, Officer Braun shook his head, running his hand through his hair. "He admitted to shooting her when I questioned him in the ambulance. He claims he feared she'd kill him and shot her in self defense, then bandaged the wound afterwards because he realized he was wrong. The suspect also admitted to chaining her with handcuffs, again saying she was trying to struggle and hurt him. The weirdest part is he keeps claiming she's a seal."

Raven looked at selkie who seemed really depressed. Just because of he hadn't taken the fish? Once again he wished they had a common language. He looked at the female nurse who come back to room and said something to doctor quietly. Raven heard a couple of words. "...video...girl....the pond...." He just hoped they had seen her taking the fish. Maybe even eating them?

When the doctor started questioning him Raven looked at him. "It started just now and I'm feeling a little dizzy." he nodded trying to sound as natural as possible. Couldn't they just end up this torturing? When he said one word it brought up three more questions. He started to realize there was no way out of this. He wanted to stop talking but it would make his situation even worse.

He was observing the nurse again when the thought hit him. He was sure she was a creature. Maybe she could talk with her? "Do you happen to be a mermaid?" he asked from her. "I was just wondering if you two have a common language." he said pointing the nurse then the selkie. The nurse looked at him seeming surprised. "I have no idea, what you're talking, mister. I can guarantee I'm not a mermaid." she said professionally.
"So if I throw a water on you, you won't change to mermaid?"
"I'm sorry sir, but it doesn't work that way."
"Hah! How can you know that? You just said you're not a mermaid. How can you know they won't change when touching the water?"
The nurse looked slightly irritrated. "I meant, if you throw water on me, I'm not going to change."

Raven glanced over to flower vase that was brought on the desk next to him. Could he really throw the water on her? It would all depend what would happen after that. He had never seen a mermaid but he knew they actually changed when touching the water. He had read a lots of material regarding his work. But if she wasn't mermaid, he would be in trouble again.

The officer shook his head. "The classic "I'm crazy" -act? Or does he really believe she's seal?" he asked wanting to know his partner's opinion of the suspect. "And I hate when they always try to use self-defense as an excuse." He let out a small sigh. "This will be a long case"

The doctor recorded Ravens answers, only to look over at the strange girl as the nurse came in to explain the videos. No one had seen her eat them, but the camera did catch her snatching them with amazing accuracy from the pond and walking away with them.
The selkie girl had never eaten them where she caught them. Too many humans, and no self-preserving, intelligent creature would ever let themselves be knowingly vulnerable around so many predators. Stopping to eat was risky, and she would not risk being exposed- -no matter how briefly, to attack from other humans. She chose to eat her prizes in the corner of the room when the officer was keeping an eye outside.

The doctor's attention quickly diverted back to Raven, frowning as he asked the nurse some clearly ridiculous questions. Mermaid? What on earth was he saying? Even if such things existed, nurses, like any other medical professional, had to keep their hands clean regularly to avoid cross contamination. Everyone saw each other wash their hands in the treatment area at some point.

"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to refrain from harassing the staff." the doctor said, giving the nurse an apologetic glance. Delusional patients could be difficult to handle, especially when unprepared for them.
------

Officer Braun paused, looking thoughtful. Was Raven crazy? He found it hard to believe, especially since his 'delusions' only seemed to be in regard to his companion. Either way, this would indeed be a long case. "I don't know to be honest. I feel like he is of sound mind, seeing as he only mentions such delusions when the young woman is involved. However, a few times he seemed so adamant about it, so convinced." He sighed, shaking his head. "I know, this is definitely not going to be an open and shut case. Regardless, I honestly feel he isn't legitimately crazy. It wouldn't make sense for him to only be genuinely delusional about one person in particular." Glancing back at the room once more, officer Braun looked sympathetic. "I feel bad for her though. She shows signs akin to stockholm syndrome, as well as the possible feral child phenomenon. And to claim self defense against someone clearly so developmentally challenged? It's almost sickening..." Looking back at his partner with an apologetic look and shrug, he calmed himself down. "Sorry, I shouldn't let my personal feelings into it. Not good for trying to establish facts and an unbiased case." he said almost sheepishly, berating himself as well as apologizing for any unprofessional behavior.

Suddenly he just decided to do it. It didn't matter even if he could be blamed for harassing the staff. Nothing mattered anymore. This could end up in two ways: to his freedom or death. Raven took the vase and threw it towards the nurse closing his eyes. He heard a little scream but when we opened them up again, he saw nothing. The nurse wasn't where she was supposed to be. He looked around him confused. Where was she? Had she turned invisible?

The officer rushed into the room as soon as he heard the shout. "What's happening?" He demanded answer.

Before anyone could do anything, the doctor, nurse, and resident looked on in shock as Raven grabbed the vase, only to chuck it at the nurse without any provocation. As the vase smashed to the floor, officer Braun followed his partner into the room, urged on by the crash and the brief scream.

"Mister contain yourself!" exclaimed the doctor, looking over to see if the nurse was alright.

For a second, it seemed as if she had vanished. Upon second glance, the nurse stood up from a duck, hands over her head in a protective motion. She had seen her stepmother throw enough things to know when to duck. Behind her a mere two and a half inches lay the pieces of the vase, a pool of water touching the bottoms of her shoes.

"Kiii!" the selkie cried out, looking over at the water, then at Raven, wondering why he threw something. She was, however, glad it wasn't aimed at her.

"He threw a vase at the nurse!" the resident answered the officer in disbelief, shaking his head and looking to the doctor for any instructions.

Hearing enough, officer Braun didn't even wait for his partner's ok before taking Raven's hands and cuffing his wrists together in front of him. Even when cuffed, officer Braun didn't remove his grip from Raven's upper arm, holding him back.

"Kiiiii!" the selkie looked worried, dropping the fish in Raven's lap as she tried to push the officer away, earning a surprised look.

Raven stared the nurse confused look in his face. He had missed? How? His thoughts we're fighting against each other? Did she had that good reflexes? Maybe she was actually a supernatural creature? They were faster than humans most of the times.

His thoughts were interrupted by the officer's grib and the handcuffs snapping around his wrists. He looked up seeing the officer's irritated look. He didn't resist his grib even though he was holding him really tightly and even painfully.

”You have good reflexes.” Raven said to nurse. ”Are you sure you're not mermaid or some other mythical creature?” He gained frustrated look from the nurse. ”No. I'm not.”

”We'll take him into custody if there's nothing more” another police officer said to doctor. ”I left my car to backdoor. What about the girl? I know she wants to stay close our suspect but we can't take her with us. I'm afraid she might not handle the police station. We can't even interrogate her. Besides she seems to be in need of some kind of treatment.”

Officer Braun paused, looking worriedly at the strange young woman, abandoning her pilfered fish and looking around at the occupants of the room with uncertainty and distress. "Kiii!" she cried, clinging to Raven despite him being held by officer Braun.
She looked up at his partner, the kind human who had been able to approach her at the scene. Pleading eyes asked for his help once more, unaware he was intent on taking her human away.

The doctor looked hesitant, his resident escorting the nurse back outside the room and away from the patient who had blatantly been harassing her. He sighed, debating in his head whether or not to keep the obviously unstable man and his unusual companion. They both needed help, but aside from a psychiatrist, they had recovered enough to be discharged. His hippocratic oath dictated he help anyone in need, even if he wasn't working. The law wanted this man for what even he perceived to be a very likely case of severe neglect or abuse. What was in the best interest of his patients? The man was physically ok, and prisons had their own chancellors, priests, and psychiatrists and psychologists to take care of inmates. After all, mental health was one of the few things prisons would focus on, especially as it correlated to behavior. So would it not be beneficial for Raven to go to prison to properly punish him for crimes, and to ensure he was in a controlled environment with access to a psychiatrist?

Finally, he nodded, making a note in the chart. "Alright. He should be seen by your available psychiatrists, but otherwise he is physically healthy. As for the young woman, I don't know about her wounds, she won't let anyone bu your officer you left with us and mr. Raven to touch her. She seems to be in good health, aside from... the obvious." he said at length.

The officer nodded to doctor and walked slowly and relaxed to selkie wanting to show he wasn't a threat. Gently but firmly he guided the woman to a chair in a corner and sat her there. ”Miss, I'm going to explain what will happen next.”he said with calming voice. ”We're taking your friend to police station but I'm afraid you can't come with him. In case you try to resist my friend doctor will have to put you to sleep. No one is going to hurt you. We want to make sure you're safe.” he smiled. ”Your friend will be treated well and justly.”

As he was talking Raven fell the grip in his shoulder as he was guided to door. He didn't resist, he was too tired to all of this. He hoped the police officer who was in front of selkie, would cover enough for her not to see what was happening. He still wanted to get rid of her. She was the reason he was going to jail. But if she saw even a glimpse...Raven sighed quietly. There would be a hell. He knew that damn selkie wasn't going to leave him for what ever reason.

As she was sat down, the selkie girl squealed in protest, shaking her head at the nice human who had calmed her before. This time, she seemed to not respond to his efforts, eyes looking at him anxiously and without comprehension as he tried to explain to her. "Kiiii?" she tried, squirming in her seat, looking piteously at the officer until she noticed movement. And the bed where her human was in was empty.

The result was instantaneous. Letting out a high pitched wail, the seal-girl clutched her pelt around her shoulders as she stood up to head after the human. She shoved past the startled doctor and officer Braun, going far enough to shove officer Braun away from Raven once she reached him.

"Hhhau kiii!" she cried, looking behind frantically as the officers and doctor hurried after her and Raven. Desperate to escape, she hissed once, then snatched Raven's arm and ran. She tugged Raven along, intent on getting herself, her pelt, and Raven outside. She'd flee from all of these predators. "Kiii!" she urged him on, tugging the still handcuffed Raven along. "R-raven!"

Raven had no idea what happened as he was just running after the selkie. It was like in a dream, corridor lights flashed in his eyes as she was tugging him along. He could heard distant "Stop them!" yells from behind and rushing steps towards them. Suddenly they arrived in the lobby the receptionist and other patients looking at two of them eyes wide opened.

"SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!" the officer shouted with booming voice. The nearby guard looked shocked before realizing what I was going on. He ran to his office and hit the button that would lock the automatic doors. Raven looked the doors that were slowly closing as the selkie kept dragging him along towards them.

Raven was sure they wouldn't be able to do it in time. But just as the doors closed and locked they were out. Almost. Raven was tugging his shirt that had left between the two doors that were now tightly closed.

(( I'm back!! So sorry it took so long. And you turn to choose. Do they get away in time? ))

[[Bah! I don wanna choose! Fine... XD ]]

Somehow managing to keep herself moving without getting lost, the selkie girl clung to her pelt with one hand and Raven's wrist with the other. Fear and a desperate desire for freedom propelled her forward, determined to find the sea. She dodged the other humans with an uncanny swiftness, slipping past the doors even as Officer Braun tried to run after her, following what his partner was already shouting.

The selkie all but stumbled as resistance met her efforts to escape. Turning to hiss and bite at anyone who tried to restrain her, she froze upon seeing it was Raven. His pelt was caught in between the doors, earning a pained and distressed wail. She released his hand a moment, movements frantic as she jerked at his clothes. When that failed, she whined, leaning against the door to pry it open enough to release the human. The footsteps growing louder, she felt her panic and her fight or flight drive double in a second. Leaning with her whole body as she wormed her fingers in between the doors, she finally pried the cloth of Raven's pelt out just enough, the cloth itself giving her a hair's breath of space to hold open the doors a crack.

Letting it fall shut behind them, the selkie grabbed Raven's hand once more and ran for the parking lot, the officers following just behind the lobby doors. "Kiiiiii!" she cried, practically dragging the young man along behind her as she wove in between parked vehicles, scenic shrubbery, and startled patrons as she headed as far from the buildings as possible, looking for safety.
