Joanne Harrison's Story

"Come back here this instant!" Joanne yelled, running after a young boy.
"Go away from me! you're not my mother!" The boy yelled back, turning around a corner of the streets.
"Wallace, you're forcing me to be your mother!" The girl shrieked, almost falling after the turn. "Come back, or dad will be worried when he gets back home!"

Joanne stopped, looking around. She have lost Wallace from her sight, so she just started walking. Soon after, she heard a running noise.

"Gotcha!" The girl whispered to herself and rushed to the noise.

She could feel it in her head, she sensed that she was getting closer to Wallace's presense. Joanne sped up, certain in her victory. Joanne had encouraging thoughts in her head, thinking:

"This time I'll get you and bring you home!"

This mindset was cut short after Joanne tripped onto a trash can, causing her to fall and roll several feet.

"Uuuughh..." The gril moaned while slowly getting up. "My head... my shoulders... Wallace, you're so busted this time..."

Once she opened her eyes, Joanne forgot about her pain. Either she was dreaming, or she was unconscious for so long, New York changed a lot.

"What's going on here?" She looked around.

"WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?" The panic quickly took over her. "WALLACE? WHERE ARE YOU? WHERE IS MY BROTHER? WHERE AM I?"

Joanne rushed to a silver haired girl and grabbed her by the shoulders.

"Excuse me! What year is it? What city is it? What planet is it? What is the appropriate question I should ask?"

She quickly let her go.

"Have you seen a young boy with dark hair, around this tall, running around?" Joanne asked the girl, pointing the height with her hand, which was shaking.

Tallya was scared now,for this girl."Pardon me officer!" She said and dragged the girl into the book store."This is the after verse.." She said,and threw her some steampunk clothes to wear.(http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/ ... 2e7d0a.jpg) "Put these on,and act polite,like nothing happened." Tallya said,and tossed her a small umbrella to go with her outfit."If the police officer comes in tell him you were just looking at books.Oh!And end it with a sir." Tallya said.

"Ok you two," The police officer said to the two boys. "I have bigger things to worry about than you. So just promise me you'll stay out of trouble. I don't want to have to speak to you again." He said before turning away and climbing down the guttering to the street below. He went into an old book store where the two ladies had gone.
"Ladies?" He said, looking around the bookstore. "There you are. I am Detective Inspector Robertson, a highly regarded police officer. I can assure you the situation on the rooftop was strictly a precaution with our dear mayor's garden party so soon at hand. I apologise for any disturbance I may have caused. It all sounded a bit riled down here. Are you both quite alright?"

Joanne tried to grab the clothes that were thrown at her. They were on her still trembling hands for a brief part of the second before she dropped them. Joanne didn't even manage to touch the umbrella, so it hit the ground immediately after it was thrown. Joanne picked up the clothes.

"The after... the..." The girl was still confused, so she stood still and silent for a second, taking a breath and trying to calm herself down.

She had no time for that, as her heart skipped a beat after the officer went into the book store.

"We're just looking at books!.......... SIR!" She replied to his question like a soilder would. "Have a nice day! Sir!"

Izy once again tried getting the officer off his clothes, he succeeded again and ran straight for the roof top again.

He rested on the roof and tun began running across the roof tops to make sure the officer wouldn't see him again anytime soon. Then he saw people that didn't look like they were from round here....in-fact....they looked more like him.

"Yes,this is my sister." Tallya said and smiled."Our father is closing the store,in a about a minute.May you please guide yourself out?" She said politely with a award winning smile on.

Charles stood there watching the man leave and enter a book store. Soon after, the other boy snatched some clothes and ran again. He could've helped him. Charles reached for his pockets and had a leather wallet in them, some keys and a small switchblade. He discarded the knife and checked his wallet. He had some money but he figured he wouldn't be able to buy anything with it since he's... Well, different. Charles leaped off the roof and landed in a loud thud. As he made his way through the several houses and stores he wondered how he could get some clothes to fit in more, and then find the boy; Even though he probably knew as much as him, it would be a start. He kept wandering around in the streets having no idea what to do for a while, then thought he should maybe talk to the lady that 'saved' him and the other boy. Rushing through the streets he saw some people in a market, the food there was pretty easy to snatch, but he was no thief. Was he?...

"Very well, ladies." The police officer said with a nod. "Tell me if you see any trouble around. I'm always here to help." But before he left he glanced oddly into the corner. He had a puzzled look on his face whatever he was looking at, but he didn't look for long. He swiftly turned his back and left as instructed.

In the corner of the shop was something strange indeed. It hadn't been there when they came in. Where could it have come from. It looked like a suit of armour with a grim and disturbing looking face. It stood very still and suddenly the room fell very quiet.

"Oh my God..." Joanne let a huge sigh of relief and placed her hand on her forehead. "Is this how Alice and Dorothy felt?"

Finally Joanne went stable enough to comprehend a small part of what just happened to her.
"I appeared from a completely different place, screamed my lungs out in front of everybody, I'm not dressed in these yet and I got away with it?" She raised her brow.

"I still don't know how is this possible. And you seem to react pretty fast to my situation. Maybe you've seen this before and know more people who came from somewhere else? Maybe you know a way how one can go back home? Oh, God! I'm so worried... I hope my brother is still there. It will take three days tops for my family to notice my absence. They'll be worried sick when they find out! Oh! Silly me, I'm so self centered! Thank you for helping me! I'm Joanne Harrison, what's your name?"

"Tallya Spark's,I was sent here a year ago,just like you.Now can you change before anyone else comes in?" She asks,and points to a spare room in the book store.

"Oh, right!" Joanne said and rushed to the room. As she looked at the clothes, her eyes widened.
"How much of my legs will I have to show off now?" she thought. "There's no way I'm wearing this... There is no way I'm getting dressed into..."


Soon Joanne slowly came out of the room, dressed in the clothes. She had a slight reddish shade on her cheeks.
"Once again, thank you for the clothes! Thank you for everything..."

The girl walked closer to Tallya.

"So, a year, eh? I assume you either like it here very much, or everyone who is sent here is staying for a while." She frowned.

But Joanne and Tallya couldn't help but notice something strange in the corner of the room. It hadn't been there a few minutes ago. It looked like a suit of armour with a grim and disturbing metal face. It wasn't moving. Just standing bolt upright in the corner of the room. Everything suddenly went very quiet, waiting for the armour to move. But it did not.

"Um,I was sent here like you.I keep trying to find ways out,but,it never worked,nothing did." Tallya said,and threw the book she was reading away."I was invited to the mayor's garden party,and you shall come with me.Their must be something,or someone there who can help us with this problem." Tallya got up and looked at Joanne."But first,we need dresses." She said and sighed,"I have a few hundred I got working here,lets go shopping now." She said,and sighed.Tallya hated shopping,especially with steampunk.

"H-hey..." Joanne pointed at the weird armour. "I just noticed this. Since when is it here?" She asked.

Tallya looked at it,and walked up to it,taking all good gaze in."I-I,It's never been there.." Tallya said,creeped out."Let's go..That hasn't got to be good." She mumbled,walking away facing it,afraid it will do something if she turns around.

"Maybe it's a gift? Or not? Should we take it out? Or it will get worse? Okay, I agree, let's go out!" She blurted with a trembling voice, grabbed Tallya by the hand and rushed outside.

"Ok then..First thing on the shopping list,dresses.." Simon walked into the dress shop, staring at a girl who was torn between three dresses. Simon stalked over, his long scrawny frame walking slowly and yet gracefully over to her.
"I'd go with three myself, maybe I'm just a third-times-the-charm-guy. . . "He said snapping his fingers causing dresses one and two to disappear.

Tallya looked over at him,confused."S-Should I try it on?" Tallya asked with complete grace.
