a character in “Shadows at Dawn: The Gathering”, as played by Horseygirl

Description

Image
Rose Larkin
**

Age
20

Additional Appearance
Rose has long red curls that reach just past her elbows, with long bangs that often hang in her eyes. Her strange eyes are really what catches people. She has one cool, grassy green eye and one bright, deep violet eye. They are intensified with her thick dark lashes. Her eyes are very expressive, and are really the only way you can tell if you've hurt her. She never expresses pain, but it's written clearly in her eyes.
Her skin is a light shade of ivory, and like in her fox form, Rose is very small. Just under five feet tall.

In her fox form, she's significantly smaller than the wolves. But this can be used to her, and the pack's advantage. She's faster and more agile then the others, so she makes the perfect scout. But as for fighting and hunting, she's good at finding prey and alerting the others without scaring the animal. She can't howl but she makes a small squeaking noise- somewhere between a yip and a bark. It's really quite adorable, but annoys her to no end. When she's finding prey for the pack, someone has to be relatively close to the area she's in or nobody can hear her. She has thick red fur with white on her chest, and black stocking-like marks on her legs and the tips of her ears.

Image
Clothing
Rose tends to wear plain tee shirts or tank tops, with jeans and flats. Occasionally she'll wear sweatshirts that hang over one of her shoulders. But she never wears skirts or dresses. If she really needs to dress up she will wear a blouse- but never a dress. They just are not comfortable for her. At all.
As for jewelry, she wears a necklace that she never takes off. It was her mother's. It is lovely. It looks like a tiny vase, with a tiny petal pink rose inside. (Seen at the bottom of the page)

Weapon
Due to her small size and lack of strength, Rose has to rely heavily on weapons. She always has at least two daggers hidden somewhere, that is very skilled with it. She can have one out and in your heart before you can blink.

Faction
She is a were fox, but part of the werewolves' pack.

Rank
Gamma

Animal
Fox

Background
While Rose's French mother was pregnant with her and her siblings, her father abandoned them. Her mother's sister, who was barren, stayed with her to help her raise the children. Even when she was a newborn, Rose stood out from her brothers and sisters. Not only because of her strange eyes, but she was always one step ahead of her siblings. She was the first to open her eyes, the first to walk, and could easily overpower even her largest brother when playfigting.
Even as a child, she was rather witty. But she was always very affectionate- that was the was she was raised. With her mother and her mother's sister, she was always surrounded by love and knew no violence.

But when she was young, tragedy struck. A starving rouge wolf attacked her family at the dead of night, killing her family. Rose fought hard as she could, but she was still just a pup. The wolf was amused by her strong will. He left her nearly dead, but still alive.

Another wolf found the odd little pup barely hanging on, and decided to save her. You can imagine her horror when she awoke and found herself surrounded by wolves. She was big and strong compared to her siblings, but these wolves could kill her with just the swipe of their paw. She was in rough shape but still tried to fight. Managed to draw blood on one of the wolves- a little cut about the size of a staple.
But still, her spirit was impressive. They nursed her back to health, and adopted her as their own. Rose grew to love them. She had always been odd, bu now she was completely strange. A little fox with mismatched eyes accepted into a wolf pack.

Personality: (please be elaborate)**
Rose isn't one who takes to being forced into things well. She loves having freedom, and hates being confined. She will allow herself to be confined if she must, but on her own terms. If a stranger demands anything of her without even attempting to befriend her, she often will do the opposite just to smite them.
Rose can't stand being thought of a damsel in distress- if someone dares say she's too 'weak' for something, there's no stopping her. She won't stop until she has done it, much better then they ever could. The fact that she actually is weaker then the wolves drives her insane. She is always trying to prove that even though she isn't a great fighter or hunter, she's useful for other things.

Rose's bright and determined spirit is captivating, but she only shows it when she is completely comfortable. Sometimes she trusts a little to easily- her heart can be won over with just one kind word. She loves to tease her friends, but it's all in good nature. She would never hurt someone she cares about. When she's around the ones she cares about, she is very relaxed and lighthearted. Around the pack, she is often rather sarcastic and witty.

It's often hard to tell if you've hurt her, because she always hides her pain. Wether it be emotional or physical. She doesn't like other people seeing her in pain- no matter how close she is to them. If you don't know her well, you wouldn't be able to tell if she was hurt or not at all.

How do you feel about the other faction
Rose is very protective of her pack, and is somewhat wary of the were cats.

Miscellaneous
Theme song: Down- Jason Walker
She always wears a necklace that her mother gave her before she died.

Rose Larkin

Rose's small form was laying across a low branch, her long red locks hanging down. She wasn't quite asleep, but she wasn't fully awake either. A small noise pulled her from her half-asleep state. She let out a long yawn and stretched out her arms as she opened her mismatched eyes. She had left the house that she lived in with the wolves early in the morning, like she usually did. Occasionally if one of the other pack members where up she would invite them along. She liked to climb high in one of the trees and watch the sun rise as the early morning dew set in the grass.

With another long yawn, she swung her legs over the branch and jumped onto the ground. Turning to where she heard the noise, she listened carefully. Another quite noise. Not the soft footsteps of a deer or the chirping of birds. More like. . . The sound of paws against the earth. Maybe the wolves? It sounded like a bunch of bodies, moving then settling.

As quietly as possible, she walked towards the sound and stopped dead in her tracks when she spotted it. Cats. She knew they had spotted her, too. She didn't exactly blend in- with her fiery red hair, green and violet eyes, and oversized sweatshirt she borrowed from one of her male pack mates that left one of her shoulders bare.
Of corse, it would be impossible to pass off as a human. Her pack mates often told her what an interesting smell she had- in her human form she smelled distinctly like a fox, but the smell of wolf usually overpowered it.

Rose quickly turned on her heel, and ran. She would've been faster in her fox form, but she didn't bother to shift. They where close to the wolves' ranch house, so it didnt take long for her to reach the home. She was relived as she saw Renmy just outside. "Ren- there's a bunch of cats just east of here. Not like little housecats- like lions and jaguars and cheetahs." she told the wolf, before hurrying inside to find Anvar. Instead she found. . . Nobody. Everybody seemed to either be out or in their rooms.

Figuring she would probably regret this, she knocked on Brandin's door. "Where's Anvar? There's a small pride of what I think are were cats that where just hunting on our territory." she called through the door, not particularly sure if he would even bother to answer her.

There it was again. Brandin's sleep ruined once more. Do they truly want to anger him so greatly? Or, do they truly want him to kill someone? Honestly, he was leaning to the latter part. He would not mind killing someone at this very moment. Sitting up on his bed, the blanket that covered him fell like silken water. His head was lowered as his hair prevented anyone to see his face from any angle. Despite that, it was fairly obvious that he was not pleased at all. Was it very hard for them to understand to never wake him up? Especially when he had explicitly demonstrated it earlier. There were times that he found people who opposed him interesting but right now, he only see them as someone to be killed. Raising his head, his eyes of gold and red glared at his bedroom door. The scent that permeated through his room was from the fox that had joined the pack. He hated it with a vengeance even more now. It also struck him slight wonder as to when did this fox think they were in good terms. He never once showed her any kind gestures even casual ones. As noted by the Alpha, he was completely ignoring the fox and had even received a lecture about being hospitable. Thus, he did what was best for him, ignore it all together.

Standing from his bed, Brandin did not bother making himself presentable by covering himself with his previously discarded robe. He opened the door and looked at the one who had the nerve to wake him up with intention. His eyes of red and gold seemed to glow with such intensity. It was probably due to the rage he was feeling. Without another word and a second to waste, he right hand grabbed the fox's throat and lifted her a few inches from the ground. It was not difficult for him especially when he is not in a good mood to begin with. He moved forward with her in hand as he closes the door to his room. Each movement, his hold on her neck tightened. He intends to slowly choke her. His eyes showed no respite or mercy. He did not even fear the consequences of his action once the other pack members see what he was about to do. Furthermore, he could careless about her reason to have the guts to come to him.

"It seems you have a death wish, fox."

Brandin's voice was oozing with maliciousness and rage. There was nothing mellow or even the hint of being sleepy. Without warning, he roughly threw the fox to the nearby wall with much force. His hold on her neck remained. He has no intention of releasing his prey any moment soon.

"When did my room became a place for idiotic questions especially to yours."

Pushing her further into the wall as cracks were beginning to be apparent. Brandin leaned his face closed to hers. There face had only a few centimeters apart. There was no doubt that he was a handsome man in all angles. This position would be considered romantic if only his intention was not of a terrible one. However, his face was twisted with the lust to kill and to hate.

"You want to know where Anvar is? I'll show you when you're dead."

It was definitely not a threat. Brandin's words were a declaration. He was truly going to kill her. His hold tightened even more as he could hear the she-fox having difficulty breathing. This brought a smile to his lips which was so sadistic. Taking out something from the pockets of his pants, it was a scissors. The infamous weapon that Brandin uses to kill those who offend him. Raising the scissors in front of Rose, he did not hesitate as he plunges the scissors to its target, the space just between the eyes. However, something with a glint caught his eyes. This made him stopped as the sharp edge of the scissors was just a breath away to pierce her head. There was a moment of silence as his hold on her neck loosened.

"Don't get in my way, next time. Fox."

After saying that, Brandin released his hold as he dropped her unceremoniously on the floor. He stepped back from her and kept his scissors. His eyes of red and gold has lost the raging intensity. It would seemed that he had managed to calm down. Placing a hand on his face, it covered half of it perfectly. He even released a small yawn indicating that he was still sleepy despite everything that he had done. It was then he remembered the fox saying something about werecats. Well, the desire to tear somebody apart has still not disappear. He needed to relieve it. After all, it is not healthy to keep it all bottled up. Glancing at the she-fox, he had cold expression on his face.

"Do something useful. Find the betas. They should be patrolling and report this."

When that was said, Brandin walked away from her and did not return to his room. Instead, he had decided to check out the werecats at his own leisure. Stepping outside the house, he took noticed of Renmy who was already in wolf form.

"Renmy. I will be hunting cats. Come or not. You decide."

At the end of his statement, Brandin shifted to his wolf form which was quite an intimidating sight. His bloody red fur and his height was enough to strike a certain sense of fear. When it was done, he bit his pants that was left behind due to his sudden change and threw it inside the house as it landed on one of the chairs in the living room. Afterwards, he ran off without waiting whether Renmy would follow or not.

Vale Alvers

Vale peered over at him as he answered her thought process. “Yay, more shiny stuff for Vale!” She tilted her head to the side, her eyes closed in a cheerful grin. It was dropped as he continued speaking, “A secret, huh? I’ll try not to tell anyone then.” A conspirational look crossed her face, and then she coughed quietly, her focus tilting to the noises her alpha was making as they left the house.

Her eyes quickly flickered to the clearing as they came upon it, her small fingers entwining into the alpha’s hair and then out distractedly. The sun certainly gave off a pretty reflection on the pond water, and so naturally that’s where Vale’s attention was harbored. The scents of the wildflowers also reached her nostrils, and she smiled again, inhaling deeply.

However, she was quickly shaken out of her trance-like state by Anvar calling her princess again. She merely blinked, and then spread her elbows out so he could manage getting her to the ground better. "Here, see that big black stone in the middle? Run up to it and see if you can read the two names on it." Vale nodded, quickly tottering away to the pond waters. As nimbly as a seven year old can be, she hopped on the stepping stones, her left hand in her pocket while the right remained loosely by her side. She then climbed up to the big plaque, and stood on her tippy toes, her hands both supporting her by clutching the corners as she leaned over it and tried to read the names. Her right ear twitched as Anvar called to her, and she turned to focus on him.

“Wildflowers? Okay.” The pup nodded, walking lightly towards a patch she thought looked good. Kneeling down, she carefully placed her fingers at the base of each stem and pulled up, nearly tumbling over from the reaction. But she caught herself and giggled quietly, finishing up her job and placing it at the base of the black stone. She then grinned, spinning around and quickly trotting down the small rise and over the stepping stones to her Alpha. Her eyes were completely focused on the gun resting in his hands.

Renmy Soril

Renmy had just placed her paws down on the ground when her ears flickered up to attention, and a comical look of exasperation fell to her face as she scented the pack’s fox. She paused, standing still with her head tilted to the side fractionally. Obviously something was up judging by her stature, and her left ear flicked distractedly.

"Ren- there's a bunch of cats just east of here. Not like little housecats- like lions and jaguars and cheetahs."

Her head snapped up in attention, and her ears immediately pressed back against her skull, a look of defense taking up residence among her wolfish facials. However, Renmy didn’t get a chance to say anything back to her as she disappeared inside the house. Which was a bad idea all around what with Anvar being gone and she might call out, thus waking up Brandin’s wrath.

So instead, she settled down, her mind racing with both the complications of the werecats (obviously they’d have to be, those species don’t just hang around each other, let alone live in this area unless zoo bred, but even then they wouldn’t survive) but also Rose’s foolish move. It wasn’t that she was protective of the fox, but a pack was a pack, and you don’t just leave someone out of it. Their numbers made them strong and kept all stats up.

Her ears were swiveling back and forth, trying to listen in on what was happening inside. A look of disdain quickly made itself apparent, and she wrinkled her nose for a moment. And then finally Brandin decided to come out after some display of something or other on the upper level of the house. She of course had no idea what had happened, other than him ruining the wall. Sure, it wasn’t normal at all for even a wolf to hear that, but when you break so much stuff in your life, you start to easily pick up on the tearing of mass. Anvar wouldn’t be happy about it, as it would cost money they could use for other more important things. Or he might just leave it there. She let out a huff of breath, much more lax than she was this morning around him.

”Renmy. I will be hunting cats. Come or not. You decide.” She waited a second as he turned to wolf form, his seemingly blood-stained fur a prominent sight in the sunlight. She was used to it by now, and it only intimidated her fractionally. As he started off, she took one last look towards the house and quickly rose to her paws, loping after him mellowly. He was part of the pack, and she wasn’t just about to let him go alone. Sure, he was strong, but up against who knows how many cats, he could be outmatched. It was good to have backup, even if you didn’t need any. He wouldn’t call on her even if he was in trouble, but she’d have already stepped in on her own. And then get yelled at after, that was just how Brandin seemed to be.

She kept her eyes low and focused on the ground, her tail at a neutral position and her paws making little to no noise. Despite being clumsy in human form, which was only when she was around other people or not paying attention to all aspects around her (like the water and slipping), she was unusually deft in wolf form or when she was alone. She made sure to keep a small distance between them, but didn’t let the gap grow too largely. She was the one in the pack (other than perhaps the fox) who stayed behind and took up a more stealth-like approach to things. She wasn’t strong physically, but you didn’t need to be physical. So while Brandin might go rush into the area like a mad man, she’d take up a good position in a tree, downwind, and keep tabs and lend a little bit of assistance to tilt the tables if need be.

James licked his paw which had blood on it as he spotted the girl and then his whole posture and movements just froze however his tail dropped as he saw the girl turn and run he smelled her the wind coming to them, wolf? Yes but something else which interested him. "Oh so not good." his hair on his neck went up and he glanced at Astrid waiting for what she ordered? Retreat was not a option and he knew that, along with everyone else. So he slowly moved a little forward towards the edge of the clearing and stopped waiting for Astrid to tell them what to do.

Rose Larkin

Rose regretted knocking on Brandin's door as soon as he opened it and glared down at her with insanely angry eyes. Before she could speak of move, he snatched her throat and lifted her off the ground with ease. As he stepped out of his room and shut the door, his grip tightened on her neck.

"It seems you have a death wish, fox." He growled at her, no mercy in his eyes. She meant to speak, but her voice came out as a low snarl. It was probably better that she hadn't spoken- she had no intention of begging for mercy, and the insult she was going to throw at him would've only made her situation worse. She wasn't one to just take a blow lying down, and anger sparked in her eyes.

Without warning, her body was thrown into a wall. Pain spread across her right shoulder. Another snarl escaped her as she clawed at the hands around her throat. He didn't seem to notice. "When did my room become a place for idiotic questions, especially yours." Her breath was coming out in short pants now as he pushed her farther into the wall. Damn, he was strong.
He leaned in closer, so his face was only centimeters from hers. She was tempted to slap him. Rose thought he was vicious and crazy, but she had been wrong. He was completely insane, and cared only for killing. Why did Anvar even keep him around?

"You want to know where Anvar is? I'll show you when your dead." he was going to kill her. Her lips curled into a silent snarl. She was struggling to breathe, but would never give him the satisfaction of seeing fear in her eyes. He pulled scissors out of his pocket. She dug her nails into his hands, but still didn't dare to show fear to this monster. She felt herself tense and her eyes close as he brought the scissors to her face, planning on killing her.

For a moment, it was completely silent. Her eyes fluttered open as his grip on her neck loosened. "Don't get in my way next time, fox." with that, he dropped her on the ground, in a heap. She touched her neck as she caught her breath. "Do something useful. Go find the betas. They should be patrolling and report this." he ordered, and turned and left her alone.

"I don't take orders from you, filthy mutt!" Rose shouted after him, fury clear in her voice. Fine. She would find Anvar on her own. When she roughly shoved the door open, both Renmy and Brandin -who she decided she would now call Mutt from now on- where gone. Forcing herself to calm down enough to focus on the smells in the air, she was able to pick up on Anvar's familiar scent easily. Still reluctant to shift, she tracked the alpha in her human form. It made it more dificult, but since she wasn't a strong fighter she had focused on sharpening her tracking skills.

When she spotted Anvar and Vale, she broke into a run and almost crashed into the alpha. Vaguely she figured she was probably a wreck- with her long messy curls, bruises across her neck and bare shoulder, and fury in her mismatched eyes. "Anvar- there's a group of were cats just east of the ranch house."

A warm smile had rested on Anvar's lips, the pup would do anything he asked, maybe she might complain and pout if it was something she really did not want to do but always did it in the end. Out of all the members of the pack, the alpha cared for Vale the most, not juat because she was the most physically frailest but also because she was the closest thing to a daughter he would ever had, he found the females of the pack all attractive but they felt more like sisters or best friends than mates. "Thank you for that my little princess, now it's time for you to learn how to use a...." He trailed off when his ears picked up movement and to his surprise saw the pack's fox sprinting towards them.

Like the rest of his pack he remembered exactly how he met each one and Rose's story was very similar to some of the others, wounded and abandoned, picked uo by one of the pack memebers that were around when Anvar was only the beta of the old pack. Even when she was close to death and surrounded by wolves the little fox had the spirit to defend herself, infact it was Anvar himself who received her fury which had left a small scar under his right eye, something he always reminds her of whenever she's feeling down about her abilities, often with a jest about how she was a lousy aim and should have got his eye.

He was snapped out of this little bit of nostalgia when she spoke up. "Anvar- there's a group of were cats just east of the ranch house." Were cats? Shit is the pride trying to expand their terrotory again? His thought was broken when he saw the state the gamma was in. "You better take me to them quickly but in human form ok? I want to handle this at least somewhat diplomaticaly." His hands were a blur of movement as they unloaded Retrobution, placed the bullets back into his pockett and brought out the custom rounds. "But before we do that tell me who did that to you."

He gripped her chin gingerly, trying not to cause her any pain as the bruises looked tender, he lifted it it and side to side as he gained a better look at them, seeing finger shaped contusions around her throat. A frown flickered for a second as he guessed who would hace done this but his signature wolfish smile soon appeared, looking into those beautifully miss matching coloured eyes he said. "Don't worry about the bruises though, they haven't stopped you being so god damn pretty."

"You better take me to them quickly but in your human form ok?" Anvar ordered, and Rose nodded once. Anvar was one of the very few people she would listen to when they asked things of her. She adored Anvar- he was so kind and lighthearted.
She glanced at Vale. "We'll pass by the house, so it would probably be best to leave Vale home. Wouldn't want you getting hurt." Rose gave the little pup a playful smile. In some aspects, Rose was just as childish and playful as the little pup.

"But before we do that tell me who did that to you." She flinched when he brought up the bruises across her neck. He gripped her chin softly, thankfully not causing her any pain. As he inspected her neck, faint anger flashed across her green and violet eyes. "I woke up sleeping beauty. The mutt threw me into a wall, strangled me, and nearly stabbed me with a pair of scissors. Why do you keep him around?" she growled, then glanced at him somewhat sheepishly. "Sorry. I got a little carried away."

"Don't worry about the bruises though, they haven't stopped you from being so god damn pretty." Rose rolled her eyes and smiled as a faint blush crept across her cheeks. "Anvar Woad, you are a terrible flirt." she laughed lightly.

Astrid was watching the cats gather behind her and she nodded before taking a deep breath and pulling on her human side, willing it to take control and soon an audible pop was heard. She unfurled from where she crouched and stood, dauntless and confident. “Now then.” She moved forward in long strides, her tall human figure pale in the light of dawn. It was beginning to get higher up and the time had to have been around eight in the morning. Her silver hair glistened as it lifted every now and then as she moved to keep in front of her squad.

She abruptly stopped as a red figure streaked out of the brush and towards whatever settlement in the distance. James spoke up behind her and her human mind struggled for only seconds to understand. “Oh so not good” Astrid bristled as her upper lip curled in response. “Well said.” Her gaze narrowed on the moving figure before it disappeared in the expanse of land in front of them. Her hands clenched, knuckles turning white as Dante spoke up from the back of the squad.

“This might not mean anything.” Astrid glanced at him and shook her head. “Dante, we all know this means a lot. Stealth is not on our side.” Astrid was glad that he had optimism but right now was not the time and cheer everybody up. They were in danger. She tilted her head and Dante shifted on his paws uneasily. “It couldn’t have been a wolf though.” Astrid murmured and reigned in her cat as it strained to get to the surface for a few brief seconds. “That must be why I didn’t think about it.” She opened her mouth slightly, tasting the air. “However, I should have known.” She started forward again more slowly. Dante stirred, his hackles still raised. “It’s okay, not your fault.” Dante pinned his ears and snorted. “That just means a face-off and there is nothing to worry about. Not with us.”

Astrid kept the pace slow but eventually another red streak, this one of a larger size, was head towards them. She raised a hand and tensed. “Wolves.” Astrid was very still and quiet, prepared to fight for her squad. Dante pitched in though as he noticed something peculiar. “Is there just one?” Dante blinked confused and Astrid hissed.

Rose turned on her heel and gestured for Anvar and Vale to follow. "Theyre close by. shouldnt take long to get there- hopefully nobody else has already gotten to them." With that, Rose ld them back to the house first, and turned to Vale and Anvar. " It would probably be best if you stayed here, Vale." She paused, glancing up at Anvar for his aproval. "Im sure you woun't cause too much damage, right? I belive one of the wolves is still sleeping upstairs. if anything happens, wake him up. And no lighting the house on fire or anything- im sure Anvar agrees that would be bad." she shot the pup a playful smile and wimked at her.

Rose turned again, holding onto Anvar's elbow and quickly leading him back to the spot where she had seen the cats. As they neared the spot, Rose tensed. Brandin, Renmy, and one of the betas had already been here. She let go of Anvar, knowing he would still follow - if he hadent picked up the scent already. She ran towards the scene.

When she came apon the clearing to see Brandin going after one of the cats who she was sure hadent done anything to provoke him, she snarled. Rose was aware she was in no position to take control, but she wasnt a submissive creature by nature. "Back off. Or face the consequences that you will wish you had chosen my first option. " tha cat that Brandin had attacked growled at them, and Rose quickly tried to defuse the situation. If this broke into a fight and she tried to help, she would only hurt the pack. "None of us want a fight. Exept for maybe the one that attacked you. He's just a bloodthirsty maniac." Se offered a smiled and pointed to the bruises on her neck. "But im sure you understand our alarm. You not only intruded on our territory, but you where hunting aswell."

James had changed into his human form but when Brandin attacked Astrid he changed into his animal form. Astrid was able to push the wolf back but his teeth were bared as he stayed close to Astrid on her right side as he watched Brandin ready to rip the beasts throat out. All he could think about was if he tried to touch he again he'd rip that mutt to shreads.

His gaze moved to Rose as she spoke and his claws retracted, he looked at Astrid. "Are you alright?" he said looking at Astrid for a moment as he stayed right beside her his head snapped Back to Brandin, "Touch her again I'll rip you to shreds mutt."

Vale Alvers

"Don't worry about the bruises though, they haven't stopped you from being so god damn pretty." Vale's face visibly paled and she quickly assumed that of a horrible poker face, pointing her index finger out uncertainly, but it quickly bent and she made a 'bleck' face at the whole situation. "H-hey, pg-13 here! Vale's still here!!!" She whined, flailing her arms about and trying to regather the adult's attention.

However, it wasn't any use, and she was pretty much ignored as they both got caught up in official matters, outside, Vale's face remained a bit pouty, but on the inside she was absolutely desolate and twitching in a confused manner. She was actually being utterly ignored, like she didn't even exist. She wouldn't even get to learn how to learn to use Anvar's gun. And again, she was merely dragged along back to the pack house.

"It would probably be best if you stayed here, Vale." Vale smiled cheerfully up at the fox, and nodded. "Yeah, okay!" 'You wouldn't want some stupid pup getting in under your feet, right?' Again, she was completely crushed inside about how suddenly everyone's moods changed, she just didn't understand, and that was just what she was thinking, of course she didn't say that out loud; Vale occasionally... gets random bouts of depression, though they hardly lasted more than forty-five minutes at best.

"And no lighting the house on fire or anything."

She had been distracted, but she suddenly looked up, her face actually quite blank in that confused sort of anime way. "Wat?" But the two adults had already sped off without so much as another word to her other than a feeble goodbye as they disappeared into the trees. The small child just stood there for a few minutes after, still staring after where they'd disappeared. One might almost say it was her being dumbstruck, but Vale wasn't like that.

She shook her head, and blinked a few times, turning around and twitching her right ear (as she was unable to wiggle her left in human form), she smiled to herself cheerfully, and hopped down the lawn and into the trees, in the opposite direction of the adults herself, humming as she went.

Renmy Soril

Renmy had remained utterly silent, so as she sensed, through Brandin's subtle body language and scents, that they had come to where the cats were, she took a soft detour to the left, reverting to her human form and placing an index finger gently to the side in the bandages wrapped around her upper back and chest, pulling even softer on them, loosening a couple of the bands. She had a double layer of bandages on of course, though. Obviously you couldn't do long-range anything in wolf form.

Without a word, she scaled the tree she had come to a stop at, carefully placing her hands into the knots and knolls of the old bark, hoisting herself further and further up until she paused and shifted to the right, placing her feet carefully onto her chosen branch and skirting along to a comfortable position where it would be a clear shot into the clearing.

Well, if anything, it certainly helped her scent that she had been pretty much drenched that morning, and only dried off so well.

She allowed her eyes to flicker shut, and she focused on her more trained sense of scent and hearing. While she focused on what was happening down in the clearing, her fingers made swift work of some spots on her outer bandages, slipping almost paper-thin knives out until she had a total of four carefully positioned in her lap, one hand at the ready while the other supported her on the branch.

She really only kept so few knives on her, she really had no idea that this would come up, had she known, she would have been better prepared. But she had four shots, used for distraction and chaotic confusion should there be a need for it. Brandin was hardly in much trouble... yet.... If she really felt he had been in any real danger, those deadly knives of hers would already be embedded before the feet of the enemy as a warning. They couldn't scent her... they couldn't see her... they wouldn't know how many others might be up in the trees, even if it was truly only just her. Annnd... there we go. She sucked in her lower lip in absolute comical disbelief that it'd escalate so fast. Without a word, she slid her thumb along the hilt of one knife, smoothly picking it up and positioning it between thumb and index, as well slightly her middle.

The gamma then flicked her wrist, allowing the small projectile to slice straight through the air and bury itself centimeters from Dante's northern most toe. Without missing a beat, remaining knives already in her fingers, she slid soundlessly from one branch to another until she settled onto a very new branch in a new tree (they grew in nice proportion in regards to distance from each other) crouching low and seeing if she made a mark. Her face visibly paled and she could have sworn small sweat trickled down her face in accords to her mind which was now in panic mode and a somewhat apologetic, spluttering over her silent words kind of state. Oh my GOD I did not mean to hit that close to him, ah my gosh, what if I had severed a toe or something, that wouldn't be good at all, you need your toes!!! YouNeedThem!!! Without a fraction of sound she flailed her arms in horror, despite that they were obviously in the wrong.

But with her new position she could hear their voices, though somewhat muffled, well enough to make out most of the snappy shots at each other. The voices were so strange to her.... But at least whoever was charging Brandin probably got the message not to go too close to him. "Touch her again and I'll rip you to shreds mutt." She narrowed her eyes and set her mouth in a straight line, an obvious expression of: 'Seriously, you're really going to approach him?' For a moment Renmy considered flinging the same warning in his face, but decided she'd have gotten her point across. Plus if they tried to pick up her knives, she mightn't be so nice with where she made the next one land. She liked her pretty sleek grey knives, and didn't like other people picking them up.

But it was Rose's that stood out the most clearly. Her face turned into disdain at what she ended up saying. Really? Is she... trying to appease them? We have every right to kill them. They trespassed on our territory. Now, of course that's not that big of a deal, but when you go hunting on our land with such abandon and no regards for the consequences, obviously you're asking for a beating. And- hey, what? He isn't that bloodthirsty. Her confusion and slight exasperation only grew, and she put her chin in the palm of one hand, thinking over the situation and making silent comments to herself. Alarm? Like I said, it isn't their bloody right! We can take them on easily... how many of them are there? Not too many, I know that, but....

The red-headed gamma paused, scenting the air and trying to separate all the different scents from each other. It wasn't hard to do the pack's, but the strangers... they all had a unique scent but they had their similarities. She grunted silently, They're in the wrong, blasted... well, she wouldn't understand, she's just a fox.... No, Renmy. She's part of the pack, albeit a pain in the butt and not too productive at times, but a pack member nonetheless! Renmy remained utterly silent, allowing things to continue without any... added... chaos to the mix on her part. But obviously everyone would be able to handle themselves now that they outnumbered the cats and had them on a bit of a... roundabout shall we say. Renmy really didn't need to intervene much more on anyone's behalf, though she would in a heartbeat had the situation been any different.

Astrid Vellamo & Dante Selantine

Astrid snapped her gaze to the next kin that ran up, and she realized that the other red streak must have been this one. She narrowed her eyes feeling her feline swirling within the amber irises. "None of us want a fight. Except for maybe the one that attacked you. He's just a bloodthirsty maniac." Astrid checked her throat as she waved towards it and nodded but still wondered exactly what place she had in the pack. "But I’m sure you understand our alarm. You not only intruded on our territory, but you where hunting as well."

Astrid snorted with disdain and let her attention fall on her pride around her. She felt James on her right side and Larissa seemed safe enough. Ophis also seemed to be doing well. A leader was only as good as their people. She took in the rest of the scene, the cats being riled around her human form with the two wolves on the other side, while the fox had arrived a minute before. Astrid sighed briskly and turned to James, not changing her stance but craning her head towards him so that she could look him in the eye. “I’m completely fine.” Her voice was edged with a slight hint of mocking anger towards the wolf but she eased her tone and murmured, “Nothing to worry about.” Now she turned to Dante who had taken a step back and was testing the air with a low growl. She adjusted; just barely brushing his hind leg and he glanced at her, communication going between them.

Dante indicated at the blade in front of him as he moved back for Astrid to see. Astrid nodded and sent her gaze over the field before huffing and leaving the silent communication at that. She directed her gaze back to the fox kin and after a few seconds spoke up. “I do understand. Yet we only mean to pass through.” She paused meaningfully then decided on a tactful approach. “We have been traveling for days without food or water and did not know if your pack still occupied this area. We hunted just outside your borders. So, surely, your prey was not lessened.” Astrid thought back to their plans and what her sister had mentioned. She glanced back at her sister and smiled. “I also wish to speak with your alpha now that we know you’re here. It would benefit us both.”

Dante growled again but subsided as he noticed the cattish smile on Astrid's face. The knife had been centimeters from his paw and he couldn’t find a scent but he was sure they were close. He pinned his ears flat and glared at the wolf kin in front of them. The fox kin had proposed peace. Would they follow? Dante somehow doubted that and now he was getting an even stronger scent that didn’t bode well. It smelled like an Alpha. He stiffened and brushed right up against Astrid, keeping close and closing in the space that could provide vulnerabilities. James on the other side seemed to have it handled. He leaned down and pressed his nose into her shoulder with a deep rumble that was close to a growl. ‘Danger on the way’ Astrid didn’t show any indication that she had understood him but he was sure that she had been paying attention. He then furthered his intent with a small hiss at James and flicked his ears towards the general direction of the scent, past the fox.

Astrid didn’t move as Dante closed the distance between them, overshadowing her like a big kitten. His cold nose pressed to her shoulder and she snapped a quick glance towards the fox, sniffing quietly. The scent came to her but she remained silent, refraining from the snarl that rose in her throat. She had no problem being respectful; she just didn’t like other dominants around her sometimes. At least, not when she was angry. Astrid rose from her crouch, deciding upon looking more civil to represent her pack.

Larissa Vellamo

Larissa barely had time to react after she saw the girl with red hair spot them, and run. She stood, her coat bristled, as a low growl escaped her. Just as quickly as the girl had come, a wolf came and launched itself right at her sister. She snarled and lept forward, but stopped short when the wolf was knocked off of her.

"Don't! Astrid screamed at her and the others, and Larissa flattened her ears against her head but held her ground. She padded over to Astrid, sitting down next to her protectively and narrowing her bright blue eyes at the wolves. She didn't want to fight with them, but if they went after her sister while she was in her human form? Unacceptable. Lari didn't make any aggressive moves as the same girl with red hair approuched them.

"None of us want a fight. Exept for maybe the one who attacked you. But he's must a bloodthirsty maniac. But I'm sure you can understand our alarm. Not only did you intrude on our territory, but you were hunting aswell." Larissa relaxed a little as the tension was eased a bit by the fox. Maybe this wouldn't turn into a full-on attack. "I do understand. Yet we meant only to pass through. We have been traveling for days without food or water and did not know if your pack still occupied this area. We hunted just outside your borders. So, surely, your prey was not lessened."
As she glanced at her sister, she realized their leader was the only one in human form, making her a clear target. She was aware she wasn't the leitenent, and she wasn't trying to challenge James for his position but was reluctant to leave Astrid as the only easy target.

"I woke up sleeping beauty. The mutt threw me into a wall, strangled me, and nearly stabbed me with a pair of scissors. Why do you keep him around?" she growled, then glanced at him somewhat sheepishly. "Sorry. I got a little carried away." Of course it had to be Brandon who else could have possibly done it, he's a psycopath, the Alpha merely shook his head at her apology. "Don't be sorry, he's on his first strike." His voice and face was that as stone but soon changed as the little werefox spoke up. "Anvar Woad, you are a terrible flirt." His signature wolfish grin appeared on his face as he gave her a wink. "Hey someone in this pack has to be." And with that note Rose turned on her heel and gestured for Anvar and Vale to follow. "Theyre close by. shouldnt take long to get there- hopefully nobody else has already gotten to them." His smile faded into a smirk at this rather naive statement. "Let's not kid ourselve lass, with our luck the pyscho has already ripped one in half." With that, Rose led them back to the house first, and turned to Vale and Anvar. " It would probably be best if you stayed here, Vale." She paused, glancing up at Anvar for his aproval, to which he gave rather reluctantly and after a few spoken words they left Vale at the house to face these intruders.

Rose led the way again holding onto his elbow and quickly leading him back to the spot where she had seen the cats. She broke contact and ran off into the distance but the alpha had already picked up the scent of not just the cats but members of his pack as well, swapping his speed from a jog to a casual walk he wasn't in a big rush, Cyra's scent was strong and he trusted her to keep things under control. He heard voices and both groups came into sight, he over heard the commotion that Brandin (it must have been him) caused, the smell of another dominant causig his spine to tingle violently. He heard the fox make a peace attempt bringing a warm sense of pride towards her, Atta girl, I wish you were the first to make contact, he thought with a sigh most of the members would show hostility towards intruders no matter the situation yet they all failed to remember that they too had been intruders once when Anvar had found them. “I also wish to speak with your alpha now that we know you’re here. It would benefit us both.” The female who reaked of dominance demanded.

Walking past the still snarling Brandin, the alpha pressed the muzzle of his gun against the base of skull and whispered. "Stand down or I will put you down and use that mangy red coat of yours as a door matt." He didn't attempt to hide his anger and hatred towards the gamma, he let their venom fill each word, showing the red wolf he was in charge and that he meant every word he said. He took the gun away from his head as he walked up to the feline, making Retrobution known to the cats more as a safety blankett than an actual threat, he hoped he wouldn't have to use it, when he was about a foot away from her he stopped and held his hand out to which the woman took and shook. "I'm the alpha of this pack and I apologise for the hostility of my gammas." His tone taking a formal tone, quickly giving the golden eye wolf one last glare before giving his full attention to the leader. "And think nothing of tresspassing and hunting, most of these wolves forget they had once been in similar dispositions you lot are in."

He broke the shake and gave her that wolfish smile of his. "You say you were just passing through? Well you seem to be heading towards the human settlement in that direction the way you want is that way." He pointed in the same direction as the ranch. "That way leads you towards more wilderness but also our home, if you are still hungry and tired I would like to administer an informal invitation to stay for the night to rest and fuel up before you set off again." He looked at the rest of the cats and knew by instinct most of their bodies were running on happy thoughts, his eyes returned on the naked body infront of him, scanning her from toe to head, resting on her eyes . "So what do you say beautiful wanna come sleep in the big bad wolve's house?" He asked, his care free attitude once again showing as his smile widened.

Ulrica followed quickly, and her eyes narrowed towards the felines in suspicion. 'What are they doing in these parts...' She wonders, before noticing the alpha. She came close, and noticed the others as well. 'I guess most of the pack is here... good thing too...' Her ears drooped a bit, she hadn't been able to help... but next time she will. She was sure of it.
Listening to the conversation's around her, she felt her ears flicker at Anvar's words. She sighs a bit. 'Same ol'.... flirt...'
Ulrica always wondered how he became alpha, but she found out a long time ago. She saw his strong spirit and his leadership when hard times blew in. The pack would probably be in shambles if they didn't have him... and if he wasnt her now, a war probably would have started. She smiles a bit, but quickly noticed and droped it. She stepped closer, right behind the alpha and near the beta, watching the feline's movements and expressions with sharp eyes. the felines didnt seem to mean any trouble, but still... Why were they here. There must be a reason. But of course, Anvar began to offer their home to the felines. Was this a good idea..? She asked herself, but dropped it quickly.
-
Ophis lurched forward, beside Astrid and began to check for any wounds... Nothing. She sighed with relief, and smiled a bit. How can she doubt her leaders strength... strong, fast, smart...but still. Ophis turned to look at the wolves.
She felt her throat rumble with anger, but she remained inaudible. Her leader didn't want to start a fight...so she will beckon to her wishes. Stepping closer To Astrid, she checked her leader's little sister and the rest. Everyone seemed ready... and if something were to happen, it should be alright. Though even with the reassurance, she still felt her claws threatening to come out... and felt her legs pulse, with the need to lurch forward at that red head wolf. 'The damn brat...' She stared at Brandin, before scanning the others, 2 female betas...gammas, and finally the alpha. 'Not bad...' She compliment mentally. The alpha appeared to be strong both inside and out, and seemed to have a good leadership. 'But a total flirt...' She took a step forward, eying the alpha and everyone around them. Ophis had to be careful, even if they were on somehow "okay" terms, anything can happen. 'Remain calm Ophis...' she told herself, her eyes going to normal, expression turning neutral and her body relaxing. "So what do you say beautiful wanna come sleep in the big bad wolve's house?" She rolled her eyes, before peering at Astrid briefly.

[sorry for the absence!]

"Oh. so the feline leader can talk."

It was the only thought that entered Brandin's mind. She is greatly mistaken if that tone, warnings, threats, authority, and promises can cause shivers in him. Actually, it has the opposite effect. This makes it more worthwhile. Licking his wolf lips with maligned intentions, his eyes seemed to spark even more with childish joy. He knew that this was going to be fun and the reactions from her pride members were exquisite. It was as he had expected. As to ensure, he was not alone. He noticed a glint coming from behind stopping one of the werecats from advancing. He knew that it was Renmy. The adrenaline and the need to see blood flowing and staining this land was becoming an insatiable thirst for him. Glancing at one of the male werecats who threatened him of being ripped apart, he gazed with such eerie calmness. But there was nothing innocent about it. In fact, it was glowing with bloody insanity. He was challenging the male to come after him and make his words true. The saying the weakest dog barks the loudest, it must also apply to the cats as the man did not do on his threat and stayed beside the female leader. For that, he sneered and raised his right paw and made a gesture as if saying, "Come on."

However, it would seemed that Brandin's fun would be cut short. This only soured his mood even further. The winds had carried the scent of the alpha and the annoying scent of the fox. His irritation could be clearly seen as a snarl was again present in his face. It even become wider when the fox dared to come in his way again. If he remembered correctly, he warned the midget fox to never cross him. He was also clear to use a language understandable for the pea-brained fox to understand. This only proves that the fox was a lost cause. Soon, the alpha arrived pointing his gun at Brandin's head. It was not hard to tell that Anvar was angry. Heck, he was the only one who has can do that without much effort. Instead of showing fear towards the leader, he raised his head arrogantly and pushed his head to the barrel of the gun. Indicating for Anvar to do it, Brandin did not show any fear towards him or even an ounce of submission. Honestly, he never did once do that.

As expected, Anvar removed his attention from Brandin and proceeded to flirt with the werecat leader as far as offering lodging at their place. This action disgusts him to a certain degree. The eyes of the alpha should be checked thoroughly. His eyesight might be going bad. No, it was probably bad or the man was going senile. There is also that it was both. Although, he would admit the fox was right on one thing. He was bloodthirsty, but as a maniac. It was about to begin right now. Without warning, he lunged as Rose and bite her right shoulder ferociously. It happened without any warning and for anyone to react to it. His fangs buried deep into her shoulder as blood gushed out.

Tasting the blood of the she-fox, Brandin's eyes glowed even more dangerously. He was going to tear her apart. But an idea entered his mind, the alpha was the only one exempted from talking back to him. Honestly, Anvar was the only one who can insult him and would not suffer Brandin's wrath on most occasions. This is why the pack can have confidence that the alpha could handle him when it comes to worst. However, they forgot one important thing. He was giving Anvar that special privilege and this fox was not included in that. Lifting the fox was not that difficult even more so in his wolf-form, he threw Rose towards Anvar making sure the fox's body collided with the alpha's. After that attack, the blood from his attack dripped from his lips and fangs. His eyes shined with glee from his actions. It was quite a sight as the blood fell on the ground like rain. When it comes to power in the pack, he was not second to anyone. They all knew that. One would even ask why he does not take the position of alpha. He could challenge Anvar for that without problem.

Brandin did remember that someone asked him that question. His answer was "It's too troublesome. I hate babysitting." That is why Anvar knew that whatever actions Brandin did. The gamma wolf would not challenge Anvar's right to authority but at the same time Brandin made sure to remind the alpha, he was not the submissive kind. Licking his lips again, he would allow the fox to live for now. This is the last warning for that idiotic fox. The next time even Anvar cannot protect her from him. No one can. He would no hesitate to tear down the pack to pieces if they pushed him too much. It would appeared that the werecats were not the biggest problem that the wolves have apparently. Turning his back to all of them, Brandin knew that Anvar would be busy with his flirting which included the werecat leader and the fox. He began to walk away but not before looking over his shoulders at Anvar. "Don't forget who you're dealing with." There were no words that came out but those eyes of his seemed to interpret as such. It was good to remind Anvar the reason why Brandin was in the pack once in awhile.

After that, Brandin walked away from the group and even walked passed Renmy without saying a word. But a grey object dropped in front of her. It was one of the knives she threw earlier. Soon enough, he was out of everyone's sight. He would not be coming back to the pack house any moment soon. The stress to kill was still coursing through his systems. In which, he would slaughter some animals he could find. It was better than nothing. Although, it also helps that he was feeling quite famished at the moment.

"Warm-up is done. Time for some breakfast."

Astrid Vellamo & Dante Selantine

Astrid watched the male approach, squaring her shoulders unconsciously. His stench reeked of dominance and it was like a challenge calling her senses. She wondered briefly how the alpha males of the wolf species would have felt upon seeing another dominant. They were the same species but she could resist it since they were felines. The flash of a muzzle caused her to grimace. She wasn’t a strong advocate of the gun and even then blades were rare. If it came down to kin versus kin, she thought it was fair to use true strength and skill. "I'm the alpha of this pack and I apologize for the hostility of my gammas." [i] Astrid nodded, acknowledging his word politely.[i] "And think nothing of trespassing and hunting, most of these wolves forget they had once been in similar dispositions you lot are in."[i] She cast her glance over the other wolves curiously wondering how they ever would have been in the same position but dismissed it.

[i]"You say you were just passing through?”
Astrid didn’t respond, hoping the conversation was heading the way she needed it too. “Well you seem to be heading towards the human settlement in that direction the way you want is that way." Astrid followed his hand, then huffed to show her attention. "That way leads you towards more wilderness but also our home, if you are still hungry and tired I would like to administer an informal invitation to stay for the night to rest and fuel up before you set off again." Astrid let her expression relax into appreciation, and lowered her hackles visibly albeit her amusement as she felt his gaze travel over her body. "So what do you say beautiful want to come sleep in the big bad wolve's house?" Astrid responded to the smile by chuckling. “I think we would be most appreciative to accept your humble invitation.” However, the next few seconds didn’t go over well.

Astrid looked to the red wolf in alarm when he moved closer to the gun, and openly challenged the Alpha. Her lips curled up, thinning to show her blunt human fangs. The gesture could be understood though. Even if she wasn’t a part of their pack or related in any way, that wolf was out of line.

She took a step back, bending her knees and preparing for the hit as the wolf leapt but his trajectory wasn't aiming at her, but at the fox kin who had been very cordial to them. Astrid froze, watching the ensuing horror as the wolf’s fangs sank into human skin and blood welled from the new wound. The bloodlust displayed made her insides harden and her throat feel swollen because she couldn’t seem to swallow correctly.

Dante had eased, watching the newly peaceful atmosphere arrive on a wave of relief. At least, until the red wolf decided he hadn’t had enough. The wolf seemed to leap for the closest person saving the Alpha and the fox kin paid for it. Dante surged forward only to freeze as he saw the bloodlust. It wasn’t good to mess with a wolf in bloodlust. Only the Alpha could dispatch a wolf like that because it was their job to tame and keep the wolves civilized; to keep them from getting violent or becoming rogue. If they weren’t kept in line by the Alpha, it became a bounty hunters job to kill the rogue or dispatch the trouble because after that point it also became a problem for the human world too. It was the same for felines and that’s probably why Astrid hadn’t jumped to help.

Astrid watched the fox kin fly towards the Alpha as the wolf turned and stalked away. Her eyes narrowed but she relaxed with a sharp grumble. Her gaze then fell on the Alpha and she tilted her head in question but didn’t comment on what he was going to do, nor did she offer help. Offering help would have meant that she thought they were incapable of handling it.

James eye's went a little wide as the red wolf attacked the fox, moving forward a step he stopped and moved back on Astrid's right. He moved a little closer to her leg not just his white fur and black spots touching her skin he was more or less pressing himself against her leg. He didn't like that wolf he just stared as Brandin walked away, he already knew he'd have to keep a watch over the others he knew they could all take care of themselves.

He then noticed what he was doing and moved away from Astrid a tad, he sat on his back legs with his ears up straight as he now watched the wolves carefully and keep that mental note to ask Anvar about women, one there confusing, two... well there women, or maybe he should ask a girl about girl things. His mind then started drifting for a moment as he licked his lips still very very thirsty before snapping back to where he was.

Vale Alvers

Birds chirped to and fro from branches high up in the trees while sunlight streamed through leaves and branches until it filtered downwards onto the grass, dirt, and leaf litter of the forest. Vale hummed lightly to herself with a small smile, her hands stuffed in the pockets of her skirt and fingering the small fraying string in the left one.

There was an occasional rustling among the bushes every so often, but she mostly ignored it. It wouldn't be anything too exciting, just prey. The pack had pretty distinct boundaries, and they never ran into any big predators. The pup paused, putting her hands on her hips, and then inhaled a deep breath through her nostrils, her lips somewhat parted to help for scenting and breathing. With another pause, she blinked, gave herself a reassuring nod, and then turned to the north-east down a small path that was overgrown with grass and small weeds. She continued her humming, though gave half of her attention to the chattering of the birds around her.

I wonder how big the territory actually is. The small girl blinked, gazing up at the treetops and allowing her eyes to trail along as she kept up her casual pace. "Dute de dute de duu...." What's everyone doing that's so important anyhow? A yawn suddenly came over her, and she paused once again in order to rub an eye before continuing on her path.

Renmy Soril

The red-headed gamma's ear twitched, and her eyes narrowed as she listened intently to the conversation below and to the north of her. It was obvious that the pride's leader had some flaws to her excuse and apology, especially considering that they did mark their territory on a regular basis, and it wouldn't have been too hard to cross the river and attempt to scope it out. And then she simply backtracked and said that they hunted outside of the borders, meaning they must have realized that there were borders in the first place, thus making the previous excuse completely void and meaningless. But hey, these were cats they were talking about. So it wasn't much of a surprise, not to mention they might just be flustered from Brandin's show.

With a small blink, she leaned forward just a bit, her eyes darting across the clearing. Speaking of which, what is he occupying himself- However, Renmy didn't get to finish her line of thought as the alpha's scent quickly struck her nostrils, her eyes immediately darting to its strongest point. What she didn't expect was him to be holding his precious gun to one of his own member's heads. Without thinking, one of her three remaining knives was up in her fingers and poised to strike. Though sense froze her hand from moving.

Not only would it be showing insubordination, but it would probably take a chip at Brandin's ego. He really didn't need her to intervene on that, and she'd only get in some massive trouble. But she expected Anvar to take into consideration what it would flaunt to the cats. If the pride knew that those two had a shaky relationship, to say the least..., it would present a question of Anvar's hold over the rest of the pack and his abilities at leadership, not to mention that there was obvious turbulence within the pack itself. If a pack wasn't together, then they were nothing. And numbers were their strength, and such a display meant they were weak. But maybe I'm just thinking into this too much. It's not like it's that serious anyway. Just don't want them getting the wrong idea and trying to harm one of us.

The fem quickly shook her head, refocusing on the voices below as Anvar apologized for the pack's rightful behavior. "And think nothing of trespassing and hunting, most of these wolves forget they had once been in similar dispositions you lot are in." That wasn't supposed to sting the way it did, but nonetheless it was there. Renmy stared blankly down at the alpha, her features revealing nothing.

So now we're nothing more than strangers to you? No better than the cats? We're trying to do what we've always known and always done. The pack comes first; Always. So you're trying to tell us 'oh, it's no big deal, it doesn't matter. Heck, seriously, why are you guys even trying, y'know? Let's just let everyone and anything come into the territory.' I thought you held us in better standings. Really, Anvar, if you wanted things done like that, you should have just told us to do so. Her head was tilted down now, her bangs casting a shadow across her facial features. She clenched her left hand, her fingernails digging into the bark viciously but quietly. It'd hardly be noticeable as an abnormal noise.

Then he invited them to live among them for a small while. Her face visibly paled, and her body tensed. Bloody brilliant idea. It doesn't matter though, he is the alpha. J-just so long as they stay away from me.... She sighed, running her thumb lightly along her shin to calm herself down. She blinked, rubbing her forehead mellowly. This was just a horrible day altogether. It was enough to have to be aware of the pack members she already had, but to have to constantly watch her back among the cats and to try to keep her injury rate the same with all the new challenges posed by them staying with the pack was a lot of work and stress.

It was amazing how generous Anvar could be sometimes. And how thoughtless he could be of the pack's safety. But that was Anvar, and she really wasn't complaining. She was pretty solitary anyway, and always so unsure of herself. She couldn't really ask for anyone else, she'd known his ways so long, and she couldn't really live on her own.

Red fur suddenly caught in her range of vision, and her eyes immediately jumped to the source. A solemn expression rapidly filled her expression as she saw him moving towards the alpha, and was thrown off a bit when he completely skirted to the side and towards the fox. And then it hit her what he had planned. Obviously she couldn't really jump in and intervene, she didn't fight that way and it wouldn't be of any help regardless. She had no idea what to do, the fox was part of their pack too, and she really did value every member, but Brandin was also really frightening, and she'd rather not get any further on his bad side. This was why she usually presumed a neutral position in most matters, and stayed towards the back.

Anvar would probably do something about it, he'd take care of it. Most likely.... But he wouldn't even have to step in, but rather, stand up, as the poor fox's form was flung straight into him, blood splattering the grass and terra. Renmy winced, but quickly resumed her full scale vision on the scene. She growled softly, her gaze locking onto the large white tiger sprinting towards the two, her right hand clenching another knife in aggravation that he'd dare try to hurt either one. It wasn't his place, and she'd already warned him, and had set to be less stingy on her ranging if any of the cats decided to repeat the mistake.

Without allowing another second to be taken leisurely, another knife was sailing through the air, easily catching the rays of the sun and bouncing them back off, causing a nice couple of eye attracting glints. The weapon embedded itself into the earth a small ways in front of the tiger. Through her actions it was apparent that she didn't intend on hitting him, as it was impossible not to do so while he was in such motion unless to miss and then defeat the whole purpose of impeding his motion anyway. Though Renmy hardly needed to intervene, as he stopped on his own out of recognition to Brandin's current state.

She remained silent as Brandin turned from every person in the area, excluding herself as she was below him, and her eyes trailed after his form. Two small objects were dropped near her tree, and the second she saw them she recognized them both as her knives. It was a relief really, she hardly wanted to reveal herself to retrieve the two weapons, and she also didn't want them being picked up and used against anyone from her pack. Though she remained where she was, it was foolish to climb down when all their attention was probably focused on the direction he had just gone. Though only a few would probably linger with that thought before turning their attention to the wounded fox and alphas.

The red-headed gamma let out a sigh, picking up the two knives remaining on her lap and re-securing them into their places between bandages. This was obviously over, and whether or not anyone agreed with what the alpha had decided, it was pretty much final. The felines would be staying with them. She made sure that everything was tight and secure before slowly working her way downwards, trying not to make too much motion within the tree, and kept to the leafiest portions in order to keep her presence mostly hidden. Either they'd assume someone was hiding in this tree, or just think that Brandin had left the knives there so they'd be away from everyone else for the person they belonged to for collection later.

Renmy paused momentarily, both hands on the branch for support as a sudden realization dawned on her.

If everyone's here.... Where's Vale?

The alpha recieved a chuckle off the female causing him to relax his armed hand hanging loosely by his sides as he took in the sound of her laughter. "The name's Anvar by the way what's your's..." Before he got an answer he felt something collide into his back knocking him to the floor, winding him as he fell to his hands and knees. He didn't even bother too look behind him, he knew who it was that threw the object and as soon as that thought came into his mind causing a cold rage spreading through out his body and before he knew what he was doing his arm had swung around to where the red mongrel had been standing and fired all of the rounds in a matter of seconds. His picked up the sound of bullets hitting dirt which made him turn his head and to his actual horror he saw what hit him, a wounded Rose, her right shoulder a bloody mess... he turned his attention to Brandin although he didn't say a word his eyes said it all, Don't forget who you're dealing with, shaking uncontrollably with a white hot rage burning inside of him ignoring his need to breath he hauled himself up, emptying his gun of the empty cartriages and loading it, not caring whether the rounds were the same or not he only cared for one thing. Killing the bastard.

The gamma was walking away and had placed something down next to a tree but the alpha simply ignored this fact his sole intention was him. "Brandin turn around!" He yelled out to him, fury ringing as loud as bell at a funeral, to which the gamma obliged that cocky spark in his eyes still present. Hand still trembling with rage pointed the magnum at the red haired wolf, the sights going on and off the target while his face was as hard and cold as marble. He pulled the trigger thrice, the recoil of the gun throwing his already unstable arm all over the place, the first two groups of shots were way off target hitting various places around Brandin but the last couple were at least somewhat on target, one bullet, glinting that of his custom silver rounds while the other was just a plain one. The custom round took a small chunk out his left ear with the plain bullet grazing his left cheek. A disgusted sneer spread across Anvar's face at the sight of the minor injuries he had inflicted but he didn't get another chance as the gamma had simply turned around and left.

His bloodlust faded as it quickly as it came and he soon ran to the aid of the wounded fox, he knelt beside the wounded girl everyone else was blocked out, a wounded pack member came before any other matter. Without saying anything to Rose he was checking the bite, prodding it to see how deep, wide, if Brandin had merely pierced the sking or had he tore/ripped it and whether the dog had pierced any organs or large blood vessels. He heard a moan of pain escape her lips and his face scrunched up into an apologetic face. "I'm sorry Rose I know it hurts but it's not as bad as it seems, simple multiple puncture wounds, nothing else to complicate things." He gripped her hand and pressed it down on the wound causing her to grimace. "Keep the pressure on it, we're going to head back to the ranch now and I know you hate it when I moddle coddle you but I do it to everyone when they're hurt don't forget." He then proceded to place his right arm under her knees and then placed the other around her back with his hand gripping her good shoulder. "You've just been upgraded to first class on the Anvar express." He chuckled at loud the incident still fresh in his mind but surpressed.

He turned to the felines again, smile fading a bit but still remained on his lips. "Before we set off to the ranch I'll have to ask that you all revert to your human forms please and we shall as well, just a precaution." He signalled all the wolves he could see to do as he had said. "Also I will have to ask for you to lead, as I have said the ranch is in that direction, again another precaution." His voice was calm and relaxed, the way it should always be in his eyes. Everyone seemed to comply with this as soon he was surrounded by humans of different sizes, all rather naked of course but this didn't faze him a bit, they were naked as animals what did it matter if they were naked as an ape? As the felines began to move out he gave a serious glance at his betas, he didn't want to say out loud since it should be clear that they had to do something about Brandin. As they were heading off, Anvar saw what the gamma had place and it was two knives, Renmy's in fact. He glanced around at first and then finally into the tree and he thought he saw a foot dangling but when he had a closer look he couldn't see the foot or the owner, he shook his head at this thinking the gamma would have made herself known to him maybe by falling out of the tree or something. He glanced back to the girl in his arms, she looked a little pale but didn't seemed too fazed. "Hey Rose not a good day for you is it?" He joked with a hint of seriousness in it.

Cyra gave a start, her growl cutting off abruptly as Brandin leaped on the werecat leader. The woman called out, "Don't!" but Cyra was uncertain whether she was speaking to Brandin, or her troops, all of whom seemed tensed to fight. Cyra did not blame them, what Brandin did was unexpected if you didn't know him before. Still, Brandin seemed too eager for blood sometimes and Cyra always felt unsure around him. At times, he acted like a rabid wolf, and that intimidated Cyra no matter how much she would deny it. After a moment, Brandin sprung back and the werecat scrambled back to her feet.

However, at the female's next words, Cyra's ears flattened and her lip curled in a soundless snarl. This cat, whether she was leader of her pack or not, had no right to command them to do anything, much less threaten them. Just then, Rose made her appearance and began trying to reason with the cats. Cyra could almost feel the anger emanating from Brandin at her words. Why was he so upset by what Rose said? Was he really that desperate to fight? The werecat requested that she see their Alpha, and, as if on queue, Cyra began to sense his scent approaching.

After Anvar pressed his gun to Brandin's head and basically scolded him, he went closer to the werecat woman and introduced himself, apologizing for Brandin's actions. Cyra relaxed slightly at his presence. She knew he would be able to deal with the problem without a fight if possible. However, his comment about how they, the wolves, had forgotten that they had been in a similar position, only irritated Cyra. He was saying it as if the cats had as much right to be here as they did, that they were no more important to him than the cats. If Cyra had been in human form, she would have been flushing from irritation and embarrassment. Even so, her demeanor spoke of shame. It was not the shame that came of guilt, but of a seeming betrayal by someone she trusted. His offer to let them stay with them for a while only unsettled her further. Where was the wisdom in that? Her hackles unconsciously rose at the decision. Sure, he was the alpha, but he didn't even ask the opinion of the rest of the pack.

Suddenly, Brandin snapped, lunging and digging his teeth into Rose's shoulder. He then ruthlessly threw her against Anvar and carelessly stalked way. Anvar reciprocated after a moment, shooting at the crimson wolf and barely missing him. The anger in Cyra only increased, especially when she thought of how this bloodthirsty wolf was around Vale at all. The thought made her skin crawl. But where was Vale? Hopefully Renmy would be with her, though Cyra could swear she had smelled the gamma with Brandin.

Anvar ordered everyone to revert to human form, including the cats. A feeling of insecurity rushed through her. Being human was always weird for Cyra, and she always felt so defenseless. It was especially true now when she didn't even have her bow. However, despite the feeling of betrayal from earlier, Cyra obeyed her Alpha. She wasn't pleased though. Her fur began to ripple and disappear as if blown away by the wind. Cyra slowly rose, her lips pursed in disapproval at the Alpha, and a wariness in her eyes.

Larissa watched the alpha carefully, as he approuched. As he apologized for his pack's hostility and explained most of them had been in a similar situation, Larissa slowly relaxed. He seemed friendly. When he offered for them to stay at their home, Larissa glanced at her sister unsurely. It was very generous of him, but she still didn't completely trust them. When Astrid accepted his offer, she decided she could trust at least the alpha.

Lari was just beginning to trust this pack when that red wolf jumped forward. Just when she thought he was about to attack the alpha, he turned and bit the fox. Her eyes widened and she took a small step behind Astrid and Dante. Her coat bristled and she watched in horror as the wolf flung the fox's body at the alpha. When Dante surged forward she quickly jumped in front of him to stop him- the wolf was much too unstable to approach- but he stopped short.
She flinched, and glanced away. Larissa quickly glanced up again when she heard shots being fired. Her body tensedas the alpha shot a the wolf, quickly only small injuries but his anger with clear in his eyes. She le out a small breath when the wolf walked away without attacking anyone else.

Larissa watched thoughtfully as the alpha leaned over the red-haired fox and scooped her up. When he asked them to shift, she glanced at Astrid but closed her eyes and swiftly shifted into her human form. She stood up and swept her feather white hair over her shoulder, and waited for Astrid to follow the Alpha.

Astrid Vellamo & Dante Selantine

Astrid quietly watched Anvar treat to his wounded pack member. The fox kin’s pained moan was unsettling but Astrid kept her posture straight, reminding herself that it wasn’t her problem and she had no business trying to take over the situation. After all, she had enough to worry about with her own pride now that she knew one of the wolves was a little rough around the edges.

Astrid straightened as he turned to the felines again; smile fading a bit but still remained on his lips. She gazed at his smile, absently wondering how he could still manage to do so but dismissed the thought upon his comment. "Before we set off to the ranch I'll have to ask that you all revert to your human forms please and we shall as well, just a precaution." Astrid hesitantly nodded, and looked back at her pride to check to make sure everyone was doing so. After everyone came into his or her human form she looked to Anvar in confirmation. “Done.”

"Also I will have to ask for you to lead, as I have said the ranch is in that direction, again another precaution." Astrid shrugged, pleased with this request. “That’s completely fine.”Astrid commented confidently. She loped to the head of the group, waving her felines to follow but she made sure to motion to Dante to take the back, as the cushion between the groups. She didn’t want any surprises and she knew that the great hulking man would be plenty enough to ward off surprise attacks. Once she was comfortable with the pride’s position she led on towards the settlement in the distance, following the scent of wolf to keep her on track.

Dante stuck close to Astrid, uncomfortable with how things were developing. After the bloodbath and violence, he felt disturbed that they would be staying in close quarters with these wolves. They obviously had problems of their own, and even though he could see that Astrid wanted no part of it, it was still way too close to the pride. As Anvar set his requirements, Dante gazed at Astrid watching her agree. The first, she seemed hesitant about and he couldn’t doubt why. They would lose a lot of power if they were all in human form. Although, the wolves were all in human form too but the next order provided them with a surprise attack which deepened his unease. He noticed Astrid’s signal for him to take the back and he nodded. He would be the defense, and somehow he understood why. Dante knew what he looked like. He looked like an oversized German man, with ultra muscles. Anyone looking at him would wonder if he had been on a protein shake binge for five years while he had been going through puberty. He let the other felines follow and kept his posture straight, albeit tense, as he kept the rear of the formation.

Astrid led the pride and the wolves to a ranch house that was expansive and extremely gorgeous. She almost wished they had the same accommodations back at Central Pride. The thought was lost when she stopped beside the two houses and turned to Anvar with a curious expression. “Where would you like us to go? I’m guessing the guesthouse but since this is your home, I’ll not make any assumptions, hm? I’m sure you wouldn’t want us in your bedroom, shedding cat fur everywhere.” She grinned, and hitched one hip up while her hand rested on it. It was a typical challenging pose that didn’t show any menacing qualities and was actually a bit playful. Many of the females did that back in her pride whenever they teased the men. She needed to be in good graces with these wolves if what she had planned would go well.

"Not really, no." The injuired fox laughed lightly, causing Anvar's mood to raise a fraction. The pride's leader had agreed to his terms causing his mood to raise a little bit more but he could still feel that anger bubbling within him, ready to explode upon the next person to anger him. I'm going to curb stomp that mangy mutt when he returns, the thought was sour and felt like poison to his mind but he still held it within his head, he meant every word of it and planned on making it a reality. He noticed as they all walked to the ranch the dissaproving glare coming from his beta and gave a threatening glance back, he wasn't in the mood to be judged, he had never lead them to harm before and the odd time that danger did find them he had made sure that he was the one to come to harm not his "family". He looked down on Rose who looked small and helpless in his arms but also quite cute despite the blood seeping from her bite mark. "Now this is the second time I've carried you to our home you know." He paused for a second as he corrected himself. "Actually you wouldn't know you were completely out of it but you obviously remember giving me this scar under my eye, you always have been a lousy aim." He allowed himself a chuckle despite his crappy mood even if it was only half hearted.

They had reached the house with no more incidents, much to Anvar's relief although the dissaproving eyes he could feel on him were starting to put him down again and he began to go into thought about his decision but was interrupted. "Where would you like us to go? I'm guessing the guest house but since this is your home I'll not make any assumption, hm? I'm sure you wouldn't want us in your bedroom, shedding cat fur everywhere." He hand went to an elevated hip, the alpha wasn't quite sure if she was flirting or not, he had very limited experience with werecats, he had read the countless books in the study about the war of the ghilles and knew that they shouldn't be treated lightly but if they had came here aggressively they would have slaughtered Brandin there and then, not remain diplomatic as they had. He returned her gaze with a smile, strained but not noticeably so, not to someone who didn't know him anyway. "You assumed right but I'll warn you you're already standing in my bedroom, I prefer to sleep under the stars." He wasn't kidding the only time he slept in the house was when it rained and when the winters cold became too much for him otherwise he'd sleep by the campfire, the roaring flames keeping him warm while a bottle or two of whiskey kept him company.

"Head inside the only thing the guesthouse doesn't have is somewhere to cook food but if you're desperate for some cooked meat, I'll be happy to have some company by the campfire." He pointed to it. "But I'm afraid you'll have to wait a while before that happens I have to tend to my wounded friend here and have a word with the rest of the pack here." He gave a glance to all the present members and gestured with his head to go to the study before turning around to Astrid ine more time. "I'll drop by to see if you're all doing ok." And with that he headed into the house to which his pack members had already entered. "Now I'm going to fix you up and make you that pretty fox lass I know." He chimed to Rose, laying her down gently on the couch before heading into the kitchen to fetch the first aid box, and a bottle of emergency sipping whiskey (Renmy had used up all the anti-septics it seemed.) He pulled a rilled bandage out of the box and soaked it in the whiskey, it was lucky he loved everyone of his pack members, Brandin excluded otherwise he might not have wasted the one liquid he held more sacred than blood. "Now this is going to sting like an absolute bitch." He warned her before pressing it down firmly onto the wound to which he quickly priceede to bandage up, not a single bit embarrassed or shamed with where his hands where touching, he was helping her out after all.

After checking he had done a good job, gave her a light kiss on her injuired shoulder. LNow that will make your boo boo all better, now I don't have a lollipop but how about somethimg a little bit stronger?" He held out the whiskey to her and was surprised by her reaponse before suddenly becoming serious as he realised tha the rest of the pack was waiting for him in the study, sighing rather sadly he asked Rose. "Do you think I made a bad call? I was only showing a bit of human compassion for god's sake." He nodded solemly at her answer before heading to the study. He opened the door and as soon as those judging eyes hit him his anger bubbled up again, not exploding but spilling over a bit. "I know what you all are thinking and I have one thing to say, how fucking dare you." He was surprised as anyone else at his choice of words but he had little power over himself at the present time. "How fucking dare you that you don't trust me enough with this decision, not once have I lead this pack into danger, not once and when it has come knocking on our doors have I not shown you how much I love each one of you that stands before me." He was almost close to tears as he ranted on. "I think just by looking at me should remind you of all the sacrifices I have made to keep you safe." He gestured to his scars at this statement, not one had come from his own mistake, all of them had been from him helping them whether it be sparring, protecting them in a fight or simply from scrapes and burns when helping with their duties. "If they really wanted to mean us harm they would have slaughtered that bastard of a wolf that attacked one of his own pack and believes he can get away with it." He shook his head and glared at everyone, keeping eye contact until they broke it. "Now just piss off, I'm heading to the campfire if anyone needs me." The anger was now gone for good and he regretted yelling at his pack like that but saying sorry wasn't going ro help.

He grabbed a bottle from the cabinet and the already opened whiskey and headed to the campfire, passing by Rose to which he gave her a weak smile the best he could muster. He had completely forgotten about checking up in the cats and began to build a fire. Only when it had finished had he began to drink visiously, not giving damn who saw him but feeling lonely despite his best efforts and began to go deep in thought. on hsr in

Rose Larkin

Rose rested her head against Anvar's chest as he carried her, her red mane sweeping over his arm. Her shoulder throbbed painfully, but her face remained relatively blank. She focused on the cats walking before them, unfazed by their nudity. It's was simply part of shifting- clothing was hard to carry around when you didn't have any hands. She was vaugly aware of the fact that her right hand was trembling.
"This is the second time I've carried you home you know. Actually you wouldn't know you where completely out of it but obviously you remember giving me this scar under my eyes, you always have been a lousy aim." This caused Rose to smile a fraction, as she looked up at the scar just under his eye. "Yeah, we'll being mauled by a wolf usually makes you a tad bit afraid." She nestled into Anvar's arms a bit more, careful not to more her right arm. Her mismatched eyes closed as she listened to the steady sound of the alpha's heartbeat.

"Where would you like us to go? I'm guessing the guest house but this is your home so I'll not make any assumptions, hm? I'm sure you wouldn't want us in your bedroom, shedding cat fur everywhere." Rose glanced up at the leader of the small group of cats as she spoke, and rested her hand on an elevated hip. She raised one brow, not sure what the cat was trying to say. Even though she was a fox, she had been around the pack so long that she acted like a wolf.
Rose glanced at her shoulder, as a wave of pain brought a fresh new wave of anger. The coward had attacked her twice, then ran off like a scared pup.

Anvar's pulled her from her thoughts as he carried her into the house. "Now I'm going to fix you up and make you that pretty fox lass that I know." He told her, and she could help but smile back at him. She tensed a little when he put her on the couch, thankful that he was careful of her injury. The movement caused minimal pain, but it was pain nonetheless. She flinched, and watched Anvar's carefully as he grabbed a bottle of whiskey and gauze. "Now this is going to sting like an absolute bitch." She closed her eyes tight and looked away, but was still shocked at the sudden pain in her shoulder. A sharp, pain filled yelp escaped her and she jerked back. He put pressure down on her wound, and wrapped her wound.

Rose relaxed a little as Anvar leaned forwards and lightly kissed her wound. "Now that will make your boobooo feel all better. Now I don't have a lollipop but how about something a bit stronger?" She laughed slightly, as her shoulder numbed up. She shook her head when he offered her the bottle, and her expression softened as he spoke to her gently. "Do you think I made a bad call? I was only showing some human compassion for gods sake." As he spoke to her, she shook her head. "No, you made a good call. You where being kind. It's what any compassionate person would do."

Rose watched him leave, and flinched when she hear him yell. She slowly stood up, and went to the bathroom. Her right arm was bloodied around the bandage, and on the shirt she was wearing. She carefully ran a damp cloth over her arm, washing away the strong smelling blood. She left the bathroom, about to head to her room to change when she saw Anvar outside, drinking heavily. Overcome by pain and anger, her impulsive side took over.
She pushed the front door open with her good arm, keeping her injured arm close to her body as she headed towards the alpha.

Without any warning, she pulled the bottle from his mouth and replaced it with her lips.
