''Death has come for so many.. I'll try to prevent yours..''

a character in “Ship of Legend”, as played by tornadofan2

Description

Image
Full Name: Black Shuck||Death Hound (Call him however you want)
Age: Has no particular age.
Gender: Has no particular gender.
Appearance: A huge black dog with eyes that glow yellow or red, seeing this dog signals a death within the year. Also described as a dog the size of a horse with one burning eye in the center of its forehead. For centuries, inhabitants of England have told tales of a large black dog with malevolent flaming eyes (or in some variants of the legend a single eye) that are red or alternatively green. They are described as being 'like saucers'. According to reports, the beast varies in size and stature from that of simply a large dog to being the size of a calf or even a horse. Sometimes Black Shuck is recorded as having appeared headless, and at other times as floating on a carpet of mist.
However, more often than not, stories tell of Black Shuck terrifying his victims, but leaving them alone to continue living normal lives; in some cases it has supposedly happened before close relatives to the observer die or become ill.

''He takes the form of a huge black dog, and prowls along dark lanes and lonesome field footpaths, where, although his howling makes the hearer's blood run cold, his footfalls make no sound. You may know him at once, should you see him, by his fiery eye; he has but one, and that, like the Cyclops', is in the middle of his head. But such an encounter might bring you the worst of luck: it is even said that to meet him is to be warned that your death will occur before the end of the year. So you will do well to shut your eyes if you hear him howling; shut them even if you are uncertain whether it is the dog fiend or the voice of the wind you hear. Should you never set eyes on our Norfolk Snarleyow you may perhaps doubt his existence, and, like other learned folks, tell us that his story is nothing but the old Scandinavian myth of the black hound of Odin, brought to us by the Vikings who long ago settled down on the Norfolk coast'' -W. A. Dutt, in his 1901 Highways & Byways in East Anglia

Race: Black Dog. Also known as Shuck, Old Shuck, Black Shuck, Black Hound, Bungay Dog, Barguest, Cu Sith, and Black
Powers: Is that to be able to look into the future.
Personality: It is hard to say the personality, for he has a changing one. But, for the most, the dog is gentle and silent, making no sound at all, sometimes saying words of wisdom, telling the person what the future has in mind for that particular person.
But, changing he is, he can attack in a sudden flash and there will be no warning. He can go angry in less than a second and attack viscously. He is mean and aggressive.
But also, the dog is strange and mysterious, some say only appearing and seen when the person will die that very same year, no matter at what point. Though, he is a bit different. He tries to prevent some people of dying and will give the person advice how to prevent it.
But mostly calm, it sometimes acts like an old man, full of wisdom. Telling stories about the past and the future, it can be interesting, but be careful, you never know what can happen.
Likes:
-Small children
-Old people
-Dogs
-Animals

Dislikes: The only thing this creature is afraid of is Death Itself, although it is not said why. It absolutely hates ignorant people, people who do not listen, people who have no respect, war, fighting and loud noises.
Skills: He isn’t good in anything particular.
History: Has no particular history.
Other: Opposum Vendetta

The creatures are gathered in their main meeting hall that stands above the hull of the ship where the most dangerous of creatures sleeps waiting to have a sniff or human flesh to awaken. The last of the humans that had been lost on the ship all died eaten by other creatures or suicided themselves by fear of being eaten. Some creatures are still licking their lips and some are wondering when some more humans will be coming around . . . but other creatures are mourning the loss of the humans they could not guide out of the ship. . . .
Important note:: Traveling through the ship is remembering the doors, every door has a different appearance and leads to a different room but the doors are like portals that appear anywhere on the ship. I will be posting different doors when you reach a dead end and it will be up to you to choose the one you want, but you might want to remember what it looks like because you don't want to end up in the same place twice. . .

Alpes the Griffin

Alpes was lying down in a small open air shaft at a far corner of the the meeting hall bustling with creatures that were laughing and mourning. Alpes didn't really know what to do except watch the creatures around him, he hadn't tried to help the humans nor had he tried to hunt them down, he had mostly just slept through the whole 'game' as some creatures called it.

"What's wrong with you Alpes?" A Pixie flew up in front of his face, "You didn't even try hunting a human down this time. Usually, you're the first to catch one."

"I wasn't interested that's all," his response made a lot of the creatures laugh but he just closed his eyes and ignored them, plus, he really didn't like the sight of the Pixie in front of him.

Luca Valliat

Luca walked by the park like he always did then he closed his eyes and walked through the streets of the port thank to the images he kept in his mind. He never forgot a part of the streets he knew exactly where there was a slight bump where he had to lift his foot a little higher so he wouldn't trip, he knew when to take a turn, but this time he ran into a wall.
That's impossible! I know exactly where I - Luca rubbed his nose then stood idly before a hidden part of the docks he had never come to.
There was a dragon headed ship right in from of his, it was huge and beautiful bu he had never seen it here before. IT was definitely new or else Luca would have remembered it. Luca took a few steps toward it but then was stopped by a man covered in black; a black cloak, black gloves, a big black scarf, a black hat, black round glasses, etc. . . Luca looked up at the very tall man for a little while before the man stepped aside and presented Luca the entrance of the ship with a polite sign with his arm and a short bow.

"Um. . . thank you?" Luca slowly walked up the ramp of the ship and went through the large red door with carvings of dragons and faeries and all sorts of different creatures on it. When the door closed behind him it was pitch black and the door was gone, "Hello?"

No sound, no sound at all, not even that of breathing, was heard of a black dog-like creature in a far corner of the meeting hall for the creatures. It seemed to have no eyes, or if it had, they must have been closed, and it sat still, not moving, not even seeming to breath. He was listening to the spirits around, and looking into the future to see where to be whenever one of the humans came along and should be attacked by one of the creatures. His kind mostly showed signes of dying that very same year, but he was to prevent it.

Something seemed to glow from his head, two pair of eyes seemed to appear at once, glowing a faint red, it was. It had opened his eyes for the first time in a while. He had mourned for the humans who died, and listened to the spirits and looked into he future. Creatures as he, and all the other creatures, shouldn't kill humans. They all shared the world, and killing wasn't the option. But, on the other hand, this was also killing for food.

The black dog stretched his legs and got up. His eyes still glowing red, he started making his way towards the large wooden door that would lead towards a black room where the humans first came when they entered the boat. Yes, he came for that, the humans who had entered the boat. He wanted to protect the humans, and not watch them being eaten, no, not this time. He was sure he would protect them this time, even if he had to kill the other creatures for it, no, not this time, not those humans, and not again. He wanted peace, not see blood flow and watched how the creatures feasted on the humans and their flesh. No, he didn't want that this time.

As he made his way to the door, he was careful not to alert other creatures. It helped that he was plainly black, he wasn't noticed that easily. He nudged the door open and walked through it, and watched it vanish behind him. Than, he sat down and looked around the black room. He could easily see in the black room, that wasn't hard. He had already noticed some humans discovering other doors, two seemed already to have found the gaming hall, and yet another the library, but Alpes was already there, so he didn't need to go there. He looked at the others and sighed softly. ''Why did you enter?'' he asked himself softly.

The black dog made his way towards the gaming hall. He could always keep an eye on those two, to make sure no creatures would try to eat them. As he opened the door, he quickly walked in, than watched the door close and looked at the two humans. He made his way to a corner and sat down, than stayed silent.
