Ezra Underhill

[A year earlier
]

Ezra seemingly woke up laying at the altar of a quiet Catholic Church. He was laying next to someone
 another guy! No
it was himself, but dead! Ezra shrieked in horror and crawled backward. He looked at himself down on the altar the back of his head bashed in. A bloodied statuette of the Virgin Mary lay on the floor beside him. Ezra was mortified. “Am I dead? I
 I
I’m a bloody ghost!!” Ezra screamed. He sat there screaming but no one came.

Finally the priest returned and found Ezra’s dead body but didn’t seem to see Ezra. The priest was horrified and ran to the telephone to call the police. Ezra followed the priest trying all he could to gain his attention however he was unseen and unheard. Ezra was indeed a spirit, a real ghost. Hours passed and the police came and went. His body was taken up and the church was cleaned. The news was massive about the tragic death of the famous young mystery novel writer.

Ezra returned home to his flat and sulked. It was paid off in full so he technically owned it. His publicist worked to manage the property so it would be unoccupied until he decided to sell or rent it out. It remained unrented for a year. Everyone that came by to view the property couldn’t help but feel a bad vibe there. Little did they know the ghost of Ezra Underhill was haunting the flat.

Choi, Jin-Sang

Jin-Sang was working the late shift in the hospital as usual. The trauma center was extremely busy that night. Jin-Sang saw to 3 emergency trauma patients and things went over alright. Finally break time came and Jin-sang took a trip to the vending machines. After buying a bottle of water he took a seat out in the hallway of a quieter wing of the hospital. As he leaned his head back against the wall and let out a sigh, he noticed something in his peripheral vision. It was a person staggering into one of the empty emergency rooms. Jin-sang narrowed his eyes in on the person and got up to investigate the strange visitor.

The man was seemingly young and looked to be on drugs. He shook and quivered. He went ravaging through the cabinets of the room grumbling to him-self. “They... gotta have it.. MAN
!! They gotta effin’ HAVE IT!!” the man said in an anxious an jittery manner.

Jin-Sang entered the room with a polite smile and said, “May I help you sir?” He was a little nervous once he saw the desperate young man up close. He has second thoughts. “Maybe I shouldn’t have come in here alone, perhaps I should have called security first?” Jin-Sang thought to him-self. The man looked up at Jin-Sang sharply like a wild animal. Jin-Sang took a step backwards in a bit of fear.

The young man approached Jin-Sang with a crazed look in his eyes. His breathing was heavily labored and his body shook all over. Jin-Sang began to be seriously afraid. Then the young man spoke again, “I need help man
 I, I
ugh” The young man whispered and then passed out onto the floor. He was dripping into a cold sweat and he seemed to be seizing. Jin-Sang checked the young man’s pulse and it was most non-existent. He turned towards the call button to get help. However the young man quickly sprung to life and attacked him. He was very strong and wild. He slammed Jin-Sang down onto the hospital bed and leapt on top of him. Jin-Sang struggled in vain. He screamed but it was cut short by a sharp and painful bite to the neck.

The attacker was a vampire. He sat up, blood dripping from his mouth, and apologized. “I’m, I’m so sorry man
.!! I just can’t help it. I was so hungry
SO MUCH PAIN!!” Jin-Sang groaned in pain. The vampire heard people walk past the room. It startled him and when the coast was clear he bolted. Jin-sang struggled weakly to get up and staggered over to grab a white towel to hold up to his neck. He reached into his pocket and slowly pulled out his cell phone.

“Sa-sa-ki
 I
 I
 need you
 something attacked me, and I
 can’t report
 this
 ah
! Can you please
come meet me?” Jin-Sang whimpered over the phone to his boyfriend. He ended the phone call and after a few moments he patched his wound up enough to cover up what had happened and staggered out of the hospital. Luckily Jin-Sang lived only a block away from the hospital he worked at.

Okada Sasaki

Sasaki sat quietly at the Penumbra bar having a few drinks of blood. He wished Choi could be there with him. However Choi had no clue that Sasaki was a vampire and this atmosphere of the Penumbra would appear strange for anyone unfamiliar with vampires or hunters. He overheard some chattering from the hunters side. It appears someone was hurt nearby the bar. Sasaki wasn’t concerned much at all. “Keep a low profile and you won’t have much trouble.” That was his motto. He of course sat on the Vampires side of the bar, not too far from three ladies carrying on in an interesting conversation. Two of them appeared to be related, one of which was human it seemed.

Sasaki didn’t intrude on the conversation he just kept to himself with his thoughts. He then received a phone call. “Hi Love! How’s your shift?” Sasaki answered in a chipper tone. He held his cell phone smiling as if in a daydream.

The response on the other end of the call was not so chipper, “Sa-sa-ki
 I
 I
 need you
 something attacked me, and I
 can’t report
 this
 ah
! Can you please
 come meet me?”

Ezra Underhill

Ezra had spent many a day alone in his empty flat. His publicist had not been able to rent the place out due to every possible tenant feeling and eerie vibe upon entering the nice flat. When ghosts are present in a place it can sometimes give humans an unwelcome feeling. Ezra sat and watched as person after person came to view the place. After the first few he decided to have a spot of fun and “haunt” the place. He’d make knocking noises and move things a little and it would freak people out enough so that they’d leave. No one could see him only feel his eerie presence. Things were dull and boring. He never really left his flat that whole year. Being outside had become a frightening phenomenon for him. He was all alone. He didn’t feel quite normal anymore, he didn’t feel quite human.

Okada Sasaki and Choi Jin-Sang
Choi staggered home and fell down on his bed. The pain that was initially only in his neck was now surging all through his entire body. Choi could do nothing but convulse on his bed. Sasaki finally reached Choi’s flat and was shocked to see that Choi had been bitten. He was becoming a vampire. Sasaki’s thoughts raced about. He thought, “How could this have happened?”, “Why didn’t the vampire who changed him stick with him? That’s the golden rule
” Sasaki knew what he had to do. Choi needed to drink from a vampire’s blood to stabilize him smoothly that way the transition wouldn’t be as rough. Sasaki knew that in order to save Choi, he’d have to take away his humanity.

After a few agonizing hours Choi stabilized, enough to hold a conversation. He woke up finally feeling safe in the arms of the one he loved. Sasaki smiled down at him. “How are you feeling?” Sasaki asked calmly.

“I feel like I just
died.” Choi responded slowly. He was quite confused with everything that had happened.

“You did Choi.” Sasaki replied as calmly as possible.

Choi looked both freaked out and utterly confused. “I what?!”

“Choi, you were bitten by a Vampire at the hospital. When a Vampire turns a person that person actually dies before the transformation is complete. You’re alive now as an ‘undead’.” Sasaki tried to explain things as calmly as possible but he knew that it was all really overwhelming.

After a moment of silence Choi looked up at Sasaki with focused eyes. “How do you know so much about
 Vampires
and tra-transformations? Normal people don’t just know that sort of thing!” Choi Jin- Sang was beginning to worry.

Sasaki replied, “you’re right love. I’m going to cut to the chase and just say it. Jin-Sang Choi, I am a Vampire.” Sasaki’s face began to look serious for a moment. He then let out a big sigh and took a great breath of air before exclaiming, “Ah
I finally said it. That felt great! You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to tell you that!” Sasaki smiled casually as if he were confessing that he snores in his sleep. However it was the only way he knew to make a difficult situation light, laughter and whimsicalness.

“You
 You
 I’M
? Oh
 God
” Choi responded as he rolled his eyes and placed his hands over his face.

“Hey
now love, at least I was honest with you and you’ll always have me. We’ve got eternity to spend. Well unless one of us gets offed by a hunter or something.” Sasaki encouraged invitingly.

Choi replied, “Hunters!? What??!!” He really didn’t like the sound of that.

“No worries love! I we’re good vampires, we won’t bite people. We can get what we need like normal people, like going to the grocery store. There are places where we can purchase blood to sustain us. I’ll take you to one tonight! Kay love?” Sasaki explained.

Choi wasn’t super happy about all of this, but after having heard that he was dead and now he can still live like normal, some of his fear subsided. It was just sinking in on him that he and Sasaki might be together permanently. It wasn’t necessarily a bad thing but it was a shock nonetheless. Sasaki helped Choi change and get ready to head to the Penumbra for his second drink of blood.

The two got to the Penumbra bar and stepped in hand in hand. Sasaki looked excited and actually happy. Choi on the other hand looked worried. There were so many strange people about. This bar wasn’t quite the same as others. It seemed divided. Sasaki leaned close to Choi, “This bar is a place where Vampires and Hunters come to drink, gather information and to find a safe haven. To be close to your enemy is to help avoid being hit by him. That’s how this bar balances itself out. But we must be sure to mind our manners and stick to our side of the bar. However, you’re a very law bidding citizen so I’m sure you’ll never have a problem.” With that Choi nodded in agreement. The two headed over and sat down in two empty seats at the bar.

Sitting beside them were two vampires. As Sasaki gleefully ordered Choi and him nice large wine glasses of fine blood Choi looked uneasy. He couldn’t believe that this was actually happening. Then he saw the blood and his body seemed to freak out a little. His heart pounded erratically, his eye turned black and his breathing drew heavy. Sasaki quickly applied pressure to Choi’s wrist and it calmed him almost instantly. That served as a pressure point of sorts for vampires. Choi didn’t understand why he was reacting that way to the sight of blood. After Sasaki explained a bit about newly turned vampires and how unstable they are at first Choi began to understand better. The two toasted to their future together and took a drink.

Choi felt a lot better. “Wow
this is a strange feeling. This is actually sweet tasting
It’s hard to believe that this is blood.” Choi said.

Sasaki replied after a chuckle, “Oh
it is. Vampires have been at this for years. They know how to flavor blood in many ways. But the hardcore elder types and natural born vampires tend to stray away from flavored blood.”

They then overheard the conversation of the ladies next to them. “So, tell me. How were you turned Keeva? Is it a story of heart wrenching love or just another random attack that went awry?” She took another long drag from her cigarette before stubbing it out in the ashtray, the long plumes of smoking billowing from her nose.

Sasaki thought that Choi could use some socialization to warm him up. So he decided to jump in on the ladies little chat. “Sorry to intrude ladies but my boyfriend and I were wondering if we could perhaps join in on your conversation? I overhear you two mention turning and well Choi here is newly turned himself. I thought it would be good for him to hear the stories of others and maybe he’d feel a little better. What do you say?” Sasaki was bold but not brash. He was most friendly and his chipper disposition was usually very hard to turn down.

Keeva planned on staying, she need to make sure Keira was safe and she felt like Malice would put her in danger. "She's my twin, if I killed her, I'd kill myself. Not in a sappy way though, our link has doubled and everything she feels, I feel, only it's barely noticeable for me because her pain is mortal." Keeva had not noticed the bite mark that formed under her sleeve, it bleed onto the sleeve of her shirt dying it red.

Keeva was going to answer Malice's question when two men interrupted. "Oh my god! Gbffe!" She kind of shrieked. "Yeah that means, gay best friend, or friends, for eternity." She drank the blood Malice had bought her. "And sure, join in."
"Well, Malice , my story was neither. I was just trying to manipulate a guy into giving me free drugs and sex and well, he fell innlove with me. Why wouldn't he, I am beautiful. Then he bit me and hear I am and well, he's gone with the wind. Ashes blow away so quickly." She looked at Malice. "How 'bout you?"

Keira sat up in her bed, her wrist had stopped bleeding and in the dried blood on her bed sheets there was some sort of black blood, her body somehow rejected the venom. Keira heard a noise from the apartment below and she checked the time. "Isn't that flat abandoned?" She asked aloud. She climbed of her bed, put a bandage on her wrist and left the apartment. She ran down the stairs and knocked on the door before breaking in. She looked around the apartment but couldn't find anything, she shook her head. "Get it together, Keira." She slapped her forehead and continued out the door, closing it behind her.

Malice Whateley

Malice drew another cigarette as Keeva spoke, sparking it up before commenting. “It’s unlikely you would literally die. You are already dead after all.” She pointed conversationally at where the girl’s no longer beating heart was located.

"Oh my god! Gbffe!" She kind of shrieked. "Yeah that means, gay best friend, or friends, for eternity!"

Malice raised an eyebrow but not at the interruption at Keeva’s response, it wouldn’t have been her first way to respond to such a greeting. “I can’t see why not.” She smiled at them once she drew her attention from Keeva’s outburst. “Well then in that case I extend my question, how were you all turned? Anyone have anything particularly exciting?” She asked taking a long drag from her cigarette.

"Well, Malice, my story was neither. I was just trying to manipulate a guy into giving me free drugs and sex and well, he fell in love with me. Why wouldn't he, I am beautiful. Then he bit me and here I am and well, he's gone with the wind. Ashes blow away so quickly."

“I suppose I can’t fault your honesty.” She laughed swigging from her glass. “I don’t have much of a story either to be honest. My village was plagued by a vampire for months, first it was one or two every now and then but it got worse to the point we were losing someone every week.” Malice took another drag from her cigarette, the smoke spilling forth as she spoke. “We banded together in a hunting party, almost everyone left was part of it. We split into three groups each taking a different side of the village. My group found him first; he tore the entire group apart, leaving me for last. He had me pinned against one of the trees to drink. That was when the others showed up.”

“They staked him and he turned to dust whilst he was still drinking, in the confusion he had bled into my mouth so the process was already under way. I was bed-ridden for a few days before I finally turned and killed the whole village.” She took another swig as she finished, showing no particular remorse for the slaughtering of her family and friends.

"Oh my god! Gbffe!" Keeva kind of shrieked. "Yeah that means, gay best friend, or friends, for eternity!"

Sasaki looked a little shocked in response to Keeva’s response. Gay men tended to have an array of feelings about being a girl’s token Gay best friend, some were put off by the thought of being treated like a toy, others loved having a “fag hag” hang on to their every bit of “fabulous” advice. Sasaki was more so tickled than annoyed.

Sasaki replied, “Well friend is a word you don’t often hear in the vampire community. I’ll accept, but I must warn you, I’m not really your frilly type of gay bloke. Choi here isn’t really that way either, but he is the motherly type as in he loves to take care of people.” Choi remained silent for the moment, was still warming up to the idea of fraternizing with Vampires, but then he realized that he was now one of them so he’d better get used to the idea.

“I can’t see why not.” Malice smiled at them. “Well then in that case I extend my question, how were you all turned? Anyone have anything particularly exciting?” Malice asked taking a long drag from her cigarette.

I was bed-ridden for a few days before I finally turned and killed the whole village.” She took another swig as she finished, showing no particular remorse for the slaughtering of her family and friends.

Choi’s jaw was dropped. “That’s horrible
” He said quietly.

Sasaki looked a bit shocked. “Village? Where are you from and how old are you? If you don’t mind me asking of course.” Sasaki asked.

After Malice’s reply, Sasaki explained his story. “Well mine isn’t as eventful as your story, as far as vampire stories go, mines was pretty typical. I was once involved in big business as a corporate executive. A colleague of mine, a rather dashing bloke, had began flirting with me on and off for a couple of months. I was pretty sure that he was interested in me and he indeed asked me out for drinks. I decided to take him up on his offer. We mingled and went to a few places. He was
truly charismatic and charming. We decided to go to a love hotel to
, you know, get a leg over and we did. He kissed and sucked on everything just the way he should, but what was seriously pleasurable at first turned painful. It got too rough and the next thing I knew those playful brown eyes turned frighteningly black and he hissed. That’s when the bite came. I bled badly. He honestly had not planned to turn me, but sex and feeding tend to go hand and hand with vampires. He got so wrapped in the moment, he couldn’t help himself. Since he didn’t mean to do what he did, he decided to save me by sharing his blood. That’s how it happened. He stayed with me the whole time. We separated when I came to the UK. Sorry if my story is a bit graphic, I didn’t mean it to be.” Sasaki then took another drink from his glass. Choi gently rubbed his back. This was the first time he’d ever heard the story of when Sasaki was first turned into a Vampire.

He then looked to Choi and urged him to tell his story. Choi spoke sheepishly. “I was actually turned tonight
” Choi paused for a moment and then took a large drink from his glass. “I’m a doctor and I work at a hospital. I spotted an odd man staggering into an empty emergency room. He was looking for something in a craze. I
 I
thought I’d ask him if he needed some medical attention. He collapsed and then when I went to check his pulse and call for help he went bonkers! He slammed me down onto the hospital bed and pinned me down. That’s when it happened
The demented pleb must have heard people and then fled. I staggered home and met with Sasaki. He turned me before I could just die. That’s it in a nutshell.” Choi felt better after telling his story. The first step in accepting his new state of being.

The night was far too young for the likes of the young wolf that made way down the concrete walkways, with hands buried deep in the pockets of his leather jacket and his head down; plugged by the earphones blasting uplifting pop. He had been coming from a series of things, from the morning classes at the university, to the part time job he had taken to be a mentor to a elementary after school program- and he was exhausted. Then again, most individuals ought to be dealing with hours of lecture and children swinging off your arms endlessly, not to mention the homework that was going to be due the next day or two. What made the week all the more riveting was the very fact that a full moon was going to be expected later that week; giving him days in advance to prepare himself. After keeping this routine for the months that he had, preparation was getting easier to deal with- it was just the hiding from his family and friends alike, that made it difficult.

With a heaving sigh, JinSeuk Lee came to a halt when he heard the jingling of his keys slipping out from his jeans. He stopped, kneeling to pick them up when his eyes wandered over a bar he had oddly enough, did not recognized. He would think that walking down this way back to his flat, he would have seen this place- and yet, he had not. Taking a step forward, he took in a deep breath as he took in the drugging scent of alcohol and.. was that, blood? JinSeuk shook his head quickly, the ear buds from his ears falling out of their place when his mind came to- he had to be imagining that; there was no way a bar should have a scent like that. But that drink did sound very good.

JinSeuk pushed the heavy doors of the bar open, welcoming himself into the warm embrace of the room's heating and the merry chuckles of its patrons. Immediately, the wolf smiled at the jubilant sight and made himself comfortable into one of the stools beside the counter. He waited until he got the attention of the bartender, who eyed him rather menacingly before asking what he wanted to drink that evening.

"I'll just have myself a pint, thanks."

He replied, slipping the man his money before the beverage came to him in a manner of seconds. It was the moment the wolf grabbed his large glass of beer and brought its bitter yet refreshing taste to his lips when he felt his presence, threatened. Scanning through the bar, he took notice to the set of people that actually stayed there- heavily set men and coquettish women, the usual type to linger about in a place like this.. but still, he did not feel very welcomed. The wolf shrugged it off, it must have been his head messing with him through all of the exhaustion from the day. Surely. As JinSeuk digressed from the moment of worry, he took another gulp of his drink and scanned again; perhaps finding a bit of entertainment to blow his way.

Keeva listened to the others tell there tales of turning once Choi was finished she gave him a weak smile. "Bummer, what do you plan to do about the whole doctor thing?" She shrugged. "I mean, unless you can learn to control your bloodlust and walk in sunlight, you're kinda screwed." She said with a smile. Keeva picked up a new scent, one she'd never encountered before. "Oh god, what's that smell? It's like the smell of a dog or something!" She exclaimed rather loudly. She looked over at the guy at the bar, it seemed to originate from him. "Oh my god, is he a werewolf? Oh this is new, this is fabulous. Do we hate him just because he's a werewolf, because that is so cliché." She drank from her glass. "I wonder if Keira would like him?" She wondered aloud, forgetting about her company.

Keira grew bored in the apartment and so thought returning to the bar would be fine, it's not like she had anywhere to go later. Her arm had healed faster than normal and it kind of freaked her out but she ignored it and went to the bar. She walked in and Malice was still conversing with Keeva, "What a fun conversation they must be having." Keira whispered to herself before approaching the bar. "Hey, can I get a bottle of water, please?" She asked the man behind the bar, she took out her purse and gave the man the money. "Thanks." She took a stool at the bar and took out a sketch pad, beginning to draw a flower.

Malice Whateley

Malice stubbed her cigarette out the light extinguishing between her pale fingers. “That, Choi is the joy of being a newly turned and sireless vampire. It’s more common than you might think to be honest.” She answered matter-of-factly, pulling out her cigarettes, snarling at the now empty box. “Bugger!” She growled quietly to herself, tossing the empty packet into the bin and sparking her last cigarette.

“Village? Where are you from and how old are you? If you don’t mind me asking of course.”

“Does the village betray my age then?” Malice smiled smoke following each word from her lips. “I was born in England, eight hundred and
” She paused for a moment. “Forty six years ago. I’m surprised the accent didn’t give it away. Though since you got to ask me, I only think it’s fair you answer the same.”

“Sorry if my story is a bit graphic, I didn’t mean it to be...”

“Oh no! They’re the best ones, nothing quite like a good romance!” Malice laughed nudging the Asian vampire. She listened intently as Choi opened up quietly; he was evidently a shy one. How cute.

“
That’s it in a nutshell.”

Malice’s eyes flew open. “You were turned TONIGHT!? Then what the hell are you doing here! Okada! You should take this boy out for REAL blood. LIVING blood!” her eyes had changed colour as she spoke, standing up from her chair and slamming her fist on the counter. “You can’t have this processed crap for your first meal!” She laughed slapping Choi on the back, ignoring the looks from the bartender and the nearest hunters.

"I mean, unless you can learn to control your bloodlust and walk in sunlight, you're kinda screwed."

Raising an eyebrow Malice blew a plume of smoke into the air. “Hmph, jobs are superficial. We kill people every day, they generally carry money themselves anyway, why bother pinning yourself down like that? It only makes it easier for hunters to find you.” She glanced over towards the hunter side of the room, they were apparently getting to the too drunk to care stage now.

“Do we hate him just because he's a werewolf, because that is so clichĂ©."

Malice couldn’t help but laugh. “No, we don’t hate werewolves as a whole.” She answered finishing her glass. “Because everyone should have PETS!” she called out making sure to be loud enough to be heard a sinister smile creeping onto her lips.

Keeva jumped as Malice slammed the table. "Oh! We could make it like a competition, sure Malice and Okada have the upper hand of age and shit but it'll be fun!" She stood with Malice and clapped twice. "Oh this will be fun!" She smiled and waited for the men to stand. "I'll wait outside." Keeva started to leave when she noticed her sister at the bar. "When did you get back?"

Keira looked up at the man complementing her drawing. "Thanks." She responded but not before he started talking to someone else. "Bit rude." She said to him, she looked to the guy behind him and smiled before returning to her drawing. She heard her sister call to her and looked over her shoulder. "Oh, a few minutes ago. I couldn't sleep so came back to keep an eye on you." She responded.
"Oh okay, well, I'm going out for a drink with Malice and those 2 guys." Keeva said , pointing to the others.
Keira nodded and let her sister run off before turning back around, but her gaze fell on Kyros and lingered, she had a bad feeling, like he was going to do something potentionally dangerous to himself. She shook her head and returned to the drawing.

The door to the ever famous building was thrown open. Making entrance was a large brute of a man. Standing six feet or more, he wore a large brimmed hat; definitely tattered. A long black beard sat atop his chest, mustache completing the circle around his fat lips. A thick leather jacket covered his upper body, while jeans covered his lower portion. Large heavy boots covered his feet. The odd thing about the Hunter was what lay within his grasp. Like a doll, a young human female sat halfway upon the ground. Her hair was mangled and tightly wound within the Hunter's hand. Eyes of the woman were closed, makeup had long been ruined by endless tears. A tight black shirt covered most of her upper body. With her hands raised and grabbing on to the mans strong hand, the shirt rode up a bit, showing off a slim belly. Dirty jeans covered her legs, dipping into a regular pair of flats. Gently the girl sobbed, barely audible to those around. With a huff the man began walking to the bar, dragging the girl behind him. She was not so much dragged, but rather scurried her feet to keep up with him and not have her hair torn from her scalp. As he began to walk, a small screech emitted deep with her throat. Like pulling the reigns on a horse, she followed at his biding. Sitting upon a stool at the bar, he threw the girl against the bar, causing her to hunch over and fall to the ground. Releasing her hair, she was able to cuddle her now wounded side in the fetus position. Dark eyes looked down at her with a smirk. His large hand folded into a fist, slamming it atop the bar. With a deep baritone voice he barked, " Anythin' yer willin' to give an old man!". His accent was light, but hinted at his original breeding grounds. The girl simply laid upon the ground in her current position. Hair covered her face in a mess as she continued to lightly sob. Other than needing to inhale for breathing, the girl did not move an inch.

Please help me. She pleaded within her mind;knowing they had entered a building.Anyone...please.

Alcyone stepped into the smoky bar, knowing full well she looked out of place amongst her patrons in the girly heels, floral summerdress and white suit jacket. She smiled to herself as several heads turned to meet hers as she made her way towards the bar, heels clicking on the marble floor.

"Because everyone should have PETS!"

She whipped her head around at the voice she hadn't heard in years, eyes widening as she realised who it was. She walked up behind the dark haired woman and touched her back lightly as she whispered into her ear.

"Now now, Malice, play nicely with the puppies," her eyes glowed playfully in the low lighting of the bar. "We don't want you causing any more brawls, now, do we?" She laughed lightly, stepping away from the volatile woman in front of her as she felt her tense up at the unexpected intrusion of personal space.

Ezra Underhill (At his Flat)

Ezra dropped a heavy object while in his apartment. He happened to hear the tenant that lives in the flat above him stirring suddenly. “Uh Oh. Maybe they heard that
” Ezra said aloud. He could hear the footsteps of the tenant above leaving his or her flat and heading downstairs. Ezra couldn’t help but feel a strange and bad vibe approaching the door to his flat. He immediately felt a little afraid and decided to hide in the next room. Ezra was a ghost and couldn’t be seen by humans that were alive so he usually had no problem standing, sitting and being among humans because he knew the living couldn’t see the dead. But this was the first time he felt differently, the first time in a whole year that he felt the need to hide from someone.

There was a knock on his door and then it opened. It was a young woman. She had long blonde hair and looked like nice person. Yet Ezra couldn’t escape the feeling she gave off, something strong and seemingly magical. She didn’t notice him hiding in the other room and she eventually left the flat. Ezra was curious and afraid at the same time. As she left Ezra decided to follow her. The young lady returned to her Flat for a moment and then eventually emerged to leave the building. Ezra slowly trailed her out of the apartment complex and into the streets. He was extremely nervous. This was the first time in several months that he had left his flat since returning to it after becoming a ghost. Being outside was a frightening experience. No one could see him trailing the young lady in the night. He just wanted to make sure that he wasn’t seen by her.

The young lady eventually reached an odd looking bar. The name read Penumbra. Ezra had never heard of that place before. The crown coming in and out of the place seemed a bit strange. It was very different than your usual bar hoppers. Ezra didn’t immediately follow the young lady in but waited outside across the street from the bar. After about ten minutes his curiosity got the better of him and he c=decided to cross the street and head in.

As Ezra walked into the seemingly divided bar half of the room looked at him strangely and the other half seemed not to notice him at all. He didn’t think anyone could see him. He was a ghost after all. He walked past the large crowd of people but something seemed different about them. These weren’t normal people. They most certainly weren’t ghosts either.

Choi Jin-sang, Okada Sasaki, and Ezra Underhill

After Choi finished his story, Malice’s eyes flew open.

"I mean, unless you can learn to control your bloodlust and walk in sunlight, you're kinda screwed." Keeva added.

Choi felt a little disheartened to hear that the sun was really a no go for Vampires. He loved his job. He would be heart-broken without being able to heal people. “Perhaps I can work the nightshift
” Choi replied. He needed to make money. He lived comfortably and was definitely used to a upper middle class lifestyle. To downgrade in life quality wasn’t an option if he could help it. Choi was also a little confused when malice mentioned that there was a difference between the blood they were drinking and the blood one attained when on an actual hunt. “Processed
?” Choi said quietly.

Sasaki wasn’t too happy at the prospect of hunting and killing for blood. He had hunted and murdered before and hated how good it felt to kill and drain another. He had vowed to control his urges and settle for the processed and purified blood which mostly came from animals rather than killing people to sustain himself. Yes it wasn’t as physically satisfying, but it made him felt much better morally. Sasaki replied, “Well
I didn’t want to make things harder for him than they needed to be. Once you taste the fresh blood from a human’s veins you have a hell of a hard time settling for processed blood. I wanted my love to never have to go through that if at all possible. I want to safeguard as much of his humanity as possible.” Sasaki spoke in a slightly embarrassed manner.

“Thanks Love. I love you.” Choi said as he blushed. “I’ll say no to the hunt. I don’t want to tear out someone’s throat if I don’t have to.”

There was a large man that entered the bar with a seemingly distraught woman. This man treated the woman very roughly and it was quite attention grabbing. Choi and Sasaki looked over and frowned. “What’s that about?” Sasaki asked in a snide manner. Choi was very concerned. The large man dragging the poor woman behind him, walked right through Ezra because he had not seen him. Sasaki took immediate notice of Ezra. “あぼäșșはćčœéœŠăȘ。。。(ano hito wa yuurei na- that guy’s a ghost
” Sasaki said.

Ezra looked was a bit overwhelmed by all of the people. He had been alone for so long that crowds scared him. Sasaki excused himself from the group and grabbed Ezra gently by the are, leading him over to the rest of the group. “Hi there. Sorry to just drag you over but you looked like you could use some assistance. I’m Sasaki Okada. Nice you meet you.” Sasaki introduced himself.

Ezra’s eyes widened. It was the first time, since his passing, that he’d had physical contact with another. It felt nice. “You
 you can see me
?” Ezra asked sheepishly.

Malice Whateley

Malice watched as Keeva walked away, chancing a glance down at the girl’s backside. “She’s got good spirit.” She smiled lecherously, her attention turning quickly back to Okada and Choi. “You would carry on working?” She asked slightly confused, “Why would you want to do that, you’ve just been given the gift of eternal life and you would squander it working for humans, saving them no less.” She had no intention of hiding her prejudices.

“Processed
?”

“They remove the coagulant from it, so it keeps permanently. In theory it will never go solid. However it ruins the taste and it’s just so much better fresh.” Malice explained taking another long drag of her cigarette.

“I want to safeguard as much of his humanity as possible.”

Malice had to run the sentence through her head a second time, “Why would you want to do that? The mortals don’t think the same of us?” She asked gesturing off towards the hunters behind her. “Well either way, suit yourself more for me.” She smiled darkly.

Malice turned hastily at the touch ready to fight off her attacker only to be greeted with the face of her now long term rival and the owner of the bar itself, Alcyone. “I was wondering when I would see you again. Still trying to rule the city?” She asked sardonically, turning herself around to face the witch.

The bar’s door swung open signalling the entrance of another of the bar’s dark patrons. Though this one was obviously of the hunters side, the nods of respect coming from the others in respect making bile rise in Malice’s throat, how she would love to slit every single one of their throats. She was distracted by this notion by Okada’s return with Ezra.

“You
 you can see me
?”

“Well
Yes.” Malice answered bluntly, shifting in her seat as though she’d just been asked if the ground was beneath them. The sound of a blade and the gasps of someone being injured broke the conversation, causing Malice to swing herself around.

"This man’s bleeding! Quickly! Someone get him a cloth!"

The bar went close to silent as the rooms occupants looked across to one another all hands on weapons, waiting for someone to make the first move, no one wanting to break the neutrality. "He's so juicy." Malice herself had already grabbed hold of her Berettas but the sound of the young vampire returning made her take second thoughts, she launched herself across in front of Keeva, grabbing her by the scruff of the neck and lifting her around a foot off the floor, anger and bloodlust flashing in her eyes. “Not in here!” she growled her ferocity evident in her voice before launching the girl backwards away from the quickly dying hunter. “This is neutral ground!”

"The girl is right" John said to the group "There isn't much time to debate about what to do, because we have someone here who is dieing, but the hospital isn't the right place to go." He pushed with his words, trying to get them moving. Then the girl who spoke to him went into the bar after someone named 'Keeva.' Speaking to the man in front of him "Listen, this girl you saved isn't going to be around much longer to appreciate your good deed, your best bet is to trust me on this. I just got an apartment in this city, I'll have the chauffeur come pick you up and take you there. Just lay her on the bed or a couch or something, and I'll be back soon with some medical supplies." John whipped out his phone and called the chauffeur "I need you to pick me up at the bar, right now."

A few minute passed and a black limo pulled up. The driver's window rolled down. As John handed him three $100 bills he said "Take these two to my apartment as fast as you can, let them in and make sure the door locks when you leave. The girl is feeling very sick, and she should rest, very soon." He turned to face the man again, "It's your choice whether you trust me or not, but again, it's in your best interest to do so, I'm going to go see if anyone in the bar is a doctor."

John walked in just as things were settling down, he came up to the group which now included the girl who spoke to him. Tensions looked like they were flaring as one girl got shoved by another, and they shouted back and forth, but he wouldn't wait for them to settle it, "I apologize for cutting into whatever is the problem, but I really need to know if any one you are associated with a hospital. I really need to get to one, and not for myself" he spoke while looking across the line of people sitting at the bar.

Malice Whateley

Malice bared her fangs at Keeva’s struggling form, luckily escaping the new-turn’s flails, although a well-placed scratch cut across her cheek, a small trickle of blood marking out a quickly healing trio of lines. “You need to learn when to fight and when to step the fuck back!” she growled up at the young woman.

“ENOUGH!”

Malice turned towards the sudden outburst but didn’t otherwise relinquish her hold on Keeva, she could feel the spells effect taking hold around her, she was all too familiar with Alcyone’s spells. Slowly Malice lowered the girl back to her feet giving her a push for good measure. “Your sister needs to learn her place!” She snapped as Keira burst in, “And you should be careful who you threaten mortal!”

As soon as the spell was dissolved from around her, Malice marched angrily back towards Alcyone. “She will do as she’s told or I will personally remove her
” her cold eyes gradually returned to their emerald green. “And her sister.” She answered in passing to Alcyone’s command, not that she particularly listened to the witch normally but Malice had always had a great respect for the traditions of war and neutrality was one of the fundamentals.

She took to her seat again, downing her glass and calling for another from the nearby barman.

"I apologize for cutting into whatever is the problem, but I really need to know if any one you are associated with a hospital.”

“Hmph, looks like you might still be able to continue your pointless career after all Choi.” Malice stated, tossing coins at the barman, her tone more sarcastic then before.

She glanced over to the slumped form of the hunter who was still bleeding heavily upon the bar. “Seems like a terrible waste to me. All that blood and it’s just spilt on the floor, if it weren’t for the hunters we could always drag him outside and finish him off.” She mused, more to herself since Okada was not a mortal drinker and Choi seemed entirely against the idea altogether.

Ezra Underhill, Okada Sasaki, and Choi Jin-Sang

“You
 you can see me
?” Ezra asked. However the others seemed a bit un-phased and unsurprised by this discovery. Erza was very confused, more so than before.

“Well
Yes.” Malice answered bluntly, shifting in her seat as though she’d just been asked if the ground was beneath them. Ezra was truly baffled however the others seemed a bit un-phased and unsurprised by this discovery. Erza was very confused, more so than before. He had no clue that ghosts could be seen by Vampires and Werewolves or most all other supernatural beings for that matter.

The sound of a blade and the gasps of someone being injured broke the conversation, causing Malice to swing herself around. "This man’s bleeding! Quickly! Someone get him a cloth!"

Ezra, Sasaki and Choi were confused as to exactly what was going on. “What’s going on?! What just happened?!” Ezra questioned in a panic.

Sasaki replied, “It looks like someone couldn’t stick to the rules and didn’t keep their damn attitude to his or her self. That human hunter has just been brutally slashed.” Sasaki was not at all happy to see the scene that unfolded before him. He didn’t drink freshly drained blood anymore, however when freshly drawn blood was in the vicinity, it was hard to keep himself under control, even though he looked so composed on the outside.

Choi was having a very hard time controlling his impulses. He could feel his whole body trying to lunge at the bleeding hunter. He didn’t want to but it was like his body had a will of its own. Sasaki quickly wrapped his arms around Choi’s waist to restrain him lightly. Choi was fighting to remain calm, a fight in which he won.

"Take these two to my apartment as fast as you can, let them in and make sure the door locks when you leave. The girl is feeling very sick, and she should rest, very soon." The man said to the Driver. "It's your choice whether you trust me or not, but again, it's in your best interest to do so, I'm going to go see if anyone in the bar is a doctor." A man said. He seemed to be a Vampire. "I apologize for cutting into whatever is the problem, but I really need to know if any one you are associated with a hospital. I really need to get to one, and not for myself" the man spoke while looking across the line of people sitting at the bar.

Choi was hesitant to speak up. After settling his initial reaction to the bleeding hunter he didn’t think it was a good idea for him to be near the man. He could ditch the urge to kill him that floated around in the back of his mind.

“Hmph, looks like you might still be able to continue your pointless career after all Choi.” Malice stated, tossing coins at the barman, her tone more sarcastic then before. Choi seemed to give a slightly startled jump at the sound of the suggestion.

Sasaki nodded his head in agreement with Malice. He didn’t feed, he drank. However that didn’t stop him from feeling bad about wasted blood. Sasaki gave Choi a nudge of confidence. “You can do it love. Just focus on the life in need of saving and not his blood. You’ll be fine. I believe you will.” Sasaki encouraged Choi.

Choi finally spoke. “I’m a doctor. However I have no supplies here. It would be difficult for me to treat him without the proper equipment. Are you opposed to taking him to a hospital?” Choi asked as he stepped forward. He was beginning feel less threatened by the site of the blood, which was a good sign.

Keira did not care if she was invited or not, but she followed after John, she hopped over the decapitated body and followed the man. "We may need more than a doctor." She told him as they waited for Choi. "I can take a cab to your place, do what I can to give you more time for getting the stuff you need. What's the address?" She took out her phone, ready to call for a taxi as soon as he told her the address.

Keeva walked down the streets, "God why does this town empty so early?" She sighed as she through another empty beer can into a bush. She lifted the last can to her face. "Last one and I'm not even tipsy." She sighed and threw the beer can at a park car, smashing the windshield. "Oops..." She said to herself sarcastically. Just her luck that a police officer was watching her. He approached her but he didn't get to say anything, seeing as how Keeva had bit into his throat, draining him of blood. Her face was covered in it as it sprayed and her eyes were a horrid and empty black. "Hungry!" She cried. "So very hungry!"

(OOC: I edited my original post and added parts of Digital.ps' post for continuity reasons.)

Choi Jin-Sang, Ezra Underhill, and Okada Sasaki

Choi, Ezra and Sasaki watched and listened as John looked over to the hunter, his face into the bar. "I'm not looking to save him. I'm looking to save the girl he dragged in here" he turned to look at the doctor who came up to him "I don't have time to debate about this with you, I need you to take me to the hospital and let me into the supply closet. If you don't help, I'm going to go and break into it anyway, but that will create much more of an ordeal."

Choi wasn’t too happy about the thought of letting the man die or breaking into the hospital for this person. It was la bit of a dig on his integrity as a doctor. He was very upset about this whole ordeal. He was robbed of his humanity, possibly of his job and life. Would he be reduced to drinking processed blood in a bar and stealing supplies from his hospital for other vampires like John? Choi didn’t answer yet.

"If it weren’t for the hunters we could always drag him outside and finish him off.” John heard one of the other women say as he had walked up to the bar. "Allow me to do that for you." With this he walked up to the half dead hunter, grabbed him by the back collar of his shirt, and pulled him off the bar stool, he landed on the ground with a *Thump*. As John pulled him outside a younger hunter stood up and started reaching for his gun. John stopped and looked him in the eyes "Don't. This is better for both sides" and continued.

Ezra was terrified of what was about to happen to the half dead hunter. He clung to Sasaki’s arm, as he seemed to be a neutral and safe guy to cling to. Ezra felt like the world had gone to Armageddon while he was locked away in his flat the whole year. There were vampires and werewolves, hunters and Ghosts like him. It was all overwhelming. Ezra knew he wouldn’t leave Sasaki’s side, if he did he’d be too afraid to move at all.

John got to the door, opened it and rolled the man out onto the sidewalk, turned his head halfway back to the bar with the doctor and said "C'mon, if you want to save someone's life." Letting the door slam behind him, John unsheathed his katana and put an end to the hunter's misery, his head rolled into the street.

Choi’s eyes widened in shock as John dragged the dying hunter outside and killed him. Choi didn’t care for this man’s attitude and disregard for the life of the hunter at all. The hunter was supposedly a bad man but still he was living and life should be preserved. However Choi couldn’t accept the fact that he was now technically considered dead and not living. That was hard to handle. It was too late to do anything for the hunter but perhaps he could help the girl. Choi turned to Sasaki and said, “I will help. I will go to the hospital with them. Please come with me.”

Sasaki replied with a smile rubbing Choi’s shoulder, “You didn’t have to ask love.” He then turned to Ezra and said with a gentle smile, “You my ghostly friend should tag along to. I don’t really see you hanging about here.”

Ezra nodded in agreement after scanning the bar one more time. “After all of this would you mind taking me to my home? I’m a bit afraid to go back there alone. I bet this sounds really stupid of me.” Ezra asked timidly.

Sasaki replied calmly, “Not at all. Don’t you fret. We’ll stick with you all the way. Besides, I’m interested in knowing how and where a ghost lives.” Sasaki chuckled. He liked Ezra. Ezra gave Sasaki the impression of a gentle and non-threatening guy, one you could trust.

Sasaki, Choi and Ezra headed outside and followed John and Keira. Sasaki took a moment to ask Ezra about his situation. He found out that Ezra had been living alone in his old flat for a year since he died. Usually ghosts only exists for a moment before crossing over to the afterlife. However, every now and then one does not pass over due to unfinished business. It was then that Ezra spotted an flash of light. Anyone that was not human or technically alive would have seen it. The dead hunter was not a ghost. He stood there next to his lifeless decapitated body looking very angry. The huge ghost fumed with rage as he glared at John. “

“YOU FUCKING CHOPPED MY BLOODY HEAD OFF!!!” the Hunter’s ghost screamed in rage. Before he could do anything a large metal door appeared on the wall outside of the Penumbra bar. It was the Hunter’s door to the afterlife. He turned toward the door in confusion and opened it.

“Excuse me Miss. You shouldn’t look into that doorway. You’re a living being. Looking into death will reap bad things onto your life.” Ezra warned Keira not to look into the door. He had never had an encounter with a doorway to death before but for some inherent reason he knew to warn her. Perhaps some things just came naturally to ghosts.

The ghost of the hunter opened the door, flipped John off, and walked through it. Ezra could see and feel the darkness on the other side. The Hunter would not be going anywhere good it seemed. The door faded.

Ezra, Sasaki and Choi hurried to catch up with John and Keira as they headed to the hospital. It was then that they overheard John's plan.

"It'd probably be a good idea to explain to you what my plan is." John said, looking over to Keira. "Plan A is that the doctor comes with us, when we get to the hospital he brings you in and takes you straight into an emergency room, and I follow. Plan B is if he doesn't come with, we'll go in and immediatly ask for someone to take us to an emergency room."

John continued. "Whichever happens, my cover up is acting as your concerned boyfriend, and once we get a room, I'm going to go and find the supply closet and steal some blood bags. Plan C is if something screws up and our cover is blown. Your main priority will be making it outside to the front of the hospital until I get out there, from there we go to the apartment." John turned to start walking to the hospital "C'mon, we gotta walk fast."

Choi was not at all happy to hear what exactly John had planned. He almost stopped dead in his tracks. However Sasaki gave Choi a nudge forward so that he'd continue on. "Remember, this is more for the young lady that hunter killed than your need to continue being a doctor. I don't feel this vampire means any disrespect toward your job but he wants to help the lady that been wronged regardless of the consequences. Just keep your eyes on the prize here and the other things won't bother you. Don't worry love I and our ghost friend here are right beside you all the way." Sasaki was sure to give Choi a gentle and warm smile, it usually helped him feel at ease.

The group caught up to John and Kiera. “Alright. I’m not a fan of stealing from my place of work but I’ll help you for the sake of the young lady. What are her general health concerns, do you know? It helps so that I’ll know what supplies to gather.” Choi asked John.

Keira nodded to him with a slight smile. "I suppose that plan isn't entirely stupid." She shrugged and watched as the rest of the group approached. "Are you sure you'll need me? You do seem to have an entourage." She smiled when she noticed the group. She recognised 2 of them but there was a new guy, he seemed familiar to her, but she didn't know where she had seen him before, she shrugged it off believing he just had 1 of those faces or she had seen him In the bar before.

She surprisingly noticed the white light and heard him say, "Excuse me Miss. You shouldn’t look into that doorway. You’re a living being. Looking into death will reap bad things onto your life.” She then tilted her head. "Then maybe you shouldn't look into it either." He didn't seem like a vampire but he could have been a werewolf, but just to be safe she assumed he was human. She looked at the door and recognised it as well. "I've seen that door before." She said, then she noticed the dead hunter was now a ghost and it was his door. She looked away from the door just to be sure she didn't bring bad things into her life. When she looked back up, the door was gone and so was the hunter, she looked back at the guy who told her to look away and nodded with a smile. "Thanks." It was then that she noticed his difference, he was dead and hadn't passed on, he was a ghost. She turned to John, her face worried and a little scared. "I can't go to the hospital." She told him. "You have this group, I'll go to the apartment and do what I can for her." She couldn't tell him why but she had to hope he'd just let it go, she couldn't go tova place that probably had more dead in it than the bar behind her and she couldn't cope with it, last time she did it didn't go to well.

Malice Whateley

Malice rolled her eyes at John’s show of bravado. “Oooh, well aren’t you such a big brave man!” she commented sarcastically, otherwise showing no emotion about the hunter’s demise. She remained at her seat as the others left. Malice had no interest in that much work for one mortal who probably deserved it anyway.

Finishing her glass she left her seat, walking back in through the throng of people, intending to follow after Alcoyne. After she’d managed to shunt her way through the throng of people she was confronted by two of the bar’s bouncers, one appeared mortal though the faint smell of wet dog gave away his werewolf nature. The other was obviously a hunter from his self-righteous glancing down at the vampire. Both were at least 6” 5’ and bore the scars that were common in both of their line of works.

“What do you want, Vampire!?” The hunter growled down at her sneering. “This room’s private.” He seemed pleased with his stand, though the werewolf next to him seemed totally stoic.

“Fuck off, Hunter! I’m here to see Alcoyne. She wished to see me.” Malice answered, matching the gigantic hunter’s glare, her piercing green eyes locked with his brown.

“You don’t think that’s really going to work do you?” The hunter asked folding his arms and raising an eyebrow.

“Well I’m going through whether you give me permission or not but really you’d much rather that nothing happens within the building so if you let me through there’ll be less shit. Ok?”
