Setting

The building burned two years ago, due to a gas explosion in a Chemistry mishap. It took about 57 students and 7 teachers to their deaths, with only a handful escaping with serious burns. This building is located at the most farthest place in campus to the south, it is behind the main building, but the school had trees planted to block the building from view more.

Students are not allowed here under circumstances because it is dangerous. Seniors usually spend the night here as a test of some kind. It is rumored to be haunted by the spirits of those who died here.

When entering, only the first room is able to get access since the rest is blocked by fallen debris. But it is possible to get through deeper into the building...what lies more inside?

Ryuka had decided to hide in the next room she found. It was covered in broken glass yes,but of course it allowed more light from the moon to shine in. It was comforting in a way. With a sigh, she leaned quietly against the wall. It wasn't as dirty as one would expect. She flicked off her flashlight, thinking to save the battery. She didn't understand this place...It was scary yes, but why did she agree to it? She could have just thought up of a new challenge instead of sleeping over here...What had possessed her to do that? With another sigh, she checked her watch. It wouldn't be that long until they found the cloths. It wasn't hard to tell that Ryuka was afraid of what hides in the dark here.

Hvor lenge vil du velge å forbli uvitende? a voice asked.

The girl blinked and looked around. Had she imagined that? She shivered a bit because she felt cold fear grip at her for a split second. She probably did imagine it but why in a language she hadn't heard before? But...She could understand it perfectly. It had said "How long will you choose to remain oblivious?". Oblivious? Like in denial of the ghosts here? She frowned slightly as she pondered it. What had cause her to think that.

"Fordi du er jeg, og jeg er du ...." it responded back.

She jumped at it and looked around wildly. Ryuka didn't like it...whatever it was... She bit the bottom of her lip, making the decision to leave and get the hell out of this room. Just as she was about to open the door, the door slid open. "Ah!" She exclaimed, jumping backwards. Through the moon light, she could see it was Kayama Shinjiro. She let out a sigh of relief. She saw him holding 3 white cloths. They were really easy to find after all. She took them and offered an uneasy smile to the senior. "Sorry Kayama-kun...I didn't expect you to be there...Good job in finding it though! It was really easy huh?" She laughed a bit and scratched the back of her head slightly. She was still flustered from earlier...yet it was quiet now. "Because thou art I, and I am thou..." What did that mean? She lowered her gaze slightly, looking down at her shoes.

Mai eyed the cake enviously, "Cake huh?... M'sure she'll appreciate that... That's pretty impressive though, a master swordsman -and- a cook." She gave a wink to her senior before nodding in agreement with her sentiment on Ryuka's preferred hiding spots. And so without any hesitation Mai followed behind Enya into the dark corridors in search for the hidden scraps of cloth. It really didn't take long for them to scrounge together two scraps, then a third, and a fourth. In total they would only need two more, but it was at this point that it had started to become more difficult to find them.

She crossed her arms as they concluded looking through another empty room. "Guess most of them have been collected by now... I'd like get these collected quickly so the Prez doesn't have to keep hiding out by herself." She tilted her head from side to side a few times as she thought, "Maybe we should just have you turn in three, I mean, I'm not even a senior so I don't think it's too big a deal if I don't complete the challenges." She gave a smile as she presented this new plan to Enya, she would've liked to have completed herself too but she liked the idea of being done with this little creepy hunt more.

Enya looked at the young junior, giving her a slight smile. “Who knows what else I'm capable of?” She teased with a slight air of the gossiping girl she was supposed to act. Really, hiding how you felt had become so second nature to Enya, it almost sickened her. “ There wouldn't have been any point for us to team up if only one of us could advance. Either both of us go, or none.” She said with a reassuring smile.

It looks like people had had the same idea Enya had, and had been checking the windows. 'Alright Enya, you gotta think.' She said, and closed her eyes. 'I'm Ryuka... I'm a fraidy cat when it comes to ghosts, and have hidden items lying around. I can't just leave them in small places like that, because it's my job to hide them and make them look... so I would do the opposite and hide them in an area that's pitch dark, yet close enough to a source of light where I could dash in and dash out. I place like that would have to be... a drawer in a school desk. In the main room, no one would think of looking there because that's where we're sleeping.”

Enya's eyes popped open with a smile. “Clever little Prez.” She said, walking into the main room and going to the corner, where all the desks were piled enough. After examing them, there was indeed a drawer that looked like it could open easily... and Enya found one. “Allright! There was a desk in the other room too!” She said. A short moment later, she was rewarded with her third.

'Briser les sceaux qui vous lient, et appelez-moi'

Enya blinked, turning around. She knew that language. That was french. No doubt about that. She shook her head, ignoring her moment of craziness. 'Now then, if I was the Prez... i'd hide somewhere close by. Let's check the nearby rooms.” She said and, sure enough, found the Prez talking with someone. She handed her the cloth, as well as the cake slice. “Here you go, Prez! His will keep your spirits up!”

Ryuka blinked and looked up, as Kayama said he would stay in the room with. She shot him a grateful smile, and said "Thanks...It's really creepy here..." Ryuka couldn't get that voice out of her head. It had came out of nowhere, and it wasn't even Japanese...it was some other language she had never heard before in her life. A frown played on her lips,as she thought about it more...until she heard it again.

Slipp meg ut! It said.

Ryuka looked around wildly, as she heard it again, a panicked look crossing her features briefly. Where the hell was that coming from?! It wasn't from Kayama-kun, who had gone into the corner to listen to his own thing, and it better not be a ghost messing with her...She shivered once again, as fear gripped at her. Though she let out a surprised gasp as more people came in.

The other girls had just walked in. She took the cloths with nod and just stared blankly at the piece of cake that was held in front of her, processing what it was for a moment. Blinking, she looked back at Enya. "Oh...Thanks..." She offered back an uneasy smile as she took the cake. She checked he rwatch. they still had to wait for the other seniors to find their cloths, and honestly, Ryuka just wanted to leave already. Voices in her head? No thank you, she did not sign up for that....Though... that voice had just said Let me out...She shivered again and shook her head to get rid of the thoughts.

"Sorry Kayama-kun...I didn't expect you to be there...Good job in finding it though! It was really easy huh?"

The blue haired president stood in front of him, his body stood higher than her. She was standing in front of the door, presumably that she was about to open the door too when Kayama opened it first. He looked at the president, accepting his cloth but staring down on her shoes later. It was obvious that she had something in mind, however, Kayama know full well that he shouldn't intrude her privacy and whatever's on her mind. If it was him, he would have gotten mad at whoever tried to pry further into the troubles in his mind.

"I'll wait in the room with you, if you want to. I have nothing else to do until everyone comes returning their cloth anyway." As he said, on the opposite of the room was the red haired girl, Enya and her partner, Mairu, the orange haired girl with her usual cheery attitude. She handed the six pieces of cloth in her hand to the absent-minded Ryuka along with a slice of cake. Kayama assumed that the cake slice was something cheer the afraid Ryuka, who they must have knew to have been extremely scared in this gloomy room. "A slice of cake, huh? I wonder if it will actually cheer her up. Well, I don't know how the girl's mind work, so no use trying to ask."

Spotting nice place to sit down, he laid down and plugged in his MP3 player. Randomly selecting a music, he proceeded to closing his eyes and drifted off into a light sleep, with his music accompanying him.

Ryuka sighed as she checked the time. The time limit had passed and she was a bit disappointed. Was this challenge really that long? Shrugging it off, she looked at the other students inside the room with her. "Okay, times up now. We'll go upstairs right now, since it's getting late." With that, she swallowed at the end, and felt her stomach do flips in her stomach. It was too much. She didn't want to go upstairs...it was probably more hanted and creepy and gross and dirty..and so on. Her mind was felt like it was spinning from the thought of it. Shaking her head, she drew in a breath. Giving the other seniors a smile she pointed out and headed out, a bit stiffly though.

When she reached the stair case, she gulped. It was blocked by a yellow caution tape, that would usually stop someone who followed the rules such as her...but this time she knew she had to break it. "Here goes..." She thought in her mind, as she lifted up the yellow tape and slipped through. It was dark in the stair case, so she flicked on her flashlight, and looked around inside the staircase. She shuddered a bit and sighed. She could do this...she just had to belie-was that a bug?! She felt a bug crawl over her shoe!

Dammit! She shouted, and ran up the stairs to the second floor, stopping at the top to wait for the otehrs as she tried to keep her stomach from flipping over.

"Dammit!"

Shouted the scared president as she ran up the stairs. The creaks the wooden stairs made as she stomped her way up just made the travel a bit more dangerous as the probability of the stairs breaking any moment has just increased. While Kayama was focused on his songs, trying his best to remember the lyrics of his songs, the shout and stomps brought him back to reality. He looked up and saw the blue-haired president trying to catch her breath, holding her stomach. He slightly clicked his tongue as he followed suit after the president, quickening his pace and reached the top in no time at all.

Stepping onto the boards of the second floor, he found himself in an extremely gloomy area, lit only by Ryuka's flashlight. Some of the windows were shattered, however, those that were, was blocked by the mountains of rubble pilling up against it. Closing his player and taking off his earphones, he shoved them into his left pocket and in the right lower pocket, he pulled out a rather small and very portable flashlight and switched it on. The light it released was strong for a small flashlight, and Kayama's vision in the room brightened a bit thanks to it.

However, just as the others were walking up the stairs, he felt something; both malicious and attracting. He felt as if there was... a dark force... around them, spying on them. Everywhere he turned he had a feelings that eyes were locked onto the ground and that their hunger to consume them was growing larger and larger. Obviously, something held them back, but the fact that he felt something looking at them was weird.

At the same time, there was... something... somewhere... that was calling him. As if it was begging him to go, and coincidentally, he had a feeling that he should go there. It seemed to be a very logical choice since the other entity is perhaps much more dangerous than this something.

After knowing that everyone had came upstairs, he took the lead and followed his instinct; to where that 'call' was coming from. If the group decided to not follow him, he didn't care. Somehow, he knew he had to get there or he would get into more trouble than he need to have already.

"What... is this feeling? I feel like... it's calling me..."

Ryuka let out a depressed sigh, as her breathing came back under control. Seriously, this wasn't good for her health...it felt like it was slowly getting rid of her life. It didn't feel safe up here, she had that feeling that something was watching them...though it could just be her imagination getting the better of her, after all this place was the epitome of what she hated. Creepy haunted place plus bugs? No thank you. She shined her flashlight more towards the window, noticing the rubble that blocked it, and the glass that was scattered on the ground. Ryuka frowned, as she wondered what this building looked like if it wasn't in ruins. Surely it would have been a nice building...someplace that wasn't completely creepy.

As she was about to walk forward, figuring the rest would catch up, Kayama went ahead of her. He had a small flashlight in his hands, so it did provide more light in the dark building. It didn't make it any less creepy though. A frowned danced on her lips as she let out a shudder. Paranoia...it was only in her mind...was what she wanted to believe. After all, she didn't want anything, and that means anything to show up. She glanced behind her, and back at Kayama's figure as he walked down the hall. She followed behind him quietly.

As she walked behind him, the silence was honestly killing her. She didn't like it here. As they walked down the halls it felt as if it was getting more and more dangerous for some reason, though she couldn't figure out why. "Um...Kayama-kun? Do you have any idea where your going?" It was a stupid question, yes since they were walking down a pretty straight path. But for some reason, he looked like he was looking for something.

"Um...Kayama-kun? Do you have any idea where your going?"

He could barely hear what Ryuka said. He was giving his all trying locate the source of the call, yet no matter how much he walked, it keeps going further and further away, as if it was running away desperately from them. He swung his flashlight left and right every now and then, hoping that he might find something with the same feeling as what he had been chasing, but all he found was more rubble and broken glass.

The further into the halls they walked, the more eyes he felt was staring on the group. The pure menace of the darkness was slowly creeping up on them, but again, no matter how he tried to look, there was nothing. There was no "eyes" in the darkness when he directed the light onto the darkness. There was no "thing" that made him feel attracted to it. There was only countless of rubble and darkness.

However, just as he had hoped nothing would happen, something did. Right when he was looking at the hall that branched to the right, he swore that something was definitely looking at them. What's more, it's right ahead. Reacting to his instinct, he turned the flashlight to in front of him, and found the same creature that attacked him standing right in front of him again. But, there was something different about it this time. It felt as if it was stronger this time, with a larger hunger for him and a bigger blood thirst.

Behind the hallway it blocked, was the it's kin appearing from walls. Countless of the same creature crawled their way out of the walls and ceiling. Some of them didn't even have certain parts, but there was only one thing that it all had; the same thirst to kill. Knowing it's already dangerous to fight one of them, Kayama knew that the same miracle won't happened again. He quickly grabbed the president who was following closely behind him by the wrist and took a turn into the right.

"Just keep on running! Don't look back!" Shouted the running Kayama while lighting their paths ahead of them. Along the halls they ran, whenever there was a path splitting, there are either rubble blocking their path of those same creatures again. They had ran for quite a while now, and the group was already trying to catch their breathe. However, at the end, they were completely trapped.

Standing in front of a classroom, both ways was filled with those creature slowly walking their way towards the group lifelessly. He could hear complaints from the others, but he was busy trying to find a way out of this situation, but the only solution was to run into the classroom they stopped in front. "I don't think there's anyway to run now." He thought to himself. He swung open the door and motioned for the others to go in. "Go! Inside the classroom, NOW!" The group went into the room one by one, and after confirming that he's the last, he shut the door nervously and quickly pulled a few tables that weren't stacked and place it in front of the door.

Taking a few steps back, Kayama forgot about his flashlight as it dropped to the ground, pointing at the door's window. Black figures walked around the door, as the group stood in fear, hoping that the creatures won't break down the door. Just as one of them turned and looked into the classroom, the two red eyes was the last thing the group saw as if disappeared into the darkness.

Kayama fell down on his feet and quickly grasp for breath. The continuing incidents were too much for his heart to handle. One after one, supernatural incidents cannot be explained by science has been happening in here. Even if Kayama were to stress that this building was, like they say, "haunted", they would just think he's ill and will just push aside his pleads. He grabbed his flashlight back up and stood up, turning towards the group and the terrified president. He knows that someone has to calm the group down and the pres is just too scared to. He placed the light on a highly stacked table and had the light shone towards the empty classroom. At least like this, it won't look as gloomy anymore.

"I don't know what that is, but I think we will have to stay in here until the coast is really clear." He turned around, looking at the frightened faces and their mouth grasping for breath. This might be too much for them handle, but if they managed to get out of this alive, the pres will probably have the place completely sealed.

"I knew this was bad, but not this bad... Tch..." Mumbling to himself, he looked around the classroom. The light was enough to lit the classroom to actually let anyone see the place better, albeit it's still dark. But, just right around the corner, there was an object shining. He slowly walked over to the object, acting like it he was just walking around casually. What he found was a small pocket mirror with weird engravings on the side. On the mirror reflected his tired face and pres following him from behind, with the others all sitting down in a circle while comforting each other.

"Oh, just a pocket mirror... I wonder who left thi- What the hell?!"

He almost screamed but he stopped himself. On the pocket mirror before was their reflection, but on it now was completely different. Him and the others reflected on the mirror changed themselves into some kind of monsters. There was a blue wolf that replaced the pres, a Valkyrie or some sort that replaced Enya, a sort of fire bird that replaced Mairu and to his surprise, the monster he met before that he felt like himself replaced him.

The pres managed to see what was on the mirror and asked Kayama what's with the mirror. He didn't know himself, but he knows that this meant something. The mirror was not something ordinary. He knows that yet he couldn't believe it. How can these things happen? Shortly after trying to ponder the things going on around him, the pain came back.

That excruciating pain that tortured him when he was searching for the cloths came back. However, this time, it was more painful. He felt like he was in hell. But then, that voice he heard before was more clear this time and even in this state of pain, he could perfectly understand what it was saying. "It seems you have finally found the mirror... It's time for you awaken me, mortal! Awake, and then summon me, mortal!" The pain continued as the voice commanded him. Slowly, his consciousness slips away and before he completely loses it, he could see the others all fainting and the pres falling in front of him later.

"This is why... I can't stand... trips..."

Ryuka sighed as the kendo captain didn't anwser her. It was natural, after all she didn't like the idea of wandering around at night in a haunted building...though that was the thought that had traveled through her mind. She shined her flashlight towards teh front of him, only to see something staring back at her. What was that? She turned around quickly, and saw another one of those thing coming up from behind. She felt her heart stop for a few seconds.

Her legs felt like they couldn't move, and her mind was drawing a blank on what to do. The only thing that caused her to run, was Kayama pulling her along behind him. He shouted something at her,but she couldn't make sense of it. her mind was in a panic, as she forced herself to look forward.

Asthey ran into the room, Ryuka collasped, and had her hand over her heart, as if to stop her heart from beating fast. Her flushed face, and her panting was evidence enough to show she was freaked out beyond compairson. She had never been scared in her life! Those things had just chased them! When this was done and over with, she'll have this place destroyed, wither by a construction crew or by her own hands.

She shot Kayama a grateful look,as he tried to calm down the group, but knew it wouldn't be enough. She stood up shakily, and went by the door, peering out the window of the door. Those things...lurked a bit for awhile before disappearing. They wouldn't be able to get out at least for awhile. Not that she wanted to.

She watched as Kayama walked over to a table topick something shining up. She followed quietly, then looked into it. She saw a blue wolf instead of her self. Eyes Widening, she spoke out.

"Kayama-kun...that mirrors not right..." She trailed off before a painful wave shot through her head. She dropped on her knees, as she clutched her head. The earlier voice came back and spoke.

"Come to Tayles! Summon me out now!" It cried out.

She grunted in pain, and through half-lidded eyes, she fell down fully, not before noticing Kayama falling to the ground.

It was all quite a blur, fear and adrenaline have rather potent effects on the body and the mind. The feeling of being hunted and unsafe was enough to propel Mai through the halls behind her seniors who seemed to be equally uncertain of what exactly was happening in this old abandoned building. Before she knew it they were in a classroom that was for some reason deemed safe, though Mai wasn't convinced of this she felt compelled to simply stay and follow the suit of her seniors.

The Prez and one of the boys she hadn't gotten the name of seemed to have discovered something in the room, an old pocket mirror. The boy was intent on retrieving the small item, and just as Mai was moving up to her feet to check it out as well he shouted out and almost as quickly seemed to just pass out, the Prez quickly falling as well. Though she wanted to scream all that came out was a gasp as she bolted towards the two limp bodies, she however would only make it about half-way through the room, brought to her knees by a ringing pain in her ears and in her head, a garbled voice speaking what sounded like gibberish to her dominated all of her focus as it rang out in her mind.

The gibberish slowly seemed to turn into something that sounded like language, but not one Mai had ever heard. The voice also didn't seem to be something threatening or dangerous, it almost sounded to be pleading with her. Mai shook her head fiercely and the voice began to fade, as did the pain and disorientation. In its place however was the strange feeling that she should go look at the mirror as well. After heaving a deep breath Mai rose to her feet and approached the small mirror, her hand visibly shaking as she reached out to take it. With just a moment's hesitation she fixed her gaze upon the reflective surface, but what stared back at her was most certainly not her. What she saw were flames, but it was more than that, the flames had a shape resembling a large bird of prey. "Wha?..." That was all she could muster before darkness overtook her vision and she fell to the floor unconscious.

She woke with a groan a few moments later, struggling through some lingering pains to move on to her knees. She felt a sharp pain through her head as she looked upon the alien and barren landscape around her, her gaze lingering on the red moon in the otherwise pitch-black sky. After spending several moments collecting herself she finally moved up to her feet and began scanning the area desperately for any sign of the Prez or that other boy. The place was barren, there wasn't a soul in sight... The only thing out of place that she had spotted was a strange blue door in the distance. Lacking much of any other direction she began her way towards the solitary door. It felt like she was walking forever, but she finally arrived at the door and reached out towards the handle, taking hold of it and swinging the door open with no small deal of force.

Her eyes shut instinctively as a bright light enveloped her vision, but as the light faded and her vision returned she found herself in some sort of arena. At this point she didn't even bat an eye at the odd transition, considering everything else that happened this day. Immediately the presence of a large blue wolf caught her attention, the wolf however seemed to be preoccupied with something else... That something else being the Prez, standing over the unconscious body of the boy from before. "Wha... What's going on here?!" She wasn't sure Ryuka would have any answers for her but she had to ask. She felt her hands ball into fists, she wanted to feel relieved at finding them but all she felt was... Angry, confused, upset. Why were they here? Was this the President's plan all along? "Tell me! Why did you drag us here?!" As she shouted and seethed an incredibly hot and dry gust of wind poured through the arena. Her usual cold blue eyes were usurped by a burning red as the fiery form of her Phoenix burst into existence behind her.

The Phoenix let out a loud screech as Mai raised her hand to point at Ryuka, "I'm going to make you pay for this! I won't let you get away with all this selfishness! AGI!" As the strange word left her mouth flames billowed forth from Phoenix' mouth towards Ryuka.
