Kasei Lestat

0 · 177 views · located in On Tour

a character in “Seize the Day”, originally authored by Armageddon, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Name: Kasei Lestat

Age: 24

ImageAppearance: Kasei used to be confined to wearing 'appropriate' and 'conservative' clothing, so when she decided she would no longer wear those clothes, she went all out wearing miniskirts and low cut tops that revealed a good portion of her flat stomach, however she's slowed it down a bit and likes to stick to band t-shirts, torn up jeans, and band tank tops now, however she'll wear just about anything, but she almost always wears studded and bullet belts, as she simply adores them. Her attire is usually rocker-esque, and no, not that crappy 'emo kid' look. She is approximately five foot seven and slender with a small amount of curve that gives her a bit of an hourglass shape, her skin is pale and she used to be a blond, but she dyed it black many years ago and kept doing so. Kasei has several tattoos, including a legendary 'tramp stamp' of a black butterfly on her lower back, before following up with just whatever else she thought up. Almost all of her tattoos hold some sort of meaning to her.

Personality: Kasei had always been a very well grounded child, she always did as she was told, even if she didn't want to until she finally got fed up being the perfect child. She took up a bad attitude, basically becoming a 'I please no one' woman, she has softened with time however and is quiet most of the time until you get a few drinks in her or she's with people she's comfortable with. Kasei is very quiet, often off in a corner somewhere smoking when not though. She's a bit mysterious, as she doesn't talk much, she rarely starts fights (Unless the person is well deserving of a fight) and often appears to be in her own world, she has small issues with authority though, almost never wanting to listen to what anyone tells her, though when she feels like it, she can often be very kind and sympathetic, it all depends on what kind of person you are to her and her friends.

Background:

Age Seven

"But I don't want to play piano anymore mom! It's no fun!" A seven year old Kasei told her mother, frowning and looking down at her shoes while sitting in front of the grand piano, wearing a ankle-length white skirt and a sweater.

"But Kasei, you play it so beautifully." Anna Lestat told her daughter, patting her blond head and watching as the girl sighed, clearly the child wasn't going to get much say in if she wanted to play the piano or not. Soon Kasei began playing, her mother smiling at the chiming notes, just thrilled she had such a sweet child that played the instrument she had always wanted to learn how to play so well. Kasei really was a talented pianist, though she tended to ignore how much the girl loathed the instrument, and how sometimes she's hit those keys just a little too hard. In her eyes the girl was perfect and always would be, they raised her as well as they thought they possibly could.

A few hours later Frank and Anna Lestat drove young Kasei to her concert at the church in Alaska, pretending not to note how the seven year old was making faces as she awaited her turn to go out and sing in the choir.

"You'll do great, Sweetie." Anna said to her daughter before scurrying off to go wait in the crowd, her father nodded to her and disappeared after her mother.

Kasei curled her hands into fists, nervous at the thought of performing in front of so many people, her large blue eyes tearing up slightly. She felt as if she might run at any moment but no...she wasn't one to run. She would go out there and do her best. It wouldn't matter if she messed up a little, would it? She felt a little better when her parents were gone.

After taking a deep breath Kasei stepped out and joined the others in the choir, singing well, but occasionally forgetting a few lines, as most children her age did.

Once the show was finished, she was scolded repeatedly for forgetting a few lines during her most important part of the song, but all she could think of was that she was ruining her parents bragging rights. Did she feel bad? Maybe a little...

Age Sixteen

Kasei had just been crowned the 'Prom Queen' dressed up in an elegant yet still conservative gold dress, people coming up to her and telling her she looked amazing, blah, blah, blah. She really didn't care, she was sick and tired of pretending to be the schools perfect girl, the prep. She hated faking things, faking it for her mother, her father, her friends - even her boyfriend, she knew he didn't really like her for how she was, she was even becoming anorexic because people at school started noting she wasn't a perfect size zero anymore.

Later that night Kasei chopped her perfect 'princess' hair that her mother made sure was styled often into a sort of bob that hung at her chin, frowning at it and digging through her closet for a pair of jeans that had seen better days and cutting them off into shorts along with a black t-shirt she cut the sleeves off before jogging off down the street to the local bar.

The first time she heard it she was absolutely captivated. Was it punk? Was it metal? Kasei couldn't tell, but she couldn't help but dance and sing along. She was no longer the preacher's daughter, she was her own person, and no one could change that. She wanted to know this music...to be a part of this group.

For the next couple of years Kasei traveled with her boyfriend whom was the drummer of the band that she had heard playing that night, Tyler McKinley, he eventually taught her how to play as well. She eventually left him and his group though, after she took up some of his bad habits he had on the road, including drug addiction. She couldn't stand to be around him anymore with the way he lived and treated her. Kasei was struggling between wanting to stay addicted and not. She couldn't go back home, not with the way she looked now, and what was going on. No one would even recognize her as Kasei Lestat.

Not long after that, she met a very special young man who turned her life around dramatically.

As they neared the restaurant he was already scanning the scene. He remembered the last time they went out and it had left him slightly more nervous and made him constantly aware. Silently, he wondered if the episode with Tyler had damaged him more than just physically. He thought it but didn't say it. Zack didn't want to worry Kasei more than he already had. "Hi." Zack said to one of the waiters. "Do you think we can order something and take it back to our room?" He asked, upon which the man behind the bar looked hesitant. After a few seconds of silence, he nodded and shrugged.

"We don't usually do that, but I don't see why not."

"Great, thank you." Zack replied and smiled briefly.
When they had placed their orders, he sat down on a nearby chair and waited, looking up at Kasei with a smile on his face. He hoped that this could just be a night of relaxation and the two of them being together. Zack needed that tonight. Just be with Kasei and take it easy. Partially because he didn't want to be around other people right now (and partially because of the thing with Tyler), but also because the tour had been long and tough on them. At least on him.

She listened as Jukka told her a little bit about their lead singer, smiling. She didn't have a hard time imagining that. Ville really seemed like a person who'd been like that when he was younger and grown up to be a quiet but very polite man. "I see." Sam nodded and then changed her attention to Tanner.

"He changed me!" She mocked. "Sure he did..." Maybe Tanner hadn't been the biggest troublemaker when he was younger, but she had a feeling that it didn't take much to awaken what slumbered within him.
She didn't get to say much more than that since the two of them started talking back and forth, arguing about who's fault certain things had been. Sam smirked and chuckled while they did, but in the end she couldn't help laughing. "Oh it doesn't damage anything, but it does answer my question!" She said and nodded. "You two..." Samantha pointed her finger at them both and shook her head.
"Some day... Some day someone will chronicle your lives and all you've done and all your shenanigans..." She added, looking pretty sure about that. "And people all over the world will read the shit out of that book."

Victor agreed with Kit. It was kind of obvious though, that they weren't very serious. They were when they needed to be, but not one second longer. Maybe that was why they got along with Ranger so well. They had a mutual understanding of when to take things seriously and when to be silly and have fun. "Well, yeah. It takes a lot to anger that big guy, but Greg managed to do it." Victor said, recalling the episode where Thomas grabbed Greg and lifted him up in the air and then flinging him onto a chair. The bassist had a smirk on his face at the memory. "I know it was bad and all that, but it looked epic." He said, chuckling.

Kit began to explain that she didn't get angry very much, but she also had things that bothered her. As did everyone. It was just terribly hard to imagine with this petite woman. "Actually, Kit. Promise me you'll never get angry around me." Victor said and took a sip of his beer. "I've seen everyone in my band angry. Thomas isn't the most frightening one when he is, but..." He paused and smirked. "Seeing you angry might be the most terrifying thing on earth..." Victor chuckled and drank more beer. Maybe it wouldn't be so scary, it would just be overwhelming because it was so hard to imagine.
