Alto Skyefield

"To tell them that I have this disease.....It's not something I can say so casually now, can I..?"

0 · 473 views · located in Evening Star Academy

a character in “Setting Sun”, as played by DeathScythe386

Description

Alto Skyefield

Image

Age: 19

Gender: Male "Eh? Didn't you notice?"

Class: Special "Maybe it's because I missed a lot of lessons before... *sigh*"

Role: The Sickly "I've been with this disease for a while now..."

Theme Song: Vocaloid 3 IA- Yuukei Yesterday "Tatatarata! It sounds so upbeat and catchy!"

Personality: Alto has a very dense personality, and he is shown to be smiling and laughing a lot with the others. He is also shown to be interested in different forms of arts- singing, drawing, painting, you name it. However, he has a disease that causes him to pass out randomly, so there is a great risk on him. Even so, he continues to get along well with the people in the school. PS. He gets hungry easily.

Appearance: Image

Background: Alto had a strange condition that made him faint at random times so he was cut off from school for a while since it might be bad for his health, what with all the stress and work and stuff. Then they found that the Evening Star Academy had a special class for those who had conditions like him, so they let him enroll and there he got along easily with everyone.

Crush: None for now "Hm? Crush? Is that something I can eat?"

Hobbies:

  • Drawing- Alto is a natural artist. He does it to pass the time. "Like I said, I'm interested in a lot of arts."
  • Writing (Secretly)- "E-Eh!? Don't touch that notebook! I keep all my stories there-- ACK! I JUST REVEALED MY SECRET--" He likes writing stories. He just doesn't like people finding out.
  • Eating- "I just get hungry a lot, I guess." His condition makes his body weak so he has to eat a lot.
  • Hanging with his friends- Alto just likes talking with a lot of people because "I feel better when others are all happy around me."

--Other Information--
"I guess I'll tell you. After all, you need to get to know others better right?"

Likes:
"Ah, not what I hate, but what I like?"

  • Dogs- He's a dog person, his reason being: "They're so loyal and will stay by your side even if you're really sick. Kind of reminds me of someone--"
  • Arts- He's in love with arts. He sees it as not only something to pass the time creating, but something you should be really proud of because you are its creator.
  • Food- Because he eats a lot he is usually called a glutton. Some people say that it's because of his condition, but he just REALLY likes food.
  • Music- Simple. "Music is a stress reliever for me."
Dislikes:
"Um, it's probably best not to show these to anyone..."

  • Lying- He believes it is a sign of cowardice, and thus he hates lying and liars.
  • Insects- Especially cockroaches. When he sees one he literally gets an adrenaline rush and still does not faint soon after. That's how scared he is, he can cancel out his own disease if he sees one.
  • Others worrying about him- He feels that he's a burden.

Fears:
"Don't tell anyone okay?"
  • Being laughed at- He doesn't want others laughing at him. "I want others to laugh WITH me, not ATme...."
  • Losing someone important- His mind gets greatly affected when he loses someone. "No.....how could you leave me..?"

Trivia and other stuff like that:
-He has a pet Labrador named Enkidu. "Why Enkidu? It was a really cool name, so..."
-He actually likes video games. Especially shooting games, but it's rare to find him playing. He only plays when no one's around.
-He has a closet filled with notebooks and sketchpads.

Alto Skyefield

Alto yawned as he made his way to the Academy, laughing and greeting people he was acquainted with along the way. Humming a tune to himself in between bites of a rice cake- his breakfast- he walked through the hallways, heading into a classroom. He stepped in, looking around and yawned again.

"Good morning everyone~!" He greeted cheerfully, flashing his usual grin.

{OOC: Forgot to say in my Character Sheet that I was in the special class :P}
The lights from the sun shone dimly through the blinds of the windows. Haruki slowly began to stir from his sleep, but not in a good mood at all. Staying up late at night preparing for the first day of school took a toll on his energy and, now he was feeling tired and restless just lying here in bed. Having trouble trying to adjust again, he slowly rose from his bed and walked to the bathroom, taking a firm hold the wall to keep his from falling on the way to there. When he finally got there after the unnecessary long walk, he took a look in the mirror.

His hair looked, well putting lightly, hideous. It was knotted up together and looked like a cat had clawed through it. He really isn't in the mood of combing, brushing through it, and cutting it so it fitted exactly what he wanted. All he did was a half-assed job of brushing through it to make it look the least bit appealing. After fixing his hair some what, he walked down the stairs to his house.

Haruki's Stepmother had already made him breakfast and left for work like always. He quickly finished his breakfast and started to head out of the door, but before that he took a glance at the clock sitting on the table right next to the door. Six O'nine the clock read.

Haruki frowned, he had gotten up much sooner than he wanted to and it was probably why he was feeling so tired. Since he's the type of person to sleep in and don't care if he was late to school or not, he usually didn't get up until Eight O'clock sharp. Silently cursing himself he opened his door and began to walk down the street towards the High-school. All he really wanted to do was go back inside the house, go up the stairs and jump on his bed and go back to sleep. But, he would dare miss the first day of school, there was always another day to miss school. Like missing a Friday of school, yeah, that would work, he would get to have a three day week-end.

Lost in his thought, he was suddenly interrupted by the sound of a cat meowing. It appeared right in front of him and he bent down to get a better look of it, with him being as tall as he is. It was scrawny and thin, but hell was it cute. Haruki always had a soft spot for cute things, and since it didn't have a collar on it he decided that he would take it home. So that's what he did obviously, and he left out food for him as well and then started back to school again. It was only a minor set back so it didn't matter much to him.

He was the first one into class like usual, even with his set back this morning. He merely just sat there and waited for class to start. Haruki waved to Alto as he walked into the class.

Akemi Fujioka walked into a classroom with her nose stuffed in a manga. She knew it was way too early to be at school, but the truth was she didn't really want to be at home. This was a normal thing for her especially when her mother would bring home a man for the night. She always knew it would end badly and so she didn't like to be around when it did. As a result, Akemi would be to school before anyone else a lot of the time and on occasions before any of the teachers even. The nice thing was she was on good terms with most of them so they'd let her sit in a classroom in peace to read, knowing she wouldn't cause trouble if she was alone. That wasn't quite the case today though. As she walked in and sat down she realized there was someone else in the classroom, though she didn't quite acknowledge them since she was so involved in what she read. Plus she already knew who it was, Haiku Shinobu. They didn't quite get along so it was better for her not to say anything to him. So there she sat, manga in hand and one ear bus in her ear playing music

After awhile people began to show up and come into the class, talking and slightly irritating her. She did her best to ignore all of them though and they generally stayed away from her, most being scared of her fearing to get punched for pudding her off. She wasn't a complete liner though, she did have a few "friends". Speak of the devil, the one person she was probably the closest to out of her friends came in. Alto Skyefield. He was as cheery as ever as he greeted everyone. "Good Lord, Alto how can one be so cheery so early in the morning?" She asked him while glancing up from her manga a little to look at him, a blank expression on her face. She didn't mean to sound so cold, but that was just how she operated. Thankfully Alto usually recognized that and never took it personally most of the time.

Setsuna woke up early. It was not because she was enthusiastic about going early at the first day of school but rather the occasional pain that strikes her legs had chosen to emerge at this specific hour. She took the pills at her bedside and drank one without much thought. Checking her clock, she saw that it was three more hours before class starts. Rather than going back to sleep, she figured she might as well head out early.

She had taken her bath and got dressed in her uniform with the assistance of her mother and sister. After breakfast, she boarded her car, her sister taking the wheel and driving her to the Academy.

Upon reaching the academy grounds, she read the handbook that was given to her on enrollment day, her mechanical fingers, scanning the pages. She searched for her classroom and saw that it was on the third floor; it was now 6:05 in the morning.

Now she was on the first floor, with no elevators in sight and one question boggling her mind:

"Now how am I going to get up there?"

Alto rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Ehehe... Well I guess I was excited to go, so..." He laughed, walking to his seat and setting down his things. He definitely wasn't lying when he said he was excited- His alarm was set at 5:00 in the morning, he just had a "little" attack so he passed out and woke up one hour later. Luckily, he made it before class started, even catching two of his friends in the classroom already.

He gave his things a quick review to see if he had missed anything. Of course, the things needed for his classes were there, notebook, ballpen, and other stuff. But in a compartment lay his sketchpad and trusty art set. It was a habit of his not to bring too many things, he knew that stressing his body out too much will cause him to pass out, but he would NEVER leave his sketchpad at home. That and his pet dog might find it and rip it up. His life would be over if that happened.

He relaxed when he found that nothing was missing. A few people came over to greet him, ask him some things, and other things, but they didn't last long since of course, people have their own groups.

"Haaa~ Oh hey, Akemi, what are you reading?"

The alarm of Azalea's phone rang her to the point of slipping out of her dreams, and promptly falling out of her bed, landing on a floor in the cocoon of her baby blue comforter. "Oww..." She mumbled a bit, wriggling herself out of the tightly enclose blanket around herself. Practically crawling over to her dresser, she reached up to grab her tiny cell phone, and shut off her alarm that went off every morning at 7:30. Standing up, she stretched her arms out, and squeaked a small "Oww!" once more, looking at the small bruised that had formed on her elbow. She had barley any more reaction time to it, as she heard her mother call to her "Hun? You okay? Did you fall out of bed again?" Aza blushed to herself, and called back in her regular sheepish tone, "Yeah, But I'm fine, please don't worry!"

Opening up her drawers, she took out her regular school clothes, and changed her pyjamas out for them. Racing into the bathroom, just avoiding hitting her shoulder in the door frame, she quickly brushed through her knotted vibrantly red hair. When she felt satisfied with its smoothness, she slipped into the kitchen area, grabbing an apple, and biting into it smalley. She continued to much on it for awhile, her odd amber eyes scanning around the familiar kitchen. When she finished her small morning breakfast down to its core, she through it out, and grabbed her black school messenger bag, ready to leave for the high school that she still felt rather unfamiliar with.

"Bye!" She called back to her mom, her dad already having left for work. As she closed her door behind her, and stepped onto the side walk, she could't help but smile being outdoors in the morning. It wasn't the same nature feel as when she lived in the country with grandma, but it was still trees, and fresh air in hich she often found herself craving when stuffed in doors.

Continuing down the cracked cement side walk, she felt calm for once, happy that she had only had one unfortunate clumsy act this morning. That really was, until she heard a loud bark and grumble from behind her. Glancing over with a surprised look in her wide eyes, she came face to face, well, face to face with a chain link fence between them, a snarly, drooling big ol' dog. Aza covered her mouth to keep a small squeak of fear escape her light pink lips, but as the dog barked and snarled again, she continued on running now to school. She ran and ran, being that big dogs was one of the two things she feared most, but her trip came to an abrupt stop as her shoe got caught on one of the cracks in the stone, and she stumbled down, falling on her knees. Looking down, it scrapped through her tights, and she noticed small blood welling up where she scrapped it. Huffing, she mumbled to herself. "And I was doing so well.." Before getting up, and partly limping the rest of the five minutes to the school.

Walking into the doors, she quickly made her way to her class room, and sat down, partly awkwardly avoiding ye contact with her classmates as she limped on through. Smoothing her pleated skirt down as she sat, she opened her bag and pulled out a band aid, placing it over the small cut that showed through her now ripped tights.

Akemi couldn't help but snicker a little at Alto's reply. She had to admit that it was nice to have someone so cheery around sometimes. It helped keep her from being so grumpy all the time. As Alto sat down and greeted some others, Akemi went back to her reading only to be interrupted a few moments later. She decided to finish the page she was on before answering. "It's called The World God Only Knows." She said as she marked her page and closed the book. She figured it would be good to be social for a bit so she turned to look at Alto. "So how was your morning? Mine consisted of avoiding my mother and her new pet. I swear to God she's a friggin idiot that never learns. He's just gonna leave her like all the rest do. It's just how all men are." She went off on a rant, not realizing that what she said could be hurtful to others.

Alto's eyes seemed to soften a bit. "Oh, another one today..?" He looked down. "Well.....I had an attack earlier this morning. I think I was out for.... um, 1 hour or so..?" He looked at the clock in the classroom. "Yeah, 1 hour...." He winced when he felt a twitch deep down, somewhere in his heart. It always acted like that when he was near to getting an attack. Luckily, it didn't happen often and the pain went away a few seconds later. He found that he was gripping at his green vest tightly without realizing it and he quickly let go, hoping that Akemi didn't see his sudden movement. He didn't like making others worry about him- He felt that he was a burden if he did.

Akemi's facial expression turned to concern as her told her of the attack he had that morning. She may be harsh and mean most of the time, but she still had a heart and she found she worried about Alto. Most of the time she tried not to show this emotion very much, but today it slipped out a little more then usual. This especially happened when she noticed Alto grip at his vest. Her hand unknowingly flew to his shoulder in concern. "Are you alright? If you want to go to the nurses office I'll go with you just to make sure you make it there okay." She asked as she still touched his shoulder and know buying her bottom lip in concern for her friend.

"N-No, I'm fine. That was just an aftershock or something." Alto said. He grinned but it was evident that he was still in a little pain because his eyes were half-lidded and he clutched at his vest again. He let go after a few moments, and grinned again. "See? No need to worry or take me to the nurse's office, Akemi." He was glad it stopped- Besides, he might miss important lessons and as much as he liked the school, he had no intention of going back for remedial classes if he went to the infirmary.

Akemi gave Alto a look that said 'I can tell that you're lying'. It upset her a little that he would lie to her, but she didn't say anything about that. She had only been around him once when he fainted and it really scared her so now if she sees any signs that it might happen then she tries to help in any way possible. That's exactly what she wanted to do now, but what he said made her feel like he didn't want her to try and help and that upset her a little. So she did the only thing she could think to do. "Idiot." She said as she punched his arm, but not hard enough that she would hurt him in any way. Her voice still expressed her concern, but she couldn't get herself to say any more. So she turned to face forward and dropped her arms to her lap as she stared at her desk. "I just wish I was able to help you." She mumbled mostly to herself and not really meaning for anyone else to hear.

Alto's grin dropped when he saw that she kmew he was lying. "Okay, I know, I lied to you." He managed a little laugh when her fist came into contact with his arm but when she turned away, he turned solemn. He reached over to place a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, look, I'm really sorry for lying to you, Akemi. Please forgive me?" He apologized quietly. He hated lying to Akemi. He knew she would worry if he said he really suffered agonizing pain whenever he had an attack, so he always tried to conceal his reactions to the pain. As much as he despised lying, he despised being a burden. He hung his head, black hair covering his eyes.

When Alto touched Akemi's shoulder her heart seemed to flutter and this confused her. What the hell body? He just touched our shoulder. He's touched us before so why do you act so weird now? She thought to herself, but in the back of her mind she knew what it was. She wasn't about to admit to herself that that's what it was so she just ignored her body and feelings. She then looked back over at Alto and sighed a little, she knew she had to try and brighten the mood a little. "Alright I shall forgive you under one condition, you let me know if I can ever help you. Oh and you eat lunch with me today." As she spoke she felt her phone go off in her pocket. So she glanced down at the phone and quickly read the message. It was her mom telling her that the guy she had over last night was coming over tonight for dinner and so she needed Akemi to pick up some groceries after school. "Also let me come over after school so I have an excuse to avoid my mom and that guy." She added quickly, knowing that her one condition had now turned into three which she hoped would be somewhat humorous. She then gave him a smile just to show that she really would forgive him no matter what.

"As you wish." Andrew said, crossing his arms behind his back and following the girl out of the garden. After they went their separate ways Andrew began to climb the spiral stair case to the third floor. Once there the causal walked down the hallway to his home room and waved at everyone as he entered the room.

"Hello everyone. It's all very pleasing to see you all again." He said in his usual calm tone. Andrew moved to and empty seat and sat down, setting his school bag next to him and the desk. He leaned back in the chair and placed his hands behind his head. He let his head drop back and looked up at the ceiling. letting out a blissful sigh and closing his eyes. He was happy anywhere that wasn't where his mother was. School was more his home than anywhere else.

Alto sighed in relief, looking up again. "Thank goodness--Eh?" Did I hear it right? He thought to himself. Condition? He tilted his head, then laughed when she told him the conditions, but deep inside he was preparing himself for the worst. He could finally quit lying but he was going to have to deal with having to be a "burden", as he called himself when he would make someone worry about him.

"Hm? Oh sure, I just have to tell my parents." Saying so the boy pulled out his own phone and quickly texted his mother that a friend of his was coming over. He shoved the gadget back into his pocket and smiled back at the girl.
