Asher Evans

"The people have the right to use Cyberspace, not just the government."

0 · 178 views · located in Earth, 300 years in the future

a character in “Sekai Konogona”, as played by Asher MstrImmortalis

Description

Asher Evans
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Height: 6"2'
Weight: 120. lbs.
Hair Color: See pictures.
Eye Color: See pictures.

Typical Outfit:

Image
(When out of "work")
Image

Distinguishing marks: The silver hair, carries a pocket watch, an insignia of a fire engulfed in Ice is on the part where the heart is.

General Personality: To say the least, Asher isn't one to have a long conversation. He is entirely interested in trying to make more efficient machinery or programs or the like. Asher fears he would be labeled as a nerd, so he rarely speaks to anyone. Of course, he is one to help others in need, and that would be just one way to get close to Asher. Once someone's in, Asher would never treat them like any other person.

Asher is decisive and cunning in battle. His arsenal of melee and ranged weapons makes him an adversary. Asher isn't one to kill, and would never do that. However, he would do his necessary tasks as quickly as possible. If there is a need to kill, Asher would try to get through the task ASAP.

Position being applied for: The Hackers' Weapon's Master

Weapon of Choice:
Infinitly-Duplicating Knives: Using a spam-bot to spam commands to generate knives, Asher carries an infinite amount of knives to use as melee or throw them. They are usually used for stealth.
Pocket Watch: The pocket watch has a hidden blade in it, so it could be used as a blade attached to a chain. The pocket watch has a virus that effects a nearby object's lag. If it hits something, then Asher can either speed the object's movement up or slow it down. The effect is temporary (about 5 seconds real time), but still effective. Asher can also use it on himself or on his knives before throwing them, because they usually are in contact with the watch at all times.
Uchigatana: A normal, ancient Japanese sword. It actually has some kind of program that enables the sword to go along with Asher's movements. (i.e. If Asher slashes, then throws the sword into the air and kicks, the sword would go right back to his hand without a room for error. If you're still confused, look up Yuri Lowell: Shining Dragon Swarm.).
Twin Pistols: Fast shooting twin pistols with armor-piercing rounds. They both have Trojan Horses that can make the bullets pass through objects and explode at the shooter's command. They cannot explode if they are shot at a person, but it would temporarily nullify one equipment. Usually it would be the armor (if they have any). These are used by Asher only when there is a need to take out heavily amoured enemies or disarm/weaken a person.

History

Ever since his birth, Asher had always been attracted to computers and such. Even as a toddler, you'd find him playing games on a desktop. As Asher had grown older, Asher had learned how to code and make/edit programs. At the age of 15, he had learned how to hack. Instead of using his computer skills to benefit him at the expense of others, Asher just tried making his own flash game.

The making of the Cyberspace had intrigued Asher to the extent of exploring it. When the virus broke out, it deleted his progress on the desktop. Asher had lost everything that wasn't on a disk or a thumb drive. The only things left were a few projects and coding a to hack into the Cyberspace. To waste away the time period in which Asher had no inspiration to code and make a new game, Asher explored Cyberspace.

Asher used those codes to get in, but found himself in the middle of a war. The government took away the rights of the citizens of Cyberspace. Asher tried to ignore the war, but too much was at stake. Because Asher chose freedom and access of use for Cyberspace, Asher sided with The Hackers. His flair for coding a and making different kinds of programs, Asher applied for the Weapons Master.

The two appearances are so that Asher can conceal his identity. If someone knows him well enough, then Asher would use a mix: the first picture's clothing with the second picture's features.

So begins...

Asher Evans had just finished the program that would allow him to. Change costumes. He smiled. "Nice... Now I don't have to be in fear of being found out...." He muttered. The cursor hovered over the program and the index finger of his right hand clicked the mouse twice. Almost immediately, Asher was engulfed in pixels that prevented anyone from seeing him.

After the event had finished and the pixels gone, Asher has now obtained and now wearing a costume. It was based off of an old character named Yuri Lowell, the title to equip this costume being Dark Enforcer. "Ironic, how I am a rebel to the government, and I'm part of a group fighting to enforce the rights of the people..." Asher mused.

Asher no longer had short, silver hair and icy blue eyes. Instead were long, purple hair and dark purple eyes. There was a scarf that covered the lower portion of his face, and a fedora to cover the top. The new Asher stepped out of his office for a bit. Normally, he would be working on a project. But he decided to take a visit to his boss, Caliamara. He heard that there was supposed to be a new recruit. I guess I could prank her... Just this once... Asher thought to himself as he walked to her office. It's not normal of him to socialize with others, nor was it normal to play jokes. But since Asher was in a happy mood, why bother?

Cali was completely absorbed in the program she was messing with, changing lines of code here and there, not paying a lick of attention to the world around her when the mysterious guy walked in. It took her a little while to realize he was even there, but when she noticed him in the reflection of a turned off monitor, she turned around quickly.
"OH hello there, you must be the new recruit! I was beginning to wonder if you were gonna show up." She grinned, leaning back in her chair.

Cali raised an eyebrow. Alittle ambition never hurt, but second in command right off the bat.... seemed a little odd. Acting as if she was studying his features, she ran a quick scan of his Code. NOthing seemed out of place or set off her suspicions.
"2nd in charge, huh?" She leaned forward in her chair, "and what makes you think you have the credentials for such a demanding and dangerous job?" Something was off about this guy.....

Asher smiled. "Damn... I let it go for a second." He laughed a bit when he was hit by a paper ball, answered Cali's question. "It's easy. I hacked into my model's program, and gave it a new model to use instead of the old one." Asher explained. "If you want, I can give you another skin." He looked around, then shifted back into his alternate form. "Besides, I like this costume."

Asher sighed. Honestly, he isn't one to resist a girl like Cali, so of course, he answered with "What do you want to edit? Hair? Eyes? Ears? Legs? Height?" Then he pondered a bit, then added "Breasts?" Asher laughed hard, and prepared himself for a slap to his face or a kick in the nuts. "I didn't mean it! But seriously, what do you want to edit?"

Cali watched as Asher as he swiftly worked his way through the coding. He had learned well how to mess with the little nuances that made up the base code of a human being. She was impressed.
She turned back to her him, continuing her work the little trojan horse she was preparing for Solomon. She forgot about Asher being there after a minute or two, muttering to herself as she ran test after test, so it surprised her when the Code popped up in front of what she was working on.
"Oh thanks!" she responded. She laughed a bit at his warning to not mess it up. She pointed to her glowing purple eyes. "Uhhhh, luv, remember who invented this type of work in the first place. I think I'm fine." She then began her work on installing the new code.

Cali had to admit, Asher was right. She had spent several weeks creating and installing her eyes, and had never attempted anything like it since. She started working more carefully through her code as she installed the Mod.
When Asher mentioned teh recruit her eyebrows flew together in a scowl and she turned away from her monitor.
"Yea I thought we were getting one today. Either I was wrong, or somethings happened...." She trailed off, looking angry. She was barley listening when Asher proposed his new game, but caught the last bit and perked up quite a bit.
"I'd love to!"

Asher smiled. "Thanks!" He responded, then went out of the room to work on other things. "I'll be back, Cali. Just tell me what you think when I come back." Asher said before shutting the door. A program was sent into Caliamara's computer, named "The Last One Standing." It was the game Asher had been talking about.

Meanwhile, Asher started to yawn. "Damn... Shouldn't have stayed up last night finishing the game..." He covered his mouth as he went inside his office, then slept as soon as he sat down.

Cali threw up a rough salute as Asher walked out of the room. She stood as the room around her dissolved into the playing field for the game. She smirked. Trust Asher to make it completely immersive.
She worked her way through the first levels with ease. Fighting games like this usually served as just a nice warm up for her, but this one was different. Cali was actually having some serious difficulty getting through the later levels. At one point, she slipped up and took a small stab to the arm, instead of passing through harmlessly and taking down her life points, the dagger bit into her flesh and left a jagged cut. Cali looked down at it, slightly shocked.
"Well....Shit," Was all she had time to mutter before the next level started, even harder than the last. At this point, Cali new the game was glitched and abandoned the in-game broad sword she had selected and drew VIRUS.
"Asher! Get your ass in here!" She yelled, fighting with all seriousness now. There was no response. She muttered a curse and started coding in her head as she fought. If these levels got harder and harder, things could get really bad really fast. She had no choice.
"Execute. Parameters: Game full stop. Shut down when parameter is complete." She spoke calmly, executing the freezing virus she just wrote. Once the game stoped, she harmlessly shut it down. She stalked out of the room to see Asher sleeping in his chair. She promptly knocked him upside the head.

"Yes. There is a secret ally you can make that is invincible, and can take care of a lot of enemies in the later levels." Asher responded as he changed the coding to prevent any real injuries from occurring. "His name is Lucian, and he is able to manipulate shadows. But he wasted away mana do you have to constantly give him mana potions, and he also doesn't protect you at times. So, you'd still have to defend yourself from the hordes of enemies.

"I can show it to you now. I already made my character data and my equipment." Asher added after a minute of typing. "Ready?" He is now standing up, and his finger is on the left-mouse button. "Oh yeah, there are also references to old video game characters. My model is one of the optional costumes for one of the secret characters."

Asher pressed the button, and their surroundings changed into a jungle. A timer appeared above the entrance of where the enemies would come from. "Wait until wave five, then follow me." Asher commanded. The timer said 0' and enemies flooded. Immediately, Asher stabbed a bandit in the chest, then slit the throat of an incoming knight. Then he kicked another person behind him, and sliced in into two. The first four waves were easy, but here's the hard part. "Cali! Head for the entrance before the timer hits zero!" Asher yelled before finishing off his enemy and running through the path.
(Sorry for interrupting your post, Verum. I needed to get this in. Maybe you two can run it while the present-day era runs?)

Cali was actuallly enjoying the game now that the weapons left no physical marks on her body. She laughed inwardly in surprise at just how good of a team her and Asher made. It was her firm belief that fighting and training together made friends closer, even if it was just a game.
When she heard Asher call out to head for the gate, she sliced the knight in front of her in half and flipped over him before his corpse even had time to despawn. She was going to just make it if she ran at her top speed.

Alice watched Solomon leave, giving him one last salute as the elevator doors closed. The minute they did, the hologram vanished and the AI behind it set to work, though for some reason, she still found herself watching the leader of the Programers through various security cameras, and later the public ones, once he made it to his appearance. Thankfully, one of the advantages of being an autonomous Artificial Intelligence was having a lot of attention to split. Indeed, far too much to ever have it all focused on one thing.

First was Solomon's computer; Alice didn't want to break into it, not yet at least, as that would be an enormous violation of the trust he had placed in her. Instead, she merely poked around its security systems, testing their strength. She found them to be surprisingly resilient, and they almost detected her investigations. Any true attempt to break in without being noticed would take a level of skill that the AI wasn't sure even she possessed.

After a short while of waiting, Alice grew unbearably bored. There didn't seem to be any Hacker activity at all, either that or it was so low-key that even she couldn't pick it up. Rather than wait and be bored until Solomon returned, and from what she could tell, he was only just now beginning to speak, the AI decided to take a more proactive approach toward this Hacker business. First, she began scanning and hacking into the highest traffic areas of the network, most of which rolled over fairly easily. However, there seemed to be one part that put up a massive amount of resistance. Logically this was probably a section of the network that had been reinforced by the Hackers, to prevent whatever it was from being accessed by any outsiders. With a little work, the AI managed to virtually get her foot in the door, so to speak, and slip in a message.

"A message to Hackers:
I hold sensitive information about the Programers, information that could turn the public against them in a heartbeat if proven correct. If this interests you please come to Club 21 as soon as possible; I will not be able to wait there for very long, as the Programers are aware that I possess this information, and will do all they can to silence me.
Alice."

Hopefully they would show up, otherwise this little undercover operation was going to be very short-lived. Alice projected her chosen avatar, a four-and-a-half foot tall version of the hologram she'd used to speak with Solomon, garbed in a lab coat, into the club, and waited for the message's recipients to arrive. This form was a bit more solid, giving off the impression of an actual person to anyone who happened to brush into it. Unfortunately, the illusion wouldn't hold up against any heavier contact than that, so she had to be particularly careful if things went badly, lest she give away her true identity. She also made sure to build up a massive amount of coding in her appearance, so to discourage anyone from digging through it too thoroughly.
