Jane Watkins

Ensign in the Elmish Aircore

0 · 375 views · located in Aresia

a character in “Shipwrecked”, as played by Irish Wolf

Description

Jane is an athletic girl, being five feet and five inches tall. Her auburn hair are cut shorter then the social norm for young woman, coming to top of her shoulders and tightly braided to fit under a helmet. She has a pleasant oval shaped face, with a mouth always ready to smile, a small nose and a pair of bright green eyes. Like those other soldiers, who ride the gryphons, she does have a tan, although it is not as dark or permanent, as say, Major Griffith.

As Jane is on a mission for the crown, she is dressed in her campaign dress, which consists of; a white shirt, blue jacket with red facings, gray trousers with red strips down the outer seams, black riding boots, leather gloves and a leather helmet with a bearskin strip down the middle.

Personality

Jane is one of those rowdy gryphon riders, who distress Major Griffith. Like the rest of her “classmates”, she’s more then ready to drink, gamble and get into a fight, if her friends are too.

Equipment

Light cavalry saber
Two light dragoon flintlock pistols
Flintlock carbine
Gryphon
Tack and saddle for gryphon
Canteen
Two extra uniforms

History

Jane was born to sister of the soon to be General Alexander Wolfe and spend the first few years of her life in the Elmish country side on her father’s estate. When she was six, her uncle Alex came to visit, riding on his gryphon. The little girl was entranced by the creature and near the end of his visit, Colonel Wolfe mentioned to his brother-in-law that the Elmish Aircore had many unridden beasts, because they would only accept female riders. Her mother was horrified at the suggestion but her father (who was having some troubles with his debts) was interested.

Two years later, after her father made a deal to get half of Jane’s pay (her mother didn’t know of this) until she was an adult, the young girl was admitted into the aerie her uncle used as a headquarters. Over the next eight years, she became just as rambunctious as her classmates and earned her way to the rank of ensign. Her first assignment as an officer in the Aircore? Supervise the transport of gryphons to Ulsttor with Major Griffith. She is more then half sure her uncle is trying to keep her out of the real war.

So begins...
