Setting
Kranioch was a dwarven explorer and scholar, who is believed to have first claimed the mountains for the dwarven people. The mountains are legendary for two things. First, the ancient Dwarven Civilization that once held it's capital here maintained a store of ancient knowledge in the great Library of Danur. Nobody has ever found it, but the grandeur said to lay within still entices adventurers and historians all.
The second feature of the mountains that makes them legendary are the Shatter stone Tunnels, an ancient Dwarven project, tunnels that reached out and across the entirety of Shalcora. People have only ever found sections, collapsed or otherwise unusable, but it is said that within the main hub in the mountains sits an ancient map of the tunnels, which if found would allow navigation throughout all the world at high speed.

The Mountains of Kranioch
The Mountains sit atop the world like a crown of pearl tipped amethyst. Within these ranges, riches abound, as ancient dwarven ruins and all the secrets of knowledge and power that are held within lay waiting for intrepid, bold, or foolish adventurers.
