"Right now, burn your soul neck or nothing, burn it out till you're losing your reason, forget the stoned reason to drive it."

a character in “Sinner's Circus”, as played by SkyCladSaya06

Description

Image
Name: Rin Nakahara
"Rin will do. No need for honorifics either."

Age: 19 (before death)
"I still remember. I remember it like it was yesterday."

Gender: Female
"Oh boy--here we go again."

Theme Song: Bre@th//less - Sawano Hiroyuki performed by Mika Kobayashi
"Even though my body's shaking, I'll give it all, deadly bumping, Cuz you make me feel-- Breathless

Side: (Circus/Synchronicity)
"That's life, I guess."

Role: Diligence
"Honestly, it's not that hard to achieve."

Personality: Rin is quite an anti-social girl who likes to keep to herself. She is very hard to approach and seemingly doesn't enjoy engaging in any form of light conversation. She can come off as snobbish to other people, which stems from being the black sheep of the family. She can also get frustrated easily though, she prefers not to be too vocal about it, and again, keep it all to herself out of fear that she'll be seen in a negative light.

Generally reeking of negative attitudes, one redeeming factor for her is her diligence. She constantly strives to improve herself in all her endeavors, picking herself up quickly after a fall. This has qualified her as a Spirit of Diligence. In battle, she is rather calm and isn't quick to crack under pressure, allowing her to analyze things through though, she can get overboard sometimes. She also has a high tolerance of authority, opting to follow rather than lead.

Image
Appearance: Rin has thin, short, pale blue swaying hair with a tuft tied up on both sides of her forehead and indigo colored eyes. She is also rather average, standing at 5'3'' and weighs around 45 kg, thanks to her small frame. She wears a military jacket and a white muffler during battles.

History: Rin has had a rather, weird history prior to becoming an Entity.

She was born into a family who has a long tradition of serving in the Armed Forces. She was the middle child of a family of five, consisting of her father, mother, older brother, her and her younger brother. As an only girl in a military family, she has grown up quite detached from the rest, being seen as a "black sheep" of sorts though, she doesn't really harbor any ill will towards them. Thanks to that, her brothers are always the ones in the spotlight, her achievements going unnoticed for a long time.

Soon, her eldest brother was supposed to continue the family tradition by entering into military school but, chose not to go due to having a different goal in mind, much to the dismay of her father. Seeing this as a chance, Rin stepped up and entered on his behalf. Life was hard for her, with Rin constantly struggling to keep up with the other students. Even there, she wasn't special or exceptional. She was just an average cadet.

During one of their sessions, a fight broke out between them and a bunch of insurgents. Whether they were from the notorious Sinner's Circus or some other group, no one knows. Their school managed to repel the attack but, it was not a battle without casualties and Rin was among those unfortunate souls. It was in that moment as she was lying at the balance between life and death that she heard a voice, calling her to become an Entity. Wanting a second shot at life, she accepted, leaving her old shell forever.

This reason makes her look down on herself as she only took up the good fight for selfish reasons and not really because she wants to vanquish the negative side of the city. Knowing this fact, she still strives to do her task if only for the gratitude that she was given a second chance.

Insignia: A white lynx silhouette, on a crescent moon background.

Weapons and Abilities:

Overview: Thanks to her small frame, Rin isn't too much of a physical fighter who can match the more experienced Entities punch for punch. Instead, she relies heavily on the skills she learned when she was alive along with a combination of speed, stealth and tactics to push through. She also has very little knowledge of magic that she can use to save her skin so, she has to use other unorthodox approaches when fighting. Thanks to a rather wealthy catalyst or Child, as they call them, she has access to equipment that suits her style best.

Her fighting style is that of a soldier, as mirrored by her past life. While she isn't exactly exceptional as a student, she does strive to improve her skill through consistent training. She isn't adept at close-quarters combat so, she prefers to keep her distance and use guns. Her accuracy rating is currently at 57%.

Her Weapons:
Savage 110 BA - A bolt-action, sniper/tactical rifle she uses during long, planned campaigns. It has a free-floating, fluted heavy barrel that improves her accuracy by providing more stability and less vibrations after shots. If needed, she can replace its regular scope with a night-vision telescopic one. It can carry up to five rounds in each magazine. Due to Entities being immune to normal, human weapons, she uses modified .338 Lapua Magnum cartridges that can inflict moderate to fatal damage depending on the part hit as well as giving her an effective range of 1,500 meters. Due to the weapon's weight and length, it is not a piece of equipment that she has all the time.

She carries two different pistols with her and comprises her main armament.

Beretta Px4 Storm - Her main arm. She opted for this model due to its weight, wide array of customizing options and magazine capacity (20 bullets). It uses modified .45 ACP bullets with high penetration and less power making it perfect for confined terrain and tight spaces. She can fire this with only one hand but, her accuracy isn't that great as compared to firing it with two.

S&W Model 686 - Her alternative arm. In a large scale, rural setting, this revolver is her weapon of choice despite the handicap brought by a smaller magazine (6 shots). It is armed with modified .357 magnum cartridges with stronger power, making it perfect for hard targets as well as an 8-inch barrel for better accuracy. Due to the noise and recoil, it is better used in wider spaces.

Long and Short Wakizashi - Replacing the M-9 bayonet as Rin's mainstay melee weapons, these short katanas are more efficient in holding off swords as compared to the M-9. The two she carries differ in length with one measuring a full 24 inch and the other a mere 15 inches. It has been enhanced to be able to take a blow from a .300 at 700 meters without breaking.

Earrings of Solitude - A pair of earrings Izumi crafted for her that erases her aura from the area. Similar to Astraea's Deletion ability and remains active as long as Rin still has the earrings on.

Type-RG equipment - Alternate weapon sets that Rin acquired after returning to Sacred Drive. Other guns are now available for her use, depending on the situation. Set contains a Walther WA 2000 (Sniper), an MP5A3 Submachine Gun (SMG), a Steyr AUG (Rifle) and a Calico M960.

Magic: - Rin developed the least in this aspect. This is due to the fact that her contract isn't an exchange of blood or life force. Her magic is rather simple but practical.

Active Cloaking - By bending people's perception, she can make her carried weapons appear invisible for as long as she keeps it up. It is immediately dispelled if someone touches the guns, including herself.

Search Eye - A scanning spell on her eyes. It works like heat vision though, she can only use it to detect metallic items. In short, she is practically a walking metal detector.

.357 Agni - Rin's most powerful ability in her arsenal. It is the embodiment of her very essence as an Entity, allowing it to exert power and overcome the limitations of conventional weapons. Designed specifically to counter high-mana magic users, spells and mana circuits hit with this bullet overworks itself, forcing a temporary shutdown, since circuits are created with that lock in order to prevent itself from overloading and causing damage to the body of the user. It is loaded on the 686 most of the time although, Rin had crafted a .338 and a .300 version to be used with her sniper rifles.

Trivia:
  • Rin's insignia is a modified version of the insignia found on the unit that trains them back at her military school: Arctic Lynx.
  • The nature of Rin and Izumi's contract is an exchange of magic for knowledge and resource. Due to this, Rin automatically receives some knowledge about the modern world as perceived by Izumi. Their resource exchange is the reason why Izumi is obligated to buy Rin the stuff she needs. And wants.
  • An unknown amount of time has elapsed after her resurrection as an Entity so, her family may or may no longer be alive. She no longer wants to know or find out since, this would at least keep them out of trouble if they were alive. Currently, she resides in Izumi Kimura's house.
  • Her lack of knowledge about magic probably makes her the weakest among the Synchronicity members in terms of raw power.
  • She constantly tries to improve her accuracy rating but, hasn't risen yet for a while.
  • Her face claim is Sinon from Gun Gale Online (Sword Art Online II)

So begins...

Friergate City. It had never been really a quiet city, sounds of murder and crimes springing up left and right in the news. You could never be safe in the alleys, or even in the open- There might always be a killer out after your blood, just hiding in the shadows, hiding in the crowd, hiding anywhere.

"Judgement is upon us! Judgement is upon us, I tell you!"
A man cried, as the policemen dragged him into the car. Some people were looking on at the crazy scene, and the others were just walking by, not minding the frantic screams. Just then the TV turned off.
"Ah, what a bore."
Serpent chucked the remote to god-knows-where, leaning back lazily.
"It's always the same, annoying town crier. What's with them and judgement, anyway?"
She was mostly murmuring to herself, not really talking to anyone in the room. No- Maybe she was talking to everyone in the room. She herself didn't know.
"Why's life so confusing?"

"Yo, Rion. You look like you're about to faint."
Rion froze, hearing her split personality's poisonous voice echo in her head. The frantic yelling from the insane man before her wasn't enough, apparently.
"I-I think I a-am..."
Just then the man grabbed at the front of her shirt, staring up at her with wide, bloodshot eyes.
"Please! You gotta help! Judgement is upon us! We need to escape!"
Just then Rion yelped as she was pulled out of her consciousness immediately. From the outside, the girl's face changed into something much more fierce.
"Yo, old man! Hands off me, will ya?"
Shion pushed him away, grinning as the man started to get dragged away.
"No! You have to understand! You have to UNDERSTAND!!"
Shion turned heel, laughing as she disappeared into one of the alleys. Letting Rion back into her body, the girl shakily leaned against a wall for support.
"You didn't h-have to do that..."
"Of course I did! You were about to faint, poor kid."
Rion just sighed at the statement before murmuring to herself, looking around for any possible Synchronicity members. Maybe they could help her- She was kind of lost in the crowd.

Judging by the scenery slowly sinking into a vibrant orange, the sun had soon reached its zenith in the sky, indicating that it was high noon and was the perfect time for a break. For Izumi, it couldn't have come at a better time.
"Hey, Izumi? Will you accompany us for lunch today?" One of her classmates asked.
"Ah, sorry... I've got some make-up activities I have to attend to. I'll come along next time though."
"Okay. Gee Izumi, this is what you get for like, missing classes for three days straight!" Her other classmate reprimanded her in a friendly way before turning around to leave, waving a hand a Izumi who smiled and waved back. With her friends gone, she grabbed her things and made her way to the door.
"If this was some sort of story from a book or TV, I would be the type who cuts class and transforms into a hero to save the world or something but--"
Sliding the faculty door open, she was immediately greeted by her subject teacher to give her the make-up exams.
"Unfortunately, I'm too commonplace for those sorts of things and have to actually go through make-up exams." Izumi thought of it as she sad down and spilled her wits, trying to finish all of the stuff she missed.

"So, where is Izumi right now? She told me she would be out early but, it's already been twenty minutes and there's still no sign of her." Rin thought to herself as she waited for Izumi to come out from the gates of the school in front of her. Sitting right across the street on a bench beneath an old oak tree, Rin slowly felt the building warmth all over her surroundings, as orange gradually replaced black on the dry pavement in front. The tree was still good so, it was at least able to provide some ventilation for her.
"Judgement! Judgement is upon us!!!"
Rin recalled some weird person chanting that mantra back at a convenience store she visited the last time. She had a sneaking feeling about this. It might just mean that the Circus is back in town again. After her last skirmish with them, she had lost contact with all the members of their own group: Synchronicity. She soon found herself wandering around, coming back to Friergate after some time. For a while, it all seemed uneventful. Until today.
"If the Circus has resumed activity, then it is safe to assume that Synchronicity members might converge here again. If that happens, things are going to be much more complicated for a while."
Rin stood up from her spot and looked all over the place for a moment, taking in everything she sees before chaos sets in. At this point, no one really knows who'll fire the first shots and when they will be taken. In a flash, everything may burn before her eyes. Just like that last time.
"Well, looks like I'm back in the ring again."

Tired of waiting for Izumi to come out, Rin started walking off. She planned on going to some places to kill some time but, she also didn't want to risk coming into contact with any Circus members. Still, it was broad daylight and both sides had to keep their existence a secret so, she doubts if anyone would attack in a place like this.

Along the way, a bunch of children running around passed her. One nearly tripped on her leg but, got up and continued running anyway. Children can be so carefree most of the time. She glanced at where they had come from. It was a park, with a small pond and a majestic, century-old tree in the center. It also hosted a playground. She walked closer to it and realized how much had changed since she returned two years ago. She sat on a bench, next to a rather, well dressed young man, eating away his snack. Observing the people walking by, minding their own business, she slowly mentioned to nobody, in particular.

"They sure are quick to forget huh? Three years ago, people didn't even have the time to enjoy a nice afternoon like this."

"Oh man! Where did Rin go?"
Izumi was frantically searching high and low for any traces of her Entity. She was asking here and there, searching every nook and cranny of this busy city. She was worried that Rin might get into trouble since she hasn't come out in the city for quite some time. Turning into an alley, she accidentally bumped into a white-haired girl, seemingly waiting for someone.
"Ouch...Oh, I'm so sorry! Ehehe...Are you...alright?"

Kyo just sat there quietly and watching the whole scenery around him covered in an exquisite orange as the sun started to going down, marking that the peaceful time is ending and the madness hours begin until dawn. Yeah, in this city, crimes occured at night like crazy. Well, at night, Friergate is still as busy as ever as casinos, movie theaters,... starting to work. However, it'd be wise if you avoid deserted streets and alleys or you have to pay with your lives. Robbing is also a problem even when you're in a crowd. Pretty much the same like any other cities, except they occured at this city several times more regularly.

The children are still playing and running after each other happily until their parents asked them to go back home. Kyo smiles, somehow it makes him feel peaceful watching those children playing like that, because it reminds him back to when he was still a boy, living a normal life with his sister alongside. But he shook his head and tell himself that the past is in the past, that is the story of thousands year ago, but now, his fate is to fight whatever evil forces they have to face.

A few moments later, a short, thin girl with a pale blue hair wearing military clothes appeared and sat next to Kyo. He frowned when he saw her as she looked somehow... familiar. But they just quietly sat and watching the scenery in front of them.

"They sure are quick to forget huh? Five years ago, people didn't even have the time to enjoy a nice afternoon like this", suddenly the girl said, but Kyo wasn't sure if she was talking with him or not.

Kyo touches his hair,"Yeah, I think so too. It's amazing how things have changed in such a short period", Kyo said softly, "but I hope that innocent people won't have to suffer again, especially when the crisis is about to come."

Kyo then reached his pocket just to grab his iPod, however, he pulled out his insignia instead. Suddenly, Kyo remembered somethings. "If I remember correctly, then the leaders of the Synchronicity and the Circus have their unique insignias which will shine a soft-colored light under the sunlight and can't be touched by normal people. Well, it seems that I have to pay attention to anyone wearing an insignia out there", Kyo thought.

He then looked next to the girl. He didn't look at her carefully earlier so he didn't notice the insignia in the shape of a white lynx silhouette with a cresent moon at a background on her chest. As the sun going down, the sunlight makes the insignia glittered with a pale-cyan light.

"Looks like I've found my first companion", Kyo thought, then he turning his eyes around to see if anyone suspicious was watching them. He then leaned on the bench,"Nice scenery huh? So, have you came across with other members yet?", Kyo said naturally as he showed the girl his insignia, which is now also glitters in a soft-blue light.

As the sun started to set, the other shades of color in the park started to emerge. A vibrant orange, some nice shade of pale yellow but, what really got Rin's eye was the glowing Cross on the hand of the man beside her. Why it was inverted was unknown to her but, she just can't think of a reason for a Circus member to choose a religious symbol as an insignia.

"Nice scenery huh? So, have you came across with other members yet?"

She heard him ask her. That at least cleared up one thing: He was part of Synchronicity.

"Not really. I myself only came back here around two weeks ago and hasn't left my hideout until today." Rin gave her short but honest reply, keeping her eyes on the glittering pond. Her attention was slightly caught by the glittering insignia of the person beside her, which mesmerized her a bit. Her own insignia was only a variation of her old unit's emblem that she fashioned into a necklace that shines an ethereal silver.

"So--" Rin rose from her crunched position on the bench into a more, upright one as she faced him. "Are you an Entity yourself? Or are you somebody's Catalyst?"

Izumi could see that this person seemed wary of her somehow. She was puzzled: Was she really that threatening to look at? Most people even made fun of her but, this seems to be the first time someone looked genuinely wary of her.

"Ahaha--Sorry again. Anyway, I bumped into you since I was looking for somebody who might have ran off somewhere and I wasn't really looking so..." Izumi apologized again as she scratched her head but, a slight glitter, shining out of this girl's sleeve caught her attention. "What is that? Some kind of glow-in-the-dark bracelet?"

"Anyway, have you seen a girl around here? She's not too tall, blue hair, green jacket, looks like a lost cat?"

"So, are you an Entity yourself? Or are you somebody's Catalyst?", the girl rose into a more upright position as she faced with Kyo and asked.

Kyo smiles softly, "Yeah, I am Humility.", Kyo said as he put his insignia back to his pocket, "my real name is Kyori, but Kyo will do. Nice to see you."

He turned his head and leaned his back against the bench as he silently watching the sunset for a moment, the whole scenery was covered in orange as it started to get darker and darker. The children now are saying goodbye to each other and head back to their home. So far, nothing has happened, Kyo secretly wishes that it'll always be peaceful like this someday.

"How about you?" Kyo turned his face to the girl, "What's your name? Are you an Entity too? It seems that you're waiting for someone."

"Yeah, I am Humility. My real name is Kyori, but Kyo will do. Nice to see you."

Humility. Rin was somehow in awe at hearing that. It was regarded as one of the highest among them as a Virtue since it directly contradicts Pride, the highest rank at the Circus. Never had she entertained the thought of meeting with someone who could possibly be considered as their leader.

"How about you? What's your name? Are you an Entity too? It seems that you're waiting for someone."

"Yes, I am also an Entity and I am the holder of the virtue of Diligence. My name is Rin Nakahara but, you can call me Rin if you want." Rin answered his first question while keeping her gaze on the changing scenery. As the park slowly descended into night, children were replaced with teenagers, looking for an escape or a good time. It was rather baffling how this innocent park frequented by children could turn into this kind of place at night. Then again, this isn't exactly the first time.

"Not really. I was just checking things as they are now." Rin recalls the last time she fought against Circus in this city. "I guess I'm just surprised that they managed to rebuild everything after three years."

Three years. That much time has passed since her last skirmish with Circus. As the park started to get more populated by the least acceptable of Friergate's citizenry, Rin realized that she had dawdled off for too long. She slowly stood up to take her leave but before she did, she handed a small note to Kyo, containing her number.

"If Synchronicity has any plans, you can contact me through this number. Until then, I'll be laying low." With that said, Rin slowly took her leave. Now that she's certain that the Sins and Virtues are gathering, the times wherein she can relax and rest for a bit are getting shorter every second.

"Yes, I am also an Entity and I am the holder of the virtue of Diligence. My name is Rin Nakahara but, you can call me Rin if you want.", the girl answer his first question, but she seemed kinda surprised. Kyo nodded as he the scenery around them is getting darker and the children has gone back to their home. And instead, the park now was filled with teenagers hanging out. Kyo shrugged, "Well, this is the Friergate City", he thought.

"Not really. I was just checking things as they are now. I guess I'm just surprised that they managed to rebuild everything after three years", Rin answered his other question. Kyo nodded. Yeah, everything has to changed, it's the rule of life. Everything comes and goes and create a cycle. But somehow, Kyo glad that even if the crisis comes, people will still have the will to rebuild everything. After all, the true purpose of Synchronicity is protecting people, right?

The park now is started to get crowded with some of the people-that-everyone-knows-who. But Kyo didn't seem to care much, really. Rin then stood up and planning to leave, but didn't forget to give Kyo a piece of paper which contains her number.

"If Synchronicity has any plans, you can contact me through this number. Until then, I'll be laying low.", Rin and said.

Kyo then took the paper and smiled with her, "I will. In the meantime, please seek out to any possible members if you can."

With that, Rin slowly walked away from the park and Kyo waved goodbye to here. "Looks like I've got to find a place to stay for the night", Kyo thought. He has to leave this park before he caught someone else attention in this park. Some of the Circus' members might be lurking around so he also have to be careful too.

Then Kyo stood up and then walked away from the park and join the stream of people who are walking on the street. But after a few moments of walking, he suddenly caught vision of a person, which was pretty... familiar. Kyo frowned and looked carefully under the street light. And he was very surprised that it was no other person than...

...his sister.

"S...Sis?", Kyori looked at the girl in surprised. He then tried to go to her through the crowd, but since she was walking the opposite with him, she soon disappeared in the crowd. Kyori sighed, he wasn't sure if it's really her or not since he has been having vision now and then.

He then realized that he is now standing in front of an alley with a group of five thugs cornered a young boy...

"Thank you for having dinner at our Diner. Please comeback again", Hikari smiled as he bowed before some guests leaving the diner after their meal.

After the last guests had left, Hikari sighed in relieve as he put the tray on the bar table then cleaning some tables. His friend then comes near him and patted on his back.

"Well, your shift is over, Hikari. Don't harass yourself like that. Take your time and enjoys", the friend grinned and said gleefully.

"It was nothing, really. Well, I guess I should be heading home now", Hikari smiled back and then grabbed his backpack which was nearby and went to the staff room. He changed back to his uniform before going to the entrance.

"Be careful on your way home, kiddo", said his manager.

"I will. Thanks", Hikari smiled and got out of the diner.

"Man, that was pretty tired", he said as he yawned, it was a pretty long day for him, "I should head home now."

But just as he was walking on the deserted street, some tough thugs stood in front of him. "My, my. What is a winny little wimp doing out here alone at night like this, guys? Don't know if there are some good stuffs in that bag", a thug spoke as the whole group smirked at Hikari while slowly walking towards him with knives and clubs. All five of them against a defenseless boy like him.

Hikari was pretty panic right now. "Damn it, I know I shouldn't have taken a shortcut like this", he thought but tried to keep calm as much as possible. He walked back behind him and trying to run away but the group quickly caught up with him. He turned his direction into an alley but was shocked that it was a dead-end. As the thugs kept taunting him, he continued to walk back until he hit the wall.

Two of the thugs went up and grabbed both of his arms, while a tall guy, seemingly their leader slowly walked towards him with a knife. "Better prayin' kid, I'll make it as painless as possible", the thug spoke with a husky voice while put the knife onto Hikari's neck. Hikari now is totally giving up, he closed his eyes shut and waiting for the worst to come. "Is this the end, I guess?", he thought.

But just as the knife started to dug into Hikari's neck, the voice of the two remaining thugs shouting caught his and the other three thugs attention. The thugs were lying on the ground and behind them is a tall, blue hair man.

"W-Who the heck are you? Guys, get him", the thug who grabbed Hikari said in panic as the others went up and tried to hit the man. But he dodged easily and thrust into one thug's stomach with his elbow and kicking the other right in his face. They all now lying as if they were dead. The man slowly approached Hikari and the guy who grabbed him right now.

"S-Stop right there... O...Or...else...I'll kill this kid...", the thug shivered while trying to dug the knife deeper into Hikari's skin. But before he could do anything, the tall man swiftly punched him right in the face at an incredible speed, and the thug is now sharing the same fate as his goons.

The man than rubbed his shoulder a bit before knelt down and helped Hikari to stood up. He asked him if was okay.

"I...I'm fine", Hikari now has a better look at the man's face while his face suddenly turned red, "Thanks for helping me."

As the man turned his back and about to leave, Hikari felt something about this man, he doesn't know what it is, but he knows that it was destined that he has met him. So he shouted for him, "Wait!"

The tall man then turned his back and looked at Hikari with a surprised look. Hikari then closed his eyes, with his cheeks are still red and said, "I...I want to do something to repay you."

Rion blinked at the question. Thinking it over, she then shook her head at the girl. "No, I don't think I haven't..." Before she could say something else to the girl though, she felt a familiar presence. It was weak, seeing as how the owner was pretty far away, but she could tell by the blue rose bracelet on her wrist. It had served as an insignia of sorts showing that she was the Child of Patience.

"Patience...." Shion's ears perked up at the mention of the name. "Is she here?" "No, but....I can sense that she's somewhere...in this city." She looked around, before remembering that there was someone in front of her.

"A-Ah, do you need help looking for your friend...?" She asked. Maybe she could look for her Entity while she was at it.

On a building overlooking the busy streets of Friergate, an old man grunted as he stared at the bustling streets below from the glass window separating him from the outside world. He struggled to get up on his back but his age prevented him from doing so, leaving him to be content with just lying down on his comfortable bed. A few minutes later, he felt a presence occupying the room with him. Listening attentively, he heard the soft sound of footsteps, registering at his carpet floor. A woman approached his bed and stared at him blankly, her face illuminated by the moonlight.
"*Cough*, *cough*--Leona? Is that you?" The man managed to recognize her immediately.
"Matthew Vincent, it's been a while."
"Indeed. So, you were still alive? All this time?"
"Yes, I was revived, taking the form that now stands in front of you." Leona leaned closer, her wild eyes staring madly at his. "You do know that I have every reason to kill you here? I can take your life and no one will notice. Not your son who is working overtime downstairs nor those armed guards you've stationed at the lower floors."
"But will you do it? Will you--kill me here?" The old man looked at her with weary eyes. He didn't appear to be scared or anything like that. The old, hungry look of the past was gone. Now, he was no longer the cunning man he used to be, just a weary old man. Leona merely moved away, blending in with the darkness of the room.
"No. I have no need to. I can no longer do anything to you that you haven't already done to yourself. You're already standing at the door of death, all you have to do is to walk through it." Leona finally turned, walking away from the man.
"Leona--will you forgive me?"
Stopping for a while, Leona merely answered a brief reply. "You no longer have the time in your hands. When you die, who is left to forgive you if not myself?" As Leona walked away, Matthew stared blankly at the ceiling, remembering the old days. Slowly, his eyes willed themselves shut, never to open again.
Never...

At the busy streets, Leona tried feeling for her Child's presence around the place. "Rion, where did you go this time?"

Izumi sighed when the girl told her that she hasn't seen Rin around. She did offer to help look for her friend though.
"Ah! You looking for someone too? Then, why don't we try looking for them around the diners? They may have gotten hungry for all we know."
Izumi laughed and walked ahead, motioning for the girl to follow her.
"Come on! Let's go!"

As the night slowly descended into a chasm of light and sound, the result of the night life starting to reach its climax, the quiet girl aptly moved through the streets, taking care not to attract any attention to her. Raising up the white muffler she wears, she slightly shivered at the cold breeze that passed.

"Winter is starting to come in soon..." Rin quietly moved in inside a diner, to avoid facing the cold outside. Her eyes darted all across the room, looking for anybody suspicious. She had one, efficient way of doing it. Tuning up her Search Eye, she quickly scanned the pockets of the people around. Keys, pens, key chains and finally, a gun. Turning it off, she glanced at the direction of the guy carrying it.

Right off the bat, this guy looked suspicious. He was all covered up and was somehow, harassing the waitress at his table. He pulled her in rather harshly before kicking her off. At this point, Rin's fingers slowly made their way to the gun tucked in her belt. Before she could touch it--

Smash!

The window parallel to the man suddenly broke, like something went through it. The people stood up and immediately headed outside, feeling a bit terrified. Running towards the man, Rin saw a single arrow stuck on his back. Glancing at the direction the arrow was shot, she managed to spy a figure perched on a rooftop, it's slim build tells her that she might be a woman. Rin immediately darted off, heading into the same building this girl was standing at through the fire exit. She managed to get up to the roof just in time as the girl was starting to walk away. Sensing her presence, the girl turned around to face her.

"I'm surprised. You managed to sense me up here. You're no ordinary lady aren't you?" The woman, Leona prepared her Excalibur as Rin reached for her Beretta.

"Attacking an unrelated area, wide out into the open--Sorry, but I can't let this incident slide." Rin aimed her pistol at Leona. Leona's eyes simply narrowed down in slight disappointment. Rin may not have known her personally back then but, she did know a bit about Rin. She had seen her take on the first Wrath, after all.

"I guess the past just couldn't let me go eh?" Leona muttered silently which had Rin puzzled. Seeing it as a sort of opening, Leona fired the first shot, which Rin managed to dodge by a few millimeters. Acknowledging the girl as a threat, she retaliated by firing shots of her own but Leona immediately ducked behind some walls to avoid the bullet fire. Not wanting to waste too much ammo, Rin started to close in with her M-9 drawn, expecting to surprise her through close-range combat. Instead, she was the one that received the surprise as Leona managed to simply grabbed her and hurl her to the ground, making her drop both weapons. Pinning her down, Leona held her at point blank range as she aimed her arrow at Rin's head.

"It's useless to struggle. No need to be so stubborn, Circus member." Leona was fully aware that Rin was not a member of Circus though. It was just easier to feign suspicion on her so, she would get the upper hand. There was no way Rin would suspect her for Circus if she was the one who suspected Rin first.

As Izumi walked around, leading the rather timid lady with her, she sensed Rin's energy, along with another strong, signal coming from an Entity. As it was somehow radiating alongside Rin, she reckoned that Rin might be stuck in a conflict.

"Oh no, something bad might be happening." Izumi muttered. Grabbing the girl's hand, she quickly dragged her with her, heading into the direction of Rin's presence.

Rion squeaked a bit in alarm as she was dragged along suddenly. It snapped Shion into action, but she stopped the more violent split personality before she could act. "Shion, no! S-She may know where we can find her friend..." "Tch. Sometimes, Rion, you're too kind for your own good." As Rion was about to throw a retort to the other, she blinked as she felt a familiar presence as they neared the building the two Entities were fighting in.

"W-What's Patience-san doing?" Rion glanced up at the building nervously, swearing that she saw shadowed figures radiating the aura of what seemed to be the aura from other Synchronicity members. But why were they fighting? Surely, they're supposed to be allies, right...?"

"I... I am?", Hikari questioned. "Wow, I've never gone through anything like it in my life..."

Kyo smiled and then patted on his new Child's shoulders, "Don't worry, you'll be fine as long as I'm here with you. I'll help you to explore your power later."

Hikari nodded and said to Kyo, "It seems we're done. So, would you like to stay with me? I guess you don't have anywhere to stay."

Kyo still keeping his smile, "Yes, we should stick together. Now let's go, it's not very safe at this time. We should stay low until our group has gathered and come up with a plan against the Circus."

With that, they walked away from the ground and began to walk to Hikari's apartment. Today was a pretty lovely night actually, especially when there aren't any fuss on the street yet. The night breeze slowly blew and there were stars on the sky. "It feels good to have someone right by my side", Kyo thought as they walked.

Hikari asked if Kyo wanted to eat something on their way back. "Well, I'm not that hungry really. All I wanted now is to take a shower and have a nice sleep", Kyo answered while yawning a bit. But as they were walking, Kyo suddenly felt something really intrigued.

"This feeling...", Kyo thought as he stopped and closed his eyes so that he could know what is going on around here. Hikari asked him what happened. A moments later, he opened his eyes, "No doubts. Someone are fighting around here. Follow me", Kyo turned his head and said to Hikari before started to run towards the location where the radiating aura from the Synchronicity members are flowing, though the aura seemed to be really unstable.

After a few minutes of running, they stopped at a building. Kyo then looked up and was quite surprised to see that Rin was fighting with someone, and it seems that she's going to lose. "So the presence I felt earlier was her, but what about the other woman? Is she...", Kyo thought while concentrated on feeling the aura again, but the aura was pure and it is absolutely not from a Circus member. Hikari then asked Kyo what's going on, he then turned to him and said, "They're also a part of our group too. Though I don't know why they're fighting like that. Stay here, I have to do something about it."

With that, Kyo, still keeping his posture, went towards the building. He then jumped to the second floor and then jumped up to the roof, where they're fighting.

"Stop!", Kyo yelled, "What are you guys doing? Don't you realize that if our enemies see this, they'd have a chance to break us apart? Now please keep calm and sort things out in peace, shall we?"

"Circus member? You're either daft or delusional. Surely you can recognize someone from your side based from my aura!?" Rin growled angrily as she tried to get up. Moving her arms and legs, she managed to break free but an arrow was shot in her left thigh.

"Not a Circus member? Doesn't matter. I'll shoot anyone who gets in my way, even someone as enigmatic a target as you." Leona answered coldly, her eyes scanning the terrain for any form of advantage she can utilize. There isn't a lot of cover provided by this rooftop but, she did manage to catch a shining object from the corner of her eye.

It was a couple of LPG tanks.

"Let's just bet that they still have some gas in them." Leona charged at Rin, taking her on with just her bare hands. The young soldier was obviously no match for the more experienced mercenary as she was pushed back all the more. Taking a kick to the stomach, Rin was sent flying back into the wall, in near proximity to the tanks. Sensing the advantage, Leona stepped back and grabbed the Excalibur, intentionally wounding herself in one of her arrows, drawing blood. With the magic activated, she fired at the tanks, causing them to explode, with Rin trying to cover herself with her own magic.

"So much for being part of our group."

As Izumi dragged the girl to the location of the fighting, she was startled by the sudden bursts of flame that came from the rooftop. "Aaahhh!!! What's going on?!" Dragging the girl more, she ran up the stairs to see what was transpiring.

"I did it again, Operative No. 34." Leona walked closer to the burning flames, wanting to confirm the kill. Suddenly, she felt a powerful shot graze her left arm by a few millimeters. Focusing on the blazing circle, she saw Rin's figure emerged, scathed but still intact, her right arm holding a 686 pointed at Leona.

"That was close. Although, since you triggered that explosion using your magic, the blaze you created isn't strong enough to kill me as it was quite simple enough to counter it with my own energy." Rin answered as she struggled to move closer, her fingers moving rapidly, arming the next round.

"Is that so? Well then, let's see if you can still survive this--" Leona smirked as she drew a couple of darts and prepared to strike. Suddenly though--

"Stop! What are you guys doing? Don't you realize that if our enemies see this, they'd have a chance to break us apart? Now please keep calm and sort things out in peace, shall we?" A young man bravely walked up to them and asked them to stop. Rin recognized him as the guy from earlier at the park.

"You're--"

"Maybe you are right. I was acting a bit too rash. Although--" Leona tried to read through the boy's eyes. "I guess I can't expect an outsider to know all about my personal demons." She sighed as she glanced at Rin who had already lowered her armament.

"Personal demons? What do I have to do with her?" Rin wondered as she picked up her Beretta lying on the ground. She turned again to face the other two Entities.

"Fine then. Let's all sort this out in peace. But not here." It was somehow a relief to see that the Entity Patience isn't too stubborn.

"Ummm...if you don't mind, we can discuss this at a nice coffee shop I know, ehehe..." The two combatants turned to see a somewhat laughing Izumi as well as a white-haired girl behind her.

"Izumi?"

"Rion?"

Hikari watched with surprising look as Kyo just jumped onto the top all by himself. "Wow, he can really do that? I wonder if I could too...", he thought. He doesn't know why, but it seems that he has already showing admiration towards his Entity already. After all, Kyo might have live even longer than his ancestors. Through the bond of connection, Hikari knows about Kyo as if he knows about himself and he found it quite impressive.

He then turned to his side and saw another two girls are also standing there and watching the whole fight. It's strange, but somehow, Hikari felt some kind of aura around them. "Maybe they're also the catalysts of the two up there", he thought.

They then headed towards the Entities who are now began to got down from the roof of the house. Hikari saw Kyo smiled a soft smile with him from above, which caused him to blush a bit. He also went there with them to. When Kyo jumped down from the roof, Hikari ran to him. "Wow, you're so awesome", Hikari grinned cheerfully to showed his admiration towards his Entity.

"You're--", Rin said with a surprise look on her face.

"Yes, it's me", Kyo looked at Rin with a smile, "I'm just passing through. But it seems that you owned me a big time."

"Maybe you are right. I was acting a bit too rash. Although--", the taller woman looked at Kyo's eyes but he still keeping his calm posture as if it was nothing, "I guess I can't expect an outsider to know all about my personal demons."

Kyo sighed and turned to the woman, "For Pete's sake, you're Patience's incarnation in this world. So I hope that you'd act a bit like your title. Now let's get ourselves outta here first before someone found out. There's been enough madness in this city already so please don't cause any more trouble for now. You don't want our identities to be revealed to the whole world, don't you?"

After that, Kyo jumped from the roof and landed gracefully on the ground and the two ladies quickly followed him. Hikari then ran towards Kyo and grinned, "Wow, you're so awesome."

Kyo smiled and and ruffled his Child's head, "It was nothing really. I'm relief to see that you're still in one piece. You're really good, you know?"

"Fine then. Let's all sort this out in peace. But not here." Patience said.

"Ummm...if you don't mind, we can discuss this at a nice coffee shop I know, ehehe...", one of the two girls who had been watching the fight earlier said and gave a playfully laugh.

It seemed that the two Entities were quite surprised when they saw their catalysts though. So Kyo and Hikari went to them. "It seems that most of the Virtues and Children of Synchronicity had answer the call and gathered here in this city. Now, I think we all need to talk and sort things out, do we? Please lead the way", Kyo said.

"For Pete's sake, you're Patience's incarnation in this world. So I hope that you'd act a bit like your title. Now let's get ourselves outta here first before someone found out. There's been enough madness in this city already so please don't cause any more trouble for now. You don't want our identities to be revealed to the whole world, don't you?"

Leona took a bit of offense at Kyo's statement. Just goes to show how people can easily judge somebody without hearing the full story from all sides. "I'll let that remark slide for now. I merely retaliated back at the danger presented to me. It wasn't me who fired the first shot. As I said, I don't really expect anyone who knows nothing to get me."

"First shot!? I wouldn't have retaliated like that if it wasn't for that heist you pulled off!" Rin growled angrily as Izumi tried to restrain her.

"Rin-san, calm down." Izumi tried her best to restrain her entity. "We'll all talk this out right? So, no problem anymore right?"

Izumi led the small entourage into a coffee shop near the edge of town. It was a small business owned by her family so it their confidentiality was pretty much assured. Sitting across from each other, the two Entities stared daggers at each others' eyes. "Well, I might as well ask you, why you opted to fire on me."

"Because you killed that man at the shop I was in. With several witnesses, I might add. That action could've endangered the secrecy of our existence. Besides--"

"Besides what? You were already there? When would you have planned to take action? When someone is already dead? I'm sorry but, unlike yours, my powers are a little more complicated to use. Besides, that was just one life in exchange for that girl's. So, all is fair." Leona immediately retorted back. Her opponent was still young after all. Still naive.

"So you don't mind killing millions as long as you can save a million more?" Rin angrily shouted back.

"Billions. Billions more."

"Then how would this logic of yours end? When every single human is dead? All humans are just as prone to evil as everyone else. With that kind of thinking, you won't be able to save anyone else."

"You're a hypocrite. You can lecture me about the way I do things if you haven't killed yourself." With that remark, Rin suddenly fell quiet. "Gotcha..." Leaning in closer, Leona stared deeply into Rin's eyes. "So, how many bodies? How many skeletons do you have in your closet? How much blood is on your hands?"

The tense atmosphere was dispelled when their order arrived. Taking a sip from her drink, Leona paused to let her words sink in. Turning back to Rin, she continued. "I understand you though. You're still young. You still do not know the harsh realities of life. I'll just let you all slide for now. Next time you get in the way though, you're as good as dead."

"B-but Patience-san, Rin is also a Synchronicity member like you. Isn't it proper that you become allies? After all, that's what we came here for right? To patch things up with each other? You both have a common enemy so, why not work together?" Izumi questions Leona's decision.

"Allies? All my allies are dead. I don't know any of you sitting on this table now. Just because we have a common enemy, doesn't mean that we can coexist with each other. Our means and methods are too different."

"But the real evil is the Circus right? Not you nor is it Rin--"

"Evil? Who exactly is evil in this world? This is a war, Kimura-chan. There is no good nor evil. Just differences that will never meet a compromise. I, myself is just as capable of doing evil as the most evil member of the Circus. We may be officially created to combat these forces of darkness you speak of but the same thing with them, each of us have our own differences. And that will never change. I'll help you take down the Circus but after that, we're all strangers again." Turning to Rin, she left her a small challenge. "If you still want to, feel free to come after me after this war is over. Come, Rion." Leona called her Catalyst as she exited the establishment.

"So nothing got solved in the end huh? Too bad..." Izumi sighed as she noticed Rin stand up.

"Differences eh? Very well, I accept this challenge. I accept your war." Rin aimed her hand which was shaped into a gun at the door Leona walked out of. Finishing her drink in one gulp, she also exited the establishment, leaving Izumi alone with the two boys.

"Ehehe...the girls are gone. So, who are you people?" Izumi asks the two. She did ask for the shop to open again so, she might as well make the most out of the time.

"I'll let that remark slide for now. I merely retaliated back at the danger presented to me. It wasn't me who fired the first shot. As I said, I don't really expect anyone who knows nothing to get me", Leona said with disdains. Kyo shook his head, this is the time when he has to stay calm so that he could know what to do to unite the Synchronicity. Rin then yelled at her in anger but her catalyst has calm her down.

"Perhaps I didn't really understand what's going on, because me and my Child just passing through. However, I still don't think fighting each other like that is a good idea. Come, let's go", Kyo said as Izumi - Rin's Child led them to a small café.

"Seems like a nice place", Kyo smiled and said to Izumi. When they walked in, Kyo and Hikari ordered some drink and they just silently watched as the two Entities fighting with each other again, but this time is with words. He then looked next to him and saw a confusing look up in Hikari's face. Kyo sighed, perhaps the boy didn't really ready to face their obstacles since he has been fond of feeling safe all of his life.

Kyo smiled softly at Hikari and ruffled his head, "Come now, don't look like that. You actually looked cute when you're confusing, you know?"

Hikari turned to Kyo and looked at him with a nod, but Kyo can clearly notice his Child's blushes from earlier to now. It seems that Rion - Leona's Child is also confusing right now. She kept silent the whole time. Kyo then turned to her and calm her, "Everything will worked out, some ways. Do not worry."

A few moments after Rin and Leona has throw out every harsh words that they could ever spoke to each other, Izumi interfered and tried to calm the two, but is seemed to be no avail.

I'll help you take down the Circus but after that, we're all strangers again." Leona said before she turned to Rin while challenging her, "If you still want to, feel free to come after me after this war is over. Come, Rion."

Leona stood up and going to exit the coffee shop. Finally, Kyo decided to speak up. "Before you leave, may I have a word with you? We all know what the situation is right now and the Circus might act sooner or later. Leona, you think that you've went through a lot in your lives. But remember that, you're not the only one who knows how insane this world is even if you think you've went through it all because you're the oldest around here. I hope that you'll never forget the reason why you were chosen to be the incarnation in the first place. Sure, you state out that staining your hands with blood of the others are for the greater good, you do have a point. But, will you be happy? Are you sure that you'll live on this long, cold and isolated immortality life after all that has happen without feeling just a pinch of grief? Have you ever felt so weak, even though no one is capable of standing in your way? But you're an Entity, and so do we. And I can assure you that as an Entity, we all have one same desire even if we have different purposes to fight, no matter which sides we're on. That's all I'm gonna say"

Kyo then took his cup of coffee and took a sip before continue, "And one more thing, if you think that we're that different, then no one around here would force you to work with us as a team. I don't want you to feel reluctant. Just don't do anything rashly."

With that, Leona took her leave and Rion quickly followed her. "Differences eh? Very well, I accept this challenge. I accept your war", Rin said before she leave too.

"And you", Kyo turned and said to Rin before she left, "never forget that sometimes you can't make decision all by yourself. One wrong step, and you'll fall into the hole."

Then, the coffee shop is now left only with Kyo, Hikari and Izumi. Kyo sighed, no matter how hard he tried, he could never be able to accomplish what he always wanted. At first, he just want to find his sister and help her to find her peace. So far, his goal never changed, but he somehow figure out a way to finish this once and for all, even if everyone around him never going to get along with him what-so-ever.

"Ehehe...the girls are gone. So, who are you people?", Izumi asks the two. Kyo looked at her few moments before have her a smile. It is good to know that at least there are a few people still haven't put themselves over the top.

"Well, as you may notice earlier, I am also an Entity. My title is Humility and this cute boy here is my new found Child, his name is Hikari and my name is Kyori. But you can call me Kyo if you want", he paused a bit to finish his drink, "so, I guess you're Izumi-san then? It was nice to have a cozy place like this to hang out after a busy day in this city", Kyo said as he leaned his back on the chair. He turned his eyes and looked up at the ceiling. Kyo has seen much madness in this world, and he always tried to deal with them in peace. But this time, Kyo knows that peace won't be the solution anymore. "Guess my short peaceful time is over", Kyo thought.

"And you, never forget that sometimes, you can't make decisions all by yourself. One wrong step, and you'll fall into the hole."
"This guy--!" Turning to pause a bit, Rin glanced back at the three who were left at the table. "Well, I don't know. I am the Entity of Diligence, the never-ending pursuit to better myself. As I recall, the whole point of the virtue is to well--face things and make decisions by yourself? Bear through everything alone? Don't give me that lecture, I did read the terms and conditions of this contract. Not all of us fights this threat because we want to make the world a better place."

With the entity of Diligence gone, Izumi was left alone with the two guys. He calmly introduced both him and his partner. "Well, as you may notice earlier, I am also an Entity. My title is Humility and this cute boy here is my new found Child, his name is Hikari and my name is Kyori. But you can call me Kyo if you want" He also took note of her place. "So, I guess you're Izumi-san then? It was nice to have a cozy place like this to hang out after a busy day in this city."

"Well, haha, I'm glad you like it." Izumi soon found herself out of words. She really isn't too good at keeping up conversations. "Well, uh--I can't speak for Patience-san but, please excuse Rin-san for that. I'm actually her third Catalyst now. She didn't really divulge a lot of details but, something bad somehow happened with her first catalyst." Izumi paused there, unsure of whether she'll say anymore about what she knows of Rin's past. Still, she chose to carry on anyway. "Well, she was once a part of the underground military faction known as Sacred Drive. If you don't know about it, it's a group that contests both Synchro and the Circus. They're practically a bunch of vigilantes who just wants to end the feud by getting rid of both factions. I guess, they didn't want to allow Rin and her Catalyst within their ranks when they learned that they were also Entities. That was three years ago, I think. Now, that group has gone silent."

Noticing that the general atmosphere had become dim, Izumi quickly changed the topic. "Well, that's enough for now. So, what are you guys going to do? As Humility, everyone pretty much looks at you like some sort of leader. If you have any plans, you can always contact us here."

Within her room, Rin moved over to a small, oak chest lying there. "That girl, Patience is right. Differences. That's the only thing separating us from the Circus..." As her hands dusted off an object that was lying there, she paused a bit, feeling a sort of hesitation. "Sacred Drive...I still remember our old mantra. "For the preservation of our normal society, we must cast our differences aside and strive for the greater good of mankind." Aokigahara--was leaving Sacred Drive the right choice?" She shook her head as she shoved those thoughts out of her mind. A storm is coming and it is not the time for hesitation. Taking out the last of the covers, she took out the Savage 110 BA she kept hidden there.
"Well, I guess the good thing about guns is that individual differences don't matter. All is equal, in the face of a bullet..."

Walking along with her catalyst, Leona turned to speak to her. "I'm not really the cold-hearted bitch you just saw earlier. I do understand the feeling of grief and regret. In fact, I know it all too well." Leona recalled her past. Killing Misato Aokigahara--Rin's first Catalyst, was the hardest thing she had to do. Burying her past again, she turned to face Rion.
"I'm sorry. I hope you didn't mind being alone for a while. I just had some loose ends to tie up. I guess I should have left you a note."
Worrying a bit about her Child, she felt her forehead with the back of her hand. "Well, it seems that you're alright. Are you hungry? Do you want to stop somewhere for a while?"

"Hehe, I'm glad you like it!" Izumi felt flattered at the compliment. Hearing Kyo talk about his predicament seems to be a downer to her.
"Well, that's a depressing thought. Having to fight against a member of your own family... Everyone from Synchronicity do have their fair share of baggage. We're all just good at hiding them." Izumi sighed. She cannot relate much after all. She has no internal struggle, no dark thought clouding her mind. It's what's preventing her from relating to the others too much.
"Oh don't call me that, I'm don't have what it takes to be called a leader anyway. I think we should just go on with our own lives for now until the Circus decided to show up."
"Heh, okay then. Rin must have given you the details on how to reach us so, if anything pops up, don't hesitate to call us for assistance!"

"Okay then. Well, let's go back. It's dark and you might be feeling sleepy." Leona led Rion back to their hideout: a small, bungalow type house within a townhouse area. She prepared her Child's bed before going back outside to keep watch of the surrounding area.

The next day, Rin was walking around casually at the nearby shopping district. The same as last time, she was rather half-armed, bringing only her handgun, revolver and knife along with her. Walking around the place relaxes her, takes her mind of all the things the Entity Patience told her. Her words had a lot of degree of truth within them. She turned as she reached an alley, following that path heading into a rather large mall. She remembered an old "acquaintance" working there. She went inside and into the appliance center.
"Yes, may I help you?" An assistant asked.
"Yes. I'm looking for a black screen TV that can give me a good "overlooking view"." Rin answered with a small smirk on her face. The assistant looked at her slyly before acknowledging the request.
"Right this way please." The assistant led her into the storage area. Moving aside a few boxes, she revealed a hidden door, leading to who knows where. "Your "order" is waiting for you there."
Despite being a wanted renegade by Sacred Drive, she still had contact with some benefactors who sees her as an asset. They were used to using weird phrases as some sort of code between them. Inside the room, an Oriental man, wearing a suit had his back turned on her, facing a large panoramic display of the entire mall.
"Ah, Nakahara! Still fighting the good fight now, are we?" He greeted Rin who acknowledged his presence.
"Good fight? Didn't you say before that neither side is completely good, seeing as none of us are actually humans?" Rin sat at the man's desk, looking at him intently.
"I can see that you did not come here to catch up. So, why visit a Sacred Drive executive who can easily turn you in?"
"The moment you try, I'll punch a hole in your head. Priam, I need information regarding the Entity who was at the Hayashibara Power Incident. The woman who defeated the First Wrath."
"Run into her? All the data regarding that incident was buried by the higher ups. It seems nobody wants to remember it. There might still be some records left at our old base near the train station. You'll need a pass to get in." The man, Priam informed her as he gave her his old pass card. Taking it, Rin turned around to leave. "Rin, regarding Misato, we're sorry. Had we only arrived sooner--"
"I know. Still, Aokigahara died. Doesn't really matter now that three years have passed--" Rin halted her sentence at this. She just stood there, her back turned facing the ceiling. She sniffed some of the air within the room.
"You feel it too?"
"Yeah. Another Entity has entered the premises."

In the busy district, Serpent was weaving through crowds, scouting the area. Something felt off. She was recognizing the all-too familiar essence of a Virtue. Of course, it wasn't the Cardinal Virtue designed to counter her Sin, which was Kindness, and she knew all too well that the Entity hasn't been spotted yet. Still, there was the unnerving feeling of a Virtue, however, the essence was still weak from where she was. Her mind split in two parts.

There was the familiar bloodlust and very slight, twisted happiness since there was an enemy whose blood she could spill if she fought enough. But then there was the second thought- Fear, maybe? Since it was a Virtue and not just a Child she was dealing with, she was sure she wasn't going to come back to Circus without any cuts or bruises on her unless she became a coward and ran away, but it would risk her reputation as a dangerous member of Circus. Shaking her head, she just reached into one of the bags in her belt and examined one of the many pairs of scissors in it. Smooth. Gleaming. Soon to be stained with blood, probably.

All the walking and running tired her out a bit as she leaned against a vending machine, sighing. One of the reasons she had stopped by at this particular machine was that she was sensing the essence coming somewhere here...then she shut her eyes.
"Alright, Virtue, prepare."
