Introduction

It all started when a child with 'extraordinary' abilities was born. To be more precise, he was pyrokinetic, which was quickly discovered as he just a few hours after his birth had set a whole hospital on fire. Although he was the first, this boy was far from the last child born with such mutations. Many, many more children with this kind of 'special condition' were to follow. In order to prevent global panic and that the children came to harm, they were taken into custody by the government. Some parents agreed to send their children away to 'safety', but some had their children taken by force.

Everything happened behind the scenes. The general public was never informed about any of this. It was a top-secret operation. Of course, this was all for the safety of humanity. Secluding the children from normal society was for the better. Not only could they pose a danger to normal individuals, but they could also possibly pose a danger to themselves.

Yet, after they were taken away by the government, what happened to these children?

A faze of testing proceeded. A secret project had been created. A new way to range war, an army that would be able to make everyone bend the knee. Children were unmercifully trained into becoming puppets hung up on strings and no one knew what was happening. But cracks soon started to show. Something had gone wrong with the experiment...

Some of the test subjects started to act different, it was like they had been possessed, nothing but bloodlust was left. Everything went wrong, the defaulting subjects massacred everyone that got in their way. Researchers, guards, and even their own comrades. No one could face them as a group so they made their way out from the facility and continued to butcher anyone that got in their way.

Now on the outside where they wreak havoc, it's now their former comrade's job to take them out in an attempt to save humanity. But under the surface cracks are still slowly forming.

Judah #1c4966 Jessie #45b6fe
The Twins

They had only been in the institute a few months when Jessie began his plan. A few powerful words here a mental push there, it was easy. He'd wrapped a few choice guards around his little finger with no suspicion. It helped, he has supposed that they had wrongly assumed his powers. Looking too far down at Judah to even suspect he was the powerful one they had thought they tracked down. It was only a matter of time. Jessie was still mentally schooling himself for being so stupid, they'd gotten caught stealing clothes of all things.

The morning of 'the day' had started perfectly. Through their mental bond that had yet to be discovered Jessie had let his brother know it was time. The guard he had charmed smiled lovingly as he unlocked the door where Jessie had been held. They'd walked to Judah's room and he to had joined them. No one even batted an eyelid as the two boys had been lead around the guard in tow. That's when something went wrong. They passed by a door a light had flashed and the guard blinked as if wiped of the veil Jessie held over him.

The fall back had been severe. They had locked Jessie in a room trying to get him to talk. Like he cared about himself? They could hurt him all they wanted. After a week in isolation he was suddenly let go. The smiles on the staffs faces made him wary. The smiles got brighter when an announcement was made. Today was a combat training day. Not unusual as it had happened a few times since they had arrived but something tasted wrong.

Judah
The colours were pretty today. Judah's gaze drifted up and around the flecks and strips of life in the room around him. There was a baby bird outside somewhere. He could see it's life force flitting about in it's blue's and green's. A orange was coming for him in this small room. That was okay usually the orange ones were nice. He barely recognised it when he was dragged to his feet lead out the door and down the hall. There were so many colours. Some were hurt and sickly and that made him sad. But some were vibrant. He was lead into a large room he recognised. This is where people got hurt, where they fought. He always watched from the corner and Jessie had made him promise not to heal anyone. So he went down to his corner. Watched the blue of the baby bird on the other side of the wall and was content.

Ivan #e3001f

Another day just like any other. Ivan was lying on top of his bed with his arms placed beneath his head and looked upon the white ceiling. He imagined that rays of sunlight were dancing before him, but the only thing that shone in this cell was the artificial light from the fluorescent lamps. The harsh white light blinded him for a short moment as he stared into it and at that moment something else caught his attention. He turned his head towards the door just as it opened, a man stepped inside and grumbled, "Training day."

Vincent shrugged towards him but sat up on the bed and stretched a little before he even made an effort to raise from the bed, "Okay." He walked out through the door with the guard following closely behind him. Just outside his room stood two men that were huge as mountains just like the one before. Ivan chuckled to himself as he started to follow one of them, this seemed a bit unnecessary, didn't it? He was sure that he could take them all on if he actually wanted. But they could do whatever they wanted in case that made them feel safer. His chuckle seemed to have grabbed the attention of the one who walked beside him and strangely enough the man seemed to grin as well. Ivan furrowed his brows but didn't think anything more of it. He must have imagined it.

At the end of the long corridor the white metal door opened before him and he stepped inside, surprised at first. Was he the first one here? That was unusual. He glanced around the room and just as he was passing by a shape startled him. Was someone hiding in there? Ivan looked closer. Yes, there was truly someone there in the corner. Was this a joke? Ivan looked around and chuckled to himself once more as he stared into the video cameras. This must be a joke.

Or was it? Ivan looked over at the corner once more but this time he felt a bit uncertain. Perhaps this was all an illusion? Perhaps it was one of those mind freaks? He couldn't trust his senses in that case. The more he thought about it the more certain he became. This had to be one of the mind freaks that was trying to stab him in the back. He had to act quick now, he had wasted enough time. The other one had a huge advantage while he had been acting like a fool.

The first thing he had to do was to make the illusion disappear, whatever happened after that was uncertain but Ivan had nothing to lose. He clenched his fist and in one fast leap, Ivan attacked. He didn't try to use all of his strength, there was no use in doing that when it was an illusion. But that didn't mean he wasn't putting some power in it. He went straight for the face with his knuckles.

Judah #1c4966
Judah

Judah barely recognised when the doors opened. He was content in his own little world. He reached out and ran his hands into the life force of the bird and pushed. His vision filled with the outside and a smile came to his face as he looked up into the branches of the tree this bird called it's home. It was hopping up and down calling out for it's mother Judah could feel the cold wind brush against his feather and- and- and-

Pain clouded his vision as he was wrenched from the view of the small bird, from the happy blues and greens back into the cold white room. Blood trickled down the side of his face as he turned his head to look at the only other person in the room. Oh. His vision was doubled for a second as he turned his head the feeling of sick ringing in his head but, the colour. A pure red life-force was vibrant and full. It was so pretty to watch it work filling itself endlessly Judah wanted to dive into that force. He wanted to pull at it to see how deep it went, how good that power would feel inside him, taken for himself. He could- No.

Forcing himself out of that mindset he blinked his vision clear and looked at the man in front of him. He processed that this was the man that had punched him. Why? He looked around for an answer. The room was empty there was no one here all he'd done was sit. Oh, it occurred to him maybe he'd stolen this person spot. His bad. He shifted a few feet to the right away from the corner so the other could sit down.....

......

........?

........He didn't???? Was he still mad?!? Pulling a face of deep confusion he reached into his pocket and pulled out one of his few seeds. He pushed his energy into it and grew the blue rose full and vibrant before placing it down on the spot. There, that was a good apology. With a hum of content, he went back to looking at the bird ignoring his throbbing head and the blood that was starting to run down his face and onto the floor.

Ivan #e3001f
He was expecting to have his punch fly through the air, to pass through the imagination. Instead, it landed. For a second Ivan could feel the sensation of the other mutant's skin but the moment he did he withdrew his hand. He backed up a couple of steps and stared down at the other person. Once more he furrowed his eyebrows while he looked around, unsure of what was going on.

A sound grabbed his attention and he looked down on the stranger as he moved across the floor. Ivan almost gawked at the person but stopped himself just as his mouth fell open. They did say that it was training day right? Why wasn't he fighting? Even more, why wasn't he fighting back after Ivan punched him? Ivan couldn't grasp the situation. This was a strange situation. Ivan didn't like it.

"Why are you just sitting there?" Ivan looked down as he spoke to the stranger but noticed the blank look behind those eyes. He wasn't listening? He didn't even seem to be aware of what was going on in the room at all. Ivan glanced towards the blue rose and scratched the back of his head with a heavy sigh. Adrenaline was pumping through his veins, he started to pace around the room. He walked across the floor and felt more and more trapped for every second. He wanted to claw and punch the walls. He wanted to get out. He wanted to escape this situation.

The more he paced the more agitated he got. Soon, his heartbeat was beating even louder, it felt like he would explode any second. With a few quick steps, he was right in front of the man once more and stared down at him. Ivan clenched his fist once more, trying to control his anger. He could feel his nails pierce his skin, but it didn't help. In frustration, he punched the wall before grabbing onto the collar of the other man and lifting him up from the floor, "What the hell's wrong with you?! Why are you just sitting there after I punched you in the face?! You are supposed to fight me! Why aren't you fighting me?!"

Judah #1c4966
Judah

Judah was trying to pay attention to the bird. It wasn't very often there was an animal close enough to look into but the person he was in the room with was getting more and more upset. He could taste the agitation, the pacing and anger in this life force. The red had started vibrant, it still was but the pretty scarlet was becoming rusted. He was half paying attention as he spoke words going in his ear and out the other.

Then he was on his feet. Back against the wall, all his attention is on this man with the endless energy. His head swam at the sudden movement but he focuses through. He needed to focus. "You are supposed to fight me! Why aren't you fighting me?!" He was? Why? A spike of fear not his own tugged in the back of his head, Jesse's emotions muted but there. He slowly started to understand gaze drifting up to the security cameras that were focused in on him and this man. And he truly did understand.

He wasn't weak. They thought he was. That much was clear. He could kill this man. Would be justified too but why? What would that achieve? He wasn't going to go there. Wasn't going to think how easy it would be to snuff out this bright light. All the lights. How to explain it to this man? He had so many questions that he didn't have the answer to. "Why would I fight you? What would it prove? Why is reconfirming to them that I am the monster they think I am, do? Why waste the time to decide on a match I already know the answer to?" Judah's voice hurt unused to this much talking.

It was then he realised this man was hurt. He thought this time the exception could be made. He reached up laying a hand on the damaged skin trailing his fingers through the blood as his touch healed the skin under them. He held up his bloody fingers fascinated, they fitted this man's energy. So much bloodshed in his life, both his and others. It occurred to him that this man was picked by them. For a reason.

"Why are you fighting me? Why did they pick you of all people to be the one to punish my brother? Do they think you are a monster too? That you would enjoy making me bleed? If you want me to bleed, I'll bleed for you. I don't mind." Judah hadn't ever spoken this much but something about this man intrigued him, he wanted to bleed for him, if it made him smile. If it made his energy better.

"Why would I fight you? What would it prove? Why is reconfirming to them that I am the monster they think I am, do? Why waste the time to decide on a match I already know the answer to?"

Ivan blinked once then twice, surprised at the words that left the other man's mouth. Monster? He let go of the stranger's collar and let his arms fall down at his sides unsure what to do with them now. Did he really think that this weak thing was a monster? How? Why? It seemed so strange. Ivan couldn't comprehend how the two of them could be placed in the same category.

An sudden touch, Ivan looked down at his own hands and watched as the man touched the wounds he had created himself. He saw the skin heal itself, it was not something weird to him, but this time it was different. He could feel an interference, a warm feeling was left on the palm of his hand. This was not his own doing. This must be the other man's doing, was he a healer? Why was he participating in this sort of fight in that case? The situation seemed to grow stranger by the minute.

"Why are you fighting me? Why did they pick you of all people to be the one to punish my brother? Do they think you are a monster too? That you would enjoy making me bleed? If you want me to bleed, I'll bleed for you. I don't mind."

Ivan chuckled at the question, he didn't really know why, but he found it funny somehow. Here was someone that didn't know who he was. That was something new. A bit entertaining but mostly something strange he hadn't experienced in a long time. With a grin, Ivan shrugged, "I think everyone here thinks I'm a monster. Haven't you heard about me? I'm the mad dog they can't put down even if they wanted to. So there's no reason for you to waste energy by healing me - I'm immortal."

Perhaps he had a flair for the dramatics, but he truly found this situation hilarious by now so in a matter of seconds Ivan had thrust his own thumb inside his eyesocket. His vision became red as the blood started to pour out of the place where an icy blue eye just had been. He stretched out his bloody hand towards the healer and hissed, "Wait, don't do anything. This doesn't even hurt anymore so don't overreact."

In a matter of minutes, the blood stopped pouring out of the wound, and just as fast as it had appeared it disappeared. Soon after he opened his eye once more, it had regenerated by itself since that was Ivan's special gift. He chuckled once more, "See, I'm the nutcase they send in when they want to see a real fight since I can't be damaged. But I can do damage. Do you still believe I'm interested in fighting with someone that's just going to bend the knee and accept it?"
