Roxanna Celeste Volkner's Story

Reagan looked at Midnight and Roshia and smiled. "That cat and you are really quite a pair it seems." She chuckled. "You seem to be at each other's necks from what Freija told me... even from the short time she was with you." Reagan tried to hide her laugh but it seemed to get to her. "Anyway, I am glad you are letting me come with... I appreciate it." She nodded and proceeded to drink her glass of water.

As she put her glass down, the ground began to rumble. "What the hell is that?" Reagan wondered. Her glass was shaking violently on the wooden bar. Before she noticed it, the glass fell to the ground and shattered and she heard a fearsome roar. "What in Eden's name is that!?" She panicked. "Something big." She mumbled. The knight grabbed her spear and went out the door. "C'mon we have to check this out, it probably won't be good." Reagan said. After running towards the gate she saw a large monster, holding a chocobo in its hand and appeared to be crushing it. "Oh god, that chocobo!" She cried out.

As Reagan ran into the Wildlands, a rush of air blew past her and saw it was a spinning blade chakram. A girl in a chocobo mask came running down the hill. "Put Minni down!" She yelled at the beast.

Reagan looked at the girl. "Who are you?" She asked.

The girl smiled and put a thumb up. "Roxanna Volkner, Chocobo Knight of Bisga. Now would you mind assisting me in saving these chocobos?" She asked kindly.

Reagan nodded. "Of course." She smiled. "We gotta stop this thing before it attacks the town."

Freija, Arekkusu and Apollo ran outside and saw the huge creature. "Let's go help!" Freija shouted and drew her rapier and dashed out towards the Wildlands. "Take this!" She said as she jumped and stabbed the creature. The damage was minimal, this monster had thick skin and was very resistant. "Damn, let's find out more about it." She said and used a spell card. "Scan!" She chanted.

Rings appeared the monster. Freija got a reading of it. "High health, knows Devour, Rush, and Clobber. Weak to Fire!" She said.

Arekkusu looked at Freija. "Got it, kupo!" He said and focused his energy. "Burning rages, go!" He said and fired a blast of fire at the monster. It hit with full power and staggered the monster. "Got him, kupo!" The monster violently blindly moved around to wipe off the flames. It roared with mighty force. It began to charge towards to Apollo who had an arrow drawn and fired as it began running and gave time for him to avoid the attack.

"We have to keep it away from the town." Apollo said and ran to the opposite side of the town. "Life's divine melody, replenish those injured!" He sung and green auras emitted. Regen had been set on everyone, restoring their health over time. "We can take this thing down!" He shouted. He cast Poison on the creature but it didn't seem to work. "Shit."

Freija looked at her blade and held it in both hands. "Blades of sun and fire!" She called out. Her rapier began flaming a bit. "That should help." She smirked and ran up to the monster, swiftly dodging the swipes it flung at her. For being a large creature it moved rather quickly which wasn't good. Freija hit the creature multiple times and did some decent damage but was knocked back by the monster. "Ugh." She moaned as she got up. "I am okay." She said, brushing herself off.

Reagan ran up to the creature and with her left hand punched the monster. "Lancet!" She called out. Energy began flowing from the creature to Reagan. "Take that." She said and lept into the air and landed on the creature with her spear, removed it and backflipped off it. "What you can't see will hurt you." She taunted.

The Chocobo Knight, Roxanna threw her chakram at the monster. "Quite a sentinel that thing is!" She cursed. "Why does this always happen." Her chakram began glowing. "Shining Slash!" She called and threw her chakram at blinding speeds and immediately appearing back in her hand in an instant, the monster staggering a bit more. "Phew, thought that would work."

Arekkusu saw Roshia and her injury. "Don't worry kupo!" He cried. "We have to keep it far from the town as possible, kupo." He flew over to Roshia. "Don't fail on us now, kupo." He said, trying to keep calm. "Life's refreshing breeze!" He chanted and casted Heal on Roshia, healing her wounds. "Don't be so reckless, kupo." The moogle flew back over to the fight and began to cast his Flame spell. The beast was a tough monster, but hopefully all their power combined would take it down.

As Freija rushed toward the beast, dodging the onslaught, but one wrong maneuver and she would really feel some pain. She spun and avoided an attack and stabbed at the beast's exposed leg and tried to weaken it more, her enchanted blade dealing extra damage to the monster, it then must've been sent into a rage and swung its mighty arm, knocking Freija into the pond. "Damn creature. It's a tough one, it doesn't want to give up. I give it credit for that though, but agh, that hurt." Freija moaned, she pulled out one of her potions and drank it and recovered a bit of her health. It was enough to get back into the fight. She ran up from behind and slashed it repeatedly, this time, the monster was able to be wounded heavily, but it still didn't seem to show any signs of even weakening yet. "Here everyone." She called and casted Enfire on everyone's weapon to add fire to all of their physical attacks. "That will help."

Roxanna threw her now-flaming chakram at the leg of the beast and it quickly returned to her. The chocobo eater was in pain from the attack but recovered and picked up a large rock and threw it at Roxanna, her incredible speed allowed her to avoid the rock. "To slow for me, now try this on!" She called and used Shining Slash again, the blade disappearing and reappearing in her hands in a matter of a second and blood spilling from the monster. "Ha, too fast for ya?" She taunted.

Apollo began to sing his valiant anthem to heal his allies. "We can't give up now." He said. "Now, let's see if this works." He said and casted Poison on it. The toxic magic had managed to stick to it, and slowly but surely weakened it. "That will turn the tides, but we still got a long battle ahead of us." Apollo then drew back an arrow and the tip was ignited and fired, nailing the monster in the leg, its only visible weak spot.

"Lancet!" Reagan cried she punched the beast again to drain its energy, and stabbed it with her spear, leaving some flames left on its body that it hurried to remove. "Damn this creature is resistant, there must be some effective means to dispatch it." She said, but was hit by a massive force when it swiped at Reagan, knocking her on her back. She began to cough and wheeze, but recovered, barely. "Geez, ugh. Ahuh," She coughed. "Felt like being hit by a cannon. Good lord." She complained. "That won't stop me though." She smiled and jumped into the air. She landed on its back, stabbing it with the spear and jumping off.

The monster went on a rampage again and started to stomp around like a kid having a tantrum. Its ear-piercing roar sounded through the area. The shaking earth was not helping the warriors at all. It then picked up some rocks and threw them into the air violently, nobody knowing when they might come down, or who they would come down on.

Reagan looked at Raine and Roshia. "You two, go evacuate the citizens, it is too dangerous for them to stay here, tell them to go to Lake Shear and hide there! We don't want to risk anymore casualties then necessary."

Freija swiped and slashed multiple times at the beast on the ground. It began to flail less and less marking it was almost dead. "C'mon we can do this!" She cheered on. "Eyah!" She screamed as she impaled the chocobo eater in the abdomen. Freija's flaming rapier was practically dancing with the various slashes and techniques she was utilizing to attack the monster. A large sphere of fire hit the monster hard and Freija saw Arekkusu floating there, smiling, Freija simply smiled back.

Apollo drew another fiery arrow back and released, the arrow hitting the creature in the arm, blood began to pour out of the wound. The Chocobo Eater stood back to its feet and rammed Apollo towards a tree. He coughed up a bit of blood but was okay. "Damn thing." He cursed and got back up and used a potion to recover the wounds. "Let's go everyone! We can stop it!"

Arekkusu spun around and healed the group to completely heal their wounds. "Kupo!" The moogle stated. He then focused and let loose a large blast of Flame at the creature and knocked it back down to the ground. "Now, someone finish it off!"

Reagan dashed towards the enemy, spear at the ready and jumped into the air and aimed her spear at beast's chest and landed right on it, the monster's eye widened and it stopped completely, the body had stopped flailing, it was finally dead. Reagan stood there, panting. The soldiers had all fought well, it was a rough battle but everyone had survived and it was over. The townspeople could finally return and rebuild the two broken buildings.

The townspeople began to flock out of the Lake, and saw the exhausted soldiers standing together, overlooking the large beast that had begun to dissolve away. The Salve-Maker was the first to greet the brave soldiers. "I see my potion worked." He grinned.

Reagan nodded. "What exactly was that?" She asked.

The Salve-Maker looked at Reagan. "Sortia Vanados." The man looked at his journal. "In other words, Anit-Beast Acid." Placing the journal in his pocket and walked over to the others. "Good job, tonight, head to the tavern for a victory round on me!" He said. The group looked at the gate, countless people were smiling and cheering them on, applauding their hard-earned victory.

Freija brushed her hair out of her eyes. "The chocobos!" She remembered and looked back and saw all the chocobos reunited. Freija simply smiled and Arekkusu sat on her shoulder like always.

Roxanna walked over to the chocobos. "I will take them back to the barn. I owe you guys big time... I could have never taken on that monster, but I have never seen one before. Something had to have drawn it out of the Lake, but I have no clue... Anyway, I really do thank you, and the chocobos do too." Roxanna smiled. The family of chocobos were jumping and happily frolicking in the plains then Roxanna walked over and began to take them to the barn, mounting the largest one and riding it, the others following.

Night had already befallen Bisga and the stars were illuminating the sky, the tavern doors were propped open and bustling music and joy were bursting throughout. Freija, Apollo and Arekkusu were sitting at a large table near the middle of the tavern, waiting for Reagan, Roxanna and the others to join them.

"I can't believe it is over. That monster was vicious, I am just glad we saved the town and those chocobos." Freija said, stretching.

"You're right, kupo." Arekkusu said, sitting on the table and lifting his large glass of milk with both hands and trying to drink it without spilling it. "I was so scared, kupo. At least everyone is safe."

The Salve-Maker walked over to the table and pulled up a chair. "So, how does it feel to be heroes of this town?" He asked.

Freija took a sip of her wine and looked at the Salve-Maker. "It doesn't feel any different then before, I am just glad that everyone is okay, as well as the condition of the town... By the way, how is the reconstruction of the two buildings that were destroyed?" She asked.

"Quite a few men and women have volunteered to begin reconstruction in the morning, thanks to you, it was only two buildings, if you hadn't been here, it could've been the whole town..." A few seconds of silence arose. "Oh yes, I don't believe I ever introduced myself. I am Salve-Maker Wilhelm. Pleasure."

Freija smiled. "Freija Lynn Arior, the pleasure is all mine, you helped out a lot with that potion of yours."

"I am Arekkusu, kupo!" The moogle added. "Nice to meet you, Wilhelm." Wilhelm nodded and smiled at Arekkusu.

Apollo drank his glass of wine. "We have already met, Wilhelm... I have been here in Bisga for almost a year now I believe. Hasn't it been a year?" He asked.

Wilhelm nodded. "I think so. Wow time sure flies haha. Well, now, don't be afraid to get what you want, I mean, you did save the town and everyone in it."

Reagan had entered the tavern and looked around and saw the group at the table. She happily walked over and took a seat next to Apollo and Arekkusu. "Sorry I took so long, I must've overslept... I am sorry." She said.

"Don't worry, kupo. We are still waiting for Roshia and Roxanna." Arekkusu said, taking his glass of milk again.

Freija looked out the window. "I believe Roxanna was at the barn still, finishing up her work there, and I am not sure about Roshia, maybe she is still at the Inn. I know that Beatrix, Phoenix and Raine are at the Inn cleaning up after the battle, they will be here shortly I assume."

Wilhelm leaned back in his chair. "Give them time, the night is still young."

A girl in a white dress with a sheathed sword walked in and observed the room. "Is she here?" She asked. "I could've swore I saw her here... guess I- Oh!" She was surprised to her see her comrade amongst the sea of people cheering and celebrating. She walked up to Beatrix and stood there and put he hand on her heart and bowed. "General Beatrix, do you remember me? It is me, Saber." She said, seeming a bit uneasy. "I wonder if she is still mad about that day... it couldn't be helped. I tried but I chickened out, so it wouldn't surprise me if she hates me."

Roxanna came over to Saber. "Riesz- er I mean, Saber, when did you get here?" She asked, surprised to her sister here.

Saber hugged Roxanna. "I witnessed the battle, but I wanted to see your strength, but I saw Beatrix, and I had to see her again... remember I told you that we served in Maldaenna together?" She asked.

Roxanna nodded. "Of course, you told me many stories about how you two were inseparable. I wish I had a friend like you guys were."

Roxanna looked down but her sister put her hand on her shoulder and looked her in the eyes. "You'll find that friend, you have to find them though. Time will tell." She said, her sister just smiled back.



On the other continent a ways from Aisen was Valia, a large kingdom ruled by powerful, royal, and true kings and queens. It also was Reagan's hometown. A man in a white coat of armor and pants walked all over the castle. "Where is Reagan?" He frantically asked. "I can't find her at all, she was supposed to return four days ago, this is insanity."

A soldier in blue walked up to him. "Lord Klein, a word from the king. He wants you to make haste to his throne room now." He said, and quickly returned to his post.

The prince walked through the grand hall into the throne room where his mother and father sat atop their marvelous thrones. "Mother, Father, you requested me?"

The King nodded. "It is about Reagan... she seems to have stopped contact with us. We fear that she is... dead." He said, looking down, but a strange look on his face, hinting that he may have been lying.

The younger ruler was astonished. "What do you mean!?" He asked. "How could she be dead!? She was the general of the Dragon Wings, there is no way this can happen. You're lying I know it!" He barked at his parents.

The queen grimaced at this intolerable behavior. "How dare you accuse your father of lying to you!? You'd better be ashamed of yourself, go to your quarters, your father and I have to talk, we are done here." She said, disgusted at her son.

"But mother, father-"

The Queen interrupted, "No more Klein! To your room, now!"

Klein looked at his parents and turned, he couldn't believe the lies he was fed, he could never believe his sister had died, she had gone through far worse, there was something suspicious going on, and he was going to figure it out. He slammed the door to his room and looked outside, the moon glistened on the nearby ocean. "I am going to Aisen tonight, that is where she was at, she must still be there." He said and jumped out the window and onto the lower roof and continued to use his Dragoon skills to jump down the building, trying to avoid detection and make his way as a stow-a-way to a port in Aisen.

Freija held her rapier in her left hand and quickly held it up and closed her eyes. "Enthunder." She said, causing her blade to glow a yellow color and spark at times. "Let's see a little more about this thing." Freija threw the scan card, causing the rings to encircle Leviathan.

"Hm, so that's all, okay. Enthunder on everyone!" She called out, enchanting everybody's weapons with electricity. "Lightning is its weakness, hit him with everything you got!" She ran up, dodging the blasts of water, and finally stabbing Leviathan with her rapier, in a quick four-hit jab with a following slash and kick, but Leviathan had swiped her with his tail, knocking Freija into a tree. She got up and continued to rush in and attack.

Leviathan looked at everyone attacking him. "Damn persistent, you are a challenge, I will have to step it up!" He spun around and summoned a large wave to crash at everyone, dealing some hefty damage to the warriors.

"Everyone, regroup!" Roxanna called, summoning forth a Green Chocobo, she mounted it and held up her hand. "Replenishment!" The chocobo happily warked and created a field of green auras to heal the wounds of everyone, but not a lot, but it was helping. "Good boy." She said, she then threw her boomerang chakram, the enchanted weapon did some nice damage to the monster.

Apollo had sang his Mana Paean, boosting the power of magic, causing spells to damage more, and healing power to increase. Pulling an arrow from his quiver he carefully aimed, the electrified arrow at the torso of the serpent and fired the arrow, scoring a direct hit on Leviathan, the monster also scored a direct hit on Apollo with an Aqua Ball spell. "Damn it, that hurt, he said, getting up and firing another arrow.

Reagan jumped in the air and crashed down on Leviathan dealing heavy damage on it, pulling her spear out, she jumped off the creature, she saw the large amount of blood that gushed from its wound. "That seemed to work, time for another try." Leviathan tried to cut her jumping off by blasting another Geyser spell at her, but her incredible jumping skills were too fast for it to hit. Another successful jump had really hurt the monster, causing him to heal himself a bit.

It was time for Arekkusu to shine, after healing the wounds he conjured up a large sphere of electricity and flung it at Leviathan, the mass amount of lightning hitting him, caused him to stagger and fall over a bit, but he recovered very fast. A large Aqua Ball hit Arekkusu and sent him backwards really far, the poor little Moogle had never been hit by so much force, but surprisingly, his little heart wouldn't settle until he won and fired up another Spark to hit Leviathan.


While walking through the lake, Arianna heard the sound of battle, she looked up and saw a group of people fighting the large serpent. "My god, they are challenging that thing, are they crazy!? I should go help them, I can't watch this." She said and dashed towards the battle site.

Freija held her arm, the wound she took had caused her arm to bleed out a bit, but thanks to Arekkusu's magic, it was slightly better. "He is really a persistent bastard." She cursed and took her rapier and ran up to Leviathan, forgetting about the pain and just rushing in, stabbing it about six times, spinning to avoid an attack, slashing it and the signature sweeping kick. Freija's adrenaline rush was allowing her to keep avoiding the attack but Leviathan had smacked her with his tail, wounding her. "That's it!" She yelled, and held her blade to her face, "Riot Blade!" She said, swinging her rapier, blades of force and air slashed Leviathan with massive force. Leviathan was forced to heal itself, the sheer power of the attack was quite a lot for Leviathan to handle.

Arianna finally got to the battlefield and saw everyone valiantly fighting. "Wow, they are quite a strong bunch, I will help anyway, they all seem wounded." She said and ran over to Reagan was being treated by Arekkusu. "Need a hand?" Arianna asked.

Reagan looked up and Arekkusu followed. "Yes, who are you?" Reagan then held her leg, which was badly cut, Arekkusu trying his hardest to heal the wound. "Can you provide medic service?"

"Yes, let's try a little magic." Arianna smiled and cast Heal on Reagan, helping her cut recover faster. "I can try and use a Terrain skill, Sun Bath!" She said, raising her arm high. The sun shined brightly through the trees and cured Reagan's cut instantly. "How is that?"

"Thankupo." Arekkusu said and began to help Roxanna with her Green Chocobo, who was also healing Apollo.

Freija noticed that her electrifying rapier had worn out, as had everyone else's weapons. "Enthunder!" She called, re-enchanting everyone's weapons. "Alright you bastard, time to die!" Freija shouted as she did her signature combo, three stabs, slash and kick. "He just doesn't want to die, but I can tell he is nearly dead!" Rolling out of the way, Freija successfully dodged an Aqua Ball spell. "Fast bugger." Stabbing and slashing at the monster without missing a beat, until Leviathan spun around, knocking Freija down. "Dammit."

Reagan leaped high in the air and came crashing down on Leviathan with intense force, causing him to bleed more. "Lancet!" She said, punching the monster and draining some life and restoring hers. "Eyahh!" She screamed as she stabbed Leviathan with her spear. "Gahh, just go down already!"

Apollo stood back, singing his Mana Paean and Vitality Aria songs to boost magic power and restore health to everyone. "Let's finish this thing already!" He said, firing an electric arrow at his cheek. This made Leviathan shriek and summon another wave to crash on the group, knocking Apollo into the waterfall below.

"Apollo!" Reagan said and quickly jumped to the lower part of the waterfall and saw Apollo there, he was alive and breathing, but heavily injured. "Take this herb." Apollo took the herb from Reagan. "I am heading back now, want me to carry you back?"

"No, I am fine, I can make it back myself, thank you." Apollo smiled, relieved of some of his pain. "Alright, let's go kick some serpent ass!" He said and quickly jumped out of the water and ran back up to the battle site. Reagan jumped up and crashed down on Leviathan. "Ultima Arrow!" Apollo cried out, firing seven white arrows encircled in magical energy. The arrows rained down on the monster, inflicting massive damage on it, Leviathan roaring.

Roxanna rode around on her Green Chocobo, "Replenishment!" The aura had healed the group a lot thanks to Mana Paean's power. "Good boy, let's go take him down!" Roxanna launched her chakram at the serpent, slicing around his wings. "Score, take me over here." She said and scored another hit on his tail.

Arianna continued support by healing. "Wind Slash!" She said, channeling the breeze through the area to collect and attack Leviathan, a successful spell at that. "Sun Bath, time to heal."

Arekkusu kept on conjuring his Spark spell to hit Leviathan, dealing a majority of the damage. "Sparkupo!" He giggled as he made himself laugh while casting a spell. The yellow sphere of lightning hit Leviathan with a mighty blow, damaging him. "Yay, Kupo!" He cheered and danced, his dancing actually dodging a blast of water aimed at him.

Leviathan was nearly defeated, he had lost a lot of life, but he kept going, he wasn't going to give up until he died or the group did.

Reagan leaped high into the air again and came crashing down and this was it... This blow had defeated Leviathan. He came crashing down and a light shockwave rippled the ground a bit. "We did it..." Reagan said, looking at Leviathan.

"Well done humans and moogle. You've bested me, so I have no choice but to give me my Dragon Shard." Leviathan said and focused all of his energy and transformed into a crystal shard.

Reagan had walked over and picked up the shard. "Water Shard, Leviathan." She then put the shard in his bag with the other shards. "We beat him, I can't believe it."

"You got that right, we should head onwards to Shear, it is closer then Bisga is, let's head there." Arianna said. "By the way, I am Arianna, a Geomancer from Shear." She smiled and greeted everyone. "Shall we be heading on?"

Freija nodded. "I suppose we should, we all deserve a rest." The group then started following Arianna on the path to Shear.

By night the group had reached the port city of Shear.
