Given Name :: Eden Adler
Nickname :: Her closest friends call her Edie, but thenā¦she doesnāt have many close friends.
Gender :: Female
Age :: 27
Horse :: Silver Linings (Sterling)
Position :: Stable Owner
Personality ::
Eden is a practical, no-nonsense kind of gal. She does not take kindly to schmoozing and sweet-talking, and is both loved and despised for her consistent (and often biting) candor. She is not one to spare feelings, especially when the safety of a horse or rider is involved, and she runs Shady Oak with an iron fist. At, least, thatās what sheād like you to think. Get a bit closer to the Iron Lady and youāll find sheās quite pleasant, even sweet when the mood strikes. (But breathe a word about it and sheāll have you mucking stalls for a week.)
She is said to have a stare that can turn a man to stone, and she can be a bit of a cold fish at first meetings. Growing up she was frequently ignored, both by her parents and by the older grooms and exercise boys at the stable where she worked, and as a result sheās become quite apt at voicing her opinions and proving herself a capable leader. She wonāt hesitate to show you whoās boss, but sheāll do it with all the calm and control of the ultimate horsewoman.
History ::
Edenās parents were not horse people. Or animal people. Or people people. They did, however, have an exorbitant amount of money, and very little time for their daughter. Eden took it upon herself to find an activity with which to occupy her time, and after hearing a friend gush about the pony her grandparents had bought her, Eden promptly settled upon horseback riding.
Eden had her first riding lesson at 7 years old, and she hasnāt looked back. She received her first pony, Pippin, at age 8 and got her first job as a groom at a high-end stable when she 13. She quickly realized few had time for the opinions or suggestions of a tiny teenage girl, but once she and Pippin began gaining notoriety in the show ring, everything changed. As she grew up, so did her career.
Unfortunately, at the age of 21 and the peak of her showing career, Eden and another horse were in an accident that resulted in the death of the horse and the end of Edenās time in the show ring. Sheās recovered physically since then, with only a slight limp as a reminder of the accident, but sheās never quite emotionally recovered.
Dating? :: Even if there were time, youād be hard pressed to get this woman in a relationshipā¦or to find anyone who would take her.
Married? :: To her job, yes.
Appearance ::
Standing 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing a scant 105 lbs, Eden doesnāt cut the most imposing figure. There is nothing particularly impressive about her appearance (her dark eyes and hair and fair skin could belong to any number of nationalities), but she carries herself in such a way that few dare to disregard her. She has a curious way about her- a posture that is neither stiff nor relaxed, and a gait that is both brisk and measured. Due to a mysterious accident, she also walks with a slight limp. The topic of her injury is an extremely sensitive one, and it is the one chink in Edenās nearly impenetrable armor. She prefers to be seen on the back of a horse, where her injury is more easily masked.
She is always well kept, and you are hard pressed to find her in any riding attire other than a crisp polo and a spotless pair of breeches. Her hair is most often secured in a low bun at the nape of her neck without a strand out of place, and her face is nearly always void of makeup. Itās rumored she doesnāt sweat, and even after the hardest workouts she is always calm and collected. Itās tough to phase her, and even tougher to find her in dirty clothes.

Show Name :: Silver Linings
Barn Name :: Sterling
Gender :: Gelding
Breed :: Irish Sport Horse
Age :: 12
Discipline :: Eventing
Personality ::
Sterling is the love bug of the barn. He considers himself Shady Oak's official greeter, and has taken it upon himself to run alongside cars in the pasture while whinnying his welcome. More dog than horse, he is frequently found schmoozing with anyone who will give him the time of day and stealing treats from pockets. He takes joy in life's simple pleasures (a scratch between the ears, a roll in the grass, crushed peppermint sprinkled over his feed), and he adores everyone he meets. Around the barn he's something of a goofball, and likes to get Eden's attention by knocking his blanket off the stall, playing with his bucket, and other horse-y antics.
On the flipside, Sterling is a well-trained and extremely disciplined horse. Attentive and eager, he is incredibly responsive and willing to please. He loves to compete, and is especially talented in dressage. He can be a bit too reliant on a rider for guidance, and as a result he can get nervous on tough cross country courses and scary high jumps in the ring. With the right rider and a strong hand, Sterling is a true competitor.
History ::
Sterling was actually born abroad in beautiful Ireland, and was shown by a well-known Irish rider and a good friend of Eden's. A year before Eden's accident, she purchased the gorgeous grey with the intention of making him her new eventing champion. Unfortunately, after Eden's career ending accident, Sterling did a lot of lazing about the stable.
When Eden finally found the courage to ride again, it was Sterling she chose to ride. She places an enormous amount of trust in him, and he in her. She has worked hard to get him in top competition shape, but refuses to show him herself.
Appearance: ::
Sterling is a big boy- over 16 hands and rippling with muscle. He boasts a beautiful grey coat, dappled by little spots Eden calls his "silver linings", and long, powerful legs. His broad, deep chest and thicker neck have given him the power to burn through cross country courses, but his breeding and responsiveness have given him the control and grace to excel in dressage.
