"I smell magic and madness, strong madness. Dude, something is wrong with Anter, I don't sense his soul anymore but there he is in Shade's hands literally oozing madness. I think its time to use the second stage of the Silver Bullet Blaster!" Calyx said.

"Well shit, that's not good." Malcolm said in his metallic sounding voice. "The second stage? Are you serious, we could hit Anter and Shade! Besides, we'd have to drop Witch Bane which might be the only thing stopping that hooded guy from skewering Shade!" Malcolm protested. But, he knew it was too late. Calyx had decided on what to do, and when Cal decide, then that's what they were going to do. Cal simply gave Malcolm....The Look. When Cal gave the look, that meant no more goofing around, it meant that he was ready to die yet not accept defeat. It meant Malcolm better get ready. "Tch. Fine, we'll do it your way. Let's just try not to kill our friends, okay?" Malcolm said casually. "Witch Bane, Release!" They said in unison. They then started to resonate with each other. Their voice as one "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!" Malcolm's weapon form began to shift. Instead of the large cannon, it was an even larger cannon with exhaust pipes coming off the back and the maw of the cannon was a giant wolf's head. A giant red targeting device situated in front of Calyx's face. Mal began speaking. "Wind, 2.3%, noise level, 0.3%, trajectory set, target locked. 5...4...3...2...1..." Cal then spoke. "Silver Bullet Blaster Stage Two......SILVER BULLET BUSTER CANNON!!!" A blinding amount of silver light projected from the maw of the cannon in the shape of a large sphere, which was then let loose at the kishin.

As the boy rushed him once more, he could feel the power of the weapon as it grew, but then something unexpected happened. Suddenly, the weapon was overrun with some sort of intense madness, clearly not something the Meister and weapon could have achieved through a Soul Resonance, no this was much more. Matsura prepared himself, for it would be rather difficult to dodge this attack.
Matsura threw himself back, as i he were doing some sort of limbo. His head was against the ground, and the flexibility of his knees was as if they were made of some sort of rubber material. The blade of the axe swung by his head, cutting off a small strand of his hair, which oddly turned into a cold cloud of moist air. As this happened, Matsura could feel the feeble restraint on his magic release, and a cold grin crept to his lips.
He lunged forward with his right hand, attempting to grip Shade's wrist while he was still recuperating from the swing. If this was a success, then he would drive his palm upward into a thrust into Shade's chest.
At the same moment, Matsura felt another burst of energy from behind him. "Shit..." He thought, knowing there was no time left. He spun, bracing his chest for the impact with a solid block of his ice, but it was simply no use.
A large hole was punctured clean through his chest. This should have been the part where Matsura morphed into all the human souls he had eaten, but nothing happened. Instead, when the smoke cleared, the whole in his chest was empty, the outsides jagged with little shards of ice. The wound started to close as Matsura smiled. "If they keep fighting, their dumber then they look, and they looked pretty dumb in the first place..." He thought.




Elia smiled at Alge as he sat down next to her. Truth be told she wasn't up to a fight right now, and something in her stomach was churning. For a minute she thought it might have been the curry, but there was no way it soaked through her that quickly. "I...I just want to go home..." She whispered, clutching her tummy as she stood and made her way to the door.
As she walked the steps into her home, the pain in her stomach was almost too much to handle. "I think I'm going to be sick..." She complained. It wasn't until she was a mere two steps from the door that she noticed it was slightly ajar. "Odd..." She thought, pushing it all the way open, which she almost immediately regretted doing.
Everything in her stomach, and the rest of her body for that matter, had gone ice cold. She stood, frozen in the doorway, staring at the man in her living room. "My...how you've grown..." The figure oozed, the voice making her feel as though she had been dipped in a tub full of ice. "Matsura..." She whispered.
And it was him, standing in her living room, in the flesh. He inched toward her, but she stepped back. "You're not yourself...what happened to you..?" Elia couldn't believe her eyes. It had been years since she had last seen Matsura, their fathers were basically brothers, and Matsura had known Elia since she was in diapers. But now something was different, now he wasn't the Matsura she knew back when she was seven, back when his parents were murdered and he disappeared.

Misaki knew that something was wrong, but she never would have thought it'd be so close. The loud sounds made it obvious there was something happening nearby, and there was a suddenly a sharp pain in her head. She shut her eyes and squeezed her forehead; the anti-magic wavelength had affected her badly for some reason.

Without a second thought, Misaki grabbed a hold of Noir's arm and pulled Noir away from the scene. Staying in that area would only do them harm, and she didn't think it would be good for Noir. "Let's just keep out of this one." Misaki stated as the pair ran from the scene; they wouldn't be much help anyways if there was a magic cancelation masking the area since most of their attacks are magic related. "Are you alright?" She hadn't bothered to ask her partner how she was feeling; it would affect her more than Misaki.

"its about time you got here" as he places his hand on his head as he sigh "why are you talking to your self" as he walks over to her and thumps her on her forehead as he looks at her annoyed "what took you so long as he begins to walk to lord deaths room

"I can't believe it didn't kill him, now we gotta kick this up a few notches towards crazy!" Cal said as he adjusted the blade on his partner so he could use it and the gun separately.

"So, Death, what is your reaction? She said as she sipped her tea. "Well, it seems we have a situation on our hands!" Death said as he placed his cup down and made a call. "Stein, Spirit, I want you two to find me a map of Medusa's laboratory and have B.J. excavate it immediately. Uh huh, no Spirit, you can't ask Maka and Soul to join you, They are still out on a mission in Ghana." "Hi, Spirit, hey, Stein!" Holo said blowing Stein a kiss over Death's shoulder, "Sir, are you sure that we shoulsn't bring at least one other team with us atleast for security?" Spirit replied with total seriousness. "I already thought about that, I have Asuza, Tezca and Enrique to meet you at the site." Death replied with a laugh at Stein's reaction to the kiss.

Algernon was disappointed that Elia was turning down this fight, but they had just gotten done with one so she might still be tired from that one. He waved goodbye as she headed home while he himself went back in the vague direction of the D.W.M.A. He intended to go to the library. He was about halfway there when he heard the sounds of battle. It must be Shade and Anter, followed by Calyx and Malcolm. The fight was still going on? Alge snuck forward so as to not distract anyone involved in the fight. His eyes widened when he saw the Kishin, a large hole had been punched through its chest and it looked like ice was forming around the wound.

"Sorry about that Ah-chan." Cherry giggled. "I got kinda lost on my way here. What is it that Lord Death wants with us anyway?"

Noir let out a breath as the tightness in her chest started to subside. Having a witch’s wavelength but without the advanced powers left her with a large amount of their weaknesses without many of their advantages. Since she had a magical wavelength without the power to shield it Noir always felt weak in the presence of anti-magic fields; typically the only thing that would have changed for a normal witch would be that they couldn’t use magic but still had a protection over their souls to prevent inner damage; Noir didn’t have that.

Noir’s very soul essence was doused in magical energy so when she looked over at Misaki she could tell the young meister was slightly discomforted. It made sense as when partners resonate their souls together it was a constant reflection of energy against their souls; having a soul based of magic there was no doubt Misaki was slowly being affected by it. Noir only hoped it wouldn’t affect the madness sleeping inside her partner’s heart.

“I… I’m feeling better…” Noir whispered out as she let out a small pained cough. “I’m fine…” Noir said as she slowly tugged her arm from her partner’s grasp; although they were close enough to live together Noir still had issues of letting one anyone to close to her. Reaching into her small bag she pulled out a small mirror and handed it to Misaki..

“I’m feeling a little faint… While I relax could you contact Shinigami about any missions?”

As Shade's attack missed completely, he saw that Matsura was aiming for his wrist and chest. Shade barely dodged his strike, while the Kishin's massive strength caused the blow to graze him, chipping off some skin. If he had reverted his soul energy into defense, Matsura's attack would have barely affected him. Even if it was a direct hit. At the same time he retracted his right hand away from Anter's handle. "Tche. I'll teach you to mess with a god!" Shade roared out, while still shooting foward with the massive strike he sent out. He then placed his hand back on the handle and made an abrupt turn still having the massive power from the first swing implanted in this strike. He swong Anter with full force. This time reverting 1/8th of his soul energy into speed, so there would be less chance of a miss, but not applying as much damage. He also noticed a medium-sized hole in Matsura's chest, causing from an attack from Mal, and Calyx. Ice seemed to be forming around it, concieling the wound. "Who told you bastards you were allowed to join my fight, huh?!" Shade exclaimed angrily, as an anger mark appeared on his forehead. His attack was now only several feet away, as Shade kicked foward with his foot to put just a tad more force in it. "Excecution!" He yelled as the blade was only inches away from it's target.

Matsura's attack was avoided, but he could feel a small amount of skin being ripped off the boy. The hole in his chest had sealed completely now, leaving only an ice blue mark on his chest, but that did not, however, deal with the second swing of the large blade, that had now been redirected at him once more. There was little time to react, with the amount of energy coming from the blade, thanks to the weapon's sudden madness, it would be impossible to catch it, without any consequences that is.
The blade made contact, but not with the body. There was now a large scythe in the hands of Matsura, and he was blocking the attack from Shade. "Odd...it has been a long while since I've had to use Furusoto in battle...this kid must have more talent then his ego shows..." The scythe surged with a glowing blue energy, which sent a pulsing shock wave outward, as to knock the attack away from him. "Although, if it weren't for the madness leaking through that weapon, the boy would have been dead much sooner..."
He twirled the scythe by his side, holding it at the ready. He was not so concerned with the boy and the gun, but more or less concerned with Shade, the close combat fighter. Seeing as how the first attack from Calyx was seemingly absorbed, and that must have been most of the power they had in reserve for a hit like that, they were the least of his worries.

"The heck, it barely phased him. You think we should use Wolf's Bane/magic combo, it might actually make a difference!" Cal hiccuped. "Do you really think it will work this time?" Mal asked worried about how well Calyx was fending off the madness that was spewing from Anter's blade. "I really don't know but its better than standing atop this huge wall of ice and no the madness is not affecting me." Calyx lied he could feel it seeping in to him clawing at the very edges of his mind screaming for him to let loose and destroy all those who approach him. "Soul Resonance: Wolf's Bane" They said in unison. "HOWL GROWL HOWL GROWL HOWL GROWL HOWL GROWL, SHADOW OF THE WOLF KING, SPEED OF HIS KNIGHT, CLAWS THAT TEAR, fANGS THAT BITE" Calyx said casting a very dangerous and powerful battle spell. "Here we come!" He shouted as he ran down the wall towards the kishin egg. He throw himself foot first at the kishin and missed but ricocheted off the ground to use his momentum to slash with his gunblade partner.

Misaki pinched the bridge of her nose in irritation; she hated feeling any type of pain she couldn’t directly deal with. Her best bet would be to avoid any other irritants so she doesn’t become unnecessarily aggressive. She wouldn’t have to worry about any of the madness in her awakening anytime soon, but she didn’t need it to get violent.

The meister noticed a glance from her troubled partner; she flashed a quick smile to convince her she was alright. Feeling Noir tugging her arm away, Misaki loosened her grip so she could pull out; even though she said she was fine, that was obviously not the case. “Alright I guess; we’ll see if that crazy man answers.” Misaki smiled lightly and grabbed the mirror Noir handed to her. Misaki fogged up the mirror and proceeded to write on the mirror, “42-42-564 whenever you want to knock on Death’s door…” She cringed as she recited the silly rhyme, it wasn’t necessary but she found herself saying it sometimes.

The glass rippled and a image of Shinigami’s room appeared; the man in question bounced to the screen shortly after. “Ah~ Misaki and Noir, good to see you two are alright. What can I do for you?” He asked in his normal cheery voice. “We called to see if there were any available missions for us, since we’re out here already.” Misaki decided to give her laziness the back seat for today and try to be productive today. Shinigami clapped his big blocky hands together, “There is something, it should prove no difficulty to you two. There have been reports of killings in an area close to where you are, it is most likely a corrupted soul.” And there was their mission, seemed easy enough and would add another soul to their counter. “Now you two be off now and contact me when you’ve completed it.” With that the transmission ended, Misaki held out the mirror to give it back to Noir. “Well there’s our mission.”

Algernon watched the fight for a moment. It seemed the two weapon and meister pairs were having a little trouble, especially since the Kishin had somehow regenerated himself. However, Algernon didn't want to get involved without his partner, Weapons were not very efficient by themselves. Thinking of her made Alge remember she hadn't seemed to feel well and though he was sure she wasn't in any danger the feeling of malevolence would not go away. Abruptly he turned, leaving the two teams with the ice Kishin, and began running to Elia's house to check on her.

"Did we get him?"" Calyx asked as the smoke cleared. "Yeah, but it didn't do any good! Try and sense his soul!" Mal said. "I see Shade and something weird resonating and then nothing where we struck that dude. I've got an idea, I'll cast a fire spell and launch it at him, then hopefully Shade and Anter will get the plan! GROWL HOWL GROWL HOWL GROWL HOWL GROWL HOWL FLAMING FIST OF THE HOWLING MOON!" Calyx said as he summoned flame around his claw. "We're gonna burn you to death and claim your soul!" Mal shouted at the kishin as they ran towards him full speed. "AAAAAAAHHHHHHH, DIE!" he roared as his fist made contact with the blade of Matsura's scythe, "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW, Frostbite." he shrieked as cold rush through the spell and turned his hand black.

Really? Not dead? That's disapointing... I wanted to see his head roll down the street and his body seep blood. Anter doesn't even deserve to kill him now. I want all the glory... in spearing that bastard. The fake Anter thought to himself. He didn't want anyone to know he took over Anter, but Calyx and Malcolm had noticed. I'll deal with them later. They seem that they are starting to figure me out.

Fake glanced at the scythe the kishen held. Killed his partner eh? Well... that sounds like what I want. He glanced over to Malcolm and Calyx, both striking and failing to do so. Both of you fail at life. Why are you trying? You are such dumbasses... Can't you see how this man's goal is to kill you? He will, and that will save me time since I won't need to kill you. Fake thought.

Shade was doing nothing at the moment after the failed slash, so Fake decided to take control. He reverted back to his duel bladed axe, with the spear down the middle. Fake sent the madness down Shade's arm controlling it as soon as it touched it. He raised it and took aim at the kishen. "DIE! LET ME TAKE YOUR SOUL AND RIP YOU TO SHREADS ON THE WAY!!!" Fake screamed in his metallic voice, and shot his spear from the middle of his axe body.

"I knew it!" cal shouted. "Knew what?" Malcolm asked. "Shade, that's not Anter, it's his madness!" he shouted at the battlefield. "Mal try an concentrate you anti-madness wavelength through your blade?" he asked his partner. "SOUL RESONANCE: SONATA OF CLEANSING" they said in unison using a brand new technique. "I cleanse thy soul with the power of music!" Malcolm shouted as "The Moonlight Sonata" rang out of his blade. Calyx swung Mal full force against both the Kishin egg and Anter's handle purifying him and slicing deep into the kishin egg's chest.

Shade smiled at Matsura, who was now wielding a scythe. He readied Anter for another attack but instead, Anter reverted back into his original form and some sort of black aura began covering Shade's arm. "Waah?! GAAAAAAH!" He yelled out as the Fake began pulling his arm upward for another slash at the Kishin. "H-hold on Anter, what the hell are you doing? Shade asked, trying to find out what was happening to Anter. "DIE! LET ME TAKE YOUR SOUL AND RIP YOU TO SHREADS ON THE WAY!!!" He heard Anter yell out in his usual metalic tone, but his voice was much different. A voice of someone who has gone insane. The next thing he knew Calyx shouted something about Anter and madness. All of a sudden a bright light shone from Malcolm's blade. It appeared to diteriate the aura that was covering his arm, as well as the aura surrounding Anter. At the same time, the light had destroyed the ice clone Kishin. However the scythe still remained, but dissapeared within seconds after the fake was demolished. "What the hell's goin on Anter?!" Shade yelled out at the weapon, while shaking him rapidly in his hand even though Anter was too big for any normal person to do with one hand. "You never told me you could send out black energy waves that enchant things! You been holding out on me or somethin?!" A few seconds later he heard a loud voice in the distance. "Hey, is that a witch down there? YOHOOOOOOOOOO!" Shade turned to see his role model drop right in front of him. "No way it Black*Star!" He yelled out in awe. "This is him Anter. Isn't he awesome!? YOHOO-" He was once again knocked into the ground creating several small crack in it, for using Black*Star's battlecall. "Hey brat, what did I tell you about that?" Black*Star loomed over him with a death intent. Shade mearily shook it off, and stood back up within a second. "Mr. Black*Star, guess what. I learned how to make a Big Wave just like you!" He smiled with joy, at his minor accomplishment. "A pretty small one if you ask me." He heard Malcolm comment in the background. "Uruse! Bigger then you could ever do Loverboy!" Shade yelled back, annoyed. "Hey, you wanna see what a real bigwave is like?" Black*Star asked Shade with an evil intent. "Of course, it would mean the world to me if-" Shade then crashed into a wall big a giant soul energy wave with medium-sized brown orb-like figures floating around inside it, while Black*Star shouted. "BLACK*STAR BIG WAVE!" Shade had a look of somewhat-consiousness, and surprise on his face. "So...Cool......." He murmured, falling to the ground, dropping Anter on the pavement, and reseaving a few stuck-up, mocking laughs from Black*Star. "KYAHAHAHAHA, thats the oldest trick in the book kid! You still have a million years to go before you can achieve my greatness!"

~Dr. Stein and Spirit

As the glass of the mirror reacquired its reflective surface, Spirit sidled up behind Dr. Stein. "Ooh, what was that kiss all about?" He taunted. "Shut up unless you want to die." Franken responded, pushing his glasses higher onto his nose, light reflecting off of the lenses. "Well," he continued, changing the subject back to the task at hand. "I'm glad we're getting partners for this." "Yeah," Spirit agreed, "Medusa's wasn't the most inviting place to be, it's a good thing B.J. will be doing the excavating." With that, the pair headed for the library where research could be done.

As Algernon reached Elia's house he slowed down. He could see that the door was open and that Elia was still standing in the doorway. He approached cautiously, sensing tension. "Hey, Elia," he called quietly. "Are you all right?"

~The Soul Reaver
The day was just beginning and some of the students were already in a second battle, this one with a Kishin. The laughing sun ignored the goings-on below, preferring to laugh at its defeat over the moon that was now so far away. It did not notice, nor did it care about the soul that was being consumed on the other side of the city.
Jorma licked her fingers, making sure to get every juicy drop of the young girl's soul. The girl had been a student of the academy and was heading to her first class of the day. She had been polite to Jorma, asking her if she needed directions. Jorma had not responded, simply slayed the girl where she stood. The girl had had no time to react. Jorma looked around but there was no one else to be had. She started moving slowly to the East, intending to circle Death City in a spiral. The academy was at the centre and Jorma looked forward to the feast. But she paced herself. Picking off people on the outskirts of town instead of going directly to the centre, that way there would be less resistance in the final battle.
