Description

Name: Caine and Lilliannia Densin
Age: (5-2000): Caine- 1103 Lilliannia- 1094
Gender: Caine- Male Lilliannia- Female
Light or dark: Caine- Light Lilliannia- ?

Description: Caine-

Caine is tall, lean, handsome and he knows it. With raven hair hanging in gentle waves to his jaw line that shines like silk the light, and crystal blue eyes that make it hard to remember what a cloudy day looks like, Caine can easily use his appearance to get what he wants, especially with humans, that is, he would be able to if he weren't so noble. He lips are full and pink, his skin looks like its been dusted with bronze; his tan giving the impression of spending day after day in the Sun.

Description Lilliannia-

Lilliannia is tiny and looks as fragile as a porcelein doll, even though she is anything but. Her thick, white hair is always in the same style. She has two thin plaits that go from just above either of her ears round the back of her head to tie together in the centre. She has three thin plaits that fall to the left of the tied bit of her hair, and two to the right. The rest of her thick, straight hair falls freely down to her waist, kept out of her fac by the two plaits. Her eyes are a cloudy grey, reflecting her grey mood. She has pale skin, parlty because she hates the heat and partly because, well she's just pale. Lilliannia also has an angry scar slicing across her face, from her right temple, travelling down across her nose, just missing her eye, and ending on her jaw, just below her left ear. Her too small, thin lips, and heavy eyes deem her undesirable, unlike her older brother.

Personality

Caine-

Caine, like his appearance implies, is golden boy. He's loyal, noble, dignified, dutiful, respectful, righetous, moral, obedient... to the point where he doubts nothing god or a superior orders him to do. And thats fine on heaven, where there is structure and conduct, someone to follow blindly. He has done many jobs in his time... welcoming new angels, protecting certain people, running errands for god and the leaders. He personally likes the protecting, it makes up for him feeling like he's not protecting his sister, how can he when she's so stuborn, awkward and uncontrollable? But, as he's about to discover, disposing yourself so willingly to someone has it catches. Like being used as a mere pawn, despite his position in the heavenly realm. Caine gets the job done, efficiently, productively, perfectly. And he's alyways willing to do more than his share. Its like he's trying to prove how good he is, or making up for someone who isn't. His unquestionable, undoubting loyalty and duty will cause others to find him annoying, stuck up even, but he sees it as loyalty, which all angels are obliged to give. He has given his soul to god wholly, not keeping even a little bit for himself. God, after all, allow him to keep close the most precious thing in the entire existence of the universe.

Lilliannia-

Unlike her duty, sucessfull, praising- obssessed big brother, Lillinnia will doubt everything and everyone around her. Almost, her brother is excluded from this, but his blind following has caused friction between them- especially recently. Lilliannia will be wary, if not suspicious, of anyone who attempts to become close to her. If she does let anyone in, she sees it as unbreakable, inbetrayable bond between them. Her mind constantly questions things, and the need to have the answer has caused for her to stumble across more than unpleasent findings. Some of which, she was not meant to find.. not allowed to find. Her temper is quick, but rather than stomping her feet and raising her voice, she will completely shut down, she'll refuse to speak to or acknowledge the person who has angered her, and most probably, anyone around her. She's mot merciful, unless its something everyone expects to be horrid and evil. She'll jump to its defense. Which again, lands her in trouble with big boss man. Deep down, she knows her rebellious streak, her defending sworn enemies, things to be percieved as evil or wrong for hundreds of thousands of years, is because she feels like she's one of them, so much more than the angels heaven is home to. It doesn't feel like her home, and the whole place makes her feel... on edge. Of course, she can't tell anyone this, in case of being accused of treason, trechary, betrayal... or whatever else. Her feeling like an outsider has made her become even more isolated and alone. Caine isn't much help there, as she's beginning to do the one thing she'd sworn to her self she'd never do. She's beginning to question her brother, doubt him. She doesn't know if she can trust him, and that thought is more terrifying than anything else. She feels like she's fighting for her brother, like its a war, but he doesn't even know, he can't see. And the worst part? She isn't winning...

History

Caine and Lilliannia are brother and sister. On earth, they were inseprable, Caine the protective, admirable hero for Lilliannia to look up to. Lilliannia, the devoted, adoring little sister who is her brother's world, she has his attention and his heart. Entirely. In heaven? Not so much...

Caine-

Caine was 12 when he's beloved baby sister came into his life. The instant he saw her, he knew he'd do anything for her... no matter what it was. As the years passed, Lilliannia became Caine's shadow. They grew closer and closer... until it was more strange for people to see them apart rather than together. Caine, following their parents' large sense of right and wrong, of justice and honour, taught Lilliannia that certain traits were more valuable than any material object. Trust, when deserved should be undestroyable. Caine was a good, sweet boy, helping everyone and everything... to nursing a pigeon with a broken wing to cooking for an old blind lady. He turned into a remarkable young man. He was studying to be a doctor; top of his class, dedicated and passionate with his work. It seemed so unfair, that his life should end so soon while lesser men got to live their lives, not fullfilling their potential, not caring. Caine was only 25 when he was shot down dead, caught in between a feud between two land owners. He was only going to pick up Lilliannia from the stables. That was what she did while he had his classes, she looked after the horses. It was the one thing they disagreed on, he thought they were jittery, nervous creatures. She admired them for having the body of prey but the soul of a warrior. He was just going to pick her up, but he never made it.
The gunshot not meant for him was fatal. He didn't grudge the man who had killed him, he pitied him. And then he realised, he was in a new world, beautiful with gardens. Heaven was built for Caine, and Caine was built for heaven. He fit in perfectly, loving the duty, honour bound bonds he felt to god, relishing in the endless tasks to be done, the familarity he had with it all. It became home instantly.
Lilliannia was 13, stranded on earth. It didn't take long for her to join him. Four years. He felt sad when his sister vanished from the world, never turning eighteen, never knowing love. When Lilliannia passed through the gates, just as he had done, god decided, it would be best not to put them together. He thought it would distract one of his most promising and talanted angels, and Lilliannia always thought god could sense some disturb she had felt ever sicne she had been delivered to heaven. The years passed and Caine slaved away, performing tasks, completing missions, the reunion with his sister his promised reward. Not that he was bribed into doing his work, because he wasn't, but he still longed for the day where he could once more hold his baby sister in his arms, once more plait her hair. Finally, when he turned 1100, he and his sister could be together again. That was three years ago. And it hadn't been how he thought it would be. She had changed. She no longer looked into his eyes and took everything on his word, she no longer needed him. And that hurt him more than how much pain he thought he could feel.

Lilliannia-
Lilliannia grew up listenting to Caine's trusting, peaceful, soft, strong voice. He taught her right and wrong, the significance of trust. When he began to study to become a doctor, she was prouder than their parents, prouder than any teachers from his school. She'd used to sit by the gate of their cottege, from the moment he left to the moment she could see him walking down the lane, at which point she'd run and fling herself into his open arms. And he'd catch her, and hug her, every time. She never felt at ease with him gone. Everyone thought that she needed him; to protect her, and they were right. But in a lot of ways, Caine needed her more than she needed him. He needed Lilliannia to protect her, that was just who he was. He needed someone to guide and teach. He'd be lost without her, just as much as she'd be lost without him. One day, a man with a horse and carraige was passing through, Lilliannia sat, waiting for her brother as always. Something had spooked the horse and before the driver knew what was happening, Lilliannia was there, stroking the horse's neck, soothing him with hushed words. Then, Lilliannia had something to do when Caine was studying, she was learning how to look after horses, working at the stables the man owned just at the bottom of the hill that the Densin's cottage was built on top of. Caine hated it though, and for the first time, Lilliannia couldn't understand him. Why? She thought he was so clever studying his medicine, why couldn't he proud of her work with the magnficient horses? He didn't like it, but he still turned up, to collect her, every day. On the way home he'd talk about medicine, but she'd never mention her work, because she didn't want him to have that disaproval look in his eye. Besides, she was content listening to Caine's accomplishments. But, the first time her world changed was the day Caine didn't come to pick her up. She waited, minutes grew into hours, silly excuses twisted into unthinkable possibilities. And, finally, someone from the village near the farm the stables were at, arrived. Caine wouldn't be coming to pick her up, ever again. She was thirteen when he died.
After her brother's passing, all Lilliannia had were the memories she had of him, and the lessons he'd taught her. Her parents, striken in grief at loosing their sucessful child, their loved, adored admired son, died soon after. Her father, realising that their daughter, so quiet, so odd, would never amount to anything, his wife unable to bear any more children, came to the conclusion that their time, the family's time, was spent on earth, and now over. He started a fire. It killed him and Lilliannia's mother. It would have killed her too, if a horse hadn't woken her in panic and alarm. That was the first thing she heard, the neighing. When she tried breathing, she could only cough. Only the terror the horse felt, through his neighing and stomping of hooves saved Lilliannia. Her need to calm the horse. It was the same one she had first calmed, right outside her cottege when she had been waiting for Caine to come home. Lilliannia was saddened by her parents' death, but not lost or broken. It wasn't because she was alone without Caine already, but her parents had never been her world, they'd been in it, but they weren't it. Caine was. Had been. From there, she lived with the horseman, but she never worked with horses again. Because she knew it would bring her comfort, and if she felt comfort, she felt happy. She shouldn't be happy, it wasn't right for her to be happy, not when Caine couldn't be. If she felt happy or even ok, then the pain would be less. But it was the pain that kept the memories alive, so vibrant and real. Her tears kept his spirit with her, her lonliness his heart. She began to study medicine, and while she didn't have the natural talants Caine had had, her determination made her thrive all the more. She could be close to him this way, doing what he loved. When she had just turned seventeen, she recognised a man as she was walking home. It looked like the man who had stood in chains at her brother's funeral four years ago. But younger. He had wrinkles set around his eyes, but they weren't from age, they were from hardship. His beard was long and rough, untidy. His clothes were muddy and too big for him. Despite his huge frame, he didn't look as big as he should be, the skin around his cheeckbones sagged slightly, his eyes were sunk into his head. He yelled at her.
"It was an accident! He didn't mean to... the boy was in the way... It wasn't his fault! We lost everything... he's rotting in prison... It wasn't his fault! IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!" Unlike his father's steady hand and piercing glare, his hand was shaky, his eyes watery as he shot the bullet that plunged into Lilliannia's chest. Lilliannia wasn't angry at him though, nor did she pity him, looking down from some righteous platform. She understood. And then, her world changed for a second time.
Heaven was perfect. It was the only possible way to describe it. Which is perhaps why Lilliannia felt so unease, she didn't trust perfect, it was a temporary situation, scrap that, it was a temporary moment of time in which a temporary lapse of judgement deemed that time perfect. Nothing was perfect, not in truth. So, with this paradise, all Lilliannia felt was suspicion. She thought it had been perfect on earth with her brother, she had thought it was perfect when that first night in heaven she saw her brother standing there. She knew it wasn't though. Because his arms weren't open, she didn't know if he would catch her. But it was his blue eyes, so bright and full of life, his raven hair, so warm in sunlight. It was his voice. So, how could she not feel his trust? They were seperated after seconds of seeing one another. They weren't even seperated, a man standing beside Caine told him to 'go' and he went. He turned his back to her and just walked away. Just like that. He didn't even look back and smile, didn't look back to reassure her. The next thousand years were awful. She became more aware, more alert. Only, she couldn't see anything wrong, she just felt it. She knew it was real though, she had to believe it. She was given the task of watching over people, so she spent a lot of time on earth, even though she wasn't a part of that world anymore. Angels tended to feel uncomfortable on earth, but they didn't mind, because it was a part of their cause. But Lilliannia felt just as uncomfortable in heaven. So, when she wasn't on earth, spending her time guiding people through their lives, she was in heaven, questioning what ought not be questioned, seeking answers that were hidden, locked away and protected. She didn't even know angels could scar until the ugly wound across her face healed and faded slightly, leaving a red, angry mark on her for eternity. She wasn't stupid, she knew that she had to stay on earth and watch lifetime after lifetime after lifetime because they knew she wasn't just accepting heaven for what it appeared to be. After 1000 years, she finally got to be with her brother, when he turned 1100. He assumed his old role straight away, that of teaching her. Only, she didn't like what was being taught. What happend to his lessons of trust? Of respect? Of earning it? Those were the things she knew to be right, and she wouldn't change them, not even if the person who did teach her was now teaching her something else, something different.

1000 years of waiting, and the reunion with Caine had turned out to be nothing more than another angel, trying to impose the ways and beliefs of heaven on her. He was just another tool to try and train her, tame her. For the sake of those eyes and that voice, she stayed with him, trying to find some of the Caine Lilliannia knew. Three years was nothing to watching countless lifetimes, but Lilliannia has a sinking feeling, if she did not find something familiar in her beloved brother, then she never would, it wasn't there anymore. There was one area in heaven that made her particularly nervous. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up, a shiver would run down her spine while her breath would catch in her lungs. But Caine had not listened. He had said he heard strange voices. Lilliannia had begged him not to go near it, even report it, but he hadn't. And now he was missing. Already fingers were pointing to her, and she knew they'd never believe anything she told them. So, Lilliannia ignored her instincts, and faced the weird looking thing that terrified her. She could hear the menace in them, but the strange appeal they carried with them. She was strong enough to resist the voice, but not strong enough to resist the urge to find her brother, locked away in the perfect angel he had become. So, she stepped into the strange portal, only knowing one thing about it, Her brother had gone through it the day before. And he was in trouble.

So begins...
