History: Robert Kay Morningtide was actually born Robert Kay Mills to two ranchers by the name of Cheryl and William. He was their third child, having one girl and one boy before him His sister was the oldest, 13 years older than him, and his brother was 5 years older than him. As soon as he could walk, his parents started making him work on the farm with his family. Either dragging tools around or cleaning the floor of the barn. It is what was expected of his siblings, him, and everyone one else who lived in Hessia,. When he wasn’t working, his father taught him, like he had taught his brother, how to shoot, giving him a BB gun on his 7th birthday.
By the time he was 16, he siblings still worked at the farm, getting ready to take it over from their parents. Robert didn’t mind the life, it put food on the table and kept him busy. Robert also made a good relationship with the local sheriff helping him around town. The sheriff was a retired colonel and told Robert most of his stories and taught him of the military, and Robert knew that was his calling.
When he turned 17, he wrote a note saying he was leaving to join up in the military, and not to try to find him. He didn’t want to join the local continent’s military, in fear of his parents finding him, so he took a ferry to Ansguard. Along the trip, he would get up every morning to watch the tides crash against the ship and the ice, so the captain started calling him Morningtide, and Robert adopted that as his last name.
Once Robert reached land, he joined the ranks of the Golden King's army he quickly rose the ranks, showing excellent leadership skills, and the hardworking mentality he got from growing up on a farm. He fought in many battles and afterwards bedded many women who loved men in uniform.
One night when Robert was a Major, his camp started coming under attack. Robert was told by the general to retreat to the checkpoint, and to leave his men behind because he was more valuable. He refused and took a stand, commandeering one of the magic frozen pulse cannons ontop a tower, that they had received from the Ice Queen, and shooting at the oncoming force. During this, the men under his command all made it out. But before he could escape, the opposing forces blew up the tower he was in, sending it falling into the old garage, and destroying the rest of the base before retreating.
The next morning, Robert was pulled out the wreckage, somehow unscarred and no injuries. He was decorated for saving the lives of his men, and since he wasn’t injured, continue with the military. He showed prowess as a leader and quickly was quickly made one of the youngest generals to date by the Golden King. He never sent his men on a mission he wouldn’t go on, sometimes even joining them.
While on leave, some mysterious people came up to him and told him he had a child. Robert wasn’t too excited, but the idea of having a son to raise in his footsteps and make the Morningtide name greater, put a smile on his face, which very few people have seen. But once the people came back months later, Robert was shocked that it was a girl. Robert thought of this as a challenge, sent by the gods, and still raised her the way he would have raised a son. His parenting style was unique.
As she girl got older, he would make her come to briefings and meetings, teaching her all he knows. She would train with the men in the yard. The only special treatment he gave her was a warm bed compared to the cots of his men.
General Morningtide’s career for more esteemed and even infamous to others, winning his battles by any sacrifice, by whatever means, with whatever weapons he could find, working with numerous weapon manufactures while other generals stuck to the books. Shortly after he met a professor dabbling in experimental robotic enhancements. Now enhancements weren’t a new thing. People knew about them, some had. But these were unheard of. Splicing directly into the subject neural system, becoming on in part with the person. Some including weapons, which weren’t an idea yet because most people who had cybernetic enhancements had them because they NEEDED them to survive. The ones General Morningtide wanted were to kill.
General had to do this in secret, so he had his daughter be experimented on. Only after the success he shared the information with the military. They were against it at first, but after seeing the success in Abigail, they allowed it. But shortly after this, his daughter wanted to go to the famous Mistviel Academy. Robert was against it, armies won wars, not folk heroes, but after long discussing, he allowed her to go. He has not yet started to implement the enhancements to the military yet.
Notable Equipment: Robert carries a high caliber pistol on his hip at all times, along with a cane. But he does not use it to support him, but to deceive those around them, the cane is a rifle in disguise that shoots a pulse like soundwave that stuns that it hits.
Mentality: If you were to describe General Morningtide as a military man, he would correct you and say he is THE military man. He shows little compassion to much besides his craft, war. Even to his own daughter he treats like a soldier, giving in only occasionally. He has done a lot of things people would regret if they were him, the decisions he had to make, the lifes he had to sacrifice. But he will say none of it bothers him, and it doesn’t. He only has three people he trusts, Abigail, Professor Wiretrink, and himself. Besides them, he doesn’t trust anyone else fully, but makes a lot of acquaintances, including the CEO of Blacklight Industries, Mr. Blacklight himself. He doesn’t trust the man, and Mr. Blacklight doesn’t trust him, but they are close business partner, both profiting one way or another from the partnership.
Fears: He has been known to not fear anything, having stared death in the face numerous times. But the one true fear he has is to die not on the battlefield. He believs if one does not die fighting, they have failed everything else in their life.
