Claire, though likes to consider herself in business with the government is more so a pet or one of the first weapons that they will use for their gain. However, being owned to a degree by the government she distances herself and can be quite detached unless wearing her acting facade.

History:
Before the blackout: Claire were still a party girl, sitting on top of the world getting away with what she wanted, when she wanted. She were a wealthy, spoiled queen and life were good and at the palm of her hands as far as she were concerned. Oddly, the shift in powers served as a wake-up call.
The Government/Scientists: Desperate for a logical explanation of what was happening to her body, she admitted herself to the specialists through referral and referral. And with them having one walk right into their faculty, they didn't let her go and insisted on tests to discover the "eighths" abilities. In exchange for training, control, to unlock her full potential and her freedom to wonder out of the labs, they wanted her to seek out the other seven. Claire didn't know who these other seven were or why the authorities thought she could find them, but for control of her life again she decided to help.

It'd be accurate to say her normality or any sense of it has been stripped from her since unravelling her abilities and almost the utter concept of fun.
Claire is on the very breaking point of becoming the weapon they desire but they want the seven.

Claire allegedly had a helpful natural ability that suited the agreement she made with the government to track the seven, and it were just as well because wherever the train were leading her were far out to remote type areas and she personally were getting irritated as the agonizingly long journey stretched out.
Maybe the scientists could have embedded themselves with tracking abilities. Honestly, she didn’t know what she were truly up against. Being told and seeing it from an exterior source compared to the real event or thing worked out a lot differently. Most the time.

Growing sick of the constant swaying motion that changed in pace and stopped inconveniently, she decided to drive from the next station. Not like wherever they were residing were right near a train station anyway but it had spared her a few normal hours. If she could run away she’d go somewhere secluded. Under the radar type of town. And that’s what the lab geniuses had chimed too.

She browsed their files one last time as if for comfort until feeling a disturbing presence lingering over shoulder, causing Claire shoot a glare to the curious man. People’s manners these days needed some serious polishing making her mind even more set on leaving the public transportation as soon as possible. So when it came to a halt, she had briskly made her exit, illegally brought a car to life and sped off until her gut instincts or whatever activated. More likely, the government would call her to stop or she’d call a rest somewhere on her own accord.

As hours dragged by, she decided to call it quits for a day or however long she’d been searching for these people and pull into the next town that presented itself. It appeared to be a small town called lakeside that’s population couldn’t exceed 300 people, if that. Though, while Claire were still in work mode, she thought it best to keep productive and head to the local store, grab what she needed and get out then nap in the car she supposed with no motel in sight.

She rounded a corner whistling an improvised tune with her new bags of supplies up her arms and she paused as her stomach felt funny. Not sickly or butterflies but something strange. She glanced up the street spotting three unfamiliar bodies that felt significant somehow. One whom was female, travelling a distance away from the two males, setting their nerves slightly off by the looks of them shifting their gaze self-consciously.
Claire were slow to realize this is exactly what she sought. But when she did, her bags slid off her arms causing her to awkwardly scramble to pick them up, cursing at herself for being less than elegant and subtle. Now, she might have well gone with it. Once she collected all her items up, mostly consisting of office/homing appliances and groceries she tried an awkward jog mixing with a brisk walk up to the males, playing into flustered traveler.

"Hey!" She called. "Excuse me, are you locals? Um, I was wondering if either of you knew where a motel or something was? I've been travelling all day and I'm just drained." That weren't even a lie, she noted, impressed with herself. These were 97% the people she were looking for, but who had what number and therefore ability.
